John Winthrop A Model Of Christian Charity
The Writing of John Winthrop s, A Model of Christian Charity and Jonathan Edward s,
Personal narrative, appeared to have diverse purposes and for the intent of an audience who was
receptive and conformable. John Winthrop taught the Puritan people to be an exemplification for
other s observation, A City upon a Hill . p442 While Jonathon Edward s, Personal Narrative was a
self examination or observation of himself preceding a religiosity state and subsequently acceptance of
faith and grace. Both writers successfully achieve their objectives. Both writing can be applicable to
the
Christian lifestyle of today.
In John Winthrop s A Model of Christian Charity, Winthrop has become governor of

Wuthering Heights Analysis
Wuthering Heights
Wuthering Heights is a great literary work which keeps the audience exited while going through the
novel. Some novels are monotonous in the way they are written and lack ideas to keep the novel move
forward but this novel is an exception. Author keeps the audience guessing throughout this novel and
that is one of the fundamental reasons for acceptance of this book even by the audience of this
generation. Wuthering Heights basically revolves around its two main characters Catherine Earnshaw
and Heathcliff .The novel portrays the emotional and destructive love between its two central
characters mentioned above. Catherine and Heathcliff s love heads to a totally different direction as
we move forward the novel. Even though beginning of the novel shows the love to be true and
unconditional it changes rapidly to infatuation from Catherine the female lead character in the novel.
This change of attitude actually makes the novel exiting and it ultimately leads the way to one of the
main themes of the novel revenge. I would be focusing on the significance of the theme revenge in
this work by Emily Bronte.
Catherine and Heathcliff s passion for one another seems to be the center of Wuthering Heights in the
first half of the novel and revenge takes the center stage in the latter half of the novel.
Revenge mentality of Heathcliff is stronger and more lasting than any other feeling of love, hate, guilt
etc. displayed in the novel. Introduction of Heathcliff is the source of most of the major conflicts that
structure the novel s plot. As she tells Catherine and Heathcliff s story, Nelly presents both of
them(unpleasantly loudly or cruelly, strongly criticizing their passion as socially wrong , but this
passion is obviously one of the most interesting/most forceful and unforgettable parts of the book. It is
not easy to decide whether Bronte intends the reader strongly criticize these lovers as worthy of being
blamed or to (think of something perfect in your mind) them as romantic heroes whose love goes
beyond behavior that most people would say ok and ordinary sense of right and wrong. In contrast to
the first part of the novel, the last thing just mentioned the developing love between young

The Impact Of Sacajawea On The State Of Idaho
Sacajawea was born about 1790 in what is now the state of Idaho. She was one of the Snake People,
otherwise known as the Shoshone. Her name in Hidatsa was Tsi ki ka wi as, Bird Woman. In
Shoshone, her name means Boat Pusher. She was stolen during a raid by a Hidatsa Contrary to popular
opinion, Sacajawea did not serve as a guide for the party. She only influenced the direction taken by
the expedition one time, after reaching the area where her people hunted she indicated they should
take a tributary of the Beaverhead River to get to the mountains where her people lived and where
Lewis and Clark hoped to buy horses.

River, west to the mountains. On May 14, 1805 an incident occurred which was typical of the
calmness and self possession Sacajawea was to display throughout the journey. The incident was
recorded in the diaries because of it s significance to the success of the expedition. On that day, the
boat Sacajawea was in was hit by a sudden storm squall. It keeled over on it s side and nearly
capsized. As the other members of the crew worked desperately to right the boat, Sacajawea, with her
baby strapped to her back, busied herself with retrieving the valuable books and instruments that
floated out of the boat. They had been wrapped in waterproof packages for protection and, thanks to
Sacajawea s courage and quick actions, suffered no damage. On August 15, 1805 Sacajawea was re
united with her tribe, only to learn that all her family had died, with the exception of two brothers and
the son of her oldest sister, whom she adopted. One of her brothers, Cameahwait, was head chief of
the Shoshone. The Shoshone chief agreed to sell the party the horses they needed for the trek through
the mountains. He also sketched a map of the country to the west and provided a guide, Old Toby,

102 Year Old Time Capsule Research Paper
On July 1st, 2017 workers in St.Louis were taking down a monument and while doing that they
discovered a 102 year old time capsule. I think it would be hard to figure out what to put in a time
capsule in the year 1915, but it did give a looking glass to the year 2017 about what was used before
all the technology and new gadgets. For me, fashion, FADS, and technology would best describe what
life was like in the 2000 s. To best describe what our generation was like fashion, technology, and
FADS should be placed in a time capsule. For example, one of the fashion trends in 2016 mostly
names brands. Like a brand named Supreme . Once famous YouTubers started to wear this clothing
brand, most teenagers have been wanting to get a headband or a shirt. Next, is of course Vineyard
Vines , this brand was worn by many because of their signature smiley whale with different prints and
designs.Lastly, is the name brand Lokai mostly girls were obsessed with the fact that the bracelet

challenge is a favorite, it wasn t easy to stay still with all the laughter, but it was fun to try and share

and even pets were getting in on the fun of staying still in a funny casual position while someone films

From the activity what was intended to occur was the children being able to identify physical
attributes and from there be able to form sets. Some of the behaviors that I will observe that will

