Don t Underestimate North Korea s Nuclear Arsenal
The article, Don t Underestimate North Korea s Nuclear Arsenal, was featured in The Wall Street
Journal, a center right publication, on 2/27/2017. R. James Woolsey, is a democrat government official
who served as the Director of the CIA, and was once a senior advisor for President Trump (Rucker,
2017). Peter Pry is a co author to the piece. Pry served in the CIA, and is the chief of staff of the
Congressional EMP Commission. (Woolsey Pry, 2017) Evaluating the piece with the critical eye does
not yield great results. Among the many elements of the critical eye that raise red flags, accuracy is the
weakest. The article begins with the title Don t Underestimate North Korea s Nuclear Arsenal. That
title is clearly an appeal to fear ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For one, North Korea first must miniaturize it. They have not done this. Second, the missile would
have to fly and be dependable. When the North Korean s launched the latest missile, and this is true
for many others, they did so at an angle and depth to ensure that it would land in the water before it hit
Japan. If they had been more confident in their own missiles, they would have launched closer to the
surface, and at an angle that would allowed it to travel a distance of over 310 miles. Since it traveled
310 miles with the high arc, it is probable that the latest test could have flown closer to the 700 800
miles that has been estimated. The second page is where the significant inaccuracies begin. The first
paragraph on the second page states that the first atomic bomb, which used enriched uranium, was
never tested: Hiroshima was the test. The second one, which used plutonium, was tested once and
worked perfectly at Trinity and on Nagasaki. (Woolsey Pry, 2017) Hiroshima was not the first instance
of the United States detonating an atomic bomb, Trinity was. Trinity occurred on July 16th, 1945, and
the bombing of Hiroshima occurred on August 6th, 1945. Trinity was also uranium 235, not
plutonium. (Taylor, 2015) The authors also mentioned that France s first nuclear test was a success.
The first nuclear test conducted by France exploded with a force of 70kilotons. The bomb that
dropped on Nagasaki was only 20kilotons. In that comparison, it could be

The First Triumvirate
The First Triumvirate The first triumvirate was and alliance between three prominent politicians,
Crassus, Pompey and Julius Caesar. The Roman historian Livy described the First Triumvirate as a
conspiracy against the state by its three leading citizens . The agreement was unofficial and private. It
was formed in the summer of 60 59 B.C. The first triumvirate however is a bit misleading in name.
Not only was it never called that by the contemporary Romans, but it was a far more inclusive factio
(faction) than the term triumvirate implies. How and why the first triumvirate was created: · Crassus
and Pompey had been colleagues in the past, they shared consulship in 70 B.C. but never liked each

Caesar offered Pompey another wife, his grandniece Octavis. Pompey refused, instead choosing to

enemies in 52 B.C. This emphasized Pompey s drift away from Caesar towards the optimates. The
Death of Crassus Crassus got Syria for his proconsular service in 54 B.C. Desperate for military glory
He even left his term as consul to undertake a military campaign against the Parthians. His ambiation
outran his ability. After early success his army was completley destroyed at Carrhae by Parthian
archers in 53 B.C. during which Crassus was murdered. This left just Pompey and Caesar to rule
Rome, and Carssus death created a rivalry between the two that could not be broken. The Rivalry
between Crassus and Pompey Caesar s successes in Gaul, along with his growing power and wealth,
drove Pompey. While Caesar was fighting in Gaul, Pompey proceeded with a legislative agenda for
Rome, which revealed that he was now covertly allied with Caesar s enemies. Pompey also made it
clear that Caesar would not be permitted to stand for Consul unless he turned over control of his
armies. This would, of course, leave Caesar defenseless before his enemies. Pompey was elected
consul without colleague in 52. The

W B Yeats Research Paper
Irish poets, learn your trade, sing whatever is well made, scorn the sort now growing up all out of
shape from toe to top. (Yeats n.p.) If there is one thing that can drive a human being, it is pride.
Whether this pride is in yourself, or in a larger form, it is a fuel that keeps us moving and improving
and constantly creating. William Butler Yeats was an artist who had immense pride, not just for
himself as a writer, but exorbitantly in his home country of Ireland. This would be described as
nationalism in modern times. Nationalism is defined as an extreme form of patriotic feeling,
principles, or efforts, especially accompanied by a feeling of superiority over other countries. From
adulthood to his elderly years, Yeats kept to this definition. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This minority had controlled political, social, and cultural life in Ireland since the end of the 17th
century, and many who belonged to this group preferred to think of themselves as Irish born English
folk; however, W.B. Yeats was incredibly proud of his Irish heritage, with a strong self image of an
artist. He preferred to be prideful about the rich culture, he was a part of, preferring the beautiful
scenery of home to anywhere else in the world. These personal convictions caused many accuse him
of elitism, but also contributed to his perceived greatness as a writer. In 1885 his nationalist attitude
only grew stronger, this largely due in part to his new found friend John O Leary. O Leary was a
recently returned prisoner, and famous patriot, who had been incarcerated and exiled 20 years for his
revolutionary nationalist activities. The former revolutionist had a great love for Irish arts and
literature, which inspired Yeats to begin producing many poems based on Irish legends, folklore,
ballads, and songs. While his friendship with John O Leary was brief, it only nourished his
nationalism and made way for many literary works to come in his

