Goosebupse Research Papers
Goosebumps is the newest addition to the children s books created into a movie series. This 2015 film
was directed by Rob Letterman, starring Jack Black, Dylan, Minnette, and Odeya Rush. As monsters
come out of books, this horror comedy takes it s audience on an action packed adventure. Just as the
audience of a book reads between the lines, the audience of a movie uses photography effects to
further understand the meaning. Many elements of photography are used to add effect to the events
throughout Goosebumps. A teenage boy, Minnette, moves to a small town that is much different than
his previous big city. Unhappy about the move, Minnette s character finds a bit of happiness in
meeting his neighbor, a beautiful teenage girl. A surprise comes when Minnette s character, Zach,
finds out his neighbor Hannah, played by Rush, is fathered by the well known author R.L. Stine. After
Zach found his way into Hannah s house he opens some of Stine s Goosebumps books and unleashes
the monsters into the world. Zach, Hannah, and Stine come together to fight off the monsters and get
them back into their books while keeping the town safe. Photography was first present, right away in
the opening scene. Two voices come from a car, with a moving trailer on the back, driving down an
open road. The camera shoots from an extreme long shot to show ... Show more content on

One of the most noticeable elements is the use of bright colors. The film had only used them
previously for the first couple opening scenes because the film was cheerful and happy. Rack focusing
was used to blur the surroundings of the high school while only staying focused on Hannah and Zach.
This was done so the audiences eyes were to follow the two main characters because they are all that
matters in the scene. Lyricism was used in this scene for the emotional intensity between characters.
The last scene was all about love and using lyrical style helped to emphasize the

Uganda s Anti-gay Laws Essay
There has been an increase of gays all over the world in the last few generations. Some countries have
become accepting to it, but others are not having any of it and Uganda, a country in East Africa, is one
of them. Uganda has passed severe laws for an anti gay country. Some laws as severe as life in prison
or death sentence. The U.S. should step in and act as an International police force before things get too
out of hand because nobody should be put to death or spend lifetime in prison for being who they are.
Uganda began to see gay rights as a problem. Yoweri Museveni, the president of Uganda, is disgusted
with the outbreak of homosexuality in his country and he wants LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual,
transgender) extinguished. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Without the involvement of the American Evangelicals things maybe could ve been different. Roger
Ross Williams said, The Anti Homosexuality Bill would never have come about without the
involvement of the American Fundamental Evangelicals (Walker 30). Ever since the Anti
Homosexuality Bill was on the agenda, Ugandan LGBT have been living in constant fear of discovery
and prosecution ( Persecuted 4). A man named David Kato was a gay living in Uganda. He was beaten
with a hammer and died because he was gay. He was also involved in a Rolling Stones Magazine
article. There was a picture of Kato and two other gay man with a banner on top that said, Hang Them,
which was use as a statement to hang ALL the gays of Uganda. David Kato believed there were two
different ways to react to being gay. One way was to be as secretive about it as possible. Or the other
way was to be not ashamed of it. Kato was proud to be gay even though it was risky, especially in the
country of Uganda with all the new Anti Homosexuality Bills. Kato televised a press conference to
start the push for gay rights in his own country ( Gay 96). After Kato had tried to push for gay rights
he had been suffered beatings by police and people of Uganda and has been arrested at least three
times. Some Christian pastors that toured around Uganda s towns said Kato was a dog, a pig,
possessed by the devils ( Gay 96). At

Unreliable Narrator s Mind
How ill, and mentally unstable can a mind get? Edgar Allan Poe wrote a story about the narrator
killing another man because of his eye. The narrator was not seeking revenge, but was vexed by the
old man s eye. To him, it was an eye of a vulture . It infuriates him, and he is going to do something
about it. A week before killing the old man, he saw a psychologist. The psychologist said that the
narrator s mind is mentally unstable. He has been prescribed many kinds of medicine, and is
recommended to go to a mental institution. The narrator didn t go to a mental institution. His mind
was set on killing the old man. The narrator will not take responsibility for his crimes. This is because
he is an unreliable narrator, which means a narrator

A Comparison Between Advertising Agencies’ and Pr...
A comparison between advertising agencies and PR agencies internationalization motives and entry
modes Eight cases from Sweden
1. Abstract
The firm internationalization literature is extensive, but dominated by studies of technical, often large,
firms. The service firm internationalization literature is slowly growing. Few international
contributions are found investigating the advertising industry and no such studies focus on the
Swedish market. The PR industry has been internationally neglected. This study investigates four
advertising agencies and four PR agencies in the Swedish market. The eight case agencies confirm
traditional internationalization motives, but also new motives are found, such as the foreign ... Show

Lastly, these authors used quantitative research method, which generally limits the freedom of the
respondents in answering questions. The Public Relations, PR, industry has been internationally
neglected. A possible explanation to this neglect is that this industry has been assumed to be the same
as the advertising industry. The gap in research should by now be evident! Despite a growing body of
service literature, the internationalization of the advertising industry and the Public Relations industry
in Sweden has remained unchartered territories for research. The internationalization motives and the
entry modes for the advertising industry in USA are somewhat known, but the PR industry is
neglected internationally. The link between motives and entry modes in the advertising industry is
blurry even from an international perspective and the latest contribution was released in year 1990.
Furthermore, it is unclear what importance the concept of psychic distance (Johanson and Vahlne
1977; Johanson and Wiedersheim Paul 1975) has for the international expansion in these industries
and if and how business contacts

enables these industries to internationalize (Johanson and Mattsson 1988). Additionally, there is no
recent research focusing on these industries after the globalization of services and the enhanced
importance of services in the World and in Sweden. Finally, a case study approach has not been
conducted yet in this matter. The Dissertation

Holes By Louis Sachar Essay
HOLES EXTENDED RESPONSE
The novel Holes, written by Louis Sachar, demonstrates how the protagonist Stanley Caveman
Yelnats, overcame problems and filled holes in his life at Camp Green lake which weren t there after
he left the juvenile centre.. Stanley had a few holes in his life such as not having a great physical
image, having a lack of confidence and not being strong enough. One feature which rapidly improved
and changed in Stanley s life during his course at Camp Green Lake was the aspect of being
overweight to becoming confident in his physique. Another wodge in his life was having no friends at
school. Stanley s hard work made himself fitter and better in the physical image as well as making
great friendships with group D members. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He thought Derrick wouldn t stand a chance against them. Stanley started to gain friendship with his
group mates soon. One special moment where Stanley did discover his friend relationship with
someone was when he was caught with sunflower seeds in his hole by Mr. Sir. This did start his talk
with Mr. Sir about this foundation of sunflower seeds randomly in a hole. Magnet then thought that
Stanley was his friend . This was a good start for Stanley as he at least gained a friendship between
him and Magnet. Zero and Stanley became very close friends especially after their meeting in the
desert following after they both had escaped Camp green lake. Stanley and Zero made a deal that
Stanley would teach Zero hot to read and write while zero would help in digging holes for Stanley.
This was the next step to their good relationship. then Stanley even taught Zero how to read and write
and they both had talks about their life. Stanley s own decisions are the ones who made him good
friends with others group members such as if he had not gone in the desert to look for zero, he might
not have met Zero again in his life and most likely would ve lost his

