1. Examples Of Personal Narrative Essays
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Examples of Personal Narrative Essays" presents a unique
set of challenges. The difficulty lies not only in the need for a deep understanding of the concept
but also in the requirement to provide tangible examples that resonate with the reader. This task
demands a delicate balance between personal experiences and universal themes to create a
narrative that is both relatable and insightful.
To start with, identifying suitable personal anecdotes that align with the chosen theme can be a
formidable task. The writer must sift through a myriad of life experiences, selecting those that
not only connect with the topic but also possess the capacity to captivate the audience. This
process involves introspection, self-analysis, and the ability to discern the narrative potential
within one's own life.
Moreover, weaving these chosen experiences into a cohesive and engaging narrative is a
challenge that requires honed storytelling skills. Transitioning smoothly from one episode to
another, maintaining a consistent tone, and ensuring a logical flow of events are critical aspects
that demand careful attention. The essay should not read like a mere collection of stories but
rather as a harmonious composition that seamlessly unfolds to convey a meaningful message or
insight.
Furthermore, the writer must consider the delicate balance between introspection and the
reader's perspective. Sharing personal experiences is one thing, but transforming them into a
narrative that resonates universally is another challenge altogether. Striking the right chord to
evoke empathy and understanding without alienating the audience requires a nuanced approach
to storytelling.
In conclusion, crafting an essay on the topic of personal narrative essays requires a combination
of introspection, storytelling finesse, and the ability to connect personal experiences with broader
themes. The process demands time, effort, and a keen awareness of the desired impact on the
reader. For those seeking assistance with similar essays or any writing challenges, there are

An Analysis of Killings Throughout the story, Matt becomes faced with conflicting
values that will each affect his life in different ways. The first conflicting values
appear to be vengeance and morality. In the beginning to the text on page four,
Matt discusses with his friend Willis, his anger towards the fact that Richard is out
on bail leading to his wife being forced to see Richard around town while she runs
her daily errands. It is later mentioned on page five that Matt has begun to carry
around a gun since Ruth saw Richard around town. Although, the value of vengeance
is seemingly implicit at the beginning of the story, it becomes an explicit value
towards the end of the story. During the execution of Matt s plan for vengeance it
7. The Gothic Cathedral Summary
Otto von Simson, The Gothic cathedral: origins of Gothic architecture and the
medieval concept of order (New York: Pantheon Books, 1956), 21 39. In this excerpt,
von Simson looks at how the writings of intellectuals influenced the development of
Gothic architecture. He begins by looking at the writings of St. Augustine and his
love for music and how the importance of measurement found in music also applies to
architecture. He then goes on to address two important schools of thought that
influenced the formation of the Gothic style: The Platonists with their focus on
cosmology, and the monks at Clairvaux, including St. Bernard, who focused on
spirituality. In this section, von Simson focuses on the former and the connection
between the cosmos and the Gothic cathedral. He argues that these medieval scholars
saw God as an architect and the cosmos as his cathedral. In his study of both St.
Augustine and the Plantonists, von Simson works to identify the ways in which these
intellectual schools of thought influenced Gothic architecture. In his study, von
Simson looks at the writings of many intellectuals and analyses them in terms of
Gothic architecture. He begins with St. Augustine s De musica and takes his attention
to proportion in music and applies it to architecture. He then uses Platonist texts like
the Timeaus and the writings of medieval author Abelard to see how cosmology was
viewed in medieval times. Von Simson s treatment of these primary sources is
interesting in
8. Shameless Analysis
When you associate words like shameless with everyday life you don t think of it
being a television show, one may think of shameless as a negative adjective used to
describe a person showing a lack of shame, but it s a comedy/drama television show
that really digs deep into real life scenarios and shows how a true dysfunctional family
lives in the hood of Chicago. Shameless details how much leadership and mental
stability Fiona Gallagher has to have in order to run a family of six in her early
twenties.
Shameless takes place modern day, small old house in the rough south side of
Chicago. The show goes from talking about a dysfunctional family, gay relationship,
alcoholic father, struggle to make ends meet, and the daily life of the Gallagher
family and their friends. Frank Gallagher is the alcoholic addicted father that does
the complete opposite of what a decent father would do for their family. He drinks
non stop, thinks he knows everything, never takes ownership, and shows zero
concern for his family unless it s convenient for him. Frank is the prime example
of a drunk father who only wants what s best for himself. Fiona is the daughter of
frank. She is the leader and mother like figure in the household. Lip, Ian, Carl,
Debbie, and Liam are the rest of the Gallagher family. Lip has the brains and has all
the potential in the world, but doesn t show it. Ian is the ambitious one in the family.
He struggles, whether he is straight or gay. Later in the show his true
9. Hamlet And Oedipus The King
A tragic hero can be defined as a courageous character who is destined for their own
destruction. These characters usually seek out to do something for the greater good,
but end up causing their own death. Sophocles Oedipus the King tells the life of a
king named Oedipus who is trying to solve the murder case of the former king. A
similar plotline is seen in Shakespeare s Hamlet, where Hamlet tries to uncover who
killed his father, who was also the king before his untimely death. Both characters set
out to do something good, but create many problems and ultimately find themselves
corrupted. Oedipusinitial introduction presents the character as a well rounded man
who is simply trying to help his people and serve justice. In the... Show more content

