Theme Of Imperialism In Jane Eyre
Scottish author, Christopher North (also known as John Wilson) once said, His Majesty s dominions,
on which the sun never sets in reference to the large span of territory occupied by the British Empire.
At the height of its power, Great Britain held territory on all of the seven continents and ruled over
about one fourth of the world s population. A map of the British Empire in the 19th century published
by the History of England shows that Great Britain occupied areas such as Canada, Australia, Egypt,
South Africa, modern day India, Honduras, and many other lands. The primary purpose of British
imperialism was to acquire as much foreign territory as possible in order to gain abundant amounts of
raw materials and to create a market for British ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The powerful male roles, such as Edward Rochester, seen throughout the novel represent Great
Britain, while the weaker female roles, such as Bertha Mason, represent the imperialized countries. In
chapter 14 of Jane Eyre, Mr. Rochester demonstrates his assertive dominance to Jane when he asks,
Do you agree with me that I have a right to be a little masterful, abrupt, perhaps exacting, sometimes,
on the grounds I stated, namely, that I am old enough to be your father, and that I have battled through
a varied experience with many men of many nations, and roamed over half the globe (Brontë 152).
Rochester demonstrates the power of Great Britain here by claiming that he has the given right to take
control and be the ruling figure just like Great Britain did to weaker countries. Bertha Mason parallels
the countries being colonized because she is depicted as weak and someone who needs to be isolated
and controlled. In Reader, I Buried Him : Apocalypse and Empire in Jane Eyre. , Tracy agrees that
many critics rightly place Bertha at the centre of the novel s signifying systems, since social, cultural,
imperial, and religious concerns are encoded in her relationship with Rochester . This becomes evident
in chapter 26 of Jane Eyre when Rochester is explaining Bertha s character to Jane. Rochester states
that Bertha Mason is mad; she came of a mad family; idiots and maniacs through three

Minors Committing Violent Crimes
Minors who committed violent crimes end up usually categorized with adult penalties, instead of
being classified as minors penalties. The teenagers classified with adult penalties end up in prison
instead of juvenile hall tend to receive a horrible fate if not worse. I oppose the thought of juveniles
who have committed violent crimes should try as adults, a point that needs emphasizing since many
people agree that minors who committed violent crimes belong in a juvenile penitentiary. Which, is
how it should be since the juveniles are not of legal age to try as adults. What pushes the matter is
seeing how severe the crime committed was people believe that the minors are aware of what they are
doing at the time of their action. Minors need aid ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It seems that violent video games can not only turn an at risk child up to a dial on their behaviors but
also low risk children into a school shooter (Mozes 5). Video games have also been put on the radar as
to one of the root problems of minors committing violent acts. If a child began playing violent video
games at a young age, then he might think that violence in real life is the same as the game violence
and that it doesn t have a real impact on others (Gilad 29). While kids play violent video games, they
re not only playing for fun. They are analyzing the which changes their behavior and actions due to
thought process for example, They start to expect people to behave more aggressively toward them,
and they tend to see aggressive solutions as being more appropriate for solving problems (Mozes 5).
An understated factor leading to minor violence would have to be bullying. Gifted youngsters who are
bullied for being who they are, eventually would either retaliate or change themselves to fit into
society so that they won t get bullied. The gifted students suffer from extreme anxiety, dangerous
depression, and sometimes, violence... ( Gifted Kids 6). The quote shows that bullying can factor into
many different issues, with violence being one of them. Watching videos of school fights caused by
bullying taught me there

More Space Shuttle Experiments Take Flight Summary
The article More Space Shuttle Experiments Take Flight, talks about a unique mentorship program for
the ages of elementary children. The mentorship program prepares experiments that have been
conducted in flight on space shuttle missions, students have the chance to study simulations that have
happened in space in a classroom setting. For example, students study the effect of spaceflight on
seeds and brine shrimp germinated/ hatched in the classroom. The article includes the students and the
teachers, it is a nationwide mentorship program that is engaging students to move on to the next set of
space shuttle experiment studies. Several schools are participating in these different series of space
shuttle experiments and the experiments vary depending on the age level and interest.
What I love about these space shuttle experiments is the fact that the students and teachers are
involved together. There is communication throughout all the schools involved and unanswered
questions are always given an answer. When students in the classroom are given an experiment like
this, it is going to create a learning environment that is enjoyable for learners. The author of the
article, Robert ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The four different control groups allowed students to examine the effects on germination of seeds
exposed to a hostile space environment. The groups encouraged different studies but the total outcome
allowed students the chance to learn about different effects that space has on different seeds. In order
for the experiments to work there had to be teams in order to simulate a collaborative research
environment. The collaboration in these experiments taught students about the space environment and

Titration Investigation Essay examples
Titration Investigation
Aim:
The aim of my investigation is to determine the solubility of calcium Hydroxide solution with the aid
of the titration process.
Titration can be defined as the method of determining the concentration of a substance in solution by
adding to it a standard reagent of known concentration in carefully measured amounts until a reaction
of definite and known proportion is completed, as shown by a color change or by electrical
measurement, and then calculating the unknown concentration.
An example could be, a given volume of a solution of unknown acidity may be titrated with a base of
known concentration until complete neutralization has occurred. This point is ... Show more content

