My Career As An Educator
More than ten years ago, I began my career as an educator in Queen Anne s County, Maryland; a
suburban area of limited cultural or ethnical diversity. A few years later I, transitioned to Anne
Arundel County, Maryland where I worked at a Title I school in Annapolis, this school was an
urban suburban schoolwith more cultural, ethnical, and social economical diversity. Currently, I
work in Prince George s County, Maryland, at an urban school located in Hyattsville, with a large
amount of cultural and ethnical diversity. Each school was different in so many ways, I found it
easy to adapt to the different population with a similar level of enthusiasm, never losing sight of my
reason for being an educator, to educate young people to become productive, successful,
contributing members of a global society.
This easy of adoption to different school climates may be attributed to my natural leadership quality
as an Adaptive Aggressive (AA); one who aggressively pursue a goal, according to the Null s
Natural Life Energy Theory. As a natural adaptive aggressive, I am an asset to any organization,
able to contribute characteristics such as; resourcefulness, social awareness, self assuredness,
success oriented abilities, and my virtue of enthusiasm. These qualities are evident daily within my
organization from facilitating professional development, planning lessons with teachers, conducting
model lessons, and collaborating with members from various departments within the county

The Importance Of Animals In The Old Testament
If one were to ask what the most important animals in the Old Testament are, some of the most
common answers would be: doves, lambs, sheep, cows, and lions. However, people often forget
about the importance goats play in the Old Testament. Throughout the Old Testament goats play a
variety of important roles in everything from religious ceremonies, to everyday life, and even
measurement of wealth.
Goats Used For Religious Purposes God instructs animals are acceptable to use in religious
contexts. In Exodus 26:7, 36:14 15 God instructs the Israelites to make curtains for the tabernacle,
or the tent of the tabernacle as it is often referred to. The curtains were woven long enough to
hang from the top of the tabernacle, to the floor while keeping the first layer of curtains hidden
from sight. This symbolizes separation from the holiest place and the outside, and protection
from the elements. It is also said goat horns where used to hold oil for the tabernacle. Goats were
also used for sacrifices and offerings due to the covenant in place with God s people, sacrifices
where required for forgiveness as there couldn t be forgiveness without bloodshed. Goats were one
of the several animals used in sin offerings, (Ex 20:24; Lev 23:19; 2 Chr 29:21; Eze 43:25)
atonement offerings, (Lev 4:22 26) and fellowship offerings (Numbers 7).
Goats In Everyday Life
It is no surprise that different goats have different hair. No matter the hair, all goat hair can be
sheared and woven

Compare And Contrast World War Two Experiments
Prisoners of War have been tortured in many ways. Like, how the Japanese used to experiment
on Chinese and Koreans. During World War II, prisoners of war have been tortured, and
experimented on. Back then, people even have a place to design and test out experiments, they
call it Unit 731 . During World War II, Prisoners of War were tortured by many different ways,
just like how the boys in Lord of the Flies were tortured by their own captivity while on the
island. Prisoners of war (POW) were experimented in many different ways. One way they have
been experimented was when the Japanese tested out biological weapons on multiple prisoners
of war. Most of the individual used for the experiments were Chinese and Korean. (histclo,1).
This shows that prisoners of war were being experimented on and how they were being
experimented during World Ward II. This connects to Lord of the Flies because the boys were
tortured and experimented on by the beast . On page 207, the beast says, I m warning you. I m
going to get angry.... So don t try it on, my poor misguided boy, or else (Golding,207). This shows
that the beast was experimenting on Simon, and threatening him to do stuff or else he would get
hurt. This also shows that the beast has power over Simon, since Simon obviously doesn t want to
get hurt. Just like how the prisoners of war... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to histclo, POWs were used as slave laborers, working in brutal conditions, in many
others areas such as Japanese coal and copper mines and limestone quarries. This shows that the
Japanese worked prisoners of war really hard as a torture method. This connects to Lord of the
Flies because Jack were ordering the boys around while on the island. Jack spoke. Give me a
drink. (Golding, 215). This shows that Jack has full control over the boys in his group. Which
means he can make them do whatever he wants. Whether it s killing Ralph, or getting him

Unit 10 Lead Manage a Team within a health social care setting answers
Amanda Dickinson
AC 1.1, 1.2, 1.3
Syer Connolly (1996) describes a team system as a group of people who constitute a system of
interrelated entities and whose members share a common goal. They argue that team members need
to develop awareness of themselves and each other, and of their differences, through giving
descriptive feedback. This allows appreciation of differences, good contact and improved
communication. Trust, respect, team spirit and synergy may then emerge. Consequently this leads
to a highly developed awareness. The notion of a cycle more easily suggests the kind of continuous
process that teams go through and need to revisit as new members ... Show more content on