I Am Not A Boxer, And I Don t Battle Anybody
The individual I chose for my exposition is Muhammad Ali, and before you inquire! I am not a boxer,
and I don t battle anybody, in any case it interests me seeing such character which was not just one of
the best competitors of all time, he was also the front cover of Times magazines 4 times ever, could
take 100 thousand fans to a football stadium to watch a boxing match, but on the other hand was
conflicted as the twentieth century that helped shape and by whom was shaped. I appreciate such
characters, which can surpass all life troublesome and change history.
It was a hot and crispy morning in Arizona when one of the greatest legends of sports died after
fighting respiratory problems and Parkinson disease for over 30 years. If I could ask this one question
to Ali: Who are you? I am sure this would be his answer:
I am Muhammad Ali the greatest of the greatest... For many people this could be called exaggeration,
an excess of confidence, among other things, to me it could be simply summarized in one term Grit.
Born in Louisville, Kentucky in 1942, he had every one of the fixings to end up only a customary
individual. His house was not the most amicable environment for an African American individual
amid that time encountering childhood in the confined South, he experienced racial bias and partition
firsthand. Experiencing childhood in a low pay neighborhood was challenging, for example, when his
bicycle got stolen at 12 years old, Ali as of now showed early indications of

Julius Caesar Assassination
There are various explanations, documents, and excerpts claiming that the information they have on
who Julius Caesar was and the events that led to his assassination are correct. I will be explaining
Caesars character as portrayed differently in the three documents considered to be primary sources
written after his death and the way our textbook portrays him. In the passages he was depicted to be a
selfish dictator. The Assassination of Julius Caesar, 44 BC, describes the events chronologically of
what led to his attack. This article explains the four different proposals to assassinate Caesar. The plan
that was thought out to be the most efficient was to kill him as he sat in the senate, because no one
other than Senators were allowed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In The Assassination of Julius Caesar, 44 BC, and Suetonius on the Death of Caesar, Caesar was
described as a selfish dictator who wanted to rule every empire and disregarded tradition. In the
excerpt by Marcus Brutus, Plutarch: The Assassination of Julius Caesar, the events leading to Caesar s
death and what the people around him planned very carefully is the only thing that was talked about;
there was no point of view from the author about Caesar s character. On the other hand, in the
textbook Making of the West, Volume I: To 1750, 4th Edition , Caesar was this ruler who sympathized
and was merciful towards his enemy. He wanted to rule all of Rome and manipulated everybody to
keep him as a ruler, but monarchy was against tradition. His untimely demise came from the hands of
some of those he trusted the most, those who believed to be protecting the same empire he fought his
entire life to fortify. One cannot help but to think that, ignoring the warnings of the priests, his friends
and wife made him an unwilling participant in his own death. Although the passages portrait him as a
selfish dictator there is a small contradiction in between them when it comes to the final moments,
according to The Assassination of Julius Caesar, 44 BC he fell to the ground saying nothing more than
a grunt and took his last breath and in

Compare And Contrast Macbeth And Jocasta
In both Oedipus the King and Macbeth, Shakespeare and Sophocles demonstrate how Jocasta and
Lady Macbeth are very similar and at the same time very different. After Jocasta and Lady Macbeth
heard their husbands prophecies, their lives were changed. Jocasta and Lady Macbeth both take action
and both kill themselves as a consequence. What differentiates these women is the motives behind
their actions.
Although Jocasta does not believe in oracles or prophecies, she does act against them, then, later on,
tries to convince Oedipus that prophecies mean nothing. In the other hand, Lady Macbeth believes in
prophecies and acts to make it a reality by convincing her husband, Macbeth, to kill so that he might
become king faster. Both women commit horrible ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lady Macbeth says, yet do I fear thy nature, it is too full o th milk of human kindness (1.5.15 16).
Here she uses the expression full [of the] milk , meaning she believed he was too innocent, righteous
and fearful to do evil. She infantilizes Macbeth, by doubting his capacity to act, and depicting him as a
baby full of milk . She says to herself, That I might pour my spirits in thine ear, and chastise with the
valour of my tongue all that impedes thee from the golden round (1.5.23 250). Since she thought
Macbeth was not capable of committing a crime, she acted as his guidance and corrupts him by
motivating him to kill. she had to give him the courage he needed in order to kill the king. She talks
him into it and dismisses all the thoughts that stopped him from being crowned. She also helps
Macbeth physically by drugging the guards, taking back the daggers Macbeth was supposed to leave
behind and smearing the guards with blood. She tells Macbeth, my hands are of your colour... (2.2.63).

Amygdala Case Study
Hi Nancy,
I really enjoyed your take on this week s discussion post and how you approached it primarily from
the emotional and biological perspective. As you mentioned, any damage to amygdala can cause a
variety of symptoms, but primarily, the individual will experience an impaired ability to practice
and/or identify both fear and negative emotions. Individuals with traumatic brain injuries involving
the amygdala react differently to various stimuli, mainly due the numerous factors involved in the way
that the amygdala responds based on both the location and the level of brain damage sustained. In
some, conditions like Kluver Bucy Syndrome can appear, where the individual has trouble
understanding visual information such as mood or facial expressions ... Show more content on

For instance, in one study where the brain functioning of 41 murderers were evaluated, researchers
found that the amygdala had weaker activity in the left hemisphere of their brain than they did on their
right. In other words, poor functioning in some areas indicates an inability to learn from experience, as
well as an emotional load that outweighs the ability of the left hemisphere to regulate it (Ramsland,
K.M., 2005, p. 70). Damage to this area of the brain can obviously create behavioral manifestations as
well, including anger, rage, and inability to react properly to the surrounding environment. Also, in
other research noted by Berry Dee (2007), the limbic system can either reward or punish the brain and
if areas of the limbic system are damaged, such as the amygdala itself, and these individuals can also
exhibit indiscriminate sexual behaviors. I think the biggest piece of information I gained from this
week topic is that a variety of responses can come from injury to the amygdala, and given its ability to
disrupt recognition of certain emotional behaviors, there is certainly a concern that individuals can
either be a danger to themselves (by not being able to detect danger or emotions of others in their
environment) or by being a danger to others (as is the case with the findings associated with amygdala
dysfunctions in serial

Melancholia Depression
Melancholia: Depression on Film Melancholia is defined as a mental condition characterized by
extreme depression, bodily complaints, and often hallucinations and delusions. Lars von Trier wrote
the film during his own episode of severe depression, and noted the tendency of the depressed to
remain peaceful during catastrophic events. To reflect this detached sense of reality, Lars Von Trier
rejected his rigidly realistic Dogma 95 principles for a dreamlike aesthetic that represents the
depressed mind of the main character Justine (played by Kirsten Dunst). He splits the film into two
parts with each part named after one of the main characters. Part one is named after Justine and takes
place during the night of her wedding reception. Justine ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most graphic allusion is when Justine, in her wedding dress and with a bouquet of flowers, is
floating lifeless down a stream of water. This is a recreation of John Everett Millais painting entitled
Ophelia. Ophelia, a character from Shakespeare s Hamlet, is perhaps the most famous depressive in all
of literature. Justine embodies this image of being trapped and detached from loved ones, through her
emotionless and dead eyed expressions. Justine and Claire both try to escape during the film but they
both fail; therefore, they are literally trapped on the mansion property, which gives an increasing sense
of hopelessness and dread. Richard Wagner s song, Prelude to Triston and Isolde, is played as a
haunting refrain throughout the film. The song mixes depression with beauty and desire, like how the
beautiful aesthetic of the film mixes with the hopelessness on screen. I appreciate that Lars von Trier
rejects end of the world movie clichés, and instead shows something deeper and more poetic. The end
of the world is experienced through the broken Justine and Claire, and not shown through massive
destructions of major cities and mass hysteria. The end of the world is a fiercely intimate and
unescaping event, instead of a time filled with last minute hook ups and hedonistic bucket lists. It is
interesting to watch how Justine and Claire react to the knowledge of their impending

