Tomorrow When The War Began Essay Topics
In our forever changing society, it is important to have teen literature as a source
where young adults can learn about and enhance their knowledge on issues related to
adolescence and the progression into adulthood. Young Adult novels such as
Tomorrow, When the War Began by John Marsden and others alike provide an
escape where young people can be introduced to and understand certain concepts,
whether they deal with growing up or just life in general. In the novel, Tomorrow,
When the War Began, first published in 1994, the teens make many choices, both
good and bad, and through this it conveys to the audience that these choices are
essential to the fundamentals of life. With the book having a mostly young audience,
this type of information is important because it shows that youth is about learning to
make good choices and how these choices are the catalyst to becoming an adult.
Examples of how teenagers are represented include: heroic, intelligent, brave, noble
and powerful, just to name a few. From this characterisation, it empowers readers to
reflect upon how they act in their daily lives and this then allows them to know that
they themselves can have any of these qualities in their lives. If readers can identify
with given themes from a novel, it allows them to relate the themes to situations that
they may be going through and in turn, it lets readers normalise the struggles that
they may be facing in their lives. In the journey of the characters in the novel,
Hr Talent Managment
Talent management is quickly becoming a top preference for companies all over the
world. (Bhatnagar 2008). The reasoning to this is due to the surge in rivalry between
businesses to capture the talent that is available, we call this the war for talent
(Beardwell and Thompson, 2014). Talent management refers to the best suited people
or individuals to the occupation in question, sometimes assigned A players . In the
past the disorganisation of talent managementhas led to the breakdown of large
multinational companies, who rectify the problem by turning over more and more
talent which inevitably makes the problem worse, causing it to fail and an overall
sense of pain is inflicted upon the companies. (Cappelli, 2008). However nowadays...

In the case of Cedar Park Furniture will look for a combination of staff from inside
and outside the business.
Firstly we can look internally, the company could resource store managers from
other locations and enrol them in the new stores. This is an effective strategy as the
company is giving the employees the opportunity to develop and move up the ladder,
it also is much more cost efficient. Externally it is probably best for the company to
hire the floor staff, although it comes as a cost default, the company can then
develop, invest and motivate these workers in their own unique way.
Principle 2:
Another key practice that Cedar Park Furniture should take on board in the regards of
adopting a strategic approach to talent management, is to adapt to the uncertainty that
staff may move on. To combat this the company should break up its recruitment
system, hire employees in bundles not in mass amounts (Beardwell and
Thompson, 2014).Therefore Cedar Park should relocate some of its staff from the
UK and disperse then among the new shops. This helps to create a broad talent
pool that can be allocated among a wide range of business systems. The production
of portfolios is another way in which the senior management deals with the
unprecedented leave of experienced staff (Beardwell and Thompson, 2014). Floor
staff will be trained in diverse roles so the store can adapt if this sort of a situation
arises.
Principle 3:

Essay on Why Britain Won the Battle of Britain
Why Britain Won the Battle of Britain
After taking France in addition to his list of captured countries on mainland Europe,
Adolf Hitler set his sights on Britain. After the success of Blitzkrieg, the evacuation
of Dunkirk and the surrender of France, Britain was by herself. However, before
Hitler could contemplate undertaking an invasion he was advised by his generals that
Germany had to destroy the Fighter Command of the Royal Air Force in order to gain
superiority in the air. This would in turn enable him to gain control of the English
Channel in order to transfer the 160,000 German troops on the 2000 invasion barges,
which had been assembled in German, French and Belgian harbors, over the ... Show

For example, under the category of technology I could say that one reason why
Britain won the battle of Britain was because they had the services of the radar
system.
Firstly, the tactics employed by both sides would play a key role in itself to deciding
the outcome of the Battle of Britain. The battle started on July 10th 1940 when the
Luftwaffe attempted to gain control of the Straits of Dover. The tactics employed
by the Luftwaffe was to tempt the RAF out for a full scale battle. However, by the
end of July, the RAF had lost 150 aircraft while the Luftwaffe had lost 268. These
figures illustrate that there was a much greater loss of aircraft experienced by
Germany than the British. These large losses of planes from the outset of a battle
would have been a significant blow to any army however, this would have damaged
German morale as a greater loss of planes was not something they would have
contemplated and as they were coming into this battle with such high expectations,
this would have been a significant blow to the Luftwaffe and a stern wake up call to
their commanders. However, Britain too was suffering, it was the loss of trained
pilots that was crippling the RAF, and the real battle had yet to begin. In August, the
Luftwaffe changed their tactics and started to attack Fighter Command s airfields,
operation rooms and radar stations the idea being that the RAF
Ron Weasley Essay
Irrevocably, Ron Weasley is a riveting and remarkably relatable member of the
Golden Trio. Unfortunately, the film adaptations of the Harry Potter books have
slandered his depth and relegated him to the position of comic relief and placeholder.
From even the first movie, Ron s character has been forced under thorough
defamation, resulting in a character wholly unlike his written counterpart, and the
dynamics of our trio was transmogrified into hero, heroine, and mascot. Having been
robbed of a truly fascinating character, a substantial slice of the fanbase either
harbours scorn or expresses unmitigated vitriol towards Ron. The discrepancies
between book Ron and movie Ron usually occur through omissions in the film, and if

The Weasleys are genuinely poor, and it influences Ron and kids who may identify
themselves within him. Ron is accustomed to having very little, and it s
conspicuous in what Ron eats, wears, buys, doesn t buy, as well as in the way he
recoils when Harry unintentionally advertises his own riches. His insecurity is
only exacerbated by Draco Malfoy s perpetual bashing; the verbal abuse flung at
Ron predominantly surround his lack of academic intelligence, talent, and money.
Outside of material wealth, Book Ron considers himself inferior to his
accomplished brothers and his best friends respective fame and academic
intelligence. Less is expected of him, and he oftentimes others apathy towards what
he recognizes as his own achievements negatively affects him. Movie Ron is
portrayed as simply envious of Harry. In the movies, the Horcrux gets to him
through his love for Hermione. In the books, the Horcrux penetrates his emotional
shields through the nagging suspicion that he isn t, never has been, and never will
be good enough for anyone and anything. The scene following the locket s
destruction is omitted, preventing viewers from witnessing Harry s realization of
Ron s debilitating insecurity and Ron s understanding of Harry s reluctance to be
the Chosen One. The film series fails to see value in Ron just as Ron fails to see

Central Executive Functioning
Central Executive Functioning
Working memory is the immediate memory for the finite amount of material an
individual is processing at the moment. This memory capacity allows an individual to
keep information attainable and active in order to use them in various cognitive
tasks. Working memory is similar to the outdated term known as short term memory.
According to the working memory approach proposed by Baddeley (1996), this
immediate memory is a multipart system consisting of four components known as the
phonological loop, visuospatial sketchpad, central executive, and the episodic buffer.
The component in question is the central executive, which is responsible for
integration of the other components. Is the central executive an essential part of
working memory or is it simply a glorified homunculus?
The central executive component of working memory integrates information from the
phonological loop, visuospatial sketchpad, the episodic buffer, and long term
memory. The central executive is responsible for regulation of task that includes
auditory, visual, and spatial activation in the brain region known as the frontal cortex.
Research was performed at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center, to access
whether the central executive truly is activated during verbal and spatial working
memory tasks. A functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) was used to
examine specific brain activation throughout these tasks. Results show that activation

Limitations Of Body Weight Exercise
Bodyweight training has been a popular form of exercise for decades, especially
when it comes to group exercise classes and workout videos. It can certainly be an
effective form of exercise, but bodyweight training programs are often designed
without really considering the many different types of people who perform the
workouts. Bodyweight exercises are typically assumed to be appropriate for
everyone, but that is not exactly true.
Since bodyweight exercises do not use external resistance (weights, bands, etc.),
people usually do not think about them having a numerical difficulty or weight
value. As a result, bodyweight exercises are thought of as essentially being one size
fits all with a person s weight being the correct amount for the exercise. There is a
major flaw with this way of thinking, because bodyweight exercises do have weight
just like any other form of resistance training. The difference is that instead of
holding or supporting an external weight, the resistance of each exercise is
determined by a percentage of your bodyweight.
Therefore, each exercise does have a numerical resistance/weight value, even though
you will not know the exact amount when performing the exercise. The important
thing to realize is every bodyweight exercise puts a specific amount of stress on
your muscles and as with every other type of exercise, the difficulty of bodyweight
exercises should appropriately match your ability level and your goals. If the
difficulty of the exercise is not
How Did William The Conqueror Affect The Country
The story begins 1066 when William I invaded Pevensey, England along its
southeastern border. The battle of Hastings, England began. When William invaded
Hastings, England he was faced with defeating the current king of England and
quickly prevailed. This defeat was the turning point for Britain s future. After William
The Conqueror took over this city he and his troops moved inward to take the rest of
the country, the people of Englandsoon started to feel the changes. William was
crowned king in December of 1066. He reigned for many many years to come and
made a huge impact on the country. William The Conqueror made such an amazing
impact on England and the world is still seeing those changes today. After William
took hold of England he
Barack Obama s Current Tax Code
With the presidential elections coming up, different tax policies are being debated
between the candidates. Whether it is proposed by a Democratic or a Republican
presidential candidate, there have been many possible solutions presented on how to
reform the current tax code. Focusing specifically on four candidates, two from the
Democratic Party, and two from the Republican Party, I will compare and contrast
their respective taxproposals. While the Democratic candidates generally agree with
President Obama s current tax code, all four candidates are looking to reform it in
some way in order to, in their own eyes, better the current tax code affecting today s
citizens.
For the Democratic party, I will be taking a look into the proposed tax policies of
Hillary Clinton as well as Bernie Sanders . On the other hand, for the Republican
Party, I will examine the tax policies of Donald Trump along with Marco Rubio s.
Before I begin comparing each of the four candidates, I will present some of the
policies in the current tax code. This will help analyze the changes the candidates
want to make when I immediately after list their tax policies and the specific changes
they wish to bring about in order to improve the current tax code.
Current tax code:
The current tax code is aimed towards making it more fair for working families. The
policy includes the American Opportunity Tax Credit, which gives up to $10,000
worth of tax credits to college students. For businesses that make less

