Why Is Lying Unjustified
Lying, it s everywhere. Almost 60% of most adults can t go ten minutes without telling a lie. Some
people lie to protect other people, while others lie to benefit themselves like maintaining the perfect
image they care so much about. However, lying is completely unjustified unless you re protecting
yourself or someone else from danger. This idea can be further proven with evidence from a variety of
articles.
To begin, many people believe that lying is unjustified, like German philosopher Immanuel Kant.
Although, people agree with this statement, others may disagree. However, some people believe that
...lying is stressful and hurts relationships. (Ballinger 5). This proves that lying is unjustified because
if you chose to tell the truth it wouldn t be stressful; and also it wouldn t hurt relationships. Another
example within the text states, Delivering the truth is easier, takes less time, and is less stressful.
(Ballinger 5). This shows how if we tell the truth it s easier, and it s less time consuming. Furthermore,
when you lie sometimes you have to rack your brain to remember what you lied about. In addition,
when you lie you lose people s trust. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People like Brad Blanton believe this claim. For instance, sixty four year old Harold Smith lied to his
adult daughter about a tumor, he said, I tried to protect her. (NBCNEWS.com 3). Smith said that he
didn t want to get his daughter traumatized, he then said that it slowed down her anxiety. A piece of
evidence within the text states that it s ... OK to lie in certain situations, like protecting someone s
feelings. (NBCNEWS.com 2). This further demonstrates that many people believe lying is only
justified when protecting people. These examples shows how people use lying to protect

Brown Vs Board Of Education
Yesterday my best friend, Brandon, and I went to the library located on Savannah State s campus to
study for our upcoming final exam. Even though Brandon is a Caucasian, people don t have a negative
outlook on our relationship just because I am an African American. It doesn t make much of a
difference to society when we are seen together, considering America symbolizes unity. Must I remind
you, it hasn t always been this way in America. in fact, Whites and Blacks weren t allowed to attend
the same school, let alone the same water fountain because of segregation. to many people this
situation was looked upon as ridiculous. Why should a person s skin tone determine where they should
be allowed to go? I shouldn t. This was going on way too long without anything being done about it.
Finally someone decided to take the problem to a new extent to bring about change. Brown vs Board
of education is one case that still has great significance in history. Not only did it have a huge effect on
segregation, but America as well would not be the same. My surroundings would totally change if this
case had not been established. Brandon would not be my best friend, and sadly without the
desegregation in schools, we would have never crossed paths. Oliver Brown stood as the
representative plaintiff in the case Brown vs. Borad of Education. He felt so strong about segregated
schools, becuase his daughter was denied entrance of a white school located in Topeka Kansas.

1. Signs and symptoms of some common childhood illnesses:
Chicken pox Chickenpox is a mild and common childhood illness that most children catch at some
point. It causes a rash of red, itchy spots that turn into fluid filled blisters. They then crust over to form

Nativism Essay
Nativism
All so called Native Americans, were once immigrants. There were two waves of immigration
between the early 1800 s through the early 1900 s. The first wave of immigrants called the old
immigrants came to America between 1890 1897. They were primarily from Northern Europe: Great
Britain, Germany, and Scandinavia. The second wave of immigrants called the new immigrants came
to America from 1897 1924. The new immigrants primarily came from Southern and Eastern Europe
countries such as Poland, Russia, and Italy. Nativist parties, like the Know Nothings and the Order of
the Star Spangled Banner verbalized their distaste and disapproval of immigrants. Actions and

The majority of the Anglo Saxon, Protestant population feared the incoming Catholicism and Judaism.
Many Irish immigrants were becoming active in urban politics, and being Roman Catholic, many
native Americans feared that the Church of Rome was gaining a foothold in American government.
With the constant flow of immigrants coming into the country, nativists during this time period began
coming up with strategies to stop these people from entering the country.
There were multiple regulations passes between 1880 and 1925 which regulated the number of
immigrants entering the country. In 1882, the Immigration Act only allowed for people of good stock
to enter the country. This act passed by Congress provided for the examination of immigrants and for
the exclusion from the U.S. of convicts, prostitutes, persons suffering from diseases, and persons
liable to become public charges. This act, along with the Chinese Exclusion Act, which disallowed
immigrants from China to enter the country, was responsible for a precipitous decline in immigration.
In 1885, The Alien Contract Labor Laws were created. They prohibited the immigration to the U.S. of
persons entering the country to work under contracts made before their arrival. In 1887 the American
Protective Association was created by Henry Bowers. It was a radical group that created conspiracy