Ikea Essay
List the various ways in which IKEA has managed its global environment over time.
IKEA was founded by Ingvar Kamprad in 1943. Today IKEA is one of the largest furniture chains in
the world with three hundred and fifteen stores operating in twenty seven countries. IKEA has
managed its Global Environment in the three major ways which has contributed to its great success.
These ways are as follows:
1. Ingvar Kamprad was able to identify the changing trend in consumer wants and adapted his
products to these evolving needs. Consumers wanted well designed and well made furniture at an
affordable price. IKEA was able to reduce its cost through developing internal departments to

IKEA has developed its own manufacturing department which is less costly than outsourcing or
purchasing processed pieces from outside. Customers purchase furniture in flat pack packages which
is assembled by the customer themselves. This lack of assembly removed the cost of hiring employees
to assemble piece then sell it. (IKEA, 2015)
IKEAs organizational culture and reputation is known around the world. The organization is built in a
culture of hearts and IKEA values; hard work, tough challenges and common sense. IKEA is built on
the philosophy that all stakeholders play a vital part in the company s success. The customer group of
stakeholders are provided with low cost furniture which meets their needs. Good customer service and
reliable products creates brand loyalty which results in customer satisfaction and repeat purchases.
Employees of IKEA are treated with respect and emphasis is placed in them being an essential part of
the organization. Employees are given training, above average pay and a generous bonus structure.
Promotions are given to employees who thrive in the company. (Jones, 2013)

Analysis Of 7 Habits Of Highly Effective Teens
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens is like a book full of advice to help teenagers who are falling
and is in need of help. The book explains the goods and the bads of each everyday habit that teens use.
The book also gives you ideas and advice to help you start doing these habits the correct way. There is
7 habits that are explained in the book, be proactive, begin with the end in mind, put first things first,
think win win, seek first to understand, then to be understood, synergize, and sharpen the saw. I ve
learned a lot of things from the book like the more you listen the more you gather information to state
your own opinion, which i ve been learned, and make sure to build relationships with everyone so you
can gain trust with that person. The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens is a good book for people who
are in need of help and it can also make a big difference in life if you follow and do what the habits
say.
The first habit in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens is be proactive or being proactive. This habit
technically means to think before you do. What i m trying to say is don t react to everything that
happens to you, like when a car cuts you off on the road, don t yell and scream at that driver, just be
calm and go on with your day. Be like water in a glass, water is calm and relaxed, but don t be like a
soda can that was shaken up by someone, because at some point it s going to build pressure and

Classroom Management Theory Essay
Students enter the classroom with differing personalities and levels of learning. Hence, it is important
that pre service teachers are equipped with knowledge and understanding of the different theories of

24). To implement GCT effectively, teachers must be able to distinguish a student s individual
motivation to misbehave and negotiate alternative solutions to prevent their misbehaviour (Dempsey
Arthur Kelly, 2007, p.122: Lyons et al., p. 24). For example, by using preventative strategies such as
engaging in whole class discussions, explicit instructions, modelled consistency and offering choice
with rules, consequence and academic tasks, students may be able to recognise their personal
intentions and maintain suitable behaviours (Lyons et al., p. 24).
GCT has many strengths, for instance, it provides teachers with an effective framework to distinguish
their students motivation to misbehave. Furthermore, it helps students to recognise and adapt their
own misbehaviour that may arise from failure to meet social needs. GCT encourages constructive
classroom environments, where students are intrinsically motivated and actively involved in their
learning, thus they demonstrate accountability for their own academic achievement whilst considering
the needs of others. However, critics of GCT believe that not every student has the need to be socially
accepted and other reasons such as an inability to recognise motives or hidden motives may be
responsible for their misbehaviour (Lyons et al., 2014, p. 24). Moreover, teachers who have limited

Dog Ownership In Where The Red Fern Grows
For hundreds of years, dogs have served as the benefactor for man. However, beyond their vigilant
nature, their firm sense of loyalty enables them to form a kinship with their owner that is
unsurpassable. While dogs companionship is often detailed in books and movies, their devout
obedience translates off the screens and pages and is utilized by humans in a variety of ways, such as;
a companion, protector, or guide for the disabled. However, as with any relationship, the pair faces
obstacles or challenges that invokes camaraderie and deepens their emotional bond. As a result, both

However, despite the hardships that ensue, the uncanny ability of dogs to evoke emotional connections
forces the development of an unbreakable and loving bond. The movie Marley and Me, exemplifies
this dynamic. In this film, Jennifer Grogan and John Grogan both sensed a missing piece in their
relationship and believed a dog would complete it. One day, the Grogans decided to bring home a little
puppy and named him Marley. Initially, Marley was reckless and destroyed everything around the
house. The Grogans even attempted to medicate Marley to help him be less rambunctious. Despite all

food. I was with Ralph and Simon, this boy, Piggy, wanted to come but I told him no. We found a pig,
I was so close to killing it. I was choosing a place, said Jack. I was just waiting for a moment to decide