The Sheraton name is a long standing brand under Starwood hotels and is currently
the second oldest after the Westin. The headquarters for Sheraton hotels is located
in White Plains, New York, but was founded in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1937.
Ernest Henderson and Robert Moore adapted to the name Sheraton Hotel after
acquiring an earlier hotel with that same name. According to them, their was a large
lit sign on the roof that bore this name, but it was too heavy to move and too
expensive to change and so from there on they decided to call all future hotels,
Sheraton. By 1939, three hotels had been established by Henderson and Moore and
more wore opening up on the east coast at a rapid past. In 1945, the Sheraton hotel

company s structure observed and experienced, I have noticed many factors inherent
to Chinese business, much different than those in the United States. Noticeably, there
is clearly a hierarchy in order. Everyone reports to their own manager and that
manager reports to their manager and so on until they reach the general manager. For
example, there was this one incident where one guest wanted his old room rate, but
was soon informed that he had to make prior arrangements in order to receive it
again. Unfortunately, since he did not make prior arrangements this time the guest
became very angry and started yelling at the front desk staff.
Manifesto Of The Communist Party
The Communist Manifesto, originally drafted as, Manifesto of the Communist Party
, is a pamphlet written by Karl Marx, that in essence reflects an attempt to explain the
goals and objectives of Communism, while also explaining the concrete theories
about the nature of society in relation to the political ideology. The Communist
Manifesto breaks down the relationship of socio economic classes and specifically
identifies the friction between those classes. Karl Marxessentially presents a well
analyzed understanding of class struggles and the issues concerning capitalism, the
means and modes of production and how those means affect the classes as a whole.
Every society is structured or designed with the intention to form social classes;
classes that will determine the social mobility of each individual living within it.
Within the social hierarchy, there is inevitably one class that essentially oppresses the
others. The Communist Manifesto features The Bourgeoisie and The Proletarians,
and explains that the relationship between the two classes is a common frictional
relationship that has occurred countless times throughout history. It explains that the
modern Bourgeoisie will eventually fall, due to their inability to maintain a lifestyle
for the proletarians; which is ultimately caused by the instability of capitalism.
The goals of Communism are clearly set forward in the process. Marx informs us that
Communism is established to achieve 3 major things: to solidly form
The Signs Of The Gospel Of John Essay
Introduction
Amidst the disciples that had already seen the resurrected Christ, Thomas declares
that he will not believe unless he personally sees and feels Jesus for himself. To
which, on His appearance, Jesus said to him, Because you have seen Me, have you
believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed. Although the gospel of
John is clear that Jesus preformed many signs that are not recorded, he states that
the ones he records are for the purpose that those who have not seen may believe
and have life in His name. Therefore, the eight signs John chooses are very
important. These signs take Jesus out of the realm of the pious rabbi and challenge
the reader to see the hand of God, indeed, God Himself, actively working in Jesus. It
is the presence of God in the signs that Jesus preforms that show His deity.
Water is now wine (John 2:1 12)
John begins with, quite possibly, the most important sign. Just as John begins his
gospel placing Jesus squarely at the creation, so here He begins the signs with an act
of creation; turning water into wine at the marriage in Cana. Jesus mother was in
attendance. Her motive in informing Jesus that there was a lack of wine is unknown,
as well as what she expected temporally or miraculously. We can know from Jesus
response that it may have been a miracle that she intended. He uses the phrase My
hour, referring either to the appointed time, so that people might believe, or to the
ultimate new beginning, the cross.
Chaarismatic Writing Style Of The New Boy Network By...
Analysis of The New Boy Network The New Boy Network is an example of author
Malcolm Gladwell s charismatic writing style which makes seemingly drab subjects
vividly interesting to a wide variety of readers. In this essay, he explores the
complex nature of job interviews and how first impressions impact relationships.
Gladwell argues that first impressions make an immediate impact on people, even if
they do not represent the entire person to inform his audience to avoid relying solely
on first impressions. He convinces the reader of this using personal anecdotes which
relate the subject to readers and structures the writing, expert opinions which lend
credibility to his argument, and utilizing an informal tone which engages the reader.
Gladwell weaves an anecdoteabout a Harvard computer science student named
Nolan Myers throughout the essay which help the reader relate to diverse topics
and creates structure throughout the essay. Gladwell describes Myers as being
handsome, charismatic, and easy going, however he cannot explain exactly why
he is so gripped with him (5). This description of both his physical appearance and
his personality relates the reader to Gladwell, and in turn, shapes the reader s
impression of Myers. The reader s first impression of Myers is critical to Gladwell
s argument because it makes the reader reflect on the fact that although he or she
has never met Nolan Myers, the reader already likes him. This vividly illustrates
the point that first impressions are impactful in relationships. These details also
allow Gladwell to transition into discussing other people s opinions of Myers. This
creates a smooth, easy to follow transition for the reader while hooking him or her
with a personal story as opposed to a more academic tone. Another way that
Gladwell utilizes the anecdote about Nolan Myers is to show how a first impression
then impacts the meaning of everything else that that person says. One example of
this is during Gladwell s interviewwith Myers. He says that he is not afraid of failure
because he is confident that with time, he can learn many things. Gladwell then
reflects that because he like Myers, the answer was confident. However, had he not
liked Myers already, the

My Paper On Lee Harvey Oswald
Based on my research, I would like to dedicate my paper to Lee Harvey Oswald.
Oswald was born on October 18, 1938, in New Orleans, Louisiana. His dad died of a
heart attack and later sent to an orphanage to live with his two older brothers. He
was a United States Marine, who later in his life killed John F. Kennedy. He was
murdered by Jack Ruby while he was in police custody and being taken to County
Jail. Lee Harvey Oswald had also tried to kill right wing ex general Edwin A.
Walker but he missed. He then moved to New Orleans for a couple of months, then
moved back to the states. Before the killing had happened, he got a job at the Texas
school as a Book Depository in Dallas. Where he attended the shooting of President
Kennedy. He was mostly known because of the killing of John F. Kennedy. No one
could find out why Lee H. Oswald assassinated John F. Kennedy. Based on some
interview his families and friends went through, they all said that Lee praised
President John F. Kennedy. Michael Paine, one of Lee s friends, who took Lee to
a meeting of the American Civil Liberties Union, says Oswald thought President
Kennedy was doing quite a good job in civil rights, which was high praise coming
from Lee. A Warren Commissioners, Senator Richard Russell say he was a general
misanthropic fellow ... he had a desire to get his name in history and all. As I surf
through the web, I realize there was no evidence that said that Lee wanted such thing.
He even denied that he was part
Chiquita Banana Case Study
From the case, we saw that the executives of Chiquita Banana in Columbia chose to
pay the AUC for protection from the FARC. The US government put AUC on its list
of terrorist organization on September 2001. Chiquita brand international is a pioneer
in the globalization of the banana industry, where bananas are not only a serious
business, but it is a representation of economic, social, political, and legal difficulties.
From the perspective of Chiquita s Columbian subsidiary, Banadex S.A., they first
began funding AUC in 1997 after receiving threats directed at its property and its
employees. Chiquita was sending moneyto the AUC roughly every month in order
to save their employees and property. Being in charge of the business, it was the
responsibility of the company to put their employees safety first, and thus I feel
they were in the right when they started making the payments at first. This was not
a safe time because during the period of mid 1960s, Columbian civil war and
armed conflict were very prevalent in those areas. There was the emergence of
powerful drug cartels, which also increased the intensity of the conflict. Moreover,
there was the presence of FARC, which is a revolutionary guerrilla organization and
were involved in illicit and violent activities like extortions, bombings, kidnapping, as
well as attacks on political and military goals. AUC promised Chiquita Bananathe
protection from the political and war world around them. It made sense at that time

Personality inventories and patient interviews have in fact indicated that people
who abuse or depend on drugs tend to be more dependent, antisocial, impulsive,
novelty seeking, and depressive than other people (Coffey et al., 2003; Cox et al.,
2001; Finn et al., 2000). These findings are correlational, however, and do not
clarify whether such personality traits lead to drug use or whether drug use causes
people to be dependent, impulsive, and the like. In an effort to determine
causation, one study measured the personality traits of a large group of
nonalcoholic young men and then kept track of each man s development (Jones,
1971, 1968). Years later, the traits of the men who developed alcohol problems in
middle age were compared with the traits of those who did not. The men who
developed alcohol problems had been more impulsive as teenagers and continued to
be so in middle age, a finding suggesting that impulsive men are indeed more prone
to develop alcohol problems. Similarly, in one laboratory investigation, impulsive
rats those that generally had trouble delaying their rewards were found to drink more
alcohol when offered it than other rats (Poulos et al., 1995). A major weakness of
this line of argument is the wide range of personality traits that have been tied to
substance abuse

One of the famous instances is overfishing of holothurians that occurred in the 1980s.
Holothurian is a precious marine creature which is also known as sea cucumber or
bГЄche de mer. It began with Macassan fishers, who fished holothurian before
twentieth century, leaving centuries old tradition of trepang fishing in the Great

Dugong, which is commonly called sea cow, is claimed to be the only marine
herbivorous mammal on Earth. These days, most of the world s population of
dugongs are in the waters around Queensland, resulting in one of the reasons for
nominating the Great Barrier Reef as a World Heritage Area in 1981 (Lawler,
Marsh, McDonald, and Stokes 2). On The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species
published in 2015, dugong was classified to be vulnerable because the numbers of
dugongs around the world had declined by at least 20% over the last 90 years
(Marsh and Sobtzick), which was approximately three dugong generations. The
dugongs fishing in Australia started in 1850s, when people hunted dugongs for their
meat and oil and then exported to Europe for medical purposes. Over the years,
people kept searching for dugongs to attain ample amount of profits from dugong
trading, so unsustainable hunting became a leading reason which was responsible
for dugong s decline in sea area around Queensland. As the report from World
Conservation Union indicates, the [Great Coral Reef] region supported an estimated
4,220 dugongs in the mid 1990s compared with 72,000 dugongs in the early 1960s
(Marsh and Sobtzick). Even though international law had banned the trade in dugong
meat and other related products, dugong hunting remained legal in some Australian
regions, since aboriginal people regard dugongs as vital parts of their
Chest To Glove Theory
Pitching mechanics are one of the most controversial and complex things in all of
sports. In the roughly 1.5 seconds that it takes for the pitcher to deliver a pitch, the
pitcher uses almost every muscle in his body in a variety of ways. That is what
makes it so difficult and also why it is so important that it is done correctly. There
are many different ways of throwing a ball sixty feet six inches. Two of the main
ones are chest to glove, and gloveside disconnect. The chest to glove theory is exactly
what it sounds like, the pitchertries to bring his chest to his glove in hopes of getting
a further release point. Gloveside disconnect is a little bit more tricky. With this
method the pitcher either points his glove towards the catcheror... Show more content