From the pH at the equivalence point, the dissociation constant of the acidic or basic group can be
determined (see chemical equilibrium). If a compound contains several different acidic or basic
groups, the titration curve will show several sigmoid shaped curves like steps and the dissociation
constant of each group can be obtained from the pH at its corresponding equivalence point.
I have now explained the basis of the Titration methodology; I will now have to choose the
appropriate compounds in order to make sure that the experiment is carried out in the appropriate
manner. I will now display a table containing the different compunds for my availability:
Strong acid
Weak acid
Strong alkali
Weak alkali
Hydrochloric acid
Ethanoic acid
Sodium Hydroxide
Ammonia solution
Nitric acid
Ethandioic acid
Potassium Hydroxide
Sodium Catbonate
Sulphuric acid
Calcium Hydroxide
Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate
This table will aid us into the right choice of indicator. The reason for doing so is that some aspects of
the Titration process have to be very accurate. Depending upon the strength of an alkali and acid the
right indicator is chosen:
* A Titration between a strong acid and a weak alkali requires a methyl orange

Now Government of Malaysia plans to have a telephony penetration rate of 50% for the whole
country and 25% for the rural areas by year 2020 (State of Hawaii Government, 2002). Scrutinizing
the background of Malaysian telecommunication sector, competition can be seen as main factor by the
telecommunication service provider companies. Companies like Sapura Digital Sdn. Bhd., Celcom
and Mobikom Berhad have gone through a market evaluation stating the fact that their companies
either should be merged with giant and more competitive companies or to be gone through potential
bankruptcies. This reflects a fact as how the market is being penetrated and flooded by the
competitors. Only Telekom Malaysia (TM) Sdn. Bhd., with its TM Touch services has managed to
maintain its credible presence in the industry. TM has been ranked as one of the leading
telecommunication service providers in the entire Asia with significant investments in overseas.

Conscription During WWI
Time Ameliorates Lingual Wounds
Differences of belief between different ethnic, cultural, and racial groups are undoubtedly the biggest
contributor to disputes within the history of the world. WWI started due to a disagreement between
Austria and Hungary, and WWII started because Hitler s beliefs differed from those of the Jewish.
Despite being one of the most accepting countries in the world, Canada is no exception. Since
confederation, there have always been constant disputes between different groups of Canadians,
mainly the French and English community residing in Canada. Although both groups belong to the
same nation, discord arose mainly due to language barriers and different backgrounds. This being said,

During the 1960s, the Quiet Revolution occurred in Canada, a struggle in regards to French Canadians
becoming integrated into Canadian society. It was also during this time that many notable separatist
movements emerged from the depths of Quebec, including the Parti Québécois and the Bloc
Québécois. The Bloc Québécois began as a leftist movement but quickly grew into a party by 1963;
similarly, the Parti Québécois was formed in 1968. They mainly gained support because French
Canadians believed their rights were being compromised by English Canadians. Krueger states in
Encyclopedia Britannica, French Canadian nationalists favoured some form of enhanced status for
Quebec: special status within confederation, a new form of association on the basis of equality with
English Canada, or complete independence as a sovereign country. On November 15, 1976, the Parti
Québécois finally came into power in Quebec. Despite coming very close to separating over the years
with a vote turnout of 49.4 to 50.6 in 1991, the Parti Québécois never managed to truly fulfill its
purpose of separating from Canada. This was in part due to new language rights introduced to Canada

What Is Literary Nonsense In Alice In Wonderland
Nonsense
Nonsense Literature or Literary Nonsense balances elements that make sense with some that do not
with the effect of subverting language conventions or logical reasoning even though the most well
known form of literary nonsense is nonsense verse. The effect of nonsense is often caused by an
excess of meaning rather than a lack of it it s humor is derived from it s nonsensical nature rather than
wit or the joke of a punchline. Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, who is better known as Lewis Carroll, has
authored diverse amount of poems, novels, and short stories in his career. The Hunting of the Snark
display his wonderful ability in the genre of literary nonsense. However, Carroll is most distinguished
for his infant s nonsense novels: Alice s Adventures in Wonderland and the sequel Through the
Looking Glass. His work, principally the two mentioned, have inspire many people over the years.
Alice s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass are designed for a child s
entertainment, but both books are full of symbolism. To lectors with no experience with Carroll s
work, this term seems to describe Carroll s confusing and often rambling style perfectly, but when
more thoroughly inspected, it becomes obvious that this nonsense has a far more profound meaning.
Alice s Adventures in Wonderland is about a young girl, Alice, who gets bored doing her
multiplication tables one day and follows a white rabbit into a hole. Through this hole, she ends up
falling into

Aspects of Our Existence in The Canterbury Tales Essay
Aspects of Our Existence in The Canterbury Tales
Through out the history of our own existence men and women alike have pondered and questioned
whether there truly exists a force that controls all aspects of our existence. In order to answer these
questions men have gone on spiritual quest for not only knowledge of god, but to shed light on our
own lives. Men like Geoffrey Chaucer take us on a quest to dig deep within our souls to answer our
own question. In Chaucer s collection of tales entitled, The Canterbury Tales The tales deal with a
group of pilgrims of all social classes in search for forgiveness to the shrine of Thomas a Becket. The
pilgrims all seek knowledge they cannot have but still try and find that knowledge within each ...

