The document discusses the target audience and how the author attracted their audience for their magazine. The target audience is males and females aged 16-20. Feedback from a focus group helped determine the age range and preferences. The magazine aims to appeal to both genders by using neutral colors and including both male and female subjects in photos. It also features obscure and up-and-coming musicians to attract young audiences interested in the latest industry trends. Bright and mirrored effects were used on the magazine cover to draw in readers, as were eye-catching images and styles the target demographic would find affordable and on-trend.
2. AUDIENCE AND
ATTRACTION?
My target audience for my magazine is both
genders aged between 16 and 20. Through
my focus group, I sought feedback on the
potential age range of the target audience
and on the preferences of that age group
for the style of the magazine.
3. AUDIENCE AND
ATTRACTION?
I tried to aim the magazine to both male
and females, as I didn’t want to limit
audience. I did this by using neutral
colours, and using male and female
gaze in photography and also featured
males and females in photography. I
also don't want to be stereotypical and
promote it more for one gender than the
other, therefore keeping a balanced
target audience.
4. AUDIENCE AND
ATTRACTION?
The magazine was intended to appeal to
all classes of audience with the music
taste of the Pop/hip-hop genre; it will be
affordable enough for students or the
working class population, but, with its
high-end feel, was also aimed at the
middle/upper classes who have more
disposable income. This is all due to the
cost of the magazine, which is £3.99
5. AUDIENCE AND
ATTRACTION?
I would be targeting a specialist audience;
my production includes lots of features for
a niche market. It includes popular music
that may be quite obscure, which adds to
the unique features of my magazine. It will
include unknown as well as up-and-coming
artists, which will attract the young
audiences, as they tend to want to keep up-
to-date with the industry.
6. AUDIENCE AND
ATTRACTION?
To attract my audience, as well as using the
focus group for input and feedback, I
included a bright strange effect and a
mirror effect to create that obscurity about
my magazine.
7. AUDIENCE AND
ATTRACTION?
Concerning mise en scene, I dressed the featured
artists in clothing that was very current and
simple, so that the target audience is keeping up
with the latest styles and trends- which were
affordable and easily maintained. Furthermore,
styling was kept simplistic so that the target
audience was not overly distracted by the models
clothing but were more interested in the music
contents.
8. AUDIENCE AND
ATTRACTION?
I made the images eye catching to initially draw-in
the audience, and features of opposing and
attracting in keeping with Mulvey’s Male Gaze
(uses and grat); for example, the front cover uses a
composed and sophisticated female image which
addresses women, yet the use of her sultry and
attractive look also addresses men.
9. AUDIENCE AND
ATTRACTION?
The direct mode of address on all of my
posed images gives a personal relationship
(uses and grat) which can be of great
importance to fans.
