A Brief Review Of Major Collins Running Out Of Music
Constance Squire s Running Out Of Music portrays Major Collins as a minor character, but in reality
his misunderstanding of music and the importance of it plays in Lucinda s development of identity
plays an integral role in the short story through the theme of the unknown importance of music.
Constance Squires uses Major Collins wrongful judging judging of the band Sex Pistols name to show
his stubbornness in accepting the importance of music. At this point in the story, Lucinda and her
father have just entered the army camp dormitory and are going to see Natley. Major Collins
introduces Natley and Lucinda and waits outside. Lucinda asks him to record some songs and it leads
into a conversation. Natley brings up the band Sex Pistols ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The story is coming to an end. At this point Nately has already died and his room is being cleared out.
While this is happening, Major Collins thinks it would be a good idea to give Nately s music to
Lucinda. Major Collins told Lucinda, That reminds me sweetie, I keep forgetting to tell you. Yeah.
When I heard he died, I went over and got these for you. He pointed to behind where Lucinda is
standing. In the far corner of the room, under the windows, sat Nately s crates of records, lined up
against the wall. I didn t try for the turntable it looked like an expensive piece of equipment, so I
thought his folks might want it. But these would have probably just been thrown away, or all the other
GIs would have divided them up. I thought you should have them . (18 19). Nately s crates are In the
far corner of the room , which symbolizes how unconnected Collins is with music. Also, Major
Collins focuses on the price of Nately s items, as he describes the turntable as an expensive piece of
equipment . While on the other hand, Nately s music in Major Collins eye, is perceived as junk. The
music is seen as to Major Collins junk because Collins believes there is no monetary value so he
assumes that, these probably would have been just thrown away . He does not realize the significance
of the music

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Airplanes
Before airplanes were invented, journeys were tiring and extremely time consuming. People would
have to travel for weeks by ship to reach other countries. This became a problem because people were
often tired and frustrated at how inconvenient travelling was. For example, it takes around 11 to 12
hours to travel from London to New York by plane, but if you travel by ship / boat, it takes an average
of 4 to 5 days. It could take two weeks to reach somewhere that took a plane two days to travel.
Exporting goods by boat / ship was extremely expensive; even though there was still a lot of trade,
airplanes have made trade much easier and faster therefore there is much more trade now. Trade is
good because it helps the economy, provides jobs for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is the fastest form of transport and therefore is very useful when time is an important factor. Along
with the quick and efficient service, there are comfortable cushioned seats so longer flights aren t too
difficult. The average occupancy of an aircraft is around 80% greater than other forms of transport.
(Statistics from Air Transport Action Group ATAG)
In terms of the route of travel, there are no physical barriers so it follows the shortest and most direct
route to the intended destination; connecting flights are provided for places like Kochi (in India) that
don t have direct flights. Air transport can also be very easily accessed and can be used to transport
goods to rural areas or places that can t be accessed by any other means of transport. In the case of a
natural disaster e.g. floods or earthquakes, airplanes will still be operating and is the only mode of
transport which can be used for relief work or to provide essential necessities in life. Airplanes are
often used to carry fragile goods that require fast delivery over long distances. They carry goods that
are over 35% value (many are perishable goods). Deliveries from Africa to UK support the livelihoods
of 1.5 million people. (Statistics from Air Transport Action Group

The Disappointment By Aphra Behn
Throughout The Disappointment , Aphra Behn critics the established gender roles in the society
particularly sexually. This can be seen in the relationship between Lisander who is the male figure and
Cloris who is the female one. In this poem, Cloris can be seen as the object of desire while Lisander
can be seen as the sexual object which challenges the pre established roles in society. The first stanza
reveals a side of Lisander that shows that he does not have a complete control on his body. Indeed, the
fact that the author says One day the Amorous Lisander/By an impatient Passion sway d (1 2). The use
of the word sway d shows that the passion drives him and controls him while it should be the opposite.
This situation questions the male identity because Lisander, as a cavalier and a man, should be strong
and show no weaknesses. Furthermore, the end of this stanza reveals that Lisander does need Cloris to
live in this world which shows that she, unconsciously, has power over Lisander because he needs her.
Behn writes that [Lisander] was now descending to the Sea/And left no Light to guide the World/But
what from Cloris brighter Eyes was hurl d (8 10). There is an imagery there which the opposition
between the fact that Lisander has no light and Cloris has bright eyes. It shows that in their
relationship, the woman is needed and plays an important role. It has to be remembered that, back in
the days, women were dependant of men because of their lower social status,

Evaluation of a Social Psychological Theory of Aggression...
Evaluation of a Social Psychological Theory of Aggression
One of the most influential approaches to aggression is the social learning theory approach, put
forward by Albert Bandura. According to this approach, most behaviour including aggressive
behaviour is learned. Albert Bandura believed that aggression is learned through a process called
behaviour modelling. He argued that individuals, especially children learn aggressive responses from
observing others, either personality or through the media and environment. He stated that many
individuals believed that aggression would produce reinforcements. These reinforcements can
formulate into reduction of tension, gaining financial rewards, or gaining ... Show more content on