College Observation
There are many factors that I can improve on in the future for the next observations. First of all the
organization of the data along with the time measurement are improvements that can be made. Instead
of measuring five minutes I would measure every 15 minutes, making it four rounds in one hour.
Within that hour we can also use a timer so that we don t lose track of time. Also the time that we had
to measure was on a Monday and Wednesday, for the next observation I would add in a Tuesday or
Thursday. Since the observation was done on a campus we didn t get different age ranges besides the
college age. By measuring data at a Chic Fil A in the public we would get a wider range of ages,
genders, and race. The diversity level was also low so in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I have learned the hard way that it is better to just bring your own lunch then wait for the lines at Chic
Fil A or other restaurants to go down. By the time that we get our food we only have a couple of
minutes before our next class. There is so much activity to measure in that hour and in that place. The
theme from this observation was gender, age and race majority that ordered at Chic Fil A. The
majority of the students who ordered here make up the 72% population who are white at CMU,
therefore it was not a surprise that they were the majority of the clients (College Factual, 2013). But
there are about 8% more females on campus, but males ordered more than females (College Factual,
2013). To find out why they chose to eat at Chic Fil A would be a different research project. I am
researching the gender, age, and race of the people at the university center that order Chic Fil A. I
decided to research this because I have noticed the crazy long line during lunch ever since they opened
the restaurant in the beginning of the year. I thought it would be interesting to learn which students at
the school are the top buyers. Eating patterns are something that I was able to see during this
observation. With all the new fast food, corporate restaurants that are coming to campus it s easy for
students to get fed at a faster

Whistleblowing Legislation And Its Role Of Corporate...
Whistleblowing Legislation and Its Role In Corporate Governance
Whistleblowing occurs when an employee, contractor or supplier goes outside the normal
management channels to report suspected wrongdoing at work. A study indicates that no specific actor
dominates the revelation of fraud: short sellers and equity holders revealed the fraud in 9% of the
cases; financial analysts and auditors revealed 14% each; the Securities Exchange Commission ( SEC
) accounted for 6%; the media accounted for 14%; non financial market regulators 16%; and
employees (whistleblowers) accounted for 19%. The United States enacted sweeping legislation to
protect whistleblowers after a series of corporate scandals, but more is needed. Since whistleblowing
plays an important role in the corporate regulatory scheme, this paper will explore policies needed for
a more effective corporate governance.
Events Leading to the Enactment of Legislation The events that led to legislative action from
Congress were the Enron and WorldCom scandals. Enron Corporation was an American energy
company based in Houston, Texas which originally was solely a natural gas provider which then
evolved into one of the world s major energy commodity traders. On August 2001, Sherron Watkins,
the Vice President of Enron at the time, alerted the then CEO Ken Lay of accounting irregularities. By
the end of November 2001, Enron shareholders filed a $40 billion lawsuit after the company s stock
price, which achieved a high of

The Safety Of Military Equipment
Aircraft Loadmaster Many people wonder how military vehicles, cargo, people, and other military
equipment ever made it from one place to another without being seen and how this action is pulled off
so smoothly. If people only knew more about the military, they would be wonderless. The transporting
of military equipment is so unique and detailing that if you re not precise even the smallest mistake
can ruin the entire operation. The loading of the planes are varied depending on the cargo, but wait a
second who loads the planes? This is the job of an Aircraft Loadmaster. They perform multiple
procedures which ensure that the planes are loaded properly so that the passengers make it to their
destination safely, develop a positive outcome from loading an aircraft by taking the procedures
extremely cautiously, and making history. Procedures such as recording the weight of cargo,
determines the amount of cargo and passengers or troops to be loaded and proper placement in aircraft
and computes load and cargo distribution are few of the many essentials of being Air Loadmaster.

Classical Hollywood Narrative
Classical Hollywood narrative has been around since 1917, it has been the most common way people
see cinema today. The reason this movie styles has remained as the most common is because it
achieves the job by making the viewers sink deep into the film. Classical hollywood narrative consists
of a clear plot, including beginning, middle, and end. In the beginning the film shows the watcher the
surrounding including the lifestyle and everything else going on during the films time period. This
helps the viewer to become aware and in essence enter 6he film and make the film more realistic than
it is. Once the environment has been set up by the film, the film moves on to the second stage which is
the problem. The second stage is where the main character ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In classical hollywood narratives the camera positions frontal shots in order for the audiences to feel
connected and sucked into the film. However, Tarantino has done the opposite by showing multiple
scenes with no frontal shots. The first time the film presents this kind of shot is when Vincent is
having a full on conversation with Jules (0:13:47), this is absolutely something that will never happen
in a classical hollywood narrative. The purpose of a classical hollywood narrative is to connect the
audiences to each of the characters, and to each scene, however tarantino neglects to achieve this. This
film constantly makes its audience become aware that the film is only a film, it does not achieve to
make its viewers connect and get dragged into to film. Another time the film does this kind of
behavior is when the film first introduces Marcellus, once again the film describes its audience from
being fully engage (0:21:15). Marcellus Wallace is one of the most important and main characters
however the audience is deprived of full knowledge of this character. The film constantly has these
kind of rear shots, definitely not a characteristic of classical hollywood narratives. These kind of shots
however do create a suspense for each of the characters, it builds up curiosity in the audiences to see
what they look like. For example the scene where Vincent finally meets Mia (0:32:20), it takes 2
minutes for the film to finally reveal the face of the mysterious main character. Despite the fact that
Tarantino defied many traits from classical Hollywood narrative, he was still able to connect the
audience with the film. In the same scene where Vincent first encounters Mia, the film introduces Mia
in a mysterious way, the audience meets mia at the same moment as Vincent. There are many other
characteristics that Tarantino uses in Pulp Fiction that connect the