Summary Of The Ghost
Chapter 1 Introduction About Ghost writing
The Ghost, Robert Harris s first sat nav (blend of satellite and navigation) novel was published on
26th September, 2007. It is a contemporary political thriller containing power, politics, corruption
and murder. It also highlights the problem which are involved in the art of ghost writing .
Ghostwriting is the act of writing books or other pieces such as a speech, book , article ,
autobiography and various other literary work in which another author s recieves full credit. Often
these authors are celebrity, politicians or other popular figures who can sell books but cannot write.
Autobiographical writing is the written account of one s life which is written by the same person.
On the other hand, Ghostwriting consists of written accounts of another person s life; mostly famous
personalities, whose autobiographies, memoirs or written speeches are written by the ghostwriter.
As the name suggest, the ghostwriters name is never mentioned in his or her literary work therefore
they are always away from limelight. Though many miss the attention, the recognition and the
authority of having their own name on the writing but most of the ghostwriters have fierce level of
pride. Its either the income or the independence, its hard to decide. The thin line between these two
literature writing is very fine.
The Ghostwriting involves, interviews, meeting various people and getting to know in depth of their

Studies have proven that kelp can accelerate growth, increase flowering, and provide resistance to
disease ( Benefits of Kelp , n.d.). When comparing Figures 3 and 4, the SUPERthrive zinnias appear
to have healthier growth and are generally larger than the control group. Many of the SUPERthrive
zinnias also flowered, and overall looked healthier than the control zinnias. Because kelp has been
proven to increase growth, health, and flowering, it may be the reason why the experimental zinnias
had more success than the control.
The synthetic auxin found in SUPERthrive, indole 3 bytric acid, may be a key player in the benefits of
SUPERthrive, if there are any. For example, indole 3 acetic acid (IAA), the main auxin in higher
plants, has been found to have positive effects on plant growth and development. Auxin is able to
stimulate differential growth, specifically in response to gravity or light stimuli. Another important
aspect of auxin is its ability to detect developmental defects caused by auxin deficiency. With
SUPERthrive having indole 3 bytric acid as one of its main ingredients, there should be some benefits
from its use (Zhao, 2010). The increased growth seen in the SUPERthrive zinnias may have been due
to the additive of auxins in the product. Overall, it is hard to draw conclusions based off the results of
this experiment. While the SUPERthrive zinnias did experience a larger growth of 4.5 cm average

Music 1306
Concert Critique #1 I have never been personally a fan of the romantic orchestra music but going to
listen to a concert live is breathtaking. I attended the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra, Masterpieces
concert with music director Fouad Fakhouri performing Igor Stravinsky s Symphony of Psalms and
Gustav Mahler s Symphony No.1 in D major. There was a full stage of musicians and a complete
choir to back it up.
The first half of the performance was a complete orchestra of woodwinds, strings, drums, brass,

three part Symphony of Psalms. This Symphony was much shorter than I was ... Show more content

Mr. Fakhouri had also explained how this is one of his favorite pieces and just had to have his
orchestra perfect, as they did successfully.
After a minor wobble of the director stand, a few adjustments and giggles, Symphony No.1 in D major
began. The first movement started off with an eerie introduction, with the first two notes morphing
into a birdcall as well as main theme but a very magical sound. It made for a very soothing, romantic
time. Throughout the piece I felt as if it told a story as most music does, what I came to believe it was
a love story. The Allegro begins in the cello with the second Wayfarer song, Ging heut morgen Ubers
Feld, (I Walked this Morning over the Field). With a light and happy tone in the beginning as if two
lovers had just met, this was the main theme of this movement. Suddenly there was a deep, heavy part
maybe one of despair in paradise but that only lasted for a short period as it came to a victorious
ending of happily ever after. (Kahn)
The second movement Scherzo, gave more of an elegant, royal ball sound. Where the women dress in
gowns and the men in tuxedos, while drinking wine and dancing the night away. This movement has
the rhythm of the Landler, an Australian folk dance. It conforms to the classic minuet and trio form
though Mahler takes the first section beyond the standard repeat structure. The first three notes of the
Scherzo and the Trio recall the birdcall theme from the first movement. If

When Can Babies Eat Honey?
Honey is a natural substance produced by bees and popularly consumed by humans for health reasons.
Aside from being useful as a remedy for asthma, cough, hay fever, stomach problems and diarrhea,
honey is also delightful to the taste. Parents may want to allow their babies to experience new tastes,
such as that of honey, but health experts warn that the proper time to introduce honey to young babies
must be considered because serious side effects may occur when it is given too early.
When Can Babies Eat Honey?
Many cultures believe in the health benefits of honey and allow their babies to eat it early in their
lives. However, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) advises parents not to give their babies
raw or unpasteurized honey if they are younger than 12 months old. It should not be added to water,
formula or food, including processed or baked goods. This also includes beverages, bread or cereals
that may be sweetened with honey. This may be a conservative guideline but it is worth considering
and discussing with your baby s doctor (pediatrician).
Why Is Honey Unsafe for Your Babies?
1. Why is honey unsafe for your babies?
The main reason for delaying the introduction of honey to a baby s diet is that it can cause infant
botulism. This condition is caused by the ingestion of Clostridium botulinum spores. This type of
bacteria produces toxins inside the digestive tract and can lead to serious side effects. These include
paralysis of the baby s muscles, which can also

