There Will Come Soft Rain Personification
Throughout the history of the human race, war has affected, ameliorated, and devastated lives. Those
drafted and taken away from their family have seen the damaging, atrocious side of war. Conversely,
the admiral, valuable side has been seen by the Koreans, now allowed to have the right of freedom.
Many of the world has their own personal opinion about war. In 1920, Sara Teasdale told the world
her opinion by the publishing of her twelve line poem, There Will Come Soft Rains. In only the few
stanzas, Teasdale described a post war land, where all humans have perished. Sara Teasdale used
many techniques to prove the theme, that war is unnecessary and horrible, including imagery,
alliteration, and personification. Teasdale wrote There Will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Teasdale writes, robins will wear their feathery fire (5) and this example of personification is probably
the most important because, evidently, the phrase also contains imagery making it more impactful.
Otherwise, when concentrating on the use of personification, without the humans to wear the clothes
around the world. So stating that robins will wear something, just tends to the setting of a world with
the disease of all humans. And spring herself, when she woke at dawn (11) is an important use of
personification used by the poet. Spring is an unanitmit and intangible object that does have the ability
to wake, nevertheless, humans can no longer wake in There Will Come Soft Rains. Through the poem
much personification happens, but one of the first is, And Frogs in the pools singing at night (3).
Accordingly, only humans can sign, yet Teasdale had the frogs signing to prove, even farther, the fact
that without humans on the earth, not everything would change. A use of personification can really
impact a poem, and Teasdale s use of personification didn t only impact the poem but brought a lot of
irony and

Adult Existential Crisis
Then, a study by Mary (2016) found out that one type of existential crisis usually occur in teenager
and is referred as sophomore crisis. This crisis can lead to an identity crisis if not given awareness.
She also said that existential crisis is different for people at different age groups and stated that there is
an adult existential crisis that is far more complex that sophomore crisis. The main difference is that
Adult Existential Crisis also deals with questions regarding legacy, mortality, and achievement.

3D Hydrogel Scaffold for Characterization of Ovarian Cancer Tumor Cell Growth

Abstract
Ovarian cancer is of significant concern to women because it is both hard to diagnose and aggressive.
As of current, there is a lack of viable in vitro models that accurately model ovarian cancer tumor
metastasis and growth. The purpose of this research is to develop a viable 3D hydrogel that enables
the ovarian cancer cell environment to be effectively modeled in vitro. The goal is to develop a 3D
hydrogel scaffold that properly models the mechanical, physical, and chemical properties of the in
vivo environment. These properties include but are not limited to: vascularization, cell migration,
cytokine signaling, metastasis, and chemosensitivity of cancer cells. By adequately modeling ovarian
cancer metastasis in vitro, the proposed scaffold will allow for more precise screening of drug efficacy
prior to usage in in vivo studies. To quantify whether or not the model is accurate, mechanical,
cytokine signaling, and drug efficacy tests will be carried out and evaluated to determine if the
proposed 3D hydrogel scaffold is suitable as a viable in vitro representation of ovarian cancer cell
environment. Thus, in the long term, this 3D hydrogel scaffold can be used in personalized medicine
and can determine the drug efficacy on a patient s own cancer cells as a precursor to chemotherapy
treatment.

Essay On Minimum Wage In Australia
Minimum wage is the lowest pay permitted by law that businesses should legitimately pay their
laborers. Comparably, it is the price floor underneath which specialists may not offer their work. Even
though the minimum wage laws are already in use in numerous places, contrasts of feeling exist about
the advantages and disadvantages of minimum wage. Supporters say it expands the way of life of
laborers, diminishes neediness, lessens imbalance, helps assurance and powers organizations to be
more efficient. Whereas rivals say it builds destitution, builds unemployment (especially among
untalented or unpractised specialists) and is harming to organizations, in light of the fact that
exorbitantly high minimum wages oblige organizations to raise the ... Show more content on

Who Is Hulu s Target Market
Companies always reshape their product to grow or to obtain their goal. Now multiple companies are
buying one another to get a better reach of their target market. The first article from Advertising Age
states that Hulu will stop offering TV shows for free. That is quite daunting for the users you range
from all ages especially millennials who are the main users. The streaming service is discarding its
free platform that provided streaming viewers with a library of hundreds of movies, TV shows, and
clips since 2007. Hulu s decision to terminate free streaming is a major step as it tries to gain more
traction against other streaming video sites, such as Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon. Hulu becomes a

It is drastic because when Hulu was announced back in 2005 the cable companies weren t too happy
about another platform getting all the views. Now they are on board with cable cutting. And that new,
live TV service just got a ton more channels: CNN, TBS, Cartoon Network, TNT, and more. Not a bad
haul! Alongside that buy in is the guarantee of Time Warner s many TV channels and the content they
produce to Hulu s live TV offering. Time Warner is far from the first major TV content creator to hook
up with Hulu s live TV service. NBCUniversal, Disney, and Fox are all in talks with Hulu to offer
channels on the new service. There are still lots of questions about the new service, like when exactly
it will launch and how much it ll cost. Rumors put the service at between $30 and $40/month, with an
expected launch in early 2017. The two articles are related because they depict Hulu s future and their