One of these negatives is that pitchers can lose lots of trunk rotation by trying to
bring chest to glove. A quote that supports this is by focusing too much on getting
your glove out and bringing your chest forward you often tend to block yourself off
(The Importance of Good Glove Arm Action). Blocking off means that the pitcher is
not fully able to get over their front foot and is unable to follow through correctly .
This causes them to lose trunk rotation which is a very important part of high
velocity pitching mechanics (How to efficiently change pitching mechanics). While
this seems to contradict that the chest to glove method gives more angular trunk
velocity, the two are actually different. The difference is that angular trunk velocity
is the speed at which the trunk is moving while trunk rotation is the amount of
movement, not necessarily how fast it is going. Another negative is that chest to
glove can lead to no follow through. The less trunk rotation there is, the less a
pitcher is going to be able to follow through, which is vital to deceleration. Proper
deceleration is also extremely important to injury prevention. No follow through will
often lead to throwing pitches high, which is not good. Not following through leads
to a further back release point. The further back their release point the more likely it
becomes that the ball will fly out early. These are the negatives of the chest to glove
Atlas Shrugged Economy
Atlas Shrugged Essay In this essay I will be explaining how this economic situation in
the movie Atlas Shrugged could happen in the near future and how this economic
situation could not happen in our future. The argument I am for is how this economic
situation that took place in Atlas Shrugged could happen in the near future. I believe it
could happen but not to the extent that happened in the movie. The reasons I
believe that it could happen are because free trade could become a thing that stops
because of too many trade restrictions and we will only have to use the goods and
services that the United States has to offer. Another reason that I believe this could
happen is because I think the demand for goods and services with exceed the supply
that the market can offer and prices will rise because products are hard to come
across and make. Another way this could happen is because of communismthe
government will demand that people only produce things that will help the

They could argue that the monetary policy is concerned with the management of
interest rates and the total supply of money in circulation and it will only improve
and the federal reserve will be able to put a stop to it before it happens. Another
thing people will say is that capitalism would stop it because people will produce
goods and services that will help them out so everything will be supplied that they
need to stop a economic failure. They could also argue and say that Oligopolies
would collaborate and make sure they make things needed to stop the economic
situation. The last reason people could say it would not happen is due to perfect
competition, every firm does not have any market power. As a result, the industry
would produce the optimal level of output because none of the firms have the ability
to influence market
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Part Timers
Part Timers According to Singapore Employment (Part Time Employees)
Regulations (2009), part timers are defined as employees who work for less than
35 hours a week. Advantages Using part timers can help to keep labour costs
down, especially benefit cost. For instance, part timers are not entitled to flexible
benefits such as dental and holiday subsidy, etc. Breaks and vacations for a part
timer can be covered by another by staggering their job hours so that there are no
job disruptions. Thirdly, the company may be able to attract a pool of staffs that
have a wealth of knowledge from prior working experiences. For example, retirees
who have relevant experience in the industry are able to serve as effective mentors to
younger staff. Disadvantages... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These extra trainings incur both time and monetary costs as a more experienced
full time worker may need to allocate time to serve as a mentor to the part timers.
They may not possess the same level of security as full time workers as they can
leave any time since they are often not bound by contract and are paid by the hour.
There is a greater inclination for part timers to leave when they are offered a full
time job or a job that pays a high salary. Since part timers are not entitled to the
same amount of compensation and benefits as compared to full timers, it s not
surprising that they have less loyalty towards their job. Casual Labour Casual
employees are probably the most flexible of the three groups. Their working hours
may be arranged in a non regular pattern and usually paid by the hour. Many
organisations keep a file of casual employees they can contact when required.

according to the described sub issues listed by specific letters as follows: (Sub

without parental input? No. Under the IDEA students are entitled to a free and
appropriate public education which conforms to the student s individual education
program. Under the IDEA and federal precedent, one of the factors used in
determining whether a school district substantively and procedurally provided a
FAPE to a student is whether the services provided to the student conformed to his

the services must be designed to meet the student s unique needs; (2) the services
must be reasonably designed to provide some educational benefit; (3) the services
must conform to the IEP as written; and, (4) the program offered must be designed to
provide the student with the foregoing in the least restrictive environment. While this
requires a school district to provide a disabled child with meaningful access to
education, it does not mean that the school district is required to guarantee
Creating A Shared Bedroom For Kids
When boys and girls in a family exceed the number of available bedrooms, it
becomes necessary to look for creative ways to divide a shared space. This is
especially challenging with a boy and girl must share the same bedroom, but it can
be done with a few clever decorating tips and tricks. Consider the following creative
ways to divide a shared bedroom for kids, and give the kids sharing a room their very
own area to sleep, play, and dress in their own private space. Begin with Paint When
searching for creative ways to divide and decorate a shared bedroom for kids, begin
by making a dramatic statement with color. To define and divide the shared space,
apply two colors to divide the bedroom in half. For example, if a girl and a boy
must share a bedroom, paint half of the room a cool shade of blue. Paint the other
half of the shared bedroom a soft shade of lilac. This works well if the colors share
the same intensity. Use a measuring tape and a level to determine each half of the
shared bedroom, and divide it with painter s tape for a neat and clean edge. The
shared room will have a unique and impressive look that will give each child a
space to call their own. Visually Divide a Shared Room with Window Treatments
When a window is in the center of a shared wall painted two different colors,
maintain the look by using two different colors of the same style of window
treatments. Buy two sets of the same curtains and valances in colors that will
coordinate well with the two
William Mckinley And The Civil War
Born in 1843, William McKinley was raised in Ohio under a family that had strong
ties to the Whig Party. The first notable events that occurred during his life were
during the Civil War. During the Civil War, McKinley began writing papers. He was
able to have one of his papers published that stressed how important the Union s
cause was. This letter was published. Later he met his lifelong friend, Major
Rutherford Hayes, who would motivate and influence him throughout his life. After
the war McKinley served in an attorney s office in Ohio. The year after this, he
applied to and was accepted to Albany Law School. After a year of studies he
moved to Canton where established a small office and met his new partner, George
W. Belden, a prominent lawyer and former judge. It was here that William McKinley
began giving political speeches. He spoke on the behalf of Hayes, thus showing his
first true step in the world of politics. Soon after, he became a prosecuting attorney
in Stark County, Ohio. This was an outstanding accomplishment because the
prosecuting attorney was almost always a Democrat. Finally, McKinley decided to
campaign for his spot in Congress. All of the previously stated events were used to
prepare McKinley for his tenure into the House of Representatives in 1877. In
October of 1877 William McKinley took his spot in the House of Representatives.
Unfortunately for him, the Democrats were in power of the House of Representatives
when he entered the House. This

Catapult Project Essay
This catapult project exemplifies and strengthened my current knowledge of
parabolas that we have learned during class. Using our skills, my group Katrina,
Brandon, Michelle, and I created an interesting catapult which would thrust a ping
pong ball across creating an upside down U shape, also known as a parabola.
During our time as a group, we learned to create our own equation, create a graph
and table, but also learn from our mistakes by trying to make the ping pong s journey
consistent. Not only this, but we worked together as a team to get this task done.
Before even beginning to measure the ping pong ball s journey , we had to create
our own catapult. Using materials provided by Ms. Csigi, such as popsicle sticks, hot
glue, rubber bands, and a spoon, we created the our own, unique catapult. First off,
we created a square with four popsicle overlapping each other. Then we created
another square and connected the two by the edge, with one side upwards. Then we
got a spoon and glued it on another popsicle stick. Because the spoon needed to be at
an angle, we hot glued the bottom facing the bottom of the square. We connected
rubber bands to the spoon so that once we pull the spoon to ground zero, the ... Show

because the ping pong ball has to come down at a certain point. With this in mind,
our group had to start at ground zero since we can t start at a negative point. Or
graph wouldn t make sense because the ping pong ball cannot go down into the
ground. Moving on, we actually found our standard form equation (using the
calculator) before our vertex form so we actually used this to our advantage. Instead
of doing all the unneeded work, we plugged in our vertex into the formula a(x
h)^2+k. So this way, our vertex form equation would come out to be

really long time. They live in a place called Nunavut. They are brave to live there.
They are not able to make wooden homes, because of their climate region, so they

make igloos. They live in tent like huts made of animal skins. Inuit communities are
found in the: Northwest Territories, Labrador, and Quebec.
They do not have cars. They use dog sleds to get around. Dog sleds are when they
have a sled, with all of their things they need to transport, and have dogs pull it.
They use very strong dogs, which are huskies. They cannot use dog sleds to go

The Pros And Cons Of Animal Abuse
According to the Humane Society of the United States, there was a South Carolina
puppy mill that consisted of hundreds of puppies that were living in harmful
conditions with no food or water, many of them were closed up in a small cages,
and some had illnesses. Their fur was matted and the animals were sick because
they were not taken care of properly (Animal Abuse). Once all the animals were
rescued, they were relocated into animal shelters in hopes of regaining their
strength and getting adopted. Animal abuse is illegal in all fifty states because of
events like this that mistreat animals. They have rights just like humans do.
Animal shelters will help any animals they can if the animal is not already on the
brink of death. Once an animal first enters the shelter, they will be taken to have a
bath if needed. An animal that is not a stray will be sent to get neutered and get
any shots that they need. If an animal comes into the shelter as a stray, there will be
a 72 hour hold period, in hopes that the owner will arrive (Griffin). Animal shelters
such as Brother Wolf of Asheville will not only help animals who come into theirs
shelters, they will also help animals in natural disasters. In January of 2016, Brother
Wolf was called to Augusta to assist in rescuing dogs off of Deans Bridge Road in
Richmond County. Approximately twenty five dogs were rescued, obtained medical
treatment, and relocated into shelters and rescues. There are a few different types of

Sophocles’ Oedipus Cycle – Antigone, as a Feminist
Essay
Sophocles Oedipus Cycle Antigone, as a Feminist
Throughout history, women have always stood in the shadows of men. In many
cultures, the role of women has always been to be seen and not heard. As one of the
first feminists in world literature, the character Antigone, of Sophocles Oedipus Cycle
, displays fine characteristics of a great female leader in order to stand up against
male dominance for her religious, political, and personal beliefs. When the king
denies her brother, Polynices, proper burial, Antigone goes against state law by
burying him herself in order to protect heavenly decree and maintain justice. In doing
this, she steps out of her place as a woman in a male dominated society.