Hyperuricemia
Hyperuricemia is a common human metabolic disorder in the production or excreation of uric acid , it
leds to increase in serum uric acid levels more than the normal values (Haidari et al., 2012). Uric acid
is the last metabolite of the purine catabolic pathway in humans. Uric acid is formed by oxidation of
hypoxanthine to xanthine and xanthine to uric acid by the enzyme xanthine oxidase (XO).
Hyperuricemia results in the deposition of urate crystals in the joint and kidney causing inflammation,
gouty arthritis and uric acid nephrolithiasis (Tomita et al., 2000; Kong et al., 2002). The increasing
risk of hyperuricemia also has been demonstrated in several studies that elevated serum uric acid
levels predict the development of obesity and hypertension (Johnson et al., 2009; Perez Pozo et al.,
2010), hyperlipidaemia, cancer, and diabetes (Lin et al., 2000).

Consequence to the inhibition, the blood and urinary concentrations of uric acid are reduced and there
is a simultaneous increase in the excretion of the more soluble uric acid precursors, xanthine and

insufficiency are best treated with XO inhibitors (Wright and Pinto, 2003). However, allopurinol is the
only clinically used XO inhibitor, which also leads to many side effects such as hypersensitivity

Comparison Of King Richard III And Looking For Richard
To understand the complexity of the lineage of the English monarchy, it is imperative to make a
connection between present values and those of the past. While contemporary society demonstrate an
appreciation of William Shakespeare s play King Richard III (1851) it is not one of his plays they can
readily connect with. Al Pacino s docu drama, Looking for Richard, (henceforth Looking for...) (1996)
attempts to bridge that gap through intertextual connections. Both composers elucidate their respective
contexts through their exploration of the English monarch, King Richard III, through their
representation of the Elizabethan struggle for power and Pacino s attempts to connect the post modern
world to the 16th century. Pacino attempts to transform the Elizabethan play in light of ... Show more

Shakespeare uses the short stage direction: they fight; Richard is slain followed by the animalistic and
savage metaphor of the bloody dog is dead to convey Richard s death. He uses animal imagery
conveyed by Richmond along with the sudden and immediate death of Richard after he is willing to
trade a kingdom for a horse to show his audience that God has carried out divine retribution due to
Richard s Machiavellian nature. Pacino transformed this scene so that it lead to a deeper
understanding by his mainly secular 20th century audience. By undermining Richmond s inglorious
victory by having the soldiers shoot an arrow into Richard s back, Pacino shows that Richard s death
was unfair. He also removed Richmond s monologue to take the audience s attention away from
Richmond s speech about god and the righteousness of divine retribution. Thus, by portraying
conscience as being more important than divine retribution, Pacino transformed Shakespeare s King
Richard III to suit his context where Richard s guilt killed

A Good Movie Essay
Everyone life has been affected by a movie. Walt Disney said that Movies can and do have
tremendous influence in shaping young lives in the realm of entertainment towards the ideals and
objectives of normal adulthood . According to Google a movie is a story or event recorded by a
camera as a set of moving images and shown in a theater or on television; a motion picture . All this is
good, but what is a good movie. I say that a good movie has a good script, acting, and keeps you
interested. Every movie need a script, but a good movie needs a good script to match. The script is the
one of the essential factors in making a good movie. The script is going to make or break the movie
because that is what you re hearing for two hours. You can t have your movie going to theaters or to
the itunes store without a good script. When it has a bad script it makes the movie hard or unbearable
to watch because the actors sound like they aren t really invested in the story they re telling and you
will notice. It doesn t matter if it is an $200 million studio tentpole film or a $25 million movie about a
crazy old lady named Madea, if the script is bad there is no difference. At the end of the day your
movie can be hard to watch if the script is bad, but if the acting is bad i don t know what to tell you.
When you watching a movie, you have no choice but to experience different kind of acting. The acting
in a movie is an important factor in deciding whether or not the movie is good or

Michelle Obama And Ophelia
Women s role in society has made tremendous steps towards equality since previous times. However,
dependency on male figures has prohibited this process from happening faster. Two examples of this
process are Michelle Obama and Ophelia from Hamlet. When an individual heavily depends on
another person, they lack the ability to be self motivated and have a higher risk of vulnerability.
Michelle Obama is a powerful figure in the feminist world. While she is co dependent of Barack
Obama, she lives a life of her own and has many individual accomplishments. She received an
education at Harvard Law school and she grew up in an education focused environment.