Network And Computer Systems Become Universal And Exposed,...
INTRODUCTION As networks and computer systems become universal and exposed, security threats
and risks continue to grow more rapidly. This causes enormous threats; therefore, Security specialists
and experts are continuously trying to find solutions for these kinds of threats through different
methods like attack signatures and looking for methods to prevent them. Nevertheless, as solutions are
formed, new types of threats emerge, for example spam mails, spywares, worms and Trojans just to
mention a few.
A growing program problem in our technologically advanced society is the increase in security related
issues for small to medium industries (infosec reading room, n.d.).The digital age has also appeared
with a variation of benefits to organization such as Just Love and individuals. Information
technologies are becoming more broadly used every day. As networks and computer systems become
more pervasive, security threats and risks continue to grow more rapidly, therefore transferring data
from paper and pen environments to computer systems does not always happen. Increasing
complication and sophistication of the ever growing information technologies has prompted unique
and unparalleled challenges for organizations such as mine to protect their information assets. The
Internet is such a marvel that an organization today cannot operate without it, but on the other hand
too, living with the Internet also opens the organization to threats like viruses, hackers and internet

Vatican Council Research Paper
The II Vatican council was held in rome from 1962 1965. Vatican Council II was an ecomunal or
global council that is the meeting of all the Catholic bishops from all around the world which dealt
with certain issues facing the Catholic Church. Major issues that took place during the era of the
Vatican Council II was that the church was powerful and was taking to much money from people.
Because of changes in culture due to modernism it was decided that the church needed to update its
procedures to become more relevant and accessible to modern people. As Pope John XXIII said, the
church needed to open the windows and let in some fresh air.
Pope John XXIII named Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli was the head of the Catholic church from 1958 to
1963 and sovereign of the Vatican city state, he was born on the 25th of October,1818 in Sotto il

The Long Days And Nights On The Bus With Mr. Donald Trump
The long days and nights on the bus with Mr. Donald Trump, it grew older and older place after place;
Trump will not even let me drink after a hard day s work because his brother died of alcohol
poisoning. Some days people think he is a joke and do not take him serious because of his 19 point
plan for Presidency. To inform you all, Trump is in it for the long haul and he has the money and
resources to stick to it out till he wins the presidential candidacy. One of the primary reasons he is
running is because he is scared where our government is taking American people. Everyday I stress
the importance of chapters of the novel Hardball written by Chris Matthews. Some of the chapters are
prime learning tools, they help each politician take it to the next level and become a prime politician.
Every morning I make Trump a coffee, two sugars and one cream, help him adjust his tie, and give
him some prime advice for the day as he drinks his coffee over breakfast. I start out by saying It s not
who you know, it s about how you get to know the people. When I say this to Trump each morning it
reminds him about the power one can have on another through a conversation or a relationship, in
other words the Johnson Treatment. Lyndon B. Johnson was known for getting in people s faces and

Although some of the rumors that caused the Sepoy Rebellion may not have been true, the belief that
the British were trying to modify Indian culture caused the Sepoy Rebellion. The sepoys felt that their
religion was being severely disrespected their religions. Sir Colin Campbell, the leader of the British
forces during the Sepoy Rebellion said that Injudicious attempts to convert Sepoys to Christianity
[were] made, and [the Sepoys believed] that they were to be converted by compulsion. . . . The sepoys

Dr. Joseph Coohill, a modern historian stated that Lord Dalhousie, Governor General of India,
introduced the so called Doctrine of Lapse, a policy which allowed the British East India Company to
extend its control into Indian territory when a native ruler died.... Forcing Indians to have British
rulers could have sowed discord between the British and sepoys. Coohill does not seem to have any
ulterior motives, and even wrote an article in History Today called Indian Voices from the 1857
Rebellion , which presumably means he is sympathetic towards the sepoys. This could potentially
affect his point of view, but it doesn t appear to Sayyid Ahmed Khan, a Muslim scholar and noble who
was initially loyal to the British, and then went on to blame British policies and mistakes for the Sepoy
Rebellion, recalled that The evils which resulted to India from the non admission of natives into the

had no share in the framing of it. At length the Hindustanis fell into the habit of thinking that all the

felt with their ruler who did not represent them, but instead represented England. This frustration
seemed to build up until the Sepoy Rebellion.. Khan s initial support of the British could be because of
his high status, but paints a good picture of the distrust between the Indians and the British. When the
Sepoy Rebellion happened, there was an attempt to make the last remaining Mughal Empire leader to
be in control of all of India. This showed that Indians did not want to be ruled by the British, but
instead wanted to be ruled by their own

Utilitarianism, Virtue And Care Ethics
The three ethical theories I will discuss from Chapter 1 include: utilitarianism, virtue and care ethics.
First, the utilitarianism is moral standard and a theory of action by humans that are morally right in
action. Utilitarianism is an action that is morally right if its consequences are more favorable. One
way for businesses , as our reading suggests (Fieser Moseley, 2012), is make a list of all the good and
bad for any particular act. If the good outweighs the bad then that action should occur. If the bad
outweighs the good, then the action should stop. Utilitarianism theory attempts to keep things on the
positive, happier side of the spectrum. A company using this theory is probably functioning well due
to their morale analysis of actions related to safe products, good quality products and customer care, a
fair price, and fair and equal treatment to their employees. In addition, because utilitarianism is a
morale standard, a company would be environmentally conscious and find ways to help the
community and the world. A company would work at making their products in an environmentally
safe way, recycle surplus and make their products within the United States to support the economy. A
company would also look at balancing goods over harm produced to the environment or people.
Lastly, if a company were to be very successful, they should donate some of their proceeds back into
the community (environmentally or local community support) or employees (bonuses,

failure to have an inaccurate report corrected. This claim fails because there is no rights to have the

Options for Biological Terrorism Attacks and...
Bioterrorism is not a distant threat that may concern us twenty years from now. It has occurred
throughout history and continues to this day. As recently as 1996, a man from Ohio with connections
to an extremist group was able to obtain Bubonic Plague cultures through the US Postal Service
(Danzig Berkowsky, 1997). In the last month, several people within the United States have become
infected with anthrax. As we stand right now, America is unprepared for a large scale attack with
biological weapons, and as we continue with our War on Terrorism, the likelihood of such an attack is
increasing every day. Terrorists can use three major methods to most effectively distribute a biological
agent in the US: 1) air dispersal to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Several methods have been suggested for the massive airborne release of biological agents. Crop
dusters, the most likely, are designed to release high concentrations of pesticides over large areas. This
form of pesticide distribution exactly parallels the optimal methods for dispersal of a harmful
biological agent. Stationary sprayers have also been implicated as a potential source of biological
attack and could include backpack sprayers, agricultural sprayers, or even perfume atomizers (Danzig
Berkowsky, 1997). Airborne schemes of distribution are virtually uncontrollable by government
agencies. Crop dusters are available to anyone with a pilot s license and backpack sprayers can be
found in most hardware stores. The consequence of the recent anthrax attacks through the US Postal
service pale in comparison to the potential consequences of such an airborne attack.
Although anthrax is not contagious, there are numerous potential airborne agents that are. Once a
contagious infecting agent, such as smallpox or the plague, enters a population, it can spread very
quickly from one person to the next. With the speed and popularity of air travel, an infection can

