Jesus Villahermosa Thesis
After reading the essay written by Jesus Villahermosa I believe his thesis statement is Given my
extensive experience dealing with violence in the workplace and at schools and colleges, I do not
think professors and administrators, let alone students, should carry guns . In his second paragraph, he
lays out reason as to why he feels this way and shows that he can be considered an expert in firearm
safety. Giving information into his background reinforces his position and add to his argument against
arming people on college campuses. Some may be surprised that he is against having armed
professors and students on campus because of his background. However, I am not surprised that he is
strongly against having firearm toting professors, administrators and students throughout campuses.
He is properly trained, experienced with firearm safety and marksmanship which in turn gives him
great support to his argument. Villahermosa gave ample reasons to support his argument against
carrying weapons on college campuses throughout his essay. The most persuasive reason he gives
against guns on campus is Will faculty and staff members be prepared to kill ... Show more content on

He gave clear and abundant reasons to back up his argument and laid out many consequences for
having a policy that would allow guns on campus. With colleges already struggling financially a
policy allowing guns would bring even more need for funding to cash strapped institutions. The
training required would be extensive and costly to have competent people carrying and ready to use
their gun if needed. The risks involved in allowing guns on campus seem to be extremely high and
wildly unpredictable. It would make it harder for police to distinguish between the good guy and the
bad guy in a crisis. Schools and employees would be subjected to lawsuits and even imprisonment if
innocent bystanders are shot instead of intended

Persuasive Essay On Confederate Monuments
The Civil War was a clouded era where judgement was ill evolved, however, it was a cultural turning
point in the history of our nation. Our nation hasn t always been the cultural mixing pot it is now, to
get to this point there were many things that had to be taken into consideration, and we need to keep
that in mind throughout history so we can be knowledgeable of how we got to where we are today. In
the past months, there has been a big spark in the debate of confederate monuments and if they should
be removed or be able to stay. I argue that confederate monuments should be preserved to be honest
about our nation s past.
What is a monument, and why are people still talking about a topic that took place over a century ago?
Well according to the Cambridge Academic Content Dictionary, monument means,
a statue, building, or other structure erected to commemorate a famous or notable person or event.
(Cambridge Academic Content Dictionary...) So, when we think about monuments sometimes we only
think of statues, but they are also buildings and they don t always honor just a person but sometimes
an event as a whole. Although some of the monuments may have been put up in vein, they all have a
story to tell about our history. Most confederate monuments were erected 50 years after the end of the
civil war, as veterans began to pass away. As the veterans of the war began to die, there was a renewed
push for reconciliation between North and South. (Davidson 2017) Also during the

Transcendentalism In Henry David Thoreau
The Transcendentalism in Henry David Thoreau Henry David Thoreau once said, It s not what you
look at that matters, it s what you see. Transcendentalists were often less concerned with what they
saw in front of them, and more concerned on what it meant. Transcendentalism is certainly about
forgetting the literal meaning of things and taking into account the divinity of them. Thoreau s
impression of this genre shows up regularly in his works. Henry David Thoreau s independence and
time with Emerson strengthened his as a transcendentalist as shown in Walden and A Winter s Walk.
Henry David Thoreau was a major figure in the transcendentalist movement. He was born in Concord,
Massachusetts on July 12, 1817 ( Henry David Thoreau biography.co). Richard J. Schneider s article,
Thoreau s Life reveals that he went to public school in Concord, then attended Concord Academy.
Thoreau was somewhat different than other children in Concord. As a child he rarely followed the
rules and was independent and strong willed (Brozo, et al. 377). Being independent as a child shows
up very clearly in Thoreau s adult life. Later Schneider states that Thoreau went to Harvard College
and graduated in the top of his class. However, he had to graduate early because he was very ill and
not financially able to continue. Thoreau worked at many places throughout the years. He taught at a
school, worked at his family s pencil factory, and opened a school with his brother (Schneider). He
even worked as a land surveyor (Witherell and Dubrulle). Thoreau was friends with a great
transcendentalist writer, Ralph Waldo Emerson. Thoreau spent two years living at a place called
Walden Pond, which was property of Emerson ( Henry David Thoreau biography.com). As stated in
the biography, Henry David Thoreau, He experimented with working as little as possible rather than
engage in the pattern of six days on with one day off. This may seem like a lazy way of living, but to
Thoreau it was something more. He felt that this new approach helped him avoid the misery he saw
around him ( Henry David ). The hardship that Thoreau was feeling from the world was the public.
The public admired technology and did not appreciate nature like he did. Henry

Discipleship Of Mark And The Gospel Of Thomas
Discipleship in the Gospel of Mark and the Gospel of Thomas
The roles of disciples play a very important part in developing the message of the gospels due to their
close relation to Jesus throughout the stories. To start to understand the importance of the disciples
first you have to understand the main purpose of the Gospels. The Gospels are written in order to
describe Jesus s life on earth before Heaven. They give people insight to who Jesus was and create a
stronger basis of belief in Jesus and God. In order to bring the Gospels to life they use the students of
Jesus or Disciples to project his teachings and stories. The disciples take on many different roles in the
varying gospels. They are students, friends, witnesses, observers, and worshipers of Jesus. Disciples
come in many different forms of people as well. During the stories of the Gospels, Jesus is essentially
walking along picking up new followers and experiencing new things with them. Throughout the
experiences, Jesus teaches the disciples and they grow and learn and as a result the reader grows and
learns as well. That is why the disciples play such a pivotal role in the comprehension of Jesus and
him as a person. It becomes evident when analyzing the different Gospels that Jesus relationship with
the Disciples is slightly changed in the varying texts. A noticeable difference in the development of the
disciple s relationship to Jesus is present specifically in the Gospel of Mark and the Gospel of
Thomas.