Beet Cells Lab Report
The Effect of Temperature on Beet Cell Membranes and Concentration of Betacyanin Released
Introduction Membranes are an important feature of plant cells and they act as a barrier that separates
the interior of the cell from the external environment (Campbell et al., 2008). Each membrane layer is
composed of a phospholipid layer, which is semi permeable and possesses the ability to control the
movement of diffusion. Within the centre of a cell, the vacuole that is responsible for storage and the
maintenance of osmotic balance can be located. In this study, we are using beets to study these cellular
structures. Beet is a plant whose cells contain a characteristic red pigment, called betacyanin. It is
located in the vacuole, which is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Originally, the absorbance measured for samples in 5°C and 70°C were 1.700 and 0.845; the
concentrations were 425 μm and 180 μm respectively. However, because both of these absorbance
readings were greater than the highest absorbance value in our standard curve (Figure 1), a calculation
of diluted concentration for these two samples was necessary. Therefore, using the formula Cu = Cd/D
where Cu = concentration of undiluted (original) sample, Cd = concentration of diluted sample and D
= dilution (which is 1/5 in this experiment), we calculated that the diluted concentration for the sample
in 5°C is 85 μm and for the sample in 70°C is 36 μm. As we inserted these data on the graph (Figure
2), concentration of betacyanin for samples in 5°C and 70°C still dominate in comparison to others.
This sudden increase of concentration allowed us to understand that the tonoplast membrane is easier
to be damage in extreme temperature. Discussion Our original hypothesis about the effect of high
temperature on beet cell membrane was correct; as temperature increases, the concentration of
betacyanin increases as well. The beet root sample in temperature 70°C had a higher absorbance value
and concentration of betacyanin in comparison to other samples due to the membrane damage. The
experiment of lipid membranes performed by the University of Osaka concluded a similar result. They
found that the membranes were stable at physiological

Ergogenic Aids in Sports Essay
Ergogenic Aids in Sports
A large problem in sports today is the use of ergogenic aids. An ergogenic aid is any substance or
device that increases or enhances energy use, production, or recovery giving the athlete an advantage
in competition. Not all ergogenic aids are illegal; many such as dietary supplements, vitamin
supplements, or protein supplements are widely used and accepted, however, many are illegal and are
banned by many athletic committees(Ahrendt,1). I will be discussing these illegal aids and the affect
they have on the athlete and the athletic community. Some of the more commonly used illegal aids
include blood doping, caffeine, corticosteroids, diuretics, and human growth hormones (HGH).
Blood doping is taking blood ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The effectiveness of blood doping is unsure, researches don t know if it truly works. Some reports
state that the added RBC and hemoglobin increase the viscosity of the blood, which in turn actually
decreases the VO2 max(Goldman,50). The increase in viscosity can lead to an overload of work in the
liver and kidney, which could lead to future problems in the liver and kidney (Shipe,77). Another
precaution is if the blood that is injected does not come from the person it is being injected into there
is a possibility of getting a disease such as AIDS. Blood doping is nearly impossible to discover in
tests because the athlete is usually injecting their own blood into their system. The increased
hemoglobin and RBC in the body can be accredited to high altitude workouts (working at high
altitudes for extended amounts of time can increase hemoglobin and RBC s). Even though it is near
impossible to test for the Olympic Committee still bans its use in hope to find a test.
Caffeine is a chemical found in the leaves, seeds, and fruit of over 60 species of plant. It is found in
coffee, tea, some soft drinks, and chocolate. It can also be taken as a tablet at high doses in products
such as No Doz or Vivarin (Donahue,33). It is banned as an ergogenic aid in large doses.

During the crisis of Hurricane Katrina many survivors experience forces far beyond natural causes,
some may call this animosity. In response to the increasingly desperate survivors search for food and

outcome, Egger describes these actions as a legacy of the war on terror, has the mentality that an

light on the inhumane behavior of the United States government. Research shows that many
government officials and contractors had been sent into New Orleans to re establish order, and help
evacuate survivors, but for most survivors that was not the case. As stated by Eggers, long time
Muslim New Orleans resident Zeitoun, was forced out his home by government officials with guns
and was threatened to be shot even after he showed his I.D. confirming he is a United States Citizen

Social Work Capstone Reflection
This capstone course assisted in connecting all the material I have learned thus far in the program as
well as helped me to identify what skills and knowledge I need to continue working on. The capstone
presentation, as well as class, helped me to practice strength based language and be conscious of how I
describe my clients when presenting them to others. It can be a habit to use negative language to
describe a problem saturated story and unintentionally describe a patient s story in a way that comes
off as stigmatizing. This class helped me become conscious and tactful about how I word sensitive
circumstances. It was a great experience to present my patient s case to the class and practice being
thoughtful of how I portrayed my patient s presenting problem to the group.
A patient frequently comes to a social worker with a variety of problems, and it can be overwhelming
trying to determine where to start with the patient. In capstone class, we discussed presenting
problems and determining which problem is more appropriate to focus on within the agency setting. In
class we were able to practice identifying the presenting problem by using case vignettes as an
example. This activity was extremely helpful in learning how to identify a patient s presenting
problem and acquiring the skill to determine which problem takes precedence within certain settings.