A sort of role reversal takes place between her and her father. She takes the position
of the father and head of the family while her blind, helpless father acts as the child
dependent upon Antigone for survival. She is in charge of making the decisions,
caring for him, and being his shoulder as well as his eyes. In leading him and caring
for him, she develops herself into a much stronger woman than the women of her
society, becoming strong both mentally and physically. It is during this time in her
life that Sophocles develops Antigone s most important trait, her strong will.
Years later, after Oedipusdeath, Antigone uses the characteristics and qualities that
have developed inside of her through the years towards fighting for that which she
believes. When the king denies her brother a proper burial and makes it illegal for
anyone to bury him in Sophocles Antigone, Antigone decides it is up to her to take
justice into her own hands and give him a proper burial. As a feminist she stands up
to male dominance in order to make her views heard.
Antigone forces her political and religious views on the male dictator and his
domain when she places heavenly decree above state law by burying her brother,
Polynices. In ancient Greece, it was believed that if a body were not buried, the
spirit would roam the earth and never reach heaven. By not burying Polynices body,
King Creon took the power of the gods away by deciding that Polynices did not

Gender And Sexual Issues Among Men And Women
There are certain assumptions made by society that are likely to make a women
accused of witch craft such as social status, age, and marital status. It is clear that the
gender and sexual issues among men and women are a contribution towards those
who were punished for witch craft. Women who were blamed for witchcrafthad very
little sway to change the minds of others once that seed was planted. Even though a
womanmay be poor or even unmarried these were characteristics that made a
woman more likely to be an easy target to blame mishaps on. A woman s social
status stemmed from popular misogyny and the ideals that men expected from
them. For example during the fifteenth century Dominican reform movement they
promoted celibacy in woman. A woman s sexuality was thought of in the same
way as Virgin Mary so they equated sin and death and if a women did not fit into
this religious picture she was most likely to be accused of witch craft. As stated by
Sigrid The Malleus claims that women rather than men become witches because
they are weaker, less intelligent, and so lascivious that they fall easy prey to
temptation (Fearless Wives, pg. 14). This idea stemming from the fifteenth century
reform is a representation of how men thought of woman. Men believed that
women were more likely to succumb to witchy powers because they are easily
tempted or not as smart. Most alleged witches were spinsters who were poor rural
spinners working for low wage. However the job itself caused
Shankman s View Of War
Shankman discusses the view of the war, and the sinking of the Maine, from the
perspective of the Methodist church. Throughout the church there was varying
opinions of the explosion and the war itself. Some people believed that the war
would be necessary, while others believed there was no need for a war. IN an
editorial from a New York Methodist newspaper in April 1898: Should we now go to
war, insisted the Syracuse Northern Christian Advocate, our cause will be just, and
Methodismwill be ready to do its full duty. Every Methodist preacher will be a
recruiting officer (Shankman, 1973). However, in the south, the Southern Christian
Advocate pushed for people to help send aid to the Cubans that are refugees and on
the island; some groups even set up soup kitchens and churches donated some money
as charity. These opinions helped spread the divide after the attack on the Maine:
Generally, the Methodist press advised that rash accusations were unjust and foolish.
The Nashville Christian Advocate suspected that the explosion had been the work of a
misguided Spaniard or resulted from a fire on the Maine, and it thought that all
premature judgments on the cause of the sinking did more harm than good.
(Shankman, 1973)
That view did not last long, by April 14 it was believed that the sinking of the USS
Maine was not a mere accident, The Atlanta Wesleyan Christian Advocate first
believed that Spanish perfidy had caused the catastrophe but later decided some

The Death Of North Korea Essay
Kim Jong Un, the name itself brings fear, terror, and despair in the hearts of
millions. This so called leader, terrorized the people of North Korea since April 11th,
2012; his cruelty is subject to the fact he has no mercy towards anyone who speaks
against him, no matter if they are a civilian or political figure. The supreme leader is
perceived as a devil, as he has total control over the country, using his power to
manipulate the North Korean media. People are unaware that there is a genocide that
is happening at this very moment. Although, many people may not believe this
argument, a genocide is defined as an act committed with the intent to destroy, and
unfortunately that is exactly what Kim Jong Un is doing. He is eliminating all the
bureaucratic parties that oppose him (1). In this country, there are internment camps
that are still functioning with the sole purpose of forced labour and extermination.
Similar to the captives in the Holocaust, prisoners endure lifetime isolation, inhumane
conditions, and humiliation. Therefore, the North Korean internment camp, Kaechon
is proven to be just as horrid as Dachau.
The North Korean government claims the internment camps are not real, but clearly
there are videos and photos that prove their existence, there is no denying what the
truth really is. One particular camp called Kaechon internment camp, commonly
known as Camp fourteen was established by Kim Jong Un s grandfather, Kim Il sung.

Mesopotamian And Hellenistic Art
In History, artistic achievements have represented cultural advancements in civilized
society. The artist s ability to express themselves on a surface plane has progressed
immensely from the prehistoric era through the present. At one time, techniques were
so primitive, simple handheld figures and tools were all artisans had the ability to
craft. However, Mesopotamian and Greek and Hellenistic Art specifically,
modernized the techniques and boundaries of sculpture and figurative art. As time
goes on, an artist s ability to express themselves within their art has progressed.

so detailed many art historians interpret their meanings similarly. Historically... Show

Besides the past as a claim for complex art impling cultural prominence in societies,
the present is a great representation of a society s cultural qualities. The United
States population s ability to express themselves has grown the most in recent
decades. Specifically in art, one can express themselves however they want, no:
restrictions, limitations, or necessary guidelines. This capability to express one s
self is comparable to our cultures recent stressed activism for the freedom to act
without criticism. Artist s role now, is to be as personal, unique, and creative as
possible. Our society is going through a change of cultural acceptance for those who
feel oppressed. Art is currently about being creative and expressing emotions or
ideas through a surface plane medium. However, it always was not this way. Artists
and their art world, from century to century, responds to their societies attributes.
Because of this, past cultures prominence can be interpreted and represented through
their art. Recalling the oldest known art periods, first, the Prehistoric Art era, we can
see societies from b.c. through 2500 b.c., that their cultures were advanced. From
personal representations of nature and deities, these people s small ability to create
different types of art shows how they were more skilled craftsman, instead of artists.
Cave Paintings and other art forms represent their hunting and living styles. For
example, the Women from Willendorf, can show how they expressed themselves
through art but, art was not considered to be a profession in the Prehistoric Art era
Destiny In The Aeneid
Many may tell themselves, I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul ,
William Ernest Henley s, Invictus. Individuals often believe life is independent of
outside forces; one does not often ponder whether situations that introduce decisions
or experiences are controlled by fate and the gods. In Virgil s The Aeneid, he
introduces the notion that we are all subject to the workings of fate regardless of our
will or desire; this is shown through the tragic romance between Aeneas, a Trojan, and
Dido, the queen of Carthage. Their love and lives are a combination of free will, fate,
and the work of the gods. We are all brought into the world without choice, thus lack

your fate! (Virgil, p.136) Aeneas desires the love of Dido, but recognizes his
obligation to found Rome. This is where a complication arises regarding fate.
Aeneas strayed from his destiny, moving alongside his desires rather than uniting
his aspirations with his obligations, thus creating conflict within his life and
difficulties weighing the importance of his obligations and desires. The pressures
of fate and the gods were not in Aeneas control; however, it was his own decision to
fall in love with Dido and ignore his mission, even if momentarily. As humans we are
obligated to one another regardless of desire.
Later, Aeneas decides to return to the path molded for him: in spite of all he obeys
the gods commands and back he goes to his ships. (Virgil, p. 141) Aeneas ignores
his passion for Dido and continues on his path of obligation to Troy. It was not the
decision of the gods, nor the doing of fate; Aeneas decisions are his own. However,
if Aeneas would have strayed towards his desires, he would have continuously ended
up within the line of his destiny because regardless of our wants we ultimately walk
within the parameters Fate allows. Virgil
Gender Roles A Self Fulling Prophecy Essay
This cycle can negatively impact the author s life and the reader s life, whether they
know it or not, because as they read or write harmfully gendered relationships, they
subconsciously affirm the truths portrayed in the fiction and spread these beliefs to
other readers. In other words, damaging genderroles appear right and natural, because
they are so often depicted in the media as right and natural, with relationships healthy
based on equality being rarely offered as the alternative. This makes heteronomrative
gender roles a self fulling prophecy with people performing these stereotypes, because
they are presented as the norm. If feminized male characters serve as the stand in for
the female reader, then fanfictions that depicts the feminine as mentally and
physically less able than the masculine must contribute to this vicious cycle as well.
In addition, the masculine gender roleoften exemplifies the type of behavior
considered natural for men. In American culture, part of this natural masculine gender
role assumes that men will be complicit ,if not actively participating, in patriarchal
culture and the poisonous values often associated with it. The traditional masculine
model is made to seem so right that men portraying this gender role, and the women
reading about this gender role, are made to believe that the domination and
exploitation of women, and even other men, is not just expected, but demanded

Five Elements Of Negligence
Whether Ben will be held liable of negligent per se for violating Texas s
Environmental Protection Laws provision regarding self closing capped gas
containers.
Rule of Law:
Negligence is the defendant s conduct (the exercise of an act or the failure to act),
failing to exercise the degree of care that a reasonable and prudent person in his
position would exercise; and act in a way that breaches the duty to prevent the
foreseeable risk of harm to anyone in the plaintiff s position, and the defendant s
breach must be the cause of the plaintiff s injuries. The five elements of negligence
are: 1) Duty: Did the defendant owe plaintiff a legal obligation to exercise some
level of care? 2) Breach: Did defendant s conduct fail to meet the obligation owed to
the plaintiff? Regarding the foreseeable risks created by the defendant s conduct, was
the act unreasonable under the circumstances? 3) Factual Causation (Cause in Fact):

The court would apply negligence per se when the plaintiff proves whether the statute
satisfies class of persons, by showing that the plaintiff belongs to the class persons the
statute was designed to protect, and class of harms, by showing that the plaintiff s
injuries is the type the statute was designed to prevent. According to the fact pattern,
the Texas s Environmental Protection Law provision in question, was intended to
protect the environment, like the atmosphere and ground water sources; not the
plaintiff. As for the class of harms, the statute was meant to prevent vapors that cause

protect against spillage that can also contaminate ground water; not the burns
suffered by the plaintiff. According to the test, the statute would not be

