The excretory system consists of organs that remove waste from the body, including the kidneys and liver. The kidneys filter blood and remove liquid waste in the form of urine via nephrons. The liver is the main detoxifying organ and converts toxic ammonia into less toxic urea before it is removed by the kidneys. Other organs like the lungs, skin, and intestines also play roles in excretion by removing gases, water, and solid waste from the body.