He believed environmental experiences also had an influence on the social learning of violence in
children. He reported that individuals that lived in high crime rate areas were more likely to act
violently than those who lived in low crime areas. He also believed television was a source of
behaviour modelling. Today films and television shows illustrate violence graphically. Violence is
often expressed as an acceptable behaviour. Since aggression is a prominent feature of many shows,
children who have a high amount of exposure to the media may show a high degree of hostility
themselves in imitation of the aggression they have witnessed.
Bandura carried out a study on aggressive behaviour towards the Bobo doll. In the first stage of the
study, children who had observed an adult model attack a Bobo doll were divided into three groups.
Group 1 went straight into the playroom; Group 2 saw the model being rewarded for their aggression
against the doll, while group 3 saw the adult model punished. In the second stage of the study, after
the children had played with the doll, all the children were offered rewards to behave as the adult
model had done.
The results showed, in the first stage of the, group 3 children showed significantly less aggressive
behaviour towards the dolls than group 1 and 2. In the second stage of the study, there was no
difference between the groups in the

My Time In Morocco
THE END IS NIGH.
Or rather, the end of my time in Morocco is approaching, and I ve got some thoughts about that. But
first, I ll let you know what kind of nonsense I ve been up to lately.
For starters, I ve learned that if my host sister says we re going on a picnic, what she really means is
that we re going to the forest to hike, and there isn t actually any food involved at all. This is an
important lesson that I wish I d learned before I was whisked away to the woods this Sunday morning.
Not to say that I was disappointed. I very much enjoyed the experience, and it was a great opportunity
to spend some time with my host sister before my homestay ended. We had a lovely view of the

lady seemed like she didn t want to cause me any pain. Plus, there were massages, manicures, waxing,

The hammam also provided a much needed opportunity for stress relief, which I desperately needed
after the re entry workshop I had been subjected to the day before. Since this is our final week in
Tangier, we were required to attend the workshop in order to reflect on our experiences and prepare to
re adjust to life in the U.S., i.e. avoiding reverse culture shock. (What is reverse culture shock? This
link will tell you, because I don t feel like doing that.) However, the workshop just turned out to be
another opportunity for me to put up with nonsense. I won t go into any details about what went down
because that doesn t matter, but I ll give my two cents on a couple of points.
First: This is a fully paid opportunity to study abroad, and the program only lasts eight weeks. I
believe that reverse culture shock is real and stressful, but if that s the going to be the biggest problem
I have in my life right now, that s fine by me.

How Did Diana Contribute To The Ancient World
One way Diana contributed to the Ancient world was through women. Diana was the Goddess of
babies and their mothers, and she was invoked by them. Women would pray to her for a child, and
then, once pregnant, they would they pray for an easy delivery. This form of worship is attested in
finds of votives statuettes in her sanctuary in the nemus of Aricinum as well as in Ancient sources
(crystalinks). Diana became the goddess of babies and their mothers by devoting herself never to
marry.
Another way Diana contributed to the Ancient world was by devoting herself to never marry. She was
not the only virgin goddess though. Athena and Hestia are some others. Diana was worshipped in her
temple in Ephesus, and you can even see some of her worship in

Author Jon Bohman Too much of our society is separated from others. We often isolate ourselves from
the lives of those around us. With each little bit of isolation we become a little more dehumanized
each day. Instead of walking around to places we find ourselves using cars to travel, each day
removing ourselves more and more from greeting and contacting new people. We have furthered this
isolation through working in cubicles, and automation through computers and factories. Tv creates
another scenario where we watch fake realities instead of being around other people. Even in a movie
theatre we are isolated because we stare at the big screen instead of holding a true conversation with
someone else. I have nothing against these inventions, the trouble is that they can lead one to focus
more on themselves and less on their fellow man. Selfishness creeps in and pushes aside the desire to
give to others. Instead of improving and uplifting humanity we are working backwards. Now, not
everyone is this way, however if we aren t mindful of our own intentions and actions you may

The Pros And Cons Of Stop And Frrisk Case
On October 31, 1963, a veteran detective of 39 years in downtown Cleveland noticed two men (one
being the petitioner Terry) walking back in forth in front of the same store numerous times each.
When they returned they would talk between each other for a few moments. Then, the men met with a
third man and stood outside suspiciously chatting before the third man left (Terry v. Ohio). The officer
suspected that the men were casing the stores for a stick up or robbery and began to follow the two
men (Oyez). Again, the two men met with the third man around the block in front of another store and
again conversed. That is when the detective approached the three men, announcing himself as a police
officer and asking the names of the men (Terry v. Ohio). The men replied with a low mumble, upon
which the officer grabbed Terry, spun him around and patted him down (ACLU Ohio). Upon patting
down his overcoat, he found a pistol on Terry, and then another pistol on the other man that was
originally with Terry, before patting down and arresting the three men on concealed weapon charges.
This type of stop and frisk technique is now known as the Terry frisk because of this (Argiriou). This
case revolves around whether the stop and frisk by the officer violated the Fourth Amendment rights
of Terry, which provides protection from illegal search and seizures (Oyez). Do the police have the
ability to stop and pat down anyone that they deem suspicious, or do people have more rights to

Mrotek was given the honor of producing the anthem for the Black Magic music festival that took

