To start I had to do the researchwhichmeanthavingtofindout whatpeople likeaboutrockmusic
and whatsort of people are partof the audience.Todo thisI useda lot of internetresearchandto
do thisI had to have accessto a computer,I lookedupold survey anddifferenttypesof second
researchto fill inthe gaps.I had todo my ownresearchas well togeta more accurate picture of
whommy audience willbe,sotodo thisI dida one on one interview.ForthisIhad to use a camera
that had a microphone ontorecord the soundand picture.ThenIdida focusgroupto get a more
groupeffortand a largerpicture of what people likeandwhattheybuy.Thiswasveryhelpful forthe
promotionof the artistthat I had to do lateron.WhenI had writtenupmy resultstheywere put
upona worddocumentanduploadedtoSlideshare sotheyfittedbetterontomyblog. Forthe
videosthatI hadmade theywere putonmovie studioplatinumforediting,simplecutsandtitles
were appliedandthentheywere place onthe blog.OtherthingsthatIdid formy researchwas
watchingmusicvideostounderstandhow theywere done andwhatare the commonthingsinmy

The planningstage of my musicvideoandalbum, wasfindoutwhattype of musicvideoIwas to do.
I made a fewthemesandstoriesthatI was happywiththenIpitcheditto the class to gettheir
opinions,thiswasfilmedand recorded. The presentationthatImade was done ona Microsoft
PowerPoint,thisisbecause Ifounditeasyto use and to putmy drawingsonmy ideason.The
drawingthat I made were all done onMicrosoftPaintas it wasquick,simple andverygoodfor
gettingthe ideaacross.For the music,I had chosenDon’tsitdowncause’I’ve moved yourchairby
Arctic Monkeysandto getin ontothe computerIbroughtmy Arctic MonkeysCD infor the songto
be burn ontothe computer.Butthisdidnot workas there was copy rightprotectionsstoppingme
fromdoingso. Inthe endI hadto use a MP3 convertertogetthe song,thisdidmeanthat the audio
wouldnotbe as good.
Nextisthe constructionof the video.Thisinvolvedalotof work andtime to complete withhundreds
of differenttypesedits,transitions,cutsandlayer. The mainprocessorthat I usedwasthe Movie
studioplatinumasitwas the one that the school providedtome. The videowasfilmedonacannon
camera anda Gopro.The inside shotswiththe poker game wasall shoton a cannonto provide the
grittiestlookthatI could.The Gopro wouldnot have givenme the rightframingthatI would have
likedsothatwas onlyusedforthe endof the film. Forthe lightingforthe inside pokergame Ihadno
properfilminglightssoIgota service lightandputDuckTape overthe top to dimthe light,thisgave
the room a gloomyfeel andwasgoodfor the filming.The lightwasconstantlyturnedtoshow the
characters face and the table. The tripodwasusedas a tripodthe steadythe cameraand to getthe

creatingthere wasa lot of work to do.There were manydifferenttypesof filterandgraphiceffects
that I used,firstof whichas the editspeedasmanyof the shotsare inslow motiontofitwiththe
song.Thisslowmotionisusedthroughoutthe videowasitkeepsthe consistencywiththe pace of
the song,also a fewpartsof the videoare intime lapsmakinga good contrast.Thisis all done
throughthe propertiesof the videocliponMovie StudioPlatinum. Halfwaythroughthe videothereI
put a screenshake toget the sense of lossandfear,as the maincharacter hadjust lostall of his
money.Thiswasthenfollowedby awell-timedwipe asasuitcase isbrought upwiththe nextshot
followingbehindit,thisgave the videoasmoothglide between shotsandallowsthe feelingsto
move alongfromshot to shot.There waslotsof overlayof otherpartsof the videooverotherbits,
thiswas done give the videoablurryfeel,Ididthiswiththe use of opacitylevelsandthe edittool
calledmaskgenerator.Thisallowedthe use of movingsceneonotherscenestogive aghostlylook.
Thiswas useful asitallowedme toadd foreshadowingtothe videoandallowingittobe subtle.
There wasmany parts to the videowhere the maincharacterlookscrazy,this was done withfast
motionandcross cutting,by doingthisitgave the lookof panicand angerin this2 seconds. Thisis
the editingthatI didto the videoandall these thingswere usedalotwithinthe video,alongwith
the use of colourbalance.
The nextpart of the constructionisthe ancillaries,thiswasdone intwomainplacesfirstwasword
documentandthe secondwas Photoshop.The waythatI usedWord waswiththe constructionof
my titles“Don’tsitdowncause I’ve movedyourchair”the reasonfor the use of workis because I
have neverused Photoshopbefore,soWordwashelpful tome asI couldput picturestogetherand
create the titlesthatI did,it tookme around 7 hours to make.Thenafterthe buildingof the titles I
movedonto Photoshop,thiswastoget the titlescleanedupand remove the white background.The
albumwasthen made in the Photoshop withatemplate tohelpme know how bigit needstobe and
the correct dimensions.Thismeantthatthere wouldbe nofaultswiththe endproductintermsof
sizing.Thisletme geton withthe designof the albumandallowedme tocreate many different
typesof the album.The creationof the manydifferenttypesallowedme tomake the judgmentof
whichon isthe better.The firsthad a greencreambackgroundwhichwas a mistake byme as I had
neverusedPhotoshopbefore.The nextwasatan creamwhichis the colour that I wantedsoby
doingitin thiscolourit relatestothe real Arctic Monkeysalbum, suckitand see.Ihad to use many
layerstocreate the final albumandthat includeddrawingthe backgroundwithdifferentshadesof
the Samishcolourso itgave it a patchyeffect. Thismade the background come alive andreactwith
the titles.The title wasina goldcolourso itblendedinwiththe background,thismakesyousee the

was placedatthe bottomof the back.
The evaluation.WhatIdidmy evaluationsIusedaverityof differenttypesof platformstopresent
my work.I firststartedwiththe worddocument,sothe workwouldbe read andseenas a wall of
text,thiswaseasyfor me to write butit wasn’tveryinventive.The nexttechnologythatI usedwas
Prezi,thisisa presentationcompanythatusesperspectivetocreate presentations.Thislooked
reallygoodbutwas extremelytime consuming.SoIdidnotreallyenjoyusingPrezi sothismeant
that ittook evenlongertocreate a piece of work.Thiswas notuseful tome so I triedto avoid Prezi
as much as possible.Nextis backtoword butthisis the waythat I put it onmy blog,I used
Slideshare asitallowedme toput mywork onbloggerand keepthe formatthatis usedonwork.So
it lookedlikeaworddocumentandwas on myblog.The nextwayI usedmediatodo myevaluation
isin the formof an mp3 playeranda video. Thisinvolvedrecordingafriend’svoice asshe reada
scriptthat I made,thenthat audiofile wastransferredtomycomputerandput ontomovie studio
