Monologue About Gays
Jeremy, You know, I am sure being the owner and supervisor you already knew everything about me
before I said anything. Plus, you obviously sent every gay guy in Lexington to that window...I also
believe... AGAIN... you knew I d land in your chair, curiosity killed the cat, you know I am a very
curious cat. I can t wait to hear YOUR story, but I d rather see you first with a hug and kiss. Plus, you
probably already placed it in front of me and I didn t know it was about you. Regardless, I can t wait
to see you. I was a mess from day #1! But a hot crazy mess for you, Shittt. Plus waking up my first

Tenets Behind Change Theory
Action research is simply defined as research in action in an institution (Argryis and Schon, 1996).
Lewin (1997) is the researcher behind change theory. Understanding the tenets behind change theory
and its application to this product would or would have not demonstrated the student attitudes toward
other cultures when researching other cultures. The theoretical underpinnings of action research are
based on the following three steps by Kurt Lewin (1997) called a process of change or Change theory:
Plan, action, and results. Change theory rallies for a three step process by disassembling a negative
mindset in order to modify it for a new way of thinking. These three steps consist of unfreezing,
changing, and then freezing (Lewin, 1997). Under ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The capstone product helped to incorporate ethnography, a testing system, which measured human
behavior, and pre post surveys to document the pre and post beliefs, student behaviors, and
paralinguistic cues (Ladner, 2014). Argryis and Schon (1994) built upon the work of Kurt Lewin by
focusing on the behaviors of stakeholders and then considered how governing variables could drive
these behaviors in institutions. Argryis and Schon (1994) determined that these variables were
distinguishable between two theories called theory in use and the espoused theory. The espoused
theory represented the intended behaviors based on individuals values, but the theory in use applied to
the behaviors that were occurring. These governing variables fell under two models of systems
thinking, which were model 1 and model 2. Both of these models were based on theories in use.
Model 1 behaviors focused on governing variables such as controlling the environment, believing that
the personal views were the only ones, and being defensive in nature. Model 2 behaviors exhibited
shared control, where a freedom of choice was permitted and relationships were marginally

A Brief Note On The New Fiber Camera Test

Alarms were developed and added to the mixers that will alert operations when a mixer did not get all
of its chemicals. This alarm has helped us detect failing valves. Additionally, the OH model was
modified so that turbo temperatures are reduced when a turbo reaches OH set point. This has
prevented small production upsets from getting worse due to over hydrolyzed dope.
Solus Free Acid Root Cause Determination Worked on a team to determine why Solus had elevated
levels of free acid after only a short time in storage. It was determined that the root cause is inherent to
low viscosity esters and is not something that can be changed with different stabilization or new bags.
Online Flashed Acid Supply Determined it is not a cost effective project Many yard tanks in building

replace. I investigated the potential of going to an online supply of flashed acid. This would allow
yard tank 16 to be used in an alternate service and would reduce the number of yard tanks that need to
be rebuilt. It was determined through dynamic modeling with the Advanced Controls Group that

Essay The Pagan Faith and Christian Holidays
Since man first had conscious thought, he has sought the answers to life affirming questions. How was
life created? Who created this world? What lies after death? What is the meaning of life? Time has
created many answers to these questions. Many of these answers are lost in time, along with the
peoples who believed them. As archaeologists search the past for a better history of the planet, old
questions are answered and new questions asked. There are also ideas that have only been transformed
through history, reshaped by society.
There are common themes in the answers to those questions. When they are combined, believed and
ritualized, they become religions. The polytheists of ancient civilizations worshipped the ... Show

Christianity began in what was the Roman Empire. Largely ignored by the masses, it was a small
monotheistic cult in a polytheistic society. The simplicity of it quickly attracted converts (Veyne 525).
Where once they only had Roman idols, a new one was added, that of Jesus Christ. It is not to say that
they simply quit believing in the Gods and Goddesses that had safeguarded their crops, homes and
families, only that this God offering salvation was added (Veyne 545). Popular society saw a world
under control of demons, and to ensure their safety they worshiped a variety of Gods and Goddesses
(Veyne 396). As the cult spread, new beliefs were added. These include the forgiveness of sin, the
resurrection of Jesus, the belief in one God (Noss 636).
The rapid growth of Christianity caused alarm in many people. Between 195 and 212, Christians were
sporadically persecuted. After 212, persecution slowed, and they were allowed to exist (Frend 294). A
major force in the popularization of Christianity was when Constantine converted. Constantine, a late
Roman Emperor, discontinued the policy outlawing Christianity, and made it an acceptable religion in
the Roman Empire (Frend 294). Christianity spread when the clergy canonized saints, building
temples and altering rituals to match those in the Roman Empire. Marriages also brought Christianity
new followers. It was often the women of the house that led