Imagine reading a short story so weird, so filled with horror and eeriness, that the short story becomes
a little too creepy, so much that a reader might have to reread a sentence to make sure they read it
correctly. Did that character really just die? Is that animal really that scary? Is that house interacting
with the characters? A lot of times, nineteenth century author, Kate Chopin does just that to his
readers. Chopin uses many different elements of a short story to give his readers an idea of themes
such as death, and obsession. She illustrates this in two of his short stories, The Storm and The Story

Federal Income Tax Vs. Flat Tax
There has always been a large amount of discussion on the topic of the federal income tax.
Specifically, the discussions have revolved around how exactly the people should be taxed. There are
several ways in which tax rates can be determined, and all of them have some form of a strong
argument behind them. The flat tax is the best option as, by nature, it is the most fair. Tax rates are
measured by percentages, and when taxes are collected by percentages, the wealthy are already paying
more money than the poor. For example, if a flat tax rate of 20% is in place, and one person has an
annual income of $150,000 while another person has an annual income of $40,000. The person who

ever growing human population. William Halal and Michael Marien identified, what is known as the
Mega Crisis, A global environmental and economic collapse or near collapse, along with attendant
problems of rising prices, mass protests, wide spread psychic stress, and lawlessness. (Halal and
Marien. 2011) and although I admire the work of these authors one aspect that they tend overlook is
the connecting link between all trends leading to the Megacrisis, overpopulation. Over population is
when the number of living humans is compared to the available resources, such as water and the
essentials they need to survive. Imagine in some extraordinary event the world loses a quarter of its
population, many of these trends mentioned and those identified by Halal and Marien would

The Wealth Of Nations By Adam Smith
Adam Smith s masterpiece writing, The Wealth of Nations, attempts to create a different
understanding of the economy from his age. The focus mainly remains on mercantilism the most
prevalent economic system for Western Society at this time. Smith s simple and in depth explanations
of even the most basic economic concepts allow for someone with little to no prior knowledge of
economics to easily grasp his meaning, and coupling these explanations with real life examples
provides even more teaching power to Smith s words. The text is split up between five different books
of varying length covering the division of labor, capital, the progress of opulence, the mercantile
system, and the role of government.
The first book of The Wealth of Nations begins with discussions on the division of labor, which Smith
considers to be the greatest improvements for the productivity of labor. To illustrate his point, Smith
gives an example of the pin making industry as a case where division of labor does not just increase
productivity proportionally to how much the tasks have been split, but exponentially. Smith explains
that, a singular pin maker unknowledgable of most tasks required in pin making could not make more
than twenty pins in one day; whereas, ten pin makers each taking over some portion of the process can
make upwards of 48,000 pins in one day. In the same way that the division of labor applies to pin
making so too does it apply to all industries. Smith goes on to give three

Devil s Acre Book Report
I have been reading Library of Souls by Ransom Riggs and am on page 294. The characters in my
book have traveled to Devil s Acre. In this city murder is the only good thing that happens. People
who live in Devil s Acre are runaway peculiars looking for a way around the law. They are searching
for their friends that have been taken by the hollows and are being lead by a new character, Sharon. I
have stumbled upon a flash drive that was owned by the children and decided to share it with you.
Document #1: Jacob s Journal Today we traveled to a new location, meeting many interesting people.
Emma and Addison have been talking on and on about how this is a bad idea, not that I don t agree,
but I want to see what we can find. Emma has been getting a little angry since we have not yet found
the others, but when I comfort her she calms down. We have had many good talks and I hope we
continue to communicate well. We have caught the trail of the hollows and currently have been
following it through the heart of the dreaded city. Sharon has been taking us through secret tunnels all
day and I am glad we can finally see the sky. We are all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We finally caught the mischievous peculiar kids. They have been escaping us for days now and we
finally caught them. Although the other two kids got away I am happy. Those dumb kids fell right into
our trap and so will the other two in short time. They have no brains when it comes to us. On another
good note we successfully took 12 peculiar souls out today and installed them into the hollows.
Hopefully this new formula will pay off for us. We have been working so hard and it is finally the time
of the wights! Peculiar after peculiar we are at a grand total of 143 now and counting. Though there
should not be many left since we have raided almost all of the loops. We also caught all of the
headmistresses! No one can survive now; we are dominating the kingdom and are the new rulers. Oh
happy

