1. Patriotism Definition Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of patriotism is a task that requires a delicate balance between
personal sentiments and objective analysis. The challenge lies in navigating the intricate nuances
of a concept that is deeply rooted in emotions, cultural identity, and political ideologies.
Patriotism, being a multifaceted and subjective theme, demands a comprehensive exploration
that goes beyond a mere dictionary definition.
To begin with, one must grapple with the diversity of perspectives surrounding patriotism.
People's interpretations are often shaped by their cultural backgrounds, historical contexts, and
individual experiences. As an essayist, capturing the essence of patriotism means delving into the
various dimensions of this term – from the pride associated with national identity to the
potential pitfalls of blind allegiance.
Moreover, the challenge is heightened by the need to strike a balance between highlighting the
positive aspects of patriotism and acknowledging its potential drawbacks. Unquestioning loyalty
can sometimes lead to exclusionary tendencies or even aggression. Addressing such complexities
requires a nuanced approach and a keen understanding of the historical and contemporary
contexts in which patriotism manifests.
Additionally, the writer must navigate the thin line between passion and objectivity. It is easy to
be swayed by personal beliefs and emotions when dealing with a topic as charged as patriotism.
However, a well-crafted essay demands a measured tone that encourages critical thinking and
respectful discourse rather than propagating a singular viewpoint.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the definition of patriotism is a challenging endeavor that
necessitates a careful examination of the multifaceted nature of the concept. Striking the right
balance between emotional connection and intellectual analysis is key to producing a thoughtful
and impactful piece. However, for those seeking assistance or looking to explore similar topics in

2. Different Signs, Communication and Language throughout
the...
When words don t work and the communication barrier breaks down, humans rely on
the universal trait to get their point across: body language. However, in London or
France, one may find that his or her thumbs up may have them running by the seat of
their pants.
Growing up as Americans, we ve conditioned ourselves to accept certain gestures as
socially accepted bridges of communication; we can express our admiration of an act
with a simple thumbs up, or perhaps accurately convey the extent of our distaste by
elevating the middle finger, varying the enthusiasm situation by situation.
Just as hairstyle, fashion, and vocabulary have changed over the years, so, too, has
body language continued to evolve through the generations. Just in the last 30 years,
we ve seen a handshake turn from a formal shaking of two hands into an intricate
routine of fist bumps, over and under pounds, and a number of other complex
movements combined into one fluid motion. The peace sign, made by raising the
index and middle finger, was so accepted by Americans during the Woodstock era
that it became a necessity when greeting another person. Eventually, the sporting
world turned it into a sign of victory, but this powerful sign of passion and patriotism
now is an old fashioned, cheesy memory of what once was. Anyone caught using it in
the traditional sense in present times is most likely still stuck in the glory days or
independent enough not to care.
Even as gestures have changed in our own

5. The Negative Effects Of Space Travel
Introduction 400 According to the Oxford dictionary, outer space is defined to be
the physical universe beyond the atmosphere of earth (Oxford, 2017). Space travel
specifically long term assignments can be difficult due to the extreme
environment consisting of a hard vacuum, high levels of radiation and
microgravity being hazardous to the health and wellbeing of the crew. The
controversary regarding space travel is regarding the adverse effects on the
individuals health. As humans are not able to properly adapt physically and
biologically to space, a series of extensive training must take place before space
travel is allowed. Overall the training period for an astronaut is approximately 18
months or longer depending on experience. There are variety of procedures
astronauts must go through such as using the Space Vehicle Mock Up Facility
which gives a simulation of how they will be operating the space shuttle and how
they will move about, the KC 35 which provides them with roughly 20 seconds of
weightlessness, a machine called the Precision Air Bearing Floor assists astronauts
when moving larger objects in space and lastly the Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory
which allows them to practice extravehicular activities i.e. space walks (NASA,
2009). Astronauts are required to float underwater for up to seven hours while
operating a full sized model of a space vehicle (NASA, 2009). Along with that, they
must learn medical procedures, survival training in case of emergency and
6. Light vs. Dark in Heart of Darkness Essay
Light vs. Dark in Heart of Darkness
The realism movement of the late nineteenth century produced works in literature that
were marked by reduced sentimentality and increased objectivity. The goal was to let
details tell the story, and remove noticeable bias of the author through scientific and
detailed descriptions. While this form of storytelling undoubtedly is most accurate, it
creates difficulties for authors to incorporate their themes into the story. This resulted
in an increase in symbolism in realist works. The objects and descriptions within the
story are the author s vehicle for displaying the values and themes of the work. Light
and darkness are symbols commonly used in literature, and have held specific

