How did you use media technologies
      in the construction and
  research, planning & evaluation
              stages?
I used a number of media technologies such as final
cut, Photoshop, internet etc. I believe I used full advantage of these
technologies to help make my products how I planned them to be.

Whilst my research and planning stage I made use of number of media
technologies such as the internet, which was very important as I used
Google to search existing professional projects which I then can analyse
to help me make my product. Google came very handy for the film
posters and magazine covers as I search ‘horror’ genre posters or type
in magazine names and look at there front covers to help me with my
products.
When looking at examples of professional products for my teaser trailers
I used websites of film companies through ‘Google’ but I also used
YouTube. YouTube would let me explore a variety of teaser trailers and I
could then choose the ones with the same genre as mine to later
analyse and build my main product.

I had to use ‘Wordpress’ a blog page where I would put my work such as
the analysing of professional products, my idea for my products and all
my planning. I had difficulty with some aspects of wordpress such as
remembering how to embed links but these problems where overcome
very easily.

Furthermore Microsoft office was important when I had to type
information and present my work in a clear format so that I could get my
points across to the audience.
After my filming I used ‘Final cut’ an editing software on an apple
mac, where I made transitions, cuts, sound modifications etc. I
uploaded all my different scene to final cut which I then would place
together to make my teaser trailer, I would then decide if I wanted to
connect the two clips with a cut or fade transition.

On the left there is a screen grab of a fade (the grey box)

I also added or changed sounds on my teaser trailer, I added
voiceovers and music to give strong atmosphere to the teaser trailer.
The screen grab below shows a voiceover which is a .WAV file being
placed in to final cut which would play along side the video
I could preview sounds and clips, so this helped me to make clear
decisions on which clip was the better one to use, and which sound clip
was the clearest. On the top screen grabs I am clicking on clips and
testing them out to see which ones were of the best quality.

When making the Film Poster & Magazine cover I used Photoshop to
edit the images and to added on text and effects. Using Photoshop
wasn’t extremely hard as I had used it before.
The screen grab above shows the title of my film poster ‘sinister’ I had
to use Photoshop to find the write font, then added the colour red to it
but it didn’t look strong until I added black outline to the words which I
thought made the text much better.

In my magazine cover I wouldn’t a black circle with a promotional line in
it, by using Photoshop It made it very easy, because all I did was use a
rubber in the shape of a circle to make the circle then added black to it
and placed the white text in it.
One of the difficulties I had with Photoshop was trying to place small
logos of production teams to my film poster which I couldn’t seem to
do, so next time I would make my own small logos and then place them
in to my film poster this will need more time taken on it, as I will have to
make them from scratch.

Overall I was happy with the software and new technology I used as I
did make my products how I wanted to make them. All three products
came out well due to the use of these new technologies.