The two go back and forth for a while which ultimately ends in Oedipus sentencing
Creon to death for essentially treason. At this point in the play, it is clear that
Oedipus is making some rash decisions in order to clear his consciousness. It
appears he still wants to do the right thing, but nothing goes his way. As the play
progresses, a messenger is sent to tell Jocasta of Polybus , Oedipus believed father,
death. Oedipus is told of this and is relieved, as this is a sure sign that the prophesy
will not be true. The messenger then tells Oedipus that his father really was not his
father, and Oedipus questions the messenger on how he knows this. The messenger
explains that Oedipus was A gift he took you from these hands of mine (Sophocles
1553). The messenger saved Oedipus by bringing him to Polybus instead of
leaving him to die. Oedipus tells Jocasta of this new information and how he plans
to find out more, and Jocasta pleads with him to leave it alone. Finally, the
herdsman is brought in to answer Oedipus questions. The herdsman is hesitant at
first, but eventually tells Oedipus the truth. He was the one who gave a baby to the
messenger, the baby who was left to die by Laius and Jocasta. It is now clear to
Oedipus that this horrid oracle is true, and it is his life. Oedipus sets off to kill
Jocasta, but is shocked to find that she has committed suicide. All of this information
plus his mother s suicide has caused Oedipus so much mental distress

12. Understanding Weaknesses Of The Four Day Workweek
Understanding Weaknesses of the Four Day Workweek
Four day workweek, like the name suggests, calls for replacing the five eight hour
days with four ten hour days without changes in hourly earnings or weekly earnings.
Therefore, the same number of hours of work and leisure are provided at the same
earnings. The concept of a compressed workweek is not new, even if it is not the
norm for most jobs. Proposals to reduce weekly hours of work, a major concern of
American labor in the early years of century, are again a serious concern to many
people. The 2008 National Study of Employers, released by the Families and Work
Institute, found that 38 percent of US firms allow a compressed workweek for
some employees. Eight percent permit it for all or most employees (Gardner). When
a growing number of employers are considering converting to a compressed four day
workweek, it is important to understand positives and negatives of the new work
schedule, to analyze a specific example of company that have failed in converting to
the new policy, and to understand additional factors to consider before the
implementation of the new policy.
An advantage brought to employers is that the four day workweek helps
companies save money incurred on daily operation. When employees cram 40 hours
of work into four days, companies can save energy bills by closing for an extra one
day per week. For example, in 2009, Utah became the first state to institute an official
four day workweek for all state
13. Abortion By Judith Jarvis Thomson
Thomson s example shows that he is in support of the woman and her having the
right to say no. She has the right to walk away and say no to the violinist, even if
this means he dies. It is her body, and she did not give the violinist permission to
use it. The woman and the violinist are examples of rape in this case. If a man
physically rapes a woman, and she becomes pregnant, she has a right to an abortion
because she has not given the man or the fetus the right to use her body. Although the
abortion will kill the fetus, the woman s action is not unjust because the fetus did not
have the right to use her body. Now, if the woman voluntarily gave the violinist
permission to use her body for about nine months or years, and halfway through she