Personal Lessons Learned
From an early age I was taught the importance of personal integrity and the
importance of being adaptable and prepared for any stressful situation that life
may throw at you. During my time as a boy scout I was constantly taught to be
prepared and to also to always be at the service of others. At the end of our camping
trips we would be told repeatedly to leave this place, better than when you found it
and this lesson has translated into my own life. I want to make the worlda better
(safer) place than when I found it. As I grew up, these lessons continued to play a
key role in the decisions I made and have made me into the man that I ve become
today.
While in middle school and into high school I had the opportunity to be exposed to
many cultures that were different than my own. I volunteered weekly through my
church in a predominately Hispanic community that was located in the Port of
Houston. The neighborhood was extremely impoverished and many of the students
were involved in gangs, or had one or more parents that were incarcerated. The more
I worked with these young men and women, the more I learned about myself and
that the lesson I learned years prior of making the world better than when you found
it rang true. This community was not like the neighborhood that I lived in, and I was

under pressure. Working for the DO sounds exactly where I would be able to use my
knowledge and analytical skills to the best of my ability to improve global
In-Flight Recycling Program
I have had the opportunity to work for two companies that have specific programs
for recycling. These two companies consist of Compass Airline and Wal Mart stores.
As a Flight Attendant at Compass Airline, I proudly practiced the recycling initiative
on board aircrafts which was put in place by their parent company Delta Airline.
More specifically, this initiative is called the In Flight RecyclingProgram. While in
flight, I collected single stream materials such as plastic, aluminum, and paper and
combined them into designated bags for their pickup by Cabin Service to be
transported to designated site specific recycling containers upon arrival. At my
current employer, Wal Mart stores, I have been fortunate to practice and educate

Jigsaw Movie Comparison
The infamous Saw series just recently added their newest installment Jigsaw .
Jigsaw acts as both a sequel as well as a prequel to the Saw movies. For those who
are not familiar with the series, the movies contain the main character John Kramer
better known as Jigsaw. The most recent movie titled Jigsaw follows the same plot
as the first seven movies. John Kramer a psychopath who is on a mission to show
his victims that they need to appreciate life in order to keep their own. Kramer sets
up a sick and twisted game by putting several individuals in situations in which they
choose their fate. Live or die make your choice. Jigsaw. Some of these games
(pictured below) include buckets being put around their heads and chains attached...

A lot of people argue that John Kramer was not a murderer because he did not lay
hands on these victims resulting in their deaths, and he gave them the option to
live or die. Or at least die trying... Here is where I completely disagree. Though
Kramer did not physically put his hands on these victims and kill them, he still had
to carefully consider every option on how each one of his contraptions and games
would play out. He had to know that these victims could face the punishment of
death in which he decided how they would die in those specific scenarios that he
thought up. Jigsaw purposely instilled fear into his victims and for most he forced
into playing the games because they knew that they re ultimate consequence would
be death if not. John Kramer was in a position of power and though he claimed to
be teaching the lesson on how much a life is actually worth, he was abusing life and

The Theme of Sin in the Scarlett Letter by Nathaniel...
The first couple of chapters introduces us to Hester Prynne and begins to explore
the theme of sin, along with its connection to knowledge and social order. This is a
world that has already fallen, that already knows sin. They know that misbehavior,
evil, and death are unavoidable. This belief fits into the larger Puritan doctrine,
which puts heavy emphasis on the idea of original sin. While exposing sin is meant
to help the sinner and provide an example for others, such exposure does more than
merely protect the community. Hester becomes a scapegoat and gives the
townspeople, particularly the women, a chance to demonstrate their own piety by
condemning her as loudly as possible. Rather than seeing their own potential
sinfulness in Hester, the townspeople see her as someone whose transgressions
outweigh and obliterate their own errors. The women of the town criticize her for
embroidering the scarlet letter, the symbol of her shame, with such care and in such
a flashy manner: It seems to declare that she is proud, rather than ashamed, of her
sin. In reality, Hester simply accepts the sin and its symbol as part of herself. The
town has made Hester into a living sermon because she is stripped of her humanity
and made to serve the needs of the community. Her punishment is expressed in
violent terms. The men who sit in judgment of Hester are not only hypocritical but
also ignorant. The narrator tells us that these ignorant men had no right to meddle
with a question of
Problems with the Death Penalty Essay
Problems with the Death Penalty
To begin with, I will be telling you information that shows that the death
penalty is unfair, cruel, and very wasteful. To start with, I will prove to you how
poor people are not getting the correct representation they deserve. Nextly, I will
tell you about how the innocent have been accused of horrible crimes they didn t
commit and even in some cases how they were almost killed and how some have been
killed. Finally, I will show you how the death penalty is a waste of money and how
the money could be being used in a more positive manner. Firstly, when you think of
capital punishment attorneys you probably think

equal justice to prevail. Even Supreme Court justices say There probably has
never been a wider gulf between the need for legal services and the provision of
those services. There is a great deal to be concerned about, or even ashamed of,
stated Justice O Connor. Others with in adequate counsels have already been
exucuted or remain on death row. Far too often, people mostly poor, are given the
death penalty not because they commited the worst crimes, but because they had the
worst lawyers. In addition, I will now tell you a story that truely shows how poorly
the defense lawyers are.
Lloyd Schlup was accused of murder. His attorney did nothing to prepare
for trial, his attorney assumed that the case would be thrown out beforehand. But
when the case was announced for trial it was too late for him to prepare. Llyod s
defense attorney was appointed to him by the judge. His attorney put on no defense.
Despite the enormous amount of evidence that would prove him innocent, this
included a video tape and eyewitnesses proving that he was nowhere near the scene
of crime. His attorney never enterviewed any of

Both, Gramazio and Kohler, seem to satisfy a more holistic view of Richard Sennett
ideas. They seem to develop an in depth interaction with the robotic technology, a
method that enriches the act of craft in a more liberated way.
There are two the main factors that broaden the architectural design potentials by the
use of the robotic technology. First, the control software plays a crucial role because
robots enable the manufacturing of object directly from their digital description, thus,
the designer is enabled with an in depth interaction with the manufacturing processes
that emerge and grasps the opportunity to experiment with non standard project
specific fabrications. Furthermore, the ability of the computer to permit the objects

It is upon this machine that Gramazio and Kohler effectuate the conceptual approach

R O B scale 1:1
The R O B mobile fabrication unit has brought new possibilities in the building
environment since it can be applied at an architectural scale with the capability to
expand the possibilities to reinvent the architectural processes and materials. In
addition, R O B ability to be liberated from the fixed production location is
probably his biggest advantage among others. The unit is housed in a specially
adapted freight container of standard size and can be easily transported directly on
the building site. The R O B is consisted of a customary industrial robot mounted on a
linear axis and has the ability to cover a workspace big enough for the fabrication of
1:1 scale architectural elements which are built directly. By the use of the robotic
arm complete building elements are no longer needed, only raw material has to be
brought on site, hence reducing transport and economic costs. Upon the conception
of the R O B, the production of building parts can be synchronized to the progress of
the building. Hence, design and fabrication experience unforeseen changes in the
course of construction process. As a result designers can react to strategic changes

1492 Reflection
History has recorded events and happening of different nature and at the same
brought revelation of God s works in the lives of people. They initially began as
those that had some perceptions about their questions, the questions that became a
personal desire for them to search for the unveiled truth. Those that witnessed their
struggles, journeys and successes called them dreamers. The movie 1492: Conquest
of Paradise is an account of the expeditions of an Italian explorer who discovered the
Americas. The paper will address questions from the course syllabus serving as a film
review for this movie as well as integrating some personal reflections.
Keeping in view that the beginning of the movie points to the struggle of
Columbus seeking permission from the Queen of Castile for him to undertake a
voyage to the Asia in search for gold, the auteur is introducing his perspective to
the viewer in indirect ways. I state this because I found a deep contrast between the
course readings and this movie. Additionally, my personal reflections usually draw
from a critical mindset which is with respect to theology, however, not being able
to read into the historical narrative because of my literary background as a
Pakistani, I had been unfamiliar with the narrative of Columbus or discovery of the
Americas. Since, I had not been introduced to the world history, I was confused what
I should consider as true and what I should consider as the made up truth. However, I

Maya Case Study Essay
Having read and researched Maya s case study the first question I asked myself
was, what is an Adaptation within the human body? My understanding is that an
adaptation within the body is the long term physiological changes in response to
frequent training, allowing the body to meet new demands and help in the
additional stresses that are placed on the body itself. In the case of Maya, I have
studied the chronic adaptations of Maya s muscular and cardiorespiratory system
as a response to her three months training and indeed her target goal to return to
her preferred sport of tennis. I believe that although Maya would be training in the
correct way, playing tennis again as well as the exercise regime she has designed
would enable her to return to a good level of fitness, and the standard that she had
previously played. Maya s exercise regime would enable her to strengthen her
requirement and aspirations to play tennis again. Training exercises when lifting
weights is a result of the learning... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Maya s resting heart rate would also decrease as her training progresses due to the
circulatory system being more efficient. Accumulating lactic acid is much lower
during higher levels of activity, due to the circulatory system providing more
oxygen resulting in the removal of waste products faster. Arterial walls become
more elasticated which allows greater tolerance of changes in blood pressure. This
would result in respiratory muscles (Diaphragm/intercostals) increasing in strength
thus giving a larger respiratory volume, which would allow more oxygen to be
diffused into the blood flow (VO2 max). This effect on Maya s body would lead to
an increase in the number and diameter of capillaries surrounding the alveoli leads to
an increase in the efficiency of gaseous

varies on each and everyone. Individuals can perceive and process information in
different kinds of ways, which implies that the degree to which individuals learn
has as much as to do with whether the learning experience is geared to their style of
learning. Some of the individuals learn and develop easily in the early stage, while
others are not. For some time now educational research exploring the issue of
academic achievement or success has extended beyond simple issues of intelligence
and prior academic achievement. One concept in particular which has provided some
valuable insights into learning both academic and other settings is learning style.

