Juan Observation
Juan was able to read all the words in the preprimer list with ease. He demonstrated his ability to read
all the words with fluency, up until the fourth grade words were given, is when he began to have a few
miss read words. But besides having some trouble he was still able to get fifteen words correct from
the list that he was given to read. The words in which he seems to have difficulty with, were the ones
that consisted of words that that had letters that did not make sounds, for example, stampede. There
were three passages that I administered to Juan in which I believe would accurately determine his
level of reading. These were W, X, and Y. Since he is in 5 grade I believed that giving a passage that
was a grade lower, one that would fall ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Here is definitely when he seemed to struggle the most. He got an 86% accuracy and took longer to
read (3 minutes 36 seconds). He also seemed to get more frustrated when he read words that he was
not able to pronounce or he believed that he was not saying correct. Based on the test administered, I
determined that Juan fell in the range of an X. He is able to read the passage and has some difficulty
with the words but nothing that makes it impossible for him to read the passage. Some patterns that
can be noted is that he tends to skip some words when he is reading or add words that are not in the
text. Spelling is where Juan seemed to have some problems. He was able to spell out the words that
did not consist of a lot of words but when they began to get more complex is when he began to have
trouble. He got a 4 out of 6 in the blends and diagraphs section, 3out of 4 in the long vowels and and
managed to spell correctly 8 out of the ten words. When he was writing down the words he seemed
unsure of himself even though the words were correct and part of the reason he got one word correct
was because he was second guessing himself on how it was

Don Freeman s Corduroy
The children s book, Corduroy, written and illustrated by Don Freeman, tells the story of a teddy bear,
named Corduroy. Corduroy no longer wants to sit on the shelf in the department, he wants a new
home. One day, a girl named, Lisa, comes along and wants to buy Corduroy, but her mother tells her
no. Her mother says no because she does not want to spend anymore money and that the teddy bear is
missing a button. The two major themes of this book is friendship and hard work. Lisa took one look
at Corduroy and knew she wanted to take him home. Unfortunately, her mother would not let her
because she did not have any money and Corduroy was missing a button. Corduroy ventures all over
the store in search of his button. He is dedicated to finding his button, but he is not the only dedicated
one. Lisa goes home and empties her piggy bank and her mother lets her bring Corduroy home. The
theme of hard work is shown in Corduroy s determination to find his button and Lisa s determination
to bring Corduroy home. The theme of friendship is between Corduroy and Lisa. They may not know
each other, but Lisa still wants to make Corduroy her friend. You must be a friend, said Corduroy, I ve
always wanted a friend. Friendship is about accepting each other for who you are. This book shows
that Lisa accepts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Freeman uses personification as a way to have his readers relate to Corduroy, the teddy bear. He
personifies the bear by giving him childlike qualities. For example, Corduroy was curious on where
his button could be, so he journeys through the store in search of his missing button. Throughout his
journey, Freeman uses unique comparisons to grab the reader s attention. For example, he compares
the escalators to mountains and the house section of the store to a palace. Along with Freeman s
choice of comparisons and his ability to personify Corduroy, Freeman uses illustrations to tell the

Night, By Eliezer Wiesel
There are many important themes and overtones to the book Night, by Eliezer Wiesel. One of the
major themes from the book includes the protagonist, and author of his memoire, Elie Wiesel s ever
changing relationship with God. An example of this is when Moche the Beadle asked Elie an
important question that would change his life forever, as the basis of his passion and aptitude for
studying the ancient texts and teachings of Judaism, When Moche the Beadle asked Elie why he
prayed, Elie couldn t think of an answer that truly described his faith, and thought, a strange question,
why did I live, why did I breathe? (Wiesel 14).
The book begins describing Elie s religious teacher of the Kabbalah, Moshe the Beadle, as a jack of all
trades, or the go to man for advice or jobs. Kabbalah is a type of religious study derived from Judaism.
It is very rare and only practiced by a small part of the Jewish population, this includes Rabbis. This is
because you can only study Kabbalah, written in the Zohar text, or other subcategories of Jewish
mysticism, until you have mastered the Tora and Talmud. Kabbalah is a very advanced level of
religion and interpretation.
The book takes place during the span of World War II, and continues through Elie s perspective, as a
prisoner, persecuted due to his religion as a Jewish student. The first main plot line is when Elie and
his family are taken from their happy, peaceful lives in the small town of Sighet Transylvania, and are

Weavetech Case Summary
Downsizing or layoffs at a company, whether it is in WeaveTech or any other company have its legal
risks that are associated with the exercise. The potential legal risks associated with the downsizing
situation would be discrimination, such as how to select the employees that will be laid off (Benn,
Dunphy, Griffiths, 2014). This could bring about discrimination claims as some of the employees may
argue that they were terminated because of their gender, age, race among others. Also, there could be
legal issues if the WeaveTech did not give a sixty day notice since it has more than a hundred
employees as this is a requirement by the law under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining

The Change Humans Minds And Emotions Undergo Overtime
Essay Outline 2 Claims; 4 Evidence Introductory Paragraph: General Statement: The change humans
minds and emotions undergo overtime is known as coming of age . Claim 1: Certain circumstances
promote cognitive advancement. Claim 2: As children mature and grow older they learn how to
control and process their emotions. Thesis (arguable? Opinion): This work of Harper Lee highlights
the painful reality of growing up validating the belief that its characters effectively demonstrate the
crucial stages of development. Body Paragraph One: Topic Sentence (Claim 1): This novel widely
explores how certain situations in life encourage the mental development necessary for maturity.