On August 6, Lewinsky appeared before the grand jury to begin her testimony, and
on August 17 President Clinton testified. Contrary to his testimony in the Paula
Jones sexual harassment case, President Clinton acknowledged to prosecutors
from the office of the independent counsel that he had had an extramarital affair
with Ms. Lewinsky. In four hours of closed door testimony, conducted in the Map
Room of the White House, Clinton spoke live via closed circuit television to a
grand jury in a nearby federal courthouse. He was the first sitting president ever to
testify before a grand jury investigating his conduct. That evening, President
Clinton also gave a four minute televised address to the nation in which he
admitted he had engaged in an inappropriate relationship with Lewinsky. In the
brief speech, which was wrought with legalisms, the word sex was never spoken,
and the word regret was used only in reference to his admission that he misled the
public and his family. Five weeks later, on February 12, the Senate voted on whether
to remove Clinton from office. The president was acquitted on both articles of
impeachment. The prosecution needed a two thirds majority to convict but failed to
achieve even a bare majority. Rejecting the first charge of perjury, 45 Democrats and
10 Republicans voted not guilty, and on the charge of obstruction of justice the
Senate was split 50 50. After the trial concluded, President Clinton said he was
profoundly sorry for the burden

16. Advantages Of Teaching English As A Foreign Language
Cihan Ећahin
What is the best way to teach English as a foreign language?
My English teachers were literally obsessed with grammar and vocabulary. The
lessons were about the things which I need to memorise rather than learning. Each
teacher came up with different rules, regulations, and directives that my friends and I
did not ever question or oppose, so it is not learning and inquiring indeed. Therefore,
I would try an inquiry based learning if I had a chance. My teachers probably forgot
that an average person only need English for speaking and listening. Because of that,
the media and the parents often accuse teachers and students with the statements like

Almost every year after the elementary school my teacher was someone else too.
They taught me the basic thing such as the numbers, alphabet, colours, days, months,

did not teach me the distinctive English sounds compared to my mother tongue,
which is unfortunate. The middle school was three years. I had English lessons in
every one of them. I had two different teachers. They started to teach me grammar
and how to fill in the blanks, not metaphorically. Although they taught me
something totally artificial, the real language has been alive for years and it will
be alive until it is extinct, which is unlikely in this case. I also had word lists that I
had to write each of them five times to my notebook with their Turkish translation.
My teachers would pronounce it like three times during the lesson. I still remember
how they used to say Repeat after me. The lesson would go on with the same rituals.
As a result, many examples of such practises did not get most of my classmates to

It is constantly recurring throughout his autobiographical statements as he recounts
how each small discovery by the scientists he encounters help find a simple

discovery of the DNA structure. For example, when Crick saw Crystallographer
V.Vand s discovery of a theory for the diffraction of x rays by helical molecules
though he thought the theory was invalid it peaked his curiosity in finding an
accurate theory. Furthermore, in Watson s interview it is seen that when it comes to
science he thinks that if there is scientific knowledge that will affect human beings ,

book was written by Arthur C. Clarke. Clarke has many degrees that allow him to

in this story. The first takes place on the moon, where the climax begins when
TMA 1 is found. The second setting is the Inter planetary ship Discovery, when it
is on its way to one of Jupiter s moons. The last setting is actually a lot mini settings
because TMA 2 becomes a star gate, which leads to a variety of wondrous places,