Social Media And Traditional Media
Traditional media has failed to live up to its fourth estate role. This has lead us to the question, can the
more modern, social media, make up for the lack of success that traditional media has had in fulfilling
this watchdog role for the people? Kemp s rules of CIDRA1 apply to social media as they do with
traditional media. Thus, we must determine what, if any, obstacles are present in preventing social
media from completing this role. More specifically, do the five filters that Chomsky highlights apply
to social media as they do to traditional media? Or does the fundamental structure of social media
allow for it to accomplish a fifth estate role? I argue that social media is more effective at playing a
watchdog role than traditional media. Social media is built on a platform that has the interest of
working for the people in terms of freedom of distributing ideas and checking elite power in liberal
democracies. Furthermore, ...traditional media formats are no longer the only politically relevant
forms of media (Metzgar, Maruggi, 2009, p. 149). The reason that social media can have higher
success in acting as a watchdog role stems from one central theme: when it comes to social media, less
of Chomsky s filters lie between the person wanting to distribute an idea and the ability to have this
idea delivered to the public.
We must understand the foundation of social media, and determine if it can meet the standards brought
by Kemp. This, along with determining if Chomsky s

Disadvantages Of Laminated Glass
Global glass industry generates about $75 billion in annual revenue; laminated glass has significant
proportion in it. Despite the increased use of laminated glass(two monolithic layers of glass joined
with an elastomeric interlayer usually PVB to form a unit)as a cladding material for architectural
glazing applications ,as a structural material, material for wind shield, transparent insulating material
for automobiles the mechanical properties and the structural capabilities of PVB laminated glass are
not well known. Laminated glass industry requires more attention and laminated glass have great
potential of improvement. The present paper includes comprehensive review with conclusions and
further suggestions of around two hundred research articles and patents in the science of laminated
glass. The objective of the work include comprehensive understanding of technicalities of `laminated
glass, identify gaps in the literature, find a lack of consistency in reported results across the studies,
flaw in previous research based on its design, data collection instruments, sampling, or interpretation.

Two layers of glass and PVB in between are put together under heat and pressure to make LG.
Interlayer improves mechanical properties such as impact resistance, tensile strength and fracture
toughness of the laminated glass. It also increases the area of impact which increases the impact
resistance as a result. As stated before, interlayer in between keeps together broken pieces that can
possibly cause dangerous incidents or accidents. The LG as a system dampens the energy of impact
improving the brittle structure when compared with monolithic glass structure. LG is mainly used in
automotive industry and structural applications. LG act as a barrier to UV radiation and it also

The Changing Roles Of Women In The 1920 s
Grace Kelly, an American actress, said: Women s natural role is to be a pillar of the family. The roles
of women has been change over the centuries, with the most dramatic changes taking place, Women s

rights to make their life become better in 1900s. There are likeness and differences between the roles
of women today and those past of centuries that changed the roles of women in life.
The Women s Right Movement happened from 1848 to 1998 in the United States (1). The first women

The For Your Child s Winter Essay
You can t miss the nip in the air, and as the year draws to an end, the mercury is going to dip even
further. This also means it s time to pull out all those colourful woollies that have been languishing in
the cupboard, and maybe buy some new ones to stay in sync with the season s trends. Gone are the
days when the over sized woolens came in monotonous and boring winter shades. Now, you can
splurge on colours and watch your child radiate the brightness. Red is big for girls and boys, and the
metallics that lit up the runways in the fall are also gracing kids winter lines.
When choosing woolens for your child, practicality is of utmost importance. But don t overlook the
fashion angle. Kids, these days, are extremely conscious about what they wear. Here are a few winter
must haves for your child.
1. Just jackets
Your child s winter wardrobe would be incomplete without a warm and colourful jacket. Depending
on where you are stationed, you can opt for a quilt lined jacket, a football jacket, a classic denim one
or the contemporary ones that look more like coats. Cotton, Light and medium poly fill jackets are in
fashion these days, with sweat jackets ruling the fashion scene. Jackets, not only provide ample
warmth, but when zipped right up, take care of the entire upper torso without you having to worry
much. Little girls can add a few frills and flowers to their jackets without thinking twice. And if it s
not too cold, they can even go for chic shrugs.

The Arab Spring

Submitted on: November 26, 2014 Discuss the structural factors which contributed to the onset of the
Arab Spring in 2011. Based on what you learned about the origins of revolutions in this class, was this
wave of contention inevitable?
The term Arab Spring has emerged in academic literature as well as in the general media from about
early 2011. It refers to the awakening of some Arab nations and the movements to replace
authoritarian regimes with democratic ones. The theme of spring and awakening seems to have been
borrowed from the 1989 reform movements in the former Eastern block nations, such as in the former
German Democratic Republic or Hungary. However, this comparison has been criticised by some
analysts since both the circumstances which have led to these movements as well as the outcome of
these reform efforts seem to differ quite a lot. Yet, the Arab Spring term seems to be still widely used
and even found an extension in the creation of the term Arab Winter which refers to events that
happened in 2012 in some Arab countries during which these reform movements seemed to have
cooled off and particular nations, such as Egypt, attempted to go back to the status quo of the pre 2011
era.

College Athletes Should Not Be Exempt from Regular Class...
Many college athletes miss classes because of practice, competition and from exhaustion.
For those reasons, supporters argue for exemption of athletes from class attendance policies.
Others argue that college athletes are given scholarships to attend college to play sports. On the
contrary, the focus of colleges is educating students. The question is, should colleges athletes be
exempt from the class attendance requirements? The answer is no and here is why. First, the education
of athletes takes priority over recreational activities. Second, it is unfair for athletes to receive
preferential treatment. Third, exempting athletes from the policies does not allow them to develop
time management skills. For these reasons the college ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After all, athletes are not born they train hard to get their skills and do remarkably on the court. The
philosophy here is athletes must work equally hard in the classroom. (Emma) stated in A College
Perspective on Academic and the Student Athlete.
Coach Athletic Director As more eyes open to the athlete s challenges and struggles, more ideas and
strategies will emerge to help them succeed not only in between the lines of the playing field or court,
but in the lecture halls, science labs, and classrooms as well. Thus, education is a key element that
produces academic achievers, tomorrow s leaders and balance adults. Given these points, the student
athletes must recognize the importance class attendance.
For the longest time it has been known that student athletes often miss classes. Moreover, athlete miss
classes to attend practice, take part in competition and from exhaustion. Also, some athletes are going
to leave college early and enter professional sport. Consequently, they skip classes and slide through
college. Of course, colleges with attendance policies requires students to attend classes a certain

is usually affected. As a matter of fact, it is difficult for them to keep up the grades required for them
to keep the scholarship reward and stay on the team. By the same token, exempting

Hip Hop Chemistry
The Chemistry of Hip Hop Many people don t know that hip hop is deeper than just rapping. Hip hop
consists of many distinctive things. There are different dynamics within hip hop, and they all create a
vibrant and complex sound. For example, hip hop includes the art of djing, emceeing, dance, and

upon because of the misunderstanding of hip hop culture. It has many misconceptions while people
don t see that it does have an actual history that has shaped America. Hip hop was born at a birthday
party in the Bronx in the recreation room of an apartment building at 1520 Sedgwick Avenue. There
was a man who lived there. It was the birthday girl s brother, Clive Campbell, also known to history as
DJ Kool Herc, the founding father of hip hop. DJ Kool Herc was born and raised in Kingston,
Jamaica. He lived there until the age of ten. DJ Kool Herc began djing at parties and between sets, his