Clarity of purpose increases but plenty of uncertainties persist. Cliques form and there may be
conflict and power struggles. The team needs to be focused on its goals to avoid becoming
distracted by relationships and emotional issues. Compromises may be required to enable progress.
The leader coaches.
Norming stage 3
Agreement and consensus is largely formed among the team, who respond well to facilitation by
leader. Roles and responsibilities are clear and accepted. Big decisions are made by group
agreement. Smaller decisions may be delegated to individuals or small teams within group.
Commitment and unity is strong. The team may engage in fun and social activities. The team
discusses and develops its processes and working style. There is general respect for the leader and
some of leadership is more shared by the team. The leader facilitates and enables.
Performing stage 4
The team is more strategically aware; the team knows clearly why it is doing what it is doing.
The team has a shared vision and is able to stand on its own feet with no interference or
participation from the leader. There is a focus on over achieving goals, and the team makes most
of the decisions against criteria agreed with the leader. The team has a high degree of autonomy.
Disagreements occur but now they are resolved within the team positively and necessary changes to
processes and structure are made

Throughout fashion history, certain sartorial and manufacturing trends that eventually spread like
wildfire can be traced back to a particular designer. Think of Christian Dior s silhouette defining
New Look or Yves Saint Laurent s radical push towards prГЄt Г porter. Streetwear, the ever
popular genre of high end casual wear, is not one of them. Instead, the style is something of a
chimera, growing out of several different subcultures and geographic sources. Starting in the late

Fighting Against Terrorist Groups In The United States
The topic of fighting against terrorist groups is very complicated because there are multiple
groups/people in a variety of places around the world, it would almost be impossible to kill
everyone associated the terrorist groups.
(Al qaeda: 9/11 ISIS: Charlie Hebdo, Paris and San bernadino other groups I dvon t know the
attacks ISIL). The US should support certain countries in fighting against terrorist groups but
shouldn t send US troops to those countries to do the fighting . For this we need allies and enough
supply and strategies to help our allie fighting against them. The huge issue of terrorism may never
get resolved because everyone is so spread out. For example ISIS has declared provinces over
Algeria, Nygeria, Libya, Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan and Pakistan. This

When the US tries to kill terrorist groups they are making them angry. If the US keeps bombing
the groups and hurting the citizens more people will want to go against us and more terrorist
groups might even form from this problem. If the US helps the citizens around these problems
and gives them some supplies to move out of there country, the US will have a better chance of
making allies and also having a bigger platform to bomb on. Another tricky thing is that once we
kill off a terrorist group another one can form. It is hard to think of a way this will all work
without having everyone in danger of something new happening. Another very smart thing that we
can do is have the US help the countries that are going into fight but the US should not send
troops. We could be giving these other countries some supplies and helpful plans to help fight
against what is going on. We can make these people our allies if these problems go to an extreme
and the US need to come in a help

Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia Essay
Congenital adrenal hyperplasia is a well known autosomal recessive disorder and the vast
majority, approximately 95%, of cases are due to a deficiency of 21 alpha hydroxylase. The other
common type of CAH is caused by a deficiency of 11 beta hydroxylase. In both types of the
disorder, the adrenal gland is unable to produce sufficient amounts of cortisoland aldosterone. CAH
is estimated to manifest in 1 of every 15,000 live births. In the United States, the prevalence of the
disorder is lower in African American children in comparison to Caucasians. Moreover, the
decreased synthesis of cortisol results in diminished negative feedback of adrenocorticotropic
hormone(ATCH) and over secretion of ACTH. This pathological increase of ACTH in an attempt
to increase serum cortisol levels is prevented because of the lack of appropriate enzymes and
actually results in increased androgen... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

adults. Additionally, fertility rates in women with classic 21 alpha hydroxylase CAH are low,

The Air Quality Of China Urban Cities
What Do Motor Vehicles Do to the Air Quality in China Urban Cities?
China is developing at an unprecedented fast pace in recent years, it is now the second largest
economy in the worldwide with at least 7 percent annual growth in gross domestic product (GDP)
(See Appendix A). Unfortunately, this rapid economic growth comes with a price, excessive use
of fossil fuel leads to a very serious environmental issues to people s habitats, and the air they
breathe every day.
The environmental pollution, especially air pollution has always been a concern in China, a
documentary Under the Dome produced in February 28, 2015 by former China Central Television
well known journalist, Chai Jing. The release of this film brings environmental issues in China to a
new height. This film deeply investigated the air pollution in different cities in China, combined
footages of her interview with authorities who worked in the government, environment specialities
and business owners, as well as some shocking data in terms of the air quality in China. All the
information in the film indicated one brutal truth that China is losing its war dealing with air
pollution (See Appendix B).
According to Reuters, 90 percent of cities in China fail to meet air standard in 2014 (Stanway, Feb
1, 2015). Among the top ten worst air quality cities, seven out of ten cities are located in the heavy
industrial province of Hebei in China, which surrounds Beijing. The data of ambient air quality

Essay On Soto Syndrome
Sotos syndrome (OMIM 117550), was first described by Juan Sotos (Sotos et al., 1964) in five
patients with prenatal and postnatal overgrowth, characteristic facial appearance, advanced bone
age and developmental delay. The majority of cases are sporadic, but autosomal dominant
pedigrees have been published (Kurotaki et al., 2003).
Sotos syndrome also known as cerebral gigantism, characterized by excessive growth resulting in
tall stature and macrocephaly. These three cardinal features are each present in over 90% of cases
with SS (Tatton Brown and Rahman, 2007). Since the first description by (Sotos et al., 1964),
hundreds of cases have been reported to date, and the estimated incidence is 1/15,000 1/20,0001).
The typical overgrowth pattern of SS starts prenatally, resulting in higher mean birth length and
weight. Pronounced postnatal growth is obvious in the first 6 years of life, consistently displaying ...