What Are The Legal Issues Related To The Ford Motor Company
Memorandum TO: Jonathan Foster, Head of the Legal Analytics Department FROM: Sawyer Folks,
Business Analyst DATE: April 27, 2015 SUBJECT: Ford Motor Company Background The Ford
Motor Company has had a rather tarnished legal history. Ford got into some hot water in the 1990s
and 2000s over multiple safety scandals. One of these scandals occurred in 1996 and involved faulty
ignition switches that would short and cause fires. The ignition switch scandal then led to Ford being
sued by State Farm for neglecting to release information about the faulty ignition switches and their
tendency to start fires. Perhaps the most famous Ford safety scandal of all took place during the 1970s
when Ford released the Pinto. As a consequence of a poor design, the fuel tank was located near the
cars bumper and had virtually zero protection mechanisms in place. This design flaw led to many fatal
explosions from the car being struck from behind. Ford ended up having to pay millions of dollars in
civil cases as a result of injuries and deaths related to the design of the Pinto. Ford had to fork over
$125 million dollars in damages in just one civil case, although this was a special case. There were
other cases in which Ford executives were found innocent of any murder charges at all. There was a
very diverse and wide spectrum of cases related to the Pinto incident. Ford does not only suffer from
legal issues related to a lack of safety, but also to legal issues involving environmental

America s First Black President Essay
For many years, American Presidents were viewed as being white and powerful leaders. Why were
they only white? Is it because Americans felt Blacks were not smart enough to run a country on their
own? African Americans were viewed as less dominate people and have been discriminated because
of the color of their skin. In 2008, Barack Obama was elected President of the United States making
him the first black president ever. In this paper, I will discuss how Barack makes a change and if
America can accept him as our first black president. Barack Hussein Obama was born on August 4,
1961 in Honolulu Hawaii. He is of mixed parentage: his father, a black African born in Kenya, while
his mother, a white American that came from Kansas. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He is the first African American to in history to run on a major ticket. In the beginning of his
campaign a lot of people questioned his authority and wanted to know could he handle the
responsibilities of a president for such a big country. I want to know how deep is your love for the
people, what kind of courage have you manifested in the stances that you have and what are you
willing to sacrifice for. This is the fundamental question. I don t care what color you are. You see, you
can t take black people for granted just cause your black . (C.West) These questions just made Obama
a much stronger person and he continued to fight.
Obama portrayed himself as the candidate of change. His slogan was Change we can believe in . His
Republican opponent was Sen. John McCain. To make sure that his campaigns and speeches would
help him win the election, Obama began fundraising and broke previous records for presidential
primary and general campaigns. The campaign avoided using public campaign funds, and raised all of
its money privately. They had raised more than $650 million itself. (H.Cooper) He also had television
advertisements that ran in 18 states including traditionally Republican states such as Alaska and North
Carolina. (J.Harwood) His campaign spent $27 million on advertisements against McCain and
Republican National Committee s combined a total of $24.6 million. (J.Rutenberg)

The Three Levels Of Organizational Culture
Organizational Culture is an anthropological term that refers to the values, belief, norms and ways of
doing things that are shared by the organizational members (Knights and Willmott, 2012). While

refers to cultural artefacts or observable culture which are the tangible phenomena such as traditions,

the organizational culture. The other two less visible levels are Organizational Values refer to the

Gilgamesh Goal Of Eternal Life
When Enkidu dies, Gilgamesh seeks out Utnapishtim to learn the secret to eternal life. We are now
seeing Gilgamesh fear death. The basis of what Gilgamesh gets out of his time with Utnapishtim is
that it is impossible to know what death is, and human life is incredibly brief, so he just have to deal
with his circumstances. A Christian s ultimate goal in life is to glorify God and to have eternal life
with Jesus Christ. To live is Christ is saying that we should live our life serving Christ and achieving
Christ centered excellence. To die is gain means that a Christian s death is, in a sense, a return on their
investment. We get to spend the rest of our eternal life with Christ. Gilgamesh s ultimate goal was to

Comparison Between Hamlet And Aristotelian Tragedy
Aristotle describes tragedy as beginning of a staid deed, that is total and of high degree.
Tragedy he defines: Is a sign of action that is serious, full and of a firm magnitude?
In language decorated with each sort being artistic adornments, the some types being create in divide
ingredients of the play. Not narrative form, but the form of action, with incidents arousing pity and
fear affecting the purgation of these emotions.
Tragedy with Aristotle is consist of always with personality of high degree , almost with rulers or
princes or kings, if not with members of grand homes, whose fight or crisis are of open moment.

Moreover, they have as their centre of notice, the tragic leading actor whose tragic error eventually

involved and above all, the loss of their tragic hero conveys about other tales of sadness. Reviews on

The Importance Of Grade Grubbing
Grade grubbing is also referred to as grade lawyering or grade begging but is defined as the act of a
student attempting to ask, persuade or argue with a professor to raise their grade with no legitimate
reason other than their own personal benefit or pride ( Why You Should Not Engage in Grade
Grubbing, n.d.). Grade grubbers, or students who partake in the action of grade grubbing, are found in
education level and can range from low GPA to high GPA students (Warner, 2014). Since many people
see their transcript as a reflection of their intelligence, the need for higher grades has become more
important to students. I view grade grubbing to be an unacceptable practice as long as teachers and
professors provide a proper, detailed and solid outline for a student s success.
Grade grubbing is unfair to the entire class and to the instructor. One student should not get a grade
boost for begging and not doing any extra work. It is unfair to the students to have someone who put
in the same amount of work do better than them for no reason. As for the instructor, it is insulting to
have a student not respect them enough to accept their final grade and question their methods and
grade scale without reason. It is against policy and against moral to put an instructor in this
uncomfortable position; matters can get worse if the student is aggressive and threatening (Magness,
2016). Most instructors create a well planned syllabus for their students and it is offensive to try to pry

