Implementing A Major Zone Reorganization ( Rosenberg )
Christine was in charge of implementing a major zone reorganization (Rosenberg, 2003, p. 262).
Unfortunately, that was half the battle, Christine priority mission and focus was Deregulation .
This meaning is the reduction or elimination of government power in a particular industry, usually
enacted to create more competition within the industry. (Francis, J. 2003 2016) stated,
Deregulation can cause weaker, smaller organizations to be forced out of the market . This
translates to loss of jobs. Adding on to her plate, Christine had to figure the changing and possible
combination of the four offices along with the different cultures. She is very knowledgeable of the
industry especially after working for one of the top notch insurancecompanies. This change has
made it difficult for Christine, she has combine four offices into one. Combining these offices
would require a few cost cutting moves. After the short notice of this change, Christine realized the
challenge of transitioning and combining her managers to develop the best strategy for the
upcoming move.
In the insurance industry, the first regulation took place in the 1850 s. By then many insurers had
to gamble with prices to get on top of their competitors. These insurers were providing coverage
and protection for customers dealing with disabilities and workers compensation. (Rosenberg, S.
2003, p.263) stated, Changes in the way people live and work necessitated new coverages. With
deregulation creating a new

Essay on Chinese Women and the Impact of the One-Child...
When one thinks of China it is common to conjure up images of rice fields and of the great wall,
but also of crowded cities teeming with people and bicycles and cars. One rarely thinks of a
nation populated mostly by men and boys, with a noticeable yet surreal absence of women.
While this is a bit of an exaggeration, it has been noted over the past several decades that there is
an alarmingly imbalanced sex ratio. The policy has clearly contributed to the nation s unnatural
gender imbalance, as couples use legal and illegal means to ensure that their only child is a son.
There are 117 men to each 100 women in China (Goodkind, 2004). In the 1979, when the one child
policywas enacted, the intention was not to create this imbalance, but to... Show more content on

Overall this movement was successful and China s population growth decreased from 1970 to 1976
(Fitzpatrick, 2009). Eventually this decrease slowed, and leveled off, prompting the government to
take further action to slow the booming population. In 1979 a policy, known internationally as the
one child policy but more delicately called the policy of birth planning , was introduced requiring
couples from China s ethnic majority to have only one child (Cai Lavely, 2003).
While it seems somewhat reasonable for a government to encourage family planning, and to
provide the population with access to birth control, it seems a bit out of line for them to ask a
family to have only one child. The pressure of only having one child, in combination with a
cultural favoritism toward males is what makes the one child policy so gravely concerning. It is
clear that the excess female infant mortality is directly attributable to the birth control policy,
which caused the pre existing prevalence of son preference to escalate. In China, son preference
is the product of ingrained social norms. Girls and women still occupy a lower social status in
society (Zilberberg, 2007). The one child policy requires authorization for each birth children are
required to be reported to receive documentation that allows them to be part of society to attend
school, to hold a job in adulthood, and to marry. Women are consistently

Narrative Essay On Sports Injury
Growing up in Middle Georgia, sports were played year around. There was never a down time,
especially in the Thompson household. I was constantly playing a sport. Injuries were bound to
happen, some worse than others. During my athletic career, two injuries were worse than others. I
grew up less than three miles away from the Warner Robins American Little League. This is where
I started my passion for baseball. Every spring, my dad would sign me up to play. At the end of the
season, the coaches would pick the best players to play on the All Star team. The All Star team
would compete against local teams in our District. If you win districts, you would compete for the
State Championship, then the Southeast Region Championship. If you win the... Show more content

On our days off between games, we would have two a days. We would have practice in the
mornings and in the afternoon. During one of those practices, I was going through fielding
workouts. As we were practicing, I misread a line drive that hit my middle finger on my right hand.
The impact fractured my finger. The fractured finger ruled me out for the rest of the District
tournament, the State tournament, and the Region tournament. Fortunately, our team went
undefeated in each tournament to send us to the Little League World Series in Williamsport,
Pennsylvania. The second injury was much worse in nature. During the fall of 2014, I was a
sophomore at Perry High School. I was the starting tight end on the varsity football team. On
October 17, 2014 we played a cross city rival Veterans High School. At the time, we were
competing for a playoff spot.
Around five minutes left in the 2nd Quarter, I ran a slant route to the middle of the field. My dad
recalls me getting hit, head to head with the linebacker. I remember picking my helmet and
running to the sidelines. My head was killing me. I sat on the bench with trainers around me. I
went through a few tests and they diagnosed me with a mild concussion. After talking to my

Change
Some people embrace change while others resist it. Is this true of the texts you have studied? In
your answer you should make close reference to your prescribed text and at least one other related
text.
Change is a process that affects individuals and their environments. Some people choose to embrace
change, while others resist it. Macbeth ; the song The Times They Are A Changin and the episode
of the Twilight Zone, A Stop at Willoughby all successfully convey the notion of change and
demonstrate how individuals and societies can embrace or resist change.
William Shakespeare s tragedy Macbeth displays how people embrace or resist change, in

