EVALUATION QUESTION FIVE
How did I attract my target audience?
HOUSE STYLE
My house style is black, white, bright blue and yellow. I also use red to attract
the reader’s attention to certain parts of my magazine occasionally. These
colours attract my target audience of either gender 14-28 year olds because
they are very bright, the colours aren’t gendered (I haven’t used any bright
pinks or dark blues) and the colours work together well. They suit the people
who would be interested in this genre of music because they are bright and fill
the page with colour to suit the “fast-paced” lifestyle that they live.
IMAGES
My images attract my target audience because they show a girl who is the
“typical image” of what girls who listen to the music would look like. This means
that they can then look up to her as a role model. All of my images show
people of male and female in places of success and this gives them someone
to look up to and to find out about how they reached that point of the
success. Zoey’s facial expressions and body language shows that she has a lot
of attitude and confidence which portrays the rock genre, this would attract
my target audience as they can look up to her as a rock symbol. By having a
photo of a band performing a gig, it attracts my target audience because
they are typically people who are interested in gigs and go to a lot.
COVER LINES
My cover lines attract my target audience because my target audience
would be interested in gigs, festivals, new albums and other news about
bands. So on my front cover I have included information about festivals and
competitions to win VIP tickets for gigs as this is what would interest them into
buying it. My sell lines inform the readers of what will be in the magazine, I
have made the band names bigger and in a different colour so that the band
names stand out more than the rest of it, so my audience will notice the band
names first and that will attract them into buying the magazine. I have also
written the cover lines about bands that are famous Pop Punk bands so it
would attract more people because they are more popular so will have more
fans that would want to read about them.
LANGUAGE AND TYPOGRAPHY
The language I have used throughout my magazine attracts my target
audience because they would be of working class so the language is
sophisticated but still easy to read and understand so the audience won’t feel
like the language is too advanced or too simple so this will attract them to it.
The things I have written about are informative, yet they are still interesting for
the young age group so they will still be interested in the topic. I have used
personal pronouns such as “you” and “we” so that the audience will feel
involved in the magazine and they will feel like they are a part of it so that will
attract them to it.

LANGUAGE AND TYPOGRAPHY The language I have used throughout my magazine attracts my target audience because they would be of working class so the language is sophisticated but still easy to read and understand so the audience won’t feel like the language is too advanced or too simple so this will attract them to it. The things I have written about are informative, yet they are still interesting for the young age group so they will still be interested in the topic. I have used personal pronouns such as “you” and “we” so that the audience will feel involved in the magazine and they will feel like they are a part of it so that will attract them to it.