More than 380 mutations in the NSD1 gene have been identified in people with Sotos syndrome.
However, In the Japanese population, the most common genetic change leading to Sotos syndrome
deletes genetic material from the region of chromosome 5 containing the NSD1 gene. In most other
populations, mutations within the gene itself are more frequent. These mutations include insertions
or deletions of a small amount of DNA and changes in single DNA base pairs that make up the
gene. Most mutations prevent one copy of the NSD1 gene from making any protein or lead to the
production of an abnormally small, nonfunctional version of the protein. Research suggests that a
reduced amount of NSD1 protein disrupts the normal activity of genes involved in growth and
development. However, it remains unclear exactly how a shortage of this protein during
development leads to overgrowth, learning disabilities, and the other signs and symptoms of Sotos
syndrome (Faravelli, 2005; Genetics Home Reference,

Melting Point Analysis Of Acetaminophen
ABSTRACT:
The objective of this lab is to synthesize acetaminophen from p aminophenol. The techniques used
to do so, consist of: reflux with heat to allow reaction to occur at a reasonable time period,
extraction and filtration to isolate the desired product, and characterization of the product by
analyzing IR spectras and melting points. Acetaminophen considered synthesized, primarily due to
the IR spectrum exhibiting all the bond vibrations is the amide group. The percent yield of 124.6%
imply that there was a mechanical error that occurred, thus, also tampering with the progression of
the chemical reaction. The wide melting point range of 165 C 169 C denote the impurity of the
acetaminophen product.
INTRODUCTION
Chemical synthesis is an imperative technique most relevant to organic chemists. Synthesis
employs a succession of chemical reactions by using pre existing structures to make new and
functional ones. A combination of lab techniques could be developed in order to synthesize and
attain the desired product. This particular experiment calls for the use for reflux, extraction,
recrystallization, infrared spectroscopy, and melting point analysis. The overall objective of this lab
is to utilize these steps to synthesize acetaminophen from p aminophenol and characterize it .
To synthesize acetaminophen, calls for the following chemical reaction:

Child Labour Is An International Issue
Intro:
Child labour is one of the many things that is happening today in our world. A child does many
different types of work and activities in their daily life, within factories in different countries.
According to the Fresh Quotes You have the power to create a better future. Treat children well.
This quote shows how some people are against this issue. It makes people think how different
children life are across the world. The reasons behind this are children being involved in child
labor are suffering from unsafe work conditions, the lack of education, and a loss of their childhood.
Others might be poverty, illiteracy, ignorance, and poor legal system. These are countless cause why
child labour is an international issue that might promote the business of ruthless business investors,
however it destroys the future of children. Therefore child labour should be stopped. Body 1:
Claim 1:Terrible working conditions for children.
Support 1:
Factories do not have any safety measures in place for children to be protected from machinery or
equipment that they work with.
Evidence 1:
It is work which, by its nature or the circumstances in which it is carried out, is likely to harm the
health, safety or morals of children (ILO)
Elaboration 1:
Children work in dangerous and also unhealthy conditions which sometimes result in accidents that
cause injury or death. They are forced to lift heavy objects that could cause chronic problems at a

Changing role of the school principal
The techno century s Leadership From Principals to CEO (Chief Education Officer)
Abstract
The techno century s principalship From Principals to CEO (Chief Education Officer)
The role of the principal is multi faceted. The techno century s principalship in its epitomized role is
about ensuring the relevance of aims, content, practices, and outcomes of formal education to digital
generation. In accepting this coveted role, individual and organisational capability will be
imperative, as will the development of individuals and communities to create and walk the new

These shall be leaders having a strong moral purpose and commitment to working to help all
schools improve performance. This view that, in the techno century the days of the self
contained, stand alone school will be superseded, is also argued by the eminent Australian
educationalist Hedley Beare: The best schools are part of a living ecology of learning localities
and sites, and can access learning modules from almost anywhere. The school, therefore, acts not
as a sole and exclusive provider of programs for students enrolled, and does not assume its own
curriculum offerings are confined to its own campus. Rather, it acts as a learning broker to find,
contract in, and then manage what is available on its web of contacts. The opportunities for
leadership within this model are immense. The walls of the school are removed and educators of all
levels can contribute to the development of individuals, groups, schools, and networks both
national and international. The challenge for each nation is to develop the culture and the capacity
for the new style of leadership.
Now as effective leadership is recognised as a key feature of successful schools, however, is the
style of leadership needed in the techno century the same as what was required in the 20th century?
We can use examples from industry and business to help us understand leadership for the techno
century. Jim Collins has a five level hierarchy of leadership: Level V: Executive. Builds enduring