Evidence 2: You oughta let her know you re here... Dill s eyes flickered at Jem, and Jem looked at the
floor. Then he rose and broke the remaining code of our childhood (Lee 187). Elaboration 2: Dill s
unnotified leave from Meridian deeply worries Jem because he has matured enough to understand
what his parents must be going through. He realizes the intensity of their fear and love for Dill and
how hard it may be for them to handle the news of his absence. Considering these facts, Jem decides
to inform Atticus of Dill s arrival. His level of maturity is expressed through this decision due to the
fact that he ponders like an adult. Scout and Dill s disapproval towards this decision highly reflects the
difference in mental capability and thought processes between the children and the adolescent Jem. To
Jem, their opinion is of no value compared to the safety of Dill. To add on, this decision of Jem s is
similar to the decision a parent would have made because this decision will be most beneficial for Dill
and his well being. Evidence 3: That s what I thought, too, he said at last, when I was your age. If
there s just one kind of folks, why can t they get along with each other? If they re all alike, why do
they go out of their way to despise each other? Scout, I think I m beginning to understand something. I

The Two Native American Brothers In The Red Convertible
Published in 1984, The Red Convertible depicts the relationship of two Native American brothers.
Lyman and Henry s relationship one day seemed perpetual. Unfortunately, this long lasting
relationship would come to an end. The two brothers were once adventurous and very much
nonchalant teenage boys enjoying the never ending summer. The unconditional trust the two brothers
have with each other is greatly portrayed through the joint ownership of the Red Convertible.
Unfortunately, the return of older brother Henry from the war has permanently changed him. Lyman is
unable to cope with his indifferent brother, thus Lyman s actions demonstrate how he greatly misses
the bond and relationship the two used to have. Ultimately, Lyman was to unable ... Show more

The perishing of Henery has led younger brother Lyman to have no other way of coping with it, but to
get rid of every memory regarding Henry. Lyman states, That picture. I never look at it anymore. A
few months ago, I don t know why, I got his picture out and tacked it on the wall... All I know is I
couldn t stay in the same room with that picture... We put the picture in a brown bag, folded the bag
over and over tightly, then put it way back in a closet (328). Lamentably, the relationship Henry and
Lyman sustained, died as Henry died too. This is greatly portrayed as Lyman tries to demolish all
memories involving Henry. The relationship that was once thought to be enduring, came to an end.
Unfortunately, Lyman was unable to retain the relationship he hoped would come back following the
arrival of Henry. Lyman came up with the conclusion that he will never be able to regain the bond
with Henry thus, he was unable to cope with the loss and decided to abolish all memories associated
with Henry.
Louise Erdrich s compelling short story, The Red Convertible thoroughly displays the relationship of
two Native American brothers; the story reveals how a close relationship which was at one time
unfathomable to think it would come to a finale, would one day deteriorate. The adventurous
memories that were once kept with great enthusiasm, were now destroyed as the war destroyed Henry.
Sadly, Lyman and Henry s once long lasting relationship died off as Henry did

Taking a Look at Miracles
What are miracles? Who would be able to do these miracles? A miracle is an
event which the force of nature including the natural powers of man cannot of
themselves produce, and which must therefore, referred to a supernatural agency
(Fisher1900,9). The existence of the miracles in hand of human still a debatable idea
everywhere. Regarding to some religious perspective, perfuming miracles is an
ability that given by God to holy persons such as prophets and so on. It has
also, different perspectives for religious people for whom who have the ability to
perform miracles. In my study about miracles in the Bible, I found that, miracles
takes place in many chapters, mainly in the four gospels. It has been recorded in
seven different categories. In this paper, I will focus on two of the prophetic miracles
that has performed by Jesus. In this paper I will show that Luke uses of prophetic
miracles of Jesus was to prove that he has special power make him the son of God
as well as the idea of incarnation.
Jesus performed numerous miracles occurrences throughout his earthly
ministry. While these super natural efforts extend it s benefits to the ones who need
it and, therefore showed Jesus sympathy on humankind, their primary reasons was
to affirm his claim to being the Chosen Son of God. These super natural powers
represented with Jesus in several forms. He showed his ability over health problems

Christmas Coal Mining Research Paper
Over the course of the mine being open, they advanced their technology to increase production and
keep up with the competition. The Christmas Coal Mine originally used small ponies to do the back
breaking work of pulling out loads of coal from within the mine (Luecke 1). No electric was used at
the mine until they purchased a generator. The generator didn t light up the whole tunnel; instead, it
ran a piece of equipment known as the , iron mule, or, electric mule. Bob Harpenau, Jacobs son,
stated, I can still remember one time sitting down there and here comes the iron mule. I thought that

Essay On High Grades In High School
As I made the walk into my first hour, geometry, my first day of high school; I thought to myself I
would never pass this class, I am a freshman in a sophomore class and I have not been taught any of
this before. Nervous and scared about the rest of the day and how hard my classes would be, I looked
forward to a year of low grades and failed assignments. However, this was not the case, high school
classes were much different then what I had thought. Many teachers were easy on students, gave less
homework than I had expected and were lenient on the homework assignments. Much different than
what I had expected, I have flown through high school with ease and superior grades. On the other
hand, as I begin to take college courses, I have learned that those grades in High School were much
easier to obtain and were of less value. High Schools have made it easier to get higher grades, and that
in turn, will affect my grades in college.
It can be seen strongly at my High School, Oologah High, that students have gotten lazier and parents
still expect teachers to hand out better grades. When enrolling and selecting classes; students have the
option to select easier, less demanding classes, yet are still rewarded with high grades. Now, instead of
taking classes that reward hard work and prepare students for the future, they are able to pass easy
classes and receive better scores. Those students who take more rigorous courses are slated with more
work, tougher assignments, and

