HOW DID YOU
ATTRACT/ADDRESS YOUR
TARGET AUDIENCE?
LANGUAGE
Firstly I used formal language to address my target audience, this
suggests how it is the best way to draw the audience’s attention.
Another reason is, makes the text interesting and less boring to
read. For my interview I made the questions bold, this is because I
wanted to make it obvious that it was the question and that the
answer is below the question.
SECONDARY RESEARCH
The importance of the secondary research,
when I analysed the different magazines. One
of them are the ‘Kerrang’ magazine. I believe
that the target audience for this magazine is
between 15-25. I think this because the four
males which are the models of this magazine
are between the age of the target audience.
Additionally, I also think males might
dominant for reading this magazine, however
females may also be attracted, by having four
males at the front cover this may draw some
females to buy the magazine and be
interested. The race of reading the magazine
will be white females and males. Perhaps this
is because there is four white males at the
front of the magazine.
CONVENTIONS AND EXPECTATIONS
I felt, while analysing this magazine that it was overall a successful
magazine. The audience of ‘Kerrang’ magazine perhaps felt that the
headlines on the front cover was overlapping each other. This
suggests the confusion of the magazine. The effect of this, from the
audience is makes the audience the focus on different sections of the
magazine cover. A convention that was used successfully was the
maths head, while creating a magazine, using an appropriate maths
head (title). The maths head was at the top of the magazine. The
white colour was used to make the maths head stand out from
the red background. This makes the magazine conventional. This
research guided me to keep my magazine conventional and meet my
target audience. The way I ensured of following the conventions
was by analysing other magazines.
WHAT AUDIENCE TO ATTRACT?
The audience that I would like to attract for my music
magazine is teenagers. The age between 15-20. This is
because the genre of my music magazine is Hip-Hop and
the ages between 15-20 are more interested to Hip-Hop
music. If my target audience is interested to the music
genre I chose this is will be a huge advantage to me as the
editor, that will make the audience buy, read my
magazine. As I mentioned before when I was audience
profiling that the socio-economics will be, letter E. Letter
E is students and unemployed adults that can buy my
media product. My magazine price is £4, I chose this
amount because £4 is suitable for students to buy and
unemployment adults to buy as well. When I was thinking
about my proposal, I thought about just attracting females
but then decided of attracting both genders. Males will be
attracted by the female model, from the front cover. By my
magazine being based on music, the people that enjoy
reading about music will enthusiastic about my music
QUESTIONNAIRES
I carried out a questionnaire which was about my media product. I asked
ten questions in total. Most of the questions was open questions which
helps me to have external opinions. Having a questionnaires was
important because it gave me an idea of what target audience to
choose, gave me a clue of how much my magazine should cost.

WHY WAS THE PRIMARY
RESEARCH IMPORTANT?
Primary research was important because it helps to gather
research independently and to interact with the audience
myself. Additionally, it gives valid and accurate data. The
questionnaire method is trustworthy, by doing it by myself.