Ice Age Cycles
Due to recent increases in the Earths average temperature Climate Change has become a highly
discussed topic in society. This has caused individuals to solely focus on the increasing
temperatures of today and completely neglect temperatures that the planet has experienced in the
past. When looking at paleoclimate data one can clearly see the fluxuations in the ice age cycles
(periods of cooling and warming). Ice age cycles are amplified by positive feedback systems that
make the earthcooler or warmer depending upon the physical process that is being altered. In his
response Bruce Parker, a physical oceanographer, discussed the impact that these positive feedback
loops have on Earths overall temperature and how scientists have yet to figure out what causes the
amplifying mechanisms to switch from warming to cooling.... Show more content on

In my opinion, in order to understand the increasing temperatures that the globe is experiencing
today, Earths past climates must be studied. The study of Earths past climates is called
paleoclimatology and it has led to the understanding that for the past 2.4 million years Earth has
been undergoing times of extreme cooling and warming. However, what the data has yet to
explain what causes the planet to switch from cooling cycles to warming cycles. As a scientist I
agree with Dr. Parker when he says that more individuals need to look at this question. I feel this
way because if scientists are able to explain the sudden change from heating to cooling they may
be able to manipulate variables that are present in today s society, potentially slowing down or
reversing global warming. This concept would drastically alter the way the world looks at climate
change by enabling humans to actively change geological processes they otherwise would be

Student Competency Essay
The years prior to kindergarten heavily impact one s future and their overall academic literacy.
School readiness, a multidimensional concept, possess the ability to convey advantages in
academic success in school. Children that prematurely attend school have shown more success in
development of early skills in math and reading. These individuals tend to show superior academic
success, attain higher levels of education, and have a higher chance of securing employment (1).
One s ability to identify letters, execute abstract and logical reasoning, and perform fine motor
skills these factors support the claim that early exposure to academic material increases the
likeliness of competency. In recent years, the number of young children attaining adequate literacy
through early childhoodexposure has increased overwhelmingly. During the beginning years of a
child s life, regarding socioeconomic status, ethnicity, or religion, these factors determine a child s
success in attaining academic competency.
Children who live in poverty stricken countries tend to perform inferior to that of children in middle
class households. Over 71% of Euro American children performed at a higher grade level compared
to African American children. This gap of performance follows the affected child throughout their
educational career and may cause a deficit in the number of students graduating high school and
postsecondary educational institutions (4). Even if a poverty stricken child graduated, many

Color In Rochester High School
Color is a universal, nonverbal language, and we all intuitively know how to speak it, a color
consultant, Leslie Harrington says (Freeman 2.) Color is an everyday part of life for most people.
Everything that we see is in color, from the clothes we put on in the morning, to the stop lights
while driving, and the colors of the walls in our classrooms, bedrooms, kitchens, you name it, color
is in everything. With that, when you walk into Rochester High School, you see the same three
colors over and over again, and it is not only in the high school, but in every school in the district.
Orange, Blue, and beige. It is incredibly boring to see the same three colors every single day
during the school years, for 12 years of our lives, because every school in the district has the same
color scheme. Therefore, we should paint the walls of Rochester High School, and maybe even the
other schools in the district, with a bright yellow color, because it will directly affect the emotions
and attitudes of the students and faculty, and will provide the school with an individual look....

Examples Of Ontological Argument
The Ontological Argument is a deductive argument in that it endeavors to demonstrate that its
premises lead to a logical conclusion which can t be doubted. For this situation, rationalists have
endeavored to demonstrate that the expression God Exists is an analytic proclamation in that it is
logically incomprehensible for it not to be the situation, generally as it is outlandish for a lone wolf
to not be an unmarried man. This sort of argument is known as from the earlier on the grounds that
it depends on logical reasoning. Descartes ontological argumentis both a standout amongst the most
interesting and inadequately comprehended parts of his philosophy. Interest with the argument
originates from the push to demonstrate God s existence... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For both men, the meaning of God is urgent to the argument. Anselm had expressed that God is that
than which nothing more noteworthy can be imagined . By this, he implied that it was impractical
to consider anything more prominent than God and logically, it must be better for this God to exist
in reality and not simply in the psyche. Along these lines, in the event that we acknowledge this
definition, and Anselm felt that even Atheists would, we should logically presume that the best
conceivable being must exist in reality, generally there would be the likelihood of something more
prominent existing. In this manner, logically, God exists! Anselm s second type of the argument
concentrated on God s important existence , again covering with subjects later proposed by