One of the biggest ways he contrast s the two is in physical locations themselves.
Conrad uses light as a symbol of civilization. Just as darkness is defined as the
absence of light, the black jungle represents the absence of white man s
civilization a civilization marked by corruption and evil. Conrad s description of
Brussels in part one is an example of how he uses detail to convey deeper meaning.
In a very few hours I arrived at a city that always made me think of a white
sepulcher. (953) It is significant that Conrad describes the building Marlow
departs from as a white coffin, because the offices in that building are driven by
greed and their job is sending men out to their almost certain deaths. The white
men in the white town send sailors in search of their white prize, ivory. This cycle
of evil begins and ends in this town. Describing the town as white is deceptive,
because the town itself possesses an ominous feeling of death. This symbolizes the
deception of all the sailors who come to this town in hopes of finding fortune and are
sent to their deaths. Conrad makes it clear that this is a deception not found in the
darkness of the jungle. When Marlow approaches dying slaves in the darkness of a
shaded cove, he states: They were not enemies, they were not criminals, they were
nothing earthly now, nothing but black
7. How Cookie Is Better Than All The Others
It looks so simple, the irresistible smell of it when it comes right out of the oven.
However in just the first bite the taste of that warm, soft cookie dough with the sweet
chocolate chip makes the taste buds want more. The thickness, how soft, how it
presents itself, and most importantly the taste are all components that can be used to
determine which cookie is better than all the others. Each criterion that is being used
to evaluate the cookieswas chosen because each represents something that people
like about a cookie. People love getting as much of a cookie as they can in just one
bite. The thicker the cookie is, the more a person can have of that cookie without
finishing it in one bite. Each person likes their cookie to be in a different level of
softness. Some like it to be so soft that they can hardly feel the cookie while others
want it to be really crunchy. The appearance is what initially attracts the cookie to
the person. The cookie dough and the chocolate chips is what people look for when it
comes to the tasteof a cookie.
The regular toll house cookie is a cookie that was made from scratch. It happened to
be thin making it a real disappointment. It s always better to have a good bite in the
mouth, but it definitely compensated its appearance for its delicious taste. Out of all
the cookies it definitely had the most taste not only from all the chocolate chips but
from the cookie dough itself. The visible texture of the cookie wasn t very attractive

8. Credit Rating Agencies Essay
1.1 History of Credit Rating Agencies
Credit rating agencies (CRAs) have been playing a significant role in financial
markets around the world since the beginning of the twentieth century. The industry
of credit rating originated when John Moody, a Wall Street analyst and the institutor
of one of the biggest CRAs in present day, introduced a system of credit rating for
railroad bonds by publishing Moody s Manual of Industrial and Miscellaneous
Securities in 1909. Until today, there are now approximately 150 CRAs operating
around the world.
Despite the fact that CRAs are now a crucial element in financial markets, it has not
always been the case. There was an explanation that financial markets were well
operated prior to the existence of the CRAs in the United States. Since the early of the
seventeenth century, the Dutch Republic already had in place all fundamental
components of a modern financial system including securities markets, a banking
system, a central bank, a stable money and a strong public credit. Influenced by the
Dutch Republic, England also managed to have all such elements in the late
seventeenth century and subsequently, the United States had all components in the
last decade of the eighteenth century. It can be seen at that time that financial markets
were already functioned properly without the existence of CRAs because investors
had confidence in the governments that issued public bonds. Most investments in
Europe during the nineteenth century

With the original design created as a serif font, this image shows the array of
different styles one font can change into, including ornamental text design. The
special character traits of some of the letters gives this typeface a formal and
traditional style with an artistic flair of more ornamental design. I chose this font
as a representation because it holds many similar characteristics to Times New
Roman, which almost everyone is familiar with and/or has used. The letter Q
caught my attention, as well as the individual design of the numbers to accompany
the letters as shown by the 16 towards the middle of the image. Hoefler Co. is
consistently creating typefaces we use on a regular basis, and may not realize come
from such a large company. I feel that typeface is one of the least recognized areas of
design, which is ironic because without font styles, graphic design would almost be
non existent. So much of what is communicated is through letters or images that are
inspired by letters. Logos, word marks, symbols, and font all make up the world of
graphic design, and without companies like Hoefler Co. some of the most
recognizable companies would have a very different