The Supreme Court Case Of Buck Vs. Bell
Buck vs. Bell The Supreme Court case of Buck v. Bell in 1997 is a lawsuit in which the U.S. Supreme
Court upheld a Virginia law that offered the eugenic sterilization for individuals regarded genetically
unfit. The Supreme Court s decision to uphold Virginia s statute regarding sterilization provided the
basis for enactment of similar laws across the United States and subsequent sterilization of 65,000
Americans without their approval or that of their family members. Notably, the ruling of this case was
based on the concept of feeblemindedness, which is no longer applicable in medical terminology.
Actually, this case primarily involved state enforced eugenic sterilization for individuals considered
feebleminded or genetically substandard in certain ways. The case provides considerable insights
concerning eugenics and enforced sterilization in the United States and significant concerns on
whether genetics should be used for any king of legal decision.
Case Summary As previously mentioned, the Supreme Court case of Buck vs. Bell in 1927 was a
lawsuit that entailed state enforced eugenic sterilization for individuals regarded feebleminded or
somehow genetically substandard. Carrie Buck, the plaintiff, together with her mother had been
devoted to the Virginia Colony of Epileptics and Feeble Minded in Virginia (Eugenics Archive, n.d.).
The two were judged to be genetically inferior or feebleminded and immoral since they had children
out of wedlock. Moreover, Carrie Buck s child

David Foster Wallace Consider The Lobster Summary
Is it morally right to boil a lobster alive for culinary enjoyment? David Foster Wallace displays his
confusion on this subject in his informative essay titled Consider the Lobster. . He informs you about
the famed Maine Lobster Festival, where more than 25,000 pounds of fresh caught lobster is prepared
and consumed. He then goes into detail about the debate on the morality of such an event. There are a
lot of questions raised in this essay, and the lobster is the focus of all of them. Wallace asks people to
investigate their own feelings when he asks them to consider how comfortable it is for people to boil
lobsters alive, how much pain the lobster is in when it is being prepared, and what it is like to be in the
shoes of this crustacean. The purpose of this essay was to inform the people and get them to consider
the integrity of our most common cooking method when it comes to the lobster. First of all, the
experience of boiling a creature alive tends to feel quite uncomfortable for a lot of people, and there s
no avoiding that. Wallace says that it s not just that lobsters get boiled alive, it s that you do it yourself
or at least it s done specifically for you, on site (703). This tends to feel almost selfish due to the fact
that the animal is suffering for your enjoyment. To make matters worse, the intimacy of this process is
at a maximum when performed in your own home. Here, you get to watch as the lobster attempts to
cling to the sides of the container as you

The Ten Commandments Vs. Native American Religion
The Ten Commandments to some may not be important but to the Christian and Native American
religion it plays a key role in their beliefs as beings on the earth. They both believe in a greater god,
and being honest, but also differ in how the rules are written. For example, the Native American
Commandments say to be honest, while the Christian Commandments states, thou shalt not lie. With
all the different religions in the world, these two have found themselves relatable.
Though they are similar, the Christian Commandments seem to be much stricter. In the rules, God
states that you should not covet your neighbor s wife, and belongings. That s two more points about
jealousy than the Native American rules. One would say that the Christian set of rules focuses more on
the negative and what you shouldn t do, while the Native American set focuses mostly on how to
improve the earth and oneself.
Animals and the Earth are very important to the Native American culture. In the creation story, it
states that a giant sea turtle rose up out of the water... If the birds placed the woman on his back, she
would be able to rest... (Iroquois 2). This shows how the Native Americans are forever in the turtles

similar is that they both have one God that rules over all. Christianity has many names for God, such
as Messiah, Jehovah, and Lord. Spirit God and Higher Spirit are the names that the Native Americans

The Choices of Nora Helmer
The Choices of Nora Helmer The one thing that every person is granted in life is having the option to
choose. Choosing whether to stand or to sit; to go or to stay; to speak up or to stay quiet and fictional
characters should be no different. In Henrik Ibsen s play, A Doll s House, the protagonist Nora Helmer
is always making decisions that she feels are beneficial. Nora is like a typical housewife: devoted to
her husband, children, and home. Just in the beginning of the play, she is seen coming back home after
a day spent shopping for Christmas presents for her family. The reader grasps that she is a loving
individual, but it also seems as if she is naïve. This all changes as the play continues. Just from how

Her decision displays how dedicated she is to her family. She wants what is best for her husband and
what was best for him was for he to go to Italy. This choice also shows her strength. She knew that
there was a huge chance that Helmer would be infuriated with her, for women at that time could not
borrow money without their husband consent. Nora was willing to face his rage just to make sure that
he received the help he needed. Nora s unexpected decision to leave Helmer shows the confidence she
has within herself and the strong ability that she posses. This result occurs when Helmer finds out that
Nora had borrowed money from Krogstad to finance the trip to Italy. The two get into an argument,
but it quickly dies down once Helmer receives another letter from Krogstad saying how he will not
blackmail Nora anymore. Helmer tries to console her but at this point it was too late. She explains
how she feels like his trophy by exclaiming, ...But our home s been nothing but a playroom. I ve been
your doll wife, the same way that I was Papa s doll child. And the children have been my dolls. I
thought it was great fun when you played with me, the way they thought it was when I played with

The Lottery Short Story Essay
Elements that reinforce the horror of the lottery
An astonishing ending of a story makes a story more memorable and interesting. It lingers in reader s
memory and starts to evoke multiple readings. Such story allows the author to better deliver his or her
values to the audience. In order to build a surprising ending, not only the plotline has to be interesting,
but also needs to use some smart tricks or techniques. In the short story, The Lottery written by Shirley
Jackson, the setting, tone, narrative strategy and irony effectively builds up the plot, inconspicuously
foreshadows and exaggerates the shock and horror of the ending, therefore, effectively reinforces the
themes of the story.
The story starts with the residents of a village gathering together on June 27th, 1948 for an annual
ritual ceremony, the lottery. Although the first half of the story seems celebratory and cheerful, it soon
becomes mysterious that nobody wants to win this lottery. The protagonist, Tessie Hutchinson who
arrives late protests that the event is not fair when her family is selected as the winner . Although it
seems weird, the readers still have no idea what to expect. Until the very last two paragraphs, the truth
is finally revealed. The winner will be stoned to death by all the residents in this town. Throughout the
story, the readers learn about the history of the lottery, people s opinion about the lottery and
procedure of the lottery. However, the final prize of the lottery is