Lela Vernon s Components Of The Creole Culture In Belize
Culture comes within language, symbols, values and beliefs. These things define what a culture
is like. There are many cultures in the world but only specific ones are within a society. Here in
Belize there are many but the one that will be elaborated is the creole culture. Lela Vernon was a
Belizean who was a Krioland promoted it in everything she did. For instance, she talked, lived and
song using the Kriol culture. She contributed a lot of things to the creole culture here in Belize.
Lela Vernon expresses components of Belizean culture by showing them while singing. For
instance, the words she uses in her songs. The song Ah Waahn Noa Hoo Seh Kriol Noh Ga No

Rhino Poaching And The Exotic Animal Trade
Would you change your lifestyle to save the existence of a species? In western society, it is our
lifestyle to go to the doctors when you are sick, drive to work and buy food from a grocery store.
It is hard to remember that around the globe there are different customs and ways of life. A lot of
people make the means to live by working the land, owning their own shops, fishing, and hunting
animals. Poachers in Africa make their living by hunting elephants, lions, rhinos, and other
exotic animals. Countries in Asia, like Vietnam and China, have been using rhino horn
medicinally for generations. Would they be willing to change their entire lifestyle to save the
existence of a species? I analyzed an image created by the World Wildlife Fund that addresses
rhino poaching and the exotic animal trade. There are two subjects in this image, the rhino and
those within the rhino. The rhino is being captured by people, but at the same time, its horn is
already being removed. I think that this represents the huge market for rhino horn. We are
collecting as much horn as we can as fast as we can do it. This idea of our insatiable appetite for
exotic animal products is also reinforced by how the horn is being removed. Somebody, with a
chainsaw, is cutting off the horn below the base of it. This unsustainable practice will kill the
animal. If the horn was cut above the base it would grow back and the rhino could continue on, but
it is common for poachers to remove as much horn as

Deforestation of Our Rainforests
The most destructive and harmful tragedy that our rainforests, specifically the Amazon, suffer from
is deforestation. Deforestation is the clearing or destruction of land throughout forests.
Unfortunately, human beings are the number one cause of deforestation throughout the world.
The reason if this is simply because we use the wood mainly for things like hydroelectric dams
that power communities, palm oil for its biofuel resourcefulness, and the mining for diamond and
gold. Another reason would be intentional fires that are used to destroy acres of forest in a quick
amount of time for things like construction. Using fires to clear out land quickly is used because
taking the time to clear out the land for what will be built would be slower using any other process.
The wood can be useful but little do they know that deforestationis extremely harmful to the
environment. Deforestation has many effects on the environment. First of all trees make oxygenand
oxygen is a necessity for human life Trees exchange carbon dioxide(Green house gas) and turns it
into oxygen which again we need to survive, if the carbon dioxide isn t changed fast enough then
green house gases build up and the earth heats up carding to the cycle of Global Warming . Not
only that but destroying trees destroys countless ecosystems and organisms that are a part of nature,
and changing ecosystems and habitats can affect many animals. Destroying the trees will cause a
habitat change that will disrupt the

In this essay I will be discussing the importance of echocardiography in clinical practice as they are
used for screening, diagnosis, guiding treatment, assessing recovery and monitoring care. I will be
discussing the principles in which make echocardiography possible, the importance of selecting the
correct electromedical technique, the advantages and disadvantages and the clinical constraints
which may occur within different patient groups.
Echocardiography is routinely used in the diagnosis, management, and follow up of patients with

Sound consists of oscillating waves of compression and decompression of a transmitting medium
i.e. air or water, traveling at a fixed velocity (StГёylen, 2015). The frequency of sound waves
refers to the number oscillations per second, with one cycle per second is considered a unit of 1
hertz (Henderson, 2014). Sound waves oscillating above 20,000 Hz are categorised as ultrasound
waves. As sound waves are a transverse wave forms this means the only variant is its frequency and
wavelength despite the location in the spectrum. The wavelength is defined as the distance
travelled by sound in one cycle, or the distance between two identical points in the wave cycle i.e.
the distance from each oscillation (Cura RodriМЃguez, SeguiМЃ and Nicolau, 2012). In regards to
wave forms the wavelength shows very little significance as it is inversely proportional to frequency.
In reference to the structure a waveform, the significance of the wavelength is one of the main
factors affecting the resolution of an ultrasound image, this is because smaller wavelengths (higher
frequency) are absorbed more by soft tissue. This variable absorption rate with structures of
different impedances allows distinctive structures to be clearly represented. In echocardiography,
the wavelengths are often manipulated in order to view deeper structures within the patient but
compromising with resolution. In principle of

Analysis of the battle of Beersheba Essay
History learning task
The Battle of Beersheba was fought on 31 October 1917, when two infantry and two mounted
divisions of the Egyptian Expeditionary Force (EEF), attacked units of the Yildirim Army Group
garrisoning Beersheba. This EEF victory began the offensive, which six weeks later resulted in the
capture of Jerusalem, during the Sinai and Palestine campaign of World War I. I think that the
Australian soldiers were very effective in winning Beersheba although the charge was born of the
desperation of having no water and needing to capture the wells in Beersheba.