Pros And Cons Of Living At Home Vs Living On Campus
Almost every new coming freshman face the choice of living at home or living on campus during the
start of their college career. For most college students it is an easy compromise to move away from
home, while for others it really makes no sense. The change from home life to dorm life generates a
major step for some students. Living at home versus living on campus comes with many advantages
and disadvantages. These include money, convenience, and time. Living at home can be both a
positive and negative aspect of one s life. Student s choosing to live at home have an advantage of
money problems since living on campus is not cheap. Usually, staying with your parents is cheaper
than staying in a dorm room. The cost of a dorm room can be as much as the cost of the college. The
students cannot negotiate the price of the on campus dorms, and if a resident did not pay for the next
year of housing, they could potentially be kicked out. Whereas, living at home, no parent would kick
out their child and they would not have to worry about paying rent. Students would also save a
boatload of money on the cost of food and supplies. Their parents would pay for the food in the house
and any necessity that would be required. This includes doing laundry, cooking homemade meals, or
an unlimited amount of time in the shower. However, with many pros living at home there equally a
number of pros and cons dealing with convenience when students live on campus or at home. Students

What Is Data Visualization
1. Introduction The Electronic Health Records (EHR) has become pervasive. As a result, medical and
health professionals have to grapple with an abundance of digital data. There can be no doubt that we
need to systematically collect, organize, consolidate and present data to users such as healthcare
professionals, primarily in order to decrease cognitive load and improve efficiency in diagnosing and
treating patients. The visual representation of information can go a long way in alleviating information
overload and also in improving decision making within the clinical environment. However, factors
such as perception of visualization tools by healthcare professionals may impede their effective
implementation and reduce usefulness of these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The paper focuses on challenges in data visualization in EHR and recommends possible remedies
using human centered design. 2. Visualization In general, the term Visualization is defined as the
development of a visual image in the human mind. However that is more than simply a graphical
representation of data or concepts, as visualization can work as a cognitive tool, and becomes a
powerful strategy in the construction of knowledge using human percipient and cognitive capacities.
This definition is based on the work of Stuart Card (Card 1999); he defines Visualization as being the
use of visual representations of abstract data, supported by computers and in order to extend the
cognition, in an interactive mode (Dulclerci Joao, 2010). Visualization can further assist humans with
their data analysis through visual representation of the information. This assistance is defined as
cognitive support. Ware defines visualization as a graphical representation of data and concepts ,
which is either an internal construct of the mind or an external artifact support decision making (Troy
Moller, 2004). Visualization is not only useful for data observation. It essentially contributes in a far
significant manner to the process of data analysis. When the input data is organized

Environmental And Humanitarian Issue Of Climate Change
One of the clearest and foremost environmental and humanitarian issue the world faces today is
climate change yet, you would almost not seem to know given the little attention major News
Corporations, such as ABC, NBC, FOX, and CBS spend on addressing, or even acknowledging for
that matter, the issue. Just last year in 2015, all four of these major networks together spent a grand
total of 146 minutes of airtime discussing climate change. To put that into perspective, all four of
those major networks together spent less than one percent of one percent of the year talking about
climate change, or just over two hours of the year between all four major networks. To make matters
worse, not every minute of the time consuming 146 minutes between all four major news networks
that was allot to cover climate change were engaged in any serious discussion about the ramification
or future implications it will have on the very near future. There are networks that find it in their best
interest (FOX news in particular) to somehow argue against the science of climate change, to argue
against the science backed liberal conspiracy that wants to destroy the American homeland (or
something as radical as that, I m not too sure exactly what they [crazy evangelical Christian
conservatives] believe in). However, there is a bigger, more serious underlying issue here that is not
fully concerned with the media coverage that climate change unfortunately receives. The underlying
issue is perhaps why

Emotion, Memory, And Decision Making
Emotional arousal appears to have a huge effect on processing, memory, and decision making. For
memories specifically, we tend to rehearse and review episodes of intense emotions frequently,
allowing them to be stronger and more relevant memories (Gluck, 2014). Flashbulb memories suggest
that emotion can greatly increase memory coding, though is still subject to misattribution errors. Still,
evidence suggests that emotion can boost memory encoding (Webbe slides). When creating emotional
experiences in a story against a non emotional story, explicit memory was strengthened by emotion
(Webbe slides). These factors influence the way memory of stored, but an effect known as mood
congruency of memory effect how memory is retrieved. This effect states that it is easier to retrieve
memories based on our current mood. In this way, people who are depressed and asked to recall
memories will recall sad ones, and people asked to recall episodic memories from neutral nouns
would recall memories that match their current mood states (Webbe slides). Life stressors can impact
the development or retrieval of memory, resulting in distorted or false memories. This could result
from psychological stress or trauma, resulting in functional amnesia. Additionally, guided imagery or
hypnosis recovered memories can be distorted, resulting in false memories and can make it difficult to
distinguish false memories from recovered ones. Emotional memory is processed by the amygdale,