Descriptive Essay On A Live Concert
About a year ago, my father, my sister, and I, went to go attend a live concert because I had never
viewed one before. Although, both my sister, and father had seen many concerts before me (thank you
my beloved family for leaving me alone with no form of entertainment, every time you left for a
concert). We planned to see the band Blink182, one of my family s favorite punk rock bands, in
Maine. There are three main parts to this wonderful journey, it begins with the drive, then the actual
concert, and finally the drive back, which were all equally entertaining (in my opinion). It was an
outdoor concert, but I would have preferred an indoor concert because functioning bathrooms are
really important to me, but I did not complain. My sister and I anticipated the day we would leave to
see the wonderful Maine we had heard so much about from our father. All we had to do, was wait. The
day arrived sooner than expected, and my father booked us a flight to Boston, Massachusetts. Prior to
our departure, I had always thought that Boston was located in Maine (I do not know anything about
geography), but I soon learned it was not, thanks to my father, and sister constantly making fun of my
poor geography skills. We then left on September 3rd, for an airport in Boston. My father had to drive
us the rest of the way up to Maine, from the airport (and boy, was that an adventure). We took a detour
on the way up, and stopped at a recommended place from my father, called Newbury Comics. Being

Harmful Effects Of Bisphenol A
For my science fair project, I choose to test the effects of Bisphenol A (BPA) on plants after learning
that BPA has been removed from many plastics due to the harmful hazards of this chemical. Does BPA
effect plants? Specifically, I will be testing to see if different amounts of BPA given to plants will have
an impact on plant grown and plant life span. Bisphenol A or BPA is produced worldwide in large
amounts and is found in many of our everyday items. In 2002, approximately 2.8 million pounds of

Abraham s Sacrifice Of Isaac
Giovanni Battista Gaulli, also known as II Baciccio, painted Abraham s Sacrifice of Isaac in ca. 1700.
He used oil on a canvas that is 63 ¼ by 51 5/8, so it is fairly large, and most likely a piece for public
viewing. Using a simple palette of brown, blue, green, white, gold, and red, Baciccio depicts the
biblical story of Abraham and Isaac. This representation shows Abraham standing over the restricted
Isaac, who appears to be content with being sacrificed. Unlike Isaac, the emotional Abraham holds the
knife stretched from his side towards an unknown voice, and is captured in the moment of his
realization that the voice belonged to an angel of the lord. The graceful being floats down from the
upper left of the canvas dressed in all white. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Baciccio wanted the story he represented to be easily recognized, so he made the angel wear white
robes, and display a large set of wings. Abraham appears to be the eldest looking of the group with his
beard, wrinkles and is the one who wears the only true red shown on the canvas. In contrast, Isaac s
boyish appearance is presented in the nude. Along with these distinguishing characteristics, Baciccio
uses color, and linear perspective to tell this story. He separates the canvas with a background of
mountains and trees, a midground of people watching the sky in an open field, and a foreground of his
main subject. The focal point becomes the hand Abraham is using to hold the knife. The orthogonals
of the altarpiece, mountains in the background, and decent of the angel all point to this location. The
excellent details around the hand when contrasted by the natural blurring of the cloudy background
draw the eye. Baciccio also uses trees to circle the important trio, and tell the audience that they are
the ones who need the attention. Little glances of the landscape can be seen behind them, but for the
most part these three figures take up the majority of the canvas. Baciccio wanted to make it easy for
the viewer to recognize the story immediately, but those who constantly stare at every leaf, pebble,
hair, and brushstroke get the real pleasure of knowing the true story, he story of how the

Bandari Dance In Persian Culture
The Persian culture, one of the most prominent cultures in the world, has gone through many phases

Colive . The promotion included a free coupon to try the spread.
Wheel of Retailing Wheels of retailing is a hypothesis of M.P.McNair that explains the patterns of
change in retailing. It is new types of retailers who cut prices by lowering or eliminating customer
services, once established, the retailer increases prices and customer services. During this process the
retailer becomes vulnerable to the next low priced retailer.
Types of Wholesalers The U.S. Bureau of the Census defines wholesalers as: The activities of those
persons or establishments which sell to retailers and other merchants, and or to industrial, institutional,
and commercial users, but who do not sell in large amounts to final consumers. It is important for
marketing managers to understand the role of the wholesaler. There are ten types of wholesalers. The
merchant wholesaler owns the products he or she is selling. The general merchandise wholesalers are

Antoine Griezmann Research Paper
Being only five feet nine inches hasn t stopped Frenchman, Antoine Griezmann, from being one of the
best football (soccer) players in the world. The person that will be discussed in this essay is Antoine
Griezmann. Born in Macon, France, Antoine Griezmann is a world renowned football player on
Atletico Madrid and the French National Team, who are both widely known for their skill and
competitiveness. Being rejected from many football clubs and perseverance is what shaped Griezmann
into the person he is today. To Griezmann touch and technique are prevailing mantras (Everything).
This essay will explain why Antoine Griezmann likes to use the Spanish style of play even though he
is French.
Antoine Griezmann has scored one hundred twenty one goals in his overall career as a football player
(Antoine). Being five feet nine and being light weighted prevented him from being on teams like Lyon
because they were looking for strong and tall players (Story). Basing his game on David Silva and
David Beckham, he focuses on lightness of touch that is both elegant and nifty (Everything). He has
mixed Spanish and French skills, but is in favor of a Spanish style more because he went to a Spanish
football academy as a teenager (Everything). He inspires many people around the world to mix up ...

