Mendez vs Westminster
The Trial of the First desegregated school | By Marcos Moran | Even though forgotten, the stepping
stone of Brown Vs. the Board of Education, Mendez Vs. Westminster was the first step to desegregate

We all know of the famous trial that happen on May 17, 1954, a trial that ended all segregation in
school districts all over the United States of America. With this law being enforce by the 14th
amendment, it change the whole nation, colored people were now being allowed to enter into real
academic schools, and compete for a better future. Of course I am talking about the Oliver Brown v.
Board of Education of Topeka, better known as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
. . . And since California law did not allow for separate Mexican schools, the requirement that children
at tend such schools could be considered arbitrary action taken without due process of law. (Charles
Wollenberg, All Deliberate Speed, 1976, p. 127) This case could not have gone to the Supreme Court
because the law of the state said nothing about segregating Mexican Americans in the Constitution
(http://www.cr.nps.gov/history/online_books/5views/5views5h99.htm) . On Brown vs. the Board of
Education it was a little different, because Black was considered a different race; and according to the
Plessey vs. Ferguson case of 1896, it states it could segregate a race, as long as it provides a separate
but equal law (http://www.cr.nps.gov/history/online_books/5views/5views5h99.htm).
Now that we know a little bit more information about the trial, lets learn why all the Mexican
American parents got together in order for their kids to get the same education as all the other
Caucasian kids in the neighborhood. It all started in the late 1920s 1930s. As the Mexican and
Mexican American population started to increase in California, more white Americans started getting
scared; this led to segregation in schools. Not only were schools getting segregated but housing was
also being segregated as well (Maria Blanco, The Lasting Impact of Mendez v. Westminster in the
Struggle for Desegregation, pg.

Maya Angelou The Reunion
The Reunion Synthesis Race, why are we so afraid to talk about it? The Reunion by Maya Angelou is
a short story that deals with race. While Philomena, a black woman, is playing the piano with her band
at a bar in south Chicago she sees a white woman on a black man s arm. But not just any white
woman, Beth Ann Baker of the Baker cotton gin. Philomena s parents used to work in this cotton gin
and in their home, so Philomena and Beth grew up together. Philomena is taken aback because she
sees Beth with a black man but continues to play. By the time she is done with her set Beth is gone.
Philomena becomes angry and confused and starts thinking of the things she would have said to Beth.
Then Beth comes back to talk to her and Philomena essentially just tells her to stop patting herself on
the back for being with a back man and to go to hell. The whole story is important because it talks
about privilege, more specifically, white privilege. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Dangerous Life in Tijuana
ÂĄEy!ÂĄEy!ÂĄPorque!? Yelled the clerk, as I ran out with a bottle of liquor. It was getting dark, and Tijuana
during the day may be a beautiful place but at night it s one of the most dangerous places to be in all
of Mexico. I ran into a diner and snuck into one the of booths. My heart was pounding outside my
Chest and as I was catching my breath I hear a voice. Juan!.. Juan!? I turned my head and spot a man
in a white suit carrying a leather suitcase Hola my friend , it s been a while...you look....terrible!
Rafael exclaimed What happened you used to look great I stopped amigo it s too dangerous now a

to prepare for one of the most dangerous things I dreaded to do in the first place. March 2, 2011 the

last group of people they ever see. 15 of them split up into three groups in order to balance the men
and women. I warned them ahead of time that they must listen to all directions, Do not fall behind, I

Steroids And Other Performance Enhancing Drugs
Steroids and other performance enhancing drugs have been banned from Major League Baseball since
1991; however, this law was not strictly enforced by the Major League Baseball Players Association
(Anabolic Steroids). The MLBPA to date has become much more involved in the issue of PED use in
the MLB, and they do test many of the players for traces of steroids. Few players are caught each year,
but when a big name pops up, the whole debacle headlines newspapers, constantly talked about on
sports networks and becomes a huge deal. That big name player that was caught using steroids is then
given an agreed sentence of suspended games, sometimes they are even revoked of their chance to be
in the exalted MLB Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. The use of steroids and other performance
enhancing drugs should be more heavily managed and more severely punished. For years my coaches
have told me that baseball is a metaphor for life. This is true in many ways. There are countless
activities and goals one can chase after in life, but all of them are based on the person s character. It is
critical to make wise decisions, and carry out those decisions well. Making the wrong decisions or
poorly executing the right ones will eventually change one s character in a negative manner. Although
sports differ from each other in multiple ways, every sport has an end goal that is fundamental to the
sport, and toward all activity in that sport. I have three main points about players that use PEDs: they

Fluid And Continuum Mechanics
Chapter 1: Introduction
1.1 Fluid Fluid Flow Fluid is a substance which deforms under an applied shear stress, no matter how
small it is. It cannot resist any shear force applied to it. Fluids such as Gases liquids in motion are
generally referred to as Flow . Flow tells about how fluids behave and how they interact with their
surrounding environment.
1.2 Fluid Dynamics:
Fluid dynamics is the sub discipline of Fluid Mechanics which in turn the sub discipline of Continuum
Mechanics. Fluid Mechanics dealt with the study of motion and the effect of motion of fluids [liquids
Gases] as Fluid motions are responsible for most of the transport of the pollutants. Fluid Dynamics
describes the flow of fluids.
Now a days, Computational Fluid ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of variation of temperature or Differences in Density, stratification occurs. Higher density
fluids lies below the lower density fluids. Hence, in a fluid which is stratified, the density varies with
the depth.
1.6 Heat Transfer:
If there is a difference of temperature occurs between any two bodies which are kept in thermal
interactions, then heat transfer occurs. Basically, heat Transfers in three different modes: Conduction,
Convection Radiation
1.6.1 Conduction: If there is a physical contact between any two substances or from one part of
substance to another part which are in different temperatures then there exists conduction.
1.6.2 Convection: Convection occurs mainly in moving fluids. Here transfer of molecules in a fluid
occurs resulted in heat transfer. It is of two types. As the flow caused by the buoyancy force, it is said
to be natural convection and if it needs some external influences to transfer the heat it is said to be
Forced convection.
1.6.3 Radiation:
If the heat transfer occurs without requiring any medium, then it is said to be Radiation, a third mode
of heat transfer.
1.7 Free convection or Natural

Birth Control Effects
Effects of Birth Control 11 million women are currently taking birth control orally in the U.S. Studies
have shown that 99% of the time birth control helps by preventing any type of unwanted pregnancies.
Although, many are unaware of the mental and physical health effects that birth control could have on
them.
How Birth Control Works During the beginning of each menstrual cycle, the estrogen levels in the
women s body starts to increase. Estrogen is hormone ,where once released into the female body it
begins to thicken the lining of the uterus in preparation of fertilizing an egg. When the estrogen levels
higher even more, the ovaries release an egg. This process is well known as ovulation. After this, the
progesterone levels rise. Progesterone is a hormone that thickens the lining of the uterus to prepare for
the fertilizing of the egg. During this process, the egg is traveling through the fallopian tubes, trying to
get to the uterus. When the egg is fully fertilized and it implants itself within the uterus the pregnancy
process begins. If the egg doesn t successfully fertilize or it doesn t attach itself accurately to the
uterus, then, there is no chance of pregnancy. As a result, the estrogen and progesterone hormone
levels start to decrease and the thickened uterus lining starts to shed. Birth control is a synthetic type
of the hormones estrogen and progesterone. Birth control works because it prevents the whole
ovulation process. With

been applying variety of methods to software developing field. Up to this day, we are still trying to
cross the river by feeling the stones. Where is the solution? What is the best method? The fact is that at
the professional workplace, both methods are implemented based on clients needs and client s
requirements. I will examine the two methods, compare those two methods from variety of aspects. I
will compare the methodology to professional work experience and to seek improvements based on
the articles I read and personal previous experience. Parallel comparison will be applied throughout
the text to provide readers a transparency and more unblemished theoretical understanding from the
methodology based on experimental trajectory. Waterfall and Agile Brief Introduction Waterfall
method is one of the traditional software developing method that has been implementing for decades.
Usually, clients have requests, then software developers create an initial paln; after client approves the
plan, developers follow through the plan; at the end, developers test and finish the task. Upon clients
additional requests or tests, developers add up the extra features, but in most of the case, it would be
too late or too hard to change. The entire process is not very communicative or translucent since
clients and developers generally meet just once or twice throughout the project. In the article Why
Making Software is so Difficult the author mentioned that software production is very