When I asked him what his idea of what a man and a woman was supposed to be growing up he

expected women were your typical stay at home parent who took care of the cleaning, cooking and the

This ability to work gave men the upper hand, if a woman couldn t work, and provide, she had very
little power over her destiny. In fact, it was not until the Equal Credit Opportunity Act of 1974 that it
became illegal to refuse a credit card to a woman based on her gender. That s right, up until 1974
credit was denied to women unless she was married and her husband cosigned. According to the

It has the correct fluid amount for the patient and providing an appropriate balance of electrolytes. The
dose was calculated from the Handbook of Nonprescription Drugs by taking the mild treatment for
dehydration 50 mL/kg. I used this value since TA s diarrhea was mild. TA s weight is 14.54 kg; this
value is used to get the mL value to administer (727 mL). Then converted to fluid ounces for ease of
patient understanding (24.57 fluid ounces). So I took this value and divided it by four hours to get the
dose per hour. This resulted to 6.14 fluid ounces which I rounded down to 6 fluid ounces per hour. 5
ounces of pedialyte is to be administered for every loose stool TA has. The value also comes from the
Handbook of Nonprescription Drugs by taking 10 mL/kg times 14.5 kg and converted to fluid ounces.
I selected this product because it being a ready to use product is a benefit of the product and the
formulation is simple to use. It s osmolarity is very related to the guidelines of WHO s 2006 ORS.
Also, it comes in various flavors which will promote patient compliance and TA will enjoy using the

Dramatic Change In Night By Elie Wiesel
In Elie Wiesel s memoir, Night , readers see a dramatic change from the young, sensitive and spiritual
individual to a, boy with the mindset of an adult that is spiritually dead and is unemotional. Elie shows
this in his memoir by rewriting what he saw, thought, or what he heard while in concentration camps,
this occurs, in the three sections of the memoir.
In the first section of the book, Eile begins the transformation from a sensitive and spiritual boy to the
opposite. Elie starts describes the first night, he was in a concentration camp, and how that affected

As Elie describes what occurred after his father s death, There were not prayers at his grave. No
candles were lit to his memory. His last word was my name. A summons, to which I did not respond
(Wiesel, 106). In this, Elie describes what happened after his father died, and how he was religiously
summoned, but there was no faith left in him to respond. I believe this is this is the ultimate low in
Elie s religion, seeing that he could not even pray over his father, or respond to the summons. This
might be the low of his religion, the low of Elie s emotion is quite horrible. Elie sees himself for the
first time after being liberated, From the depths of the mirror, a corpse gazed back at me. The look in

his own self as he came out of the Holocaust and wanting to now live a normal life. Through Elie s
use of a 3rd person possessive pronoun, he is able to create such meaning behind only a singular word.

Script Analysis Of ( 500 ) Days Of Summer
Script Analysis (500) Days of Summer
(500) Days of Summer is a film directed by Marc Webb. This film is about Tom, a lovesick romantic
who is blinded side when Summer, the love of his life, dumps him. He falls in love with her. But she
doesn t fall in love with him. He shifts back and forth through various periods of their 500 days
together to try to figure out where things went wrong.
For the most part, Webb was successful in translating the emotion of the script to the motion picture.
Each page of the script was about this hopeless romantic named Tom and his recollection of where
things went wrong with his girlfriend, Summer. Tom was retelling the story of how he met Summer in
bits and pieces. These pieces were essentially flashbacks. But in a way, they were transitions that
worked in really well into the film by the use of the amount of days he was with Summer. So instead
of having flashbacks all over the film with poor transitional cues, the screenplay was written with the
number of days that tied in with the event for that certain day. This helped keep the emotions of the
film intact because of the transitional cue cards. Each day was shown on the screen with a picture of a
tree that changes with the mood of scene and Tom. Which is supposed be comparable with the
changes of the seasons which is now the feelings of Tom. Another thing that was omitted from the
film that was in the screenplay was the use of animation for certain parts of the script. In the script,

Acute Lupus Pneumonitis
Interstitial lung disease is much less common in SLE, being more frequent as disease duration
increases. Nonspecific interstitial pneumonia is the most common histological pattern found in
patients with SLE (Torre and Harari, 2011). Acute lupus pneumonitis is a rare manifestation of lupus,
with an incidence ranging between 1 12%. Patients with acute lupus pneumonitis usually present with
fever, dyspnea, cough, tachypnea, and pleu¬ritic chest pain. Physical findings commonly include basal
crackles, and, when severe, central cyanosis. Chest radiographs and CT scans show diffuse alveolar

Hematologic manifestations: Hematological abnormalities are common in SLE and are the most
common presenting manifestation. All the cellular elements of the blood coagulation pathway can be
affected in SLE patients (Sasidharan et al., 2012). Anemia is a common manifestation in patients with
SLE. The most common forms of anemia are autoimmune hemolytic anemia, iron deficiency anemia,
anemia of chronic disease, drug induced myelotoxicity, anemia of chronic renal failure and rarely
types such as pure red cell aplasia, B12 deficiency anemia and myelofibrosis (Samohvalov et al.,
2012). Leukopenia with lymphopenia is also a characteristic feature of SLE. Interestingly, when this
occurs in the absence of cytotoxic drug therapy used in the treatment of lupus, it is not a significant
risk of infection (Leandro et al., 2003). Autoimmune thrombocytopenic purpura can be a presenting
feature of SLE or may occur at any time in the course of the illness (Ziakas et al., 2005). About 3 16%
of patients with idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) eventually develop systemic lupus.