The Importance Of Emotional Intelligence In The Workplace
Emotional intelligence is essential in the workplace. Emotional intelligence (EI) relates to numerous
skills, such as the ability to motivate oneself, the ability to regulate one s moods and delay
gratification, and the ability to empathize and work well with other people (Sadri, 2011, p84).
Understanding your own emotions, reactions and behavior and understanding those of your manager
or employees is a huge advantage in the workplace. Just as studying can improve your IQ, proper
training can improve your EQ or emotional quotient. Providing emotional intelligence training is
beneficial to any organization. EI is important to be an effective leader, it s strongly linked to
motivation and job performance and is crucial when communicating with your employees, especially
millennials which are the workforce of the future.
Emotional intelligence is an important factor to be an effective leader. Successful leaders are in tune
with themselves and their employees. They should be able to reflect and identify their own strengths,
weaknesses and opportunities to grow. In addition to self awareness, learning how to be aware of
others emotions can greatly improve communication and reduce conflict in the workplace. Listening
and showing an interest in what your employee s think and feel goes a long way. EI training can help
develop empathy, communication, and relationship building which all play a role in being an effective
leader. Leaders can learn to pause before reacting

Reflection Paper On Domestic Violence
On Monday, December 25, 2017, at approximately 1308 hours, I responded to 1032 Worthington

Essay On Deepening Insolvency
Originally only a theory of damages, the term Deepening Insolvency refers to the wrongful
prolongation of a corporation s life beyond insolvency, thereby resulting in damage to the corporation
caused by increased debt, dissipation of assets, decreased reputation etc.
Insolvency is generally understood, from a balance sheet perspective, as a financial condition such
that the sum of the entity s debts is greater than the fair value of a company s assets. What deepening
insolvency cases have also focused on, however, is cash flow insolvency when a company incurs debt
that would be beyond its ability to pay in future years and low capital insolvency when a company
engages in a transaction or business that its capital base cannot support. When an insolvent company

In an article written by Sabin Willet, it was stated that a new loan, however onerous or ill advised, can
never deepen balance sheet insolvency. Every new loan involves an infusion of capital that sets off the
added debt so the insolvency remains the same, not deeper. Shareholders are not injured by deepening
insolvency; their injury is total upon the initial insolvency. The dead cannot get deader. Although a
corporation s creditors may be harmed by deepening insolvency, the creditors are not the corporation;
that they may suffer harm as a corporation s insolvency deepens does not mean that the corporation
does. If deepening insolvency were valid, a cause of action would also have to exist for diminished
solvency.
Not all cases agreed to the judgment of Lafferty case. In the judgment of In re Global Serv. Group

researching the responsibilities, the work conditions, salary, the outlook, and future; a career as a
spanish language teacher would be interesting, and the perfect training would be at St. Mary s
University at San Antonio. Tasks and responsibilities for this career are all very different and must be
done on a daily basis when getting the students to comprehend and understand the new teachings.
Foreign Language Teachers must make sure to interpret the terminology and translate it into the
student s natural language to help them understand better in their learning. They must also provide
instruction in the literature and also in the history of the culture so that the students will be learning
correctly. Professors should also tests students frequently to see their progress so that they know
exactly where they re at. These tests and other activities will show the teacher if the students
understand to read, write, and most importantly the overall understanding in the dialect. If the
instructor sees that the students may need a bit more of help with understanding, it is recommended
that the students work in small groups so that other learners that have a better understanding of the
language can help the ones that don t really understand. Professors should also ensure students that

Do you agree with the view expressed in source three that the diplomatic situation was the main
reason for Henry s failure to obtain an annulment of his marriage to Catherine by 1529? We can
clearly see that there is more than one reason why Henry wanted to gain an annulment to Catherine in
1529, and that it wasn t purely down to reasons all diplomatically related. Although saying this, it s
also clear that the diplomatic situation at the time was a huge contributing factor for the failure. It
most definitely did slow down the progress Henry made in achieving his annulment. At the time of the
annulment, it was known that the Pope was hugely influenced by Charles V, who at the time was the
Holy Roman Emperor. Due to Charles role ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another diplomatic situation that stacked against Henry, was the lack of allies he had, and especially
the fact that he had no powerful allies to support him in his struggle, or powerful enough to oppose the
Pope and Charles. With it looking that Henry had absolutely no diplomatic power or control in this
situation, it was looking that he would stand almost no chance in changing the mind of the Pope and
Charles into agreeing to the annulment. Although it s beginning to look like diplomatic status was the
only reason that caused the failure in the annulment, there were other factors such as Wolsey. At this
point in time,Wolsey was widely unpopular, especially in England. He had previously had huge
influence amongst the ranks of the courtiers, but they now felt no need to obey his orders. Due to this,
he justlike Henry had very few allies, and the few he did have weren t powerful enough to help him in
his cause. Due to this he was faced with great issues when it came to convincing Campeggio that
Henry had plausible reason to gain an annulment. Arguably the biggest fault of Wolsey, would be his
very poor relations with the Vatican and the papacy. Source J says that Wolsey s only real hope at
obtaining Henry s annulment would be to turn the people on Charles and gain more powerful allies