Techniques including metaphor and symbolism are used to display the notion of change and
attitudes towards it.
Dylan represents how change can be violent by expressing it as a flood. Floods are known to be
violent, dangerous and natural. The symbolism of the water is also important. In Literature water
is used to represent life, therefore inducing the notion that change is a part of life and inevitable.
Metaphorically change is a flood, waters...have grown...better start swimmin Or you ll sink like a

resist it, or it will hurt you and pass you by. He who has stalled...gets hurt , a stark warning about
the consequences of resisting change.
The song centres around the warfare associated with change battle outside And it is ragin . The

focused solely on war during that era (the 1960s). It also displays the different attitudes that

President George Bush s No Child Left Behind Act Of 2007
Politics have made up a large part of public education in the United States of America since Anglo
Saxons came over from Europe. The effects that politics and governmental policies have had on
public education have been evident throughout the history of the United States and are still
apparent today. Beginning with assimilation and acculturation in the 17th century and continuing
on to programs such as President George Bush s No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 and the
Mississippi Healthy Students Act of 2007, it is clear that governmental policies have and will
always affect public education in the United States. As many European settlers made America their
new home, their main goal was to assimilate Natives and create a country based off of their strong
Catholic beliefs. Native Americans were torn from their cultures and were forced to learn the ways
of the Europeans. Public schools first began in America when the Anglo Saxons created schools for
Native American children to be stripped from their own cultures and hurled into that of the
Europeans.
While times changed in America, the effects of government policies on public education only
became stronger. Robert N. Gross discusses the rising of parochial schools in the progressive era
due to the effects governmental influences in public schools in his article Public Regulation and
the Origins of Modern School Choice Policies in the Progressive Era . Gross says:
Mass Catholic schooling in the United States originated as a

The Population Of St. Paul s Informed On The Consequences...
A survey is currently being administered to the residents of St. Paul s Grenada, to determine are
villagers in the community of St, Paul s informed on the consequences of crime. St. Paul s is a
residential area located in the south east of Grenada, with the majority of the residents from the
generation X and Y age range, with few residents in the baby boomer category. Upon completion
of this survey, the results should help to identify; the level of awareness of villagers to the new
laws passed by Grenada parliament on the crimeand their legal penalties, determine the thoughts on
the past consequences compared to the present, determine the villagers attitude towards the new
penalties of crime and find out whether the consequences are deterring factors to thought and action
of committing crime. Moreover, to help gather and process information needed to help make valid
and reliable conclusions, quantitative survey research through the use of structured questionnaires
is used.
Questionnaire was chosen to gather information on villagers since; adequate information can be
collected from a large size of the villagers in a short period of time and in a cost effective manner.
Also, the information captured from villagers and quantified through the use of charts, graphs and
table with limited effects to its validity and reliability. The structured questions allowed for
exploration of the pattern and trends, which aided in understanding the awareness of villagers. Its

Statement Of Purpose For Journalism
Ezra Pound once said that literature is news that stays news. For me, literature is the very essence of
the enduring power of any great work of art. In journalism industry, it plays an important and
fundamental role in news reporting and communication. I deem literature is the art that uses

Essay about Richard Hofstadter s The Age of Reform
Richard Hofstadter s The Age of Reform
In 1955, Richard Hofstadter wrote his Pulitzer Prize winning book The Age of Reform, about the
Gilded Age. Hofstadter s arguments about the Populist and Progressive movements and their
origins started debate and renewed scholarship on the Populist and Progressive movements. Many
historians did not agree with Hofstadter s arguments and published their own papers stating their
conclusions based on their own research. This scenario occurs all the time in the history field. One
historian writes a book or paper and other historians accept or reject his arguments by doing their
own research and making their own conclusions. Many historians wrote about the Progressive era
after Hofstadter did. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He argues that for the early part of the history of the United States the culture of the nation
centered on the farmer and the agrarian myth. The agrarian myth is that the independent family
farmer was what drove the nation. Hofstadter states that framers enjoyed a certain privileged
status in society. He argues that by the late 1870s this image or status was in decline and that
farmers began to resent this loss of status. He asserts that the Populist movement was born out of
this resentment. He explains that this resentment towards city dwellers those whose opinion of
farming was declining was why many Populists described the city as crime infested and disliked
immigrants. He viewed populists as being hysterical, raving, and very nativist. He says that the
ideas expressed by the Populists made their way to the cities where professionals latched on to
them. These professionals he argued felt the pinch from immigrants and crime. These professionals
became the members of the Progressive movement. He viewed progressives as more practical, less
hysterical, and more patronizing. To Hofstadter the Populist and Progressive movements were
borne out of a status revolution in the United States. Hofstadter presents an interesting argument to
explain Populism and Progressivism. At the root of his argument is that people are more likely to
feel resentment when their status is at stake rather then when their income or jobs are. This is an

Analysis Of A Wall Of Fire Rising
What is Our Purpose on Earth?
A Wall of Fire Rising is a wonderful book written by Edwidge Danticat. Edwidge was born in
Haiti in 1969. She s written three plays and seven novels. In the Wall of Fire Rising theirs three
main characters which are little guy, Guy, and Lili. Now little guy starts preparing for the play he
was going to be in, which has some lines which seem to always get to his father Guy. Why did Guy
get into the air balloon and jump out? Maybe he thought he d survive and was willing to take a
chance. It could also be that it was his only way to feel something more then he felt for a long time.
Guy was so worried about little guy doing the play and remembering his lines. In the story it
says, Guy struggled with the letters of the slave revolutionary s name as he looked over his son
s shoulders, I see some very hard words here, son ( Danticat 149). Why was he being so hard on
little guy about the speech ? Saying things like very hard words here ,like his son was incapable
of learning his lines or was it deeper (Danticat 149). Boy recites his lines, A wall of fire rising
and in the ashes, I see the bones... (Danticat 149). The lines left Lili and Guy both with a strange
feeling it says( Danticat 149). Since boy read his first lines Guy wouldn t let him read them again.
He d say things like We have heard them, Guy said, Don t tire your lips (Danticat 151). Why didn t
guy want to hear them again? What was the effect it had on him?