Womanhood In The Latin American Culture
In latin america one of the most celebrated and well known events is when a girl reaches the age of
fifteen. No matter the difference in details from country to country the overall purpose is to celebrate
the coming of age, so to speak. It is something that has been glorified over many generations because
it signifies that you have entered womanhood in the latin american culture. At the tender age of five
years old I actively participated as the flower girl that walks in before the court and the quinceanera.
From that moment on I fell in love with what would be my destiny in ten years time, unaware of all
the details that play a role in hosting such a big celebration.
Essentially my godparents were celebrated along with my fifteen years

The Federalist Paper By James Madison
The Federalist Papers were 85 essays that were published in 1787 and 1788. They were anonymous
and always signed by Publius. Publius was actually 3 men, Alexander Hamilton, James Madison and
John Jay. They wrote the papers to convince the people of New York to vote to ratify the Constitution.
These essays were published in newspapers throughout the state of New York. Federalist 10 was
written by James Madison and was titled The Utility of the Union as a Safeguard Against Domestic
Faction and Insurrection (continued). This essay was a continuation of Federalist 9. Federalists like
James Madison and Alexander Hamilton thought that if the states continued to maintain complete
control, each state would become its own nation, which would leave the U.S. bankrupt. They believe
that a strong central government would have the ability to stop this from occurring. Factions were
James Madison s worst fear. Madison believed that factions were what were going to keep states
divided and more likely to turn to individual nations. James Madison s opinions are correct. As
defined by Madison, a faction is a group of people, whether a majority or minority, who come together
by some common impulse of passion, or of interest adverse to the rights of other citizens, or to the
permanent and aggregate interests of the community. Not all political groups are factions, though most
are. While they are rare, there are political groups out there that are made up of people with all

Article Info ABSTRACT
Subspace model identification (SMI) method is the effective method in identifying dynamic state
space linear multivariable systems. Subspace identification, a sequence of state vectors can be
obtained directly from the input and output data. From a numerical point of view, the SMI algorithms
are not appropriate for online implementation because of the SVD computational complexity. For
industrial applications, it is essential to have online recursive algorithms for model identification,
where parameters can vary in time. Indeed, in many online identification scenarios, it is important to
update the model as time goes on with a reduced computational cost. The main problem with recursive
subspace identification is the SVD computation that is burdensome to update. Thus, it is necessary to
find the alternative algorithms in order to apply the subspace concept in a recursive framework. In this
paper, recursive subspace identification algorithm based on the propagator method which avoid the
SVD computation is proposed.

Turnus In The Aeneid Essay
eus is Aeneas foil hence one of the most important characters of The Aeneid. Read The Aeneid by
Virgil (readings listed in your syllabus) taking careful note the actions of Turnus and discuss the
following: The death of Turnus is sudden and shocking. What does the manner of his death indicate
about Turnus and what does it show about Aeneas? Is Turnus a hero or a victim? The Aeneid by Virgil
is a classic poem that describes the way the Trojans survived after the Greeks invaded and destroyed
their hometown, Troy. The Poem explains the Trojans movements and how they found the city of
Rome that was ruled by King Latinus at the time. The King at the time was happy to open his arms to
the Trojans, as he believed in a prophecy that stated that it was meant to be that his daughter had to get
married to a foreigner. It only made sense for the King to welcome the Trojans, as by doing so he
would increase the chances of the prophecy being fulfilled. While this was the King s hopes plan s, his
wife Amata wanted Lavania to marry the King of Rutilians, Turnus who ruled an ethnic group in Italy.
The conflict rose when King Latinus decided to hand his daughter s hand to Aeneas, and Turnus hot

Analyzing The Three Motivational Categories Of Terrorism
The three motivational categories of terrorism are the rationally motivated terrorist, the
psychologically motivated terrorist, and the culturally motivated terrorist (Bartol, Curt, Anne Bartol,
2012). A rationally motivated terrorist tends to consider the goals of the organization while being
mindful of the possible consequences of their actions. Psychologically motivated terrorists are driven
by a sense of failure or inadequacy finding direction in charismatic leaders. Culturally motivated
terrorist s actions are based of fear of irreparable damages to their way of living, national heritage, or
culture done which has either occurred or is going to happen due to the actions an organization,