The millers Tale, is a tale of humor that involves four characters who all search for love in the wrong
placer and learn form their mistakes. The tale begins at the house of the carpenter John who is an aged
man. Who marries a young girl named Alison who is only eighteen years old. Chaucer intentionally
does this to show that the age difference is a power to be reckoned with. Chaucer himself describes the
contrast of age when he says, She was a girl of eighteen years of age. Jealous he was and kept her in a
cage, for he was old and she was wild an young; he thought himself quiet likely to be stung. Chaucer
perfectly describes the youth and its effect upon the character. The other character Nicholas the
Galland, is described by Chaucer as, This lad was know as Nicholas the Galland, and making love in
secret was his talent, for he was very close and sly, and took advantage of his meek and girlish look.
Chaucer her foreshadows the relation ship between the two young characters by describing their flaws
such as youth and beauty in Alison and Slyness in Nicholas. The other character Absolon is also a
young ambitious character who wants to get Alison at any cost an is described by Chaucer as, Absalon

Heathers Depiction Of Life In High School
While reading the article I must admit that all movies discussed within impacted my views on life in
high school and apply still today. Starting with Heathers, what I gained and still appreciate about this
film are two different topics. A sense of what the high school is hell and so is life. Heathers portrayed
high school in the real true light that is high school. Kids/teens are mean and if you are not in with the
right crowd then you are out. Heathers showed what every single high school is like, full of clicks and
each click is made up of different racial, gender and social classes. This is something that no one can
deny, no matter where you hail from a small town to big city it s the same. You can walk into any high
school and see the clicks that reside within the school. Unless you grew up in a utopia and if that is the

reflections of their parents, do you think they learned to be mean on their own? NO. Think of it this
way, if dad is mean and talks down to mom and treats her like she is nothing that behavior is normal to
the child. In return child grows up (in this case a boy) and treats women like dad because, that s the
way . Flip that to the other side and the child is a girl, now she believes it is normal for women to be

The Path Of Humility. The path of humility is the way of walking in humility. Humility is defined as
the quality or condition of being humble. You should be a humble person. As a humble person, you are
marked by meekness or modesty in your behavior, your attitude, or your spirit. Being humble means
not being arrogant or prideful. God resists proud people, but He gives grace to humble people. But he
giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble,
(James 4:6). Also, good people (those that are morally good) reject proud persons but receive humble
persons. Humble persons they receive they give favor to. Humility makes you attractive a magnet for

The Assumption Proposal
Hamilton s economic policies, although created to help the country as a whole, are directed to benefit
the rich and mainly northern states, and not the poorer more southern states. Separating the rich from
the poor will only divide the country more, and create more economic problems for the poorer parts of
the new country. Hamilton s assumption plan and establishment of the Central Bank will only divide
the country into rich and poor parts and create economic and social tension. The Assumption Plan is
Hamilton s belief that all of the state s debt, from the revolution, should be taken on by the entire
nation. In order to fix the national debt, Hamilton wanted to pay back all states and national debts
back in full, to once again have a strong ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Southern Plantations would again have to fund Northern businesses, putting more of a financial strain
on the South than on the North. Putting a tax on whiskey hurts the farmers who grow the grain that is
the basis for whiskey. Many of the farmers can barely afford to process the grain, let alone pay an
additional tax on it. In addition the farmers are having to take a financial hit for the Northern States
who do not process the ingredients for whiskey. Again this tax is only beneficial to the richer northern
states separating the rich from the poor once again. As for creating a Central Bank, having a set
standard for currency will allow all the states to interact in commerce with ease and in moderate
supply, keep the economy from falling into recession. But if it there is a surplus, the value of money
can drop and cause inflation and recession. Although this would help the government financially,
Jefferson and many others opposed to Hamilton s ideas, because the bank was just another way to
make the rich richer, and the poor poorer. The constitutionality of it was questionable, because the
Constitution doesn t blatantly say the government has the power to create private corporations. The
establishment of the Central Bank was just another hit to the poor, and another way to increase the

Loyola s Use Of Reform In What Surprised Me
What Surprised Me: Loyola deserted his career as a solider because the literature impacted him
severely. This literature so affected him (Ignatius Loyola) that he abandoned his career as a solider.
(Noll 190) During a long convalescence Loyola was given devotional literature dealing with the life of
Christ, which overwhelmed him so greatly he left his career as a solider. The contrast in
transformations was not dealing with degree, but on being kind. The difference in transformations was
not in degree, but in kind. (Noll 191) The distinction in transformations was based on being kind. The
greatest example of reform as an internal movement was the great surge in making new religious
orders from the 1520s. The clearest instance of reform as an internal movement was the great surge in
creating new religious orders that dated from the 1520s. (Noll 194) The great surge in constructing

The Oregon Health Services Commission
The Oregon Health Services Commission addressed budget cuts in 1990 by proposing a list of
Medicaid services. The list was ranked by priority, based on a cost effectiveness analysis. Access to
particular services became limited, but coverage was increased from 67% to 100% of the poverty
line1. Much protest broke out in regards to how the treatments were prioritized on the list. Some of the
dissatisfaction was of preceding events, such as the death of 7 year old Coby Howard following
funding cuts for organ transplants . Coby was suffering from a form of leukemia and unable to procure
enough money for a bone marrow transplant, formerly covered by Medicaid until the changes took
affect1. His death became the face of the problem over the debate of prioritized services. This essay
will argue that cost effectiveness analysis (CEA) is not a just procedure for prioritizing health services.
It will argue that priority for the worse off would be the most just approach in prioritizing services for
Medicaid recipients through the case study of the Oregon Health Services Commission. I believe that
priority to the worse off is the better alternative to CEA because it considers the difference of need
between individuals in resource allocation. Regarding Oregon s Health Services Commission, the
objective of the CEA was to identify and compare the costs and benefits of different health
interventions . The justification for this procedure, in light of funding cuts on Medicaid, was that the