  • 2. Don t Underestimate North Korea s Nuclear Arsenal The article, Don t Underestimate North Korea s Nuclear Arsenal, was featured in The Wall Street Journal, a center right publication, on 2/27/2017. R. James Woolsey, is a democrat government official who served as the Director of the CIA, and was once a senior advisor for President Trump (Rucker, 2017). Peter Pry is a co author to the piece. Pry served in the CIA, and is the chief of staff of the Congressional EMP Commission. (Woolsey Pry, 2017) Evaluating the piece with the critical eye does not yield great results. Among the many elements of the critical eye that raise red flags, accuracy is the weakest. The article begins with the title Don t Underestimate North Korea s Nuclear Arsenal. That title is clearly an appeal to fear ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For one, North Korea first must miniaturize it. They have not done this. Second, the missile would have to fly and be dependable. When the North Korean s launched the latest missile, and this is true for many others, they did so at an angle and depth to ensure that it would land in the water before it hit Japan. If they had been more confident in their own missiles, they would have launched closer to the surface, and at an angle that would allowed it to travel a distance of over 310 miles. Since it traveled 310 miles with the high arc, it is probable that the latest test could have flown closer to the 700 800 miles that has been estimated. The second page is where the significant inaccuracies begin. The first paragraph on the second page states that the first atomic bomb, which used enriched uranium, was never tested: Hiroshima was the test. The second one, which used plutonium, was tested once and worked perfectly at Trinity and on Nagasaki. (Woolsey Pry, 2017) Hiroshima was not the first instance of the United States detonating an atomic bomb, Trinity was. Trinity occurred on July 16th, 1945, and the bombing of Hiroshima occurred on August 6th, 1945. Trinity was also uranium 235, not plutonium. (Taylor, 2015) The authors also mentioned that France s first nuclear test was a success. The first nuclear test conducted by France exploded with a force of 70kilotons. The bomb that dropped on Nagasaki was only 20kilotons. In that comparison, it could be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. The First Triumvirate The First Triumvirate The first triumvirate was and alliance between three prominent politicians, Crassus, Pompey and Julius Caesar. The Roman historian Livy described the First Triumvirate as a conspiracy against the state by its three leading citizens . The agreement was unofficial and private. It was formed in the summer of 60 59 B.C. The first triumvirate however is a bit misleading in name. Not only was it never called that by the contemporary Romans, but it was a far more inclusive factio (faction) than the term triumvirate implies. How and why the first triumvirate was created: · Crassus and Pompey had been colleagues in the past, they shared consulship in 70 B.C. but never liked each other, and it was only through Julius ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She had been the personal tie between Caesar and Pompey, who were by now already drifting apart. Caesar offered Pompey another wife, his grandniece Octavis. Pompey refused, instead choosing to marry Cornelia Metella, daughter of Quintus Caecilius Metellus Scipio, one of Caesar s greatest enemies in 52 B.C. This emphasized Pompey s drift away from Caesar towards the optimates. The Death of Crassus Crassus got Syria for his proconsular service in 54 B.C. Desperate for military glory He even left his term as consul to undertake a military campaign against the Parthians. His ambiation outran his ability. After early success his army was completley destroyed at Carrhae by Parthian archers in 53 B.C. during which Crassus was murdered. This left just Pompey and Caesar to rule Rome, and Carssus death created a rivalry between the two that could not be broken. The Rivalry between Crassus and Pompey Caesar s successes in Gaul, along with his growing power and wealth, drove Pompey. While Caesar was fighting in Gaul, Pompey proceeded with a legislative agenda for Rome, which revealed that he was now covertly allied with Caesar s enemies. Pompey also made it clear that Caesar would not be permitted to stand for Consul unless he turned over control of his armies. This would, of course, leave Caesar defenseless before his enemies. If there is one thing that can drive a human being, it is pride. Whether this pride is in yourself, or in a larger form, it is a fuel that keeps us moving and improving and constantly creating. William Butler Yeats was an artist who had immense pride, not just for himself as a writer, but exorbitantly in his home country of Ireland. This would be described as nationalism in modern times. To implement GCT effectively, teachers must be able to distinguish a student s individual motivation to misbehave and negotiate alternative solutions to prevent their misbehaviour (Dempsey Arthur Kelly, 2007, p.122: Lyons et al., p. 24). For example, by using preventative strategies such as engaging in whole class discussions, explicit instructions, modelled consistency and offering choice with rules, consequence and academic tasks, students may be able to recognise their personal intentions and maintain suitable behaviours (Lyons et al., p. 24). GCT has many strengths, for instance, it provides teachers with an effective framework to distinguish their students motivation to misbehave. Furthermore, it helps students to recognise and adapt their own misbehaviour that may arise from failure to meet social needs. GCT encourages constructive classroom environments, where students are intrinsically motivated and actively involved in their learning, thus they demonstrate accountability for their own academic achievement whilst considering the needs of others. However, critics of GCT believe that not every student has the need to be socially accepted and other reasons such as an inability to recognise motives or hidden motives may be responsible for their misbehaviour (Lyons et al., 2014, p. 24). When comparing Figures 3 and 4, the SUPERthrive zinnias appear to have healthier growth and are generally larger than the control group. Many of the SUPERthrive zinnias also flowered, and overall looked healthier than the control zinnias. Because kelp has been proven to increase growth, health, and flowering, it may be the reason why the experimental zinnias had more success than the control. The synthetic auxin found in SUPERthrive, indole 3 bytric acid, may be a key player in the benefits of SUPERthrive, if there are any. For example, indole 3 acetic acid (IAA), the main auxin in higher plants, has been found to have positive effects on plant growth and development. Auxin is able to stimulate differential growth, specifically in response to gravity or light stimuli. Another important aspect of auxin is its ability to detect developmental defects caused by auxin deficiency. With SUPERthrive having indole 3 bytric acid as one of its main ingredients, there should be some benefits from its use (Zhao, 2010). The increased growth seen in the SUPERthrive zinnias may have been due to the additive of auxins in the product. Overall, it is hard to draw conclusions based off the results of this experiment. The first movement started off with an eerie introduction, with the first two notes morphing into a birdcall as well as main theme but a very magical sound. It made for a very soothing, romantic time. Throughout the piece I felt as if it told a story as most music does, what I came to believe it was a love story. The Allegro begins in the cello with the second Wayfarer song, Ging heut morgen Ubers Feld, (I Walked this Morning over the Field). With a light and happy tone in the beginning as if two lovers had just met, this was the main theme of this movement. Suddenly there was a deep, heavy part maybe one of despair in paradise but that only lasted for a short period as it came to a victorious ending of happily ever after. (Kahn) The second movement Scherzo, gave more of an elegant, royal ball sound. Where the women dress in gowns and the men in tuxedos, while drinking wine and dancing the night away. This movement has the rhythm of the Landler, an Australian folk dance. It conforms to the classic minuet and trio form though Mahler takes the first section beyond the standard repeat structure. While contemporary society demonstrate an appreciation of William Shakespeare s play King Richard III (1851) it is not one of his plays they can readily connect with. Al Pacino s docu drama, Looking for Richard, (henceforth Looking for...) (1996) attempts to bridge that gap through intertextual connections. Pacino transformed this scene so that it lead to a deeper understanding by his mainly secular 20th century audience. Originally, the absorbance measured for samples in 5°C and 70°C were 1.700 and 0.845; the concentrations were 425 μm and 180 μm respectively. However, because both of these absorbance readings were greater than the highest absorbance value in our standard curve (Figure 1), a calculation of diluted concentration for these two samples was necessary. Therefore, using the formula Cu = Cd/D where Cu = concentration of undiluted (original) sample, Cd = concentration of diluted sample and D = dilution (which is 1/5 in this experiment), we calculated that the diluted concentration for the sample in 5°C is 85 μm and for the sample in 70°C is 36 μm. As we inserted these data on the graph (Figure 2), concentration of betacyanin for samples in 5°C and 70°C still dominate in comparison to others. This sudden increase of concentration allowed us to understand that the tonoplast membrane is easier to be damage in extreme temperature. Discussion Our original hypothesis about the effect of high temperature on beet cell membrane was correct; as temperature increases, the concentration of betacyanin increases as well. The beet root sample in temperature 70°C had a higher absorbance value and concentration of betacyanin in comparison to other samples due to the membrane damage. The experiment of lipid membranes performed by the University of Osaka concluded a similar result. They found that the membranes were stable at physiological ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

