This checklist outlines the equipment and items needed for the second day of filming. It includes cameras, batteries, microphones, a GoPro, lights, tripods, a jib, weights for the jib, storyboards, scripts, and costumes. The team will be filming scenes on the moors and inside a car, so they need cameras that can capture footage from different angles, including a GoPro mounted inside the car. They also plan to use a jib for a transition shot following characters in a van. The checklist ensures the team remembers to bring all necessary gear, charge batteries, download apps, and pack food for the shoot.

1. Checklist for Second Day of Filming
Since the lastchecklistcame inveryhandwhenwantingtofilmlasttime,we decidedtomake a
checklistforeachtime we film.Thisorganisesthe teamaswhatwe needtopack and how to get the
rightequipmenttothe locationof the shoot.We are now planningtofilmthe moorsscene (opening
sequence) on Thursday28thJanuary.We will printthischecklistoff onthe dayof filming,toensure
we won’tforgetanything.
For shootingonthe moors,we will needthe
followingshowninthe box tothe left.
We will be usingthe same cameraas we did
lasttime whichwasthe Sony.Thismeansthe
qualityof the filmwill remainthe same for
continuityreasons. We will alsohave twoof
themto shootfromEve’sperspective and
fromRichards’sperspective.Again,we will
have twofixedtripodswiththe camerasas;
the traditional fixedtripodwill alsobe useful
inour short to achieve scenesthatinvolve few
fastmovements.Usingthe tripodwill allowus
to pan smoothlysothatthe audience will
clearlysee whatisgoingon andit will also
create a sense of motion. We will charge the
batteries beforehand;however,we will puta
batteryineach camera whentakingthe
equipmentandpacktwomore,to prevent
themfromrunningout. We will alsopacka microphone foreachcamera to pickup the sound.
For the scenesof Richardand Eve inside of the car,we will be usinga GOPROas it will benefitour
short filmasitwill be easierforusto filmthese scenesaswe can attach themto partsof the car –
somethingwe wouldn’tbe able todowithmostothertypesof camera. Thismeansthe GoPro can
shootfrom inside of the car,and withresultina betterqualitypicture.Thisalsovariesthe type of
equipmentwe will use inourshortfilm,showingskillandclearunderstandinganddemonstrations
of the mediaequipmentwe have beengiven. AlsoaGoProfitsin a car easilyandissecuredbythe
suctionad on the back,meaningitissafe to filminside the car.Withusingthe GoPro,we needto
install anapp onthe phone sowe can control the camerafrom a distance onour phones.Thisis
helpful aswe thenwon’tbe seeninshotadjustingthe camera. We will needtoensure amemberof
the productionteamhas downloadedthe appbefore handandcheckthat itworks before the dayof
filming,sothe filmingdate canrun smoothly,withoutanyfaults.
As we are filminginthe dayand outside,withnatural lightandthencolourcorrectingitonediting
software,we feltwe wouldn’tneedlightstobrightenthe shots.However,tobe on the safe side,we
decidedthatwe shouldtake twolights,justincase itgets dark,meaningwe canuse lighttoeven
the shotsout whenitcomesto colourcorrecting.We will take twolightsandtwolightstandsjustin
case.

2. We alsoplanon usingthe jib,toshootRichard and Eve travellingawayfromthe moors to Eve’s
house justafterhe pickher up.We will use thisfora transitionshot,tovary the camera shotsand
anglesandthe movementof the camera.We have hada lessononhow to use the jibeffectivelyand
we feel like thiswouldcontributeandbenefitourshortfilm.We wouldlike touse the jibasitwill
capture the movementof the vanquicklyfromahighangle,whichwe wouldnotbe able toachieve
witha standardfixedtripod.The jibmoveseasilyside toside,meaningasthe van travelsquickly
past the shot,we will be able tofollowthe vanwiththe cameraas it slidessmoothlyandquickly.
Withthe jib,comesa bag of weightsanda screwdrivertoputthe jibtogether,withoutthis,we
wouldn’tbe able tosetup the jib,soit iscrucial we putit on the checklistsowe don’tforget.
Again,we will take the storyboardsandextrascriptsforthe cast and the story boardsto helpus
navigate the shotsandset upthe equipmenttofitthe angle andframingof the shot. Aswe are
filmingonthe moors,we needtoremembertobringthe packedlunchforthe team, whichis why
we put iton the checklist.We alsoneedto remindthe cast to be dressedinthe rightcostume,which
iswhy we have putit on the checklisttoremindthem.