24. Quality Improvement In Health Care Essay
The quality department has developed this manual to introduce new employees to the
basic concepts of risk and quality management within the institution. This manual
meets the institution s initiative for continuous quality improvement within each
department and the opportunity to mitigate areas of riskwhenever possible. In order to
accomplish this goal, it is important for the new employee to be able to identify what
quality improvement and risk managementmean within the institution. The institution
believes that when employees are aware of these concepts, decision making processes
can be put in place to reduce risk and improve quality. This manual will also review
the challenges that come from risk and quality management decisions especially in
the health care setting. The new employee will be introduced to a variety of tools
available to help assess potential problems, determine whether a change is needed and
how to institute these changes through informed decision making. A clear
understanding of how to use these tools will help the institution reach their goals of
patient centered care while providing a safe environment. Risk and quality
management initiatives have the potential to save lives and save the institution
money. The institution believes that successful risk and quality management is
achieved only through employee awareness and incentives to provide a culture of
safety.
Quality Improvement within Health Care Quality may be understood differently
25. The Human Resource Development Policy Of Kenya
Definition of induction
According to the Human Resource Development policy of Kenya (2015), induction
is defined as a process of receiving and orientating/ familiarizing a new employee to
an organization s work procedures and environment (HRD, 2015). In teaching
industry, Ajowi et al., (2011) defined induction as a fundamental process of settling
newly appointed teachers into a new work environment. It is intended to effectively
introduce newly appointed teachers to the work procedures, rules and regulations, as
well as assist them to adapt quickly to teaching.
The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development in the UK defines induction
as, the process where employees adjust or acclimatize to their jobs and working
environment. As part of this, orientation is used for a specific course or training
event that new starters attend, and socialization can describe the way in which new
employees build up working relationships and find roles for themselves within their
new teams. Some people use the term onboarding to cover the whole process from an
individual s contact with the organization before they formally join, through to
understanding the business ways of working and getting up to speed in their new job.
(Chris, 2015). According to the CIDP, every organization, large or small, should have
a well considered induction programme. It should provide all the information that
new employees need, without overwhelming or diverting them from the essential
process of
26. Mental Health And Mental Disorders
LP4 Assignment: Healthy People 2020 Shelbi Murphy National American
University Mental health and mental disorders are related in that which they both
deal with the mind, they either have productive or detrimental effects on the
individual. Mental health is basically when an individual is performing and being
productive with in society. The individual has the ability to cope with specific
issues and address those issues without cause. Mental disorders are any condition
that is diagnosable through the DSM 5, and causes mood and behavioral changes.
Mental disorders can have long lasting effects on individuals and can contribute to
many long term disabilities, behavioral issues, impulse control, irrational thought
process, and ineffectively being able to be a productive part of society. Statistics
on Mental Health Disorders Mental disorders are common in the United States
and internationally. An estimated 22.1% of Americans ages 18 and older about 1
in 5 adults suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder in a given year. Approximately
18.8 million American adults, or about 9.5 percent of the U.S. population age 18
and older in a given year, have a depressive disorder. Nearly twice as many women
(12.0 percent) as men (6.6 percent) are affected by a depressive disorder each year.
These figures translate to 12.4 million women and 6.4 million men in the U.S.
(Medicine Net, October 2, 2015). Mental disorders are among the most common
causes of disability. The

No one had any good ideas besides Brock. Brock had an idea to infuse mosquito
with a radioactive chemical called SNS 11 which he made, and release the
mosquitos into the enemy bases and put them the enemies to sleep while soldiers
enter the base and find launch codes, and any other things that will give them an
advantage. But Brock decided to add a new chemical he been working on to the