Smooth Muscle Contraction Research Paper
Noradrenaline is chemical transmitter at the post ganglionic sympathetic nerve ending and also
adrenaline from the medulla of the adrenal gland. This happens from the stimulation of the
sympathetic nervous system. Combined actions of both adrenaline and noradrenaline you get these
major physiological responses to sympathetic stimulation;
Contraction of the smooth muscle (example. Blood vessels, pupil of the eye) actions of both
adrenaline and noradrenaline effects result in stimulating alpha (A) receptors located on the
smooth muscle cells. The most important action is on the vascular smooth muscle; large arteries
and veins as well as arterioles are constricted, from this it results in decreased vascular compliance,
increased central venous pressure and increased peripheral resistance. These all contribute to an
increase in systolic and diastolic arterial pressure. (a) receptors involved in smooth muscle

The twitch tension of fast contracting fibres (white muscle) is increased by adrenaline, particularly
if the muscle is fatigued. Whereas the twitch of slow (red) muscle is reduced. These effects depend
on an action on the contractile proteins, rather than on the membrane and the mechanism is poorly
understood. In humans, adrenaline and other b2 agonists cause a marked tremor: shakiness that
accompanies fear, excitement or the excessive use of b2 agonists (example: salbutamol) in the
treatment of asthma examples of this. This results from an increase in muscle spindle discharge,
coupled with an effect on the contraction kinetics of the fibres, these effects combining to produce
an instability in the reflex control of muscle length. Beta receptor antagonists are sometimes used to
control pathological tremor. The b2 agonists also cause long term changes in the expression of the

Comparing The Starry Night And The Scream
The Starry Night and The Scream Vincent Van Gogh was born in the Netherlands on March 30,
1853. He pursued many other things in his life before deciding to become an artist. He was
brought up in a religious atmosphere, being the son of a preacher. He was a preacher himself for
a while in Borinage, a mining district in Belgium. At one point he wanted to dedicate his life to
reaching out to those in poverty. At other points in his life he worked as an art salesman and a
bookstore clerk. After being dismissed from preaching in Belgium, he remained there and began
to study art. This period, his early Dutch period, was characterized by somber tones and sharp
lighting. The most famous painting to come from this period was in 1885 and was called The
Potato Eaters . In 1886, he joined his brother Theo in Paris. He was involved in the art world as
well, as a manager of Goupil s gallery. Van Gogh began to study with Cormon and his dark somber
palette began to lighten. He started using short brush strokes and was leaning more towards the
Impressionist style (Vincent Van GoghBio). Van Gogh had a dream of establishing an art school
and traveled south to Arles to pursue that dream. He wanted his friends to join him, and Gauguin
was the only one that did. His relationship with Gaugin did not end well though. It s not certain
exactly what happened, but there were disputes between the two of them and it ended with a

##riesel s Speech In The Perils Of Indifference By Eliie...
American Jewish author and Holocaust survivor, Elie Wiesel in his critical speech, The Perils of
Indifference, suggests his message about the inhumanity of indifference and how the importance of
resistance is still relevant today. He develops his message by emphasizing how indifference is not
only dangerous, but is the most evil characteristic of our society today. For example, Wiesel states
in paragraph 13, Indifference, then, is not only a sin, it is a punishment. These truthful words assist
in understanding the author s emphasis on indifference and its danger in our world; to add on,
Wiesel also uses rhetorical questions throughout the text to highlight powerful and important users
of indifference during the time period which he lived in. A questionfrom the speech in paragraph 20
is, Why the indifference, on the highest level, to the suffering of the victims? This line in the text
exemplifies his belief that indifference is humannature if we do not rid ourselves of it. In brief, the
author explains how indifference is tempting in society because of the degree of effort one puts
into being indifferent, which is little to none. Wiesel s purpose is to inform the readers why
indifference is inhumane and to create awareness of indifference in order to persuade those readers
not to be indifferent to others. He establishes both serious and thankful tones for readers by using
stylistic and/or rhetorical device such as repetition and imagery in order to develop his

Design And Implementation Of A Defense Security Perimeter...
Design and Implementation of a Defense Security Perimeter System
Network security is becoming an increasingly important concern for small and midsize companies.
A breach in internal or external security can severely damage a company s most important
operations, hampering productivity, compromising data integrity, reducing customer confidence,
disrupting revenue flow, and bringing communications to a halt. This paper examines some of the
new security challenges that confront small and midsize businesses today, and discusses how

(InfoSec) is the protection of information and its critical elements, including the systems and
hardware that use, store, and transmit that information. To protect information and its related
systems, each organization must implement controls such as policy, awareness training, security
education, and technical controls. These security controls are organized into topical areas, and any
successful organization will be able to integrate them into a unified process that encompasses this.