The Non Alcoholic Beverage Segment
The non alcoholic beverage segment is a very competitive and dynamic sector and encompasses a
broad range of categories as showed in the chart below: The market size is currently around $ 170
billion in sales and is projected to grow to $190 billion by 2020. As the graph below points out, the
CSDs remain the largest single sub category within the segment. However, as the CSD sub category
continues to decline, it is expected that most of the segment growth will be driven by smaller,
emerging better for you brands.
In reality, many of these sub categories are already experiencing a growth driven by both the
increasing demand for healthier, better for you alternatives and the companies abilities to launch new
products with original flavors and innovative packaging.
As outlined in the chart above, between 2003 and 2013, per capita consumption of CSDs decreased by
23%, while bottled water saw a 105% increase and juices and other noncarbonated drinks increased
55%. While the CSDs sales are expected to continue declining, other healthier and functional non
alcoholic beverage categories are expected to continue gaining share.
MARKET TRENDS
At least three factors may be considered as growth propellers in the group of healthy, non carbonated
beverages. The most important and widely discussed is the growing consumer awareness and concerns
about the effects of diet on health and well being. This new approach, which has been producing

Troy and Trojan War
Troy and Trojan War: Final
Topic 2
Helen: What is beauty? Some may say Helen is and was the definition of beauty. Can beauty be born
or be simply made by the Gods. Beauty in this epic tale in The Iliad had the power to make any man
do anything, Helen being a famous female character in this ancient time made the power of beauty
strike. In this period of time walked many strong warriors, many famous warriors. But they all seemed
to let Helen has the power. When being this beautiful I believe it came with a big price. She was
blamed for the war. She was called the innocent, the guilty, the dangerous, the sinful, the irresponsible,
and the woman who launched a thousand ships . She was blamed because these men were fools to her
beauty. A woman s beauty can t possibly be the cause for all this death and destruction. But in the epic
tale of The Iliad, these men made Helen the most powerful one of them all. Some say she was the
reasoning for all many innocent men who died, but why? Her beauty. Helen of Sparta was the cause of
the whole war between the Trojans and the Achillians, which lasted for ten years. She was mortal and
immortal, he father was told as being Zeus and her mother was the Leda, the beautiful queen of
Sparta. Her mother was a swan so when having Helen she was in an egg. As she grew older all Helen s
suitors came from all over Greece, one of the men were Menelaus who she married. But during an

Andrew Jackson s Influence On American History
Andrew Jackson is probably one of the most influential and possibly one of the most dynamic figures
in American history. He was a great general and fine president. Although branded with unpleasant

and the many political parties. With this election, there are two main parties at play, the National
Republicans, which a continuation of many values of Federalism, and the Democratic Republicans,
which stands most of Jackson s values due to his values closely resembling those of Thomas Jefferson,
the creator of the Democratic Party. The election of 1824 is highlighted with the corrupt bargain where
Henry Clay, the head of the house of representatives decides to endorse Adams so he can win the
election, and defeat the popular Andrew Jackson. Enraged by this his hatred toward the National
Banks grew tremendously due to Adams liking the bank. Which is very important for his election in
1828 and what he does during his term.
The election of 1828 is probably the dirtiest competition in the history of the United States. John
Quincy Adams and Andrew Jackson insulted each other so much it was the pettiest rivalry in history.
The consequences were that ugly truths and misconceptions were released, especially for Andrew
Jackson regarding accusations of adultery with a non settled legalization of marriage with his wife and
executions of militia during the war of 1812. This election is significant to the impact of the United

This is a tall hierarchy organisation chart of Debenhams, it shows the various levels of employees.
From the chart we can see the span of control is narrow and the chain of command goes downwards
(vertical) this means starting from the top management, down to middle level managers and ending up
at lower staff; it shows who is responsible for who/who reports to who.. A tall structure means lines of
communication are longer, so may mean slower response to changes. However it helps as roles and
responsibilities are clearly defined so everyone knows their role, it also allows close relationships
between workers and employees, close supervision and possible for more upward growth for

Power in role culture is decided by their place in the organisation chart.
Role Culture is from the Charles Handy Models of Organisational Culture. Organisations with a role
culture are based on rules. They are highly controlled, with everyone knowing their roles and
responsibilities. Power in a role culture is determined by a person s position (role) in the
organisational structure. (tutor2u, 2017)
Debenhams has a Role Culture because we have several different departments and each department
has a manager that is in charge of that respective department. For example: in the HR department we

This has a positive impact for goals and achievements to be reached as all employees are aware of
their roles and responsibilities.
Role Culture also has a positive impact on staff as it provides stability, security and continuity, which
then lowers stress levels. If staff feel secure happy, they may be more loyal to the company with a

Oxidation Of Benzoin To Benzil
This experiment performed the second step in a multistep synthesis. The reaction carried out was an
oxidation of benzoin to benzil using a recyclable copper catalyst, cupric acetate. The cupric acetate
acted as an electron acceptor in a redox type reaction. The benzoin donated an electron to cupric
acetate and formed the Cu+ ion while becoming a benzoin radical cation. The benzoin radical cation
lost a hydrogen to the Cu+ ion forming acetic acid. Another redox cycle between Cu2+ and the
benzoin radical took place, forming a second Cu+ ion and the benzoin cation lost a proton to another
acetate ion to form the product benzil. The benzoin was oxidize to benzil as well as the Cu+ ion was

