Our film Red Powder uses several conventions of real media productions such as titles, establishing shots, studio logos, and diegetic and non-diegetic music. It challenges stereotypes by having the likable character be the supposed villain and vice versa. Sounds were mixed diegetically and non-diegetically to make the car scenes more realistic. Locations included a large house for the drug dealer scenes and an apartment to contrast the characters. Costumes were used to signify the characters' wealth, power, and decline. Props like guns were used to engage audiences as is common in thriller films. Different shots represented the emotions of the two main characters. The film introduces music to set the scene and immerse audiences.