Native Americans During The Colonization
Native Americans during 1785 1829 were affected by western expansion because of the removal of
Native Americans from the land, white settlers attempting to assimilate Native Americans to their
culture, and were involved in battles between the a Native Americans and white setters which led to
the depleting number of Native Americans. Distorted perspectives of european settlers led them to
view Native Americans as uncivilized savages. As the Renaissance reached its ending term Europeans
saw their religion (Christianity) as an advanced culture. When Europeans arrived to the New World in
1493 settlers discovered the native inhabitants were bizarre to the new settlers. Further in time Settlers
observed their culture and viewed their religion as evil and thought of the Natives God as the Devil in
disguise. As a consequence of their perspective of their religion Settlers thought of them as animals,
non human and branded the term savages to Native Americans. Since Europeans viewed their religion
as advanced setters thought of the idea of emerging Native Americans into the white man culture and
wanted to civilize the Native Americans. Native Americans didn t like the idea of being rooted to the
culture of the Europeans, so Europeans thought of the solution of moving the Native Americans west
so the native could preserve their culture. Furthermore igniting the reaction of removal of Natives

among the youth has increased sharply.

mood as well as among those who have been angered by provocation.
Is Violence Learned?
Violent behavior is strongly affected by learning. Rewards obtained by aggression today increase its
use tomorrow. Such rewards come in two flavors:
Positive Reinforcement: when desired outcome are obtained
Negative Reinforcement: when undesirable outcomes are prevented or stopped
Based on this approach Albert Bandura presented psychological social learning theory. It emphasizes
that we learn from the example of others as well as from direct experience with rewards and
punishments. Models influence the prosocial, helpful behavior. They also affect antisocial, aggressive
behavior. Research has amply demonstrated that a wide range of aggressive models can elicit a wide
range of aggressive imitation.
The impact of adult R rated, sexually violent material on sexually related attitudes and beliefs was
investigated in a field study that arranged for 115 college students to attend movies at campus theatres

what does it tell us about the Ancient Greek culture? The Herakles and the Erymanthian Boar is a neck
amphora. Neck amphorae were characterized as storage jars with necks narrower than the body. They
were used for storing and transporting wine and oil. (Encyclopedia Britannica) At the top of the
amphorae were circular openings, or mouths, in which the wine or oil was poured or drained. Herakles

The American Epidemic of Obesity
As Americans we have made food not only a way to live but all help us with life events, whether
emotional times or celebratory events we turn to food. However our society has been consumed with
unhealthy food options readily available. This has in turn caused a huge medical epidemic in America.
Obesity has and will put people at risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and some types of cancer.
More than one third of American adults are obese (Ogden et al., 2012). By looking in depth at the
obesity epidemic in America through the three major sociological perspectives (structural
functionalist, social conflict, and symbolic interactionist) we are able to better discern this medical
issue impacting the health of American people. Structural Functionalist Perspective The structural
functionalist perspective would argue obesity in America is a necessary epidemic to our society. After
all, structural functionalist believe that all mechanisms that exist a definite meaning and are useful to
society as a whole. Structural functionalist could say that having overweight and obese people in the
world causes us to put attention on the true problems of health care. Obesity for a structural
functionalist is crucial for the continuous learning of human health and also for our love and hate
relationship with food. Structural functional would also argue that having an obese population might
inspire others to avoid the path of unhealthy habits. It would help people to make

Captain America Character Traits
Genuine compassion is a difficult trait to find today in a world so full of hatred and violence. One hero
of fiction that we could learn from to combat this negativity, and I especially have, is Captain America
(Steve Rogers) from the Marvel Comics Universe. He is more than just a character in my favorite
movies, he has taught me to be kind, loyal, and courageous and I believe our world could use the same
compassion that he displays. Captain America s loyalty is one of his most striking traits. In the second
film of the Captain America trilogy, he discovered that his best friend was the villain he had been
hunting the entire movie. Rogers did not turn his back on his friend, and even refused to fight him
periodically throughout the movie. Instead, Rogers helped rehabilitate his friend back from the brain
damage he suffered. In a similar fashion, I have learned to defend my friends from others, and remain
loyal to them. When arguments break out, I look to understand everyone s side of the story and I never

The novel, The Picture of Dorian Gray, written by Oscar Wilde originally appeared in Lippincott s
Monthly Magazine in 1890. It was then published in 1891, in book form, containing six additional
chapters with revisions. The first reviews of Dorian Gray were mostly unfavorable. It was condemned
for its speculative treatment of immoral or at least uncomfortable subjects. A review in the St. James s

Wilde s lifestyle may have caused him to be snubbed in certain social situations. It maybe that he drew
on his own experiences to create the atmosphere of scandal in the last chapters, even though, other
than murder, the protagonist s sins are never named and only briefly alluded to.
Wilde was obviously upset by the public controversy concerning moral issues that occurred after the
appearance in Lippincott s. The reason he added the six additional chapters was to take on more of a
conventional Victorian nature and to tone down the passages which may have been described as homo
erotic in spirit.
The prejudice against Wilde is best demonstrated in the reviews of his previous short stories and prose
fiction as compared to Dorian Gray. Even though his works are consistent in style and theme, while
Dorian Gray was criticized severely, the earlier stories were praised not only for their morality but also
for their literary competence.