Planned Behavior Theory
The Theory of Planned Behavior (TBP) is a theory proposed by Icek Ajzen in 1975, whereby evolved
from the Theory of Reasoned Action, which was, published jointly with his mentor and colleague
Martin Fishbein. Icek Ajzen is a prominent social psychologist that received his highest degree, a PhD
in Psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign in 1969. Ajzen currently holds a
position as a Professor of Psychology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst (Pious, 2012). The
Theory of Planned Behavior was designed to analyze the link between attitudes and behavior and help
to predict and explain human behavior. The thought behind the theory is that it will help to understand
how we can change people s behavior. The theory is based on three defining factors about beliefs. The
three types include normative beliefs, behavioral and control beliefs. Behavioral beliefs are described

so much so that the prospect of any other setup becomes virtually unthinkable. However, in an ever

But as time passes, the role of the spouse has become much more encompassing: now one s partner is
expected to be not only their lover, but their best friend, their therapist, confidant, playmate, masseuse,
and escort with matching taste in music and movies. These expectations are of course somewhat
unrealistic one will most likely not find everything they could ever want in just one person. This is
where polyamory comes into play: it gives you everything just not from the same person. According to
Washington Post writer Monica Hesse,
Polyamory isn t about sex, polys tell you. It is about love. It is about loving your primary partner
enough to love that they have a new secondary partner, even when their New Relationship Energy
with that person leaves you, briefly, out in the cold. It s about loving yourself enough to acknowledge
that your needs cannot be met by one loving person. It s about loving love enough to embrace it in
unexpected form like maybe in the form of your primary s new secondary! in which case you may all
form a triad and live happily together. That kind of love.
But unlike an open marriage, which is the pursuit of sexual gratification with no strings attached,
polyamory is less about them wanting to fulfill personal desires, they say, and more about needing
more people to meet the daily requirements of 21st century life. As in, if it takes two incomes to keep

Organizational Change Is Significant To An Organization
Organizational change is significant to an organization as it can change the success of an organization,
remove specific job practices or functions, alter policies and procedures, and change the way an
organization operates (managementhelp.org). Organizational change efforts should improve the
performance of an organization as well as the people in the organization (Campbell, 2014).
To begin an organizational change, a change agent should understand the culture of organization,

credited with having created the original crime novel, and he didn t get this distinction by writing like
everyone else. He used his interesting writing style to make his readers feel as though they were
actually in the book, but not just as an onlooker. He allowed them to get inside the character s heads
and really know them, glimpsing flash backs into the character s pasts, while also foreshadowing
events to come. He wrote with a very intricate style, but also one that ended up being incredibly
effective.
Capote was truly an artist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Often this foreshadowing was very subtle and easily overlooked if the reader wasn t careful. For
example, at the very bottom of page 108 and onto the top of page 109, Capote shares one of Dick s
thoughts regarding Perry s anger in which he says, The time had been when Dick had thought he could
control, could regulate the temperature of these sudden cold fevers that burned and chilled his friend.
He had been mistaken, and in the aftermath of that discovery, had grown very unsure of Perry... At
first glance this quote seems foreboding, but unless the reader has finished the book, they may not
notice the foreshadowing. At the end of the book it is reveled that Perry single handedly killed the
entire Clutter family, which is most likely the time when Dick made the discovery that there might be
something wrong with Perry. Capote hid his foreshadowing very well, so that it is often only found
once the event it foreshadowed had passed. However, this isn t to say that it was ineffective. His
foreshadowing served it s exact purpose, as readers who would notice the subtle hints would be drawn
in, curious to see what they were

Analysis Of Jeremiah 1, By Jeremiah
In Jeremiah 1, God explains that he has had a plan for Jeremiah before he was brought into existence.
Just like Jeremiah, God give everyone the breath in their lungs to speak the words of the Lord. God
gives his people his promise that even their troubles, he will be the supporter in his people s calling. In
Jeremiah 1, Jeremiah is called on as a young boy to speak through the lord, is given power in the lord
s touch, and has a vision to symbolize the difficulties he will face and the strength he must gain
through the Lord s promise. Historical Context Jeremiah starts by letting the readers know where he is
and what is happening around him. Jeremiah was grown and raised into a family of priests. He is the
son of Hilkiah, who is one of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was successful for a while, but the Judeans quickly returned to their sinful ways (Walton 708).
The official author of the book of Jeremiah is not exactly knows, but was most likely not written by
one person. It is highly assumed that the legitimate historical Jeremiah strongly influenced the
perspective and structure of the Book of Jeremiah, and that there are real prophecies of Jeremiah in the
book. The book of Jeremiah was actually put together in a later time, most likely in the late 6th
Century BC, at the end of the Babylonian Exile. This took place when the people of Judah finally got
permission to go home. Jeremiah s setting is in Ancient Judah, during the time that Jeremiah s
prophecy, from roughly 630 to 580 BCE (Harrison 454). It is a time of extreme suffering, warfare and
destruction. The destruction of the northern kingdom of Israel had happened around 740 BCE, when
the Israelites were conquered by the Assyrian Empire and the people sent off to live in Assyria. In the
time of Jeremiah, the Judean kings most likely knew the events happening in the northern kingdom,
since a number of citizens had moved south into Judah (Harrison 868 870). It is assumed that
Jeremiah s father had the possibility of coming from the family of Abiathar. In the time of King
Solomon, Abiathar had been a priest. (1 Kings 1:25; 2:26 27). Anathoth was a suburb about three

The Importance Of Border Patrol
In the middle of the Indian Ocean there is a little island that is home to a thousand people. The water
is warm and the sun is always shining. The members on the island live a life free of danger and they
feel safe in their community on the island. All of the members have created a simple, easy life that
works best for them. The island hasn t always been the way it is today, members have created a
community that is very integrated. The community hold over the members is strong and they all know
what it means to be a member on the island. Border Patrol on the island is very strict to help ensure
the members are protected. Security guards only allow certain people on the island and limit their time
there. Due to the lack of autonomy on the island,

What is a secure site? Traditionally when you hear someone say Our website is Secure they imply that
their website uses SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) and that the traffic is encrypted (The little lock in your

makes sure that nobody can sniff your session (see what you re doing), but if the site you re

contain logo s saying Secured by XXX (XXX being a vendor name) but you can t trust these one bit.