Custom House In Scarlet Letter
Nathaniel Hawthorne s introduction to The Scarlet Letter , The Custom House introduces the reader to
the narrator who bears a likeness to Hawthorne himself. Similarities between the two include their
occupation in the custom house, being descendants of Puritans, having an interest in writing, and also
being native to Salem. The narrator in the introduction describes the custom house, his work there, the
employees, writing in general, but the most significant event in this introduction was his discovery of
an unusual package, the contents in it being the scarlet letter an A , and records that date back to the
seventeenth century in the Puritan community. After being dismissed from his job the narrator felt
compelled to write about this discovery.

The prison door represents punishment to those who have sinned, justice, the austerity of Puritan
society and human nature (humans are sinful by nature). In contrast the rose bush is ...wild...covered,

(positive outlook), hope and even individuality since it the only beautiful and optimistically described
thing in this chapter. Note, Hawthorne was a transcendentalist and that individualism was a
fundamental idea in this philosophical movement. Also, Hawthorne sought to be a part or help create a
utopia (Brook Farm communal experiment) like the Puritans who had hoped to create their shining
city upon a hill ; ironic that Hawthorne has criticized the Puritans who ultimately had the same goal as
Hawthorne, to create a utopia. The placing of the prison door and the rose bush near one another
created a juxtaposition of themes of strict vs. wild and justice vs. mercy.

The Effects Of Immigration On The United States
Immigration can be defined as: the movement from one country to another country. Immigration had
two major impacts on the US: on the labor market and especially on the politics of race. The black
rebellions of the 1960s created a political crisis for the government of US on the adequate response to
black rebellions. Daniel Patrick Moynihan and President Johnson proposed two different policies to
resolve black poverty.
Moynihan s reason as to why black poverty exists is due to the pathology of African Americans. He
believes African Americans shouldn t demand for Affirmative Action. Moynihan s reason ties into
Goldfield s theories of impoverishment for poverty as pathology. Poverty as pathology states how

The analysis of the African American culture is to be compared to the culture of Asian Americans. The
culture of Asian Americans is considered as the model minority. The term, model minority is a

African Americans consists of families who tolerate foolish behavior and whose standards are not that
high and strict. The culture of Asian Americans (families) is in contrast to the culture of African
Americans (families). The culture includes: providing a secure environment for children, pushing
children to work harder, foster savings, being disciplined and submissive, motivate and discipline their

Stephen Jay Gould And Friedrich Nietzsche
Religion Verses Nature If God is good and if creation reveals his goodness, why do nature s victims
suffer? Is God dead? These are the questions that the two essays from Stephen Jay Gould and
Friedrich Nietzsche ask and attempt to answer. Stephen Jay Gould was a well known professor of
geology, zoology and curator of invertebrate paleontology in the Museum of Comparative Zoology at
Harvard University. Gould feels that animals are too complex to be compared to humans and deciding
what is good and evil. Friedrich Nietzsche was one of the most influential German philosophers.
Nietzsche feels as though God is dead and the commitment to religion is contradicting instincts of
nature. In Stephen Jay Gould s essay Nonmoral Nature he feels that human beings should not be
compared to animals when it comes to morality. Charles Darwin was an English naturalist trained as a
minister, which Stephen Jay Gould mentions in his teachings. Charles Darwin famously known for his
theory of branching pattern of evolution did not see conflict between his theories and religious beliefs.
Gould feels that just like Darwin humans should separate that of scientific fact from religious beliefs
and morals. (Gould 636) Theologians in the nineteenth century would disagree with Stephen Gould
but that is only because their thought process was different. Nineteenth century theologians
anthropomorphized such predators which made them look evil as if they were human beings acting
out brutality, when in

The Media Of Advertisements On Advertisements
In today s fast paced world, media texts such as advertisements aim to convey meaning with a single
glance. Through using clever tools to interpretation , rhetorical, genre and narratology this can be
achieved, meaning that adverts on billboards or in magazines can successfully get their message
across with no more than a fleeting look. It is the different combinations and the selected signs which
allow us in general to convey meanings through any print advertisement and the connotations that
these signs have and what we determine from different types of signs, through the process of
signification. These tools allow brands, products, to anchor a product and create a naturalised myth of
the product such as this product t will for fill your benefits , to sell it to the consumerist world. As we
are now in an age of sophisticated advertising, there are no long written messages on the majority of
print advertisements. It is down to certain tools to produce a complex network of signs to produce a
direct anchored meaning and in most cases to avoid vagueness.
There are many conventions that the genre of print advertisements and particularly headphone
advertisements adheres to and outstanding to these common features we have certain expectations of
what they will include. The advertisement I have chosen both in print and on clip is a sub genre of