For my final project, I conducted my observation on an eight month old little boy named Noah. I

in the late afternoon at his home. The duration of the evaluation took place in the family room. It
was a large room that was fully carpeted. The room had a large L shaped sectional couch in one
corner and a round solid wooden coffee table directly in front of that. I obtained his parents
consent before conducting my experiment and collecting my data for this section of the final

The Role of the Visual in Today s Society Essay
The Role of the Visual in Today s Society
The role of the visual in today s society is quite apparent. Beautiful, flashy images are everywhere
in the media, and all of them serve the same purpose. The purpose of all of these images is to get
you, the consumer to buy the product that is being sold, or at least buy into the idea that a
particular product represents. The role of the visual in modern architecture is very much the same.
The purpose of the visual in modern architecture is to publicize or privatize a building through
any media necessary to create the desired representation, and thereby sell the idea. In the case of
Le Corbusier, the goal was to create a very visual and public architecture. He recognized that not ...

The few original pictures that Corbusier took of this building are what actually put Villa Savoye on
the map as an architectural achievement. The images speak of movement, seen in the ramp. They
demonstrate the progression one would take from the ground to the roof, and from there to the vast
expanse beyond. They also speak of the temporality of the building, as if it just happened to be
there when Corbusier was walking by and decided to take this picture. There is also an inherent
lack of privacy common to all of the images. It is as if the whole world can look inside of the
building and see what the occupants are doing, which is precisely what Corbusier wanted. Thus
he took them and published the images, which were then distributed all around the world. He
also mad a movie of the building called L Architecture d aujour hui (1929), which demonstrated
his voyeuristic approach to how architecture should be seen. Villa Savoye, for example, is an

Awakening Into A World Of Foul Beasts
Awakening into a world of foul beasts that hide in every corner is no easy thing for a beginner
Hunter. Don t worry, clearing the City of Yarnham in Bloodborne will be an easy thing to do
once you know where to go, how to get the checkpoints and how to defeat the bosses in Yarhnam.
As soon as the game starts, you re forced to create a contract that allows you to customize your
own character to fight against the bloodthirsty beasts of this world. There are different classes of
warriors in these options, but the most powerful to start with is the troubled past class; giving
you a boost in strength and agility in the game. Once the contract is set, head down the stairs of
the clinic to find a lycanthrope. I know it s tempting, but don t do anything, let the beast kill you.
Once this happens you ll awaken in a place called Hunter s Dream. In this place, find the
messengers on the floor and choose whatever weapons fit you best. Head back to Yosefka s Clinic
through the tombstones and defeat the lycanthrope. With your new weapons, head out to explore

Resistance of Spot Welding on Galvanized Steel Sheet
Literature review starting with the research topic of the modeling and analysis of resistance spot
welding on galvanized steel sheet used in car body manufacturing.
In the process analysis of resistance spot welding on galvanized steel used in vehicle body
manufacturing, the quality of spot weld is checked from the tensile strength and shear strength
properties of the spot weld. The four important parameters in this analysis are:
a.Weld current
b.Weld time
c.Pressure
d.Hold time
These four factors determine the quality of weld. For the first stage of analysis, non linear
behavior of the process become one of the main problem. So the author proposed an Artificial
Neural Network (ANN). This Artificial Neural Network is capable of dealing and gives accurate
result for non linear systems. This research paper aims to give the proper solution to control the
process input parameters to make better spot weld joints with specified strength. In the second
stage of the research work, Genetic Algorithm with fitness function based on Artificial Neural
Network (ANN) model was used for determining a set of optimized process parameters.
At the end of research paper it is concluded that the analysis shows that there is a non linear
relationship between weld parameters and tensile shear strength properties of spot weld joints. The
proposed Artificial Neural Network was very much effective for modeling the non linear systems.
The analysis conducted by the use of Artificial

The Life of Aldous Huxley
What if I told you that one of the greatest writers of all time was on drugs? Well what I am saying
is true! That artist s name is Aldous Huxley. He was born on July 26, 1894. He was born near
Godalming, United Kingdom. He grew up with a dad named, Andrew Huxley. His mom died early
in his life due to cancer. He was born with a very large family of 4 brothers and 1 sister.
Aldous Huxley wrote many famous novels. Like, Crome Yellow , Antic Hay , Those Barren
Leaves , and Point Counter Point . One of his most famous novels that he wrote was, Brave New
World . Which was written before Hitler and Stalin came into power. Huxley spent a lot of time

The structure of Crome Yellow owes much to Thomas Peacock a number of people are gathered
together at a house party. The characters dance, go swimming, attend a garden fete, fall in love:
but above all they talk. The book is a conversation in which the characters are employed primarily
as vehicles for the prolific and imaginative ideas.
It is a useful device that, Huxley was to adopt again in subsequent books, through seldom quite so
successfully as he employs it here. In his novel Crome Yellow Huxley presents a gallery of
characters.
Many of whom will be resuscitated with slight variations in his later novels. Huxley continued to
write novels and short stories and eventually assumed a more responsible role of a teacher. During
the 1930 s he developed an increasing interest in politics and more particularly in the contemporary
cult of pacifism.
He also began to turn his attention to the Eastern mystics, and the third and final stage in his
development can be inferred from the works of his period. Huxley always recognized himself the
need for some kind of religious approach to the universe: moreover throughout his career as a
writer. He also showed a recurrent interest in the phenomena of mysticism. He refused to abandon
his empirical attitude in such matters, and the approach to his later philosophical position was