If someone doesn t have enough electrolytes in their system then they can t function. Electrolytes are
important because they are what certain cells such as nerve, heart, and muscle use to sustain voltages
across their cell membranes. They are also what cells use to carry electrical impulses, as in nerve
impulses and muscle contractions, across themselves and to other cells. Kidneys work to keep the
electrolyte concentration in blood constant in spite of changes in the body. Again, when exercising, the
body loses most electrolytes in the sweat; sports drinks which contain sodium chloride or potassium
chloride are consumed after the workout to provide the body with the energy it just lost. They also
contain added sugar and flavorings to the drinks to give extra energy and to make the drink taste
better. People also drink other drinks after a workout because they feel that it obtains the energy more
effectively.
Sports drinks are used to receive energy while doing an active, or athletic, event. There are three
popular types of sports drinks: isotonic (average athlete), hypotonic (low perspiration athletes; jockeys
and gymnasts), and hypertonic (long distance runners that need the extra carbohydrates and
electrolytes). Isotonic sports drinks quickly replace fluids lost by sweating and supply a boost of
carbohydrates. Hypotonic sports drinks quickly replace fluid lost. Hypertonic sports drinks
supplement daily carbohydrate

the best R square values and that is why I chose them. This method is a considerable upgrade from all

Behavioral Feeding And Eating Disorders
Introduction
Behavioral feeding and Eating Disorder in infants and children has a huge impact in our society. It has
a broad spectrum, ranking from mild issues that do not involve major health related threats
complications for severe issues, such as underfeeding and the need for enteral feeding. Because of a
high popularity and the prompt detection, effects, types, environmentally factors, and treatment
options of pediatric and non pediatric behavioral feeding and eating disorders can be prevented.
Definition
For better understanding of what behavioral feeding and Eating Disorders are, we must first have a
clear view and some knowledge of difference between organic and nonorganic etiologies1 Organic
etiologies are usually essential ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Prevalence
Feeding and eating disorders seem to spread throughout different types. For instance, the majority of
individuals with intellectual disabilities display behavioral feeding and eating disorder problems, and
proximately 70% of children who suffer from autism seem to have very selective eating habits3. 15%
of children that have Gastreophageal reflux have feeding disorders and can even have food refusal4.
Another interesting finding is that in 45% of children feeding disorder has been estimated to occur.
Because of a high percentage, it is recommended that speech language pathologists are fully aware.
Effects
When any person consumes an exaggerated amount of food, it may follow with bad consequences.
The effect may consist of weight loss, malnutrition, weariness, mental impairment, and even death
and/or physical development. It has been proven that malnutrition and dehydration can be caused by
dysfunctional parent child mealtime. In severe cases, the need of medical doctors is necessary and an
enteral feeding tube has to be placed via nasogastric or gastronomy.
Just because a feeding tube is placed into the person and there are improvements, medical procedures
by themselves do not treat the behavioral aspect of the disorder. Extended

A Rough Patch for School Music Programs Essay
It came to my attention that there was clearly a problem when all that the band directors addressed at
band concerts, from the local school concert to the district performance, was that the music programs
were currently going through a rough patch. Budget cuts, an increased focus on test subjects, and loss
in popularity of music activities have caused the quantity and quality of high school musicians to
decline. With all of the impressive benefits of being a musician, it is crazy that student instrumentalists

Research findings show that 21% of seniors in the class of 2004 have participated in school music
ensembles, a decline of about 10% from 1982. Teenagers today enjoy listening to rap and pop songs
rather than compositions by old men Tchaikovsky or Beethoven. Even if high school bands do not
play classical music, there is a distinct difference between current music and band music. Also,
teenagers today are exceedingly preoccupied with their studies, extracurricular activities, and jobs.
Therefore, one usually has to decide which activity to focus on more or completely sports or music,
both activities that are equally time consuming. High school athlete participation has increased for the
24th consecutive year so far. Sadly, music does not prevail; there are not nearly as many student
participants in high school music programs. The population of high school musicians in the US is
shrinking. This is due to both schools putting music programs on the chopping block to save money
and focus on core subjects, and students who today seem to have lost more interest in musical
activities. Now more than ever, kids are less exposed to music activities in school, thus there is a
smaller chance of one becoming involved in the music program. Even so, purchasing new instruments
for the student and school is now difficult. Furthermore, the reduction of music educators leads to an
overall poorer teaching of musicality. School music

Truss Bridges Research Paper
Bridges are important, but what makes bridges so interesting? Bridges have been around for a long

Truss bridges can support weight because of their meticulously placed beams, but which truss is the

The history bridges have surrounding them spans a long period of history. Romans were the first

All are very effective and work well if built in the right conditions. The thing that separates these
bridges from one another is that they all have different points of compression and tension. Tension is
two forces of opposition that pull away from each other to keep it from being pulled together. If you
imagine a rope in a game of tug of war, the rope has a lot of tension because it is being pulled apart,
but the opposing force inside of the rope is trying to keep it together. The same can be applied to a
bridge truss because the tension truss is opposing the compression truss by pulling the bridge apart.
Tension also pulls the platform of the bridge by stretching it to keep the bridge from collapsing.
Compression is two forces in opposition that push an object together to try to compress it. If you think
of someone standing on a soda can, the soda can tries to resist being squished, but the weight of the
person standing on the can still squashes it. This example can also pertain to the truss on a bridge. A
compression truss opposes the tension truss by pulling the bridge together. Compression is also placed
on the top of a truss and in its bases. The compression at the top of the bridge counteracts with the
tension of the platform and balances out each force. The compression in its bases is from the weight of
the platform and trusses. Bridge engineers calculate the tension and