All of us have the capacity to learn in all four modes. You naturally gravitate to one
over the others based on which style has led to your greatest learning successes.
Background of the Study People are not alike; the world is seen in a way that makes
the most sense to each individual. Since two persons are not basically alike, not all
benefits from the same approach. Each individual has his or her own unique learning
strengths and weaknesses. Thus, educators must use a variety of method to reach the
students. This research study has brought together academic study (knowing),
personal growth (being) and practical experience (doing). In choosing the research
topic, the researchers observed the different setting inside the classroom the
environment inside the classroom and how the students cope during lectures. At the
outset it seemed that the members had different issues and interests. As the concerns
were discussed and personal experiences were shared, the research group seemingly
integrated each other s thinking and move toward a consensus. Brainstorming was
used to help the group decide on which topic to research on as a number of
suggestions were narrowed down to the most appropriate choice. The sharing of
ideas made all of the researchers more aware of the complexities of the problem. And
this has led them to the issue on the different learning styles of students.
Queen Elizabeth I Essays
Queen Elizabeth I was by all rights England s most praised monarch. Her success in
her reign, viewed in later centuries, cannot adequately encompass all that she did or
how she maintained her power. In part, her endurance stems from the way in which
she learned early in life to fight with forces that were not physical, those of her mind,
her intellect, and her own spirit. She used her intellect to create an empire. Her
education and early training of mind together with her basic understanding of
humanity, both of her own and that of her subjects, kept her at the helm for more
than forty years. Analysis of her writings, which include speeches, poems, letters, and
documents to Parliament, will help readers understand that Elizabeth... Show more

Queen Elizabeth I was actually born Elizabeth Tudor, the daughter of Henry VIII and
his second wife (after England s split from the Catholic Church), Anne Boleyn. She
was crowned Queen of England on January14, 1559 and reined for the next 44
years. She is remembered by such names as the Virgin Queen and Good Queen Bess.
Her childhood was a rather tumultuous one, with her father paying very little or no
attention to her. Her governess had to write to him saying that Elizabeth needed
some clothes because all of the ones that she had were too small. Her mother was
executed when she was 2 years old after being accused of adultery, incest etc. After
her father s death, the throne went to her Catholic half sister Mary. Mary s policies of
burning Protestants at the stake and an unsuccessful war with France, wherein she
lost Callais, the last of England s strongholds on the continent, made her less than
popular.
When Elizabeth was sixteen rumors were spread she had plotted with Thomas
Seymour to put him in line for the throne. In addition, the rumor that she was having
a love affair with him and was pregnant with his child surfaced. These rumors called
into question the value of honor and honesty of the young Lady Elizabeth.
In this situation, Elizabeth shows one of her first examples of building her leadership
image through her writings. Elizabeth wrote a letter

when they are growing up, and they work day and night to pay for their studies

  • 2. Tomorrow When The War Began Essay Topics In our forever changing society, it is important to have teen literature as a source where young adults can learn about and enhance their knowledge on issues related to adolescence and the progression into adulthood. Young Adult novels such as Tomorrow, When the War Began by John Marsden and others alike provide an escape where young people can be introduced to and understand certain concepts, whether they deal with growing up or just life in general. In the novel, Tomorrow, When the War Began, first published in 1994, the teens make many choices, both good and bad, and through this it conveys to the audience that these choices are essential to the fundamentals of life. With the book having a mostly young audience, this type of information is important because it shows that youth is about learning to make good choices and how these choices are the catalyst to becoming an adult. Examples of how teenagers are represented include: heroic, intelligent, brave, noble and powerful, just to name a few. From this characterisation, it empowers readers to reflect upon how they act in their daily lives and this then allows them to know that they themselves can have any of these qualities in their lives. If readers can identify with given themes from a novel, it allows them to relate the themes to situations that they may be going through and in turn, it lets readers normalise the struggles that they may be facing in their lives. In the journey of the characters in the novel,
  • 3. Hr Talent Managment Talent management is quickly becoming a top preference for companies all over the world. (Bhatnagar 2008). The reasoning to this is due to the surge in rivalry between businesses to capture the talent that is available, we call this the war for talent (Beardwell and Thompson, 2014). Talent management refers to the best suited people or individuals to the occupation in question, sometimes assigned A players . In the past the disorganisation of talent managementhas led to the breakdown of large multinational companies, who rectify the problem by turning over more and more talent which inevitably makes the problem worse, causing it to fail and an overall sense of pain is inflicted upon the companies. (Cappelli, 2008). However nowadays... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the case of Cedar Park Furniture will look for a combination of staff from inside and outside the business. Firstly we can look internally, the company could resource store managers from other locations and enrol them in the new stores. This is an effective strategy as the company is giving the employees the opportunity to develop and move up the ladder, it also is much more cost efficient. Externally it is probably best for the company to hire the floor staff, although it comes as a cost default, the company can then develop, invest and motivate these workers in their own unique way. Principle 2: Another key practice that Cedar Park Furniture should take on board in the regards of adopting a strategic approach to talent management, is to adapt to the uncertainty that staff may move on. To combat this the company should break up its recruitment system, hire employees in bundles not in mass amounts (Beardwell and Thompson, 2014).Therefore Cedar Park should relocate some of its staff from the UK and disperse then among the new shops. This helps to create a broad talent pool that can be allocated among a wide range of business systems. The production of portfolios is another way in which the senior management deals with the unprecedented leave of experienced staff (Beardwell and Thompson, 2014). Floor staff will be trained in diverse roles so the store can adapt if this sort of a situation arises. Principle 3: It is important that the company require
  • 4. Essay on Why Britain Won the Battle of Britain Why Britain Won the Battle of Britain After taking France in addition to his list of captured countries on mainland Europe, Adolf Hitler set his sights on Britain. After the success of Blitzkrieg, the evacuation of Dunkirk and the surrender of France, Britain was by herself. However, before Hitler could contemplate undertaking an invasion he was advised by his generals that Germany had to destroy the Fighter Command of the Royal Air Force in order to gain superiority in the air. This would in turn enable him to gain control of the English Channel in order to transfer the 160,000 German troops on the 2000 invasion barges, which had been assembled in German, French and Belgian harbors, over the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, under the category of technology I could say that one reason why Britain won the battle of Britain was because they had the services of the radar system. Firstly, the tactics employed by both sides would play a key role in itself to deciding the outcome of the Battle of Britain. The battle started on July 10th 1940 when the Luftwaffe attempted to gain control of the Straits of Dover. The tactics employed by the Luftwaffe was to tempt the RAF out for a full scale battle. However, by the end of July, the RAF had lost 150 aircraft while the Luftwaffe had lost 268. These figures illustrate that there was a much greater loss of aircraft experienced by Germany than the British. These large losses of planes from the outset of a battle would have been a significant blow to any army however, this would have damaged German morale as a greater loss of planes was not something they would have contemplated and as they were coming into this battle with such high expectations, this would have been a significant blow to the Luftwaffe and a stern wake up call to their commanders. However, Britain too was suffering, it was the loss of trained pilots that was crippling the RAF, and the real battle had yet to begin. In August, the Luftwaffe changed their tactics and started to attack Fighter Command s airfields, operation rooms and radar stations the idea being that the RAF
  • 5. Ron Weasley Essay Irrevocably, Ron Weasley is a riveting and remarkably relatable member of the Golden Trio. Unfortunately, the film adaptations of the Harry Potter books have slandered his depth and relegated him to the position of comic relief and placeholder. From even the first movie, Ron s character has been forced under thorough defamation, resulting in a character wholly unlike his written counterpart, and the dynamics of our trio was transmogrified into hero, heroine, and mascot. Having been robbed of a truly fascinating character, a substantial slice of the fanbase either harbours scorn or expresses unmitigated vitriol towards Ron. The discrepancies between book Ron and movie Ron usually occur through omissions in the film, and if we compare and contrast... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Weasleys are genuinely poor, and it influences Ron and kids who may identify themselves within him. Ron is accustomed to having very little, and it s conspicuous in what Ron eats, wears, buys, doesn t buy, as well as in the way he recoils when Harry unintentionally advertises his own riches. His insecurity is only exacerbated by Draco Malfoy s perpetual bashing; the verbal abuse flung at Ron predominantly surround his lack of academic intelligence, talent, and money. Outside of material wealth, Book Ron considers himself inferior to his accomplished brothers and his best friends respective fame and academic intelligence. Less is expected of him, and he oftentimes others apathy towards what he recognizes as his own achievements negatively affects him. Movie Ron is portrayed as simply envious of Harry. In the movies, the Horcrux gets to him through his love for Hermione. In the books, the Horcrux penetrates his emotional shields through the nagging suspicion that he isn t, never has been, and never will be good enough for anyone and anything. The scene following the locket s destruction is omitted, preventing viewers from witnessing Harry s realization of Ron s debilitating insecurity and Ron s understanding of Harry s reluctance to be the Chosen One. The film series fails to see value in Ron just as Ron fails to see value in
  • 6. Central Executive Functioning Central Executive Functioning Working memory is the immediate memory for the finite amount of material an individual is processing at the moment. This memory capacity allows an individual to keep information attainable and active in order to use them in various cognitive tasks. Working memory is similar to the outdated term known as short term memory. According to the working memory approach proposed by Baddeley (1996), this immediate memory is a multipart system consisting of four components known as the phonological loop, visuospatial sketchpad, central executive, and the episodic buffer. The component in question is the central executive, which is responsible for integration of the other components. Is the central executive an essential part of working memory or is it simply a glorified homunculus? The central executive component of working memory integrates information from the phonological loop, visuospatial sketchpad, the episodic buffer, and long term memory. The central executive is responsible for regulation of task that includes auditory, visual, and spatial activation in the brain region known as the frontal cortex. Research was performed at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center, to access whether the central executive truly is activated during verbal and spatial working memory tasks. A functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) was used to examine specific brain activation throughout these tasks. Results show that activation in the prefrontal
  • 7. Limitations Of Body Weight Exercise Bodyweight training has been a popular form of exercise for decades, especially when it comes to group exercise classes and workout videos. It can certainly be an effective form of exercise, but bodyweight training programs are often designed without really considering the many different types of people who perform the workouts. Bodyweight exercises are typically assumed to be appropriate for everyone, but that is not exactly true. Since bodyweight exercises do not use external resistance (weights, bands, etc.), people usually do not think about them having a numerical difficulty or weight value. As a result, bodyweight exercises are thought of as essentially being one size fits all with a person s weight being the correct amount for the exercise. There is a major flaw with this way of thinking, because bodyweight exercises do have weight just like any other form of resistance training. The difference is that instead of holding or supporting an external weight, the resistance of each exercise is determined by a percentage of your bodyweight. Therefore, each exercise does have a numerical resistance/weight value, even though you will not know the exact amount when performing the exercise. The important thing to realize is every bodyweight exercise puts a specific amount of stress on your muscles and as with every other type of exercise, the difficulty of bodyweight exercises should appropriately match your ability level and your goals. If the difficulty of the exercise is not