the charging soldiers but as they grew closer the field guns could not lower anymore and therefore

not be as powerful as the field guns but there were more and they could be aimed. But some
extreme luck, in the confusion of the charge many of the Turks forgot to change their sights from

Looking at the chart the first dimension of culture plotted is individualism collectivism. This
dimension addresses how people define themselves and their relationships with others. Cultures that
fall on the individualism side of the continuum share four characteristics. First, such cultures
consider the individual to be the most important entity in any social setting. Second, individualistic
cultures stress independence rather than dependence. Third, individualistic cultures reward
individual achievement. The last characteristic is; individualistic cultures value each individual s

Automated Behavior Analysis Paper
The Boston Marathon bombing is instructive in regard to automated behavior analysis. Had a
system existed with the capacity to detect when the Tsarnaev brothers placed their devices and
walked away, flag it as an unusual event and alert observers to this occurrence, law enforcement
personnel could have been notified and the area cleared. Additionally, after being alerted to this
suspicious behavior, authorities could have actively tracked their movements and directed law
enforcement to their location, resulting in a manhunt measured in hours rather than days. Although
automated behavior analysis may not have outright prevented the bombing, the benefit of increased
public safety, via casualty reduction and quicker suspect apprehension, is difficult to refute. The

ABORAT provides a solution to these privacy related concerns as well. The use of smart
cameras coupled with its distributive nature means images are processed and analyzed by the
cameras rather than a human observer. As was previously noted, images are only transmitted
when useful to the operator (Appiah Hunter, 2009, p. 3), therefore, surveillance systems become
less obtrusive by way of observers viewing less video. It is true that observers would have the
ability to access the cameras in real time, but training, supervision and agency policies could be
established to set limits on how and when direct access would occur. While not a be all and end all

Complementing this social process is the theory elaborated by Hofstede (1980) regarding the
cultural dimensions of respective national culture influencing the behaviours of individual and
group inside organizations. Based initially on four principles later enhanced with a fifth element
detailed as follows, power distance (PDI), individualism/collectivism (IDV), uncertainty
avoidance (UAI), masculinity/femininity (MAS), and long term orientation (LTO). Those have
been studied in a horde of diverse contexts and analysed in a multiplicity of different angles. For
the purpose of this study and to avoid a theoretical dispersion in the realm of this complex and
vast theory only two aspects have been retained to be the central emphasis of the exploration.
Power distance (PDI) and individualism (IDV) were recollected to evaluate their impact on the

What is the diagnostic accuracy of a new dynamic clinical test for the detection of meniscal tears?
a)This might be of relevance because the current diagnostic gold standard (MRI) is expensive and

b)Are current testing methods inaccurate? Are clinical tests inadequate compared to MRI?
Introduction seemed contradictory; as seventy five per cent accuracy of diagnosis can be made on

accuracy. Very brief essentially, non existent literature review. Besides mention of the population
susceptible to meniscal injury, other relevant information pertaining to the injury wasn t briefed.

over what exactly sensitivity and specificity imply in the results. Sensitivity being how good the test
is at detecting meniscal tears and specificity being how good the test is at identifying normal knee

Baseball Bat Physics
Does the Weight Affect the Distance a Baseball Will be Hit?
Baseball bats have not always been the same shape and size they are today. Many baseball players
were known to make their own bats. Overall, until real regulations depicting length and shape, it
really didn t matter what players used. This experiment will not have any hard parts when
conducting it other than measuring the length away from home plate the ball goes. Another hard
part is figuring out which baseballs are hot by which bat. One way to solve both of these problems
is to measure the distance before moving on to test the other bats.
However, in the more than 40 years since they were first introduced, they have evolved into superb
hitting instruments that, left unregulated, can significantly outperform wooden bats. (Brief History
of the Baseball) This quote shows that the aluminum bats, which will be used to test, are better than
wooden bats. A baseball will travel further when hit with an aluminum baseball bat, rather than a
standard wooden bat. (Swing velocity of aluminum and wooden baseball bats) Early batters were
known to sometimes whittle bats to suit their own hitting style. As you might imagine, the results
were quite diverse there were flat bats, round bats, short ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

After a period of time, the reaming copper was gathered.
This copper was then worked cold. Until the development of smelters which could get the copper to
a truly molten state.
This molten copper was then moulded into the desired shape.
The malachite is heated to create copper oxide with the release of carbon dioxide.
The copper oxide is then heated with carbon to get copper
This copper is not pure enough to be used ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This copper can then be smelted and worked into shape at a molten consistency.
CuCO3xCu(OH)2 в†’ 2 CuO + CO2 + H2O
The copper oxide is heated along with carbon.
2 CuO + C в†’ 2 Cu + CO Cu2CO3(OH)2 2CuO + CO2 + H2O
2CuO + C 2Cu + CO2
Both the modern and ancient way of extracting copper from malachite involves the heating of the
malachite with a form of carbon (pure carbon and Charcoal). The carbon involved is more reactive
than the copper and a displacement reaction occurs, this happens in both methods; however the
ancient method could not see the copper meet a truly molten state for some time, whilst the modern
method can.
The difference between the ancient technique and modern technique to extract copper from
malachite is prominent after the heating stage. The ancient peoples just worked the impure
copper when It was cold after it had been heated, which was very difficult and time consuming.
Whilst the modern peoples go a step further and use electrolysis after it has been heated to form
a near perfectly pure sample of copper. The copper is then smelted so it can be moulded into its
desired shape. The main reason for the difference in technique and result is the technology and
knowledge difference in each time period. The modern people have greater technology and
knowledge and can therefor get a purer sample of