Ip Subnet Design
IP Subnet Design Project
Executive Summary The acronym subnet refers to sub networking. This is the process of logically
dividing an IP network into various divisions or sections within a network. Therefore, sub netting is
the technique and practice of dividing a network into two or more logical networks (Narten,
Nordmark, Simpson Soliman 2007). Within a subnet, all computers connected to it are identifiable by
their almost identical IP addresses. The use of IP addresses is in order to identify uniquely computers
in a subnet by the use of a router or network IP prefix followed by a host or rest field identifier. This
IP address composition makes it easy to trace the network within which the sub network is ... Show

Hence, there is a reduction of recipients at each sub network the sub networks through using sub
networks. This, therefore, speeds up the performance of the network (Mogul Postel, 1985). CBCS
Technical IP Sub netting
Problem
CBCS has Wide Area Networks in place in its new locations, in the Houston region. It also has two
other regions: San Francisco and Denver. CBCS has an issue with the IP addressing infrastructure in
place. The current infrastructure makes use of static IP addresses, which in truth, causes a lot of
overheads in terms of network management and traffic. There is the lack of a VLAN structure in place
to manage and isolate any broadcast traffic that the CBCS network utilizes. On the same note, the
Wide Area Network traffic that CBCS makes use of has also been noted to be struggling to handle the
traffic of the CBCS network. Under CBCS, there are four main departments: Human Resources,
Finance, Sales, and Research and Development.
IP Sub netting Solution IP sub netting will be the best solution to take into account for CBCS.
Through sub netting, it is possible to divide logically the CBCS network into four main sub networks
that can be sub netted, again, to form sub sub networks within them, accordingly (Pummill Manning,
1995). The procedure of sub netting entails the separation and differentiation of the main CBCS
network and the CBCS subnet portion of an IP address from the host IP identifier. A bit wise AND

Canadian Thanksgiving Research Paper
Canadian Thanksgiving English explorer Martin Frobisher hosted the first Canadian Thanksgiving. It
was held in what is now Newfoundland during his expedition s attempts to find the Northwest Passage
to the Orient in 1578 and marked their safe arrival to the New World. The festival continued with the
purpose of celebrating a bountiful harvest. With time, French, Scottish, and German immigrants to
Canada added some of their traditions to the harvest festival. American traditions like turkey were
added by the United Empire Loyalists around the time of the American Revolution. The festival did
not have a fixed date until the late 19th century, at which time it was usually held on November 6th. In
1957 the Canadian Parliament proclaimed Thanksgiving ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Wampanoag Native Americans helped the pilgrims cultivate the land and fish, saving them from
starvation. At harvest time the pilgrims were thankful that they had a good crop of food to eat during
the coming winter. They thanked God and the Wampanoags for teaching them how to grow crops. In
the United States Thanksgiving was observed on various dates but by the mid 20th century most states
celebrated on the last Thursday in November. On December 26, 1941 President Franklin D. Roosevelt
signed a bill into law making Thanksgiving a national holiday and settling it to the 4th Tuesday in
November. The day after Thanksgiving is also a holiday giving many Americans a 4 day weekend.
Traditional Thanksgiving food includes turkey, sweet potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin
pie. Pumpkin pie is sweet and many people make sweet potato casseroles with marshmallows on top.
Depending on where you are in the country most stuffing is made with cornbread or oysters. Many
American s spend Thanksgiving morning watching the Macy s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The

The Role of Human Resources Department
The role of the human resources department is to maximize its expertise and knowledge to promote a
diverse work environment that values service excellence, personal well being and professional
development. Some of the functions of human resources are to stay compliant with labor laws, to
recruit, hire and train the best qualified people to do the job. Human resource planning is an important
factor of the human resources department. It is the process of forecasting the supply and demand for
human resources within an organization and developing action plans for aligning the two
(Denisi/Griffin, 2008, pg. 98).Organizations analyzes whether they could function with the same staff
or by increasing staff if needed and the planning can make the difference between success or failure.
Job analysis is another important factor of human resources. This is the process of gathering and
organizing detail information about jobs within an organization so managers can understand the
process to performed most effectively. The job analysis relates to the selection process, performance
appraisal, training, development, and compensation. The training and development is where the
employee learning the job related skills. The organization facilitate the training to employees to focus
on that specific job, whereas, the development teaches the managers and professionals the skills
needed for both current and future jobs. If an employee is not meeting his job in satisfaction, managers

Reaction Paper About Ninoy Aquino
On august 21, 1983, Benigno Ninoy S. Aquino, Jr. was fatally assassinated on Manila International
Airport. He was coming home with a mission, a mission to free his fellow countrymen from the
oppressive rule of then president, Ferdinand Marcos. Aquino knew that going back after being exiled
was a risky move. It takes a real man of passion and courage to put his country before his own life and
his name is now immortalized in our history books. He was the start of a reform, the EDSA People
Power, and this assured that his death was not in vain. It is men like him and women like his wife,

that it was really Marcos who was the mastermind. Yet, I had a bit of suspicion on the military officers
whom Marcos sent as military escorts. As Aquino stepped off the plane, they were saying, Ako na!
Ako na! Ako na! and Pusila, which means order to shoot in Southern Filipino dialect. They were also
covering the media from taking the scenario. These are very obvious moves. Seeing that alone makes
me think that they were involved in the assassination. But, when they were interrogated, they denied
everything. However, the main question is who planned these all? Number of allegations rose up after
which. It is very confusing which theory is the real one, for the people who really know the truth didn

given no proper justice till the matter is forgotten. What will happen then? Total blindness of the truth.
This is why justice is denied and given no importance up to this very

the vindication for the direct association of the United States in WWII. The historical context behind
this was that after WWI U.S had taken an isolation stance to avoid U.S involvement in any wars. He
believed that it was reasonable to provide England with the supplies they needed for the war because
sooner or later U.S will be forced to get involved in the war. Roosevelt main point for the speech was
to present the four freedoms; which include the freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom from

