autobiography written by Elie Wiesel in 2006. In this book, Wiesel shares his four years of
Horrifying experience at the concentration camps. The main purpose of writing this book is to

The NBA Should Enforce a Hard Salary Cap
How many of you sports fans out there are sick of paying twenty five dollars for a lousy seat at an
NBA game? How many of you are sick of seeing the same teams in the finals every year? I m sure
there are thousands of you out there that feel this way, as do I. The way we can fix these problems
is to demand that the NBA enforce a hard salary cap. A hard salary cap would lower ticketprices,
allow for more teams to be more competitive and eliminate the possibility of any future lockouts. If
the three things listed above aren t met, it s hard to say if the NBA will survive at all. I want to see
the NBA survive, but not in the way things are being run now. A hard salary cap is the only way...
( 1 ) The players realize that they are eliminating their average fan and they don t care. We as fans
should not pay these outlandish ticket prices. A hard salary cap is the only thing that will lower
salaries and ticket prices. If ticket prices aren t lowered, I personally feel that the players can kiss

Some people believe that NBA arenas will fill up in spite of high ticket prices. Just last year
Michael Jordan made 33.14 million dollars while the whole Chicago Bulls salary cap was 26.9
million, and all season long seats were filled. That means to some that no matter the amount, people

To the people that believe this, I must remind them of Major League Baseball and the situation
that they faced just a few years back. First, players salaries skyrocketed to obscene levels,
alienating their average fan. Next, the players couldn t decide how to divide up their millions.

For my sociology project, I decided to compare and contrast my husband and I cultures. In doing
so I discovered we shared many cultural norms and tradition although there was some noticeable
difference in terms of how our communities are run within our defined societies. My husband hails
from a small country on the coast of West Africa named Sierra Leone. That s a huge contrast from

Lectures on Pedagogy. It will begin by discussing why Kant believed that education, specifically
moral education, is necessary for a human being to realize her Bestimmung (destiny), but not
necessary for non rational animals to reach their natural vocations. It will analyze the role a moral
education (the general development of morality) plays in becoming human and will continue by
outlining the structure and key points of Kant s hypothetical moral educational system. Finally this
paper will highlight possible conflict between education and autonomy (a concept vital to his
broader moral philosophy) but will ultimately argue that moral education is compatible with the
notion of the intelligible self. Kant makes it explicit in his work that the human being is the only
creature that requires education to reach its natural destiny. In order to fully make sense of this
notion, it is first necessary to briefly discuss the twofold nature of the human self as explained in
Critique of Pure Reason and developed in Groundwork for the Metaphysics of Morals. The human
being is thought of as participating in both the empirical and intelligible realms. The empirical self

The World s Population Will Face A Severe Shortage Of Water
Case Summary According to research conducted by the United Nations, approximately two
thirds of the world s population will face a severe shortage of water by 2025(Shaw Barry, 2014,
pg. 131). Some countries have begun to prepare early by importing tankers of water from other
countries. The State of Michigan; however, is not as concerned about the shortage due to having
over 11,000 lakes including the Great Lakes. Due to the vast amount of water sources, Nestle
has built a bottled water plant in Mecosta County, Michigan. The new plant has cost Nestle over
100 million dollars and has caused much controversy with locals. Nestle had built a 12 mile
pipeline from the plant to a local spring. Many organizations in Michigan saw this as a huge
threat to water conservation and later had resorted to suing Nestle. Lawyers from organizations
such as, Michigan s Citizens for Water Conservation and Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa
Indians had claimed that due to reasonable use and a treaty from 1836, the land was protected from
misuse of transportation of water. Michigan state judge, Lawrence Root, had bought the argument
and had upheld the lawsuit. Ruling that the environment is at risk no matter how much water
Nestle draws out, he ordered the pumps turned off (Barry, 2014, pg. 132). Around two years later
the case had been appealed and sent back to the appellate court to be revised. The court had entered
Nestle into an agreement that they would not pump more than 250 gallons

In the 1920s, there was an increase in bank credit and loans. Confident in the potency of the U.S.
economy, the stock market became a one way bet. Many consumers borrowed money to buy
shares. Firms took out more loans for expansion. Because people took on so much debt, it meant
they became more vulnerable to a change in confidence. When that change came in the form of
the 1929 crash, those who had borrowed money were left exposed. Moreover, rush to sell shares
trying to remedy their debts. Interconnected to buying shares on credit was the practice of buying
shares on the margin. To buy on the margin meant you paid between 10 20 percent of the value of
the shares; but it also meant you were financing 80 90 percent of the value of the shares. This
allowed more currency to be invested, which inflated the value of each share. Numerous investors
made millions buying on the margin, the so called margin millionaire investors made millions in
profits buying on the margin and observing the rising price of their share. However, it also left
stockholders vulnerable when prices fell. During the 1920s, the virtually endless increasing
movement of the markets seemed to make this practice practicable, Exacerbating this tendency was
the fact that more and more investors were getting bank advances in order to pay the preliminary