  • 9. Barack Obama s Current Tax Code With the presidential elections coming up, different tax policies are being debated between the candidates. Whether it is proposed by a Democratic or a Republican presidential candidate, there have been many possible solutions presented on how to reform the current tax code. Focusing specifically on four candidates, two from the Democratic Party, and two from the Republican Party, I will compare and contrast their respective taxproposals. While the Democratic candidates generally agree with President Obama s current tax code, all four candidates are looking to reform it in some way in order to, in their own eyes, better the current tax code affecting today s citizens. For the Democratic party, I will be taking a look into the proposed tax policies of Hillary Clinton as well as Bernie Sanders . On the other hand, for the Republican Party, I will examine the tax policies of Donald Trump along with Marco Rubio s. Before I begin comparing each of the four candidates, I will present some of the policies in the current tax code. This will help analyze the changes the candidates want to make when I immediately after list their tax policies and the specific changes they wish to bring about in order to improve the current tax code. Current tax code: The current tax code is aimed towards making it more fair for working families. The policy includes the American Opportunity Tax Credit, which gives up to $10,000 worth of tax credits to college students. For businesses that make less
  • 10. Essay About Chapter 1 The metal pieces shot through the wolf like creature s head, turning it into a black liquid substance before forming back into a head again. Seeing this Malessica started to move away from it. Epsilon followed Malessica, trying to keep a distance from the creature. Dorian had still been in the area, trying to find an opportunity to strike. Once he found his moment, Dorian clenched his right fist tightly sending a punch at the wolf creature. The creature turned its head towards Dorian, avoiding the punch and biting his arm. Dorian s body started to become visible again, watching the blood drip from his arm. How did it see him! Epsilon thought. He was completely invisible. Sylvia laughed, sitting on top of a car. What an interesting... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Epsilon shot out a bolt of lightning towards the bear, instantly turning the bear into a black liquid. Though it was a good hit, the ink eventually formed back into a bear. Dorian placed his hand over his bitten arm. Attacking those creations are pointless. The only time these things are going away, is if we defeat the user, though getting to her might be a bit hard. She s a long range fighter so she ll make sure we don t get too close. Sylvia smirked. A man with so much experience in combat. Though you re part of S.P.D I m actually more impressed by you. You re able to understand my power, but you ve barely seen the things I can create. My manifestation: Living Ink, is unbeatable. We need to make a plan. Dorian whispered. We ll just be wasting energy fighting these things. Epsilon surrounded his body with electricity. If you want to deal with long distance fighters, I m the guy you want. I have ranged attacks and my flash flicker allows me to move much faster than most people, I can close the distance between myself and her, no problem. Using Flash flicker, Epsilon sped past Malessica and Dorian, making his way to Sylvia. Stopping in front of her, he sent a strong yet quick punch to her stomach, causing her to spit up, sending her flying back. Malessica smiled as Epsilon delivered a strong blow. Epsilon noticed the snake tattoo from around her neck, jumped towards him turning into ink as it landed on his arm. The snake tattoo,
  • 11. The Second Oldest After The Westin The Sheraton name is a long standing brand under Starwood hotels and is currently the second oldest after the Westin. The headquarters for Sheraton hotels is located in White Plains, New York, but was founded in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1937. Ernest Henderson and Robert Moore adapted to the name Sheraton Hotel after acquiring an earlier hotel with that same name. According to them, their was a large lit sign on the roof that bore this name, but it was too heavy to move and too expensive to change and so from there on they decided to call all future hotels, Sheraton. By 1939, three hotels had been established by Henderson and Moore and more wore opening up on the east coast at a rapid past. In 1945, the Sheraton hotel chain... Here at the Sheraton Shanghai Hongqiao Hotel it is easy to enjoy all the comforts of home. In regards to my observations on the company s structure observed and experienced, I have noticed many factors inherent to Chinese business, much different than those in the United States. Noticeably, there is clearly a hierarchy in order. Everyone reports to their own manager and that manager reports to their manager and so on until they reach the general manager. For example, there was this one incident where one guest wanted his old room rate, but was soon informed that he had to make prior arrangements in order to receive it again. Unfortunately, since he did not make prior arrangements this time the guest became very angry and started yelling at the front desk staff.
  • 12. Manifesto Of The Communist Party The Communist Manifesto, originally drafted as, Manifesto of the Communist Party , is a pamphlet written by Karl Marx, that in essence reflects an attempt to explain the goals and objectives of Communism, while also explaining the concrete theories about the nature of society in relation to the political ideology. The Communist Manifesto breaks down the relationship of socio economic classes and specifically identifies the friction between those classes. Karl Marxessentially presents a well analyzed understanding of class struggles and the issues concerning capitalism, the means and modes of production and how those means affect the classes as a whole. Every society is structured or designed with the intention to form social classes; classes that will determine the social mobility of each individual living within it. Within the social hierarchy, there is inevitably one class that essentially oppresses the others. The Communist Manifesto features The Bourgeoisie and The Proletarians, and explains that the relationship between the two classes is a common frictional relationship that has occurred countless times throughout history. It explains that the modern Bourgeoisie will eventually fall, due to their inability to maintain a lifestyle for the proletarians; which is ultimately caused by the instability of capitalism. The goals of Communism are clearly set forward in the process. Marx informs us that Communism is established to achieve 3 major things: to solidly form
  • 13. The Signs Of The Gospel Of John Essay Introduction Amidst the disciples that had already seen the resurrected Christ, Thomas declares that he will not believe unless he personally sees and feels Jesus for himself. To which, on His appearance, Jesus said to him, Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed. Although the gospel of John is clear that Jesus preformed many signs that are not recorded, he states that the ones he records are for the purpose that those who have not seen may believe and have life in His name. Therefore, the eight signs John chooses are very important. These signs take Jesus out of the realm of the pious rabbi and challenge the reader to see the hand of God, indeed, God Himself, actively working in Jesus. It is the presence of God in the signs that Jesus preforms that show His deity. Water is now wine (John 2:1 12) John begins with, quite possibly, the most important sign. Just as John begins his gospel placing Jesus squarely at the creation, so here He begins the signs with an act of creation; turning water into wine at the marriage in Cana. Jesus mother was in attendance. Her motive in informing Jesus that there was a lack of wine is unknown, as well as what she expected temporally or miraculously. We can know from Jesus response that it may have been a miracle that she intended. He uses the phrase My hour, referring either to the appointed time, so that people might believe, or to the ultimate new beginning, the cross.
  • 14. Chaarismatic Writing Style Of The New Boy Network By... Analysis of The New Boy Network The New Boy Network is an example of author Malcolm Gladwell s charismatic writing style which makes seemingly drab subjects vividly interesting to a wide variety of readers. In this essay, he explores the complex nature of job interviews and how first impressions impact relationships. Gladwell argues that first impressions make an immediate impact on people, even if they do not represent the entire person to inform his audience to avoid relying solely on first impressions. He convinces the reader of this using personal anecdotes which relate the subject to readers and structures the writing, expert opinions which lend credibility to his argument, and utilizing an informal tone which engages the reader. Gladwell weaves an anecdoteabout a Harvard computer science student named Nolan Myers throughout the essay which help the reader relate to diverse topics and creates structure throughout the essay. Gladwell describes Myers as being handsome, charismatic, and easy going, however he cannot explain exactly why he is so gripped with him (5). This description of both his physical appearance and his personality relates the reader to Gladwell, and in turn, shapes the reader s impression of Myers. The reader s first impression of Myers is critical to Gladwell s argument because it makes the reader reflect on the fact that although he or she has never met Nolan Myers, the reader already likes him. This vividly illustrates the point that first impressions are impactful in relationships. These details also allow Gladwell to transition into discussing other people s opinions of Myers. This creates a smooth, easy to follow transition for the reader while hooking him or her with a personal story as opposed to a more academic tone. Another way that Gladwell utilizes the anecdote about Nolan Myers is to show how a first impression then impacts the meaning of everything else that that person says. One example of this is during Gladwell s interviewwith Myers. He says that he is not afraid of failure because he is confident that with time, he can learn many things. Gladwell then reflects that because he like Myers, the answer was confident. However, had he not liked Myers already, the

The US government put AUC on its list of terrorist organization on September 2001. Chiquita brand international is a pioneer in the globalization of the banana industry, where bananas are not only a serious business, but it is a representation of economic, social, political, and legal difficulties. From the perspective of Chiquita s Columbian subsidiary, Banadex S.A., they first began funding AUC in 1997 after receiving threats directed at its property and its employees. Chiquita was sending moneyto the AUC roughly every month in order to save their employees and property. Being in charge of the business, it was the responsibility of the company to put their employees safety first, and thus I feel they were in the right when they started making the payments at first. This was not a safe time because during the period of mid 1960s, Columbian civil war and armed conflict were very prevalent in those areas. There was the emergence of powerful drug cartels, which also increased the intensity of the conflict. Moreover, there was the presence of FARC, which is a revolutionary guerrilla organization and were involved in illicit and violent activities like extortions, bombings, kidnapping, as well as attacks on political and military goals. AUC promised Chiquita Bananathe protection from the political and war world around them. It made sense at that time

Personality inventories and patient interviews have in fact indicated that people who abuse or depend on drugs tend to be more dependent, antisocial, impulsive, novelty seeking, and depressive than other people (Coffey et al., 2003; Cox et al., 2001; Finn et al., 2000). These findings are correlational, however, and do not clarify whether such personality traits lead to drug use or whether drug use causes people to be dependent, impulsive, and the like. In an effort to determine causation, one study measured the personality traits of a large group of nonalcoholic young men and then kept track of each man s development (Jones, 1971, 1968). Years later, the traits of the men who developed alcohol problems in middle age were compared with the traits of those who did not. The men who developed alcohol problems had been more impulsive as teenagers and continued to be so in middle age, a finding suggesting that impulsive men are indeed more prone to develop alcohol problems. Similarly, in one laboratory investigation, impulsive rats those that generally had trouble delaying their rewards were found to drink more alcohol when offered it than other rats (Poulos et al., 1995). A major weakness of this line of argument is the wide range of personality traits that have been tied to substance abuse

On The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species published in 2015, dugong was classified to be vulnerable because the numbers of dugongs around the world had declined by at least 20% over the last 90 years (Marsh and Sobtzick), which was approximately three dugong generations. • 22. Chest To Glove Theory Pitching mechanics are one of the most controversial and complex things in all of sports. In the roughly 1.5 seconds that it takes for the pitcher to deliver a pitch, the pitcher uses almost every muscle in his body in a variety of ways. That is what makes it so difficult and also why it is so important that it is done correctly. There are many different ways of throwing a ball sixty feet six inches. Two of the main ones are chest to glove, and gloveside disconnect. The chest to glove theory is exactly what it sounds like, the pitchertries to bring his chest to his glove in hopes of getting a further release point. Gloveside disconnect is a little bit more tricky. With this method the pitcher either points his glove towards the catcheror... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of these negatives is that pitchers can lose lots of trunk rotation by trying to bring chest to glove. A quote that supports this is by focusing too much on getting your glove out and bringing your chest forward you often tend to block yourself off (The Importance of Good Glove Arm Action). Blocking off means that the pitcher is not fully able to get over their front foot and is unable to follow through correctly . This causes them to lose trunk rotation which is a very important part of high velocity pitching mechanics (How to efficiently change pitching mechanics). While this seems to contradict that the chest to glove method gives more angular trunk velocity, the two are actually different. The difference is that angular trunk velocity is the speed at which the trunk is moving while trunk rotation is the amount of movement, not necessarily how fast it is going. Another negative is that chest to glove can lead to no follow through. The less trunk rotation there is, the less a pitcher is going to be able to follow through, which is vital to deceleration. Proper deceleration is also extremely important to injury prevention. No follow through will often lead to throwing pitches high, which is not good. Not following through leads to a further back release point. The further back their release point the more likely it becomes that the ball will fly out early. These are the negatives of the chest to glove