African American Sports Research Paper
The Integration of African American Athletes into Professional Sports In today s modern society, it s
quite hard to imagine watching professional sports without black athletes. Imagine NBA without
Michael Jordan or LeBron James. However, in the older days, black athletes were not given an
opportunity to compete in professional sports and were often segregated from the white athletes.
Boxing During the period of racial segregation, African American boxers were not allowed to
participate in the boxing heavyweight championship. Finally, in 1908, Jack Johnson, a black boxer,
was finally given a chance to fight for the most prestigious belt in boxing. He successfully defeated
Canadian boxer, Tommy Burns and broke the wall between white and black

Solar Energy Is The Best Type Of Energy
When you close your eyes and think of solar energy, what do you see? Your response is most likely
something positive such as an innovative, efficient, and renewable step forward into the future. Solar
is also thought of to be the best type of energy because the sun will never go away. Well, solar energy
will have to battle it out with natural gas and oil in the near future. As the price of oil and natural gas
continues to drop, solar energy looks less desirable as other sources become more affordable in the
short term (Sanburn 38). Josh Sanburn, author for Time Magazine, does have a relevant point while
discussing solar energy s competitors. The handful of solar energy s positives makes it easy for the
green thumbed consumers of today to overlook the many negatives. The negatives are very important
though when on the topic of something that could possibly determine the future of the whole world s
energy productivity. The number one issue with the continuation of solar energy is the price. The main
solar energy companies try to sell their panels by repetitively saying that the panels will save money in
the long run. Yet solar energy was the most costly energy source for kW/hr in 2015. The rooftop solar
craze is wasting billions of dollars a year that could be spent on greener initiatives. It also is hindering
the growth of much more cost effective renewable sources of power. Solar energy is able to stay
relevant because of the large amount of subsidies placed by the

The Story Of A Short Story
Kagome looks around noticing the sun has begun to set behind the trees sighing not really wanting to
return to the group just yet.
Sesshomaru watches her closely Start a fire I will catch you food. I will take you back in the tomorrow
morning if that is what you wish.
Kagome smiles brightly Thank you she leans in wrapping her arms around his chest squeezing tightly
to him as he puts a hand on her head patting it.
After a few moments they depart and she goes to begin the fire while he goes to look for fish to give
to her to eat.
Sesshomaru comes back with two fish just as she gets the fire started he descales them for her then
place them on sticks setting them over the fire to cook.
After a few minutes the fish are done and Kagome eats them after she was done she yawns lightly
laying near the fire to keep warm as it gets colder she soon falls asleep.
A few seconds go by and Sesshomaru takes his haori off laying it on her as she shivers Kagome then
turns on her back whimpering in her sleep.

Kagome watches helplessly on the sidelines as Sesshomaru and Inuyasha clashes against each other

The Process Of Deduction Logic
In social research, traditional and non traditional methods are used to explore and examine research
queries and relate methods of data collection and observation. One conventionally accepted method is
through deductive logic. Deductive logic is research that begins with a theory and arrives at a specific
expectation through a series of scientific steps. Both explanatory and exploratory techniques can be
used in deductive. In contrast, inductive methods, in which researchers examine specific data sets and
detect general patterns, are considered non traditional. In inductive logic, the identification of
empirical patterns result in a generalization about some social process (Schutt, 2012, p. 45).
The process of deduction logic begins with statements, also known as premises , that are assumed to
be true. A determination is made regarding additional factors that must be true if the premises are true.
A special logical structure, known as modus ponens, is a rule asserting that a hypothetical proposition
according to which if the antecedent be affirmed, the consequent is affirmed (Merriam Webster, 2015).
The form of any argument having the structure of modus ponens is as follows: Given P, if P then Q,
so, Q. Using this structure, any argument is stated as the major premise, the minor premise, and the
conclusion. In this way, the statements are evaluated in terms of validity and soundness.
The strength of deductive reasoning is its consideration of validity and

The IRL Fetish Nathan Jurgenson Summary
At one point not that long ago it was only possible to update a Facebook status from a phone if you
subscribed to the text messaging service offered by the site that would allow you to text in an update.
There was no such thing as scrolling through your newsfeed as you rode the subway to work or waited

saying: Each moment is oversaturated with digital potential: Texts, status updates, photos, check ins,

15). This research speaks volumes to the overall effect that the spread of technology has on our
addiction to social media. It shows that we now value our time and interactions that happen over the
Internet more than we value the true face to face interactions that real relationships actually depend
on. One study performed on a university campus in Turkey used a questionnaire to evaluate different
factors that could have significantly positive or negative effects on a relationship. This study
performed by Egeci and Gencoz found that ...those with lower communications problems...were more
likely to experience relationship satisfaction (388). The type of communication that is proven to help
grow relationships occurs most effectively face to face, where people can read each other s emotions

Logical fallacies
My whole paper will be over the logical fallacies and the examples I had made for each one. Now this
all have to do with some kind of philosophy terms and what they truly mean but in my own words and
examples. 1. Mere Assertion Mere Assertion is when someone doesn t want to give up an argument
even known they can t prove their right with no evidence. * Example: My daughter says she is right
when she said she saw a movie last night, but she has no movie ticket to prove herself innocent.
2. Circular Reasoning The Circular Reasoning is when every argument comes out the truth or
considers the same evidence. * ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
* Example: My friend had but his girlfriend s name on him and every time he would go out he would
cheat on her and say it was his sister s name. So it would be argument between the two of them.
7. Sweeping Generalization Sweeping Generalization is like when the police department has two ideas
that could lead to the story of what had happen in the case. * Example: A women had got killed and
the police had two ideas who could ve been the killer. So the police had narrowed it down to two
conclusions.
8. Slippery Slope Slippery Slope is like the alphabets because each letter has to come after each other
to work out. * Example: When they have a certain road for truck drivers to drive on and they decide to
take it away for something else. Than that means it won t ever be used again for the truck drivers
unless they go through the steps to use it again.
9. Equivocation or Changing Meanings Equivocation or changing meanings is where I would be
making my argument and then switch it to another argument to hide away from the truth. * Example:
My youngest son was making an argument with us to get away from the truth and when he tried to
turn to another argument, I told him it s better to tell the truth it will make you feel better.

