EVALUATION – QUESTION 4 & 5
Who would be the
audience for your media
product?
&
How did you attract /
address your audience?
TARGET AUDIENCE
16-25 year olds
Both male and female
Listen/Pop/RnB
Throughout the production of my construction I have discussed
things with my targer audience a number of time through my focus
group and they have given me useful feedback on what I needed to
change and what that particular audience would want from a music
magazine.
ATTRACTING MY TARGET
AUDIENCEMy target audience consists of both male and female
I tried to appeal to both genders by using a range of colours that appeal to both as well as
house theme. I also used reception theory throughout to attract my target audience so that
they could relate to the artists in the magazine, creating personal relationships and therefore
potentially building a loyal continuous fan base.
ATTRACTING MY TARGET
AUDIENCE – FRONT COVER
I made my front cover a reflection of what I see young adults growing
up. I think it attracts both sexes and that it does not have a negative
affect, instead admiration. Although there possibly may be more of
an attracting on the male side.
I used features like ‘pull quotes’ to attract my audience and with the
use of ‘exclusive’ this attracts them more as they feel it will not be
anywhere else. I feel the colours all contrast well and I’m happy with
the image.
CONTENTS PAGE
I used a technique to attract my target audience, which was engaging
them with the links for social media. Social media is a popular
platform especially for my target audience, therefore this directly
engages with them, and they can also express their issues with it,
which could be taken as constructive criticism and keep working
towards delivering what they want, therefore keeping them happy.
DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD
To attract my audience I used a quote to entice them into reading the
rest.
The name of the artist is bold and stands out on the page which
catches their attention, again moving them to read more.
The image as I said earlier, it gives this sneaky rebellious perception
which the audience will be interested by, but it faces the text on the
page, which faces to the reader.