Margery Kemp s Interactions with The Virgin Mary
According to her own testimony, Margery Kempe s spirituality involved deeply passionate
experiences of Christ and the Virgin Mary. Kempe had the gift of tears meaning that, for years, she
was unable to attend mass without crying profusely, and, as often as not, sobbing loudly and
theatrically. Her adventurous life included a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, where much weeping and
wailing took place, and tanglings with several Bishops, including the Archbishop of Canterbury. In
chapter 3 Margery has a rather jumbled account of a vision of heaven. Then Margery starts to
begin to have the desire to stop having sex. Which I assure you doesn t go well with her husband.

English. Margery, who has been wearing white (virgin s clothing, suggesting a religious vow) is
asked by this priest to leave off wearing it, and she obeys. He also sends her to be servant to a
poor woman, as a form of penance, though I m not sure what for. Although she starts to wear
white again in chapter 37 because God tells her to. Then later on Margery has a literal marriage
to God, followed by visions of angels, divine smells and music, and a warmth in her breast which
lasts, she tells us, 16 years. One result is that she weeps when she sees a handsome man on the
street, because it makes her think of Christ. Later on she elaborates on the marriage with a
strong suggestion of a sexual consummation. Here and in the next chapter 37, there are more
conversations with God and he promises to be closer to her. She is also told to resume wearing
white, which her confessor allows because he sees it s God s will and doesn t dare object. Then
God has her give away all her money, so that she must live on charity. She doesn t like this at all,
but God reassures her with people who give her charity and help. Then a Priest came from England

Comparing The Integumentary System And Reproductive System
1. Integumentary System and Reproductive System
Several systems work alongside the integumentary system to keep the body functioning properly.
For instance, the integumentary system and the reproductive system are dependent on each other.
The skin, an organ of the integumentary system, protects the organs of the reproductive system,
such as the uterus. The mammary glands, highly modified glands that are part of the integumentary
system, provide milk for an infant after its birth. Skin stretches to accommodate a growing fetus in
the uterus as well. The reproductive system has many functions that aid the integumentary system.

The article Cockpit Controls Now Available As a Wrist Tablet and Mega Helmet written by
Rebecca Boyle describes a new full length cockpit command mechanism controlled through a
touch screen and an all seeing helmet. The innovation is a pilot commanding tablet that
supervises all the controls in the cockpit, also the helmet that creates a full angled view through
a glass screen on the helmet in front of the eyes. Boyle writes Equipped with a huge helmet and a
handy wrist attached device, future fighter pilots will have maps, surround sound, radar and

words, the author is saying that each soldier will have access and use of all command control
technology at the swipe of a finger or touch even when they re not inside of the fighter jet as long
as they have the full angled helmet and touch screen device on them. This is significant because it
makes everything so much more easier for the soldier and less dependent on movement to use the
control panel rather than touching a touch screen placed on their wrist. Also this is significant
because the helmet is giving them a full length view 360 degrees. If the United States military was

Analysis Of Lather And Nothing Else By Hernando Tellez
Lather And Nothing Else is a short story by Hernando Tellez about a barbour that must shave a
customer s face, but he realizes that his customer is on the opposite side of a violent political
conflict that has gone wrong. When the barbour realized who the man was, he quickly knew there
were only two decisions to make in this tough situation. While shavingthe customer s face, the
barbour plays through scenes and decisions in his head on whether to keep doing his job or to end
this entire political conflictby exposing his identity and killing the customer who happens to be the
cause of this mass destruction between two political parties. Throughout the story, the barbour is
narrating this experience in first person. Not only describing what thoughts went through his head
but also the conversations that went on throughout that time he spent shaving the man s face to
give the reader more description of what went on scene by scene. In paragraph one, the barbour
realized who the man was from the first glimpse he caught of him. The man s name was Captain
Torres(Paragraph 5). Although he knew who the man was, Captain Torres did not have a clue that
the barbour was on the opposite side of the political conflict, or so that is what the barbour
believes. The barbour narrates and guides the reader of what exactly went through his head on that
day. When Captain Torres sits down for his shave, he starts to talk about the conflict saying, the

Essay About Teenagers
I believe the children are the future are the words of the late Whitney Houston which many
heard while growing up. Teens are changing rapidly as a result of changes in society and other
changes. Few people want to speak to teens, but cannot do so anymore because most if not all
the teenagers think they are grown. The people the teens associate themselves with or even
spend time with is one the main reasons why they have been changing. Their friends contribute
greatly in the decision making aspect of their lives; they manage to do this in numerous ways.
The teens are now becoming reckless as they believe their friends are always right. This results in
them being out of control where parents and teachers are unable to steer them in the right path or
even talk to the teens. Teenagers are being involved in sexual activities and as a result, it has an
impact on their social behavior, their risk of STD s and the risk of pregnancy. Some of these teens
are very innocent but they love to follow their friends. Teenagers back in the days would be
solely focused on their school work and house work if they had any. Nowadays, it is much
different. As mentioned before, society has changed, and it has not changed for the best but the
worst. Teens would never talk back to their parents at a particular point in time, unfortunately,
that is what is trending now. How is it possible to disrespect the elders? Does that even make
sense? No, it does not, but the activities that they are indulging in are causing these actions. Teens
are sexually active as they are left loose and with no guidance as these parents are afraid to speak
to their children. Any teenager would be, not knowing what the outcome would be. It can be
noticed when these teens are involved in sexual activities as their manners, morals and self
esteem are gone. Little good morning is said, but only when they feel like it or if they think it is
necessary. Parents, teachers and some friends cannot even have a conversation with them as they
are ignorant and behave rambunctiously when spoken to. These activities allow teenagers to be
bold in the wrong way. Going to school with bite marks on them just to prove a point to their
friends is one of the ways in which this