Angelina E. Grimke And Sojourner Truth
The pair that I have chosen is Angelina E. GrimkĂŠ and Sojourner Truth. These two women are strong
for standing up for what they believe in. Even though they came from different backgrounds of life,
they fought for the same equal rights and freedom.
There are several similarities and differences between GrimkĂŠ and Truth. Starting from the younger
years, Agelina E. GrimkĂŠ, a white woman, was born and raised in a family that owned slaves in
Charleston, South Carolina. Opposite of her, Sojourner Truth, a black woman, was born a slave in
Ulster County, which is in Upstate New York. While both women are different ends of the spectrum,
they wanted the same for every person, this included, equal rights and freedom for every man, woman,
and slave. It is said that GrimkĂŠ s work in antislavery helped her advocate women s rights as well. The
investigation of the rights of the slave has led me to a better understanding of my own (GrimkĂŠ 771).
Truth, had a visionary experience that left her convinced God wanted her to speak the truth about the
evils of Americans sins against blacks and women (Truth 775). Both women have given speeches to
audiences of both men and women about antislavery and women s rights.
GrimkĂŠ had seven main arguments that she wanted to convince other women that slavery was wrong
and that slavery needed to be gone. First, that slavery is contrary to the declaration of our
independence. Second, that it is contrary to the first charter of human rights given to

the District Attorney s office, which lately had been not too much work. A man call Moose Malloy

years. Marlowe accepted to help Malloy, but as the story goes through, several characters appeared in

Even though he failed at the goal that he supposed to reach and later to lose the life of Marriot, he

of the event of the necklace, it made Marlowe respect the ideology of being honest as an exceptional
detective. Essentially, Marriot was the only character who gave money to Marlowe in the entire book.
Neither, Malloy, Mrs. Grayle or Mrs. Florian gave any money to Marlowe. Even though, Malloy was
the principal character who was looking for Velma, he never gave any amount of money, and Marlowe

This week presentation was good. For the prison population, I knew a little bit from watching TV. I
love watching locked up and shows like that so the populations in prison didn t surprise me. I have to

crimes that are heavily arrested for. Over all I enjoyed it and will continue to watch prison based
shows.
I knew quite a bit about the female population. Being that I am female there were a few situations that
I related to and have personality experienced. I really enjoyed the activity where we stepped up for
what we have experienced in our lives. I think we all have more in common than we will admit. We all

Robert Frost Explication Analysis
Poetry Explication Essay The poem Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening was published in Robert
Frost s New Hampshire in 1924 (Pritchard). The poem is among the most easily recognizable and
familiar works written by Frost. On the surface, this poem is a short encounter at the edge of a snowy
forest. Perhaps its outer simplicity is what makes the poem stand out in the minds of readers. The
straightforward structure and balanced rhyme pattern make it easy to recite and the imagery Frost
evokes is both beautiful and engaging. However, this surface level is only a façade to the underlying
subject matter. As Ciardi puts it, the surface level events display ... the pretended simplicity of the
narrative, suggesting that Frost intends a deeper ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He also doesn t describe the physical traits or gender of the narrator (hereinafter referred to as male).
This is an attempt to make the situation more easily relatable to a large pool of readers representing
any errand as well as any person. As Ciardi puts it, The errand ... is left generalized in order the more
aptly to suggest any errand in life and, therefore, life itself (Ciardi 14). Ciardi goes on to examine the
man talked about in the poem. This man represents the village of mankind and thus tells us that the
narrator is divided or has chosen to divide himself from society at least for a short horse ride (Ciardi
14). This division is an important theme in the poem, instantly showing us that the reflection is a
highly personal experience for the narrator. The horse in the poem, on the other hand, is the narrator s
connection to reality. Ciardi goes so far as to call the horse the foil of the protagonist for disagreeing
with his actions demonstrated in the line My little horse must think it queer / To stop without a
farmhouse near (CITE). This horse has been subject to analysis by other critics as well, Virginia
Faulkner explains that the horse represents male sexual potency (Faulkner 560). Though not many
critics agree with Faulkner in the respect that the poem is dealing with an amatory adventure, the
sexual connotations of the horse still adhere to its connection with the narrator through the symbolism

Capability And Capacity Essay
Management of Workforce Capability and Capacity Managing the capability and capacity of the
workforce at Mountain View Middle School (MVMS) has several unique challenges. MVMS is in a
rural, agricultural setting and enrollment can fluctuate as the migrant laborers move in and out of the
area. Also, there is a well established charter junior high charter school and a newer community
charter school which provide direct competition to MVMS for student enrollment. Due to these key
factors, managing capability and capacity of the staff and building can be challenging for
administrators. According to the principal of MVMS, Wes Jensen, the middle school is fortunate to

This reduces the need for in district transfers or the possible need for a reduction in workforce only to

possible management of workforce capacity and capability, MVMS and Blackfoot School District #55
(BSD#55) strive to identify potential issues or concerns for each coming school year and the long term
growth trends within the community. Over the course of several years, the district has been able to
identify the number of elementary students that will choose to attend a charter school rather than the
traditional elementary schools in the district. Additionally, the district is now recognizing that many of
these students are choosing to return to the district at the middle school level to have an opportunity to
participate in a greater number of athletic and co curricular activities. A key factor in identifying a
school s needs for the capacity and capability of its staff members is student enrollment numbers.
MVMS uses both pre registration in the spring and an analysis of the enrollment numbers from the

in a biome are interdependent, meaning they depend on each other in one way or another. The two
biomes being compared are the taiga biome and the deciduous forest biome. These two have
similarities and differences and are both a big part of human life. However, uninformed people are
negatively affecting these biomes even though they are very important to life on Earth.

Taigas have less diversity in plants compared to other biomes. The most common tree is the conifer.
Conifers include Pines, Spruces and Firs. However, there might be some deciduous species in a taiga,
too. As I mentioned earlier, the soil is very acidic and poor in nutrients so plants have to adapt to the
environment. Although it precipitates enough to water the trees, the precipitation is often frozen.
Conifers have adapted to their frozen environment by having thin needles with a waxy coating. This
reduces the amount of water lost through transpiration. Conifers have a cone structure so the heavy
snow can easily slide off. If they did not have this adaption, the branches would break off. Instead of
flowers, fungi and mosses cover the ground. Deciduous forests have five different zones. The first
zone is the Stratum zone. In this zone, there are Oaks, Beeches, Maples, Chestnut Hickories, Elms,
Basswoods and Sweet Gum trees. The second zone has young, short trees. The third zone is called the
shrub zone. Some of the shrubs that live here are Rhododendrons, Azaleas and Huckleberries. The
fourth zone is the herb zone and it contains herbal plants. The last zone is the ground zone. Mainly
mosses and lichens grow here. The trees have adapted to the forest by having thick bark. This keeps
pesky animals out and it prevents the tree form dying. Also, the leaves fall off during the winter and
the trees go into a state of dormancy to

Effects Of Alcohol On The Body s Organs And Brain Activity
Alcohol is a recreational drug which contains ethanol (Drugfreeworld.org, 2016), a depressant that
prolongs the messages from the brain to the body affecting the way one thinks, feels and behaves
(Alcoholthinkagain.com.au, 2014). Excessive alcohol consumption can have many negative effects on
the body s organs and brain activity. Major health problems such as cardiovascular disease, cirrhosis,
depression, gout and pancreatitis can occur as a result of consuming large quantities of alcohol and
have the potential to be fatal (Freeman, 2016). Binge Drinking is the act of consuming an excessive
amount of alcoholic beverages within a short period of time with intentions to become heavily
intoxicated (Dictionary.com,2014). Males in there 40 s and late 20 s are most likely to exceed the
recommended level of alcohol consumption and young women aged 18 24 are foreseen to excessively
drink alcoholic beverages (Nhmrc.gov.au, 2015). Adolescents aged 13 17 also engage in excessive
drinking although evoked due to observing others such as guardians, siblings and peers as well as the
existence of peer pressure to consume alcohol and appear socially acceptable. Binge Drinking will
have short term effects on the health of an individual leading to memory loss, vomiting and headaches
and long term effects such as anxiety, a variety of cancers and infertility (Knowyourlimits.info, 2013).
In Australia 15 individuals die from these alcohol related diseases and illnesses each day (Santow,
2014).