He was rejected from many football teams, but still had the perseverance to get better. The question I
had wanted to know was answered, but it changed many times when I found more information on how
he played with Spanish and French skills rather than just one certain type of play. I really want to
know more about what Griezmann is like as a person. From what I read he seems like a decent and
good person, but I want to know more about his personality. I will continue to watch him play and
prosper as a striker and a person. He is really dedicated to the game and that is what I am inspired to

Supply Chain and Bergerac
Bergerac Systems: The Challenge of Backward Integration
Abstract
Veterinary expenditure has been on an increasing trend due to the increase in pet ownership in the
United States. Bergerac is a company producing equipments used for testing pet patients in the
veterinarian clinics. Omnivue is one of the most successful equipments produced by the company,
which is priced at a competitive rate to attract lower and middle sized veterinarians. The production of
Omnivue involves the use of plastics and chemical reagents supplied by two major suppliers,
GenieTech and Elsinore. The management of Bergerac is planning to take control over its suppliers to
reduce the production fluctuation and overhead costs of the firm. There are three strategic ... Show

Hence, manufacturing department should not interfere in the distribution department, and the latter
should be experienced in distribution of products like Omnivue to the end customers.
Strategic Alternative 2 Backward Integration
Backward integration is a type of vertical integration in which a company takes control over its
suppliers. It is a form of acquisition of the intermediary players involved in supplying the raw
materials used in the production process of the firm. Raw materials, intermediate manufacturing and
assembly are controlled by the firm whereas distribution to the end customer is done by a third party
company. In this way, company increases production efficiency and gains a competitive advantage by
lowering its production cost.
Bergerac can opt for the buy option and implement its backward integration by acquiring GenieTech.
GenieTech can provide the company with eight efficient molding machines for the acquisition price of
$ 5.75 million. The price includes experienced labor force and management. Bergerac can fulfill its
chemical reagent demand by using 4 out of 8 moulds provided in the acquisition. Rest of the presses
can be used in the expansion process or can be used to meet the demand of a third party. This
investment can result in the reduction of overhead expenses by twenty six percent per unit. Bergerac
can pay the amount over a period of five years making the project

The Framingham Heart Study
Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the most common cause of mortality worldwide, especially in
developed countries. But they are also largely preventable, and many studies have tried to clarify the
related risk factors, and what could be done to avoid them.
The Framingham Heart Study was the first longitudinal cohort study to try to elucidate the etiology
and determinants of CVDs, and it s currently the longest running medical study in the world,
celebrating it s 68 years in 2016. It is in it s third generation now (grandchildren of the original
cohort), and although it s population is mainly of white European descent, the results were
fundamental in understanding the risk factors of CVDs. We recognize the need to know if the results
of this study, and its risk estimation module, could be applied to the Lebanese population, since no
major comparison study was done before in our country. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Reflection On Group Discussion During Micro Teaching Session
Appendix 2 Reflection on Group Discussion during Micro Teaching Session
Reflection
I wished to simply try Brookfield and Preskill s concepts of group discussion, to see what I could tease
out from 10 minute Micro Teaching Session about Communicating with people with Autism Spectrum
Conditions . It was a task which had limitations but also great results as it led to me to distinctly
recognise what actions I needed to take when I embark on the next opportunity to use discussion in a
classroom. It was the ultimate learning curve in the research as I returned to make changes to the
poster and essay having completed the sampling of discussion. Most significantly, I began to
appreciate the role of Brookfield s Democratic Dispositions in holding discussion groups. This process
is a true reflection of Einstein s belief that in theory, theory and practice are the same. In ... Show more

I remember being consciously aware of one disposition; appreciation. This was when the class first
started talking and participating. After that I went into overdrive and guided the discussion along, the
very thing I had wished not to do. Initially disappointed, I had not looked carefully enough at my
practice, I thought I had abandoned the nine dispositions, but later I began to note that other
dispositions were in fact in play. I was simply not paying attention, being mindful. I had externalised
the demonstration of the dispositions as if they going to be flagged by my conscience and lost the
awareness of how I had in fact demonstrated autonomy, humility and hopefulness through my actions.
Dispositions that were less prevalent were the ones that would help me slow down, talk less and infuse
synthesis into the lesson. Deliberation, mutuality and mindfulness are the habits in which I will pay

Conformity and Obedience Essays
Conformity and Obedience Why do we conform? Two basic sources of influence: normative social
influence, the need to be liked, accepted by others and Informational influence: need to be correct and
to behave in accordance with reality. Solomon Asch (1956) devised an experiment to see if subjects
would conform even if they were uncertain that the group norm was incorrect. In his study he asked
subjects to take part in an experiment. They were each asked to match a standard length line with three
other lines. He found that one of the situational factors of conformity is the size of the opposing
majority. In a series of studies he varied the number of confederates that gave correct answers from 1
15. He found that subjects conformed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moscovici found that consistency in the minority was important in winning over the majority with
respect to the colour of the slides. Not all decisions are made from a majority influence. For example,
the suffragettes started a movement in 1920 which changed the public and private opinion allowing
women to have the right to vote in western society. As long as a minority stick by four basic rules then
they stand a good chance of succeeding in their campaign. They need to be Consistent in their views,
Flexible not too rigid in their views, Committed to the cause until it s heard and Relevant, they have
more chance of being influential if their views are in line with social trends. Another experiment that
psychologists use in respect of conformity and obedience is an experiment that was carried out by a
psychologist named Stanley Milgram. He recruited 40 male participants by advertising for volunteers
to take part in a study to see how punishment affects learning. The study was to take place at Yale
University and everyone would be paid the same rate of $4.50 and they were informed that they would
still get paid if they quit during the study. There were two confederates one an experimenter and the
other a learner. The participants were always the teacher. The teacher was placed with the psychologist
in one room and the learner in