In just one click, tap, or quick glance; and advertisement may be spotted. Many
appear on a billboard, in the papers, on a website, or just on an everyday household

Youtube videos. Product promotions tend to sell with facts, women, captivating
pictures, and celebrities. Celebrities who endorse brands or products boost previous
consumer confidence, consumer demographics or size, and the overall sells. The best
commercials with celebrityendorsements are usually funny, as they are more
memorable. Snickers used Betty Whitein one of the You re not you when you re
hungry campaigns. Old Spice also participated in the celebrity trend, using Terry
Crewsin many of the Smell is Power commercials. Even Neil Patrick Harris, a
comedian who starred in How I Met Your Mother, is partnered with the Heineken
beer commercials. There are also plenty of other celebrity endorsed products. Betty

Golden Girls, is a comedian and actress who has been in the business since the
1950s. In 2014 White was in a Snickers Superbowl ad. Within the commercial,
White was very roughly playing football and is tackled into some mud. Seeing an
older sarcastic lady thrown down into the dirt is not easily forgotten. The
commercial plays on the pathos in the appeals. Suggesting if viewers eat the

11. Change And Growth In Elie Wiesel
Change and Growth in Elie Wiesel
Napoleon Hill once said, Strength and growth come only from continuous effort and
struggle. This quote is rather true in not only reality, but also in books, for instance,
Night. Most of the time people grow most after experiencing a period of hardship or
difficulty. Elie Wiesels Night, expresses what it takes to survive and how it can
change a person. Night is the story of a young man who is split up with his mother
and sister and later placed in a concentration camp along with his father. Elie does
all he can in order to stay alive and strong. It was only when Elie survived months
of starvation and torture to which he soon found a change in himself. He
transformed from a young man, who no longer had faith in God, with intentions to
keep his father alive and well, even if it meant he had to make sacrifices, to a
grown man who eventually realized that survival is only reasonable if one fends
for oneself, in the hands of God. In the beginning of the book, Elie believed that he
no longer had faith, though he had been a compelling believer before. He also
reveals the strong relationship he had with his father, and because his father was
the only sense of family he had left, he did everything he could to keep his father
healthy and alive. In section three of the novel, Elie shows the first sign of loss of
faith, For the first time, I felt anger rising within me... why should I sanctify his
name... what was there to thank him for (Wiesel 33). He believed that the terrible
situation he was in, was to surely be blamed on God, due to the unanswered prayers
that Elie received. Elie displays the great relationship he possessed with his father in
section three as well, Men to the left... women to the right... eight words spoken
quietly, indifferently, without emotion... eight simple, short words... yet that was the
moment when I left my mother... we were alone (Wiesel 29). The quote
demonstrates the fact that Elie s family was literally split in half when his sister and
mother went to the right and he and his father stayed left. Elie only has his father, so
it makes sense for Elie to sacrifice everything for him. Later on in the story, Elie most
certainly shows a change. Though he had
12. Racism In Song Of Solomon
Racism has been a substantial part of the black culture for an abounding number of
years. Slavery ended only for another brutalized reality to come into fruition. White
people killed, lynched, castrated and raped black people with no hesitation or
remorse. Black people felt the abhor white people had for them. The system bigotry
pushed the victimized black peopleto edge to the point of wanting revenge and
risking their life for other.. Then, there were those black people who thought they
were above the cruelty and racism, they were so out of touch with themselves. In the
novel, Song of Solomon by Toni Morrison, the perspective of racism through the
eyes of three black men is a crucial part of their characterization and understanding
them as black men in the 1930 s.
Milkman, the main character, son of Macon Dead, friend of Guitar Bains and
great grandson of Solomon is in every way impacted by their thoughts whether he
knows it or not. Milkman is careless when it comes to the perception of racism. He
feels it doesn t affect him in any way because of who he is, but he doesn t even
know who he is as a man or as a black man. The name Guitar Bains plays a major
role in him as a character; a guitar is an instrument that has 6 strings, you manipulate
the strings and chords to get a sound. Guitar the character is just like the instrument,
he is easily manipulated and can be deceived into believing anything, especially
about the black people. Guitar Bains is the best friend of