Explication Of The Speaker s sich An Etwas Nicht Kehren
The seventh poem describes the speaker s growing emotional imbalance. As a result of his obsessive
desire, he is caught between fearful uncertainty and hopeful longing. He cries, he cannot sleep, and he
cannot take comfort from anything or anyone. Unlike in the previous poem, the speaker does not
address anyone directly. The poem consists of only one sentence. The quick succession of three main
clauses followed by four subordinate clauses conveys the speaker s agitation and anxiety.
His emotions have overwhelming physical effects. He feels oppressed and constricted ( beklemmen ,

Due to the small note values and the large leaps that make the vocal lines, particularly in the beginning
and in bar 9, difficult to sing, the indicated tempo feels very fast. However, the song can turn out
harmless in this fast tempo if the performers do not feel a certain resistance. For coordination
purposes, it might be easier to ignore the changing time signatures of 2/4 and 6/8 and just feel two
beats with different rhythmic subdivisions in each bar. However, the pull of the speaker s emotions
can be better conveyed if each performer feels the music in the notated time signatures. Although
many of the other songs contain phrases where voice and piano are not aligned, here the tension
between the phrases seems to be particularly strong. In my playing, I translate the text s emotional
quality into a feeling of stretching, a way of phrasing with an immense gravitational force. It is vital
that both performers are aware of each other s timing and phrasing, so they are together despite feeling
drawn in different directions. The two major tempo changes are difficult to coordinate, but a feeling
for the entire song as one long sentence makes it easier to get a feeling for the proportions. In this
song, the performers can easily get caught up in the agitation the text conveys and start the crescendi

Tobacco In Kentucky History Essay
Role of Tobacco in Kentucky History
Tobacco existed in Kentucky long before the establishment of the commonwealth Kentucky. Native
Americans; such as the Shawnee, utilized tobacco medicinally and ceremonially. European settlers
brought it with them to central and, eventually, western Kentucky, and until the late 1920s, Kentucky
produced more tobacco than any other state. Kentucky remained the largest burley and dark tobacco
producer, and ranked second, in total pounds produced, to North Carolina.
Aside from recreational and ceremonial use, some Native American tribes and European Americans
remedies involved tobacco, including pain easing salves, fighting labor pains, using smoke for colic
and asthma, and chewing to soothe toothaches (Campbell). In 1964, the US Surgeon General released
its first report regarding smoking hazards. Later reports offered specific warnings about tobacco use,
including heart and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For two years, beginning in 1905, masked men known as Night Riders raided communities around the
state, most notably in Western Kentucky. They burned buildings, and destroyed fields and machinery
in order to coerce hesitant farmers into joining them. They even beat and murdered non participating
farmers to intimidate others! The government finally dispersed the ATC s monopoly in 1911.
During World War I, prices rose with the growing popularity of blended cigarettes, but dropped soon
after. Kentucky burley farmers responded with an initially successful Burley Tobacco Growers Co
operative Association that was inactive by 1926. The Great Depression worsened the situation, costing
some farmers their land! Work programs and legislation provided some relief. The New Deal
introduced the federal tobacco program (strengthened through subsequent legislation), which
stabilized prices. Farmers raised yearly quotas in exchange for price supports (minimum price per

The agricultural expansion followed by economic expansion in the region were the main factors of
creation of the new working places and thus the reason to migrate to these countries.
After second World Word, Europe fell into vigorous economic transformation that started in the
nothnern and western states and later spred to southern Europe. These transformations had impact on
migrations of the population. People decide to stay in their home country instead of migrating to the
new one. In the same time the gap between degre of socio economic development of the European
nations and that of the South American countries was widening. The impact of whole this
transformation was that migraton to the South America decreased and people prefered to move back to
the old continent.
After all we can distinguish Historical migration patterns of South America to three significant
periods:
1. until 1950, the countries of the entire South America continent were destinations for European

We Must Complete Co Ops
I will never cease to be amazed by how quickly I fall in love with ideas. I become completely
consumed with a thought. I will go to New Zealand and work there and hike everyday, living out of a
van with my best friend. I will attend Business school and love it and travel the world while doing so.
I will go to Fiji, live on a rural island for four months teaching a class of ten year olds how to do long
division. I have been lucky enough that all of the above things I have had to opportunity to do. Well. I
am still in the process of business school and I might not say that I loooove it. It is pretty great though,
you know, for university. And now my next thought. My next break through. I only found out about
this idea 24 hours ago and I have been completely consumed with it for that entire time.
In school we must complete co ops; a great chance to try out careers to get some experience under
your belt and they are paid. So it is exam time now which means procrastination is at an all time high.
Lately when I procrastinate I look up potential careers for myself. It helps to motivate me, seeing a
career that I would love to do that a business degree would be necessary for. It promotes the mindset
that maybe I am doing the right thing spending ten thousand dollars a year on stress and books. I have
a major travel bug and a huge passion for global volunteering so I always end up on their sites looking

How Far Do You Agree That Socialist Realism Was Stalin’s...
Stalin had several methods of social control that gave him such a powerful rule in Russia that even
today he still has supporters. Socialist Realism was an essential method to create this, although it was
not the most important method of social control. Socialist Realism was the second most important
method of social control as it was very effective, but not as effective as the Terror. Social Realism
allowed Stalin to be portrayed in a positive light but it was also an attempt to use art forms to sell
government economic and social policy to the Russian people. Artists were made to abandon their
new methods and instead forced to create more traditional pieces of art, such as Roses For Stalin
(Boris Vladimirski, 1949). This painting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This caused Stalin to gain a lot of support due to the sense of fear in the population, which also made
them fear Stalin himself. This gave Stalin a greater power in Russia as anyone who was reluctant to
follow him before had no choice but to obey him. Show trials were a crucial part of the Terror as they
made many people fear the consequences of going against Stalin. In show trials, the aim was not to
establish innocence or guilt as the guilt of the non Communists on trial were assumed guilty from the
start. This would show the Communists as the only trustworthy party. However, in 1936, Communists
were on trial such as Zinoviev and Kamenev. They were charged with the mysterious murder of Kirov,
a considered threat to Stalin. Although they pleaded their innocence in jail, they were persuaded to
confess. This portrayed Stalin as the only trustworthy member of the Communists and so, he should
be leader. Moreover, the Terror was Stalin s most important method of social control as it forced
people to follow him or face extreme consequences. The cult of personality was one of Stalin s most
important methods of social control. This method gave the impression that Stalin wanted to help
people and improve the living standards in Russia, and most importantly made him seem like a great
leader. This