Changes and Continuities in Roman Times(100 C.E 600 C.E) The Roman Empire experienced some
dramatic cultural changes from 100 C.E to 600 C.E, such as the rise of barbarians and the radical
change in social structure, and dramatic political changes, such as the change in the emperor s power,
that altered the empire, however there were still a few continuities, such as Latin still being the
language of the majority. On Rome s slow track to death many more things changed than stayed the
same. One cultural change was the rise of the barbarians in the Roman Empire, which brought about
much new diverse culture in Rome. By 600 C.E. Britain was ruled by the Anglo Saxons, Italy by the

Nurturing Yields a Productive Citizen Essay
Does nurturing in an early childhood stage help to create a productive citizen? Yes, nurturing children,
building a loving and caring relationship in an early childhood stage allows young children to obtain a
positive self concept, reach social emotional development, understand others, achieve physical
growth0 and learn intellectually and morally (Love Our Children USA). First, a positive self concept
(the image one has of oneself and ones strengths) sets the basis as to how a child will conduct his or
herself in the future. Children with good self concepts are more likely to grow into happy and
productive members of society (Arkin et al.). Parents should encourage positive self concepts in
children. To help a child reach this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Children may think that they are incompetent or at fault if the teacher gives off a negative attitude. So,
for instance, a bad day should not be shown through the teacher s attitude. The attitude shown on a
bad day should mask the day they are having. This is to insure a nurturing environment for a young
child. Second, along with guidance, children need nurture to help social and emotional skills develop.
Many psychologists point out that there is a very strong relationship between parenting styles and the
social development of children (Kasschau 80). Children from nurturing homes will, in fact, be
stronger socially than children from homes without nurturing caregivers. One of the first and most
important steps in promoting social development is teaching children prosocial behaviors. Prosocial
behaviors are acts of kindness that benefit others such as sharing, helping others, and showing
concern. Many people argue that prosocial behaviors should be learned naturally; however teaching a
child prosocial behaviors is the most accurate way to ensure the quality of kindness in young children.
Emotional development is another important factor in a growing child. Humans use different emotions
to express their feelings to others everyday. In studying young children, one will see that no two
children are exactly alike. Although they may look alike, identical twins differ in personality. This is
why psychologists have emphasized the importance of the

Differences Between Dauntless Book And Book
It is always quite exciting when a novel is adapted to be shown as a movie. I m usually in the habit of
comparing and analyzing if the movie version was faithful to the book. Many times the movie director
and screenwriters have to decide whether to include certain scenes or not. This aspect is controlled by
the rating they want the movie to end up with, depending on their target audience. I found a number of
differences between Roth s novel and the movie. In my opinion the general imagery of the movie
matched the one of the book. For example, I imagined the choosing ceremony to look like just like it
did in the movie. Also, Tris house, school, neighborhood, the Erudite headquarters and the dauntless
train matched the vision in my head. One thing that didn t match in my opinion was the Dauntless
headquarters. I imagined the chasm to be more dramatic and the fighting ring and dormitories were
portrayed differently than I had imagined. Some of the events in the movie were also different than in
the novel. In the novel Peter stabs Edward in the eye with a butter knife, but in the movie this scene
does not appear at all. In the novel, one of the new dauntless initiates falls to her death on the first day
train jump, in the movie this does not happen. Visiting day at Dauntless headquarters is a scene ...

young people usually attend, like universities, young and fashion neighborhoods and in streets where
youth used to frequent. Another important factor to succeed with our Start from Zero strategy is the
promotion. Considering our target will be young people, is necessary to promote in the most popular
TV shows that young people used to watch. Also we can advertise in fashion magazines and billboards
in fashionable areas. Our recommendation to address this new strategy is: * Decrease our structure
costs. We need to renegotiate with our suppliers. They need to understand that if we do not reduce our
costs we are not going to increase our sales. This is important for them to maintain our commercial
relationship. * Hire new creative and capable people to design the new cars. They need to work in

Advantages Of A Model Contract
Model Contract
A model contract can be described as an agreement between the parties which are data exporter and
the data importer, which covers lot of important aspects for not only to communicators but also to data
transport. This means that the relevant company in the United States must have a contract or some
kind of an agreement for each and every country to which it sends and receives data. Usually model
contracts tend to be better suited for small and medium sized enterprises that do not have very large
employee base or partners in many countries. But if it is a larger company that may have employees or
partners in different countries, standard contracts are not going to be that much helpful in practical a

So in order to mitigate this kind of an incidence they should keep separate rules and regulations,

Waste Management Scandal Essay
Waste Management Scandal Dean Buntrock established Waste Management, Inc. in 1968. Its main
purpose is to pick recycling and garbage up from residential housing and businesses. WM also
disposes of the garbage in landfills. It has grown to be the largest garbage disposal company in the
U.S. today. This company has managed to survive one of the most egregious accounting frauds we
have seen said Thomas C. Newkirk of the SEC.
This accounting scandal lasted from 1992 to 1997 and was the result of numerous improper expense
adjustments to inflate Waste Management s earnings. They also incorrectly recorded liabilities,
depreciation, salvage value of assets and the useful life of those assets to meet projected earnings.
Buntrock was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This $490 million came from the netting manipulation when they offset their expenses with unrelated
gains on the sale of assets. The geography manipulation allowed them to move millions of dollars to
different sections of the income statement to make the financials look the way we want to show them
said James Koenig, one of the primary forces behind the scandal. However, none of the fraudulent
activities would have gone unknown for so long without the aid of the auditors, Arthur Anderson LLP,
involved with Waste Management.
Buntrock did not act alone in this scandal. Many of his upper level associates had a hand in this fraud.
Other key players included: Phillip Rooney (President, COO and CEO for a period of the scandal),
James E. Koenig (CFO and Executive VP), Thomas C. Hau (VP and Chief Accounting Officer), Bruce
D. Tobecksen (VP of Finance), and Herbert Getz (Senior VP, General Counsel and Secretary). Each
member of this scandal greatly profited in some way. Buntrock made over $16.9 million during the
scandal. Rooney earned $9.2 million, Koenig over $900,000, Hau reaped over $600,000, Tobecksen
over $400,000 and Getz gained $450,000.
Although the top level managers benefited in this situation, the shareholders suffered greatly. They
lost a total of around $6 billion dollars in the market value of Waste Management s stock. By the end
of the scandal Waste