My family has always been. Out there, so to speak. We never stayed in one place
for too long. Due to the bread winner of the family having a falling out with his
company, everyone was laid off. We moved a total of four or five times our whole
life, with a sixth move sometime soon. Pomona is the one city we ve lived in for
the longest time, it s been a decade last year. When we look at our home, it wasn t a
house at first, it was more like an abandoned garage with an extra room. An eight
year girl was forced to look at the atrocity that was the garage like house, and
instantly like it and claim it as if it was her own castle, but in a very disturbing
pink color. Mama and Papa, they thought that this house was the one, even though
it wasn t pretty. They would go off and say that, the walls will need to be pained
and we have to clean everything. Mama would go off and send me, my brother,
and sister to my Tia s house so we wouldn t bothered them, but I would just be on
the floor looking at the ceiling, rotating my head with the fan for hours, and hours.
I didn t have anyone to play with either. To be honest, I never had good enough
friends to try to call. Papa would go up to us and would say that this was for the best
and we have to keep moving on, well, he said it in Spanish, but you get the point. A
garage home for possibly my whole life. Help. I was a shy girl, I didn t have many
friends because I didn t like the same things as the rest. Like, music, shows, games
etc. I

January 28 29, 2014
Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke s meeting dealt mainly with the issues that
could stabilize the economy after the great recession. After creating a number of

Easing was a bit of a disappointment. The Fed will reduce its purchases of long term
Treasuries and mortgage backed securities by another $10 billion a month. Apart from
this, Fed is going to concentrate on maximizing employment rates, stabilizing prices
and interest rates.
According to Staff review of the Economic Situation for January 28 29, the economic
growth rate picked up in the second half of 2013. There was a gradual increase in the
total payroll employment and a decline in unemployment rate. Consumer price
inflation was still performing poorly than expected, while longer term inflation
expectations remained stable.

People Express Airlines: Rise and Decline
I guess the single predominant reason that I cared about starting a new company
was to try and develop a better way for people to work together . . . that s where the
name People Express came from. Most organizations believe that humans are
generally bad and you have to control them and watch them and make sure they
work. At People Express, people will be trusted to do a job until they prove they

The airline industry was viewed as a commodity business, but Burr saw a chance to
offer a better product to customers. (PE believed that customers, rather than
passengers, created a more appropriate mindset.) But taking advantage of
deregulation was not the only reason Burr wanted to start the company: greater,
perhaps, was his desire to build a better organization one that was both more
productive and more fun than what he considered to be typical in American business.
He was tired of the politics and the beat them and they ll do more management styles
he had seen all his professional life. He was tired of what he called the deadening
grind and lack of vision of T.I. s business style. He wanted to design a new kind of
airline, one that would provide both better and cheaper service, and be an exciting
and rewarding place to work. The focus of the company would be on people: hence
its name, People Express. From its inception, therefore, PE was seen as a chance
by Burr and his management team to experiment with and demonstrate a better way
of managing not just an airline, but any business. While Burr recognized his stance
was contrary to the majority of organizations in the United States, he rejected any
insinuation that he was optimistic or soft. I m not a goody two shoes person, I don t

Abstract Neural networks are used for forecasting. The purpose of any learning

With the help of the prediction model, we are predicting the future price of different

