The target audience for the media product is 16-25 year olds of both genders who enjoy pop, R&B, and listen music. Feedback was gathered from this target audience through focus groups to help shape the magazine. To attract the target audience, a range of colors were used to appeal to both males and females. Reception theory was also used to help the audience relate to the artists featured. Social media links were included to directly engage the target audience, as social media is popular among them. The front cover features an image intended to attract both sexes without being negative, using features like pull quotes and labeling content as "exclusive" to further attract readers' interest.