Privacy has expanded to more complex forms including people s information displayed throughout
technology (Kasper 71). Technology has become very effective for a thriving generation, but it also
possesses a handful of flaws that counter the benefits. Technologies help people post and deliver a
message in a matter of seconds in order to get a message spread quickly. It also gives individuals the
power to be the person they want to be by only showing one side of themselves. But sometimes
information that had intentions of remaining protected gets out. That information is now open for all
human eyes to see. This information, quite frankly, becomes everybody s information and can be

Essay On Outsourcing American Jobs
Outsourcing American Jobs
Outsourcing, no word in today s workforce is so loved or hated. Depending on who you are it is the
greatest thing ever or an evil act by money hungry businesses at the expense of American workers.
But what is the truth? Is it good? Is it bad? Is it both? Perhaps more importantly, what is it exactly?
Many people think that outsourcing is jobs that were held in this country going somewhere else. That
is not entirely accurate. Outsourcing is actually one company paying another to do some work for it.
Outsourcing can be as simple as paying a company to paint your building. Or it can be as complex as

the company (probably more so the higher you go up) and it can be good for stock holders if it is a

and use it for marketing or innovations which can intern help the company make more money.
Saving money isn?t the only reason to outsource though. In Dash?s article the number two reason
given was ?Having access to experts? that was given by 38% of the companies. But what does that
mean? Simply put it means that good help can be hard to find. And if you?re a company that needs to

Effects Of School Uniforms Out Of Style

School Uniforms: Out of Style School uniforms have been around for decades within many private
and parochial schools. In recent years more and more public schools are implementing their own
uniforms hoping to see a change for the good within their schools. Upon researching the effects of
these uniforms, it is clear to see that school uniforms are unnecessary concepts that decrease student
individuality and do not actually help school attendance or test scores. Prior to taking a strong stance
on this controversial topic, it is crucial to understand the background of this concept. According to Pro
Con.org, The first recorded use of standardized dress in education may have been in England in 1222,
when the Archbishop of Canterbury mandated that students wear a robe like outfit called the cappa
clausa. (Pro Con.org). It s not until the 16th century England that the modern educational uniform
comes about. As years passed, school uniforms began being associated with upper class schools. In the
United States, school uniforms followed the English uniform norms and tended to be implemented
only within private and parochial schools. In 1987, the first public schools to adopt a school uniform
were in Maryland and Washington, DC. As more public schools began to take in their own school
uniforms, many different legal cases involving this movement began to arise. With cases ruling both

is the underlying philosophy of terrorist organizations and what ultimately fuels terrorism. Extremist
groups seek to instill fear among citizens to prompt the governments to adopt policies that the
extremists desire. The key premise of Dying to Win is that terrorism is not irrational, but rather just
one among a number of political strategies. Terrorist organizations are guided by the aspiration to
achieve a particular goal; to expel a foreign army from their territory and to instill fear in societies
around the world to prevent a military invasion.
Suicide Terrorism is strategic and deliberate as evident through three main properties and not through
irrational behavior or religious fanaticism. Timing, nationalist goals, and target selection are three
universal patterns supported by data in which suicide terrorism can be deemed a tactical phenomenon.
Suicide attacks are organized and

The Giver Is A Dystopia
The Giver is a Dystopia, because the definition of dystopia is ¨An imagined place or state in which
everything is unpleasant or bad, typically a totalitarian or environmentally degraded one.¨ Some
characteristics of a dystopia are ¨Citizens are perceived to be under constant surveillance.¨ And
¨Information, independent thought, and freedom are restricted.¨ Also ¨The society is an illusion of a
perfect utopian world.¨ All of these describe The Giver perfectly. The community in The Giver is an
example of a dystopia because it has the appearance of perfection, but on the inside, it is the opposite.
Evidence that describes the society being an illusion is people getting killed for being born as a twin,
or making a mistake. The society doesn t

The Go Between
In his novel The Go Between L.P Hartley s writes that the past is a foreign country ; they do things
differently . Even though I agree to a point with Hartley I cannot fully agree because in order for us to
move forward we must use the past as an important learning experience for us. Due to this I
recommend that more emphasis be placed on history in schools and more reforms be made in the
curriculum . The following suggestions are important for the realization of these reforms for example,
more importance should be placed on lessons in school through early learning i.e. at the early stages of
school, teaching should involve more documentary evidence and finally educational excursions should
be organized more frequently .

final good imports from Mexico consist of its own [U.S.] value added. As Mexican officials have
pointed out, For every dollar that Mexico earns from exports, 50 cents are spent on American goods .
Even though the U.S imports most of the apparel and footwear, it is worth mentioning that those are
innovated, designed and retailed in the U.S itself. These initiatives gave jobs to almost four million
Americans. (U.S. Chamber of Commerce, 2015, p5)
This section discusses the benefits of trade agreements on the U.S job market. The additional trade
increased combined output of goods and services by around $300 billion. This in effect created or
sustained jobs for 5.4 million Americans. This is the highest job market boost U.S had in recent times.
Free trade reduces U.S jobs, but the statistics from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) in fact rejects
that thought. They claimed that U.S manufactures added 800,000 of net jobs. After the North
American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) came into effect the unemployment rate was reduced. The
bureau also claimed that the remuneration tied to jobs related to international trade was 18% higher
than other jobs. (U.S. Chamber of Commerce, 2015)
The implementation of trade agreements improved the economic condition of various kinds of
manufacturing industries. Small and medium size industries as well benefitted from and they consisted
of one third of exports. Every state in the country benefitted from trade agreements. Even

