My magazine follows several conventions of real music magazines:
1. It uses a masthead on the cover and contents pages in a distinct font to identify the magazine title, mimicking techniques used by magazines like NME.
2. The color scheme of black, white, and red is typical of rock/indie magazines like Kerrang and adds a rough, grungy look.
3. The fonts mimic those of the genre to attract the target audience, and the main text font is used consistently throughout for familiarity, as seen in many rock magazines.
4. Studio photographs are the primary image on pages, a convention for a more professional look, though some action shots are also used on

Specifically, it covers conventions around mastheads, fonts, color schemes, photography, date lines, pull quotes, and watermarks. The author analyzes how they applied each convention and why to best suit their target audience and make their magazine appealing and readable.
Tom Ibbott evaluated his magazine project. He analyzed how his magazine used and developed conventions from real magazines in its content, layouts, and formats. He represented various social groups like teenagers, EDM fans, and the middle class. He challenged some stereotypes about these groups. Finally, he discussed that Bauer Media, BBC/Immediate Media, or Time Inc. UK would be suitable media institutions to distribute his magazine because of their experience producing similar magazines.

The document summarizes the design choices made for a student-created music magazine called "UNPLUGGED" aimed at fans of folky/acoustic music. It compares the conventions and layout used in "UNPLUGGED" to those of an existing magazine called "ACOUSTIC" targeted at a similar audience. Key elements copied from real magazines include a cover featuring a musician holding an unconventional instrument, black and white photographs, mastheads, and a color scheme carried throughout. The student also experimented with some unconventional elements like different fonts and a semi-transparent background image.
This document discusses how the media product follows several conventions of real magazines. It specifically addresses:
- Only including partial page numbers to not interfere with the design but still provide navigation.
- Placing the masthead in the top left corner for visibility and overlapping it with the cover image to save space.
- Using the same font throughout for familiarity but distorting it occasionally for variety.
- Having a primary color scheme of red, black, and white for professionalism and accessibility.
- Incorporating pull quotes into articles to highlight important excerpts and promote reading in a recognizable style.
While following many standard conventions, some elements are adapted to better suit the specific media
The document discusses how the media product, a music magazine, uses and develops conventions from real magazines. It describes using conventions like a masthead with bold font, pull quotes in an interview article, drop caps, cover lines on the front cover, group photography on double page spreads and covers, and a plug on the front cover. While some conventions like pull quotes and drop caps were directly followed, others like the masthead color scheme and positioning of cover lines were modified to make the magazine unique. An overall color scheme was used to make the magazine visually cohesive and recognizable.
In this document, the author summarizes how their media product uses, develops, and challenges conventions of real magazines. They used conventions like including a masthead on the front cover and contents page for branding. They developed conventions by using a drop shadow on the masthead and softer color scheme. The author challenged conventions by using muted colors instead of bright ones typically seen in rock magazines. Across multiple pages, the author both adopted typical magazine layouts but also developed them by using a more formal, structured style.
The document discusses how the media product follows conventions of real music magazines. It summarizes that the magazine follows conventions such as having the masthead in the top left, a buzz word on the front cover, the main image above the masthead, and a sub-heading on the front cover. It also notes that conventions are followed with font choices, date placement, use of pull quotes, and photography style that maintains eye contact. Some conventions are challenged through the use of different fonts on the double page spread. Overall, the media product aims to adhere to typical magazine conventions while also experimenting in some areas.