28. United Airlines And Merger With Continental Airlines Essay
ABSTRACT
UAL Corp. s United Airlines announced merger with Continental Airlines Inc. on
May 3, 2010 and became the world s largest airline. This $3 billion merger between
the two airline companies lifted the beigest regulatory hurdle ever in the international
aviation sector. In this paper, I will review through the timeline that covers from the
announcement of the merger to the completion with major milestones noted and what
role the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) was playing in this merger.
TIMELINE
June 2008:CEOs of both United Airlines and Continental Airlinessigned and alliance
pact. The alliance is an agreement to link international networks and share technology
and passenger perks. This agreement is basically a virtual merger that includes many
of the benefits of a merger without the actual costs and restructuring involved. The
alliance took effect about a year after Delta Air Lines and Northwest Airlines
completed their merger, as that released Continental from the SkyTeam contract and
allowed for the required nine month notice. Additionally, Continental joined the Star
Alliance, as Delta and Northwest merged.
April 2010:United Airlines was reported to be in serious merger discussion with US
Airways.
May 2, 2010:The board of Directors at Continental and United Airlines approved a
stock swap deal that would combine them into the world s largest airline. Both
airlines have taken losses in the recession and expect the merger to generate savings
of more than $1
29. The Great Depression Of The 1920 S
Following WW I in the 1920 s, there was a decade of an economical explosion. The
post war era brought about many changes. Businesses showed great profits,
migration to big cities of industrial companies occurred with the hopes of making a
better life, people were given the opportunity to purchase things on credit, while
others borrowed money making poor decisions buying high priced stocks with the
intention of selling stocks for a profits to repay lenders. When Black Tuesday
occurred on October 29, 1929, this marked the beginning of the Great Depressionthat
left devastating economic hardships for the American people. Although it was always
my belief that the stock market crash was the sole contributor of the Great
Depression, there was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
S. and other countries that had industries charged high import taxes on good that
were offered for sale. These taxes prevented counties from selling the goods they
needed to earn the money to repay loans to the U.S. banks. In a three year period
over 9,000 banks went bankrupt or had to close their doors to avoid bankruptcy
which led to a decline in purchasing powers. When the banks started failing people
lost their saving because the banks were uninsured. The banks weren t as willing to
offer new loans.
At the same time this was occurring, there was the distribution of unequal income.
Businesses were showing great profits during the 1920 s, however the working class
only got a small portion of this wealth with their low wages. People with low incomes
purchased merchandise on credit. People thought that they had more money to spend
on materialistic possessions using credit. Advertising increased, enticing people with
the buy now, pay later slogan which in turn caused many consumers to accumulate so
much debt that were unable to keep up with payments on the items they purchased,
and they were repossessed. Once the slowing of manufactured goods occurred,
inventory accumulated and there was a backlog of purchasing merchandise which
caused even less spending that didn t help the economy.
Another problem contributing to the Depression was the epic drought that occurred
in 1930. During WWI, thousands of farmers migrated to the Great Plains area
because of its rich
30. The Illusion Of Popular Culture
The Illusion of Popular Culture
In the early 19th century a man by the name of Phineas Taylor Barnum changed
popular culture with his extraordinary talent of promoting and advertising. His first
success came with a slave woman known as Joice Heath who he claimed to be the
nurse of George Washington. If this was true it would put Joice at 161 years old,
thousands of people went to see The greatest natural and national curiosity in the
world (Perlman 4/6/16) which turned Joice from an elderly woman to a national
spectacle. I believe that the portrayal of women in 19th century popular culture has
prevented the detachment of gender roles and has actually created confusion in the
eyes of the masses. I will start by comparing the Turkish Dance, Ella Lola which is
a short film of a woman dancing made in 1898 with 1850s megastars Madame
Clofullia and Jenny Swedish Nightingale Lind, then I will compare the film to the
New Women of Barnum and Bailey as well as early 20th century women. In order
to fully understand my argument it is necessary to analyze the film by itself. The
Turkish dance, Ella Lola is a video of a young woman dancing, she is wearing two
skirts, necklaces, a flower headband, and a loose shirt. The dancing contains a lot
of swirls, and hand movements as well as pelvic thrusts in both slow and fast
tempos, she shakes her upper body making the necklaces and her shirt ricochet off
each other. This was filmed in 1898 which was during the progressive