the model that we are building using neural networks. We are modelling our

19. Anyone Lived In A Pretty How Town Summary
In the poem, anyone lived in a pretty how town , author, E. E. Cummings
sometimes uses words in very unusual ways. Line 7, which says they sowed their
isn t they reaped their same is no exception (line 7). To start off we need to decipher
who the they Cummings is talking about in this line. The they Cummings is talking
about here is made known in line 5. Cummings points out that Women and men
(both little and small) are the they who sowed their isn t and the they that reaped
their same (line 5 7). If you think about line 7 from the farming standpoint you can
infer that sow could mean to plant something and reap could mean to harvest what
was planted. Now, let s talking about how they sowed their isn t (line 7). To sow
something, you have to have a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A seed is something a farmer places in the ground in hope of it sprouting and
becoming a plant. However, the seed isn t a plant just yet. Thinking about what
seed women and men sow this part of the line could possibly be actually talking
about children and how the women and the men sowed what doesn t exist quite yet
a child! Moving forward, to the next part (and back in the farming mindset), they
reaped their same (line 7). If you planted 7 tomato seeds you would expect 7 tomato
plants to grow, not 4 tomato plants and 3 cucumber plants. Here, the same logic can
apply. When the women and men plant their seeds (future children) and they
sprout(are born) they raise them and grow them together and they all grow up to be
the same uniform product. So in line 7 Cummings may be describing how in this
little town the women and the men have children who all grow up to be the exact
same, just like tiny little rows of tomatoes. In lines 19 20, Cummings states, they/said
their nevers they slept their
20. How Children Can Be A Blessing
Adoption So many children that were unwanted and neglected were helped by an
early foundation in New York. Each year people are having children and leave
them uncared for. Other loving parents or partners who are willing to take in an
unloved child and raise him or her as their own has to go through a long process in
order to qualify. Unfortunately, not all children find the loving comfort that they
need and are returned to the foster homes or are treated bad. Adopting children can
be a blessing, but not all children receive the love. Charles Loring Brace was the
son of two teachers and was born in the state of Connecticut. He only had one other
sibling, a sister. In the 1840s, he had graduated from Yale University and after he
was teaching for a while, he began his process to become a Catholic pastor. Later in
the late 1840s, Brace moved to New York and with a partner failed in a writing
publication. Their attention was on poverty and they had written how poor people
lived in the city. Because Brace and his partner had failed in their written project, they
turned their attention to homeless children. According to the Encyclopedia, Brace
had gone to Europe and when he returned to the United States he began an
organization to help children. He began to take in children who were abounded in the
streets. In the early of 1850s, Brace began the new organization called New York
Children s Aid Society. This Orphanage collected children throughout the rural

technological advances in medicine, the challenge of delivering quality healthcare to

Often times, the retail clinics are located near the patients homes and offer
unconventional office hours. Operating every day of the week, patients are usually
seen as walk ins with minimal wait times. Prescriptions can also be immediately
filled while they shop for grocery or personal care items in the drug store.
Moreover, the cost for the efficient quality care is relatively small compared to that
of visiting primary care physicians practices. A usual visit to the retail clinic can run
between forty to seventy dollars depending on the depth of the service. Convenience
care clinics that are purposely designed to be housed in retail stores with high traffic
volume have existed to accommodate the public s quest for convenience and wellness
(Hansen Turton et al., n.d.).
Although the retail clinics are fairly a new concept, the family nurse practitioners
strictly adhere to the profession s scope of practice and established protocols set

differs from state to state. This lack of consistency creates a hindrance to the fullest
potential that the NPs can practice in certain states. Regardless, all NPs in every
state are eligible for direct Medicaid reimbursement and Medicare Part B services
according to the 1997 Balanced Budget Act (Hansen Turton et al., n.d.). With or

24. The Equal Pay Act Essay
One problem that Americans are facing is the inequality between men and women,
whether it is in everyday life or in a professional atmosphere. One step that has been
taken toward equality was introduced with the Equal Pay Act of 1963, signed by
President John F. Kennedy. This law was the first affecting the amount of job
opportunities available for women and allowing them to work in traditionally male
dominated fields. On the outside, this would sound like a solution where nothing
could possibly go wrong, but it is not.
There are nearly as many women as there are men working, yet, as it was discovered
in 2011, on average, a woman will only earn seventy seven cents for every dollar
that a man earns. Women owned businesses make up for over a... Show more content

Feminism is a living word. There can never truly be a one set definition for the word
as the term has often shifted meanings to correspond to the time period. Feminists
fight for the rights that men have under the United States Constitution and to have the
right to not be discriminated against. Any action against any woman, intentional or
not, goes against the principles that many women and men stand for.
The quest for equal rights is usually put into two different waves: the first wave being
considered women s suffrage and the second being the equal right movement. One big
uprising in feminism happened alongside the abolitionist movement. Many women
started to realize that, as they were fighting to get African Americans out of their
version of perdition at the hands of their slave owners, that they themselves were
slaves to the will of the men in society. Since many women petitioned for antislavery,
the Congress in session at the time put forth the gag rule, which placed many of these
petitions off to the side for consideration.
The feminist movement that is more recognized was started by Betty Friedan. She
was the author of The Feminine Mystique, a book that called for many women to
enrich themselves from the unnamed problem that left