The document discusses costume and prop plans for a photoshoot for a music magazine. It explains that the artist's style of dress will be different than a rock genre to match the alternative genre. For a band photo on content pages, the photographer plans to capture the band playing live, using a similar camera position and band positioning as an example image, and ensuring the band has instruments.
The document discusses how the author addressed their audience in their music magazine. They used several design elements including a bold masthead font, column layout for text and images on double page spreads, colors of black, blues, yellows and reds, prizes and competitions advertised on the cover and contents page in colored circles, inclusion of posters based on survey results, and a price of £3.50 determined from survey results showing most respondents preferred a price in the £3-£4 range and being willing to pay more for a monthly magazine. These elements were meant to attract the target audience and get their attention.
From constructing this media project, the author learned several technologies:
1) The author learned how to use blogging platforms like Blogger, uploading work and embedding images and content.
2) Survey Monkey was used to create audience surveys, which helped develop a reader profile and understand expectations.
3) PowerPoint was used for planning and analysis, and was uploaded to SlideShare to embed in the blog.
4) A DSLR camera was used to capture professional magazine-quality images.
5) Photoshop skills like improving image levels, brightness and cropping were learned to enhance photos.
6) InDesign was necessary for designing the double page magazine spread, using columns
The document discusses determining the target audience for a media product. It describes conducting a survey and researching other magazines to understand what readers want. The creator developed an initial reader profile showing the ideal target audience's age, personality, and lifestyle. While this was created early before full research, the creator believes it accurately depicts the likely target audience.
The combination of the main music video product and ancillary digipak and magazine advert products is effective at promoting the band's album.
All three products use consistent elements like a black color scheme and raw, gritty aesthetic to represent the band's rebellious image. Specific shots and artwork are reused across products, like the live performance image on the digipak also appearing in the video. Shared album artwork, font, and record label branding further link the ancillary products and reinforce the band's identity. Text like "limited edition" is added to drive interest and sales. Overall, the complementary and reinforcing nature of the elements across the three promotional products helps sell the album and band's concept.
This is an evaluation for my media coursework where i have answered: How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
The promotional package for Royal Blood includes a music video, digipak, and magazine advertisement.
In the music video, the group studied camera work theory and analyzed other music videos to incorporate conventions like close-ups of both band members. Locations were chosen to fit the narrative and genre conventions of showing the band's live performance. Costumes and instruments were used to portray the band accurately. Editing used rhythmic cutting and effects like black and white continued the band's style.
Research of other digipaks informed the design process to include common conventions like layout, two disks of content, and live photo on the back. The advertisement replicated the digipak art and included key information audiences expect to see promoted
This shotlist contains 42 shots describing scenes from a documentary film. The shots include scenes of a man pretending to be homeless and collecting money, charity collectors going door-to-door, and a band performing live in a music studio. The shots involve different camera movements, angles, props, costumes and locations to tell the story over the course of the film.
The shooting schedule outlines the plans to film a music video for the project "Loose Change" over two dates. On the first date, the crew will collect equipment, set up at Lendal College, and shoot scenes at Lendal College and Louise's house. They will then shoot a fight scene on Eastholme Drive. The second date involves filming live performance scenes at York College music studio. The schedule provides contact details for crew and cast, locations, times, and shot numbers planned for each activity.
The document outlines props and costumes being used for a music video. Props for the band performance include drums, a bass guitar, microphone, and an amp showing various brand logos. A homeless man character will hold a cardboard sign and blanket to appear authentic. The main character will use headphones to block noise and an identifiable phone brand. Charity collectors will carry a recognizable bucket. Costumes include the band dressed in all black, consistent with the genre, and a homeless man actually wearing a suit under a blanket as part of a plot twist.
The music video for Foals' "My Number" features several close-ups of the band members playing their instruments, which record companies request to increase recognition. Throughout the video, the camera pans to show the audience reacting to the live performance, a common convention for this genre. Camera effects are used to symbolize drug use, supported when cutting to toilets. Product placement aims to influence the audience to purchase brands used by the band.
The video edits quickly to the beat of the song using rhythmic editing. At the beginning, the editing is slower to build anticipation, but increases as the band starts playing to feel more upbeat. Shots of the engaged audience at the live performance add to the lively feel. The male band members are portrayed as practical through their skilled playing of instruments. Product placement in music videos aims to increase sales by associating brands with bands and their fans through endorsed products suited to the genre and audience.
The document analyzes the music video for the song "The Pretender". It discusses several techniques used in the music video, including the opening scene with red and white colors and lighting up as the singer walks. Close-ups of band members are used to make them recognizable, and product placement promotes the band's products. The band members are depicted as practical by skillfully playing instruments, supported by long shots and close-ups. As the song progresses, the editing becomes faster to match the rhythm and camera movements become sharper to fit the aggressive genre. Toward the end, riot police confront the band, relating to lyrics about surrender and being enemies.
The survey results provide useful information for creating a music video for a rock band. The primary audience is males aged 17-21 who prefer a music video that blends narrative and live performance. Common elements in rock music videos like guitars, denim jackets and city locations should be included. The fast cutting editing style is most popular. This data will help guide creative choices to make a music video that appeals to the target rock audience.
Digipaks are gatefold cases that hold one or more disks. They are commonly used for CD singles or special album editions. The document analyzes several digipaks from the same music genre as the band in question. It describes the cover art, contents, and designs of the digipaks to understand how they market and represent the artists.
The music video for Foals' "My Number" uses several camera techniques. There are close-ups of the band members playing their instruments to showcase their musical skills. The camera pans to the audience to show their reaction to the live performance. Camera effects are used to symbolize drug use and its effects on the audience. Product placement of brands is included to influence viewers to purchase products used by the band.