Analysis Of Raymond Carver s Popular Mechanics
Communication is key, is a statement that people hear more than once in their lifetime. Whether they
choose to understand it or not, it s something that they will always hear. But if communication is
really key why do people choose to hide away the key and keep their door locked? Every relationship
has it up and downs. There is no couple who can say that their relationship is perfect, everyone runs
into a few bumps in the road. It seems like they only want sunshine and rainbows in a relationship and
don t want to endure the storms that may come along. People just have to hang in there and learn how
work through their issues. In Raymond Carver s Popular Mechanics , the social issue of
communication in relationships is brought up. Communication is important in relationships because it
is the key to success. Poor communication can bring up many issues in a relationship like unnecessary
arguments, unhappiness and in worse case scenarios separation. It s shocking to see people who
actually believe that they can solve their problems by avoiding them. If he or she doesn t speak up and
tell their significant other that something is bothering them or that they are hurt or upset then how are
they supposed it fix it? People are quick to say that their partner should know when something is
wrong, but they have to remember that nobody is a mind reader. The art of a relationship requires
communication. That means that people have to learn to express what is going on in their hearts

The Importance Of Personal Privacy
Warrantless searches of a student s person raise significant legal questions. Unlike locker searches, it
cannot be asserted that there is a lower expectation of privacy. Students have a legitimate expectation
of privacy in the contents of their pockets and their person. The Fifth Circuit noted: The Fourth
Amendment applies with its fullest vigor against any intrusion on the human body. In personal
searches, not only is it necessary to have reasonable cause to search, but also the search itself must be
reasonable. Reasonableness is assessed in terms of the specific facts and circumstances of a case.
Metal Detectors. Metal detectors are used in airports and many public buildings, but their use does
constitute a search for Fourth Amendment purposes. General scanning of students with metal detectors
is only minimally intrusive on students Fourth Amendment rights when weighed against school
officials interest in providing a safe school environment.
Metal detectors became more commonplace in school environments in the 1990s causing their
constitutionality to be challenged. However, courts soon clarified that individualized suspicion was
not needed for schools to use of metal detectors. For example, the Pennsylvania high court upheld a
general, uniform search of all students for weapons as they entered the high school building; each
student s personal belongings were searched, and then a security officer scanned each student with a
metal detector. The court concluded that the

Fiber Optic Biosensors
Abstract:
This paper studies the clinical use of fiber optic biosensors, its advantages over traditional means of
detection and limitations of this new technology. An in depth study of its history, how the technology
works, and comparisons with older methods of bio sensing will also be made.
Introduction:
A biosensor is a device or method that allows a certain specific biological material to be detected.
Common forms of detection are Fluorescence techniques, Raman Scattering, Plasmon Resonance,
Near infrared Spectroscopy and diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. These detection methods each have
distinct advantages and disadvantages, and can adapt to a variety of different applications for different
situations. However, traditional methods of biosensing usually requires the molecule to be labeled
with an analyte, which must be chemically bound the molecule that is to be detected, making such
methods slow, cumbersome and sometimes even toxic to the body. ... Show more content on

are pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs) and cardiac monitors. Also, implantable
catheters and ports are used for venous access and drug delivery in patients, with conditions such as
cancer and systemic hypertension.
However, these devices are prone to failure, most notably due to thrombus formation. The
pathological development of a thrombus presents considerable health hazards as it is not haemostasis
(normal thrombus formation). A pathological thrombus is created when there is an interruption to the
blood coagulation system equilibrium. This can block the flow of blood which causes numerous
amounts of severe health conditions. If it separates from the wall of a vessel and embeds in the lungs,
or other major organs, it can be a death causing embolus. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was hypothesised by Rudolph Virchow that irregularities in three parts (Virchow s triad) lead to the
formation and spreading of thrombus. Nowadays it is achievable to measure some of the influences
that increase the development of venous thromboembolism (VTE) and other cardiovascular
syndromes. The Virchow triad suggested that the formation and proliferation of thrombus was caused
by (i) blood flow, (ii) vessel wall and (iii) blood components. Irregularities in any of these three areas
can lead to formation of thrombus.
Platelet aggregates and fibrin are components of thrombi that develop on medical devices that are in
contact with blood. Therefore, it seems the most obvious solution to use anticoagulants and
antiplatelet agents to inhibit or handle clotting. Therefore, it is crucial that haematologists comprehend
the mechanisms behind clotting caused by medical devices in contact with blood and how to treat

The American Dream Research Paper
The American Dream When you think of the traditional American Dream; what do you think of? Do
you think of a happy family with a very hard working father? Or do you think of a poor and unhealthy

well in society? The traditional American Dream is supposed to be realistic for everyone, but is it? Is
anyone actually living the American Dream? People in the U.S are not living the American Dream

Propaganda can be seen all around us, it is used to influence and persuade us to act or think in a

Peachtree Securities Case
1. The return on a 1 year T Bond is risk free since it does not vary according to the state of the
economy. The T Bond return is independent of the state of the economy because the estimated return

consider the expected return, then the S P 500 appears to be the best investments since it has the
greatest expected return.

a) The portfolio s risk would decrease if more stocks were. The correlation between stocks is also

b) I think investors consider the risk as a whole rather than by each. Nevertheless, if a big part of a
portfolio is made up of a risky stock, it would make the portfolio more risky as a whole.
c) Total risk is made by Diversifiable (company specific) risk and market (non diversifiable) risk.
Unique events to a particular firm cause the diversifiable risk while factors that affect all companies
cause the market risk. The difference between diversifiable and market risk is that diversifiable risk
can be reduced by diversifying whereas market risk can not be eliminated.
d) No, because the market compensates risk diversification if you don t diversify is your fault and you

Food Waste Of Food
In 2012, enough food was discarded at the retail and consumer levels alone to provide 2,000 kcal per
day to 84% of the US adult population (Spiker et al). In comparison to this fact, it is also estimated
that 14.6 percent of US households are labeled food insecure (Bartfield et al). It is deeply concerning
that a large portion of the US population faces hunger on a daily basis while so much food is being
wasted just at the consumer and retail levels. Furthermore, this wasted food does not account for the
food that never even sees the market due to over production food deemed unfit for the market,
spillage, etc. This means there is even more food wasted that could provide for the hungry.
Food waste, meaning any food product produced and not consumed, occurs at three main levels:
production, retail, and consumer. Losses in production occur when food is discarded before arriving at
its destination after leaving the farm. Losses in retail occur when food is discarded before being sold
to restaurants or individuals. Finally, consumer losses occur when any food is discarded after the retail
level. Various reasons for discarding food on any level include but are not limited to spoilage,
aesthetics (e.g. bruising, coloring, size, shape), overproduction or over purchasing, and damaged
packaging. It should also be noted that a difficulty arises when analyzing food loss because of inedible
parts of food. For example, meat sold bone in consists of a total weight when sold to