Options What can be done to detect Carbon Monoxide (CO) if it has no smell or
color to it? Who is at risk of being exposed to CO? What happens when oxygen is not
transported to the body? What can be done to prevent CO particles from binding to
oxygen in the bloodstream? One method used for finding possible resolutions to a
problem like CO poisoning is to characterize the problem as being outwardly or
internally (Creducation.org, n.d.). By means of representing the problem, then
information that is applicable is selected. This would include the goal, primary state,
stakeholders and limitations (Creducation.org, n.d.). Once this is done, then it may be
label as a kind of problem, establish situations that are similar, recognize the standards
for assessing the resolution and adjusting and combining thoughts (Creducation.org,
n.d.). There are a number of tools that can be used when establishing options. They
include means end, trial and error that are systematic, proximity searching, knowledge
based, and fractional method (Creducation.org, n.d.). Means end assist with selecting
the suitable stakeholders and actions needed to help with changing the problem and
become closer to reaching the intended goal. By using trial and error method, then
the path chosen that doesn t work is removed. The proximity search method helps by
looking one step ahead of what is needed to become that much closer to achieving the
goal. When using the knowledge base method,
32. Representation Of Homosexuals
Homosexuality on screen has been a taboo topic since the creation of film in the late
nineteenth century and remained that way until violent protest of the 1970 s sexual
revolution. Continually, the overuse of hateful slurs against the gay community is
still used today as comedic relief. The overall delayment in representation of
homosexuals in the industry paused the long march for equal rights and resulted in
inaccurate stereotypes such as the pansy or villains. The conservative reaction
towards such liberal topics caused filmmakers to conceal queer cinema as production
codes enforced strict laws, but as time progressed so did the involvement of the LGBT
community in the filmindustry, The first glimpse of homosexualityis questionably
33. Blood Shortage And Fda Policy Limitations Essay
Blood Shortage and FDA Policy Limitations Our nation has a major blood shortage
which results in a national health crisis. States all over the nation are reporting the
need for blood donors and the importance of having donors to help those who are
directly affected. There has been a recent rise in shortage due to the increased
demand of high complex surgeries which require a large supply of blood.
McMillan reports, just one liver transplant can take 120 units of donated blood
(Zabarenko, 2016). It is imperative to bring attention to this social problem, and
begin to search for possible solutions, as well as identifying gaps in the policy
before seeking policy revision. Experts indicate that the only solution is for this
problem is to persuade people to become donors (Nagourney, 2009). The American
Red Cross and Americans Blood Center currently encompass almost all of the
nation s blood supply. Blood supply decreases more during the summer because
schools and certain businesses close and are not open to hold a blood drive. The
American Red Cross predicts that a person in a single car accident can need up to
100 pints of blood (ARC, 2016). However, during a routine blood drive a person
can only donate 1 pint of their blood supply. The American Red Cross also reports
that they need 80,000 units in one day to run successfully, but are only receiving
36,000 a day (Healy, 2016). Recently, the American Red Cross issued an Urgent:
Blood Appeal to inform the community of

chapter we will discuss how to create Web API using ASP.Net MVC and how to
consume these Web API with AngularJS. This chapter organized as follows.
Using Entity Framework o Creating a data model from existing database
Creating Web API using Visual Studio o Working with JSON Object in ASP.NET
MVC using Angular
Using Angular JS with ASP.NET MVC o Sending and Receiving JSON Object to

Using Entity Framework
ActiveX Data Objects (ADO), in .Net framework ADO.Net is a set of classes to
expose the data access services for .Net framework developer. ADO.Net contains the
set of components to create distribution and data sharing applications. Using
ADO.Net we can create front end database clients and data access layer to use by the
application. ADO.Net frequently used the application developer to access database in
relational database systems such as SQL, Oracle and so on.
ADO.Net is very powerful framework to use for accessing data. It has been in the
market since many years. ADO.Net Entity Framework is an enhancement to
traditional ADO.Net, which enable developer to develop data access application by
using a conceptual data model instead of directly connecting to the relational
database. With Entity Frameworks, the amount of code and the maintenance required
for data oriented application significantly will be

a Sirolimus eluting or bare metal stent in small coronary artery. Sirolimus stent was
associated with significant reductions in the rates of angiographic restenosis (primary
outcome), target lesion revascularization and MI at 8 months20. The composite
clinical endpoint ( death, non fatal MI, ischemia driven target lesion

small vessels than large
37. Impact Of Reconstruction During The Reconstruction
Period
Unit 1 Paper The United States changed dramatically during the reconstruction
period. After the reconstruction period, the United Stated continued to adjust well as
we see it change economically and politically. Though the adjustment continued to go
well, the change that occurs after reconstruction is emphasized with industrialization
and the impact that industrialization has in certain regions of the U.S and on the
people. Along with the new economy came with complications that affected the
improvement of conditions in work and in life. During the Gilded Age, there is a
difference between the North and South economies. When industrialization started to
consume the United States, the North quickly adapted to the change as cities begin to
develop allowing citizens to move to industrial cities in search of new opportunities
such as employment. On page 592 it states the rapid expansion of factory production,
mining, and railroad construction in all parts of the country except the South
signaled the transition from Lincoln s America to a mature industrial society
demonstrating how the South failed to adapt to the new industrial society. The South
did not really adapt to industrialization as they stuck to their agricultural ways. The
new industrial society created the interest of the American West. The American West
begins to capture the attention of many people as it becomes an area of opportunity.
On page 602, Frederick Jackson Turner argued that on the Western frontier the