The Positive Effects Of Stress On College Students
Stress plays a big part on the daily life of every individual. Stress is a natural by product of adapting
and then regaining internal homeostasis. Every individual will react differently to stressful situations.
There are positive ways that one can deal with stress. These positive ways are called coping, which is
the multitude of strategies one can use in response to a stressor. There are three different coping
strategies, those of which include problem focused strategies, emotion focused strategies, and avoidant
coping strategies, which can help oneself cope with the stress of everyday life. Stress indicates that
change requires an effort to adapt and then an effort to gain stability (Kato, 2017). In the article
written by Flynn and Chow, they conduct research on a rather large group of college students to see if
college really is the most stressful part of life (Hales, 2009). According to Kaisers (1974) terminology
the study conducted indicates that the data set is marvelous for factor analysis.
Stress on College Students Stress plays a huge role on everybody in everyday life. Being a college
student, I did my research article based on students in college and how stressful it is.
Definition of Stress and Coping Stress, as defined by Kato, is the general term describing the
psychological and bodily response to a stimulus that alters one s state of equilibrium. Coping, also
defined by Kato, is the multitude of strategies one can use in response to a stressor. Emotion focused
strategies change a person s emotional response to the stressor (Kato 2017) Problem focused strategies
focus on taking the stressor head on (Kato, 2017). Avoidant coping involves simply avoiding the
stressor (Kato, 2017).
Research on Stress and Coping In an article written by Deborah M. Flynn, she goes into depth about
self efficacy, self worth and stress. This study is important because the time spent in the post
secondary educational system is one of the most stressful periods of life that has been reported (Hales,
2009). As stated in her article, there are clear differences in how some students cope with stress, some
students view stress as a challenge and thrive, whereas others have difficulty coping (Stoliker and

Differences Between Tertullian And Justin Martyr
Yves Gerard
17FA BIBL 111 Intro to Christian Hist/Thght (14)
Drawing on other parts of their writings, what are Tertullian and Justin Martyr saying about faith,
reason, and philosophy in these passages? Are their positions in conflict? What are the implications of
each perspective?
Many believe that the writings of early Church Fathers were lectured to different sects. In fact, one
may assume that there are Similarities and differences between Tertullian and Justin Martyr.
Particularly, let s compare Tertullian s and Justin Martyr perspective of faith, reason, and philosophy!
Justin Martyr is Known as the defender of the faith (Tony lane), (p.10) He looked for truth in Greek
philosophy. Likewise, his apology is in defense of the Christian faith and belief of Christianity. Of the
writings that subsist, his First Apology (c. 155 c.e.; English translation, 1861) contains a resilient
appeal for justice lectured to Antoninus. In that work, he clarifies Christian morals to influence his
reader of Christian faithfulness and honesty. However, also central to this writing is his claim that
Hebrew prophecy and Greek philosophy, both informed by the divine Logos (the Word), pointed to the
coming of Christ. Through such dispute, he facilitated to institute the early Christian theme which
faith is greater than Greek philosophy and is the result of Judaic belief. In Justin s awareness, merely
those who were controlled by fears failed to recognize these facts. His Second Apology (c.

Casino Royale Symbolism
How James Bond is symbolism in the story Casino Royale by Ian Fleming such as how James Bond s
car is a symbol of him. Along with how his drink and his gadgets symbolized James Bond.
In this book James Bond s car was the Bentley 4.5 liter and it was supercharged and it is called the
blower Bentley. The reason it is called the blower Bentley is because of the supercharger.
Superchargers spin really fast with the RPMs of the motor while its spinning it s blowing air into the
engine that s why it is called the blower Bentley. The Bentley 4.5 liter was made from 1927 to 1931.
James Bond bought his in 1933. They only produced 720 4.5 liter Bentleys. Only fifty five of them
included the supercharger made by Amherst Villiers. The Bentley 4.5 liter was a perfect car for James
Bond at the time. It matched him. It was fast with the supercharger. The car helps him chase down a
Citroen that Le Chiffre drove. In Casino Royale the third burglar was named Le Chiffre and he
jumped in a Citroen and tried to escape James Bond. in the book Casino Royale the do not give us
much information about the Citroen he drove but with the information we are given we can narrow it
down to it being a 1950 Citroen Traction Avant. They were made from 1934 to ... Show more content

Baby Cam Analysis
Did you know there are more uses for baby cams than just checking on your baby? Like making
adorable video clips of a parent s devoted care of a cranky baby. For several months, Michela could

one night during that period in her young life. (Video) In this baby cam video from 2009, Michela s
devoted Canadian father Nunzio Raso goes to check on his crying daughter. He first tries to pat her to
clam her down. When that fails, he comes up with a brilliant new plan and climbs into the crib with
her. It works! She quickly settles down and seems to fall asleep. There s only one problem: He s

Surrealism In The Surrealist Manifesto
Surrealism stemmed from the idea of representing the unconscious mind, unburdening of the
individual from societal norm, and emancipating human desire. Surrealists, sought for freedom of
mind and sexual emancipation however their depiction women as idealized females, passive muses,
fuellers of fantasies and mere sexual creatures stripped women of their identities. Andre Breton
kindled the movement with his surrealist manifesto, guiding surrealists after him; Breton s view of
Freudian subconscious and his call for the elimination of reason societal norms resulted in sexual
awakening, depiction of male fantasies and overtly sexualized female figures. Rene Magritte, depicted

