The EU aims to increase the employment rate of people aged 20-64 to 75% by 2020, including through greater participation of youth, older workers, low-skilled workers, and legal migrants. Member states should promote employability through education and training programs that provide skills matching labor market demands. They should also improve access to training, career guidance, and job opportunity information to support young people, especially those not in education, employment, or training. Soft skills like communication, teamwork and problem solving are highly valued by employers in addition to technical skills.