High Level Writing Is Vital For My Current Standings As A...
Higher level writing is vital for my current standings as a college student and my future endeavors. In
order to receive positive responses on any papers or discussions, I must be able to properly write on a
college level. I have continuously worked on my writing skills throughout English 101 and 102 and
hope the skills I have gained in these courses will prepare me to write on an intellectual level. Looking
back at previous discussion posts, assignments, papers, and feedback from peers and my instructor, I
have achieved a large amount of insight to higher level writing. This past semester I was required to
create four major papers including Rhetorical Analysis Essay, Annotated Bibliography, Exploratory
Essay, and the Researched Position Paper. Each of these papers entailed vigorous research and time.
My writing has progressively improved throughout the semester in quoting, summarizing, and
paraphrasing source material, as well as choosing academic appropriate sources; however, I must
strive to improve in general writing skills covering organization, style, diction, grammar, and
mechanics.
I felt that I did well on the third course objective of synthesizing ethically summarized, paraphrased,
and quoted source material into academic arguments. Typically, I used quotes strongly along with
information throughout my papers from numerous academic level sources. In my Researched Position
Paper Final, I quoted two sentences from Jeffrey Lieberman s article, How to Halt the

New York City
New York City is a magnificent place. The city contains hundreds of tall skyscrapers, many interesting
people, and plenty of entertaining activities. It is also one of the liveliest, and most compact places in
the world and has been nicknamed The City That Never Sleeps. It has a rich history and diversity.
There are people from all different cultures and backgrounds. My family decided to go on a vacation
to see this amazing city. We decided that we were going to go and see landmarks, eat new foods, and
watch a play on Broadway. This memoir is about my trip to the Big Apple. I woke up early in the
morning to the loud sounds of luggage being dragged against the hardwood floor downstairs. I quickly
remembered with exhilaration that today was the day we were leaving for New York! My family had
been waiting for this day all summer. I jumped out of bed and brought all of my stuff to the car. After
we jammed all of our suitcases into the car we began our eight hour drive. I slept for most of the drive
as we traveled north. Eventually, we got to Manhattan. I was ready to finally get out of the car and
stretch my legs. We found a parking garage and dropped off our car. Then we checked into the hotel.
We had to climb 26 floors of stairs to get to our hotel room! Quickly we dropped of our stuff in the
room and rushed out to explore the amazing city. First we walked around Times Square and marveled
at the beautiful skyscrapers and all the interesting people. People were in the

Professional Review Quotes About Music Are Mixed And Tell...
*professional review quotes about music are mixed and tell about how they are talking about music,
more details. My group and I decided to review the movie Rent. Rent was released in 2005. The film,
also a musical, was an adaptation of a broadway stage play. It follows the lives of several characters in
the late 1980s and into the early 1990s. The film covers the topics of many horrible things that were
affecting the lives of many people back in that time era. The topics include poverty, HIV/AIDS, and
discrimination of same sex couples. The main characters are: Mark Cohen, who is filming the life of
all of the characters and an up and coming filmmaker; Mimi Marquez, a drug addict and stripper, who
is also HIV positive; Roger Davis, a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They told me of the emotions that the characters were feeling. I also beginning to see how each person
had a different storyline, yet it was the same storyline. This was what cause the characters to come
together effortlessly and create my favorite musical. Based on my feelings towards the film. I
expected the popular reviews to discuss the music and the controversial topics. I expected the same
from the film critics and academic writers; however, I felt that the academic writers would be more
detailed and opinionated in their discussion. The popular reviews tend to focus on the music, the issue
of AIDS, and the setting. They praise the director and producer for keeping the true feel and realistic
quality of a New York City project. They also dote on the characters and their singing abilities.
However, I tend to find more praise going towards Rosario Dawson, who played Mimi. One viewer
states, Rosario Dawson s portrayal as Mimi was phenomenal. Her Out Tonight dancing, however, is
hot and floored every male in the room (Popular Review #2). Another viewer says, Her (Rosario
Dawson) singing of Without You is sure to bring the house down in tears. If there s any wisdom left in
the bunch, watch to see her rewarded by the Academy come award nomination time (Popular Review
#3). While Popular Reviewer gloats, Dawson is strikingly beautiful and captures Mimi s desperate
energy perfectly. With

Skin Rejuvenate Skin Research Paper
Treatments that rejuvenate the skin
Skin resurfacing improves the rejuvenation of the skin by stimulating fibroblasts, the cells that are
responsible for the production of collagen that gives the skin its youthfulness and elasticity. As the
time passes, smoking, age and exposure to sun cause the breaking down of collagen which is why
saggy skin and fine wrinkles may appear. Differences in pigment and texture are also the consequence
of age, acne and sun damage. The treatments such as dermabrasion and laser treatments may help this
process and help even in facial scar removal.
Dermabrasion:
Dermabrasion is a treatment that the abrasive particles are used for facial scar removal, to remove