Harriet Tubman Greatest Achievements
What Was Harriet Tubman s Greatest Achievement?
I prefer dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery. Thomas Jefferson once said. Harriet Tubman was a
strong and brave African American woman. She was born in Dorchester County, Maryland. She grew
up in Bucktown, Maryland. She grew up like a neglected weeds (Background Essay). It showed that
her childhood is not very lovely. At the age of 12, she was doing field work and hauling logs. When
her master died, in 1849, she makes her life changing decision, I had reasoned this out of my mind;
there was one of two things I had right to; liberty or death; if I could not have one I would have the
other (Background Essay). This showed that she is going to fight for her and others freedom but if she
does not get freedom then she would get death. Although Harriet Tubman s achievements as a
caregiver in Upstate New York and being a spy leader of the Combahee River raid were important, but
her achievement of being a conductor of the Underground Railroad was the greatest. One of Harriet
Tubman s noteworthy achievements was her work as a caregiver in Upstate New York. She cared for
the needy people, The aged, ... the babe deserted, the epileptic, the blind, the paralyzed, ... all found
shelter and welcome. (Doc E). This showed that she cared and welcomed all kinds of people. Much of

Robert Frost Stopping By Essentially Analysis Essay
Discoveries a concept subjected to great animosity as its seeds of intuition insists in clashing with
some orthodoxy the concrete manifestation of some man s refusal to succumb to authority. We were
once told that man would never fly, that the sun would never shine at night; that man would forever be
confined to this sphere in which it dwells. But, what we were never told was that we would own no
more, know no more, and be no more than the old stone savages if it were not for the rebellious, the
disobedient and the intransigent whose polarised experiences have crystallised ones place in society

Ironically, darkness is also our light and through our darkness we discover our light, so I found it
essential to employ a darker background to continue this idea of seeking polarised experiences
through life s dichotomies. Here, Frost also consistently prompts the notions of polarised experiences
as a vehicle to extend ones discovery and growth processes. The silhouette of the figure that is
gradually increasing in size is used to represent time as an abstract concept in which the salient figure
of the man, under the void s jurisdiction has liberated from life s such irreconcilable differences. The
woods are reflected here as a place for restoration of the spirit through unity with nature, the locus of
deep and occasionally sinister spiritual forces, a happy hunting ground for analogies of the human
condition, where both the perils and joys of isolation are portrayed. It is in this state of isolation that
the letters surrounding the man retire back to Earth in which the notions of social contamination are
obliterated in natures vacuum; one that is devoid of man s corruption. After Apple Pickings , narrative
iambic pentameter once again gives a sense of storytelling, but the poem is more a reflection. It is the

Analysis Of The Penultimate Truth By Philip K. Dick
It only takes one word to process the word language in a person s mind, and that is purely the
language that he/she speaks. Language is the immediate translator of communication. Author
Thompson Olusegun Ewata writes in his book Business Communication for Academic and
professional Purposes that Language is a vehicle that we use in presenting ideas, thoughts, feelings,
opinions to the world (Ewata 2010). In other words, language is how people share with others all of
the information they are processing. Science fiction author Philip K. Dick expands on this relationship
between language and communication in his novel The Penultimate Truth, by demonstrating the
connections and flow of information from the above ground and below ground people. ... Show more

Someone in power decides to abuse their capabilities and leads to destruction of reality. Dick displays
this corruption as a means to obscure the truth. One example, is Lantano s ability to travel back in
time. This capability leads to the disruption in historical order simply because of one man s abilities
that others do not have. A continual disturbance to the overall well being of the tank people is Stanton
Brose s hoarding of artiforgs. These artiforgs are no longer available for people who need them, such
as the pancreas that Nicholas has been searching for. After realizing what Brose has done, Adams,
Foote, and Lantano plan to kill Brose as a way to free the tank people. This revolt is a prime example
of the powerful versus the powerless. However, Adams eventually flees their plan in hopes of securing
his own safety. Adams and Nicholas realize how much of an influence the above ground world has on
the life of the tank people. Adams says, I never, I just never realized. How completely they accept it,
and Nicholas says, All the way, in every emotional level (Dick 228). The influential power, in this case
the above ground authority, has control over society without the people even knowing it. It is not until
the people are able to differentiate reality and fake information that they can escape the powerful and
the spectacle as discussed by social theoriest Guy Debord in his book Society of the Spectacle. This

Paradise Lost And Antigone Comparison
To educate a man in mind and not in morals is to educate a menace to society. (Roosevelt). Since the
beginning of time societies have existed, thriving among mankind. Societies dictate norms and
regulations for the people living within them by establishing a status quo. Since the status quo exists, a
large majority of people alter their actions and words they do and say to fit the societal norm, the
status quo in order to seem normal . As common as a status quo is to societies, so is the reality of a
rebel: someone who goes against the status quo, such as Antigone. Societies also have people who
overly conform, in turn suffering negative consequences, such as Eve. If a comparison of both works
(Antigone and Paradise Lost) are taken, it will remain obvious that Antigone materializes as a
stronger, more self independent character who is against the societal norms, whereas Eve lacks enough
inner strength and willpower to avoid conforming to the origin of the negativity of social norms. In
general, society is not an evil device to have a part in, rather, it is completely normal. If an individual
lives in a community, neighborhood, city, town, village, etc., they belong in a society. Societies
provide chaos management ; they keep people supposedly in line and provide rules. Rules are not
wicked, but sometimes certain rules may go against the morals of a person, making the rules a
negative aspect of society. This transforms the relationship of an individual existing in

Uncontrolled Driving Technology
Drifting off to sleep while driving can lead to a vehicle drifting off the road. An uncontrolled moving
vehicle is dangerous and can cause fatalities, injuries, property damage, as well as legal problems.
Staying alert and awake is crucial while driving. Rolling down the car windows creates wind in the
vehicle and can keep drivers from drifting to sleep. Passengers or hands free devices can allow the
driver to maintain an alert state of mind by engaging in conversations. Drivers of cars or trucks
sometimes find caffeine helpful to stay awake. None of these are guaranteed to prevent falling asleep
behind the wheel, and if it is possible the safest solution would be to not drive until you are fully alert
and able to give driving the focus needed. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Impossible is an almost irrelevant word when creativity, determination, and technology are combined
with a common goal. Recent attempts to apply technical advances to preventing and identifying
accidents due to falling asleep while driving have shown promise, but have not been able to go further
than prototypes. Cameras are able to record eye movements such as frequency and duration of blinks
as well as the space between the lids of the eye. This can be used to indicate the level of alertness (R.
Schleicher, 2008). The science is in place to make advances to an in car alert system for drivers, but it
would be unlikely to see it on the market in the very near future. Concerns from researchers noted that
the signal would not be effective because the device would not pick up on the fatigue of the driver
until after the eyes were showing signs of microsleep (lids staying closed for more than five seconds)
and this would likely be too late. (R. Schleicher, 2008) In addition, the cost of implementing a device
is not one the car manufacturers are going to want to pay for. Liability and privacy are more factors
that I believe will prevent a safety gadget of this type from being readily available to

management and workers, and lack of clarity in the goals of change. He formulated these results by
selecting the top four answers of respondents.
The works of Khan (1989), Jreisat (1988), and Khassawneh (2005) carried out in different time
periods, which is about 17 years. Nevertheless, there are similarities research findings about the
reasons that led to the employee refuses to change, namely the lack of commitment of the leadership
in making changes. This work has provided insight into some of the research questions on the causes
of resistance, so it is considered relevant to this dissertation.
Moreover, the work of Khassawneh can be relied on. He is a former government employee. He also is
a lecturer in the training programs conducted by the Institute of Public Administration, so it is already
familiar with the change of administration in the public sector in Jordan. Although not mentioned how
long he was active in the field of study of bureaucratic reforms,