There are many burial sites which are associated with the Vikings all over Europe

meaning that they didn t bury in one universal style but in many other ways, the most
famous of those were digging graves in the ground, to their famous tumuli, and
sometimes it included ship burials. According to these written sources, most of their
funerals usually occurred at sea. Their funerals contained two ways it was either by
burialor cremation, this matter depended strongly on the local customs. In the area
that is now Sweden, cremations were the universal way of burying their dead;
whereas in Denmark burial was more common, by common I mean that they used to

26. Compare And Contrast Plato Vs Machiavelli
Plato vs. Machiavelli
A longstanding debate in human history is what to do with power and what is the
best way to rule. Who should have power, how should one rule, and what its
purpose should government serve have always been questions at the fore in
civilization, and more than once have sparked controversy and conflict. The
essential elements of rule have placed the human need for order and structure against
the human desire for freedom, and compromising between the two has never been
easy. It is a question that is still considered and argued to this day. However, the
argument has not rested solely with military powers or politicians, but philosophers
as well. Two prominent voices in this debate are Plato and Machiavelli, both... Show

The appetite is concerned with the pursuit of bodily pleasure. This aspect of the soul
is satisfied only by the creature comforts such as food, sex, and drink (167). These
three divisions are found in the individual, but in varying degrees. Some will lean
more towards the appetite, while other are spirit driven, and still others find greater
fulfillment through the intellectual pursuits of reason (168). Plato clearly favors the
reason in his three part soul, since it is with reason that one can grasp the Forms,
which themselves are the ultimate in beauty and truth.
To this end, the State, like the individual, has three parts that correspond to the parts
of the individual soul. The lowest of the parts is the appetite, which is comprised
of the common people. These would be craftsmen, laborers, and farmers who
perform the menial tasks essential to the functioning of the State. Those who make
up this part of the State are best left to their own devices, to enjoy and pursue
physical and material pleasures, because they are not capable of grasping the Forms.
The second tier, the spirit, would be comprised of soldiers. It is the soldiers who
have a slight understanding of the Forms, but not enough of one to allow reason to
dictate their actions. Soldiers fight to the death to defend the State because of their
emotional ties to it. In fact, Plato proposes that the government raise children,
27. The Australian Dollar Crisis
The setting of the exchange rate in Australia has shifted over time, from a pegged
fixed rate in 1976, to a managed flexible rate and finally in December of 1983
moved to a floating exchange rate whereby the value of the Australian dollar was
set by the market forces of demand and supply. The exchange rate is simply the
price of Australia s currency expressed in terms of another country s currency. This
essay will outline the ways in which initially a fixed rate and flexible peg were
determined, aswell as the impacts of domestic and international influences on the
value of the floated dollar.
Prior to November 1976, the Australian dollar was pegged against the UK pound
sterling, US dollar and the trade weighted index. In particular, the ... Show more

We observe appreciation within the Australian rate of exchange once an increase in
commodity prices occurs and an improvement in Australia s terms of trade. In 2008,
we observed commodity value indexes collapse, leading in successively to sharp
decreases within the Australian dollar. As commodity costs have surged once more,
this has caused farther appreciation of the Australian dollar. Lower inflation in
Australia is another catalyst for appreciation of the currency. Over the years, an
accrued demand for Australia s exported product and services has been indicative of
Appreciation. As a significant exporter of natural products, Australia s terms of trade
and future (long term) export performance are powerfully influenced by the costs of
these products. With these costs currently over thrice their value held at the
beginning of the resources boom in 2003, this has provoked speculative investment
within the Australian dollar. When there are expectations prevalent, that the currency
will appreciate based on speculation of the other changes in the domestic and global
economy, we are sure to see this causing an actual appreciation in the Australian
currency. Additionally Depreciation can be a consequence of a decrease in Australian
interest rates or increase in overseas interest rates. Depreciation will occur when there
is deterioration in investment opportunities in Australia or

