Main area of activity: My main area of activity is video.
Target Audience
My target audience 16-24-year-olds and I am trying to keep my product as gender neutral as
possible. My product is going to be aimed at the C2DE demographic, with it being free and
showing a subculture people in the DE demographics would be interested in. I’m going to target
my product towards people in more urban areas, rather than rural because I think my product will
appeal to people living in cities a lot more. I’m going to aim my product at the psychographic type
of socially conscious type B because as I’m not trying to sell products or advertise anything, I feel
like this is the most suited psychographic. Whilst my primary audience is aimed at both genders,
the male demographic is my secondary audience, for this I will need to add more content that’s
aimed slightly more towards males. The uses and gratifications the viewer will get from my product
will be informing the viewer so they can learn and possibly satisfy curiosity and help them identify
with others who could be interested in the products topic and use as a topic for social interaction.
Rationale:
Throughout the year I have created a music video, a video game and a podcast and a magazine
as well as a 5-minute-long short film at the start of last year. Throughout the year I have learnt how
to use Premier, Photoshop and InDesign. Although Photoshop and In Design will not be useful for
making a documentary, Premier will. I will use Premier a lot to edit clips, interviews and photos
together which will really help me to create a good final product.
Project Concept:
My project is a documentary about punk rock. I want to create a documentary about this to
educate and inform people about the punk subculture. I will need to research a lot of different
aspects to create a good and informative documentary, such as the different types of music,
fashion and ideologies in the subculture. I will use existing documentaries for a lot of the research I
want to conduct because they already contain a lot of the information I need to find out to make my
project as good as it can be.
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed?
I plan to evaluate the work I am doing by doing an on-going evaluation at the end of every day
when I complete my work. When I have finished my project, I will complete a final evaluation
reflecting on my work and the final outcome. This process of constant refection and a final
evaluation will help me know what needs to be done in future projects as well as helping me
complete current projects