How to Make a Field Mandatory in Odoo 17Celine George
In Odoo, making a field required can be done through both Python code and XML views. When you set the required attribute to True in Python code, it makes the field required across all views where it's used. Conversely, when you set the required attribute in XML views, it makes the field required only in the context of that particular view.

LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like

Changes in vegetation cover refer to variations in the distribution, composition, and overall
structure of plant communities across different temporal and spatial scales. These changes can
occur natural.

Evaluation question 1
1. Q1.In what ways does your
media product use,
develop or challenge forms
and conventions of real
media products?
2. Masthead
Here is three examples of different
music magazines that all show the
conventions of a masthead. From
carrying out my researching by looking
at different magazines from the music
genre that I have chosen I have learnt
that the main image covers part of the
masthead, however you are still able to
see what the name of the magazine.
While designing my magazine front
cover I thought about the conventions
that I have learnt and decided to follow
them by putting the main image over
part of the masthead. This has been
done in a similar way to the other three
magazines shown on the left. This
shows that I have followed the
convention and audiences will recognise
this.
I have also used a masthead on my contents page. This has been done
in the same font as my masthead on my front cover, this shows
continuity throughout my magazine. Although it has been used a
another part of my magazine it is still unique and will stand out to my
audience.
3. Fonts
I have decided to use the three same examples of mastheads to show how
they all use similar style of font. For each example shown here you are able
to see that they all have used a bold font which stands out on the page. They
have done this so that the magazines target audience will see it and it will
grab there attention. A bold font will also contrast from the other fonts that
have been used on the rest of the front cover.
After experimenting using different masthead with my selected image I decided
on this design. While I was looking at different fonts I kept in mind the
conventions of a typical masthead on a magazine as well as thinking of the
genre of music that I am doing and how the mast head font will link to that
genre. Also I had to think about what my target audience would like and what
will grab there attention. The font is bold and stands out which is contributed
by using the colour black which is also conventional of the genre. The style of
the font will also grab the audiences attention as the B is shown differently, and
this will be something that the audience will look out for and recognise on the
magazine.
While producing my magazine I experimented by using different font
and seeing how they worked with the rest of the designed front
cover.
This was the original masthead that I had chosen to use. However
this was before I had taken the images and finished designing the
layout of my front cover. When I was using photo shop to create my
front cover I discover that this font was not bold enough to be a
masthead and did not stand out on the page. I was also wanting to
follow the conventions of a masthead as this is what my target
audience would be expecting to see on this magazine.
4. Style of photography
The examples that I have chosen show how the artist has
been placed in the centre of the page and the
photographer has used a medium close up. Both of these
images have been taken from different music magazines
but have been taken in very similar ways. This style of
photography is conventional for a music magazine, either
it being a single artist or a band the image will always be
centred in middle of the page. Although this may not be
a convention it is very common to see the image taken at
a medium shot rather then a full image of the artist.
The photography work for my magazine has
been done has been shown in similar way as
I feel that this convention will appeal to my
audience and will be noticed if not done. I
have used a medium close up with the artist
look straight into the camera and they have
been placed against a white background
which is very similar to the other two front
covers. The positioning of the image is also
the same with him being directly in the
centre of the page. This technique was also
