Oral History Paper The subject of my interview is a 68 year elderly Vietnamese man named Minh Bi
Ngo. Mr. Ngo has white long hair, a medium long white beard and a distinctive mole on the bottom of
his left eye and a thick Vietnamese accent. He was born and raised in Vietnam on April 3rd, 1947. He
is also a widow who is currently living with his daughter in Westminster, Orange County. Originally,
Mr. Ngo was from the city of Buon Ma Thuot in the province of Dak Lak, Vietnam. He then
immigrated to Falls Church, Virginia where he began his new life in the United States. At the time of
the interview, Mr. Ngo looked very exhausted yet grateful at the same time. I had the opportunity to
meet Mr. Ngo through his daughter, who is a friend of my cousin. I conducted the interview on the
afternoon of September 24th, which lasted for two hours. During the interview Mr. Ngo shared with
me his experiences during the Vietnam war, his times in the Vietnamese Reeducation camps, his
immigration to the United States, and his involvement in the Vietnamese community today. As the

In 1136, thirty eight year old Hildegard was passed the role of abbess after the death of Jutta in her
forty fifth year. It was during her year as an abbess that she decided to share her visions with the
world. Each time Hildegard had a vision she became more ill, therefore, she believed keeping these

Over the course of the novels, it is revealed the ways in which dangerous tendencies can lead to
rejection and ultimately to physical and mental defeat. Put bluntly, these works illustrates the ways in
which rejection and desolation affects a certain character and the epiphany that ultimately comes to
light due to the tragic consequences they face. In Heart of Darkness, Kurtz highly dangerous instincts

James K. Polk And Manifest Destiny
James K. Polk was elected as president of the United States in 1848 and with him he brought a
determination to expand territory more than any other president had before. In his one term
administration he expanded the country by two thirds. Polks hunger for more land resulted in a war
with Mexico over Texas which evoked lots of opposition from the Whig party. The idea of Manifest
Destiny was germinating throughout Democrats everywhere, countering the Whig ideology of true

there because it would simply not work in the natural conditions of the lands but southerners strongly
disagreed. Northern congressmen tried to pass a resolution known as the Wilmot Proviso to exclude
slavery from the new territory, extremely infuriating southerners and dividing the parties into a

Through the Bhagavad Gita and the Book of Job we see the similar ways that different religions affirm
that the individual can t have the same level of knowledge as the divine. We also, however, see that
while Hinduism offers an explanation for this knowledge disparity, and offers a path of empowerment
that allows the individual to strive for the knowledge level of the divine, Judaism simply deems that
we are insignificant beings when compared to God, and that we can t ever achieve nearly the same

pressure and other factors, including by not exclusive to decreased tissue perfusion, excess moisture,

George Milton is complex. Lennie and George are two companions who look for work and brave the

My Fairy Dream
I grew up in a world full of fairy tales and Disney characters. My parents who were trying to find a
way to distract my 5 years old mind turn on the tv, and there I was admittedly taken on a journey to a
magical place where I was safe in the knowledge that every ending is happy ever after. (this is an
extended metaphor where I compare Disney to the real world I used this to show the reader how I
thought the world was as happy and perfect as Disney and television makes them out to be). I soon
came to the realization that the world is not so happy after all.
I got out of the car and walk into the doors of my new school, I was like Nemo when he got taken
away from his home and got put into a completely new environment, (I use this simile to compare
how nervous and scared I was going to a new school.) I continue to be hopeful and started to
introduced myself to everyone, I was lucky enough to find my best friend in that class, but not
everyone was as welcoming as she was to me, I started to notice that people were being really distance
from me, and I couldn t put my finger on it. And then during recess, I overheard a conversation from a
group of girls in my class, did you see the new girl she has the thickest accent ever, she must be really
stupid. Everything around me stops and my body was a statue (This is a metaphor explaining how I
felt when I found out that my accent was the thing limiting people from seeing my true capabilities).