Missouri Compromise In The 1800s
From the very beginning of the United States there was disagreement and compromise. From whether
they should revolt against England to who should lead the country. From its onset, the country was
destined for disagreement and compromise as it is governed by a democracy. This system lends itself
to compromise as not everyone can get their way. With compromise there are situations where no one
wins, as the compromise does more harm than good. The Missouri Compromise of 1820 is an
example of both sides believing they got what they wanted but looking back it was a compromise that
benefitted no one. It is crucial to understand and learn from the past to ensure the same mistakes are
not made twice. To understand the Missouri Compromise, one must ... Show more content on

Sectionalism was the excessive regard for one s region of the country more so than for the country as a
whole. In the context of the United States this was the regard for either the north or south. This divide
came about as a result of differing lifestyles with the south being a more agriculturally driven place
whereas the north was industrialized. Also included in this divide was the slavery issue, as the north
opposed slavery and the south relied upon it for their survival. The Missouri Compromise heavily
impacted this division between north and south as it pitted the two against each other on an issue that
was their core difference. On top of this issue the Missouri Compromise also created a line that
geographically divided the north and south. The 36 30 parallel was a line that prevented slavery from
crossing north, but it was also seen as a line that divided the two ways of life. Thomas Jefferson wrote
in a letter to Congressman John Holmes his concerns regarding a line dividing the country. In the
letter he wrote ...but this momentous question, like a fire bell in the night, awakened and filled me
with terror. I considered it at once as the knell of the Union. it is hushed indeed for the moment. but
this is a reprieve only, not a final sentence. A geographical line, coinciding with a marked principle,
moral and political, once conceived and held up to the angry passions of men, will never be
obliterated; and every new irritation will mark it deeper and deeper. The fear that Thomas Jefferson
expressed to his friend would ultimately come to fruition as the imaginary line agreed upon to limit
slavery was for the most part the dividing line for Civil War which would occur 40 years

Research Paper On Leonardo Da Aphrodite
The Louvre, located in the famous Paris, France, is home to the world s most historic and famous
pieces of art. It is a destination that I hope to experience before my life is over and I m sure a large
majority of people feel the same way. For this assignment, I choose the most famous and remembered
pieces of art known to mankind. Those would be the Mona Lisa, painted by the one and only
Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci a.k.a Leonardo Da Vinci, and the sculpture of Aphrodite, sculpted by
Praxiteles. The Mona Lisa started in Florence roughly around 1503 and is thought to be a portrait of
Lisa Gherardini, the wife of a Florentine cloth merchant named Francesco del Giocondo, hence the
alternative and less known title, La Gioconda. However, Da ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The statue reflects the sculptural research of the late Hellenistic Period: classical in essence, with
innovatory features such as the spiral composition, the positioning in space, and the fall of the drapery
over the hips. Aphrodite, or also known as The Venus de Milo was discovered not too long ago in
1820 on the island of Melos, Milo in modern Greek, located in the south western Cyclades. The
Marquis de Rivière presented it to Louis XVIII, who donated it to the Louvre the following year and
the statue won instant and lasting fame. Essentially two blocks of marble, it is comprised of several
parts which were sculpted separately, bust, legs, left arm and foot, then fixed with vertical pegs, a
technique which was fairly common in the Greek world, especially in the Cyclades, where this work
was produced around 100 BC (Louvre). The goddess originally wore metal jewelry, a bracelet, a pair
of earrings, and a headband, of which only the fixation holes remain and the marble may have been
embellished with, obviously now faded, polychromy. Sadly, the arms were never found, leaving her in
her iconic fashion, a figure with broken

The 1815 Eruption of Mount Tambora
Mount Tambora, located on the Island of Sumbawa, Indonesia is classified as a Stratovolcano. Also
known as a composite volcano, Tambora is a tall conical volcano (cone like structure) where layers of
the walls are built by hardened lava and volcanic ash. The term composite is used to describe the
volcano due to the composite layered structure built from sequential outpourings of eruptive
materials1. Among the most common types of volcanoes, Tambora also shares its destructive prowess
with best known volcanoes such as Krakota (1883) and Vesuvius (79 A.D). The Island of Sumbawa is
located in the middle of the Lesser Sunda Islands chain (a group of islands in the southern Maritime
Southeast Asia) and is in the province of West Nusa Tenggara3. ... Show more content on

Understanding the eruptive history of Tambora can provide crucial information needed to detect and
prepare for future events. Furthermore, it is important to test current understanding of plate tectonics
to ensure scientists are adequately prepared to predict where future volcanoes may occur, using past
volcanoes like Tambora as a model. 2.0 Plate Tectonics of Indonesia Indonesia is situated between two
tectonically active plates: Australian and Eurasian plate. It is important to understand the amount of
fault motion between these plates, as it is the major source of influence regarding eruptions in the
region. The result of these tectonically active plates is the creation of the Circum Pacific belt (termed
the Pacific Ring of Fire) and the Alpide Belt. Figure 3 provides a pictorial view of both plates and
their relation to the Circum Pacific belt. The Circum Pacific belt is the world s greatest earthquake
belt, with a series of fault lines stretching 25,00 miles7. An unfortunate circumstance for the
inhabitants of Indonesia who are situated between these two belts, the eruptions of earthquakes and
volcanoes are far too common. Essentially, volcanoes erupt either due to divergent tectonic plates
pulling apart causing an eruption, or convergent tectonic plates coming together (forming great
pressure) causing an eruption8. In the case of Indonesia and the Circum Pacific belt, the latter is more
common. Because Indonesia and

Vitro Fertilisation ( Ivf )
The topic of in Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) has become one of the most controversial treatments assisting
infertile couples. This question was formulated from the research found regarding the biological,
financial and ethical factors clearly highlighted in the articles Ovarian Cancers caused by IVF (Natural
News) and In Vitro Fertilisation Today (American Express). The research indicates that IVF has
become much more common and it is important to understand if the beneficial factors prevail over the
problems linked with IVF. This report is written to argue that IVF is not a justifiable method in
assisting infertile couples. Dictionary.com defines a biological issue as anything that changes any
natural process. This report will investigate specific biological issues that are linked with this
treatment including, the hormonal effects on females, risk to the child and success rate of IVF. Social
issues are moral problems that affect a member or members of a society directly or indirectly. IVF is
associated with many social issues, the most prominent one being funding priorities. Another issue
that is considered the most fundamental philosophical issue raised by IVF is the moral status of the
embryo, which will be discussed in this report.
IVF or the test tube baby technique is a form of sexual reproduction that involves the removal of the
female eggs from a woman s ovaries merged with a male s sperm in a laboratory culture dish. There
are five steps associated with IVF but

What Is A Probable Cause
a. I would try to get a search warrant. Besides that and making sure the suspect knows he can have a
lawyer present, I would try to get more information out of him. In this case, the probable cause (or
more than reasonable suspicion) would be the incriminating statements. Obviously this depends on the
circumstances, but if the suspects attempts to flee, hide, tries to destroy evidence, gives evasive
answers, or perhaps he has a record, or his behavior is suspicious or unusual, then that would be
acceptable as well. However, the probable cause would be stronger if there were more of these
examples present in the suspects behavior. In addition to probable cause, the warrant must have an
address and location, a reason, the names of the people