The leading role in Doctor Who being changed from male to female caused a big
outburst in sexism. The role is made for a male and it being twelve out of thirteen
of the lords being male we were expecting to see a male. The role is not for a
female and all the women are catching backlash for the way the show took turns.
They switched roles to keep the show from being cancelled. Fans are feeling like
women are trying to take over and during the show. Showing signs of sexism.
Critics and all the ugly parts of the world. There s no non sexist reason to be upset
about the lead role being changed to a female bringing more conflict and
distribution to fans. We as people are very opinionated which only makes matters
worse. Having that mindset of we have freedom of speech for a reason meaning I
m going to say whatever I feel to voice my input whether it s good or bad. Positive
or negative we are going to say it. This could put maybe over half the world in the
sexist category just because we can have our opinion. We have to have some type of
negativity some type of wrong in us or around us. There are two different categories:
Feminist or Sexist. Feminism meaning Women are equal to Men no matter the
category, and sexism meaning being a particular situation, attitude and or behavior
towards one gender. i think we don t know the meaning of these words or the
differences of these two loosely used words. Then we have this controversy of calling
ourselves feminist with the definition of a
39. What Is The Purpose Of Lies My Teacher Told Me
History is almost always written by the winners. As a result, the details of pivotal
historical events are often washed as to prevent the dirty, less flattering details to
rise to the surface. It is why we need books such as Lies My Teacher Told Me. by
James W. Loewen to uncover and expose the propogandic style teachings of high
school textbooks. In his book, he has detailed his writings that are intended to elicit a
thought provoking question is our curriculum geared toward immortalizing the great
achievements of our nation while keeping the dark, checkered deeds hidden? That is
the purpose of his dogma, and this analysis we will uncover what exactly happened
that prompted Loewen to release such an argumentative book, as well as weather or
not he is right.
We will begin by analysing why Lowen wrote this book. From what has been detailed
in the introduction, Loewen states that the process of teaching American History has
been whitewashed the achievements of non whites and women have been swept
aside, merely mentioned once every so often. To quote:
...While there is nothing wrong with optimism, it can become something of a burden
for students of color, children of working class parents, girls who notice the dearth of
female historical figures, or members of any group that has not achieved socio
economic success. The optimistic approach prevents any understanding of failure
other than blaming the victim. No wonder children of color are alienated. Even for

Planning the Website
I believe I was able to include all of the components specified in the planning and
preparation stages of my website.
I created a structure diagram which is a conceptual modeling tool used to
document the different structures that make up a system, such as a database or an
application. It shows the hierarchy or structure of the different components or
modules of the system. I have added all the links of the websites I will be using.
However, due to my website plan being complex I added fewer links and made it less
complex, but it looks professional. The index of files and pages is a list showing
the folders and files I will use on my website. This made life a lot easier because I
was more organised. As well as, I could just copy the name of the file that I would
save it as. Also, this saves me time. However, it makes it more time consuming
saving it a particular way looking for the index of files and pages document.
Improvements I could have done made the titles shorter, which would have made me
save my time.
I also created an action plan. This is because then I would be aware when I should
complete a particular task. This will enable me to complete my task before my
deadline. As well as, if there are any personal circumstances and I am unable to
complete a task I can catch up or even be ahead before my estimated time when I
will complete the task. This means that I can improve my work if I made an
42. Technology And The Digital Revolution
Cultural heritage sites are spaces full of rich culture and innovation, providing
abundant opportunities for visitors to learn and explore. They are valued for their
ability to broaden knowledge, expand minds and deliver new experiences to sites of
cultural and historical value. Digital technology is being used to combat some of the
main problems that cultural heritage sites face, including inaccessibility, the lack of
connection between visitors and objects, and the safety of objects during travelling
exhibitions. No longer bound to a specific site or to physical limitations, technology
is allowing modern museums to create unique experiences and encourage visitor
participation in unprecedented ways. Increased access to the internet has the benefit
of online sources being instantly available to anyone, anywhere, giving entertainment,
higher levels of connectivity, shared knowledge, and the ability to attract younger and
more diverse audiences. Spaces of cultural heritage have always shown the changes
and developments of human history, and as the digital revolution has changed what it
means to be a human being, it is natural that such spaces are utilising digital
technology. As Sarah Kenderdine, the director of the Laboratory for Innovation in
Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums, suggests; tradition must be re discovered
and re invented by each generation, and this is being done by the creation of digital,
interactive, multi sensory experiences that have the power