An ergogenic aid is any substance or device that increases or enhances energy use, production, or recovery giving the athlete an advantage in competition. Not all ergogenic aids are illegal; many such as dietary supplements, vitamin supplements, or protein supplements are widely used and accepted, however, many are illegal and are banned by many athletic committees(Ahrendt,1). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The effectiveness of blood doping is unsure, researches don t know if it truly works. Some reports state that the added RBC and hemoglobin increase the viscosity of the blood, which in turn actually decreases the VO2 max(Goldman,50). The increase in viscosity can lead to an overload of work in the liver and kidney, which could lead to future problems in the liver and kidney (Shipe,77). Another precaution is if the blood that is injected does not come from the person it is being injected into there is a possibility of getting a disease such as AIDS. Blood doping is nearly impossible to discover in tests because the athlete is usually injecting their own blood into their system. The increased hemoglobin and RBC in the body can be accredited to high altitude workouts (working at high altitudes for extended amounts of time can increase hemoglobin and RBC s). Even though it is near impossible to test for the Olympic Committee still bans its use in hope to find a test. As stated by Eggers, long time Muslim New Orleans resident Zeitoun, was forced out his home by government officials with guns and was threatened to be shot even after he showed his I.D. confirming he is a United States Citizen and a New Orleans resident. Egger gives us a brief taste of government animosity, as Zeitoun arrived on dry land, and was immediately handcuffed and thrown in a white van. The capstone presentation, as well as class, helped me to practice strength based language and be conscious of how I describe my clients when presenting them to others. It can be a habit to use negative language to describe a problem saturated story and unintentionally describe a patient s story in a way that comes off as stigmatizing. This class helped me become conscious and tactful about how I word sensitive circumstances. It was a great experience to present my patient s case to the class and practice being thoughtful of how I portrayed my patient s presenting problem to the group. A patient frequently comes to a social worker with a variety of problems, and it can be overwhelming trying to determine where to start with the patient. In capstone class, we discussed presenting problems and determining which problem is more appropriate to focus on within the agency setting. There are several ways in which tax rates can be determined, and all of them have some form of a strong argument behind them. The flat tax is the best option as, by nature, it is the most fair. Tax rates are measured by percentages, and when taxes are collected by percentages, the wealthy are already paying more money than the poor. For example, if a flat tax rate of 20% is in place, and one person has an annual income of $150,000 while another person has an annual income of $40,000. The focus mainly remains on mercantilism the most prevalent economic system for Western Society at this time. Smith s simple and in depth explanations of even the most basic economic concepts allow for someone with little to no prior knowledge of economics to easily grasp his meaning, and coupling these explanations with real life examples provides even more teaching power to Smith s words. The text is split up between five different books of varying length covering the division of labor, capital, the progress of opulence, the mercantile system, and the role of government. The first book of The Wealth of Nations begins with discussions on the division of labor, which Smith considers to be the greatest improvements for the productivity of labor. To illustrate his point, Smith gives an example of the pin making industry as a case where division of labor does not just increase productivity proportionally to how much the tasks have been split, but exponentially. Smith explains that, a singular pin maker unknowledgable of most tasks required in pin making could not make more than twenty pins in one day; whereas, ten pin makers each taking over some portion of the process can make upwards of 48,000 pins in one day. In the same way that the division of labor applies to pin making so too does it apply to all industries. Smith goes on to give three ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