Just from the title of this article the audience can raise many questions. Towards whether their own

The imagery that 4 Corners has produced in this text really forces the audience to visualise the

was dragged through the town square to her final destination before the ending of her life. In the
minds of the audience it creates a dreadful scene of pain and anger, and immediately images flow
into the audience of skin scrapping against the ground, the screeching screams from the young girl

Adolf Hitler s book Mein Kampf or also known as My Struggle that was published sometime
between 1925 and 1927 clearly describes his political viewpoints, moreso on race . His story
supposedly is directed on his development of his ideas and the Natzi movement with a mixture of
half truths, big lies, scurrilous attacks, and idealistic emotional appeals. Specifically, Hitler
highlights the importance of race and explains the struggles occurring in Western Europe at the
time. Hitler completely rejects the idea of Marxism and Communism, and opposes the belief that

Hitler states, It is idle to argue which race or races were the original representative of human
culture and hence the real founders of all that we sum up under the word humanity (Hitler 605).
According to himself, the top is a Germanic man with light skin, blonde hair, and blue eyes,
known as Aryan. He is stated as the founder of all higher humanity and represents the prototype
of all that we understand by the word man . Hitler disapproved of Marxism because it disregards
the idea of nationalism and the importance of race. Through Hitler s eye, Marxism basically
handed the world over to the Jews, in which the Jews would have much control over Europe. In
addition, he felt as though Marxism would give the Jews power in order to enslave and destroy
people that are not Jewish. Jews contaminated aspects of culture such as art, literature, and theater
and they convert these significant elements of society into their own beliefs. Overall, the Jews
wanted to eliminate all others and control the Germans for their own gain. It was the battle for
world domination; racially, culturally, and politically between the Aryans and the Jews. Hitler
wanted to keep the Jews and Aryan separate because he felt as though the Jews were truly evil
people and should be eliminated and the Aryans should be kept pure. Mixing between races would

Comparing The Piano, Sweetie And In The Cut By Jane Campion
Within film, stories are typically told through the perspective of a male; many have attempted
changing this setup, yet women s voices are still an uncommon phenomena. Jane Campion, director,
brings to light the necessity for a female narrative in cinema. Campion utilizes feminist film
techniques and artistry within her shots to compose an indirect dialogue, critiquing the male
dominated filmindustry. All the while, Campion simultaneously creates a voice for women, art that
the feminine populace can empathize with.
Across the films The Piano, Sweetie, and In the Cut, Campion warns the audience of the
consequences of erasing the female voice with high angle shots, engendering the feelings of
vulnerability and isolation. The Piano displays this type of shot near the end of the film, when

As the film progresses, this dream reflects the main character s (Franny) state of mind. As she

Though the husband does not take her physical voice, he takes a part of her, a part of her story.
This parallels Franny s occupation within the film. An English teacher, numerous metaphors are

The Experience Machine By Nozick
Have you ever wished you could have anything you wanted in life? I know I have. I ve always
wanted a world where everything would be to my liking and nothing would be to my

plugging into an experience machine that allows us to undergo anything we wanted while we are
in a tank with electrodes attached to our heads. One will be plugged in for two years at a time but
while one is attached, the experiences are going to seem like they are actually happening. He takes
this machine to disprove the hedonism view that says consciously experiencepleasure is the most
important thing to living a good life. In his opinion he would not plug in because while one is in
the machine, one cannot do certain things, be a certain person or come in contact with reality. I had
never really thought about the option of experiencing anything I wanted versus living a normal life

because even though experiencing anything I wanted would cause as much pleasure as possible, it

Sonnet Analysis Essay
What s the first thought that pops in to your mind when you think of love, is it flowers, chocolates
and teddy bears or maybe a romantic sonnet?
The clichГ© of these superficial representations have been around for years and continue to plague
our society today. But are the traditional roses on
Valentine s Day and anniversaries really a good signification of true loveor would you prefer a
unique and realistic approach? Good morning/ good afternoon Mr. Day and classmates, today I will
be comparing two sonnets. These sonnets deal with the issue of ideal and unconventional love
, however they do so in exceedingly different ways.
Sonnet 90 by Francesco Petrarca is a representation of a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Petrarch s
Sonnet is an expression of his love for his mistress; he describes her as attractive and sublime. This
love may be seen as superficial.
Another renowned poet and playwright of Elizabethan times was William Shakespeare.
Shakespeare s one hundred thirtieth sonnet introduced a new era of sonnets. Far more different
from traditional sonnets of the 1600 s, Sonnet 130 has also been recognized as Anti Petrachian . In
comparison
Sonnet 130 by William Shakespeare has the same discourse but instead of being clichГ©, mocks
the courtly sonnets in his realistic portrayal of his mistress. He deals with the discourse of love
and he does so in a way to bring to light the superficial clichГ©s that had been held so highly.