Sledding Day Research Paper
My Sledding Day When I was 16 years old and my family and I still lived in Missouri, which
seems to get a whole bunch more snow than Ohio does during the winter, but since I was
homeschooled I didn t get very many snow days off. However, I remember this one certain snow
day where my family and friends had a great day sledding, spending time together, and just having a
fun time. On this snowday I remember my mom getting a call from my older brother s roommate s
motherto join her and her kids in a day of sledding, my mom said yes and got directions to where
we would meet up with them. She then had me, my brother, and my two sisters get ready for the
day trip. We didn t really have many sleds though so we had to go to multiple stores looking for
sleds. Although most stores were sold out because it was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We then decided to build some snowmen and crash through them and we also built some forts to
hide in, crash through. We also tried to dodge the snowballs that we threw at each other. We also
made some ramps out of the snow that we would try to fly from or pull stunts off like jumping
over each other, and I remember every once in a while someone got ran over or ended up running
each other over.
After sledding all day and being out in the cold, we finally decide to go get some fast food, and it
was either McDonald s or Wendy s. After we got our food we talked for a while, warmed up in the
building and then started to get ready to head home. After the day of sledding I caught a cold
because I get sick very easily but to me, it was worth the sickness to be able to have fun with my
friends and have a snow day for once in a while. I had a lot of fun sledding and playing in the snow
with my family and friends and even though I got sick I made some pretty great memories on this
awesome snow