The Man Who Killed A Shadow By Richard Wright
Richard Wright s short story entitled, The Man Who Killed A Shadow showed the reality and truth of
a black man s life and how quickly it can be jeopardized when race and sex are mixed together. When
I began reading the story I felt heartbroken for the main character because he just seemed like a good
human being. Saul basically grew up with no role models to guide him in his life and his parents and
grandmother died when he was a young boy. Saul quickly had to adapt to these changes and began
working to support himself. When Saul began working at a young age he did not understand why the
shadows or white people saw him as inferior. This was something that he noticed that black people
just seemed to accept and he began to accept it as well even though he had no idea why. Saul had to
continue to work for the white shadows became increasingly unhappy with the way his life was going.
The narrator states, At the age of fifteen Saul knew that the life he was living was to be his lot, that
there no way to rid himself of his plaguing sense of unreality, no way to relax and forget (187). It was
extremely depressing to me that Saul knew at the age of fifteen that this was the reality of the rest of
his life. He knew he would never be happy and that he would have to work for the white shadows in
order to feed himself. One of the ways that Saul copes with his unfortunate reality is by drinking
heavily. It is the only thing that takes his mind off of his daily life and made him

Comparing God And Identity
God and Jesus are not the same in terms of identity. Jesus the Son and God the Father are the same
being. Even still, Jesus himself has His own identity. The Bible explains that God is three in one in
Matthew 28:18 20. He is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. They each have
different personalities and identities, yet they still form one being. God the Father plays a role in
which He oversees or generates many different things. If God and Jesus were truly the same all
around, then the scripture John 3:16 would be in vain. God the Father and God the Son (Jesus) are
actually two different people, but of the same essence. Therefore, Jesus (the Son) did not pray to
Himself in the garden of Gethsemane. He prayed to God the Father

Why the name Merb ys?
Newfoundland is an island that you can only access by boat or by plane. Since Newfoundland has

Scottish/Irish sounding. With the Newfie accent mermaids ended up sounding like merb ys, and that s
what the guys decided to name the calendar.

The Importance Of Kneeling
The Oxford English Dictionary defines the word, kneeling as, The action of kneel v.; a falling down,
or remaining, on the knees in worship, submission, etc.; in quot. 1631, advancing on the knees;
formerly often with pl., a genuflexion. This definition shows kneeling in a very respectful and
submissive manner. Kneeling, throughout centuries, has been used in many different churches, in
beautiful ceremonies, and even when one is going to propose. Kneeling is a symbol of great honor and
high respect for the one that you may be kneeling for. In the Catholic church, during prayer and during
worship, everyone kneels on the kneeling bar provided, and bows their heads, as a sign of respect and
animosity for their God. While being knighted, the knights kneel down in front of the king or queen in
respect for their lineage and in respect for their position or possible friendship. While proposing to the
one someone is in love with, it is customary to kneel on one knee and ask the question, this is seen a
sign of submission and it is also seen as a loving gesture. Oddly enough, ever since Colin Kaepernick,
who played for the San Francisco 49ers, took a knee during the National Anthem, to spread awareness
of the Black Lives Matter movement, kneeling has all of a sudden started to become seen as uncivil,
hateful, and plain rude. Throughout history, kneeling has been seen as a sign of respect, but lately in
the media it has been viewed as an act of disrespect. The president of the

Fibromyalgia is hell on earth for the millions of those suffering around the world, and while there is
finally new research into this insidious disease, many questions remain unanswered. For instance
fibromyalgia was labeled as fibrositis, (First labeled by Gowers in 1904), and later rheumatism, etc,
until the American College of Rheumatology agreed in 1990 to diagnostic criteria, (11 or more
specific tender points throughout body.)
What causes fibromyalgia? The history of fibromyalgia is truly very sad as this disease although very
old has only recently received the attention needed to find the cause. Additional historical facts
regarding fibromyalgia include:
1) Historically fibromyalgia has been considered either a neuropsychiatric or musculoskeletal
condition.
2) Additional early names for fibromyalgia included muscular rheumatism, psychogenic rheumatism,
and neurasthenia among others.
3) The term fibromyalgia came from researcher Mohammed Yunis as a synonym for fibrositis, and
was first used in 1981.
4) In 1987 an article first used

Memoirs Of A Geisha By Arthur Golden
Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide
to be . The concept behind Emerson s words are evident in the novel Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur
Golden. The main protagonist, Sayuri, demonstrates the way in which her life drastically changed
through self determination rather than assume the path of destiny. Destiny is simply a guideline in
which one follows throughout their life however, the concept of self determination is the detailed
description of which way life will go based on one s individual actions. Sayuri s determination in
pursuance of the love of her life led to a better lifestyle, better sentiment of self worth and self esteem
and an overall sense of happiness.

the world of geisha as, ...I became aware of all the magnificent silk wrapped about my body, and had
the feeling I might drown in beauty... (Golden, 187). In her journey of becoming a famous geisha,
Chiyo blossomed from the innocent child who knew nothing of the world to Sayuri, the woman with
fair skin and stunning grey blue eyes. Her self determination led to her appearance becoming an
essential part of her goals and ultimately led to a better understanding and appreciation for her gifts of
beauty which also attributed to a better life. However, in the case of the betterment of self esteem and
self worth through self determination, students with disabilities are excellent example of people who
have thrived in gaining self esteem. Through many research projects and analytical summaries of a
school s population based on the disabled and their overall self esteem rating, the more self

Incident Command System Analysis
The utilization of the Incident Command System (ICS) in the United States may at first glance appear
to be an overwhelming, and complicated system of hazard management. On the contrary, for most
responders with military, law enforcement, or fire service background, ICS closely conforms to the
principles of command structure with which they are familiar. Applying strict command structure,
along with standardized response training leads to higher probabilities of successful outcomes in the
face of the most chaotic emergencies. Large scale emergency responses like 9/11 are repeatedly
critiqued, often from afar, sometimes correctly, but sometimes unfairly. Responders on the ground