Technical Elements In The Film Louder Than A Bomb
The documentary Louder than a bomb is a documentary about a group of teenagers who compete in a
spoken word competition. The documentary uses many technical elements to portray unique
characteristics of every character in the film. One specific character, Nate Marshall, is greatly
developed using these technical elements. The technical elements of the documentary show Nate to be
affectionate, committed, helpful, and reserved. In many scenes, Nate is shown to be affectionate to
others in the film. One specific example is when he is shown spending time with his nephew in his
house, as an introduction to his poem A letter to my unborn nephew . This scene showed a two shot of

for the competition. A technical element that is used, in this scene is the close up shot. The close up
shot shows Nate s facial expressions while he is performing. In the shot Nate has a blank face while
performing, and at times, his eyes seem to be closed. This shows that Nate is focussed on his poetry
and wants to perform it, to the best of his ability. It also shows the audience that Nate is not thinking
about anything else, except is performance. This is why the audience can come to the conclusion, the
Nate is committed to his poetry. Furthermore Nate is shown to be very helpful in the documentary.
One scene where this characteristic is portrayed, is when Nate is helping his group members improve
their performances after school in a classroom. One technical element used in this scene is the two
shot. In this scene the two shot shows Nate giving tips to one of the group members. This allows the
audience to see the relationship between him and his group member. Nate is shown describing how to
perform a poem by moving around, and using several hand motions, while his student is looking at

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this experiment was to determine if soft drinks manufactured by Coca Cola use
phosphoric acid in their product formula. An analysis of their product concentrations of HCl and
H3PO4 was performed using the potentiometric titration method, with a standardized 0.1002 M NaOH
solution. The molarities of HCl and H3PO4 were determined by plotting the titration data, the first
derivative, and the second derivative of this data. The results of our analysis of the three trials found
the molarities of HCl to be 0.1232 M, 0.1232 M, and 0.1230 M, with a mean of 0.1231 M and an
average deviation of 0.8 parts per thousand. We are 95% confident that for this set of data, the true
mean lies within the range of 0.1228 and 0.1234 M. The molarities of H3PO4 were found to be 0.1709
M, 0.1706 M, and 0.1702 M, with a mean of 0.1706 M and an average deviation of 1 part per
thousand. We are 95% confident that for this set of data, the true mean lies within the range of 0.1698
and 0.1714 M. These values compare well to literature values for the

Outsourcing and the Global Environment Essay
Outsourcing and the Global Environment
Abstract
The following paper will detail the impact on businesses concerning outsourcing and the global
environment. This paper will outline the needs of the modern business to embrace the concept of
outsourcing and the need to educate employees on the diversity of global business practices.
Outsourcing
The need of the modern business to look outside of the doors of the company to improve profit
margins has become a necessity in today s market. The advent of technology and crossing of borders
have expanded this search for efficiencies to other countries.
There have been great strides made in the global market to outsource various segments of businesses.
One of the biggest gainers in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The last, often unaddressed issue, of outsourcing and displaced American employees is that of the
overpriced employee. The public has become complacent in the fact that no one else will compete for
jobs. Unions have overpriced their employees driving the company to look elsewhere for suitable
replacements. This attitude of inherent job protection from outside sources has actually drove
companies to outsource.
The savings associated from outsourcing by the companies are significant. This savings will reduce as
more companies send jobs overseas. The countries will become savvier at negotiating an equitable
wage for their employees and the cost will go up. At this current time companies are able to capitalize
on the countries being willing to perform work for very little pay to get the business but this will not
always be the case.
Global Awareness.
Companies must educate not only there employees but the public when it comes to the subject of
outsourcing. There are a variety of subject that the employees of a company should be aware of when
business is being conducted abroad. Customs and culture are one of the biggest items that must be
addressed in conducting business.
What was considered taboo in the United States may be an accepted and often expected practice in
some other countries. For instance in some countries it is expected to bribe officials and acceptable
form of business. This would never be tolerated in the United States but is an

Parable Of The Sower Octavia Butler Essay
God is Power infinite, irresistible, inexorable, indifferent. And yet, God is Pliable trickster, teacher,
chaos, clay. God exists to be shaped. God is Change. (Butler 25). In Parable of the Sower Octavia
Butler introduces the concept of religion through her characters specifically Lauren. In a society that is
crumbling, religion is seemed to be the only thing striving. The idea that although society could be
falling apart many of the characters either cling to their beliefs, or shy away from them. Laurens
creation of Earthseed proves that in a failing society, the concept of religion somehow still survives. In
the very beginning of the book Lauren begins to question the idea of God. Since she grew up in a
religious setting (her father being a pastor) much of her religious knowledge comes from the church.
However, from a very early start Lauren has always begun to question the very principles that were
taught to her. In present society, the issues are just beginning. Lauren is in a secluded community,
unable to leave because of the unknown dangers outside the walls. It s no surprise she begins to
question the principles of God. In the book of Job, God says he made everything and he knows
everything so no one has any right to question what he does with any of it. Okay. That works. That
Old Testament God doesn t violate the way things are now. But that God sounds a lot like Zeus a super
powerful man, playing with his toys the way my youngest brothers play with toy