The representation of women and the female body in surrealist art is best exemplified in Dali s In
Voluptas Mors and in Rene Magritte s Le Viol . Dali distorted female bodies, producing a nightmarish
effect in his most notorious photograph titled In Voluptas Mors, which translates to Voluptuous Death.
The black and white photo is of nude women arranged to resemble a skull. Female figure is sexualized
and objectified and also is depicted to be death itself. The photograph depicts distorted torsos creating
a skull, women are merely naked torso s, voluptuous and sexual. Without individuality and identity the
bodies in Dali s work, are an example the female image surrealism. Magritte s most shocking and
contradictory work, Le Viol , can be translated as the rape . In the painting, nipples replaces eyes, a
belly button where her nose should be, and a vulva for a mouth, the female face is erased by the
female torso imposed upon it. The painter might be suggesting that female anatomy is bound to be her
destiny, that this is how the society views her. One might see this as Magritte criticizing the values of
his times as the painting is open to interpretation. However, there is no doubt that he indented to shock
his viewers. The artist s intentions aside,

Who Is The Perfect Life In The Great Gatsby
Nobody has a perfect life. Yet many people think that with great wealth they will have a perfect life.
Everyone has heard the phrase, money can t buy happiness , but still think they will lead a happy life
with the help of obtaining a lot of money. Many of the characters in The Great Gatsby, written by F.
Scott Fitzgerald seem to believe this same statement. Although these characters appear to have

The Poverty Of The United States
Poverty can be defined as a condition that people suffer from due to lack of economic resources. For
being such a prosperous country, the United States possesses a persistent problem. The problem is the
poverty rate in America and how it has become a force that continuously grows. One fact that
American citizens are not aware of or do not wish to implement in their minds is that nearly 50 million
people in the United States live in poverty. Amongst the 50 million people in the United States that
live below the poverty line, over 5 million more were women than man. This phenomenon as to in
which women experience poverty at far higher rates than men is described as feminization of poverty,

One of his main arguments was that federal welfare became so generous that it led to women
preferring unwed motherhood and indolence over getting married and obtaining jobs (315: Edin and

Shusaku Endo s Silence 2nd Ending
A sticky drop of sweat rolled down from my greasy, unwashed hair all the way down into my old and
ripped peasant clothes to my chest. The guards gripped and squeezed my hand, making sure and
double checking once in every few seconds that I had no way of escaping, though I wasn t going to

katana, along with a whip tied around their waist. As I walked down the streets many husbands and
wives came out to see the wonderful sight. They threw spears, pointy rocks and leftover food at me,
and called my horrific names like stupid priest and ignorant padre as I walked down the main streets

more, it seems to me that it represents a human desire for wrongdoers to be punished. I hate the idea
of Idi Amin living in Saudi Arabia for the last 25 years of his life. That galls me to no end. I feel some

Essay On Colon Cancer
Colon Cancer
There are over 100 types of cancer. One type is called colon cancer, a very common disease in the
lower part of the digestive system. Colon cancer is luckily very treatable if caught early, but because it
is so common it is the second leading cause of death from cancer. About 140,000 people in the U.S.
are diagnosed with colon cancer every year.
Colon cancer, also known as colorectal cancer is mostly found in adults age 50 and older. The most
common symptoms are abdominal pain, weakness, fatigue, and weight loss. In the early stages of
colon cancer not many symptoms are evident, when the symptoms do appear they vary depending on
the location of where the growth is, and the size. Usually this type of cancer arrives in polyps, which
are small non cancerous growths that can become cancer over time.
Depending on how far along the polyps have grown there are three treatment options; radiation,
surgery, and chemotherapy. The most common of these is surgery. There are several ways to prevent
colon cancer. One is having a healthy diet of low fat foods, vegetables, and fruits. Another way to
prevent colon cancer is to have a yearly colonoscopy, a test that can tell you what is going on in your
lower digestive system, around age 40.

India s The Partition Of India
The partition of India is one of the defining chapters in India s entire history. Although many different
reasons caused the partition, political factors were a key player in bringing about this monumental
change in India s borders. The pre existing communal differences between Hindus and Muslims grew
as a result of the fears of both groups losing power and giving up control to the other. The partition
which was supposed to grant freedom and independence for all Indians resulted in creating a deeper
hatred and animosity which would cost countless lives through riots, rape, and mass murder for
decades to come. Gandhi said in actual life, it is impossible to separate us into two nations. We are not
two nations. Every Moslem will have a Hindu name if he goes back far enough in his family history.
Every Moslem is merely a Hindu who has accepted Islam. That does not create nationality. . . . We in
India have a common culture. In the North, Hindi and Urdu are understood by both Hindus and
Moslems. In Madras, Hindus and Moslems speak Tamil, and in Bengal, they both speak Bengali and
neither Hindi nor Urdu. When communal riots take place, they are always provoked by incidents over
cows and by religious processions. That means that it is our superstitions that create the trouble and
not our separate nationalities. He tried to unite all Indians by showing them that having different
religions does not separate Indians and the only path to true independence would be to come

Lowering The Freezing Point Of Water

Background Research
The topic is Chemistry of Making Ice Cream: Lowering the Freezing Point of Water. In this
experiment the scientist will be researching how to lower the freezing point of water using salt and/or
sugar. The Independent Variable in this experiment is the solutes that the scientist uses which are,
chemicals that dissolve in liquids. The Dependent Variable is the temperature/freezing points of the
substances(°C). A constant is this experiment would be the use of salt and sugar and the control would
be the pure water because it is important for determining the freezing point of the water in the