In the late 1780 s, France was in a difficult time period. They were heavily in debt
and the king, Louis XVI and Antoinette went bankrupt because they spent all of the
money on themselves instead of trying to help the people in the town. Since there
wasn t that much money, people had to pay more taxes. Only we, the commoners,
had to pay the taxes and not the wealthy people, making the poor poorer and the
rich richer. The meeting of the Estates General was called by the King because
France was going through a financial crisis. In this meeting the estates tried to come

clergy, the nobles, and the commoners. To decide, the estates used voting by order

Boston believed that standardization has to be seen in the context of something that
is gained. (Glaser, p.33). There were many projects going on that didn t benefit the
business and needed to be put on pause. Boston s highest priorities were to upgrade
the Oracle ERP system, develop a single, master customer database and establish an
enterprise reporting and BI solution. (Case study, p. 5). First, the upgrade would
impact all the other systems that were added on and it needed to be done very
carefully and strategically. Culture was a problem. The IT funding model needed to
change because managers were used to doing what they wanted as far as what
technology they were implementing. If they were going to standardize cross
functionally, then they had to stop creating customized tools. Boston decided that the
business units would no longer be in control of their own destinies and instead each
needed to contribute resources to the larger good of the organization. (Case study, p.

would do whatever the business unit asked. Boston s solution was to break down the
allocation into three categories: infrastructure, application development and direct
charge items. Corporate IT would control the infrastructure, keeping the business
units in control of application development and direct charge funds. (Case study, p.

31. Analysis Of The Community Is Anomic, By Kirst Ashman
Watts Community is anomic, According to Kirst Ashman (2014) anomic refers to a

anomic community has not or does not take advantage of outside linkages; there is
no sense of belonging to the community. Some conditions that illustrate the Watts
neighborhood is anomic are the residentsof the communitylive in fear and do not trust

unemployment, and lack of financial resources for education. Also, the community
was alienated and isolated from interacting with other sections of the city. They lived
in poor housing conditions. Gangs, guns, crime, destruction, and drugs surrounded
the neighborhood. There was no investment in the schools or the children of the
community. The community was not in harmony with each other. Through
stratification, political discrimination occurred, based on their wealth and social,
economic status. Residents of the city lacked purpose which brought on depression.
There is no identity among the citizens. Oppression, discrimination, and unjust
treatment are just a few issues that plagued the community. Researchers Williams and

overwhelms an individual ability to cope with stressors and life events. African
Americans suffered from multiple injuries as a result of slavery, racism, and

When these laws are passed, producers are burdened with rules and regulations that
they must follow. For example, it could be involving the slaughter, transportation,
or shelter the livestock is housed in. The law could require a certain amount of
square footage or acreage per a selected number of livestock. Next the middleman
is affected. The middleman could be anyone from a grocery store owner to an
owner of a store that sells things that use animal products. Usually the laws require
farmers to use a more expensive route to caring for an animal thus the farmer has
to raise his or her prices when selling the animal or product. The grocery store
owner then would have to pay more for the animal products he is purchasing, but
he would also be able to advertise depending on the product that his products were
organic, antibiotic free, or free of animal testing. This could both benefit or
drawback his business depending on the consumers in the area. The consumer is the
final group to be affected by animal welfare acts. There are both positive and
negatives to the consumer side. The positives to the consumer side is that they can
take advantage of antibiotic free, organic, animal testing free and other specialized
products. If consumers are conscious of what they are putting in and on their bodies
they would appreciate the choices these laws allow them. The

35. Difference Between Pharmacy And Clinical Pharmacy
Retail vs. Clinical Pharmacy
Options abound in the field of pharmacy. Two popular paths in pharmacy are clinical
(or hospital) pharmacy and retail (or community) pharmacy. Retail pharmacists work
either at a pharmacy in a store or at an independently owned pharmacy, while clinical
pharmacists work directly with physicians and patients in a hospital or other health
care facility ( What Pharmacists Do ). Both clinical and retail pharmacy jobs have
their specific benefits and drawbacks, but retail pharmacy is more advantageous to a
recent pharmacy graduate pursuing this career.
Retail pharmacy involves less stress than clinical pharmacy. In retail, the pharmacist s
main task is issuing medication to customers ( What Pharmacists Do ). They stock
and label medications, fill prescriptions, direct customers about the use of the drugs,
give them general medical advice, and answer questions they might have about over
the counter medicine ( What Pharmacists Do ). Likewise, clinical pharmacists work
with customers, which are in this case the patients, but they also interact personally
with doctors; in the hospital, some pharmacists may even go on patient rounds with
them ( What Pharmacists Do ). Clinical pharmacy entails consulting with doctors
about medications and recommending a course of action, not just filling
prescriptions ( What Pharmacists Do ). Both clinical and retail pharmacy jobs
require patience and a love for helping people, but a clinical position may be more
stressful