  • 2. Goosebupse Research Papers Goosebumps is the newest addition to the children s books created into a movie series. This 2015 film was directed by Rob Letterman, starring Jack Black, Dylan, Minnette, and Odeya Rush. As monsters come out of books, this horror comedy takes it s audience on an action packed adventure. Just as the audience of a book reads between the lines, the audience of a movie uses photography effects to further understand the meaning. Many elements of photography are used to add effect to the events throughout Goosebumps. A teenage boy, Minnette, moves to a small town that is much different than his previous big city. Unhappy about the move, Minnette s character finds a bit of happiness in meeting his neighbor, a beautiful teenage girl. A surprise comes when Minnette s character, Zach, finds out his neighbor Hannah, played by Rush, is fathered by the well known author R.L. Stine. After Zach found his way into Hannah s house he opens some of Stine s Goosebumps books and unleashes the monsters into the world. Zach, Hannah, and Stine come together to fight off the monsters and get them back into their books while keeping the town safe. Photography was first present, right away in the opening scene. Two voices come from a car, with a moving trailer on the back, driving down an open road. The camera shoots from an extreme long shot to show ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the most noticeable elements is the use of bright colors. The film had only used them previously for the first couple opening scenes because the film was cheerful and happy. Rack focusing was used to blur the surroundings of the high school while only staying focused on Hannah and Zach. This was done so the audiences eyes were to follow the two main characters because they are all that matters in the scene. Lyricism was used in this scene for the emotional intensity between characters. The last scene was all about love and using lyrical style helped to emphasize the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Uganda s Anti-gay Laws Essay There has been an increase of gays all over the world in the last few generations. Some countries have become accepting to it, but others are not having any of it and Uganda, a country in East Africa, is one of them. Uganda has passed severe laws for an anti gay country. Some laws as severe as life in prison or death sentence. The U.S. should step in and act as an International police force before things get too out of hand because nobody should be put to death or spend lifetime in prison for being who they are. Uganda began to see gay rights as a problem. Yoweri Museveni, the president of Uganda, is disgusted with the outbreak of homosexuality in his country and he wants LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) extinguished. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Without the involvement of the American Evangelicals things maybe could ve been different. Roger Ross Williams said, The Anti Homosexuality Bill would never have come about without the involvement of the American Fundamental Evangelicals (Walker 30). Ever since the Anti Homosexuality Bill was on the agenda, Ugandan LGBT have been living in constant fear of discovery and prosecution ( Persecuted 4). A man named David Kato was a gay living in Uganda. He was beaten with a hammer and died because he was gay. He was also involved in a Rolling Stones Magazine article. There was a picture of Kato and two other gay man with a banner on top that said, Hang Them, which was use as a statement to hang ALL the gays of Uganda. David Kato believed there were two different ways to react to being gay. One way was to be as secretive about it as possible. Or the other way was to be not ashamed of it. Kato was proud to be gay even though it was risky, especially in the country of Uganda with all the new Anti Homosexuality Bills. Kato televised a press conference to start the push for gay rights in his own country ( Gay 96). After Kato had tried to push for gay rights he had been suffered beatings by police and people of Uganda and has been arrested at least three times. Some Christian pastors that toured around Uganda s towns said Kato was a dog, a pig, possessed by the devils ( Gay 96). At ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Unreliable Narrator s Mind How ill, and mentally unstable can a mind get? Edgar Allan Poe wrote a story about the narrator killing another man because of his eye. The narrator was not seeking revenge, but was vexed by the old man s eye. To him, it was an eye of a vulture . It infuriates him, and he is going to do something about it. A week before killing the old man, he saw a psychologist. The psychologist said that the narrator s mind is mentally unstable. He has been prescribed many kinds of medicine, and is recommended to go to a mental institution. The narrator didn t go to a mental institution. His mind was set on killing the old man. Abstract The firm internationalization literature is extensive, but dominated by studies of technical, often large, firms. The service firm internationalization literature is slowly growing. Few international contributions are found investigating the advertising industry and no such studies focus on the Swedish market. The PR industry has been internationally neglected. This study investigates four advertising agencies and four PR agencies in the Swedish market. The eight case agencies confirm traditional internationalization motives, but also new motives are found, such as the foreign ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Lastly, these authors used quantitative research method, which generally limits the freedom of the respondents in answering questions. The Public Relations, PR, industry has been internationally neglected. A possible explanation to this neglect is that this industry has been assumed to be the same as the advertising industry. The gap in research should by now be evident! Despite a growing body of service literature, the internationalization of the advertising industry and the Public Relations industry in Sweden has remained unchartered territories for research. The internationalization motives and the entry modes for the advertising industry in USA are somewhat known, but the PR industry is neglected internationally. The link between motives and entry modes in the advertising industry is blurry even from an international perspective and the latest contribution was released in year 1990. Furthermore, it is unclear what importance the concept of psychic distance (Johanson and Vahlne 1977; Johanson and Wiedersheim Paul 1975) has for the international expansion in these industries and if and how business contacts 5 enables these industries to internationalize (Johanson and Mattsson 1988). Additionally, there is no recent research focusing on these industries after the globalization of services and the enhanced importance of services in the World and in Sweden. Holes By Louis Sachar Essay HOLES EXTENDED RESPONSE The novel Holes, written by Louis Sachar, demonstrates how the protagonist Stanley Caveman Yelnats, overcame problems and filled holes in his life at Camp Green lake which weren t there after he left the juvenile centre.. Stanley had a few holes in his life such as not having a great physical image, having a lack of confidence and not being strong enough. One feature which rapidly improved and changed in Stanley s life during his course at Camp Green Lake was the aspect of being overweight to becoming confident in his physique. I am not a boxer, and I don t battle anybody, in any case it interests me seeing such character which was not just one of the best competitors of all time, he was also the front cover of Times magazines 4 times ever, could take 100 thousand fans to a football stadium to watch a boxing match, but on the other hand was conflicted as the twentieth century that helped shape and by whom was shaped. I appreciate such characters, which can surpass all life troublesome and change history. It was a hot and crispy morning in Arizona when one of the greatest legends of sports died after fighting respiratory problems and Parkinson disease for over 30 years. If I could ask this one question to Ali: Who are you? I am sure this would be his answer: I am Muhammad Ali the greatest of the greatest... For many people this could be called exaggeration, an excess of confidence, among other things, to me it could be simply summarized in one term Grit. Born in Louisville, Kentucky in 1942, he had every one of the fixings to end up only a customary individual. His house was not the most amicable environment for an African American individual amid that time encountering childhood in the confined South, he experienced racial bias and partition firsthand. Julius Caesar Assassination There are various explanations, documents, and excerpts claiming that the information they have on who Julius Caesar was and the events that led to his assassination are correct. I will be explaining Caesars character as portrayed differently in the three documents considered to be primary sources written after his death and the way our textbook portrays him. In the passages he was depicted to be a selfish dictator. The Assassination of Julius Caesar, 44 BC, describes the events chronologically of what led to his attack. This article explains the four different proposals to assassinate Caesar. The plan that was thought out to be the most efficient was to kill him as he sat in the senate, because no one other than Senators were allowed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In The Assassination of Julius Caesar, 44 BC, and Suetonius on the Death of Caesar, Caesar was described as a selfish dictator who wanted to rule every empire and disregarded tradition. In the excerpt by Marcus Brutus, Plutarch: The Assassination of Julius Caesar, the events leading to Caesar s death and what the people around him planned very carefully is the only thing that was talked about; there was no point of view from the author about Caesar s character. On the other hand, in the textbook Making of the West, Volume I: To 1750, 4th Edition , Caesar was this ruler who sympathized and was merciful towards his enemy. He wanted to rule all of Rome and manipulated everybody to keep him as a ruler, but monarchy was against tradition. His untimely demise came from the hands of some of those he trusted the most, those who believed to be protecting the same empire he fought his entire life to fortify. One cannot help but to think that, ignoring the warnings of the priests, his friends and wife made him an unwilling participant in his own death. Although the passages portrait him as a selfish dictator there is a small contradiction in between them when it comes to the final moments, according to The Assassination of Julius Caesar, 44 BC he fell to the ground saying nothing more than a grunt and took his last breath and in ... • 9. Compare And Contrast Macbeth And Jocasta In both Oedipus the King and Macbeth, Shakespeare and Sophocles demonstrate how Jocasta and Lady Macbeth are very similar and at the same time very different. After Jocasta and Lady Macbeth heard their husbands prophecies, their lives were changed. Jocasta and Lady Macbeth both take action and both kill themselves as a consequence. What differentiates these women is the motives behind