Email Privacy Essay
Ethical Management of E mail Privacy
As I am sitting at my work station in a crowded office building, I hear the wonderful sound of You ve
got mail. In turn I open my E mail mailbox and find a letter from a nearby employee. This letter
contains the usual funny joke of the day and a short joke ridiculing the boss, as usual. Who was to
know that my supervisor would eventually find this letter, which would lead to both the termination of
my job and my fellow employee? Do you feel this is right?
Does this sound common? This may sound common because the issue of E mail and privacy is very
common and controversial in our advanced technological world. The determination of what is ethical
or unethical is not simple or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Employees may not realize how easily their bosses and coworkers can access their E mail. Many high
tech firms are even able to retrieve messages that the employees think they have permanently deleted.
An article in the magazine, Business First, makes a good point, Don t put anything in E mail that you
would not want read over the loud speaker throughout the company (Miller 2).
Although many computers and company E mail accounts have passwords, it does not mean that they
are protected. System administrators can access almost anyone s E mail. According to a web page on
the Internet, The only way to protect your E mail would be to regard your E mail as you would a
postcard. People must realize that unlike other forms of communication, E mail has little protection,
such as telephone companies do (Learn the Net
1). This provides the employer with the ability to monitor someone s E mail without them even
knowing.
The topic of E mail is so current that it even hit the meeting of the Long Island Direct Marketing
Association (LIDMA) on October 22, 1998. At the meeting privacy issues concerning E mail in the
workplace were discussed. A local attorney, Martin
Gringer, Esg., explained the need for employees to understand that their e mail may not be private and
they should look into company policy before sending something which may later come back to haunt

Democratic Party Vs. Democratic Parties
Since the beginning the United States the its form of government has been considered unique. While it
is different from many other forms of government it gives each U.S. citizen the ability to speak their
mind on who they believe their country should be governed by and what laws they should be governed
under. In making these decisions citizens generally take a side, Republican or Democrat. Republican
and Democratic parties are two of the nations oldest political parties however, when they originated
the Republican party was the Democratic party that we have today and the Democratic party was the
Conservative party we have today. To put that in simpler terms, the Democratic party were the
Confederates in the civil war while the Republican party was the Union. Democrats of that time
favored a limited government, supported the idea of manifest destiny, and fought for the continuation
of slavery whereas the Republican party of that time opposed slavery, favored government policies
such as nation currency, high tariffs, or increased funding on the university system. The switch to the
parties we know today is said to have happened gradually between 1872. While the party system today
is flipped from the original Democratic and Republican parties it still flows from historic roots but the
reasoning s and demographics behind who identifies as Liberal and who identifies as Conservative has
advanced.
The basis of the government was set by three men, John Locke, Thomas Hobbs, and

Football practice ended early the day before halloween, it was a typical sunny day in Arroyo Grande.
The team decided to the local ice cream parlor Doc Burnstein s. Not usually invited to any social
events, I took the opportunity to hangout with some friends. The team crowded the small shop, taking
over a long table. A table full of rowdy white boys, and the minority usually excluded from social

bearable. Halloween on all our minds, the conversation shifted over to costume ideas. Various
suggestions rolled in. As we brainstormed, the team clown decided to speak up. He exclaimed, AY

Gabriel Conroy As A Repetitive Life In The Dead By James...
Being stuck in a repetitive life causes people to be disillusioned to true meanings of life and feelings
of others, while also becoming emotionally distant themselves. Having a traditional lifestyle
consisting of the same routines separates those who are living a life of passion with those who are
unable to see their uninteresting existence. In the novella The Dead by James Joyce, he uses
symbolism and contrast to portray Gabriel Conroy as a dynamic character who turns his ignorant, self
satisfied and repetitive life into a journey of self discovery. who leads an unfulfilled, apathetic, and
ignorant life through the use of symbolism and contrast Throughout the short story, Joyce uses the
literary device symbolism to show how Gabriel Conroy comes to the realization of his unsatisfying
life and that he thinks more about his unimportant actions, desires, and tedious routines than being
passionate and having an impactful life. One example of a symbol the author uses is snow, which has
multiple representations for Gabriel. Towards the beginning of the book it indicates death, paralysis,
and hidden truth, while at the end it symbolizes him seeking a new beginning filled with purity. For
instance, the quote A light fringe of snow lay like a cape on the shoulders of his overcoat and like
toecaps on the toes of his goloshes... (139) illustrates the connection Gabriel has with death as it is
metaphorically visible on him, and shows that it not only is impending on him, but