The salt content lowers the oceans freezing point so that conditions have to be a lot colder to make it
freezes. (David Bradley, 2009). To understand all of this, you first need to understand the freezing
point of water. Water freezes at 0(°C) or 32(°F). However, adding salt or sugar or a substance as those
listed, could change the freezing point of water.
The freezing point of ocean water is 28.4 (°F) this is due to the amount of salt found in the ocean, at
least 10 percent of the oceans water freezes and becomes ice, but the only part that freezes is the
actual water itself while everything underneath is salt water. The polar ice caps are made out of fresh
water, up to 15 percent of the oceans water is always frozen. In the ocean there is around 35 grams of
salt for every 1000 units of water.
When adding sugar to pure water it also lowers the freezing point of water because it becomes a
mixture. If sugar is sprinkled on ice it mixes with the warmest layer of water creating a sugar water
mix that pushes all the remaining sugar water underneath the ice layer making it freeze. The
movement of pure water molecules slow down through the sugar water

I Believe In Making Bed Research
I Believe in Making My Bed Every Morning I believe in making my bed every single morning. There
is nothing like pulling my heavy, warm comforter neatly over my wrinkled sheets. Making my bed
starts my day, leaving a renewed and wholesome feeling when I haphazardly sprint out the door in the
morning to catch my bus. I can t seem to get anything done unless I make my bed. This odd ritual
came about when I was spending the summer at my grandparents. Our house had just flooded, and we
were left in distress until we received a text from my grandma offering us a place in their home.
Needless to say, we abused that offer.. We remained in her home for three months and everyday she

In making my bed, it meant that no matter what accomplishment, big or small, was worth being proud
of. What better way to proudly display an accomplishment than a bed. Afterall a bed is the center of
attention in a room. It is the epitome of perfection in a room, the cherry on top if you will. After all it
is called the BEDroom, the only room in the house that requires a bed. The first thing someone notices
when they walk into a bedroom room is the bed, its size, color, placement. The way someone makes
their bed says a lot about their personality. Tucked corners, or folded comforter, to fluffed pillows and
satin sheets. The way someone makes their bed gives them control of something in their life. Had a
bad day at work? No worries, you made your bed. Fail a test? Well atleast you accomplished one
thing. Making your bed means your day, no matter how bad, weird, or depressing, was not a complete
failure. I remember one day I was having an awful day. I was late, failed a test, got in trouble, and was

The Positive Impact Of The Juvenile Justice System
The Juvenile Justice system (JJS) is not beneficial to the civilians in the community.Young adults that
have committed indescribable crimes are being released back into the community for a second

in anyway.Kevin C Framingham has a very strong opinion in which he is agreeing with the way the
JJS is ran. Mr. Framingham wrote an article For Teen Ink about how rehabilitating young criminals is
an amazing idea. The article is called Punishment or Rehabilitation? . He answered the question many
people ask What is the true aim of our prison system? The answer he gave was Their most important
function must be to rehabilitate criminals into society so prisons can have a positive effect on inmates
.This should not be the goal in our JJS. As of now, the JJS is rehabilitating murders, molesters, sexual
assaulters, ect. These dangerous criminals are released back into the world. This is putting men,
women, and children in danger everyday ,yet the JJS still does it. In the month of May,2015 two