Shakespeare concentrates on his mistress s physical imperfections by portraying to the reader that
his woman in not attractive. The reader can draw powerful images with Shakespeare s language and

How important was the role played by Edwin Chadwick in improving public health services in the
C19th?
Edwin Chadwick was important in improving public health as his work illustrated the problems,
such as pollution from factories and a lack of clean water, associated with the majority of towns in
the Industrial revolution. However, his impact was not the only factor that had influence on public
health; other individuals, the government and public attitudes were also significant in changing the
public health services throughout the C19th.
Chadwick s first major impact was his 1842 Report on the Sanitary Conditions of the Labouring
Population , in which he showed that the poor were living in dirty, overcrowded areas which

Governments at that time were extremely careful to avoid any potential increase in taxes as it
would result in them eventually losing votes and losing power. However, from 1867 onwards,
working men gained the right to vote. This led to governments having to balance public health
reforms with any tax increases, as now they had to appeal to both the wealthy and the not so
wealthy. Through the 1870s and 1880s, more laws were passed to improve the conditions in towns,
one of which was the 1875 Public Health Act.
The Public Health Act of 1975 was much more effective than the one made in 1848. Unlike the
previous Health Act, this one actually made it compulsory for towns to make some changes to
conditions, instead of just making suggestions. Sewers and drains were improved, fresh water
supplies were provided and Medical Officers and sanitary inspectors were appointed. The Act also
saw that the standards of housing were improved, the pollution of rivers was stopped and factory
working hours were shortened. All of these reforms were incredibly important as they led to a high
standard of living in towns, and an overall healthier population.
By 1900, people were generally living longer, healthier lives. Life expectancy had increased for
both men and women, and towns were cleaner and safer. Although Chadwick was certainly
important in initiating these changes, he was limited by the failure of the 1848 Health Act, his
attitude