Tampa Bay Stadium Case Study
William Edwards, owner of the NASL Tampa Bay Rowdies is proposing a privately financed soccer
stadium in Saint Petersburg, Florida. The Saint Petersburg entrepreneur seeks to construct an
attractive, contemporary style stadium, for a possible MLS franchise. The site, where the historic
Major League Baseball Al Lang Stadium sits, overlooks Tampa Bay, in Saint Petersburg. Edwards, at
a team rally/news conference, indicated that he is in preliminary talks with the MLS to bring a
franchise to the Florida Gulf Coast, in an 18,000 stadium. The Al Lang site would be renovated with
the addition of 12,000 seats. The site is adjacent to the fine arts venue, the Mahaffey Theatre, which

Unlike Edwards private financing proposal, the Rays baseball club demanded public funding and
expansion into the surrounding streets and into Tampa Bay. Many see Edwards stadium proposal an
ideal fit for the downtown Saint Petersburg. It taps into the downtown aura without an intrusion and
further elevates Saint Petersburg, Florida as a major league sports town. The proposed soccer venue
would compliment the picturesque waterfront of the burgeoning Tampa Bay metropolis. While
William Bill Edwards plans for the waterfront stadium is ambitious, it requires voter approval.
Edwards, working with community leaders indicated he will not pursue a referendum on the project
until he receives final approval for an MLS expansion team. Sports finance analysts estimate Edwards
shelling out $150 million to the MLS for an expansion team. The figure could balloon even high as the
MLS Orlando City franchise currently holds territorial rights to the Saint Petersburg location. If
everything falls into place, Williams envisions the Saint Petersburg MLS franchise beginning play in
2019. MLS sees the Tampa Bay region as a viable market giving the rave reviews the region gets for
lifestyle, culture, and weather. A voter referendum would occur in August 2017 at the

A Research Study On Service Encounters
Service Encounters The interactions between various people can help explain social and cultural
differences, which overall allow us to gather information on the wide expanse of ideologies that
people from different economic and ethnic backgrounds hold and believe. Throughout this research
project I was able to build off of what I had learned from Benjamin Bailey s study and conduct
something similar to experience firsthand what beneficial information can be obtained from observing
various service encounters. Understanding that not every person feels the same way about how certain
social interactions should be carried out is important. This enables us to realize that some interactions
may come off as disrespectful, ill mannered, or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They were both white males of average height and build. Quickly after listening to the beginning of
their conversation, it was clear they knew one another.
Example 1:
1. Attendant: How s it going?
2. Customer: It s going good bro, what about you?
3. Attendant: Going good, how s ASU?
4. Customer: Pretty good, I m getting through it. *Light chuckle*
5. Attendant: Well I m glad to hear it, hope you have a good night.
6. Customer: You too man.
It was apparent that they had exchanged conversations maybe several times in the past and were on
more personal terms, where they knew things about one another. That was the first interaction I
witnessed that day, between the attendant and a customer that included a conversation that seemed
more informal and casual. My second example took place in the Mexican restaurant, Los Taquitos,
and the interaction I observed was between a young women and an older male. The attendant looked
around 16 18 and was a Mexican American woman. The customer seemed to be in his late 60 s and
was a Native American man who was in a wheelchair. They had a polite conversation and seemed to
be previously acquainted.
Example 2:
1. Attendant: Hey Liam, how are you today?
2. Customer: Hi Alexa, I m doing fine.
3. Attendant: Lengua burrito?
4. Customer: Of course, and can you add four sides of pico?

Is Automobile Racing a Sport?
There are many arguments for and against auto racing actually being a sport. To understand this
argument one needs to know what type of racing people are saying is a sport. Auto racing has been
around as long as there have been automobiles. Every teenager, whether they admit it or not has raced.
This type of racing however is not a sport if you ask me; this type of racing is known as street racing.
On this type of racing people get together and race their suit up cars and see who is faster. There is no
stress on the body, and not any practice needed to participate in this. This is one of the main reasons
that most people believe that auto racing is not a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Effect Of Wankel Engines And Four Stroke Engines
Have you ever wondered how engines work? That is exactly what this paper is about, engines. I will
explain how Wankel engines, Diesel engines, turbojet engines, Gnome rotary engines, two stroke
engines, and four stroke engines work. I will also explain their histories. Some times when you look at
an engine it looks like a mess and you wonder how it could make anything move. The two stroke
engine was very popular in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Two stroke engines were used in
cars, tractors, and ships. One reason for their popularity was their simple design. The two stroke
engine has a lower cost to rebuild and maintain than most other engines, which is why the two stroke
engine was very popular. The reason why most two stroke ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While this is happening a crankcase compression is happening beneath the piston. The two stroke
engine fires on every circle of the piston. Because of this they are more powerful than the four stroke
engine of equivalent size. Two stroke engines also have lighter and simpler construction. These two
reasons are, why they are used in motorcycles chain saws, line trimmers and outboard motors. Sadly
two stroke engines cause a lot of pollution because some of exhaust gasses are expelled from the
exhaust part of the cycle. The four stroke engines are used in lawn mowers, garden tractors, tillers, and
washers. There is more than one type of four stroke engines. They are the horizontal camshaft, side
valve engine and the vertical camshaft, side valve engine. Both of these types use four cycles four
cycles in one full cycle. four stroke engine The four stroke engine is the now the most popular engine
for cars. The first thing that happens is that the intake piston moves down drawing in a fresh charge
fuel and air mixture into the cylinder. As the piston rises the intake valve is forced shut by increased
cylinder pressure. As the piston rises, the intake valve is forced shut by the increased cylinder
pressure. Flywheel momentum drives the piston upward, compressing the fuel and air mixture. At the
top of the compression stroke, the spark plug fires, igniting the compressed fuel. As the fuel burns it
expands driving the piston down. When the piston reaches the