Wealth Of Nations By Adam Smith
In his book, Wealth of Nations, Adam Smith makes arguments to support free trade. These arguments
range from having to do with war, all the way to the structure of social classes. In order to assess the
morality of these arguments, David Hume s definition of morality and Kant s definition of morality
can be used. These definitions, ultimately, serve as context for Smith s arguments, so that there is a
clearer idea of whether they are moral or not. From this, modern readers of Smith s book can better
determine the positive and negative qualities of Smith s idea of free trade. Kant s definition of
morality contrasts with Hume s definition. For Kant, morality is split into three categories, the analytic
imperative, the hypothetical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Smith writes that it is moral for society to have different levels of wealth based on talent and hard
work. His feels that the lowest people in a free trade society will still be better off than some top
people in a non free trade society. He mentions how a collier worker commonly earns double, and in
many parts of Scotland, three times as much as common labor (Smith 1.8). In other words, the
possession of a skill causes the worker to make more, since, unlike a common laborer who can easily
be swapped out, a skilled laborer can only be swapped out with someone who possesses that particular
skill. This discussion related to social class would be agreeable to Hume s definition of morality. In
particular, it fits into Hume s idea of using reason to determine whether an action is moral or not.
Since the worker who makes less than the skilled worker would still be able to support themselves,
Hume would feel that the situation is moral. Hume ultimately would argue that as long as the person,
making less, is not suffering, then the income difference is moral. Kant s definition of morality would
also agree with Smith s discussion of social classes. This is because this discussion in Smith s book,
falls under the analytic imperative. In Kant s definition of morality, it would be moral for people to
make more because of a skill. This is because people would seek to acquire a skill, or talent if they
wanted to earn more based off of

Eusebius Pamphilus Life Of The Blessed Emperor
The Life of the Blessed Emperor Constantine Part One is one in a set of four in depth historical books
about the life of Constantine, and is authored by Eusebius Pamphilus (also known as Eusebius of
Caesarea). Eusebius structured this book to follow the history of Constantine from the time of his birth
until the time of Licinius (Maxamin II Daia) decline into ill health. Eusebius of Caesarea, born in 260
A.D. and died in 340 A.D, is referred to as the father of church history due to his penchant recording
of historical church events. Moreover, Eusebius was an educated man, which allowed him the skill to
record the history of the church as told to him, often times by witnesses themselves. In addition,
Eusebius was a devout Christian. During the year 313, Eusebius Pamphili was named bishop of
Caesarea. It s no surprise why Eusebius writes about Flavius Valerias Constantinus (Constantine) with
not only fervor but veneration in this book. Constantine s father, Constantius Chlorus, was a devout

Whole Foods Market ( Wfm ) Essay
Whole Foods Market (WFM) is a leading natural and organic food supermarket founded in Austin,
Texas by four local business people: John Mackey and Renee Lawson Hardy, owners of Safer Way
Natural Foods, and Craig Weller and Mark Skiles, owners of Clarksville Natural Grocery. WFM
opened its first store in 1980, they staffed their first store with only 19 workers, the store was an
immediate success partly because at the time there were less than half a dozen organic stores in the
entire country. The original WFM store opened on September in 1980 after Safer Way and Clarksville
Natural Foods partnered, the 10,500 square feet location was quite larger than the standard health food
store of the 80 s. The business had its first hiccup a year after they opened their doors, their entire
inventory was lost and most of the equipment was damaged by a historic flood that devastated the city
of Austin. The owners did not have insurance but they were able to quickly get back on their feet due
to the volunteered help of neighbors and customers as well as the help of creditors, vendors, and
investors who provided breathing room for them. The store reopened just after 28 days of the flood.
The expansion of the business happened quickly in the late 80 s. New locations appeared in Houston
and Dallas, then New Orleans. In 1989, WFM expanded to the West Coast and opened a store in Palo
Alto, CA. WFM started acquiring several different natural foods chains such as Wellspring Grocery of

basic features in a study. This describes what is going on in the data and is used to present quantitative

The Upper Paleolithic era an era between 40,000 and 11,000 years ago contained peoples in what is

In 2012, there were 6,360 new diagnoses of HIV, contributing to a total of 128,805 cases reported by
the end of 2012. Following the identification of AIDS in the UK in the early 1980s, a steady increase
of the number of people were diagnosed with HIV. From 1987 to 1990 the total number of reported
HIV diagnoses almost doubled, from 8,888 to 15,570. HIV/AIDS was initially concentrated among
three high risk groups men who have sex with men (MSM), injecting drug users and people who had
receive blood products. Annual HIV diagnoses increased rapidly till 2004. Much of this rise is because
of infections transmitted via heterosexual sex. Since 2005, the sum of people who picked up HIV
through heterosexual contact has been reduced while new HIV diagnoses among MSM have been
continuously increasing. These two routes of transmission now have similar annual figures. According
to Public Health England (2013) HIV in the United Kingdom: 2013 report , injecting drug use has
played a smaller part in the HIV epidemic in the UK than it has in many other high income countries.
During 2012, a reported 120 people diagnosed with HIV acquired it through this transmission route. In
the initial phases of the UK epidemic few HIV diagnose were of women. Unlike in other parts of the
world, such as sub Saharan Africa, where more women are living with HIV than men, HIV diagnoses
in the UK have persistently been majority male.

My First Day Of School Essay
We met during our second last year of high school. Back then, I had transferred to Richmond High
from my old school, Churchill, to study in the IB program they offered. I was quite looking forward to
it, actually. I felt that the past years of my life had been wasted on social life and boys who just
disappointed me at the end. Moving to a new school was a way to break free, to start anew and focus
on something different for a change. Studies. That s right, I was going to focus on studies. Plus, I had
quite a few close friends who were going to be there, and that made it even better. The first day of
school had been fun. I had some classes with the people I was familiar with. Even the morning classes
didn t sound so bad, since my best friends were in there. Lucy Sun and Anna Zhang were among the
reasons of why I had wanted to transfer. The three of us had known each other since a young age.
They might have been a little crazy back then, but awesome none the same. They were the friends I
would never want to let go of. They were best friends as well, though it seemed unlikely. Those two
were as different as two people can get. Lucy was slim, with a small figure and a pretty face to match.
She had short hair back then, and the locks barely reached her shoulders. She dressed the way Korea
or Asian girls would dress, delicate and feminine. She took great interest in hair styles and sometimes
complained about how her short hair didn t allow her to wear the style she wanted.