 Bots are programs that take over and use the resources of a computer system over a network
without consent, and communicate those results to others who may control the Bots.
The above concepts overlap and they can obviously be combined. The terminology is evolving.
Antivirus programs and Internet security programs are useful in protecting a computer or
programmable device / system from malware.
Such programs are used to detect and usually eliminate viruses. Anti virus software can be purchased
or downloaded via the internet. Care should be taken in selecting anti virus software, as some
programs are not as effective as others in finding and eliminating viruses or malware. Also, when
downloading anti virus software from the Internet, one should be cautious as some websites say they
are providing protection from viruses with their software, but are really trying to install malware on
your computer by disguising it as something else.
Anti spyware
There are two major kinds of threats in relation to spyware:
Spyware collects and relays data from the compromised computer to a third party.
Adware automatically plays, displays, or downloads advertisements. Some types of adware are also
spyware and can be classified as privacy invasive software. Adware often are integrated with other

He demonstrated his ability to read all the words with fluency, up until the fourth grade words were given, is when he began to have a few miss read words. The words in which he seems to have difficulty with, were the ones that consisted of words that that had letters that did not make sounds, for example, stampede. Based on the test administered, I determined that Juan fell in the range of an X. He is able to read the passage and has some difficulty with the words but nothing that makes it impossible for him to read the passage. • 5. Night, By Eliezer Wiesel There are many important themes and overtones to the book Night, by Eliezer Wiesel. One of the major themes from the book includes the protagonist, and author of his memoire, Elie Wiesel s ever changing relationship with God. An example of this is when Moche the Beadle asked Elie an important question that would change his life forever, as the basis of his passion and aptitude for studying the ancient texts and teachings of Judaism, When Moche the Beadle asked Elie why he prayed, Elie couldn t think of an answer that truly described his faith, and thought, a strange question, why did I live, why did I breathe? (Wiesel 14). The book begins describing Elie s religious teacher of the Kabbalah, Moshe the Beadle, as a jack of all trades, or the go to man for advice or jobs. Kabbalah is a type of religious study derived from Judaism. It is very rare and only practiced by a small part of the Jewish population, this includes Rabbis. This is because you can only study Kabbalah, written in the Zohar text, or other subcategories of Jewish mysticism, until you have mastered the Tora and Talmud. Kabbalah is a very advanced level of religion and interpretation. The book takes place during the span of World War II, and continues through Elie s perspective, as a prisoner, persecuted due to his religion as a Jewish student. The first main plot line is when Elie and his family are taken from their happy, peaceful lives in the small town of Sighet Transylvania, and are put into a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Dill s eyes flickered at Jem, and Jem looked at the floor. Then he rose and broke the remaining code of our childhood (Lee 187). He realizes the intensity of their fear and love for Dill and how hard it may be for them to handle the news of his absence. Considering these facts, Jem decides to inform Atticus of Dill s arrival. His level of maturity is expressed through this decision due to the fact that he ponders like an adult. The unconditional trust the two brothers have with each other is greatly portrayed through the joint ownership of the Red Convertible. Unfortunately, the return of older brother Henry from the war has permanently changed him. Lyman is unable to cope with his indifferent brother, thus Lyman s actions demonstrate how he greatly misses the bond and relationship the two used to have. Ultimately, Lyman was to unable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The perishing of Henery has led younger brother Lyman to have no other way of coping with it, but to get rid of every memory regarding Henry. Lyman states, That picture. I never look at it anymore. A few months ago, I don t know why, I got his picture out and tacked it on the wall... All I know is I couldn t stay in the same room with that picture... We put the picture in a brown bag, folded the bag over and over tightly, then put it way back in a closet (328). Lamentably, the relationship Henry and Lyman sustained, died as Henry died too. This is greatly portrayed as Lyman tries to demolish all memories involving Henry. The relationship that was once thought to be enduring, came to an end. Unfortunately, Lyman was unable to retain the relationship he hoped would come back following the arrival of Henry. Lyman came up with the conclusion that he will never be able to regain the bond with Henry thus, he was unable to cope with the loss and decided to abolish all memories associated with Henry. Louise Erdrich s compelling short story, The Red Convertible thoroughly displays the relationship of two Native American brothers; the story reveals how a close relationship which was at one time unfathomable to think it would come to a finale, would one day deteriorate. The adventurous memories that were once kept with great enthusiasm, were now destroyed as the war destroyed Henry. Sadly, Lyman and Henry s once long lasting relationship died off as Henry did ... Essay On High Grades In High School As I made the walk into my first hour, geometry, my first day of high school; I thought to myself I would never pass this class, I am a freshman in a sophomore class and I have not been taught any of this before. Nervous and scared about the rest of the day and how hard my classes would be, I looked forward to a year of low grades and failed assignments. However, this was not the case, high school classes were much different then what I had thought. Many teachers were easy on students, gave less homework than I had expected and were lenient on the homework assignments. Much different than what I had expected, I have flown through high school with ease and superior grades. On the other hand, as I begin to take college courses, I have learned that those grades in High School were much easier to obtain and were of less value. High Schools have made it easier to get higher grades, and that in turn, will affect my grades in college. It can be seen strongly at my High School, Oologah