  • 2. Theme Of Imperialism In Jane Eyre Scottish author, Christopher North (also known as John Wilson) once said, His Majesty s dominions, on which the sun never sets in reference to the large span of territory occupied by the British Empire. At the height of its power, Great Britain held territory on all of the seven continents and ruled over about one fourth of the world s population. A map of the British Empire in the 19th century published by the History of England shows that Great Britain occupied areas such as Canada, Australia, Egypt, South Africa, modern day India, Honduras, and many other lands. The primary purpose of British imperialism was to acquire as much foreign territory as possible in order to gain abundant amounts of raw materials and to create a market for British ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The powerful male roles, such as Edward Rochester, seen throughout the novel represent Great Britain, while the weaker female roles, such as Bertha Mason, represent the imperialized countries. In chapter 14 of Jane Eyre, Mr. Rochester demonstrates his assertive dominance to Jane when he asks, Do you agree with me that I have a right to be a little masterful, abrupt, perhaps exacting, sometimes, on the grounds I stated, namely, that I am old enough to be your father, and that I have battled through a varied experience with many men of many nations, and roamed over half the globe (Brontë 152). Rochester demonstrates the power of Great Britain here by claiming that he has the given right to take control and be the ruling figure just like Great Britain did to weaker countries. Bertha Mason parallels the countries being colonized because she is depicted as weak and someone who needs to be isolated and controlled. In Reader, I Buried Him : Apocalypse and Empire in Jane Eyre. , Tracy agrees that many critics rightly place Bertha at the centre of the novel s signifying systems, since social, cultural, imperial, and religious concerns are encoded in her relationship with Rochester . This becomes evident in chapter 26 of Jane Eyre when Rochester is explaining Bertha s character to Jane. Rochester states that Bertha Mason is mad; she came of a mad family; idiots and maniacs through three ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Minors Committing Violent Crimes Minors who committed violent crimes end up usually categorized with adult penalties, instead of being classified as minors penalties. The teenagers classified with adult penalties end up in prison instead of juvenile hall tend to receive a horrible fate if not worse. I oppose the thought of juveniles who have committed violent crimes should try as adults, a point that needs emphasizing since many people agree that minors who committed violent crimes belong in a juvenile penitentiary. Which, is how it should be since the juveniles are not of legal age to try as adults. What pushes the matter is seeing how severe the crime committed was people believe that the minors are aware of what they are doing at the time of their action. Minors need aid ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It seems that violent video games can not only turn an at risk child up to a dial on their behaviors but also low risk children into a school shooter (Mozes 5). Video games have also been put on the radar as to one of the root problems of minors committing violent acts. If a child began playing violent video games at a young age, then he might think that violence in real life is the same as the game violence and that it doesn t have a real impact on others (Gilad 29). While kids play violent video games, they re not only playing for fun. They are analyzing the which changes their behavior and actions due to thought process for example, They start to expect people to behave more aggressively toward them, and they tend to see aggressive solutions as being more appropriate for solving problems (Mozes 5). An understated factor leading to minor violence would have to be bullying. Gifted youngsters who are bullied for being who they are, eventually would either retaliate or change themselves to fit into society so that they won t get bullied. The gifted students suffer from extreme anxiety, dangerous depression, and sometimes, violence... ( Gifted Kids 6). The quote shows that bullying can factor into many different issues, with violence being one of them. Watching videos of school fights caused by bullying taught me there ... • 5. More Space Shuttle Experiments Take Flight Summary The article More Space Shuttle Experiments Take Flight, talks about a unique mentorship program for the ages of elementary children. The mentorship program prepares experiments that have been conducted in flight on space shuttle missions, students have the chance to study simulations that have happened in space in a classroom setting. For example, students study the effect of spaceflight on seeds and brine shrimp germinated/ hatched in the classroom. The article includes the students and the teachers, it is a nationwide mentorship program that is engaging students to move on to the next set of space shuttle experiment studies. Several schools are participating in these different series of space shuttle experiments and the experiments vary depending on the age level and interest. What I love about these space shuttle experiments is the fact that the students and teachers are involved together. There is communication throughout all the schools involved and unanswered questions are always given an answer. When students in the classroom are given an experiment like this, it is going to create a learning environment that is enjoyable for learners. The author of the article, Robert ... Titration Investigation Essay examples Titration Investigation Aim: The aim of my investigation is to determine the solubility of calcium Hydroxide solution with the aid of the titration process. Titration can be defined as the method of determining the concentration of a substance in solution by adding to it a standard reagent of known concentration in carefully measured amounts until a reaction of definite and known proportion is completed, as shown by a color change or by electrical measurement, and then calculating the unknown concentration. An example could be, a given volume of a solution of unknown acidity may be titrated with a base of known concentration until complete neutralization has occurred. This point is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From the pH at the equivalence point, the dissociation constant of the acidic or basic group can be determined (see chemical equilibrium). If a compound contains several different acidic or basic groups, the titration curve will show several sigmoid shaped curves like steps and the dissociation constant of each group can be obtained from the pH at its corresponding equivalence point. I have now explained the basis of the Titration methodology; I will now have to choose the appropriate compounds in order to make sure that the experiment is carried out in the appropriate manner. I will now display a table containing the different compunds for my availability: Strong acid Weak acid Strong alkali Weak alkali Hydrochloric acid Ethanoic acid Sodium Hydroxide Ammonia solution