The Ego In Ice Age
The movie Ice Age is fictionally set during prehistoric times, which includes abounding amounts of
extinct animals such as: woolly mammoths, saber tooth tigers, and ground sloths. This filmography is
centered around three main characters who are Sid who is a ground sloth and Id, Diego who is a saber
tooth tiger and Ego, and Manny who is a woolly mammoth and superego. In the beginning of the
movie Manny saves Sid from being eaten by predators, because of this Sid decides to stay with Manny
who was not migrating, later in the movies they find a baby and mother in a river. Surprisingly the
mother ends up leaving the baby with Sid and Manny, unfortunately Diego tries to take the baby so he

Within the cinema Ice Age Diego the saber tooth tiger is the ego. Diego is useful in combat and for
seriousness does whatever his pack leader tells him to do, does what s right because he s not a terrible
person. At the beginning of the movie Diego decides to steal a baby from it s tribe in order to feed his
pack. Even though this sounds like id, this is ego because it is a realistic demand and satisfies Diego
and his pack which he finds right. Later in the movie Diego decides he is taking Manny and the baby
to his pack to be eaten, however even though this is harming manny and the baby, unfortunately Diego
does not care because it does not harm him it is pleasing him and his pack. At the end of the end of the
movie Diego decides to save his group from being eaten by his saber tooth tiger pack, because
throughout the movie they have become his extended family and realized they accept him more then
his actually pack does. Diego saves them because he came to acknowledge that he saving the baby
was the right thing to do for himself and the baby. Tnis scene both an example of ego and superego,

Big Bang Theory The Premise
The Big Bang theory is an effort to explain what happened at the very beginning of our universe.
Discoveries in astronomy and physics have shown beyond a reasonable doubt that our universe did in
fact have a beginning. Prior to that moment there was nothing; during and after that moment there was
something: our universe. The big bang theory is an effort to explain what happened during and after
that moment.
According to the standard theory, our universe sprang into existence as singularity around 13.7 billion
years ago. What is a singularity and where does it come from? Well, to be honest, we don t know for
sure. Singularities are zones which defy our current understanding of physics. They are thought ...

In 1965, Radioastronomers Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson discovered a 2.725 degree Kelvin (
454.765 degree Fahrenheit, 270.425 degree Celsius) Cosmic Microwave Background radiation (CMB)
which pervades the observable universe. This is thought to be the remnant which scientists were
looking for. Penzias and Wilson shared in the 1978 Nobel Prize for Physics for their discovery. *
Finally, the abundance of the light elements Hydrogen and Helium found in the observable universe
are thought to support the Big Bang model of origins.
Big Bang Theory The Only Plausible Theory?
Is the standard Big Bang theory the only model consistent with these evidences? No, it s just the most
popular one. Internationally renown Astrophysicist George F. R. Ellis explains: People need to be
aware that there is a range of models that could explain the observations....For instance, I can
construct you a spherically symmetrical universe with Earth at its center, and you cannot disprove it
based on observations....You can only exclude it on philosophical grounds. In my view there is
absolutely nothing wrong in that. What I want to bring into the open is the fact that we are using
philosophical criteria in choosing our models. A lot of cosmology tries to hide that. 4
In 2003, Physicist Robert Gentry proposed an attractive alternative to the standard theory, an
alternative which also accounts for the evidences listed above.5 Dr. Gentry claims that the standard
Big Bang model is

An Analysis Of Flannery O Connor s A Good Man
In Flannery O Connor s short story A Good Man is Hard to Find , the fate of the family is
foreshadowed within the very first few paragraphs. The grandmother in the story tries to convince the
family that going to Tennessee would be much more suitable for the family vacation not only because
had the children been to Florida before, but there is a criminal who has escaped from federal prison
and is headed that way (1076). She tries to inform her son, Bailey, and his wife of the convict who
claims himself as The Misfit, but the couple ignores her and the children suggest that if she is worried,
she should just stay home (1076). The second element of foreshadowing depicted in the short story is
seen when the grandmother hides her cat in a basket (1076). The grandmother is aware that the son
does not know about the cat and it may startle him or upset him later (1077). Alternatively to the first
two uses of foreshadowing, the third use is not seen until the family s encounter with Red Sammy,
when he informs the family about just how bad The Misfit is (1080). He tells them that he wouldn t be
surprised if The Misfit tried to rob him for two cents (1080). All of these tie together at the end of the
story and relate back to the grandmother. It can be assumed that if the grandmother would have stayed
home as John Wesley, her grandson had advised, that the family s fate would not have ended the way
that it did. While the parents and children hold the responsibility for choosing

America s Illicit Drug Networks And The State Reaction
After reading Mexico s Illicit Drug Networks and the State Reaction, I have concluded that this short
read is highly informative and intriguing. I personally was drawn in by the horrific stories of violence,
kidnapping, and mass murders of deadly encounters, and fascinated by learning how the state planned
and responded. Author Nathan Jones, is able to illustrate why Mexican drug cartels have been able to
prolong existence while under attack by Mexico and the United States. He is able to do so by
examining and comparing two types of illicit drug networks and how they provoke different state
reactions based on their business strategy. Jones relates his discoveries to the Arellano Felix
Organization because it was one of the first Mexican cartel to be targeted by the state and split along
trafficking oriented and territorial lines [where] one survived and one did not (p. 12). This read is
significant because it allows for the government to better distinguish between drug networks that will
withstand the test of time, and those that will crumble under pressure. Jones utilizes his findings and
applied it to the novel, and the current drug prohibition program. Jones applied a combination of
various fieldwork methods in order to gather the data displayed in the book. He states how in addition
to extensively researching archival court documents, media and government reports, [he] conducted
an academic year of fieldwork in Mexico City and Tijuana while building [his] historical

