This document provides descriptions of six different filming locations for a documentary about mental health issues among college students. The locations include: 1) A college where an interview with an academic coach will take place to convey the college setting. 2) A field where background footage of a lonely person on a bench will be filmed. 3) The college itself which will serve as an establishing shot. 4) The college where student opinions will be obtained. 5) A town center where a panoramic shot highlighting the prevalence of mental health issues will be recorded. 6) A location with a blue screen where interviews on mental health can be conducted against edited backgrounds.

1. Location Recce

2. This is where we will conduct an
interview with one of the academic
coaches at the college. We have chosen
this spot as it has images of students in
the background, and the general mise
en scene of the area makes it clear that
it has been taken inside of the college
and that the interviewee it a genuine
member of the college staff. It is
important that the idea of it being taken
in a college is conveyed as this is the age
group the film is aimed at.

3. This is a location we are using to record
background footage. There will be someone
sitting on a bench alone in a field. This image will
be blurred out in the film. We are doing this as it
allows us to create a sense of loneliness, a
common theme associated with mental health
problems.

4. This will serve as an establishing shot for out film. This is a good shot to use as it shows the
college, which does not only open the documentary but also establishes the target
audience and subject of our film.

5. Here is one of the location where we will be conducting our VOX POP interviews. The
people we interview here will be students of the college. This will be where we get the
opinions of the students in their own environment.

6. Here is a location in Solihull town centre where we will record a panoramic shot. For this
show we plan to stop the footage and highlight a quarter of the people in the shot,
representing the fact that ¼ people suffer from mental health issues.

7. This is where we will record a variety of out VOX POP interviews. Using the blue screen
we will be able to edit any kind of image in the background behind the person we
interview. We plan to include mental health related material such as posters and facts
that will provide the viewer with additional information.

8. This is the Bible Learning Centre where we will be conducting another of our
interviews where will be able to get a religious view on mental health issues. This will
be the source of the opposing view to the general message conveyed by the film.
