2. Screenings – 1st screening.
ADD PICTURES OF SCREENING FEEDBACK.
Several times throughout the A2 project we were required to provide the most up to
date version of the music video and ancillary tasks for the rest of the group and our
teachers to see, we would then receive feedback from the class on what they
thought was done well in the video and what we needed to improve or change in
order to get higher marks for the project. For the first screening we had not actually
finished the video so there were several blanks in the video that needed to be filled.
The class did however still give us relevant and helpful feedback on how to improve
the video. after making the changes and additions that the class recommended to us
we were then required to prepare an export for a second screening in order to see
how much progression had been made.
3. 1st screening – Ancillary tasks.
We received a bit of feedback for the ancillary tasks that we created for the project
as well. At this stage the ancillary tasks were created in just under half an hour as we
were very rushed for the first deadline so it was difficult for the class to give us
feedback that would help us because the digipak and magazine advert looked very
rough because we had to rush to finish them. We did however receive a little bit of
feedback which told us to change the colour scheme as the class generally thought
the black background was too dark and did not fit the genre because if the
background was brighter then it might fit the genre better because ska pop is
considered to be a fun genre as appose to a dark genre.
4. After making the changes and additions that the class recommended to us from
the first screening we were then required to prepare an export for a second
screening in order to see how much progression had been made. The feedback
from the second screening was considerably less because we had actually created
a finished version of the film so the feedback consisted mainly of things that
needed to be changed such as lighting in certain parts or needing of another angle
for a certain shot as appose to being told to fill a 30 second chunk that had no
footage in it. We still took the feedback into account and made the changes that
we were told to make in order to create a final film which would then be marked.
Screenings – 2nd screening.
5. 2nd screening – Ancillary tasks.
The second screening did not provide us
with masses of changed to make to the
ancillary tasks as they were essentially
finished, the main focus was on the music
video. We did however receive a bit of
feedback for the ancillary tasks that we had
to make them look more exciting because
the dull colours that were on there did not
reflect our band and the album the way we
wanted it to. After the feedback that I
needed to make them look more exciting I
decided to use screenshots from the video
mixed with pictures that we had taken as
the backgrounds for the digipak and
magazine advert because it made them
both look a lot more exciting and it felt like
it would give the audience an insight into
the band as they can see us more
personally enjoying ourselves.
6. Twitter/Facebook.
We created Facebook and
Twitter accounts for the band in
order to communicate with fans
and get feedback from them on
what they think we should do
with the video and ancillary
tasks.