Training of individual responders in the use of PPE, hazardous material recognition, shielding tactics,
or establishing an immediate perimeter can often increase survivability and mission success. The use
of two man tactics to offensively isolate a terrorist, instead of waiting for a larger tactical unit response
can be effective in limiting the scope of violent attacks. The use of technologies including: video
surveillance, explosive detection, infrared viewing, thermal imaging, drones, and robotics are
examples of advantageous equipment that when used correctly can positively alter response ability.
The use of cross training of responder disciplines, such as police receiving fire or ems training will
lead to more capabilities and understanding by those first on scene. Approximately half of individuals
that work in law enforcement, fire, rescue, emergency medical, and related fields hold a second job in
a similar emergency response agency (Newman, and Clark, 2008). Every possible advantage should
be examined as first responders prepare for handling a terrorist situation, especially if the initial
immediate response is limited in scope. First on scene personnel must also survive an attack
themselves so that they may be able to aid

Aristophanes Voices Concerns for Ancient Greek Culture in...
Aristophanes was not a proponent of the majority of Athenian culture, as well as other aspects of
Greek life as whole. He despised the political, educational, and societal views that remained persistent
throughout Athens. While his plays may be comedies, he uses them in an assortment of ways. His
plays are used to demonstrate a purpose far beyond that of entertainment. He uses his writing for
voicing the problems that lie in Ancient culture.
Aristophanes uses each play to reveal certain issues that he felt should have been dealt with. His plays
featured satire, farces, and even comical dialogue. His plays were written with clarity and were quite
lyrical. Using plays as vessels for opinion is defined best by saying that The ... Show more content on

He creates a private and individual peace treaty with the Spartans, and he finally receives his peace.
His land and his home become war free (The Acharnians, lines 195 204).
The Acharnians were appalled that Dikaiopolis had signed a peace treaty. They form a mob and head
to his home. There, they insult him and they threaten his life. But the whole time this is going on,
Dikaiopolis is mocking them. He is insulting them because of how foolish they really are. Dikaiopolis
doesn t understand why they want to fight so much.
He takes every opportunity to advocate their stupidity by comically refuting their actions toward him
and his family. Dikaiopolis says, Comedy too can sometimes discern what is right. I shall not please,
but I shall say what is true, (The Acharnians, lines 500 501). He means that he is going to say
whatever he feels is right, and in the end, no matter what actions the Acharnians take, there isn t
anything they can do to stop him from laughing at what they do.
Aristophanes uses Dikaiopolis as an agent of conveyance. The Peloponnesian War had devastated the
Greek world in the 5th century (Perry, pg. 70), and this play was written to solidify Aristophanes
agreement with this statement. By choosing the Acharnians for this play, he chose a people that the
Athenians could relate to; a beaten down group of individuals whose only hopes of regaining pride
rested in their efforts to win the war.

Heart And Peripheral Vascular System
Heart and Peripheral Vascular System Chest pain is a symptom that can represent several different
diseases from different organ systems. It is essential to determine which system is responsible for the
pain and state the severity of the patient s condition (Longo et al., 2011). When considering pain, there
are eleven different criteria one must consider and evaluate. These include the duration of the pain,
onset, localization, irradiation, character, intensity, alleviating factors, aggravating factors, triggering
factors, regularity and accompanying signs (Longo et al., 2011). These are all useful in determining
the etiology of the pain and taking the appropriate therapeutic steps. The causes of chest pain are

positional with a pleuritic nature (Longo et al., 2011). The pain is relieved by leaning forward and

Another pain that is specific is that of aortic dissection. The condition is life threatening and could be
worsened by thrombolytics or anti aggregates, hence it is necessary to detect. The pain is sharp,
tearing, and severe and radiates to the back. The pain is pleuritic in nature and associated with a loss

conditions such as costochondritis. The pain is usually localized and the patient is able to pin point the
exact location of the pain. The pain is increased by inspiration and can be reproduced through
palpitation of the chest wall. Gastrointestinal causes of chest pain include GERD, which is due to an
incompetent lower esophageal sphincter. The pain is relieved by antacids and is exacerbated by the
consumption of chocolates and fatty foods. There are also pulmonary causes of chest pain and these

Analysis of quot;Blood Wedding quot; Essay
Federico Garcia Lorca s three plays, Blood Wedding, Yerma, and The House of Bernarda Alba share
many symbolisms. Lorca (Short Biography) wrote about many subjects and objects that often have an
unconscious double meaning. These unconscious symbols are known as archetypes, developed by the
psychologist, Carl G. Jung. This paper will analyze these symbols using Jung s theory of the
archetype. By doing so, the analysis will better explain some of the unconscious meaning and original
thoughts behind Lorca s symbols. This is important because a detailed reading will allow the reader to
clearly understand each symbol and why it is important to the society in the play, and to Lorca s
society. To begin, Jung explains that an archetype is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since archetypes are the formulation of the results of countless experiences of our ancestors, it is
possible for the archetype to cross section all experiences. This basically means that one object can
symbolize the same thing in different events or experiences. Archetypal images are objects that allude
to the instincts of man. The archetypes are the manifestations of the instincts, that is to say, creative
impulses from the unconscious, (Goldrunner 107). An archetype always expresses a comparison. If
someone talks about a tree and identifies it as the basis of life, it is neither one of these things, but
actually a third unknown thing that can find a happy medium expression within the first two. The
archetype will never let us forget the psychology of the past. It inspires our natural instincts, behavior,
and thought. The importance of these instincts is immeasurable within literature that focuses on the
injustices of society and its civilized culture. The repression of these instincts has allowed modern
society to dictate how individuals should live. This is why the importance of symbols in literature
usually has an archetypal background. Society has suppressed our natural thought to the extent that it
can only be expressed within the symbolism of literature. In Lorca s Blood Wedding, blood has many
significant symbolisms structured throughout the play. Blood is repeatedly

