children from Perry Elementary schools and St. Joan of Arc were bussed to the high school to watch

Abstract: Today computer is the widely accepted mean of class room communication and it provides
the facility of self learning. According to the objectives of the study researcher has developed a
Computer Assisted Learning Program and Programmed Learning Material for teaching Direct Indirect
Speech unit of English grammar of standard IX. Findings of the study show that the reactions of the
students towards the CAL package were found positive according to their opinions. They would like
to learn other subjects by this method, this package was easy to understand, easy to remember, more
interesting and stress less, and it was helpful for self learning and increased their concentration. The
CAL package and the Programmed Learning Material both are very useful for self learning, drilling,
revision and diagnostic and remedial teaching in class room. Effectiveness of CAL package and
programmed Learning material can be compared with other methods like team teaching, peer learning,
Co operative Language learning, discussion method etc.

Industrialist Andrew Carnegie was born in Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland in November of 1835 to a
family of handloom weavers, a group hit remarkably hard by the mechanization of the textile industry.
Abandoning the minimal expectations and the now almost invaluable job of weaving in the Scottish
industrial cities, Carnegie s family emigrated to the United States in 1848. After years of work and
experience in the expansion of the steel industry, Carnegie obtained a general logic of arguments about
labor to the broader realm of social relation, giving specific attention to the role of private upper class
wealth in a democratic society. His article Wealth, later known as The Gospel of Wealth, was
published in the North American Review in June of 1889. In his writing, he rejected the traditional
goals of charity and depended on less carefully discriminating between the worthy and unworthy
recipients than on attacking the roots causes of inequality/ distribution of wealth themselves. Carnegie
believed that wealth should be invested in the useful ventures for the sake of public being rather than

The majority of the teaching I a do is to 16 19 year olds although I have taught adults in the past. It is
a more reciprocally rewarding experience teaching motivated learners. I would like to move into
teaching in a prison or in another environment that enables disadvantaged individuals to improve their

conclusion of World War II. While many players in the Negro Leagues had just as much talent as
Major Leaguers, black players were never granted the same recognition as their white counterparts.
While white players were able to live fairly comfortable lifes as ballplayers, blacks lived lives of
difficulty. Seasons were very long in the Negro Leagues, often topping out around 200 games. Unlike
in the majors where teams would remain in the same city for three or four days, Negro League teams

some even ended up playing in Latin American in order to earn more money. The average pay for a
black player ranged from $125 to $300 a month which when compared with white players was less

daily. The author of the book Kirk Krak, Edwidge Danticat, uses juxtaposition to clearly paint a
picture of this. She shows the ugly truth about Haiti during this time through the use of the characters
that face problems both good and bad every day. Juxtaposition is a very dynamic, hard to define, and
can be difficult to point out at times. However, in the examination of the short stories one can find that

Prisoners in the labor camp slaved away at construction, building a majority of the Soviet Union s
economic infrastructure. The prisoners who lived in the Gulag produced miles of railroads to canals,
working tremendously, Gulag prisoners constructed the White Sea Baltic Canal, the Moscow Volga