Cerebellum Vs Cerebrum Research Paper
The cerebrum is the largest portion of the human brain. It takes up about 4/5 of the weight of the brain
and has what is described as a wrinkled cortex. Wrinkled cortex increases the surface area of which
increases the number of neurons. This makes human brain to be more efficient than other vertebrates (
Cerebrum vs Cerebellum, n.d.). The cerebrum in divided by the cerebral fissure, which separates it
into two hemispheres, the left and right which is being further discussed by a fellow classmate. The
two hemispheres are connected by the corpus callosum. Both hemispheres can also be divided into
four lobes which we know as the frontal, parietal, temporal, and occiptal lobes. The frontal lobe helps

Cause And Effects Of The Korean War
Recently there has been a few state actors who are now threating the United States much more then
they have in the past. The foremost and greatest threat to the U.S. is North Korea as it stands right
now. This was confirmed by Defense Secretary James Mattis stating, North Korea s advancing missile
and nuclear programs were the most urgent threat to national security and that its means to deliver
them had increased in speed and scope (Ali, 2017). Over the past six months, the Korean War part II
has been slowly starting to take shape and threat of war could be looming in the future. The Korean
War, which started 67 years ago, which has technically never ended, led to the deaths of about 600,000
North Korean and 1 million South Koreans, along with hundreds of thousands of U.S. troops
(Berlinger, 2017). The legacy of the brutal war lives on in North Korea, where key pieces of
propaganda are still used by the regime today. The world is closely watching the tug of war between
the world s super power and the lonely North Koreans, having both President Trump and North
Korean leader Kim Jong Un aware of the immense cost of the another Korean War (Berlinger, 2017).
Defense Secretary James Mattis stated: both the U.S. and North Korea have proved over time they can
demonstrate restraint, de escalate a crisis and step back from the brink of war. Both have interest in
avoiding a war, which would be in nobody s best interest. If this goes to a military solution, it is going

Descriptive Essay On A Tridaday Morning
Wednesday Morning
It is a typical Wednesday morning, the middle of the week, and I m running late to school. It s 7:43
and most students are making a mad dash to beat the morning bell, others linger around the green
courtyard, catching up with friends, dreading going to class. I make my way through the maze of
students, and I catch my best friend, Lauren, in the stairwell at the top of A building, both on our way
to the history class we have together. We do not say a word, just share a look that says we want to go
home and we need more coffee, before we head into class.
Our class is always in chaos in the mornings. The boys compare what they have for breakfast today
and discuss last night s baseball game play by play, while the girls get together and share a bit of
gossip they heard last night and begin to make plans for the weekend. Today was no exception. Just as
the tardy bell rings, I sit in my seat at the corner of the room and notice that Kaylin, who sits behind
me, is crying. Her face is red and blotchy and she is staring at her phone. I choose to act like I do not
notice, because it must have been a rough morning and I would not want anyone bothering me if I
were in her position. Then Abbie, who sits in the desk beside Kaylin, comes in a few minutes late, also
crying. Lauren and I exchange confused glances, and I suddenly realize our teacher, Mrs. Hendrix, isn
t in the room. How strange, I think to myself, she is almost always here to greet us when we walk in

Frida Kahlo Editing Techniques
The documentary Portrait of an Artist by Frida Kahlo is easily seen as an old film due to the simple
editing techniques. Despite this, the film still accurately portrays the artist s life in the famous Blue
House outside of Mexico City. She shared this home with her husband Diego Rivera, who was a
famous muralist and painter. Frida Kahlo s full name was Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo y Calderón
de Rivera. She was born in Coyoacán, Mexico on July 6, 1907. She ended up changed her birth year to
1910 in order to associate herself more with being a product of the Mexican Revolution. Her father
was a Hungarian Jew who immigrated from Germany to Mexico. He married a Mexican woman of
both Native and Spanish descent. As a child Frida would go with her father on his photography

commissions. They had a confusing kind of open relationship which could have been the cause of
their divorce in 1939. Yet surprisingly they remarried the following year. Kahlo s life was riddled with
tragedy. When she was 7, Frida was diagnosed with polio which left her with a smaller and thinner
leg. At 18 years old Kahlo was in a bus accident. Her lower body was impaled on a metal rod causing
her pelvis to break and her spine in three places. She spent most of her life hospitalized and in bed.
During her life she had three miscarriages because of her injuries. Later in her life she was still