  • 2. My Career As An Educator More than ten years ago, I began my career as an educator in Queen Anne s County, Maryland; a suburban area of limited cultural or ethnical diversity. A few years later I, transitioned to Anne Arundel County, Maryland where I worked at a Title I school in Annapolis, this school was an urban suburban schoolwith more cultural, ethnical, and social economical diversity. Currently, I work in Prince George s County, Maryland, at an urban school located in Hyattsville, with a large amount of cultural and ethnical diversity. Each school was different in so many ways, I found it easy to adapt to the different population with a similar level of enthusiasm, never losing sight of my reason for being an educator, to educate young people to become productive, successful, contributing members of a global society. This easy of adoption to different school climates may be attributed to my natural leadership quality as an Adaptive Aggressive (AA); one who aggressively pursue a goal, according to the Null s Natural Life Energy Theory. As a natural adaptive aggressive, I am an asset to any organization, able to contribute characteristics such as; resourcefulness, social awareness, self assuredness, success oriented abilities, and my virtue of enthusiasm. These qualities are evident daily within my organization from facilitating professional development, planning lessons with teachers, conducting model lessons, and collaborating with members from various departments within the county ... • 3. The Importance Of Animals In The Old Testament If one were to ask what the most important animals in the Old Testament are, some of the most common answers would be: doves, lambs, sheep, cows, and lions. However, people often forget about the importance goats play in the Old Testament. Throughout the Old Testament goats play a variety of important roles in everything from religious ceremonies, to everyday life, and even measurement of wealth. Goats Used For Religious Purposes God instructs animals are acceptable to use in religious contexts. In Exodus 26:7, 36:14 15 God instructs the Israelites to make curtains for the tabernacle, or the tent of the tabernacle as it is often referred to. The curtains were woven long enough to hang from the top of the tabernacle, to the floor while keeping the first layer of curtains hidden from sight. This symbolizes separation from the holiest place and the outside, and protection from the elements. It is also said goat horns where used to hold oil for the tabernacle. Goats were also used for sacrifices and offerings due to the covenant in place with God s people, sacrifices where required for forgiveness as there couldn t be forgiveness without bloodshed. Goats were one of the several animals used in sin offerings, (Ex 20:24; Lev 23:19; 2 Chr 29:21; Eze 43:25) atonement offerings, (Lev 4:22 26) and fellowship offerings (Numbers 7). Goats In Everyday Life It is no surprise that different goats have different hair. No matter the hair, all goat hair can be sheared and woven ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Compare And Contrast World War Two Experiments Prisoners of War have been tortured in many ways. Like, how the Japanese used to experiment on Chinese and Koreans. During World War II, prisoners of war have been tortured, and experimented on. Back then, people even have a place to design and test out experiments, they call it Unit 731 . During World War II, Prisoners of War were tortured by many different ways, just like how the boys in Lord of the Flies were tortured by their own captivity while on the island. Prisoners of war (POW) were experimented in many different ways. One way they have been experimented was when the Japanese tested out biological weapons on multiple prisoners of war. Most of the individual used for the experiments were Chinese and Korean. (histclo,1). This shows that prisoners of war were being experimented on and how they were being experimented during World Ward II. This connects to Lord of the Flies because the boys were tortured and experimented on by the beast . On page 207, the beast says, I m warning you. I m going to get angry.... So don t try it on, my poor misguided boy, or else (Golding,207). This shows that the beast was experimenting on Simon, and threatening him to do stuff or else he would get hurt. This also shows that the beast has power over Simon, since Simon obviously doesn t want to get hurt. Just like how the prisoners of war... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to histclo, POWs were used as slave laborers, working in brutal conditions, in many others areas such as Japanese coal and copper mines and limestone quarries. This shows that the Japanese worked prisoners of war really hard as a torture method. This connects to Lord of the Flies because Jack were ordering the boys around while on the island. Jack spoke. The school, therefore, acts not as a sole and exclusive provider of programs for students enrolled, and does not assume its own curriculum offerings are confined to its own campus. Rather, it acts as a learning broker to find, contract in, and then manage what is available on its web of contacts. The opportunities for leadership within this model are immense. Ice age cycles are amplified by positive feedback systems that make the earthcooler or warmer depending upon the physical process that is being altered. Sound consists of oscillating waves of compression and decompression of a transmitting medium i.e. air or water, traveling at a fixed velocity (StГёylen, 2015). The frequency of sound waves refers to the number oscillations per second, with one cycle per second is considered a unit of 1 hertz (Henderson, 2014). Sound waves oscillating above 20,000 Hz are categorised as ultrasound waves. As sound waves are a transverse wave forms this means the only variant is its frequency and wavelength despite the location in the spectrum. The wavelength is defined as the distance travelled by sound in one cycle, or the distance between two identical points in the wave cycle i.e. the distance from each oscillation (Cura RodriМЃguez, SeguiМЃ and Nicolau, 2012). In regards to wave forms the wavelength shows very little significance as it is inversely proportional to frequency. In reference to the structure a waveform, the significance of the wavelength is one of the main factors affecting the resolution of an ultrasound image, this is because smaller wavelengths (higher frequency) are absorbed more by soft tissue. This variable absorption rate with structures of different impedances allows distinctive structures to be clearly represented. In echocardiography, the wavelengths are often manipulated in order to view deeper structures within the patient but compromising with resolution. In principle of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Analysis of the battle of Beersheba Essay History learning task The Battle of Beersheba was fought on 31 October 1917, when two infantry and two mounted divisions of the Egyptian Expeditionary Force (EEF), attacked units of the Yildirim Army Group garrisoning Beersheba. This EEF victory began the offensive, which six weeks later resulted in the capture of Jerusalem, during the Sinai and Palestine campaign of World War I. I think that the Australian soldiers were very effective in winning Beersheba although the charge was born of the desperation of having no water and needing to capture the wells in Beersheba. That was when an even greater threat was unveiled machine guns they may not be as powerful as the field guns but there were more and they could be aimed. But some extreme luck, in the confusion of the charge many of the Turks forgot to change their sights from 1600m and therefore fired over the charging Australian s heads if the Turkish machine gunners had adjusted their sights then the battle may well have turned sour for the Light horse. (The Australian, 2007) (Lancers, 2013) In source 2, which is believed to be the only photo to have been taken of the battle of Beersheba, you can see the light horse charging and that they are using swords. This was because in those days guns were unwieldy and hard to load so it was easier to just use swords this created an insane battle but the key to it was speed because as soon as the horsemen got passed the trenches the Turkish would be cast into disarray. Even as the horsemen vaulted the trenches a huge cheer went up from not only the English infantry but also some of the Turks, such was the magnificence of the feat. After ... Had a system existed with the capacity to detect when the Tsarnaev brothers placed their devices and walked away, flag it as an unusual event and alert observers to this occurrence, law enforcement personnel could have been notified and the area cleared. Additionally, after being alerted to this suspicious behavior, authorities could have actively tracked their movements and directed law enforcement to their location, resulting in a manhunt measured in hours rather than days. Although automated behavior analysis may not have outright prevented the bombing, the benefit of increased public safety, via casualty reduction and quicker suspect apprehension, is difficult to refute. Baseball bats have not always been the same shape and size they are today. Many baseball players were known to make their own bats. Overall, until real regulations depicting length and shape, it really didn t matter what players used. This experiment will not have any hard parts when conducting it other than measuring the length away from home plate the ball goes. Another hard part is figuring out which baseballs are hot by which bat. One way to solve both of these problems is to measure the distance before moving on to test the other bats. However, in the more than 40 years since they were first introduced, they have evolved into superb hitting instruments that, left unregulated, can significantly outperform wooden bats. Whilst the modern peoples go a step further and use electrolysis after it has been heated to form a near perfectly pure sample of copper.
