The document summarizes the creation and evaluation of promotional materials for a teen drama film, including a teaser trailer, poster, and magazine cover. The key elements that linked the materials together included consistent fonts, color schemes, characters, and slogans. Audience feedback indicated the poster was most effective at promoting the film due to its bold design and appeal to the target genre, while the magazine cover was less successful and could be improved by incorporating consistent colors and links to drive online engagement. Overall, the typography and color schemes best conveyed the connection between the promotional pieces, according to feedback.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Evaluation question 2 (A2)
1.
2. The main product I created was a teaser trailer for aTeen Drama movie.
Alongside that, I created two ancillary tasks:A promotional poster for the
film and a movie magazine cover featuring the film. The purpose of the
ancillary tasks is to promote the final production (in this case the trailer) but
in the real world all three products would work together to promote the
final film meaning that the audience had to be specifically targeted so that
the ancillary tasks would appeal to them and persuade them to see the film.
In the movie industry the poster is usually released before or at the same
time as the teaser trailer and the magazine cover is released much later,
along with the films actual release.
3. The house style of my ancillary tasks were based around the content and style of
my main production so that the audience would be able to recognise and relate
them to the teaser trailer. This is shown in my main production as the film
features the bucket list as one of the main props and due to that we decided to
have our font look handwritten (with the effect in the trailer) to represent the
writing of the list. The chosen font for the title of the film was then replicated on
my poster and magazine cover so the audience would recognise the products as a
set rather than individual elements. This was also similar for the smaller text on
both my magazine and poster as I chose the same fonts to make sure there was a
consistency.
My audience feedback revealed that the fonts used was one of the factors that
made it obvious that my ancillary tasks went with my main production as well as
the colour scheme through the uses of black, white and blue on both of my
ancillary tasks. They also commented on how the genre is clear from the poster.
In this aspect the poster was successful in in connoting the genre but the
magazine cover wasn’t as successful as I hoped, I could possibly improve this by
using the same shades on both ancillary tasks.
4.
5. To suggest the genre of my products, I had to find a key element that would
portray the genre to my target audience. I conducted this through the use of
the facial expressions of my characters and the colour scheme of my two
ancillary tasks. The use of the positive facial expressions and body language
of the characters in the images suggests that the film is quite light-hearted,
and that paired with the quite pastel colour scheme eliminates the idea that
the film could be a horror, thriller, action e.c.t.as they are more better
known for dramatic facial expressions and bold colours. The use of these
elements were so that it was obvious that the film is a teen drama rather
than any other genre and the subtle use of the greyscale on one of the
characters suggests that there may be a tragedy in the storyline.
My audience feedback revealed that it was obvious that the genre of all
three products was a teen drama as they were all able to correctly identify
the genre from the trailer and said that the two ancillary tasks supported
this, therefore my attempt at carrying the genre through was a success.
6.
7. Mise-en-scene is created through my three products to once again
make sure that there is a link between them that the audience would
be able to recognise. I created this through the use of the bucket list
being featured in all of my products (as the background of the poster
and magazine, and as a prop in the trailer.) I thought this would be a
relevant prop to use as a background image due to it being key to the
narrative and would be something that the audience would recognise
easily from the film and could therefore relate that prop to not only
the narrative but also the promotional products as well. I also used a
similar pose for the main anchorage of the magazine and the poster
to create consistency that the audience would pick up on and be able
to relate the two products together.
My audience feedback revealed that the recognition between the
products was more due to the typography and colour scheme more
than the consistent mise-en-scene used, therefore the use of the
bucket list and similar poses wasn’t as successful as I would have
hoped.
8.
9. One way that my ancillary tasks promotes my main product as well as interests the
audience is the use of characters. The fact that I have used the same characters across all
three products means that it is likely the audience will form a personal identity with them
as they would have seen them many times. Not only this but the characters are the same
age as the audience and would therefore relate to the characters and would be curious on
what happens to them.
There is also the use of the slogan “One List,Two Friends,Three Hearts” which is present on
the poster as well as the main product meaning that once again the audience will make the
connection between the two and the poster once again, having a link to the main product,
promotes the film.
Another way the ancillary tasks promote my product is through convergence as there is the
social media tag featured on both the poster and the teaser trailer and the website that
features on the poster which will encourage the audience to find out more about the movie
as well as appealing to the audience due to the online age we live in and that our target
audience spends a lot of time on social media and the internet as a whole.
My audience feedback revealed that the poster would persuade them to watch the film
more than the magazine cover as it appeals to the type of films they would watch as well as
the fact that the poster itself is bold and they liked the slogan. Therefore I was successful in
promoting and persuading my audience to see the film through my poster but my
magazine cover wasn’t as successful as it could have been.
10.
11. In conclusion, although my audience all agreed that all three
elements of my advanced portfolio go well together,
however as they didn’t specifically state which elements
suggest this, I couldn’t evaluate it as much as I would have
liked. If I got to re-do this task I would make sure to have
more direct questions to receive in depth information on the
combination of these tasks.
Despite this, I can see from their answers that the magazine
cover isn’t as effective as the poster in terms of promotion
and interest to the audience as all three of them said they
would be more likely to see the film from the poster more
than my other ancillary task.To improve the combination of
my products, I will have to reconsider the text of my
magazine cover as well as possibly including a social media
link on there to continue to convergence.