The argument I am for is how this economic situation that took place in Atlas Shrugged could happen in the near future. I believe it could happen but not to the extent that happened in the movie. The reasons I believe that it could happen are because free trade could become a thing that stops because of too many trade restrictions and we will only have to use the goods and services that the United States has to offer. Another reason that I believe this could happen is because I think the demand for goods and services with exceed the supply that the market can offer and prices will rise because products are hard to come across and make. Begin with Paint When searching for creative ways to divide and decorate a shared bedroom for kids, begin by making a dramatic statement with color. To define and divide the shared space, apply two colors to divide the bedroom in half. For example, if a girl and a boy must share a bedroom, paint half of the room a cool shade of blue. Paint the other half of the shared bedroom a soft shade of lilac. This works well if the colors share the same intensity. Years later, after Oedipusdeath, Antigone uses the characteristics and qualities that have developed inside of her through the years towards fighting for that which she believes. When the king denies her brother a proper burial and makes it illegal for anyone to bury him in Sophocles Antigone, Antigone decides it is up to her to take justice into her own hands and give him a proper burial. As a feminist she stands up to male dominance in order to make her views heard. Antigone forces her political and religious views on the male dictator and his domain when she places heavenly decree above state law by burying her brother, Polynices. In ancient Greece, it was believed that if a body were not buried, the spirit would roam the earth and never reach heaven. By not burying Polynices body, King Creon took the power of the gods away by deciding that Polynices did not deserve
  • 36. Gender And Sexual Issues Among Men And Women There are certain assumptions made by society that are likely to make a women accused of witch craft such as social status, age, and marital status. It is clear that the gender and sexual issues among men and women are a contribution towards those who were punished for witch craft. Women who were blamed for witchcrafthad very little sway to change the minds of others once that seed was planted. Even though a womanmay be poor or even unmarried these were characteristics that made a woman more likely to be an easy target to blame mishaps on. A woman s social status stemmed from popular misogyny and the ideals that men expected from them. For example during the fifteenth century Dominican reform movement they promoted celibacy in woman. A woman s sexuality was thought of in the same way as Virgin Mary so they equated sin and death and if a women did not fit into this religious picture she was most likely to be accused of witch craft. As stated by Sigrid The Malleus claims that women rather than men become witches because they are weaker, less intelligent, and so lascivious that they fall easy prey to temptation (Fearless Wives, pg. 14). This idea stemming from the fifteenth century reform is a representation of how men thought of woman. Men believed that women were more likely to succumb to witchy powers because they are easily tempted or not as smart. Most alleged witches were spinsters who were poor rural spinners working for low wage. However the job itself caused

Throughout the church there was varying opinions of the explosion and the war itself. Some people believed that the war would be necessary, while others believed there was no need for a war. IN an editorial from a New York Methodist newspaper in April 1898: Should we now go to war, insisted the Syracuse Northern Christian Advocate, our cause will be just, and Methodismwill be ready to do its full duty. Every Methodist preacher will be a recruiting officer (Shankman, 1973). However, in the south, the Southern Christian Advocate pushed for people to help send aid to the Cubans that are refugees and on the island; some groups even set up soup kitchens and churches donated some money as charity. These opinions helped spread the divide after the attack on the Maine: Generally, the Methodist press advised that rash accusations were unjust and foolish. The Nashville Christian Advocate suspected that the explosion had been the work of a misguided Spaniard or resulted from a fire on the Maine, and it thought that all premature judgments on the cause of the sinking did more harm than good. (Shankman, 1973) That view did not last long, by April 14 it was believed that the sinking of the USS Maine was not a mere accident, The Atlanta Wesleyan Christian Advocate first believed that Spanish perfidy had caused the catastrophe but later decided some hotheads

This so called leader, terrorized the people of North Korea since April 11th, 2012; his cruelty is subject to the fact he has no mercy towards anyone who speaks against him, no matter if they are a civilian or political figure. The supreme leader is perceived as a devil, as he has total control over the country, using his power to manipulate the North Korean media. People are unaware that there is a genocide that is happening at this very moment. Although, many people may not believe this argument, a genocide is defined as an act committed with the intent to destroy, and unfortunately that is exactly what Kim Jong Un is doing. He is eliminating all the bureaucratic parties that oppose him (1). In this country, there are internment camps that are still functioning with the sole purpose of forced labour and extermination. Similar to the captives in the Holocaust, prisoners endure lifetime isolation, inhumane conditions, and humiliation. Therefore, the North Korean internment camp, Kaechon is proven to be just as horrid as Dachau. The North Korean government claims the internment camps are not real, but clearly there are videos and photos that prove their existence, there is no denying what the truth really is. One particular camp called Kaechon internment camp, commonly known as Camp fourteen was established by Kim Jong Un s grandfather, Kim Il sung. Ever since the camp

The United States population s ability to express themselves has grown the most in recent decades. Specifically in art, one can express themselves however they want, no: restrictions, limitations, or necessary guidelines. This capability to express one s self is comparable to our cultures recent stressed activism for the freedom to act without criticism. Artist s role now, is to be as personal, unique, and creative as possible. Our society is going through a change of cultural acceptance for those who feel oppressed. Art is currently about being creative and expressing emotions or ideas through a surface plane medium. However, it always was not this way. Artists and their art world, from century to century, responds to their societies attributes. Because of this, past cultures prominence can be interpreted and represented through their art. Recalling the oldest known art periods, first, the Prehistoric Art era, we can see societies from b.c. through 2500 b.c., that their cultures were advanced. From personal representations of nature and deities, these people s small ability to create different types of art shows how they were more skilled craftsman, instead of artists. Cave Paintings and other art forms represent their hunting and living styles. For example, the Women from Willendorf, can show how they expressed themselves through art but, art was not considered to be a profession in the Prehistoric Art era

Individuals often believe life is independent of outside forces; one does not often ponder whether situations that introduce decisions or experiences are controlled by fate and the gods. In Virgil s The Aeneid, he introduces the notion that we are all subject to the workings of fate regardless of our will or desire; this is shown through the tragic romance between Aeneas, a Trojan, and Dido, the queen of Carthage. (Virgil, p.136) Aeneas desires the love of Dido, but recognizes his obligation to found Rome. This is where a complication arises regarding fate. Aeneas strayed from his destiny, moving alongside his desires rather than uniting his aspirations with his obligations, thus creating conflict within his life and difficulties weighing the importance of his obligations and desires. The pressures of fate and the gods were not in Aeneas control; however, it was his own decision to fall in love with Dido and ignore his mission, even if momentarily. As humans we are obligated to one another regardless of desire. Later, Aeneas decides to return to the path molded for him: in spite of all he obeys the gods commands and back he goes to his ships. (Virgil, p. 141) Aeneas ignores his passion for Dido and continues on his path of obligation to Troy. It was not the decision of the gods, nor the doing of fate; Aeneas decisions are his own. However, if Aeneas would have strayed towards his desires, he would have continuously ended up within the line of his destiny because regardless of our wants we ultimately walk within the parameters Fate allows. • 42. Gender Roles A Self Fulling Prophecy Essay This cycle can negatively impact the author s life and the reader s life, whether they know it or not, because as they read or write harmfully gendered relationships, they subconsciously affirm the truths portrayed in the fiction and spread these beliefs to other readers. In other words, damaging genderroles appear right and natural, because they are so often depicted in the media as right and natural, with relationships healthy based on equality being rarely offered as the alternative. This makes heteronomrative gender roles a self fulling prophecy with people performing these stereotypes, because they are presented as the norm. If feminized male characters serve as the stand in for the female reader, then fanfictions that depicts the feminine as mentally and physically less able than the masculine must contribute to this vicious cycle as well. In addition, the masculine gender roleoften exemplifies the type of behavior considered natural for men. In American culture, part of this natural masculine gender role assumes that men will be complicit ,if not actively participating, in patriarchal culture and the poisonous values often associated with it. The traditional masculine model is made to seem so right that men portraying this gender role, and the women reading about this gender role, are made to believe that the domination and exploitation of women, and even other men, is not just expected, but demanded (Carter 2011). • 48. The Theme of Sin in the Scarlett Letter by Nathaniel... The first couple of chapters introduces us to Hester Prynne and begins to explore the theme of sin, along with its connection to knowledge and social order. This is a world that has already fallen, that already knows sin. They know that misbehavior, evil, and death are unavoidable. This belief fits into the larger Puritan doctrine, which puts heavy emphasis on the idea of original sin. While exposing sin is meant to help the sinner and provide an example for others, such exposure does more than merely protect the community. Hester becomes a scapegoat and gives the townspeople, particularly the women, a chance to demonstrate their own piety by condemning her as loudly as possible. Rather than seeing their own potential sinfulness in Hester, the townspeople see her as someone whose transgressions outweigh and obliterate their own errors. The women of the town criticize her for embroidering the scarlet letter, the symbol of her shame, with such care and in such a flashy manner: It seems to declare that she is proud, rather than ashamed, of her sin. In reality, Hester simply accepts the sin and its symbol as part of herself. The town has made Hester into a living sermon because she is stripped of her humanity and made to serve the needs of the community. Her punishment is expressed in violent terms. The men who sit in judgment of Hester are not only hypocritical but also ignorant. The narrator tells us that these ignorant men had no right to meddle with a question of

My understanding is that an adaptation within the body is the long term physiological changes in response to frequent training, allowing the body to meet new demands and help in the additional stresses that are placed on the body itself. In the case of Maya, I have studied the chronic adaptations of Maya s muscular and cardiorespiratory system as a response to her three months training and indeed her target goal to return to her preferred sport of tennis. I believe that although Maya would be training in the correct way, playing tennis again as well as the exercise regime she has designed would enable her to return to a good level of fitness, and the standard that she had previously played.