The Great Depression Of The 1930 S
John Maynard Keynes was the most influential economist of the 1900 s and many of his ideas were
adopted by Franklin D. Roosevelt to combat the Great Depression of the 1930 s. With the passing of
the economic crisis in 2008, countless articles have been published supporting Keynes and his
economic thought. He originally investigated the origins of the Great Depression and remodeled the
field of economics with a basic conclusion: economies recover from downturns by spending money.
Keynes theorized that during financial downfalls, the public becomes frightened and decreases
spending, this leads to more layoffs, which in turn leads to an even greater decline in consumption,
creating a vicious cycle. Many of Keynes theories in The General Theory of Employment, Interest,
and Money (1936) are accurate, but are often overlooked in the legislative sector, due to political
agendas triumphing over logic. When the capital development of a country becomes a by product of
the activities of a casino, the job is likely to be ill done. The measure of success attained by Wall
Street . . . cannot be claimed as one of the outstanding triumphs of laissez faire capitalism. I will be
addressing Keynes concept of business cycles in The General Theory of Employment, Interest, and
Money mainly focusing on the 2008 financial crisis and analyze whether or not these arguments are
more or less accurate than his other conclusions. I strongly believe that many of his ideas are true as

Technology And The Digital Revolution
Cultural heritage sites are spaces full of rich culture and innovation, providing abundant opportunities
for visitors to learn and explore. They are valued for their ability to broaden knowledge, expand minds
and deliver new experiences to sites of cultural and historical value. Digital technology is being used
to combat some of the main problems that cultural heritage sites face, including inaccessibility, the
lack of connection between visitors and objects, and the safety of objects during travelling exhibitions.
No longer bound to a specific site or to physical limitations, technology is allowing modern museums
to create unique experiences and encourage visitor participation in unprecedented ways. Increased
access to the internet has the benefit of online sources being instantly available to anyone, anywhere,
giving entertainment, higher levels of connectivity, shared knowledge, and the ability to attract
younger and more diverse audiences. Spaces of cultural heritage have always shown the changes and
developments of human history, and as the digital revolution has changed what it means to be a human
being, it is natural that such spaces are utilising digital technology. As Sarah Kenderdine, the director
of the Laboratory for Innovation in Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums, suggests; tradition
must be re discovered and re invented by each generation, and this is being done by the creation of
digital, interactive, multi sensory experiences that have the power