Narrative Structure Of Memento
Time can be a thinker s most thought provoking yet infuriating concept to grasp. Infinitely complex,
time plays a crucial role in everyone s life. We do not know much about it, other than that it is there.
What is before time or after time? Most movies move through a linear fashion. There is a beginning,
middle, and end. Narrative structure can slightly be bended or modified, but for the most part it
follows the same basic formula. The movie Memento (2000), directed by Christopher Nolan, follows
Leonard Shelby, the main character with short term memory loss, trying to avenge his fallen spouse.
He only remembers up until the time his head was bashed into a mirror after his spouse was sexually
assaulted. The movie is told in a unique way through two stories that do not make complete sense until
the end. Memento s unconventional narrative structure puts the audience into Leonard s shoes, which
is apparent in the movie s convoluted flashbacks, out of sequence story, and bleak ending.
One of the most conventional uses of a flashback is to give the viewer some answers through back
story. In Memento, the audience is getting information thrown at them, but it is confusing and
mysterious. It invites the viewer to ask more questions rather than answer questions. Nolan does this
intentionally, so that the audience relates to Leonard s jumbled life. Roger Ebert, a well known film
reviewer, wrote One striking element of the film is a series of flashbacks that illuminate, or confuse,

The War Of The Persian War
In Ancient Greece there were many famous wars and conquerors, in every era. These wars were all
recorded in early history and lasted a couple of years. The only one that was not, or is thought to be
made up, is the Trojan War. The only things they can go off of are the stories and the ruins of the city
of Troy. Another famous war was the Persian wars. This war was the first big war between the persian
empire and Spartans/Athens. After the Persian war, the Peloponnesian war took place, which was led
by sparta. Than in Ancient Greece there were two main conquerors, Philip II and Alexander. As they
are father and son, Philip II did a lot less than his son Alexander. Alexander wanted to fulfill his father
s visions, which he exceeded his expectations. The trojan war took place in 1250 B.C.E. As this war
has little evidence that it happened, it was passed down through many generations that this war took
place. Many stories have the war happening in the city of Troy. Two famous poets wrote about this
war, Homer and Sophocles, which wrote the Iliad Odyssey. These poems are part of evidence that this
war took place. One of the stories has a Wooden Horse as a gift to the Trojans, and when the horse
was in the city the Spartans invaded Troy. This war was to believe to be started by the kidnapping of
the Spartan Queen, Helen, by the Trojan prince, Paris. This ended with the Greeks winning and in
some stories, the death of the Trojan prince. The Persian war lasted from 499 B.C.E