useful as I was able to fit in the text around
it easily and it does not look to full.
5. Barcode
Another convention is using a barcode, I was able to find
this out after researching front covers. The positioning of
the barcode was always in a similar place, the image on the
top right shows how the barcode has been placed in the
bottom right corner not distracting the target audience
away from the main image. The barcode is also keep
minimal on the page and will not stand out to the audience
buying the magazine, as a result of this the target audience
will be looking at the magazine and its content before
looking at the price. This will encourage them to purchase
the magazine after being encouraged to by the content
first.
The barcode on my magazine has also been kept to a
minimum with it being in the bottom right corner like the
other magazine and is not distracting from the image.
6. Colour scheme
From the research that I carried out on magazines I have
been able to see a convention used throughout on the
colour scheme. The two different brands of magazine
shown above are examples of how they have used the
conventional colour schemes, these are red, black, white
and yellow. These four colours have been use because
they will appeal to there target audience as well as the
ideologies that support this genre of music. In order to
have my magazine appeal to my target audience I have
tried to include the conventional colours where they
have worked alongside the images.
I have not followed the convention with
all of the colours for the whole of the
magazine as not all of the colour went
with the colours in the images that I had
chosen to use. However I have been able
to continue the colour black throughout
as well as using both yellow and red on a
section of the contents page.
7. Fonts The magazines that I have analysed have used a variety of different
fonts for both their front cover and the inside of their magazine. I have
decided to follow this by using fonts that work with the genre as well as
appeal to my target audience.
I have been able to show an example is this on the word ‘Win’. This
has also been used in the Kerrang magazine shown at the side. I
decided to do this quote in a different font as it will stand out on the
page compared to the other text. I also did it in a red colour in a
yellow circle, the same as Kerrang, to draw the readers attention to
this section of the page.
I have also shown a use of interesting fonts
for the mast head on the front cover as
well as both the headings for both the
contents page and double page spread. By
doing this my magazine has become unique
and more interesting standing out from the
other magazine that are available.
8. Drop caps
Drop caps are a convention of a double page spread and are
shown in all three of the examples bellow. A drop cap
indicates where the text is beginning and it will guide the
readers attention to this point. It also starts to make the
text more visually intersecting for the reader to look at.
Although two of the magazine shown below have used a
colour on their drop caps that is related to the colours
used in the image, I decided it was best for mine just to be
kept black as when I experimented with using a colour it
no longer worked with the rest of the text.
9. Pull Quotes
A pull quote is a quote that has been taken from
something that the artist has said. The quote will make
the audience feel differently about the artist or create an
impact to the audience, it is something important or
powerful that the audience has said. In the three
magazines that I am using as examples they have all used
a pull quote on there double page spread. They have kept
to the conventions of a double page spread because they
know that the audience will be expecting to see one on
this page.
The pull quote is also normally used in a different font and
is put in speech marks. In my double page spread I have
used an italic font style which makes it stand out from the
rest of the text.
10. Page Numbers
In this example of a contents page
Kerrang magazine, have placed there
page numbers on some of the images.
Kerrang has done this so that the page
looks more interesting to look at as
well as making it easy for the readers
to find what page to go to for the
main stories.
Using the page numbers like this can
be a convention of a contents page
in a magazine. I have decided to
follow this idea on my contents
page. This will allow my readers to
find the pages easily on the sections
they want to read.