  • 2. Jesus Villahermosa Thesis After reading the essay written by Jesus Villahermosa I believe his thesis statement is Given my extensive experience dealing with violence in the workplace and at schools and colleges, I do not think professors and administrators, let alone students, should carry guns . In his second paragraph, he lays out reason as to why he feels this way and shows that he can be considered an expert in firearm safety. Giving information into his background reinforces his position and add to his argument against arming people on college campuses. Some may be surprised that he is against having armed professors and students on campus because of his background. However, I am not surprised that he is strongly against having firearm toting professors, administrators and students throughout campuses. He is properly trained, experienced with firearm safety and marksmanship which in turn gives him great support to his argument. Villahermosa gave ample reasons to support his argument against carrying weapons on college campuses throughout his essay. The most persuasive reason he gives against guns on campus is Will faculty and staff members be prepared to kill ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He gave clear and abundant reasons to back up his argument and laid out many consequences for having a policy that would allow guns on campus. With colleges already struggling financially a policy allowing guns would bring even more need for funding to cash strapped institutions. The training required would be extensive and costly to have competent people carrying and ready to use their gun if needed. The risks involved in allowing guns on campus seem to be extremely high and wildly unpredictable. It would make it harder for police to distinguish between the good guy and the bad guy in a crisis. Schools and employees would be subjected to lawsuits and even imprisonment if innocent bystanders are shot instead of intended ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Persuasive Essay On Confederate Monuments The Civil War was a clouded era where judgement was ill evolved, however, it was a cultural turning point in the history of our nation. Our nation hasn t always been the cultural mixing pot it is now, to get to this point there were many things that had to be taken into consideration, and we need to keep that in mind throughout history so we can be knowledgeable of how we got to where we are today. In the past months, there has been a big spark in the debate of confederate monuments and if they should be removed or be able to stay. I argue that confederate monuments should be preserved to be honest about our nation s past. What is a monument, and why are people still talking about a topic that took place over a century ago? Well according to the Cambridge Academic Content Dictionary, monument means, a statue, building, or other structure erected to commemorate a famous or notable person or event. (Cambridge Academic Content Dictionary...) So, when we think about monuments sometimes we only think of statues, but they are also buildings and they don t always honor just a person but sometimes an event as a whole. Although some of the monuments may have been put up in vein, they all have a story to tell about our history. Most confederate monuments were erected 50 years after the end of the civil war, as veterans began to pass away. As the veterans of the war began to die, there was a renewed push for reconciliation between North and South. (Davidson 2017) Also during the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Transcendentalism In Henry David Thoreau The Transcendentalism in Henry David Thoreau Henry David Thoreau once said, It s not what you look at that matters, it s what you see. Transcendentalists were often less concerned with what they saw in front of them, and more concerned on what it meant. Transcendentalism is certainly about forgetting the literal meaning of things and taking into account the divinity of them. Thoreau s impression of this genre shows up regularly in his works. Henry David Thoreau s independence and time with Emerson strengthened his as a transcendentalist as shown in Walden and A Winter s Walk. Henry David Thoreau was a major figure in the transcendentalist movement. He was born in Concord, Massachusetts on July 12, 1817 ( Henry David Thoreau biography.co). Richard J. Schneider s article, Thoreau s Life reveals that he went to public school in Concord, then attended Concord Academy. Thoreau was somewhat different than other children in Concord. As a child he rarely followed the rules and was independent and strong willed (Brozo, et al. 377). Being independent as a child shows up very clearly in Thoreau s adult life. Later Schneider states that Thoreau went to Harvard College and graduated in the top of his class. However, he had to graduate early because he was very ill and not financially able to continue. Thoreau worked at many places throughout the years. He taught at a school, worked at his family s pencil factory, and opened a school with his brother (Schneider). He even worked as a land surveyor (Witherell and Dubrulle). Thoreau was friends with a great transcendentalist writer, Ralph Waldo Emerson. Thoreau spent two years living at a place called Walden Pond, which was property of Emerson ( Henry David Thoreau biography.com). As stated in the biography, Henry David Thoreau, He experimented with working as little as possible rather than engage in the pattern of six days on with one day off. This may seem like a lazy way of living, but to Thoreau it was something more. He felt that this new approach helped him avoid the misery he saw around him ( Henry David ). The hardship that Thoreau was feeling from the world was the public. The public admired technology and did not appreciate nature like he did. Henry ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Discipleship Of Mark And The Gospel Of Thomas Discipleship in the Gospel of Mark and the Gospel of Thomas The roles of disciples play a very important part in developing the message of the gospels due to their close relation to Jesus throughout the stories. To start to understand the importance of the disciples first you have to understand the main purpose of the Gospels. The Gospels are written in order to describe Jesus s life on earth before Heaven. They give people insight to who Jesus was and create a stronger basis of belief in Jesus and God. In order to bring the Gospels to life they use the students of Jesus or Disciples to project his teachings and stories. The disciples take on many different roles in the varying gospels. They are students, friends, witnesses, observers, and worshipers of Jesus. Disciples come in many different forms of people as well. During the stories of the Gospels, Jesus is essentially walking along picking up new followers and experiencing new things with them. Throughout the experiences, Jesus teaches the disciples and they grow and learn and as a result the reader grows and learns as well. That is why the disciples play such a pivotal role in the comprehension of Jesus and him as a person. It becomes evident when analyzing the different Gospels that Jesus relationship with the Disciples is slightly changed in the varying texts. A noticeable difference in the development of the disciple s relationship to Jesus is present specifically in the Gospel of Mark and the Gospel of Thomas. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Ip Subnet Design IP Subnet Design Project Executive Summary The acronym subnet refers to sub networking. This is the process of logically dividing an IP network into various divisions or sections within a network. Therefore, sub netting is the technique and practice of dividing a network into two or more logical networks (Narten, Nordmark, Simpson Soliman 2007). Within a subnet, all computers connected to it are identifiable by their almost identical IP addresses. The use of IP addresses is in order to identify uniquely computers in a subnet by the use of a router or network IP prefix followed by a host or rest field identifier. This IP address composition makes it easy to trace the network within which the sub network is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hence, there is a reduction of recipients at each sub network the sub networks through using sub networks. This, therefore, speeds up the performance of the network (Mogul Postel, 1985). CBCS Technical IP Sub netting Problem CBCS has Wide Area Networks in place in its new locations, in the Houston region. It also has two other regions: San Francisco and Denver. CBCS has an issue with the IP addressing infrastructure in place. The current infrastructure makes use of static IP addresses, which in truth, causes a lot of overheads in terms of network management and traffic. There is the lack of a VLAN structure in place to manage and isolate any broadcast traffic that the CBCS network utilizes. On the same note, the Wide Area Network traffic that CBCS makes use of has also been noted to be struggling to handle the traffic of the CBCS network. Under CBCS, there are four main departments: Human Resources, Finance, Sales, and Research and Development. IP Sub netting Solution IP sub netting will be the best solution to take into account for CBCS. Through sub netting, it is possible to divide logically the CBCS network into four main sub networks that can be sub netted, again, to form sub sub networks within them, accordingly (Pummill Manning, 1995). The procedure of sub netting entails the separation and differentiation of the main CBCS network and the CBCS subnet portion of an IP address from the host IP identifier. In comparison to this fact, it is also estimated that 14.6 percent of US households are labeled food insecure (Bartfield et al). It is deeply concerning that a large portion of the US population faces hunger on a daily basis while so much food is being wasted just at the consumer and retail levels. Furthermore, this wasted food does not account for the food that never even sees the market due to over production food deemed unfit for the market, spillage, etc. This means there is even more food wasted that could provide for the hungry. Food waste, meaning any food product produced and not consumed, occurs at three main levels: production, retail, and consumer. Losses in production occur when food is discarded before arriving at its destination after leaving the farm. Losses in retail occur when food is discarded before being sold to restaurants or individuals. Finally, consumer losses occur when any food is discarded after the retail level. Various reasons for discarding food on any level include but are not limited to spoilage, aesthetics (e.g. bruising, coloring, size, shape), overproduction or over purchasing, and damaged packaging. The last, often unaddressed issue, of outsourcing and displaced American employees is that of the overpriced employee. The public has become complacent in the fact that no one else will compete for jobs. Unions have overpriced their employees driving the company to look elsewhere for suitable replacements. This attitude of inherent job protection from outside sources has actually drove companies to outsource. The savings associated from outsourcing by the companies are significant. This savings will reduce as more companies send jobs overseas. The countries will become savvier at negotiating an equitable wage for their employees and the cost will go up. In a society that is crumbling, religion is seemed to be the only thing striving. The idea that although society could be falling apart many of the characters either cling to their beliefs, or shy away from them. Laurens creation of Earthseed proves that in a failing society, the concept of religion somehow still survives. In the very beginning of the book Lauren begins to question the idea of God. Since she grew up in a religious setting (her father being a pastor) much of her religious knowledge comes from the church. However, from a very early start Lauren has always begun to question the very principles that were taught to her. In present society, the issues are just beginning. Lauren is in a secluded community, unable to leave because of the unknown dangers outside the walls. It s no surprise she begins to question the principles of God. In the book of Job, God says he made everything and he knows everything so no one has any right to question what he does with any of it. Okay. That works. • 34. Wealth Of Nations By Adam Smith In his book, Wealth of Nations, Adam Smith makes arguments to support free trade. These arguments range from having to do with war, all the way to the structure of social classes. In order to assess the morality of these arguments, David Hume s definition of morality and Kant s definition of morality can be used. These definitions, ultimately, serve as context for Smith s arguments, so that there is a clearer idea of whether they are moral or not. From this, modern readers of Smith s book can better determine the positive and negative qualities of Smith s idea of free trade. Kant s definition of morality contrasts with Hume s definition. For Kant, morality is split into three categories, the analytic imperative, the hypothetical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Smith writes that it is moral for society to have different levels of wealth based on talent and hard work. His feels that the lowest people in a free trade society will still be better off than some top people in a non free trade society. He mentions how a collier worker commonly earns double, and in many parts of Scotland, three times as much as common labor (Smith 1.8). In other words, the possession of a skill causes the worker to make more, since, unlike a common laborer who can easily be swapped out, a skilled laborer can only be swapped out with someone who possesses that particular skill. This discussion related to social class would be agreeable to Hume s definition of morality. In particular, it fits into Hume s idea of using reason to determine whether an action is moral or not. Since the worker who makes less than the skilled worker would still be able to support themselves, Hume would feel that the situation is moral. Hume ultimately would argue that as long as the person, making less, is not suffering, then the income difference is moral. Kant s definition of morality would also agree with Smith s discussion of social classes. This is because this discussion in Smith s book, falls under the analytic imperative. In Kant s definition of morality, it would be moral for people to make more because of a skill. Whole Foods Market ( Wfm ) Essay Whole Foods Market (WFM) is a leading natural and organic food supermarket founded in Austin, Texas by four local business people: John Mackey and Renee Lawson Hardy, owners of Safer Way Natural Foods, and Craig Weller and Mark Skiles, owners of Clarksville Natural Grocery. WFM opened its first store in 1980, they staffed their first store with only 19 workers, the store was an immediate success partly because at the time there were less than half a dozen organic stores in the entire country. The owners did not have insurance but they were able to quickly get back on their feet due to the volunteered help of neighbors and customers as well as the help of creditors, vendors, and investors who provided breathing room for them. The store reopened just after 28 days of the flood. The expansion of the business happened quickly in the late 80 s. New locations appeared in Houston and Dallas, then New Orleans. In 1989, WFM expanded to the West Coast and opened a store in Palo Alto, CA. WFM started acquiring several different natural foods chains such as Wellspring Grocery of ... This read is significant because it allows for the government to better distinguish between drug networks that will withstand the test of time, and those that will crumble under pressure. Jones utilizes his findings and applied it to the novel, and the current drug prohibition program. Jones applied a combination of various fieldwork methods in order to gather the data displayed in the book. He states how in addition to extensively researching archival court documents, media and government reports, [he] conducted an academic year of fieldwork in Mexico City and Tijuana while building [his] historical ...