  • 2. John Winthrop A Model Of Christian Charity The Writing of John Winthrop s, A Model of Christian Charity and Jonathan Edward s, Personal narrative, appeared to have diverse purposes and for the intent of an audience who was receptive and conformable. John Winthrop taught the Puritan people to be an exemplification for other s observation, A City upon a Hill . p442 While Jonathon Edward s, Personal Narrative was a self examination or observation of himself preceding a religiosity state and subsequently acceptance of faith and grace. Both writers successfully achieve their objectives. Both writing can be applicable to the Christian lifestyle of today. • 3. Wuthering Heights Analysis Wuthering Heights Wuthering Heights is a great literary work which keeps the audience exited while going through the novel. Some novels are monotonous in the way they are written and lack ideas to keep the novel move forward but this novel is an exception. Author keeps the audience guessing throughout this novel and that is one of the fundamental reasons for acceptance of this book even by the audience of this generation. Wuthering Heights basically revolves around its two main characters Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff .The novel portrays the emotional and destructive love between its two central characters mentioned above. Catherine and Heathcliff s love heads to a totally different direction as we move forward the novel. Even though beginning of the novel shows the love to be true and unconditional it changes rapidly to infatuation from Catherine the female lead character in the novel. This change of attitude actually makes the novel exiting and it ultimately leads the way to one of the main themes of the novel revenge. I would be focusing on the significance of the theme revenge in this work by Emily Bronte. Catherine and Heathcliff s passion for one another seems to be the center of Wuthering Heights in the first half of the novel and revenge takes the center stage in the latter half of the novel. Revenge mentality of Heathcliff is stronger and more lasting than any other feeling of love, hate, guilt etc. displayed in the novel. Introduction of Heathcliff is the source of most of the major conflicts that structure the novel s plot. As she tells Catherine and Heathcliff s story, Nelly presents both of them(unpleasantly loudly or cruelly, strongly criticizing their passion as socially wrong , but this passion is obviously one of the most interesting/most forceful and unforgettable parts of the book. It is not easy to decide whether Bronte intends the reader strongly criticize these lovers as worthy of being blamed or to (think of something perfect in your mind) them as romantic heroes whose love goes beyond behavior that most people would say ok and ordinary sense of right and wrong. In contrast to the first part of the novel, the last thing just mentioned the developing love between young ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Her name in Hidatsa was Tsi ki ka wi as, Bird Woman. In Shoshone, her name means Boat Pusher. She was stolen during a raid by a Hidatsa Contrary to popular opinion, Sacajawea did not serve as a guide for the party. She only influenced the direction taken by the expedition one time, after reaching the area where her people hunted she indicated they should take a tributary of the Beaverhead River to get to the mountains where her people lived and where Lewis and Clark hoped to buy horses. He was also given the Shoshone name, Pomp, meaning First Born. The expedition resumed the westward trek on April 7, 1805. Their route was along the Missouri River, west to the mountains. On May 14, 1805 an incident occurred which was typical of the calmness and self possession Sacajawea was to display throughout the journey. The incident was recorded in the diaries because of it s significance to the success of the expedition. On that day, the boat Sacajawea was in was hit by a sudden storm squall. It keeled over on it s side and nearly capsized. As the other members of the crew worked desperately to right the boat, Sacajawea, with her baby strapped to her back, busied herself with retrieving the valuable books and instruments that floated out of the boat. They had been wrapped in waterproof packages for protection and, thanks to Sacajawea s courage and quick actions, suffered no damage. On August 15, 1805 Sacajawea was re united with her tribe, only to learn that all her family had died, with the exception of two brothers and the son of her oldest sister, whom she adopted. One of her brothers, Cameahwait, was head chief of the Shoshone. The Shoshone chief agreed to sell the party the horses they needed for the trek through the mountains. • 5. 102 Year Old Time Capsule Research Paper On July 1st, 2017 workers in St.Louis were taking down a monument and while doing that they discovered a 102 year old time capsule. I think it would be hard to figure out what to put in a time capsule in the year 1915, but it did give a looking glass to the year 2017 about what was used before all the technology and new gadgets. For me, fashion, FADS, and technology would best describe what life was like in the 2000 s. To best describe what our generation was like fashion, technology, and FADS should be placed in a time capsule. For example, one of the fashion trends in 2016 mostly names brands. Like a brand named Supreme . Once famous YouTubers started to wear this clothing brand, most teenagers have been wanting to get a headband or a shirt. Next, is of course Vineyard Vines , this brand was worn by many because of their signature smiley whale with different prints and designs.Lastly, is the name brand Lokai mostly girls were obsessed with the fact that the bracelet contained mud from the dead sea and ... And of course the mannequin challenge is a favorite, it wasn t easy to stay still with all the laughter, but it was fun to try and share with friends on social media. This challenge soon went viral and everybody like celebrities, athletes, and even pets were getting in on the fun of staying still in a funny casual position while someone films you. • 7. College Observation There are many factors that I can improve on in the future for the next observations. First of all the organization of the data along with the time measurement are improvements that can be made. Instead of measuring five minutes I would measure every 15 minutes, making it four rounds in one hour. Within that hour we can also use a timer so that we don t lose track of time. Also the time that we had to measure was on a Monday and Wednesday, for the next observation I would add in a Tuesday or Thursday. I have learned the hard way that it is better to just bring your own lunch then wait for the lines at Chic Fil A or other restaurants to go down. By the time that we get our food we only have a couple of minutes before our next class. There is so much activity to measure in that hour and in that place. The theme from this observation was gender, age and race majority that ordered at Chic Fil A. The majority of the students who ordered here make up the 72% population who are white at CMU, therefore it was not a surprise that they were the majority of the clients (College Factual, 2013). But there are about 8% more females on campus, but males ordered more than females (College Factual, 2013). To find out why they chose to eat at Chic Fil A would be a different research project. I am researching the gender, age, and race of the people at the university center that order Chic Fil A. I decided to research this because I have noticed the crazy long line during lunch ever since they opened the restaurant in the beginning of the year. I thought it would be interesting to learn which students at the school are the top buyers. Eating patterns are something that I was able to see during this observation. • 8. Whistleblowing Legislation And Its Role Of Corporate... Whistleblowing Legislation and