37. Why Are The American Colonists Considered A Loyalists
During the American Revolution, the American colonists had to decide to support the
War for Independence or remain loyal to the British and King George III. Some
Americans could not decide which side to choose and remained neutral during the
war. Most American colonists, however, did choose sides. Those who supported
independence from Britain were known as Patriots. Colonists who opposed
independence from Britain were known as Loyalists. Most Patriots supported
independence because they felt that recent British laws on the American Colonies
violated their rights as British citizens. This included taxing without consent,
quartering soldiers in citizens homes, and denying colonists the right to a trial. Most
Loyalists who opposed independence tended to be wealthy landowners, clergymen, or
people with business or political ties to Britain. Some believed that the British
government had the right to ask the colonies to pay half the cost of their own defense.

women can choose from, because of the brutality of some of these methods certain

An abortion is a common practice that may be performed for several reasons, all
sharing the same end result, the termination of an unwanted pregnancy. There are
many different types of abortion in today s society. The first type of abortion is a
chemical abortion which can be taken up to 10 weeks after the first day a woman s

Why did we trade in our ceremonial lives for the workplace? Is this a natural

Gretel Ehrlich asks these deep questions in her short informative essay Chronicles of
Ice (2004). Ehrlich tells of her travels to The World Heritage glacierPerito Moreno,
Argentina. In this short narrative, the author uses pathos and strong human related
metaphors, to relay the direct correlation between glaciers and the well being of Earth

due to the fact that humans cannot live without freshwater. The author uses the

43. The Value Of Effective Supplement Rules For The
American...
In recent years, there have been firm campaigns in support of the value of effective
supplement rules for the American society. The US mainstream media and the public
health authority are responsible for the implementation of such policies. The
justifying reason for this approach is the inadequate formal testing of the safety and
efficacy of various products. In fact, this leads to the inadequate consumption of
vitamins, which poses significant threats to public health. However, approval of
different supplements by the FDA is a proper strategy to curb the danger posed to
the public. In this case, the products are safer for use by the citizens (Rosen, 2015).
In the US, politics have taken control of the development and enactment of these
policies. As a result, the business aspect has taken control of the narrative the amount
of supplements consumed. Therefore, people believe that there is a need for specific
directives on the use of vitamin supplements. This can be a great move to improve
supplement policies to ensure the safety of the communities (users). Moreover, some
of the food supplements contain constituents, which need a prescription before they
can be safely used. Thus, vitamin regulation is necessary for healthier lives.
Rosen reports that the regulated nutritional supplements are safer than the use of over
the counter drugs. Nevertheless, inadequate vitamin supplements would lead to
several health issues. The side effects associated with under and over consumption

Rice
The Vampire Lestat, the second book in The Vampire Chronicles, is a dark
romantic novel written by Anne Rice. It is an autobiographical story told by Lestat
de Lioncourt as a response to Interview with the Vampire. He wrote it in hopes that
Louis would read it and return to him and as an act of rebellion against vampire
secrecy rules. Much like Interview with the Vampire, The Vampire Lestat also
questions the vampire s role in religion. In The Vampire Lestat, Rice challenges the
concept of religion with the Children of Darkness.
The Children of Darkness were bound together by the Dark Ways. They believed if
they failed to follow the Dark Ways, then they would burn in hell. They lived
miserable lives underneath a cemetery in Paris, where they worshiped Satan. When
an old woman threatened Lestat and Gabrielle with the wrath of God, Lestat told
the vampires the only beings giving them trouble for the way they lived were the
coven. They were paralyzed for a moment. Why hadn t we been struck dead when
we entered the churches? How could we be what we were? (214). The Children of
Darkness were in shock because Lestat s statement challenged the information they
knew as true. God or Satan had not taken action as they believed, and they began to
doubt their faith. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

their immortal lives in terrible conditions. The Dark Ways had been forbidden the
experiences of immortality and instead lived like corpses under a