Comparing Dr. Heidegger s Experiment And Trip Up Yonder
Imagine yourself being 10 years younger than you are now. What would you look like, and how would
you act? In the passages Dr. Heidegger s Experiment , and Trip Up Yonder the characters find out, or
experiment what it is like to be young again. In these stories by drinking certain water in turns the

Dr. Heidegger s Experiment Dr. Heidegger finds the fountain of youth. He experiments the water from
the fountain of youth on his friends. He soon finds out the side effects from the water are not worth
being young again. They laughed loudly at their old fashioned attire, the wide skirted coats and
flapped waistcoats of the young men, and the ancient cap and gown of the blooming girl. One limped
across the floor like a gouty grandfather; one set a pair of spectacles astride of his nose, and pretended
to pore over the black letter pages of the book of magic; a third seated himself in an armchair (2).

people are. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

With CBT, the client must be willing to change. A lack of commitment will not support the effort
needed for CBT to be successful that poses a disadvantage of the approach. Another disadvantage of
CBT is the focus only on the present does not allow the possible underlying problems to be addressed
contributing to future emotional distress.
Including the client s family during the therapeutic process from a CBT Family Focused Therapy
(FFT) approach, the therapist can identify conflicts and unhealthy patterns of behavior that possibly
could be contributing to the child s depression. A CBT FFT approach provides the family members to
develop more effective ways to resolve conflict and improve communications and behaviors among
the family unit. Furthermore, the therapist educates the family on the symptoms and course of the
child s disorder to manage better and minimize future relapses from the child. Research shows ...FFT
to be effective in helping the client become stabilized and preventing relapse ( Psychotherapies, 2012).
FFT focuses on restructuring the interactions of the family unit by educating the members of the
disorder, building skills to better cope with the stress associated with the disorder, and teaching
families to solve any problems together.