Optical Detection Of Laser Radar Essay
Imaging radar is used to create a two dimensional image typically of landscapes. An imaging radar
create a picture of the observed object or area. Imaging radars have been used for mapping of the earth
and other celestial objects and to categorize targets for military systems.
Non imaging radar take measurements in one dimension, as opposite to the two dimensional
measurement of imaging sensors. Common application of a non imaging Radar system are speed
gauges and radar altimeters. Non imaging radar measure the scattering properties of the object or
region being observed.
A Primary Radar transmits a high frequency signal toward the target. The transmitted pulse is reflected
by the target and then received by the same radar. The reflected energy or the echoes are further
processed to extract the target information.
Pulsed radar transmits a high power, high frequency pulse toward the target. Then it waits for the echo
of the transmitted signal for some time before it transmits a new pulse depending upon the pulse
repetition frequency. The Pulse Repetition Frequency (PRF) of the radar system is the number of
pulses that are transmitted per second.
Radar systems radiate each of the pulse at the carrier frequency during transmit time (or Pulse Width)
and wait for the returning echoes during listening or rest time, and then radiate the next pulse. The
time between the beginning of one pulse and the start of the next pulse is called pulse repetition time
(PRT) and is equal

Essay Monotheism vs. Polytheism
Monotheism and polytheism are two very different belief systems. Monotheism is the belief in one
god and polytheism is the belief in more one than one god. The concept of morality can and does exist
within cultures that have only one god, as well as cultures that have multiple gods. Without morality,
the world would be a place of extreme chaos and pandemonium. However, the foundation for morality
within polytheistic religions is quite contradictory to the foundation for morality with monotheistic
religions. Morality within polytheism is somewhat inconsistent and relative; whereas in monotheism,
morality becomes more consistent and absolute. Morality exists throughout all cultures and religions
of the world in some shape or form. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the foundations for morality in polytheism and monotheism are quite different.
In polytheism the foundation for morality seems inconsistent and relative. Polytheistic religions have
no ultimate reality or god to set a standard for morality that all the followers must obey. Instead, each
of the many gods could have their own set of standards for morality. The inconsistency of morality
could theoretically lead one to be faced with the dilemma of which god is correct. Let s suppose one is
having an extramarital affair and is not sure if she should continue the affair or stop. Should she pray
to the goddess of lust and passion, to the god that is all knowing or to the god of family and
relationship? Not only does the inconsistency of morality standards cause followers to be faced with
choosing which gods to embrace, but also cause them to be faced which god is appropriate to pray for
moral guidance on different subjects. The notion that each of the multiple gods can set their standards
for morality, allows for the follower to circumstantially pick and choose which god to follow. It is
possible for a follower to be circumstantially selective because they do not have to answer to one
specific god. One can choose to follow a certain god because that particular god s set of morals allows
them to fulfill some desire or need that would otherwise not fulfilled under other

