Proposal 1 DELETE SUPPORT COMMENTS IN RED AFTER WRIING SECTION Student Name and Number: George paviour 356382 Project proposal title and date: Uk Underground 30/09/2021 Main area of activity: I will be making a fanzine on UK subcultures but also taking photos for it and using editorial programs for graphic design. Target Audience: The set age range was 16- 24year olds, and I believe my fanzine will target them and possibly more. They will probably be interested in UK rap and dance music, and the fashion that comes with this. I want my fanzine to have a slightly rebelliousnature, like that of the old Punk ones. This means I may attract people who feel outcasted from society or feel most publications and media doesn’t relate to them. Rationale: 100 words approx. I have so far produced a music video, an animation and a documentary. From doing these projects I learnt how to edit video: Apply filters, transitions, add graphical elements, add video to greenscreen, create moving graphical elements, add text and add music. Both the music video and documentary gained me the same skills, and the animation gave me others I think will benefit the fanzine more. Although I wont be animating, the project did involve lots of graphical work and drawing which I think will benefit me a lot. Also, I did a small project where I made a magazine cover. I did this on photoshop and learnt lots of skills such as removing backgrounds and importing fonts. I believe these skills will really benefit the fanzine. the reason for my topic choice is due to personal interest. In my spare time i produce music and operate within the scene my fanzine will cover. I believe this is a perfect format to channel all my interests and with me being a part of a scene, I can keep the info entirely factual by covering other muscians I personally know etc. Project Concept: 200 words approx.f I will make a fanzine about the UK’s underground music and fashion culture. This consists of dance and rap music, fashion and all the culture that comes with those. I want my fanzine to embody the classic conventions of a punk fanzine with the rebelliousnature yet come across visually more modern. The fanzine will be 12 pages long with some pages dedicated to one artist, with interviews dedicated to them and lots of promotional photos.Some pages will also be genre specific. Another page idea is recent releases and song reviewswhere I will research my local scene and what's coming out at the moment. Another idea is rave reviews where attenders of recent raves submit reviews and stories from the night. Another is music video breakdowns. Another is recent releases regarding fashion where I will showcase up and coming brands and their new clothes. I will also give brief overviews of the brands and what there about. To research I will look at fanzines as a whole, punk fanzines and also my own topics. Audience research will be gathered via existing info online, personal knowledge and some primary research such as surveys. How will the project be evaluated and reviewed: 50 words approx. HI will evaluate by firstly looking over my planning and analysing how the final product compares to my initial ideas. This should show me how effectively I planned, and ultimately how well I followed that plan. This will be broken down in my evaluation piece. The main way I want to evaluate is with feedback. Despite this being a college project I would quite like to put it online and therefore feedback is inevitable. I will analyse the given feedback but also provide surveys with more specific questions. Im hoping this feedback will provide me enough pointers for the next project, and I’m confident it will due to my aim of covering the same topic in all projects and the fact that the feedback will be given by people who are knowledgeable on this topic.