High, that students have gotten lazier and parents still expect teachers to hand out better grades. When enrolling and selecting classes; students have the option to select easier, less demanding classes, yet are still rewarded with high grades. Now, instead of taking classes that reward hard work and prepare students for the future, they are able to pass easy classes and receive better scores. • 13. Pros And Cons Of Living At Home Vs Living On Campus Almost every new coming freshman face the choice of living at home or living on campus during the start of their college career. For most college students it is an easy compromise to move away from home, while for others it really makes no sense. The change from home life to dorm life generates a major step for some students. Living at home versus living on campus comes with many advantages and disadvantages. These include money, convenience, and time. Living at home can be both a positive and negative aspect of one s life. Student s choosing to live at home have an advantage of money problems since living on campus is not cheap. Usually, staying with your parents is cheaper than staying in a dorm room. The cost of a dorm room can be as much as the cost of the college. The students cannot negotiate the price of the on campus dorms, and if a resident did not pay for the next year of housing, they could potentially be kicked out. Whereas, living at home, no parent would kick out their child and they would not have to worry about paying rent. Students would also save a boatload of money on the cost of food and supplies. Their parents would pay for the food in the house and any necessity that would be required. This includes doing laundry, cooking homemade meals, or an unlimited amount of time in the shower. However, with many pros living at home there equally a number of pros and cons dealing with convenience when students live on campus or at home. Students ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As a result, medical and health professionals have to grapple with an abundance of digital data. There can be no doubt that we need to systematically collect, organize, consolidate and present data to users such as healthcare professionals, primarily in order to decrease cognitive load and improve efficiency in diagnosing and treating patients. The visual representation of information can go a long way in alleviating information overload and also in improving decision making within the clinical environment. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The paper focuses on challenges in data visualization in EHR and recommends possible remedies using human centered design. 2. Visualization In general, the term Visualization is defined as the development of a visual image in the human mind. However that is more than simply a graphical representation of data or concepts, as visualization can work as a cognitive tool, and becomes a powerful strategy in the construction of knowledge using human percipient and cognitive capacities. This definition is based on the work of Stuart Card (Card 1999); he defines Visualization as being the use of visual representations of abstract data, supported by computers and in order to extend the cognition, in an interactive mode (Dulclerci Joao, 2010). Visualization can further assist humans with their data analysis through visual representation of the information. This assistance is defined as cognitive support. Ware defines visualization as a graphical representation of data and concepts , which is either an internal construct of the mind or an external artifact support decision making (Troy Moller, 2004). Environmental And Humanitarian Issue Of Climate Change One of the clearest and foremost environmental and humanitarian issue the world faces today is climate change yet, you would almost not seem to know given the little attention major News Corporations, such as ABC, NBC, FOX, and CBS spend on addressing, or even acknowledging for that matter, the issue. Just last year in 2015, all four of these major networks together spent a grand total of 146 minutes of airtime discussing climate change. To put that into perspective, all four of those major networks together spent less than one percent of one percent of the year talking about climate change, or just over two hours of the year between all four major networks. To make matters worse, not every minute of the time consuming 146 minutes between all four major news networks that was allot to cover climate change were engaged in any serious discussion about the ramification or future implications it will have on the very near future. There are networks that find it in their best interest (FOX news in particular) to somehow argue against the science of climate change, to argue against the science backed liberal conspiracy that wants to destroy the American homeland (or something as radical as that, I m not too sure exactly what they [crazy evangelical Christian conservatives] believe in). However, there is a bigger, more serious underlying issue here that is not fully concerned with the media coverage that climate change unfortunately receives. The underlying issue is perhaps why ... • 16. Emotion, Memory, And Decision Making Emotional arousal appears to have a huge effect on processing, memory, and decision making. For memories specifically, we tend to rehearse and review episodes of intense emotions frequently, allowing them to be stronger and more relevant memories (Gluck, 2014). Flashbulb memories suggest that emotion can greatly increase memory coding, though is still subject to misattribution errors. Still, evidence suggests that emotion can boost memory encoding (Webbe slides). When creating emotional experiences in a story against a non emotional story, explicit memory was strengthened by emotion (Webbe slides). These factors influence the way memory of stored, but an effect known as mood congruency of memory effect how memory is retrieved. This effect states that it is easier to retrieve memories based on our current mood. In this way, people who are depressed and asked to recall memories will recall sad ones, and people asked to recall episodic memories from neutral nouns would recall memories that match their current mood states (Webbe slides). Life stressors can impact the development or retrieval of memory, resulting in distorted or false memories. This could result from psychological stress or trauma, resulting in functional amnesia. We can clearly see that there is more than one reason why Henry wanted to gain an annulment to Catherine in 1529, and that it wasn t purely down to reasons all diplomatically related. Although saying this, it s also clear that the diplomatic situation at the time was a huge contributing factor for the failure.