What Is Literary Nonsense In Alice In Wonderland Nonsense Nonsense Literature or Literary Nonsense balances elements that make sense with some that do not with the effect of subverting language conventions or logical reasoning even though the most well known form of literary nonsense is nonsense verse. The effect of nonsense is often caused by an excess of meaning rather than a lack of it it s humor is derived from it s nonsensical nature rather than wit or the joke of a punchline. Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, who is better known as Lewis Carroll, has authored diverse amount of poems, novels, and short stories in his career. The Hunting of the Snark display his wonderful ability in the genre of literary nonsense. However, Carroll is most distinguished for his infant s nonsense novels: Alice s Adventures in Wonderland and the sequel Through the Looking Glass. The list was ranked by priority, based on a cost effectiveness analysis. Access to particular services became limited, but coverage was increased from 67% to 100% of the poverty line1. Much protest broke out in regards to how the treatments were prioritized on the list. Some of the dissatisfaction was of preceding events, such as the death of 7 year old Coby Howard following funding cuts for organ transplants . Coby was suffering from a form of leukemia and unable to procure enough money for a bone marrow transplant, formerly covered by Medicaid until the changes took affect1. His death became the face of the problem over the debate of prioritized services. This essay will argue that cost effectiveness analysis (CEA) is not a just procedure for prioritizing health services. It will argue that priority for the worse off would be the most just approach in prioritizing services for Medicaid recipients through the case study of the Oregon Health Services Commission. I believe that priority to the worse off is the better alternative to CEA because it considers the difference of need between individuals in resource allocation. Regarding Oregon s Health Services Commission, the objective of the CEA was to identify and compare the costs and benefits of different health interventions . • 20. The Positive Effects Of Stress On College Students Stress plays a big part on the daily life of every individual. Stress is a natural by product of adapting and then regaining internal homeostasis. Every individual will react differently to stressful situations. There are positive ways that one can deal with stress. These positive ways are called coping, which is the multitude of strategies one can use in response to a stressor. There are three different coping strategies, those of which include problem focused strategies, emotion focused strategies, and avoidant coping strategies, which can help oneself cope with the stress of everyday life. Stress indicates that change requires an effort to adapt and then an effort to gain stability (Kato, 2017). In the article written by Flynn and Chow, they conduct research on a rather large group of college students to see if college really is the most stressful part of life (Hales, 2009). According to Kaisers (1974) terminology the study conducted indicates that the data set is marvelous for factor analysis. Stress on College Students Stress plays a huge role on everybody in everyday life. Being a college student, I did my research article based on students in college and how stressful it is. Definition of Stress and Coping Stress, as defined by Kato, is the general term describing the psychological and bodily response to a stimulus that alters one s state of equilibrium. Coping, also defined by Kato, is the multitude of strategies one can use in response to a stressor. Emotion focused strategies change a person s emotional response to the stressor (Kato 2017) Problem focused strategies focus on taking the stressor head on (Kato, 2017). Avoidant coping involves simply avoiding the stressor (Kato, 2017). Research on Stress and Coping In an article written by Deborah M. Flynn, she goes into depth about self efficacy, self worth and stress. This study is important because the time spent in the post secondary educational system is one of the most stressful periods of life that has been reported (Hales, 2009). Of the writings that subsist, his First Apology (c. 155 c.e.; English translation, 1861) contains a resilient appeal for justice lectured to Antoninus. In that work, he clarifies Christian morals to influence his reader of Christian faithfulness and honesty. However, also central to this writing is his claim that Hebrew prophecy and Greek philosophy, both informed by the divine Logos (the Word), pointed to the coming of Christ. • 34. Essay On Colon Cancer Colon Cancer There are over 100 types of cancer. One type is called colon cancer, a very common disease in the lower part of the digestive system. Colon cancer is luckily very treatable if caught early, but because it is so common it is the second leading cause of death from cancer. About 140,000 people in the U.S. are diagnosed with colon cancer every year. Colon cancer, also known as colorectal cancer is mostly found in adults age 50 and older. The most common symptoms are abdominal pain, weakness, fatigue, and weight loss. In the early stages of colon cancer not many symptoms are evident, when the symptoms do appear they vary depending on the location of where the growth is, and the size. Usually this type of cancer arrives in polyps, which are small non cancerous growths that can become cancer over time. Depending on how far along the polyps have grown there are three treatment options; radiation, surgery, and chemotherapy. The most common of these is surgery. There are several ways to prevent colon cancer. One is having a healthy diet of low fat foods, vegetables, and fruits. • 35. India s The Partition Of India The partition of India is one of the defining chapters in India s entire history. Although many different reasons caused the partition, political factors were a key player in bringing about this monumental change in India s borders. The pre existing communal differences between Hindus and Muslims grew as a result of the fears of both groups losing power and giving up control to the other. The partition which was supposed to grant freedom and independence for all Indians resulted in creating a deeper hatred and animosity which would cost countless lives through riots, rape, and mass murder for decades to come. Gandhi said in actual life, it is impossible to separate us into two nations. We are not two nations. Every Moslem will have a Hindu name if he goes back far enough in his family history. Every Moslem is merely a Hindu who has accepted Islam. That does not create nationality. . . . We in India have a common culture. In the North, Hindi and Urdu are understood by both Hindus and Moslems. In Madras, Hindus and Moslems speak Tamil, and in Bengal, they both speak Bengali and neither Hindi nor Urdu. When communal riots take place, they are always provoked by incidents over cows and by religious processions. That means that it is our superstitions that create the trouble and not our separate nationalities. He tried to unite all Indians by showing them that having different religions does not separate Indians and the only path to true independence would be to come ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Lowering The Freezing Point Of Water Isaiah McConaga Janay Winston Mrs. Chan Honors Chemistry Background Research The topic is Chemistry of Making Ice Cream: Lowering the Freezing Point of Water. In this experiment the scientist will be researching how to lower the freezing point of water using salt and/or sugar. The Independent Variable in this experiment is the solutes that the scientist uses which are, chemicals that dissolve in liquids. The Dependent Variable is the temperature/freezing points of the substances(°C). A constant is this experiment would be the use of salt and sugar and the control would be the pure water because it is important for determining the freezing point of the water in the experiment. In order to determine which chemicals will lower the freezing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The salt content lowers the oceans freezing point so that conditions have to be a lot colder to make it freezes. (David Bradley, 2009). To understand all of this, you first need to understand the freezing point of water. Water freezes at 0(°C) or 32(°F). However, adding salt or sugar or a substance as those listed, could change the freezing point of water. The freezing point of ocean water is 28.4 (°F) this is due to the amount of salt found in the ocean, at least 10 percent of the oceans water freezes and becomes ice, but the only part that freezes is the actual water itself while everything underneath is salt water. The polar ice caps are made out of fresh water, up to 15 percent of the oceans water is always frozen. In the ocean there is around 35 grams of salt for every 1000 units of water. When adding sugar to pure water it also lowers the freezing point of water because it becomes a mixture. If sugar is sprinkled on ice it mixes with the warmest layer of water creating a sugar water mix that pushes all the remaining sugar water underneath the ice layer making it freeze. The movement of pure water molecules slow down through the sugar water ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There is nothing like pulling my heavy, warm comforter neatly over my wrinkled sheets. Making my bed starts my day, leaving a renewed and wholesome feeling when I haphazardly sprint out the door in the morning to catch my bus. I can t seem to get anything done unless I make my bed. This odd ritual came about when I was spending the summer at my grandparents. Our house had just flooded, and we were left in distress until we received a text from my grandma offering us a place in their home. Needless to say, we abused that offer.. Mr. Framingham wrote an article For Teen Ink about how rehabilitating young criminals is an amazing idea. The article is called Punishment or Rehabilitation? . He answered the question many people ask What is the true aim of our prison system? The answer he gave was Their most important function must be to rehabilitate criminals into society so prisons can have a positive effect on inmates .This should not be the goal in our JJS. As of now, the JJS is rehabilitating murders, molesters, sexual assaulters, ect.