their actions. Although Jocasta does not believe in oracles or prophecies, she does act against them, then, later on, tries to convince Oedipus that prophecies mean nothing. In the other hand, Lady Macbeth believes in prophecies and acts to make it a reality by convincing her husband, Macbeth, to kill so that he might become king faster. Both women commit horrible ... Here she uses the expression full [of the] milk , meaning she believed he was too innocent, righteous and fearful to do evil. She says to herself, That I might pour my spirits in thine ear, and chastise with the valour of my tongue all that impedes thee from the golden round (1.5.23 250). Since she thought Macbeth was not capable of committing a crime, she acted as his guidance and corrupts him by motivating him to kill. she had to give him the courage he needed in order to kill the king. She talks him into it and dismisses all the thoughts that stopped him from being crowned. She also helps Macbeth physically by drugging the guards, taking back the daggers Macbeth was supposed to leave behind and smearing the guards with blood. • 10. Amygdala Case Study Hi Nancy, I really enjoyed your take on this week s discussion post and how you approached it primarily from the emotional and biological perspective. As you mentioned, any damage to amygdala can cause a variety of symptoms, but primarily, the individual will experience an impaired ability to practice and/or identify both fear and negative emotions. Individuals with traumatic brain injuries involving the amygdala react differently to various stimuli, mainly due the numerous factors involved in the way that the amygdala responds based on both the location and the level of brain damage sustained. In some, conditions like Kluver Bucy Syndrome can appear, where the individual has trouble understanding visual information such as mood or facial expressions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For instance, in one study where the brain functioning of 41 murderers were evaluated, researchers found that the amygdala had weaker activity in the left hemisphere of their brain than they did on their right. In other words, poor functioning in some areas indicates an inability to learn from experience, as well as an emotional load that outweighs the ability of the left hemisphere to regulate it (Ramsland, K.M., 2005, p. 70). Damage to this area of the brain can obviously create behavioral manifestations as well, including anger, rage, and inability to react properly to the surrounding environment. Also, in other research noted by Berry Dee (2007), the limbic system can either reward or punish the brain and if areas of the limbic system are damaged, such as the amygdala itself, and these individuals can also exhibit indiscriminate sexual behaviors. I think the biggest piece of information I gained from this week topic is that a variety of responses can come from injury to the amygdala, and given its ability to disrupt recognition of certain emotional behaviors, there is certainly a concern that individuals can either be a danger to themselves (by not being able to detect danger or emotions of others in their environment) or by being a danger to others (as is the case with the findings associated with amygdala dysfunctions in serial ... • 11. Melancholia Depression Melancholia: Depression on Film Melancholia is defined as a mental condition characterized by extreme depression, bodily complaints, and often hallucinations and delusions. Lars von Trier wrote the film during his own episode of severe depression, and noted the tendency of the depressed to remain peaceful during catastrophic events. To reflect this detached sense of reality, Lars Von Trier rejected his rigidly realistic Dogma 95 principles for a dreamlike aesthetic that represents the depressed mind of the main character Justine (played by Kirsten Dunst). This is a recreation of John Everett Millais painting entitled Ophelia. Ophelia, a character from Shakespeare s Hamlet, is perhaps the most famous depressive in all of literature. Justine embodies this image of being trapped and detached from loved ones, through her emotionless and dead eyed expressions. Justine and Claire both try to escape during the film but they both fail; therefore, they are literally trapped on the mansion property, which gives an increasing sense of hopelessness and dread. Richard Wagner s song, Prelude to Triston and Isolde, is played as a haunting refrain throughout the film. The song mixes depression with beauty and desire, like how the beautiful aesthetic of the film mixes with the hopelessness on screen. I appreciate that Lars von Trier rejects end of the world movie clichés, and instead shows something deeper and more poetic. The end of the world is experienced through the broken Justine and Claire, and not shown through massive destructions of major cities and mass hysteria. The end of the world is a fiercely intimate and unescaping event, instead of a time filled with last minute hook ups and hedonistic bucket lists. INTRODUCTION As networks and computer systems become universal and exposed, security threats and risks continue to grow more rapidly. This causes enormous threats; therefore, Security specialists and experts are continuously trying to find solutions for these kinds of threats through different methods like attack signatures and looking for methods to prevent them. Nevertheless, as solutions are formed, new types of threats emerge, for example spam mails, spywares, worms and Trojans just to mention a few. A growing program problem in our technologically advanced society is the increase in security related issues for small to medium industries (infosec reading room, n.d.).The digital age has also appeared with a variation of benefits to organization such as Just Love and individuals. Information technologies are becoming more broadly used every day. As networks and computer systems become more pervasive, security threats and risks continue to grow more rapidly, therefore transferring data from paper and pen environments to computer systems does not always happen. Increasing complication and sophistication of the ever growing information technologies has prompted unique and unparalleled challenges for organizations such as mine to protect their information assets. Vatican Council II was an ecomunal or global council that is the meeting of all the Catholic bishops from all around the world which dealt with certain issues facing the Catholic Church. Major issues that took place during the era of the Vatican Council II was that the church was powerful and was taking to much money from people. Some of the chapters are prime learning tools, they help each politician take it to the next level and become a prime politician. Every morning I make Trump a coffee, two sugars and one cream, help him adjust his tie, and give him some prime advice for the day as he drinks his coffee over breakfast. I start out by saying It s not who you know, it s about how you get to know the people. • 17. Utilitarianism, Virtue And Care Ethics The three ethical theories I will discuss from Chapter 1 include: utilitarianism, virtue and care ethics. First, the utilitarianism is moral standard and a theory of action by humans that are morally right in action. Utilitarianism is an action that is morally right if its consequences are more favorable. One way for businesses , as our reading suggests (Fieser Moseley, 2012), is make a list of all the good and bad for any particular act. If the good outweighs the bad then that action should occur. If the bad outweighs the good, then the action should stop. Utilitarianism theory attempts to keep things on the positive, happier side of the spectrum. A company using this theory is probably functioning well due to their morale analysis of actions related to safe products, good quality products and customer care, a fair price, and fair and equal treatment to their employees. In addition, because utilitarianism is a morale standard, a company would be environmentally conscious and find ways to help the community and the world. A company would work at making their products in an environmentally safe way, recycle surplus and make their products within the United States to support the economy. A company would also look at balancing goods over harm produced to the environment or people. Lastly, if a company were to be very successful, they should donate some of their proceeds back into the community (environmentally or local community support) or employees (bonuses, ... As recently as 1996, a man from Ohio with connections to an extremist group was able to obtain Bubonic Plague cultures through the US Postal Service (Danzig Berkowsky, 1997). In the last month, several people within the United States have become infected with anthrax. As we stand right now, America is unprepared for a large scale attack with biological weapons, and as we continue with our War on Terrorism, the likelihood of such an attack is increasing every day. Several methods have been suggested for the massive airborne release of biological agents. Crop dusters, the most likely, are designed to release high concentrations of pesticides over large areas. This form of pesticide distribution exactly parallels the optimal methods for dispersal of a harmful biological agent. Stationary sprayers have also been implicated as a potential source of biological attack and could include backpack sprayers, agricultural sprayers, or even perfume atomizers (Danzig Berkowsky, 1997). Airborne schemes of distribution are virtually uncontrollable by government agencies. Crop dusters are available to anyone with a pilot s license and backpack sprayers can be found in most hardware stores. The consequence of the recent anthrax attacks through the US Postal service pale in comparison to the potential consequences of such an airborne attack. Although anthrax is not contagious, there are numerous potential airborne agents that are. • 20. Social Media And Traditional Media Traditional media has failed to live up to its fourth estate role. This has lead us to the question, can the more modern, social media, make up for the lack of success that traditional media has had in fulfilling this watchdog role for the people? Kemp s rules of CIDRA1 apply to social media as they do with traditional media. Thus, we must determine what, if any, obstacles are present in preventing social media from completing this role. More specifically, do the five filters that Chomsky highlights apply to social media as they do to traditional media? Or does the fundamental structure of social media allow for it to accomplish a fifth estate role? I argue that social media is more effective at playing a watchdog role than traditional media. Social media is built on a platform that has the interest of working for the people in terms of freedom of distributing ideas and checking elite power in liberal democracies. Furthermore, ...traditional media formats are no longer the only politically relevant forms of media (Metzgar, Maruggi, 2009, p. 149). The reason that social media can have higher success in acting as a watchdog role stems from one central theme: when it comes to social media, less of Chomsky s filters lie between the person wanting to distribute an idea and the ability to have this idea delivered to the public. We must understand