Its Role In Corporate Governance Whistleblowing occurs when an employee, contractor or supplier goes outside the normal management channels to report suspected wrongdoing at work. A study indicates that no specific actor dominates the revelation of fraud: short sellers and equity holders revealed the fraud in 9% of the cases; financial analysts and auditors revealed 14% each; the Securities Exchange Commission ( SEC ) accounted for 6%; the media accounted for 14%; non financial market regulators 16%; and employees (whistleblowers) accounted for 19%. The United States enacted sweeping legislation to protect whistleblowers after a series of corporate scandals, but more is needed. Since whistleblowing plays an important role in the corporate regulatory scheme, this paper will explore policies needed for a more effective corporate governance. Events Leading to the Enactment of Legislation The events that led to legislative action from Congress were the Enron and WorldCom scandals. Enron Corporation was an American energy company based in Houston, Texas which originally was solely a natural gas provider which then evolved into one of the world s major energy commodity traders. On August 2001, Sherron Watkins, the Vice President of Enron at the time, alerted the then CEO Ken Lay of accounting irregularities. By the end of November 2001, Enron shareholders filed a $40 billion lawsuit after the company s stock price, which achieved a high of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The transporting of military equipment is so unique and detailing that if you re not precise even the smallest mistake can ruin the entire operation. The loading of the planes are varied depending on the cargo, but wait a second who loads the planes? This is the job of an Aircraft Loadmaster. • 10. Classical Hollywood Narrative Classical Hollywood narrative has been around since 1917, it has been the most common way people see cinema today. The reason this movie styles has remained as the most common is because it achieves the job by making the viewers sink deep into the film. Classical hollywood narrative consists of a clear plot, including beginning, middle, and end. In the beginning the film shows the watcher the surrounding including the lifestyle and everything else going on during the films time period. This helps the viewer to become aware and in essence enter 6he film and make the film more realistic than it is. Once the environment has been set up by the film, the film moves on to the second stage which is the problem. The second stage is where the main character ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In classical hollywood narratives the camera positions frontal shots in order for the audiences to feel connected and sucked into the film. However, Tarantino has done the opposite by showing multiple scenes with no frontal shots. The first time the film presents this kind of shot is when Vincent is having a full on conversation with Jules (0:13:47), this is absolutely something that will never happen in a classical hollywood narrative. The purpose of a classical hollywood narrative is to connect the audiences to each of the characters, and to each scene, however tarantino neglects to achieve this. This film constantly makes its audience become aware that the film is only a film, it does not achieve to make its viewers connect and get dragged into to film. Another time the film does this kind of behavior is when the film first introduces Marcellus, once again the film describes its audience from being fully engage (0:21:15). Marcellus Wallace is one of the most important and main characters however the audience is deprived of full knowledge of this character. The film constantly has these kind of rear shots, definitely not a characteristic of classical hollywood narratives. These kind of shots however do create a suspense for each of the characters, it builds up curiosity in the audiences to see what they look like. For example the scene where Vincent finally meets Mia (0:32:20), it takes 2 minutes for the film to finally reveal the face of the mysterious main character. Despite the fact that Tarantino defied many traits from classical Hollywood narrative, he was still able to connect the audience with the film. In the same scene where Vincent first encounters Mia, the film introduces Mia in a mysterious way, the audience meets mia at the same moment as Vincent. There are many other characteristics that Tarantino uses in Pulp Fiction that connect the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. Nurturing Yields a Productive Citizen Essay Does nurturing in an early childhood stage help to create a productive citizen? Yes, nurturing children, building a loving and caring relationship in an early childhood stage allows young children to obtain a positive self concept, reach social emotional development, understand others, achieve physical growth0 and learn intellectually and morally (Love Our Children USA). First, a positive self concept (the image one has of oneself and ones strengths) sets the basis as to how a child will conduct his or herself in the future. Children with good self concepts are more likely to grow into happy and productive members of society (Arkin et al.). Parents should encourage positive self concepts in children. So, for instance, a bad day should not be shown through the teacher s attitude. The attitude shown on a bad day should mask the day they are having. This is to insure a nurturing environment for a young child. Second, along with guidance, children need nurture to help social and emotional skills develop. Many psychologists point out that there is a very strong relationship between parenting styles and the social development of children (Kasschau 80). Children from nurturing homes will, in fact, be stronger socially than children from homes without nurturing caregivers. One of the first and most important steps in promoting social development is teaching children prosocial behaviors. Prosocial behaviors are acts of kindness that benefit others such as sharing, helping others, and showing concern. Many people argue that prosocial behaviors should be learned naturally; however teaching a child prosocial behaviors is the most accurate way to ensure the quality of kindness in young children. Emotional development is another important factor in a growing child. Humans use different emotions to express their feelings to others everyday. In studying young children, one will see that no two children are exactly alike. Although they may look alike, identical twins differ in personality. • 16. Differences Between Dauntless Book And Book It is always quite exciting when a novel is adapted to be shown as a movie. I m usually in the habit of comparing and analyzing if the movie version was faithful to the book. Many times the movie director and screenwriters have to decide whether to include certain scenes or not. This aspect is controlled by the rating they want the movie to end up with, depending on their target audience. I found a number of differences between Roth s novel and the movie. In my opinion the general imagery of the movie matched the one of the book. For example, I imagined the choosing ceremony to look like just like it did in the movie. Also, Tris house, school, neighborhood, the Erudite headquarters and the dauntless train matched the vision in my head. One thing that didn t match in my opinion was the Dauntless headquarters. I imagined the chasm to be more dramatic and the fighting ring and dormitories were portrayed differently than I had imagined. Some of the events in the movie were also different than in the novel. In the novel Peter stabs Edward in the eye with a butter knife, but in the movie this scene does not appear at all. In the novel, one of the new dauntless initiates falls to her death on the first day train jump, in the movie this does not happen. Visiting day at Dauntless headquarters is a scene ...