  • 4. Tenets Behind Change Theory Action research is simply defined as research in action in an institution (Argryis and Schon, 1996). Lewin (1997) is the researcher behind change theory. Understanding the tenets behind change theory and its application to this product would or would have not demonstrated the student attitudes toward other cultures when researching other cultures. The theoretical underpinnings of action research are based on the following three steps by Kurt Lewin (1997) called a process of change or Change theory: Plan, action, and results. Change theory rallies for a three step process by disassembling a negative mindset in order to modify it for a new way of thinking. These three steps consist of unfreezing, changing, and then freezing (Lewin, 1997). Under ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Argryis and Schon (1994) determined that these variables were distinguishable between two theories called theory in use and the espoused theory. The espoused theory represented the intended behaviors based on individuals values, but the theory in use applied to the behaviors that were occurring. These governing variables fell under two models of systems thinking, which were model 1 and model 2. Both of these models were based on theories in use. Model 1 behaviors focused on governing variables such as controlling the environment, believing that the personal views were the only ones, and being defensive in nature. What lies after death? What is the meaning of life? Time has created many answers to these questions. Many of these answers are lost in time, along with the peoples who believed them. As archaeologists search the past for a better history of the planet, old questions are answered and new questions asked. Christianity began in what was the Roman Empire. Largely ignored by the masses, it was a small monotheistic cult in a polytheistic society. The simplicity of it quickly attracted converts (Veyne 525). Where once they only had Roman idols, a new one was added, that of Jesus Christ. It is not to say that they simply quit believing in the Gods and Goddesses that had safeguarded their crops, homes and families, only that this God offering salvation was added (Veyne 545). Popular society saw a world under control of demons, and to ensure their safety they worshiped a variety of Gods and Goddesses (Veyne 396). As the cult spread, new beliefs were added. These include the forgiveness of sin, the resurrection of Jesus, the belief in one God (Noss 636). The rapid growth of Christianity caused alarm in many people. Between 195 and 212, Christians were sporadically persecuted. After 212, persecution slowed, and they were allowed to exist (Frend 294). A major force in the popularization of Christianity was when Constantine converted. Constantine, a late Roman Emperor, discontinued the policy outlawing Christianity, and made it an acceptable religion in the Roman Empire (Frend 294). • 7. What Are The Legal Issues Related To The Ford Motor Company Memorandum TO: Jonathan Foster, Head of the Legal Analytics Department FROM: Sawyer Folks, Business Analyst DATE: April 27, 2015 SUBJECT: Ford Motor Company Background The Ford Motor Company has had a rather tarnished legal history. Ford got into some hot water in the 1990s and 2000s over multiple safety scandals. One of these scandals occurred in 1996 and involved faulty ignition switches that would short and cause fires. The ignition switch scandal then led to Ford being sued by State Farm for neglecting to release information about the faulty ignition switches and their tendency to start fires. Perhaps the most famous Ford safety scandal of all took place during the 1970s when Ford released the Pinto. As a consequence of a poor design, the fuel tank was located near the cars bumper and had virtually zero protection mechanisms in place. This design flaw led to many fatal explosions from the car being struck from behind. Ford ended up having to pay millions of dollars in civil cases as a result of injuries and deaths related to the design of the Pinto. Ford had to fork over $125 million dollars in damages in just one civil case, although this was a special case. There were other cases in which Ford executives were found innocent of any murder charges at all. There was a very diverse and wide spectrum of cases related to the Pinto incident. The Importance Of Grade Grubbing Grade grubbing is also referred to as grade lawyering or grade begging but is defined as the act of a student attempting to ask, persuade or argue with a professor to raise their grade with no legitimate reason other than their own personal benefit or pride ( Why You Should Not Engage in Grade Grubbing, n.d.). Grade grubbers, or students who partake in the action of grade grubbing, are found in education level and can range from low GPA to high GPA students (Warner, 2014). Since many people see their transcript as a reflection of their intelligence, the need for higher grades has become more important to students. I view grade grubbing to be an unacceptable practice as long as teachers and professors provide a proper, detailed and solid outline for a student s success. Grade grubbing is unfair to the entire class and to the instructor. One student should not get a grade boost for begging and not doing any extra work. It is unfair to the students to have someone who put in the same amount of work do better than them for no reason. As for the instructor, it is insulting to have a student not respect them enough to accept their final grade and question their methods and grade scale without reason. It is against policy and against moral to put an instructor in this uncomfortable position; matters can get worse if the student is aggressive and threatening (Magness, 2016). This film is about Tom, a lovesick romantic who is blinded side when Summer, the love of his life, dumps him. He falls in love with her. But she doesn t fall in love with him. He shifts back and forth through various periods of their 500 days together to try to figure out where things went wrong. For the most part, Webb was successful in translating the emotion of the script to the motion picture. Each page of the script was about this hopeless romantic named Tom and his recollection of where things went wrong with his girlfriend, Summer. Tom was retelling the story of how he met Summer in bits and pieces. These pieces were essentially flashbacks. But in a way, they were transitions that worked in really well into the film by the use of the amount of days he was with Summer. So instead of having flashbacks all over the film with poor transitional cues, the screenplay was written with the number of days that tied in with the event for that certain day. This helped keep the emotions of the film intact because of the transitional cue cards. Each day was shown on the screen with a picture of a tree that changes with the mood of scene and Tom. Which is supposed be comparable with the changes of the seasons which is now the feelings of Tom. Another thing that was omitted from the film that was in the screenplay was the use of animation for certain parts of the script. In the script, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Recursive Subspace Identification Algorithm using the Propagator Based Method Irma Wani Jamaludin1 and Norhaliza Abdul Wahab2 1Department of Mechatronics, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka, Hang Tuah Jaya, 76100 Durian Tunggal, Melaka, Malaysia 2Control Mechatronics Engineering, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, 81310 Skudai Johor Bahru, Malaysia Article Info ABSTRACT Subspace model identification (SMI) method is the effective method in identifying dynamic state space linear multivariable systems. Subspace identification, a sequence of state vectors can be obtained directly from the input and output data. From a numerical point of view, the SMI algorithms are not appropriate for online implementation because of the SVD computational complexity. For industrial applications, it is essential to have online recursive algorithms for model identification, where parameters can vary in time. Indeed, in many online identification scenarios, it is important to update the model as time goes on with a reduced computational cost. The main problem with recursive subspace identification is the SVD computation that is burdensome to update. Thus, it is necessary to find the alternative algorithms in order to apply the subspace concept in a recursive framework. In this paper, recursive subspace identification algorithm based on the propagator method which avoid the SVD computation is proposed. Keyword: Subspace identification Observability ... Read The Aeneid by Virgil (readings listed in your syllabus) taking careful note the actions of Turnus and discuss the following: The death of Turnus is sudden and shocking. What does the manner of his death indicate about Turnus and what does it show about Aeneas? Is Turnus a hero or a victim? The Aeneid by Virgil is a classic poem that describes the way the Trojans survived after the Greeks invaded and destroyed their hometown, Troy. The Poem explains the Trojans movements and how they found the city of Rome that was ruled by King Latinus at the time. The King at the time was happy to open his arms to the Trojans, as he believed in a prophecy that stated that it was meant to be that his daughter had to get married to a foreigner. It only made sense for the King to welcome the Trojans, as by doing so he would increase the chances of the prophecy being fulfilled. While this was the King s hopes plan s, his wife Amata wanted Lavania to marry the King of Rutilians, Turnus who ruled an ethnic group in Italy. Roosevelt to combat the Great Depression of the 1930 s. With the passing of the economic crisis in 2008, countless articles have been published supporting Keynes and his economic thought. He originally investigated the origins of the Great Depression and remodeled the field of economics with a basic conclusion: economies recover from downturns by spending money. Keynes theorized that during financial downfalls, the public becomes frightened and decreases spending, this leads to more layoffs, which in turn leads to an even greater decline in consumption, creating a vicious cycle. Many of Keynes theories in The General Theory of Employment, Interest, and Money (1936) are accurate, but are often overlooked in the legislative sector, due to political agendas triumphing over logic.