the foundation of social media, and determine if it can meet the standards brought by Kemp. This, along with determining if Chomsky s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Based on what you learned about the origins of revolutions in this class, was this wave of contention inevitable? The term Arab Spring has emerged in academic literature as well as in the general media from about early 2011. It refers to the awakening of some Arab nations and the movements to replace authoritarian regimes with democratic ones. The theme of spring and awakening seems to have been borrowed from the 1989 reform movements in the former Eastern block nations, such as in the former German Democratic Republic or Hungary. However, this comparison has been criticised by some analysts since both the circumstances which have led to these movements as well as the outcome of these reform efforts seem to differ quite a lot. Yet, the Arab Spring term seems to be still widely used and even found an extension in the creation of the term Arab Winter which refers to events that happened in 2012 in some Arab countries during which these reform movements seemed to have cooled off and particular nations, such as Egypt, attempted to go back to the status quo of the pre 2011 era. With his deep solemn voice he said, The following information is fully classified to the public. Do you accept to hear? I said yes. He then went on to explain something extraordinary that hid right under our noses, literally. Oh God! I really shouldn t tell you the rest. Oh, um, okay. I ll continue, sorry. So, believe it or not, Humans can live forever. Yea, I sound insane, but you must keep listening. Ever since monkeys started to evolve into humans, they began to notice that their lifetime spam expanded. The only way that they could control the rapid population growth is killing off humans. These deaths can occur in may different ways such as crashes, fires and the most common, age. Yep. All of these things are deliberately caused by the government. On the date of September 11th 2001, the government had the plan to fly a plane filled with innocent passages into the twin towers and blame it on the terrorists. They succeeded and somehow completely went unnoticed. With the death by age, when you are born, your given both a birth date and a death date. Since I worked for the government, they promised over 90 years for each worker. Some people have a special injection when they are born. This triggers cancer at any random time. • 31. Deltas New Song Case Study Lance Welsh Case 1 (Delta s New Song) Accounting 581 Professor Thornock Case Study Questions 1. Q. Identify several possible drivers of salary costs for use in estimating a salary cost function. Using one of these cost drivers, apply the High Low technique to estimate the salary cost function for the Delta Airlines. What driver did you select and why? How would Delta use this function to forecast costs? What are the advantages of this technique? The disadvantages? A. Some of the possible drivers of salary cost are Number or Departures, Revenue Ton Miles, Revenue Miles scheduled, Revenue passenger miles and there are countless more you could use. High low method for revenue Ton Miles (High 2,369, low 1,580) by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Again, this method only uses one variable but shows us the best variable to use. If we use multiple regression models we would be able to get a more accurate result. 3.The three drivers I chose were 1.) available Ton miles 2.) Number of Departures 3.)Revenue Passengers Miles These three drivers had the best R square values and that is why I chose them. This method is a considerable upgrade from all of the other methods and gives us the best available outcome. This outcome takes multiple variables and combines them into one equation. The multiple regressions R square(.8615) is higher than the single regression so there is some conflict with the method. 4. For the questions 1 3 we found out a couple different cost functions that could be useful for Delta when predicting salaries for 2003 and 2004. The multiple regressions may be most reliable considering it uses multiple variables, but the single R square is better than multiple regressions. 5. I used the Average Ton Miles as well for Jet Blue because it had the lowest R square for the previous example. (202,610 60,246)/(49 16)=142,364,000/33,000,000= 4.314. This doesn t tell us a lot in direct correlation because it only takes one variable and it takes the two extremes of that variable. 6. I think It reasonable to assume that Delta can expect right around 24(number in thousands) for revenue passengers emplaned in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Behavioral Feeding And Eating Disorders Introduction Behavioral feeding and Eating Disorder in infants and children has a huge impact in our society. It has a broad spectrum, ranking from mild issues that do not involve major health related threats complications for severe issues, such as underfeeding and the need for enteral feeding. Because of a high popularity and the prompt detection, effects, types, environmentally factors, and treatment options of pediatric and non pediatric behavioral feeding and eating disorders can be prevented. Definition For better understanding of what behavioral feeding and Eating Disorders are, we must first have a clear view and some knowledge of difference between organic and nonorganic etiologies1 Organic etiologies are usually essential ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Prevalence Feeding and eating disorders seem to spread throughout different types. For instance, the majority of individuals with intellectual disabilities display behavioral feeding and eating disorder problems, and proximately 70% of children who suffer from autism seem to have very selective eating habits3. 15% of children that have Gastreophageal reflux have feeding disorders and can even have food refusal4. Another interesting finding is that in 45% of children feeding disorder has been estimated to occur. Because of a high percentage, it is recommended that speech language pathologists are fully aware. Effects When any person consumes an exaggerated amount of food, it may follow with bad consequences. The effect may consist of weight loss, malnutrition, weariness, mental impairment, and even death and/or physical development. It has been proven that malnutrition and dehydration can be caused by dysfunctional parent child mealtime. In severe cases, the need of medical doctors is necessary and an enteral feeding tube has to be placed via nasogastric or gastronomy. Just because a feeding tube is placed into the person and there are improvements, medical procedures by themselves do not treat the behavioral aspect of the disorder. Extended ... • 33. A Rough Patch for School Music Programs Essay It came to my attention that there was clearly a problem when all that the band directors addressed at band concerts, from the local school concert to the district performance, was that the music programs were currently going through a rough patch. Budget cuts, an increased focus on test subjects, and loss in popularity of music activities have caused the quantity and quality of high school musicians to decline. With all of the impressive benefits of being a musician, it is crazy that student instrumentalists are an endangered species. Especially in this time of recovery from the recession, budget cuts have forced music programs to decrease exponentially, or shut down altogether. There are countless cases from all different types of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Research findings show that 21% of seniors in the class of 2004 have participated in school music ensembles, a decline of about 10% from 1982. Teenagers today enjoy listening to rap and pop songs rather than compositions by old men Tchaikovsky or Beethoven. Even if high school bands do not play classical music, there is a distinct difference between current music and band music. Also, teenagers today are exceedingly preoccupied with their studies, extracurricular activities, and jobs. Therefore, one usually has to decide which activity to focus on more or completely sports or music, both activities that are equally time consuming. High school athlete participation has increased for the 24th consecutive year so far. Sadly, music does not prevail; there are not nearly as many student participants in high school music programs. The population of high school musicians in the US is shrinking. This is due to both schools putting music programs on the chopping block to save money and focus on core subjects, and students who today seem to have lost more interest in musical activities. Now more than ever, kids are less exposed to music activities in school, thus there is a smaller chance of one becoming involved in the music program. Even so, purchasing new instruments for the student and school is now difficult. Furthermore, the reduction of music educators leads to an overall poorer teaching of musicality. School music ... • 34. Truss Bridges Research Paper Bridges are important, but what makes bridges so interesting? Bridges have been around for a long time. Bridges go all the way back to the Romans with arch bridges and to the suspension bridges in modern day cities. There are various types of bridges, but which one can support the most weight? Truss bridges can support weight because of their meticulously placed beams, but which truss is the best? The history bridges have surrounding them spans a long period of history. Romans were the first civilization to construct long lasting bridges with their aqueducts. They made arch bridges which play a hand in many of the designs of modern bridges. Nowadays bridges use trusses to strengthen them. There are many types of bridges and trusses. The first ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All are very effective and work well if built in the right conditions. The thing that separates these bridges from one another is that they all have different points of compression and tension. Tension is two forces of opposition that pull away from each other to keep it from being pulled together. If you imagine a rope in a game of tug of war, the rope has a lot of tension because it is being pulled apart, but the opposing force inside of the rope is trying to keep it together. The same can be applied to a bridge truss because the tension truss is opposing the compression truss by pulling the bridge apart. Tension also pulls the platform of the bridge by stretching it to keep the bridge from collapsing. Compression is two forces in opposition that push an object together to try to compress it. If you think of someone standing on a soda can, the soda can tries to resist being squished, but the weight of the person standing on the can still squashes it. This example can also pertain to the truss on a bridge. A compression truss opposes the tension truss by pulling the bridge together. Compression is also placed on the top of a truss and in its bases. The compression at the top of the bridge counteracts with the tension of the platform and balances out each force. The compression in its bases is from the weight of the platform and trusses. Bridge engineers calculate the tension and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