Those drafted and taken away from their family have seen the damaging, atrocious side of war. Conversely, the admiral, valuable side has been seen by the Koreans, now allowed to have the right of freedom. Many of the world has their own personal opinion about war. In 1920, Sara Teasdale told the world her opinion by the publishing of her twelve line poem, There Will Come Soft Rains. In only the few stanzas, Teasdale described a post war land, where all humans have perished. Teasdale writes, robins will wear their feathery fire (5) and this example of personification is probably the most important because, evidently, the phrase also contains imagery making it more impactful. Otherwise, when concentrating on the use of personification, without the humans to wear the clothes around the world. So stating that robins will wear something, just tends to the setting of a world with the disease of all humans. And spring herself, when she woke at dawn (11) is an important use of personification used by the poet. Spring is an unanitmit and intangible object that does have the ability to wake, nevertheless, humans can no longer wake in There Will Come Soft Rains. Through the poem much personification happens, but one of the first is, And Frogs in the pools singing at night (3). Accordingly, only humans can sign, yet Teasdale had the frogs signing to prove, even farther, the fact that without humans on the earth, not everything would change. A use of personification can really impact a poem, and Teasdale s use of personification didn t only impact the poem but brought a lot of irony and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As of current, there is a lack of viable in vitro models that accurately model ovarian cancer tumor metastasis and growth. The purpose of this research is to develop a viable 3D hydrogel that enables the ovarian cancer cell environment to be effectively modeled in vitro. The goal is to develop a 3D hydrogel scaffold that properly models the mechanical, physical, and chemical properties of the in vivo environment. These properties include but are not limited to: vascularization, cell migration, cytokine signaling, metastasis, and chemosensitivity of cancer cells. By adequately modeling ovarian cancer metastasis in vitro, the proposed scaffold will allow for more precise screening of drug efficacy prior to usage in in vivo studies. To quantify whether or not the model is accurate, mechanical, cytokine signaling, and drug efficacy tests will be carried out and evaluated to determine if the proposed 3D hydrogel scaffold is suitable as a viable in vitro representation of ovarian cancer cell environment. Thus, in the long term, this 3D hydrogel scaffold can be used in personalized medicine and can determine the drug efficacy on a patient s own cancer cells as a precursor to chemotherapy treatment. • 10. The Supreme Court Case Of Buck Vs. Bell Buck vs. Bell The Supreme Court case of Buck v. Bell in 1997 is a lawsuit in which the U.S. Supreme Court upheld a Virginia law that offered the eugenic sterilization for individuals regarded genetically unfit. The Supreme Court s decision to uphold Virginia s statute regarding sterilization provided the basis for enactment of similar laws across the United States and subsequent sterilization of 65,000 Americans without their approval or that of their family members. Notably, the ruling of this case was based on the concept of feeblemindedness, which is no longer applicable in medical terminology. Actually, this case primarily involved state enforced eugenic sterilization for individuals considered feebleminded or genetically substandard in certain ways. The case provides considerable insights concerning eugenics and enforced sterilization in the United States and significant concerns on whether genetics should be used for any king of legal decision. Case Summary As previously mentioned, the Supreme Court case of Buck vs. Bell in 1927 was a lawsuit that entailed state enforced eugenic sterilization for individuals regarded feebleminded or somehow genetically substandard. Carrie Buck, the plaintiff, together with her mother had been devoted to the Virginia Colony of Epileptics and Feeble Minded in Virginia (Eugenics Archive, n.d.). • 11. David Foster Wallace Consider The Lobster Summary Is it morally right to boil a lobster alive for culinary enjoyment? David Foster Wallace displays his confusion on this subject in his informative essay titled Consider the Lobster. . He informs you about the famed Maine Lobster Festival, where more than 25,000 pounds of fresh caught lobster is prepared and consumed. He then goes into detail about the debate on the morality of such an event. There are a lot of questions raised in this essay, and the lobster is the focus of all of them. Wallace asks people to investigate their own feelings when he asks them to consider how comfortable it is for people to boil lobsters alive, how much pain the lobster is in when it is being prepared, and what it is like to be in the shoes of this crustacean. The purpose of this essay was to inform the people and get them to consider the integrity of our most common cooking method when it comes to the lobster. First of all, the experience of boiling a creature alive tends to feel quite uncomfortable for a lot of people, and there s no avoiding that. Wallace says that it s not just that lobsters get boiled alive, it s that you do it yourself or at least it s done specifically for you, on site (703). This tends to feel almost selfish due to the fact that the animal is suffering for your enjoyment. To make matters worse, the intimacy of this process is at a maximum when performed in your own home. • 12. The Ten Commandments Vs. Native American Religion The Ten Commandments to some may not be important but to the Christian and Native American religion it plays a key role in their beliefs as beings on the earth. They both believe in a greater god, and being honest, but also differ in how the rules are written. For example, the Native American Commandments say to be honest, while the Christian Commandments states, thou shalt not lie. With all the different religions in the world, these two have found themselves relatable. Though they are similar, the Christian Commandments seem to be much stricter. In the rules, God states that you should not covet your neighbor s wife, and belongings. That s two more points about jealousy than the Native American rules. One would say that the Christian set of rules focuses more on the negative and what you shouldn t do, while the Native American set focuses mostly on how to improve the earth and oneself. Animals and the Earth are very important to the Native American culture. In the creation story, it states that a giant sea turtle rose up out of the water... These are the questions that the two essays from Stephen Jay Gould and Friedrich Nietzsche ask and attempt to answer. Stephen Jay Gould was a well known professor of geology, zoology and curator of invertebrate paleontology in the Museum of Comparative Zoology at Harvard University. Gould feels that animals are too complex to be compared to humans and deciding what is good and evil. Friedrich Nietzsche was one of the most influential German philosophers. Nietzsche feels as though God is dead and the commitment to religion is contradicting instincts of nature. In Stephen Jay Gould s essay Nonmoral Nature he feels that human beings should not be compared to animals when it comes to morality. Charles Darwin was an English naturalist trained as a minister, which Stephen Jay Gould mentions in his teachings. Charles Darwin famously known for his theory of branching pattern of evolution did not see conflict between his theories and religious beliefs. Gould feels that just like Darwin humans should separate that of scientific fact from religious beliefs and morals. Saul basically grew up with no role models to guide him in his life and his parents and grandmother died when he was a young boy. Saul quickly had to adapt to these changes and began working to support himself. When Saul began working at a young age he did not understand why the shadows or white people saw him as inferior. The narrator states, At the age of fifteen Saul knew that the life he was living was to be his lot, that there no way to rid himself of his plaguing sense of unreality, no way to relax and forget (187). It was extremely depressing to me that Saul knew at the age of fifteen that this was the reality of the rest of his life. The Importance Of Kneeling The Oxford English Dictionary defines the word, kneeling as, The action of kneel v.; a falling down, or remaining, on the knees in worship, submission, etc.; in quot. 1631, advancing on the knees; formerly often with pl., a genuflexion. This definition shows kneeling in a very