Indifferent to my phone s vibration, I continue playing. BZZZZZZ. Still disregarding the disturbance, the music surrounds me, claiming me as its own BZZZZZZ. Annoyed, I check my phone to find three unread messages reading: Alexis, are you awake? , Alexis, did you add to the lab report yet? , and It s almost midnight, please help . Why it s only oh my, it s already 11:30 pm. I have been playing piano for the past three hours and have yet to start any of my homework. At four years old, my mom made me take piano lessons. • 4. Essay on Chinese Women and the Impact of the One-Child... When one thinks of China it is common to conjure up images of rice fields and of the great wall, but also of crowded cities teeming with people and bicycles and cars. One rarely thinks of a nation populated mostly by men and boys, with a noticeable yet surreal absence of women. While this is a bit of an exaggeration, it has been noted over the past several decades that there is an alarmingly imbalanced sex ratio. The policy has clearly contributed to the nation s unnatural gender imbalance, as couples use legal and illegal means to ensure that their only child is a son. There are 117 men to each 100 women in China (Goodkind, 2004). In the 1979, when the one child policywas enacted, the intention was not to create this imbalance, but to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Overall this movement was successful and China s population growth decreased from 1970 to 1976 (Fitzpatrick, 2009). Eventually this decrease slowed, and leveled off, prompting the government to take further action to slow the booming population. In 1979 a policy, known internationally as the one child policy but more delicately called the policy of birth planning , was introduced requiring couples from China s ethnic majority to have only one child (Cai Lavely, 2003). While it seems somewhat reasonable for a government to encourage family planning, and to provide the population with access to birth control, it seems a bit out of line for them to ask a family to have only one child. The pressure of only having one child, in combination with a cultural favoritism toward males is what makes the one child policy so gravely concerning. It is clear that the excess female infant mortality is directly attributable to the birth control policy, which caused the pre existing prevalence of son preference to escalate. In China, son preference is the product of ingrained social norms. Girls and women still occupy a lower social status in society (Zilberberg, 2007). The one child policy requires authorization for each birth children are required to be reported to receive documentation that allows them to be part of society to attend school, to hold a job in adulthood, and to marry. • 8. President George Bush s No Child Left Behind Act Of 2007 Politics have made up a large part of public education in the United States of America since Anglo Saxons came over from Europe. The effects that politics and governmental policies have had on public education have been evident throughout the history of the United States and are still apparent today. Beginning with assimilation and acculturation in the 17th century and continuing on to programs such as President George Bush s No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 and the Mississippi Healthy Students Act of 2007, it is clear that governmental policies have and will always affect public education in the United States. As many European settlers made America their new home, their main goal was to assimilate Natives and create a country based off of their strong Catholic beliefs. Native Americans were torn from their cultures and were forced to learn the ways of the Europeans. Public schools first began in America when the Anglo Saxons created schools for Native American children to be stripped from their own cultures and hurled into that of the Europeans. While times changed in America, the effects of government policies on public education only became stronger. Robert N. He argues that for the early part of the history of the United States the culture of the nation centered on the farmer and the agrarian myth. The agrarian myth is that the independent family farmer was what drove the nation. Hofstadter states that framers enjoyed a certain privileged status in society. He argues that by the late 1870s this image or status was in decline and that farmers began to resent this loss of status. He asserts that the Populist movement was born out of this resentment. He explains that this resentment towards city dwellers those whose opinion of farming was declining was why many Populists described the city as crime infested and disliked immigrants. He viewed populists as being hysterical, raving, and very nativist. He says that the ideas expressed by the Populists made their way to the cities where professionals latched on to them. These professionals he argued felt the pinch from immigrants and crime. These professionals became the members of the Progressive movement. He viewed progressives as more practical, less hysterical, and more patronizing. To Hofstadter the Populist and Progressive movements were borne out of a status revolution in the United States. Hofstadter presents an interesting argument to explain Populism and Progressivism. He pursued many other things in his life before deciding to become an artist. He was brought up in a religious atmosphere, being the son of a preacher. He was a preacher himself for a while in Borinage, a mining district in Belgium. At one point he wanted to dedicate his life to reaching out to those in poverty. At other points in his life he worked as an art salesman and a bookstore clerk. After being dismissed from preaching in Belgium, he remained there and began to study art. This period, his early Dutch period, was characterized by somber tones and sharp lighting. The most famous painting to come from this period was in 1885 and was called The Potato Eaters . In 1886, he joined his brother Theo in Paris. He was involved in the art world as well, as a manager of Goupil s gallery. Van Gogh began to study with Cormon and his dark somber palette began to lighten. He started using short brush strokes and was leaning more towards the Impressionist style (Vincent Van GoghBio). Van Gogh had a dream of establishing an art school and traveled south to Arles to pursue that dream. He wanted his friends to join him, and Gauguin was the only one that did. For example, Wiesel states in paragraph 13, Indifference, then, is not only a sin, it is a punishment. These truthful words assist in understanding the author s emphasis on indifference and its danger in our world; to add on, Wiesel also uses rhetorical questions throughout the text to highlight powerful and important users of indifference during the time period which he lived in. A questionfrom the speech in paragraph 20 is, Why the indifference, on the highest level, to the suffering of the victims? This line in the text exemplifies his belief that indifference is humannature if we do not rid ourselves of it. In brief, the author explains how indifference is tempting in society because of the degree of effort one puts into being indifferent, which is little to none. The role of the visual in modern architecture is very much the same. The few original pictures that Corbusier took of this building are what actually put Villa Savoye on the map as an architectural achievement. The images speak of movement, seen in the ramp. They demonstrate the progression one would take from the ground to the roof, and from there to the vast expanse beyond. They also speak of the temporality of the building, as if it just happened to be there when Corbusier was walking by and decided to take this picture. There is also an inherent lack of privacy common to all of the images. It is as if the whole world can look inside of the building and see what the occupants are doing, which is precisely what Corbusier wanted. Thus he took them and published the images, which were then distributed all around the world. He also mad a movie of the building called L Architecture d aujour hui (1929), which demonstrated his voyeuristic approach to how architecture should be seen. Villa Savoye, for example, is an apparatus (like a cinema) that privileges the eye over the body, movement over stasis, and fragmentation over unity. Resistance of Spot Welding on Galvanized Steel Sheet Literature review starting with the research topic of the modeling and analysis of resistance spot welding on galvanized steel sheet used in car body manufacturing. In the process analysis of resistance spot welding on galvanized steel used in vehicle body manufacturing, the quality of spot weld is checked from the tensile strength and shear strength properties of the spot weld. The four important parameters in this analysis are: a.Weld current b.Weld time c.Pressure d.Hold time These four factors determine the quality of weld. For the first stage of analysis, non linear behavior of the process become one of the main problem. So the author proposed an Artificial Neural Network (ANN). This Artificial Neural Network is capable of dealing and gives accurate result for non linear systems. This research paper aims to give the proper solution to control the process input parameters to make better spot weld joints with specified strength. • 30. Essay About Teenagers I believe the children are the future are the words of the late Whitney Houston which many heard while growing up. Teens are changing rapidly as a result of changes in society and other changes. Few people want to speak to teens, but cannot do so anymore because most if not all the teenagers think they are grown. The people the teens associate themselves with or even spend time with is one the main reasons why they have been changing. Their friends contribute greatly in the decision making aspect of their lives; they manage to do this in numerous ways. The teens are now becoming reckless as they believe their friends are always right. This results in them being out of control where parents and teachers are unable to steer them in the right path or even talk to the teens. Teenagers are being involved in sexual activities and as a result, it has an impact on their social behavior, their risk of STD s and the risk of pregnancy. Some of these teens are very innocent but they love to follow their friends. Teenagers back in the days would be solely focused on their school work and house work if they had any. Nowadays, it is much different. As mentioned before, society has changed, and it has not changed for the best but the worst. Teens would never talk back to their parents at a particular point in time, unfortunately, that is what is trending now. How is it possible to disrespect the elders? Does that even make sense? No, it does not, but the activities that they are indulging in are causing these actions. Teens are sexually active as they are left loose and with no guidance as these parents are afraid to speak to their children. Any teenager would be, not knowing what the outcome would be. It can be noticed when these teens are involved in sexual activities as their manners, morals and self esteem are gone. Little good morning is said, but only when they feel like it or if they think it is necessary. Parents, teachers and some friends cannot even have a conversation with them as they are ignorant and behave rambunctiously when spoken to.