Westminster was the first step to desegregate the United States of America. | | 5/1/13 5/1/13 Marcos Moran Professor Sullivan History 301 5/1/13 We all know of the famous trial that happen on May 17, 1954, a trial that ended all segregation in school districts all over the United States of America. With this law being enforce by the 14th amendment, it change the whole nation, colored people were now being allowed to enter into real academic schools, and compete for a better future. And since California law did not allow for separate Mexican schools, the requirement that children at tend such schools could be considered arbitrary action taken without due process of law. (Charles Wollenberg, All Deliberate Speed, 1976, p. 127) This case could not have gone to the Supreme Court because the law of the state said nothing about segregating Mexican Americans in the Constitution (http://www.cr.nps.gov/history/online_books/5views/5views5h99.htm) . On Brown vs. the Board of Education it was a little different, because Black was considered a different race; and according to the Plessey vs. Ferguson case of 1896, it states it could segregate a race, as long as it provides a separate but equal law (http://www.cr.nps.gov/history/online_books/5views/5views5h99.htm). Now that we know a little bit more information about the trial, lets learn why all the Mexican American parents got together in order for their kids to get the same education as all the other Caucasian kids in the neighborhood. It all started in the late 1920s 1930s. As the Mexican and Mexican American population started to increase in California, more white Americans started getting scared; this led to segregation in schools. Not only were schools getting segregated but housing was also being segregated as well (Maria Blanco, The Lasting Impact of Mendez v. Westminster in the Struggle for Desegregation, pg. ... But not just any white woman, Beth Ann Baker of the Baker cotton gin. Philomena s parents used to work in this cotton gin and in their home, so Philomena and Beth grew up together. Philomena becomes angry and confused and starts thinking of the things she would have said to Beth. • 5. Steroids And Other Performance Enhancing Drugs Steroids and other performance enhancing drugs have been banned from Major League Baseball since 1991; however, this law was not strictly enforced by the Major League Baseball Players Association (Anabolic Steroids). The MLBPA to date has become much more involved in the issue of PED use in the MLB, and they do test many of the players for traces of steroids. Few players are caught each year, but when a big name pops up, the whole debacle headlines newspapers, constantly talked about on sports networks and becomes a huge deal. That big name player that was caught using steroids is then given an agreed sentence of suspended games, sometimes they are even revoked of their chance to be in the exalted MLB Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. The use of steroids and other performance enhancing drugs should be more heavily managed and more severely punished. For years my coaches have told me that baseball is a metaphor for life. This is true in many ways. There are countless activities and goals one can chase after in life, but all of them are based on the person s character. It is critical to make wise decisions, and carry out those decisions well. Making the wrong decisions or poorly executing the right ones will eventually change one s character in a negative manner. It cannot resist any shear force applied to it. Fluids such as Gases liquids in motion are generally referred to as Flow . Flow tells about how fluids behave and how they interact with their surrounding environment. 1.2 Fluid Dynamics: Fluid dynamics is the sub discipline of Fluid Mechanics which in turn the sub discipline of Continuum Mechanics. • 7. Birth Control Effects Effects of Birth Control 11 million women are currently taking birth control orally in the U.S. Studies have shown that 99% of the time birth control helps by preventing any type of unwanted pregnancies. Although, many are unaware of the mental and physical health effects that birth control could have on them. How Birth Control Works During the beginning of each menstrual cycle, the estrogen levels in the women s body starts to increase. Estrogen is hormone ,where once released into the female body it begins to thicken the lining of the uterus in preparation of fertilizing an egg. When the estrogen levels higher even more, the ovaries release an egg. This process is well known as ovulation. After this, the progesterone levels rise. Progesterone is a hormone that thickens the lining of the uterus to prepare for the fertilizing of the egg. During this process, the egg is traveling through the fallopian tubes, trying to get to the uterus. When the egg is fully fertilized and it implants itself within the uterus the pregnancy process begins. If the egg doesn t successfully fertilize or it doesn t attach itself accurately to the uterus, then, there is no chance of pregnancy. As a result, the estrogen and progesterone hormone levels start to decrease and the thickened uterus lining starts to shed. Birth control is a synthetic type of the hormones estrogen and progesterone. Birth control works because it prevents the whole ovulation process. With ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Analysis Of Waterfall And Agile Brief Introduction been applying variety of methods to software developing field. Up to this day, we are still trying to cross the river by feeling the stones. Where is the solution? What is the best method? The fact is that at the professional workplace, both methods are implemented based on clients needs and client s requirements. I will examine the two methods, compare those two methods from variety of aspects. I will compare the methodology to professional work experience and to seek improvements based on the articles I read and personal previous experience. Parallel comparison will be applied throughout the text to provide readers a transparency and more unblemished theoretical understanding from the methodology based on experimental trajectory. Waterfall and Agile Brief Introduction Waterfall method is one of the traditional software developing method that has been implementing for decades. Usually, clients have requests, then software developers create an initial paln; after client approves the plan, developers follow through the plan; at the end, developers test and finish the task. Upon clients additional requests or tests, developers add up the extra features, but in most of the case, it would be too late or too hard to change. The entire process is not very communicative or translucent since clients and developers generally meet just once or twice throughout the project. Your response is most likely something positive such as an innovative, efficient, and renewable step forward into the future. Solar is also thought of to be the best type of energy because the sun will never go away. Well, solar energy will have to battle it out with natural gas and oil in the near future. As the price of oil and natural gas continues to drop, solar energy looks less desirable as other sources become more affordable in the short term (Sanburn 38). Josh Sanburn, author for Time Magazine, does have a relevant point while discussing solar energy s competitors. The handful of solar energy s positives makes it easy for the green thumbed consumers of today to overlook the many negatives. The negatives are very important though when on the topic of something that could possibly determine the future of the whole world s energy productivity. The number one issue with the continuation of solar energy is the price. The main solar energy companies try to sell their panels by repetitively saying that the panels will save money in the long run. Yet solar energy was the most costly energy source for kW/hr in 2015. • 12. The Process Of Deduction Logic In social research, traditional and non traditional methods are used to explore and examine research queries and relate methods of data collection and observation. One conventionally accepted method is through deductive logic. Deductive logic is research that begins with a theory and arrives at a specific expectation through a series of scientific steps. Both explanatory and exploratory techniques can be used in deductive. In contrast, inductive methods, in which researchers examine specific data sets and detect general patterns, are considered non traditional. In inductive logic, the identification of empirical patterns result in a generalization about some social process (Schutt, 2012, p. 45). The process of deduction logic begins with statements, also known as premises , that are assumed to be true. A determination is made regarding additional factors that must be true if the premises are true. A special logical structure, known as modus ponens, is a rule asserting that a hypothetical proposition according to which if the antecedent be affirmed, the consequent is affirmed (Merriam Webster, 2015). The form of any argument having the structure of modus ponens is as follows: Given P, if P then Q, so, Q. Using this structure, any argument is stated as the major premise, the minor premise, and the conclusion. In this way, the statements are evaluated in terms of validity and soundness. The strength of deductive reasoning is its consideration of validity and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ciardi goes on to examine the man talked about in the poem. This division is an important theme in the poem, instantly showing us that the reflection is a highly personal experience for the narrator. The horse in the poem, on the other hand, is the narrator s connection to reality. Ciardi goes so far as to call the horse the foil of the protagonist for disagreeing with his actions demonstrated in the line My little horse must think it queer / To stop without a farmhouse near (CITE). Although it precipitates enough to water the trees, the precipitation is often frozen. Conifers have adapted to their frozen environment by having thin needles with a waxy coating. This reduces the amount of water lost through transpiration. Conifers have a cone structure so the heavy snow can easily slide off. If they did not have this adaption, the branches would break off. I will go to New Zealand and work there and hike everyday, living out of a van with my best friend. I will attend Business school and love it and travel the world while doing so. I will go to Fiji, live on a rural island for four months teaching a class of ten year olds how to do long division. I have been lucky enough that all of the above things I have had to opportunity to do. Well. I am still in the process of business school and I might not say that I loooove it. • 31. How Far Do You Agree That Socialist Realism Was Stalin’s... Stalin had several methods of social control that gave him such a powerful rule in Russia that even today he still has supporters. Socialist Realism was an essential method to create this, although it was not the most important method of social control. Socialist Realism was the second most important method of social control as it was very effective, but not as effective as the Terror. Social Realism allowed Stalin to be portrayed in a positive light but it was also an attempt to use art forms to sell government economic and social policy to the Russian people. Artists were made to abandon their new methods and instead forced to create more traditional pieces of art, such as Roses For Stalin (Boris Vladimirski, 1949). This painting ... In show trials, the aim was not to establish innocence or guilt as the guilt of the non Communists on trial were assumed guilty from the start. This would show the Communists as the only trustworthy party. However, in 1936, Communists were on trial such as Zinoviev and Kamenev. They were charged with the mysterious murder of Kirov, a considered threat to Stalin. Although they pleaded their innocence in jail, they were persuaded to confess. This portrayed Stalin as the only trustworthy member of the Communists and so, he should be leader. Robert Frost Stopping By Essentially Analysis Essay Discoveries a concept subjected to great animosity as its seeds of intuition insists in clashing with some orthodoxy the concrete manifestation of some man s refusal to succumb to authority. We were once told that man would never fly, that the sun would never shine at night; that man would forever be confined to this sphere in which it dwells. But, what we were never told was that we would own no more, know no more, and be no more than the old stone savages if it were not for the rebellious, the disobedient and the intransigent whose polarised experiences have crystallised ones place in society and the broader world, by validating present moral and value systems, through reflection and existential analysis. The silhouette of the figure that is gradually increasing in size is used to represent time as an abstract concept in which the salient figure of the man, under the void s jurisdiction has liberated from life s such irreconcilable differences. Language is the immediate translator of communication. Author Thompson Olusegun Ewata writes in his book Business Communication for Academic and professional Purposes that Language is a vehicle that we use in presenting ideas, thoughts, feelings, opinions to the world (Ewata 2010). In other words, language is how people share with others all of the information they are processing. Science fiction author Philip K. One example, is Lantano s ability to travel back in time. This capability leads to the disruption in historical order simply because of one man s abilities that others do not have. A continual disturbance to the overall well being of the tank people is Stanton Brose s hoarding of artiforgs. These artiforgs are no longer available for people who need them, such as the pancreas that Nicholas has been searching for. After realizing what Brose has done, Adams, Foote, and Lantano plan to kill Brose as a way to free the tank people. This revolt is a prime example of the powerful versus the powerless. However, Adams eventually flees their plan in hopes of securing his own safety. Adams and Nicholas realize how much of an influence the above ground world has on the life of the tank people. Adams says, I never, I just never realized. How completely they accept it, and Nicholas says, All the way, in every emotional level (Dick 228). The influential power, in this case the above ground authority, has control over society without the people even knowing it. It is not until the people are able to differentiate reality and fake information that they can escape the powerful and the spectacle as discussed by social theoriest Guy Debord in his book Society of the Spectacle. • 40. Paradise Lost And Antigone Comparison To educate a man in mind and not in morals is to educate a menace to society. (Roosevelt). Since the beginning of time societies have existed, thriving among mankind. Societies dictate norms and regulations for the people living within them by establishing a status quo. Since the status quo exists, a large majority of people alter their actions and words they do and say to fit the societal norm, the status quo in order to seem normal . As common as a status quo is to societies, so is the reality of a rebel: someone who goes against the status quo, such as Antigone. Societies also have people who overly conform, in turn suffering negative consequences, such as Eve. If a comparison of both works (Antigone and Paradise Lost) are taken, it will remain obvious that Antigone materializes as a stronger, more self independent character who is against the societal norms, whereas Eve lacks enough inner strength and willpower to avoid conforming to the origin of the negativity of social norms. In general, society is not an evil device to have a part in, rather, it is completely normal. If an individual lives in a community, neighborhood, city, town, village, etc., they belong in a society. Societies provide chaos management ; they keep people supposedly in line and provide rules. Rules are not wicked, but sometimes certain rules may go against the morals of a person, making the rules a negative aspect of society. Sectionalism was the excessive regard for one s region of the country more so than for the country as a whole. In the context of the United States this was the regard for either the north or south. This divide came about as a result of differing lifestyles with the south being a more agriculturally driven place whereas the north was industrialized. Also included in this divide was the slavery issue, as the north opposed slavery and the south relied upon it for their survival. The Missouri Compromise heavily impacted this division between north and south as it pitted the two against each other on an issue that was their core difference. On top of this issue the Missouri Compromise also created a line that geographically divided the north and south. The 36 30 parallel was a line that prevented slavery from crossing north, but it was also seen as a line that divided the two ways of life.