respectful and submissive manner. Kneeling, throughout centuries, has been used in many different churches, in beautiful ceremonies, and even when one is going to propose. Kneeling is a symbol of great honor and high respect for the one that you may be kneeling for. In the Catholic church, during prayer and during worship, everyone kneels on the kneeling bar provided, and bows their heads, as a sign of respect and animosity for their God. While being knighted, the knights kneel down in front of the king or queen in respect for their lineage and in respect for their position or possible friendship. While proposing to the one someone is in love with, it is customary to kneel on one knee and ask the question, this is seen a sign of submission and it is also seen as a loving gesture. Oddly enough, ever since Colin Kaepernick, who played for the San Francisco 49ers, took a knee during the National Anthem, to spread awareness of the Black Lives Matter movement, kneeling has all of a sudden started to become seen as uncivil, hateful, and plain rude. • 34. Incident Command System Analysis The utilization of the Incident Command System (ICS) in the United States may at first glance appear to be an overwhelming, and complicated system of hazard management. On the contrary, for most responders with military, law enforcement, or fire service background, ICS closely conforms to the principles of command structure with which they are familiar. Applying strict command structure, along with standardized response training leads to higher probabilities of successful outcomes in the face of the most chaotic emergencies. Large scale emergency responses like 9/11 are repeatedly critiqued, often from afar, sometimes correctly, but sometimes unfairly. Training of individual responders in the use of PPE, hazardous material recognition, shielding tactics, or establishing an immediate perimeter can often increase survivability and mission success. The use of two man tactics to offensively isolate a terrorist, instead of waiting for a larger tactical unit response can be effective in limiting the scope of violent attacks. The use of technologies including: video surveillance, explosive detection, infrared viewing, thermal imaging, drones, and robotics are examples of advantageous equipment that when used correctly can positively alter response ability. The use of cross training of responder disciplines, such as police receiving fire or ems training will lead to more capabilities and understanding by those first on scene. Approximately half of individuals that work in law enforcement, fire, rescue, emergency medical, and related fields hold a second job in a similar emergency response agency (Newman, and Clark, 2008). Every possible advantage should be examined as first responders prepare for handling a terrorist situation, especially if the initial immediate response is limited in scope. • 35. Aristophanes Voices Concerns for Ancient Greek Culture in... Aristophanes was not a proponent of the majority of Athenian culture, as well as other aspects of Greek life as whole. He despised the political, educational, and societal views that remained persistent throughout Athens. While his plays may be comedies, he uses them in an assortment of ways. His plays are used to demonstrate a purpose far beyond that of entertainment. He uses his writing for voicing the problems that lie in Ancient culture. But the whole time this is going on, Dikaiopolis is mocking them. He is insulting them because of how foolish they really are. Dikaiopolis doesn t understand why they want to fight so much. He takes every opportunity to advocate their stupidity by comically refuting their actions toward him and his family. Dikaiopolis says, Comedy too can sometimes discern what is right. I shall not please, but I shall say what is true, (The Acharnians, lines 500 501). • 37. Analysis of quot;Blood Wedding quot; Essay Federico Garcia Lorca s three plays, Blood Wedding, Yerma, and The House of Bernarda Alba share many symbolisms. Lorca (Short Biography) wrote about many subjects and objects that often have an unconscious double meaning. These unconscious symbols are known as archetypes, developed by the psychologist, Carl G. Jung. This paper will analyze these symbols using Jung s theory of the archetype. By doing so, the analysis will better explain some of the unconscious meaning and original thoughts behind Lorca s symbols. This is important because a detailed reading will allow the reader to clearly understand each symbol and why it is important to the society in the play, and to Lorca s society. To begin, Jung explains that an archetype is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since archetypes are the formulation of the results of countless experiences of our ancestors, it is possible for the archetype to cross section all experiences. This basically means that one object can symbolize the same thing in different events or experiences. Archetypal images are objects that allude to the instincts of man. The archetypes are the manifestations of the instincts, that is to say, creative impulses from the unconscious, (Goldrunner 107). An archetype always expresses a comparison. If someone talks about a tree and identifies it as the basis of life, it is neither one of these things, but actually a third unknown thing that can find a happy medium expression within the first two. The archetype will never let us forget the psychology of the past. It inspires our natural instincts, behavior, and thought. The importance of these instincts is immeasurable within literature that focuses on the injustices of society and its civilized culture. The repression of these instincts has allowed modern society to dictate how individuals should live. This is why the importance of symbols in literature usually has an archetypal background. Society has suppressed our natural thought to the extent that it can only be expressed within the symbolism of literature. In Lorca s Blood Wedding, blood has many significant symbolisms structured throughout the play. Blood is repeatedly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Narrative Structure Of Memento Time can be a thinker s most thought provoking yet infuriating concept to grasp. Infinitely complex, time plays a crucial role in everyone s life. We do not know much about it, other than that it is there. What is before time or after time? Most movies move through a linear fashion. There is a beginning, middle, and end. Narrative structure can slightly be bended or modified, but for the most part it follows the same basic formula. The movie Memento (2000), directed by Christopher Nolan, follows Leonard Shelby, the main character with short term memory loss, trying to avenge his fallen spouse. He only remembers up until the time his head was bashed into a mirror after his spouse was sexually assaulted. The movie is told in a unique way through two stories that do not make complete sense until the end. Memento s unconventional narrative structure puts the audience into Leonard s shoes, which is apparent in the movie s convoluted flashbacks, out of sequence story, and bleak ending. One of the most conventional uses of a flashback is to give the viewer some answers through back story. In Memento, the audience is getting information thrown at them, but it is confusing and mysterious. It invites the viewer to ask more questions rather than answer questions. Nolan does this intentionally, so that the audience relates to Leonard s jumbled life. Roger Ebert, a well known film reviewer, wrote One striking element of the film is a series of flashbacks that illuminate, or confuse, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

After the Persian war, the Peloponnesian war took place, which was led by sparta. Than in Ancient Greece there were two main conquerors, Philip II and Alexander. As they are father and son, Philip II did a lot less than his son Alexander. Alexander wanted to fulfill his father s visions, which he exceeded his expectations. The trojan war took place in 1250 B.C.E. As this war has little evidence that it happened, it was passed down through many generations that this war took place. Many stories have the war happening in the city of Troy. Two famous poets wrote about this war, Homer and Sophocles, which wrote the Iliad Odyssey. These poems are part of evidence that this war took place. One of the stories has a Wooden Horse as a gift to the Trojans, and when the horse was in the city the Spartans invaded Troy. This war was to believe to be started by the kidnapping of the Spartan Queen, Helen, by the Trojan prince, Paris. This ended with the Greeks winning and in some stories, the death of the Trojan prince. The Persian war lasted from 499 B.C.E ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