  • 2. A Brief Review Of Major Collins Running Out Of Music Constance Squire s Running Out Of Music portrays Major Collins as a minor character, but in reality his misunderstanding of music and the importance of it plays in Lucinda s development of identity plays an integral role in the short story through the theme of the unknown importance of music. Constance Squires uses Major Collins wrongful judging judging of the band Sex Pistols name to show his stubbornness in accepting the importance of music. At this point in the story, Lucinda and her father have just entered the army camp dormitory and are going to see Natley. Major Collins introduces Natley and Lucinda and waits outside. Lucinda asks him to record some songs and it leads into a conversation. Natley brings up the band Sex Pistols ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The story is coming to an end. At this point Nately has already died and his room is being cleared out. While this is happening, Major Collins thinks it would be a good idea to give Nately s music to Lucinda. Major Collins told Lucinda, That reminds me sweetie, I keep forgetting to tell you. Yeah. When I heard he died, I went over and got these for you. He pointed to behind where Lucinda is standing. In the far corner of the room, under the windows, sat Nately s crates of records, lined up against the wall. I didn t try for the turntable it looked like an expensive piece of equipment, so I thought his folks might want it. But these would have probably just been thrown away, or all the other GIs would have divided them up. I thought you should have them . (18 19). Nately s crates are In the far corner of the room , which symbolizes how unconnected Collins is with music. Also, Major Collins focuses on the price of Nately s items, as he describes the turntable as an expensive piece of equipment . While on the other hand, Nately s music in Major Collins eye, is perceived as junk. The music is seen as to Major Collins junk because Collins believes there is no monetary value so he assumes that, these probably would have been just thrown away . He does not realize the significance of the music ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Airplanes Before airplanes were invented, journeys were tiring and extremely time consuming. People would have to travel for weeks by ship to reach other countries. This became a problem because people were often tired and frustrated at how inconvenient travelling was. For example, it takes around 11 to 12 hours to travel from London to New York by plane, but if you travel by ship / boat, it takes an average of 4 to 5 days. It could take two weeks to reach somewhere that took a plane two days to travel. Exporting goods by boat / ship was extremely expensive; even though there was still a lot of trade, airplanes have made trade much easier and faster therefore there is much more trade now. • 4. The Disappointment By Aphra Behn Throughout The Disappointment , Aphra Behn critics the established gender roles in the society particularly sexually. This can be seen in the relationship between Lisander who is the male figure and Cloris who is the female one. In this poem, Cloris can be seen as the object of desire while Lisander can be seen as the sexual object which challenges the pre established roles in society. The first stanza reveals a side of Lisander that shows that he does not have a complete control on his body. Indeed, the fact that the author says One day the Amorous Lisander/By an impatient Passion sway d (1 2). The use of the word sway d shows that the passion drives him and controls him while it should be the opposite. This situation questions the male identity because Lisander, as a cavalier and a man, should be strong and show no weaknesses. Furthermore, the end of this stanza reveals that Lisander does need Cloris to live in this world which shows that she, unconsciously, has power over Lisander because he needs her. Behn writes that [Lisander] was now descending to the Sea/And left no Light to guide the World/But what from Cloris brighter Eyes was hurl d (8 10). There is an imagery there which the opposition between the fact that Lisander has no light and Cloris has bright eyes. It shows that in their relationship, the woman is needed and plays an important role. It has to be remembered that, back in the days, women were dependant of men because of their lower social status, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Evaluation of a Social Psychological Theory of Aggression... Evaluation of a Social Psychological Theory of Aggression One of the most influential approaches to aggression is the social learning theory approach, put forward by Albert Bandura. According to this approach, most behaviour including aggressive behaviour is learned. Albert Bandura believed that aggression is learned through a process called behaviour modelling. He argued that individuals, especially children learn aggressive responses from observing others, either personality or through the media and environment. He stated that many individuals believed that aggression would produce reinforcements. These reinforcements can formulate into reduction of tension, gaining financial rewards, or gaining ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He believed environmental experiences also had an influence on the social learning of violence in children. He reported that individuals that lived in high crime rate areas were more likely to act violently than those who lived in low crime areas. He also believed television was a source of behaviour modelling. Today films and television shows illustrate violence graphically. Violence is often expressed as an acceptable behaviour. Since aggression is a prominent feature of many shows, children who have a high amount of exposure to the media may show a high degree of hostility themselves in imitation of the aggression they have witnessed. Bandura carried out a study on aggressive behaviour towards the Bobo doll. In the first stage of the study, children who had observed an adult model attack a Bobo doll were divided into three groups. Group 1 went straight into the playroom; Group 2 saw the model being rewarded for their aggression against the doll, while group 3 saw the adult model punished. In the second stage of the study, after the children had played with the doll, all the children were offered rewards to behave as the adult model had done. The results showed, in the first stage of the, group 3 children showed significantly less aggressive behaviour towards the dolls than group 1 and 2. This is an important lesson that I wish I d learned before I was whisked away to the woods this Sunday morning. Not to say that I was disappointed. • 8. How Did Diana Contribute To The Ancient World One way Diana contributed to the Ancient world was through women. Diana was the Goddess of babies and their mothers, and she was invoked by them. Women would pray to her for a child, and then, once pregnant, they would they pray for an easy delivery. This form of worship is attested in finds of votives statuettes in her sanctuary in the nemus of Aricinum as well as in Ancient sources (crystalinks). Diana became the goddess of babies and their mothers by devoting herself never to marry. Another way Diana contributed to the Ancient world was by devoting herself to never marry. We often isolate ourselves from the lives of those around us. With each little bit of isolation we become a little more dehumanized each day. Instead of walking around to places we find ourselves using cars to travel, each day removing ourselves more and more from greeting and contacting new people. We have furthered this isolation through working in cubicles, and automation through computers and factories. Tv creates another scenario where we watch fake realities instead of being around other people. Even in a movie theatre we are isolated because we stare at the big screen instead of holding a true conversation with someone else. I have nothing against these inventions, the trouble is that they can lead one to focus more on themselves and less on their fellow man. Selfishness creeps in and pushes aside the desire to give to others. Instead of improving and uplifting humanity we are working backwards. Now, not everyone is this way, however if we aren t mindful of our own intentions and actions you may ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. The Pros And Cons Of Stop And Frrisk Case On October 31, 1963, a veteran detective of 39 years in downtown Cleveland noticed two men (one being the petitioner Terry) walking back in forth in front of the same store numerous times each. When they returned they would talk between each other for a few moments. Then, the men met with a third man and stood outside suspiciously chatting before the third man left (Terry v. Ohio). The officer suspected that the men were casing the stores for a stick up or robbery and began to follow the two men (Oyez). Again, the two men met with the third man around the block in front of another store and again conversed. That is when the detective approached the three men, announcing himself as a police officer and asking the names of the men (Terry v. Ohio). The men replied with a low mumble, upon which the officer grabbed Terry, spun him around and patted him down (ACLU Ohio). Upon patting down his overcoat, he found a pistol on Terry, and then another pistol on the other man that was originally with Terry, before patting down and arresting the three men on concealed weapon charges. This type of stop and frisk technique is now known as the Terry frisk because of this (Argiriou). This case revolves around whether the stop and frisk by the officer violated the Fourth Amendment rights of Terry, which provides protection from illegal search and seizures (Oyez). • 13. Descriptive Essay On A Live Concert About a year ago, my father, my sister, and I, went to go attend a live concert because I had never viewed one before. Although, both my sister, and father had seen many concerts before me (thank you my beloved family for leaving me alone with no form of entertainment, every time you left for a concert). We planned to see the band Blink182, one of my family s favorite punk rock bands, in Maine. There are three main parts to this wonderful journey, it begins with the drive, then the actual concert, and finally the drive back, which were all equally entertaining (in my opinion). It was an outdoor concert, but I would have preferred an indoor concert because functioning bathrooms are really important to me, but I did not complain. My sister and I anticipated the day we would leave to see the wonderful Maine we had heard so much about from our father. All we had to do, was wait. The day arrived sooner than expected, and my father booked us a flight to Boston, Massachusetts. Prior to our departure, I had always thought that Boston was located in Maine (I do not know anything about geography), but I soon learned it was not, thanks to my father, and sister constantly making fun of my poor geography skills. We then left on September 3rd, for an airport in Boston. My father had to drive us the rest of the way up to Maine, from the airport (and boy, was that an adventure). We took a detour on the way up, and stopped at a recommended place from my father, called Newbury Comics. Being ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He used oil on a canvas that is 63 ¼ by 51 5/8, so it is fairly large, and most likely a piece for public viewing. Using a simple palette of brown, blue, green, white, gold, and red, Baciccio depicts the biblical story of Abraham and Isaac. This representation shows Abraham standing over the restricted Isaac, who appears to be content with being sacrificed. Unlike Isaac, the emotional Abraham holds the knife stretched from his side towards an unknown voice, and is captured in the moment of his realization that the voice belonged to an angel of the lord. The graceful being floats down from the upper left of the canvas dressed in all white. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Baciccio wanted the story he represented to be easily recognized, so he made the angel wear white robes, and display a large set of wings. Abraham appears to be the eldest looking of the group with his beard, wrinkles and is the one who wears the only true red shown on the canvas. In contrast, Isaac s boyish appearance is presented in the nude. Along with these distinguishing characteristics, Baciccio uses color, and linear perspective to tell this story. He separates the canvas with a background of mountains and trees, a midground of people watching the sky in an open field, and a foreground of his main subject. The focal point becomes the hand Abraham is using to hold the knife. The orthogonals of the altarpiece, mountains in the background, and decent of the angel all point to this location. The excellent details around the hand when contrasted by the natural blurring of the cloudy background draw the eye. Baciccio also uses trees to circle the important trio, and tell the audience that they are the ones who need the attention. Little glances of the landscape can be seen behind them, but for the most part these three figures take up the majority of the canvas. Baciccio wanted to make it easy for the viewer to recognize the story immediately, but those who constantly stare at every leaf, pebble, hair, and brushstroke get the real pleasure of knowing the true story, he story of how the ... Two basic sources of influence: normative social influence, the need to be liked, accepted by others and Informational influence: need to be correct and to behave in accordance with reality. Solomon Asch (1956) devised an experiment to see if subjects would conform even if they were uncertain that the group norm was incorrect. In his study he asked subjects to take part in an experiment. They were each asked to match a standard length line with three other lines. He found that one of the situational factors of conformity is the size of the opposing majority. As long as a minority stick by four basic rules then they stand a good chance of succeeding in their campaign. They need to be Consistent in their views, Flexible not too rigid in their views, Committed to the cause until it s heard and Relevant, they have more chance of being influential if their views are in line with social trends. Imaging radars have been used for mapping of the earth and other celestial objects and to categorize targets for military systems. Non imaging radar take measurements in one dimension, as opposite to the two dimensional measurement of imaging sensors. Common application of a non imaging Radar system are speed gauges and radar altimeters. Non imaging radar measure the scattering properties of the object or region being observed. A Primary Radar transmits a high frequency signal toward the target. The transmitted pulse is reflected by the target and then received by the same radar. The reflected energy or the echoes are further processed to extract the target information. Pulsed radar transmits a high power, high frequency pulse toward the target. Then it waits for the echo of the transmitted signal for some time before it transmits a new pulse depending upon the pulse repetition frequency. The Pulse Repetition Frequency (PRF) of the radar system is the number of pulses that are transmitted per second. Radar systems radiate each of the pulse at the carrier frequency during transmit time (or Pulse Width) and wait for the returning echoes during listening or rest time, and then radiate the next pulse. However, the foundations for morality in polytheism and monotheism are quite different. In polytheism the foundation for morality seems inconsistent and relative. Polytheistic religions have no ultimate reality or god to set a standard for morality that all the followers must obey. Instead, each of the many gods could have their own set of standards for morality. The inconsistency of morality could theoretically lead one to be faced with the dilemma of which god is correct. Let s suppose one is having an extramarital affair and is not sure if she should continue the affair or stop. Should she pray to the goddess of lust and passion, to the god that is all knowing or to the god of family and relationship? Not only does the inconsistency of morality standards cause followers to be faced with choosing which gods to embrace, but also cause them to be faced which god is appropriate to pray for moral guidance on different subjects. The notion that each of the multiple gods can set their standards for morality, allows for the follower to circumstantially pick and choose which god to follow. It is possible for a follower to be circumstantially selective because they do not have to answer to one specific god.