Osmosis And Hypertonic Mixtures
3. Conclusions based on the data collected:
Based on the data collected from the the various mixtures of sucrose, it was noted that the different
substances varied in concentration. In this lab the students were able to distinguish water potential in
both hypotonic and hypertonic mixtures. It was perceived that the solution with the highest sucrose
concentration was the purple mixture in contrast the blue mixture was at equilibrium, it was at zero.
As the lab proceed and data was collected it was observed that the dialysis tube which contained the
blue solution had an equivalent amount of molarity as the water that was in the beaker, to reference
zero morality or equalibrum.

When the different dialysis tubes with different substances were placed in water, diffusion took place;
this is when the particles moved from a high concentration region to a low concentration region.
Osmosis is the act of moving through a semipermeable membrane. Therefore the lab required a
semipermeable membrane; however a semipermeable membrane is only found in cells so students
used dialysis tubes. The dialysis tubes used, allowed the substance within to flow outside of the tube,
essentially working as a semipermeable membrane. The osmolarity for the substances were different,
the osmolarity can be determined by the amount of solute particles in a liter or per liter. In the lab
there was one isotonic solution this was the blue solution. The mixture was isotonic because both the
solution outside of the tube and inside of the tube had the same amount of concentration. During this
lab both hypotonic and hypertonic solutions were observed. Hypotonic is when the osmotic pressure is
lower than the fluid. Hypertonic is when the osmotic pressure is higher than the fluid. The students
were able to observe this with the different color

The Effects Of Social Media On Our Lives
There are so many things that go on in this world, with this in mind think about how everyone gets
their information; Media. The world is surrounded by people walking in the streets on their phones,
sitting at a restaurant on their phones, even at work on their phones, do you see the problem? There
are so many things that happen on a daily basis, but there are only a few people that can go thought
the day without their phones. Phones are the next generation baby sitters. With news at our fingertips
the speed at which news gets around is so shocking. Social media is how people get their information
and strive through the day, but when is it too much. From the invention of a cell phone to now, there
have been so many advances. With the new technology advance, there comes the people that have to
have the best of the best, which increases the amount of time one is on their phone. With news giving
people facts and the truth with a little bit of bias, there is a point that they are trying to get out. Then
on the other side to that you have the mass media that alters the truth which has a lot of people that
influence the facts. The media is a huge way for people to communicate and when they do they things
they say are written and can be altered which in some cases is not the best. With there being so many
different types of apps and what not there are tons of places for people to get information, sometimes

Voter Capabilities
INTRODUCTION
Citizens, politicians, and officials have been in heated debates on whether Americans are capable of
handling their responsibilities that are given just for being a citizen. Voting is a personal choice for
Americans. The fears of losing rights and freedom have been present for many decades and centuries.
Everybody is concerned that citizens may not be as free as they once were. People fought hard to
make every American citizen free. Citizens who complain that our government is not perfect and is
not doing well for the United States are people who usually do not even vote. One vote can make a
difference. Citizens are extremely concerned with our rights and freedom, but do not even attempt to
make a change. Citizens are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Citizens are not always informed when they go to the voting booth and mark their candidate. If the
democratic system depended solely on the qualifications of the individual voter, then it seems
remarkable that democracies have survived through the centuries (Barleson, Lazarfeld, McPhee; p
209). Every voter may be qualified, but the voter can still lack information. Barleson, Lazerfeld, and
McPhee recognize that individuals do not meet the standards that Political politicians necessarily
agree with.
Evidence based Argument
Voters do not have enough information to make educated votes that are best for this country.
Americans will sit around and complain about the Democracy, but attempt to do nothing about it.
Numbers speak for themselves; if every citizen that complained about the Democracy voted, there
would be a change in the world. Every vote counts in America and everybody has a voice. One cannot
stress how important it is to gain information about current politics. Information is found everywhere.
Information can be found online, on television, in articles, and in books. Reading a little bit can go a
long way.
Americans need to take the time to find information and their rights would be safer. Americans are
entitled to rights and freedom, so they give up the responsibilities. Americans are dependent of others;
they want others to make the right decision. Every citizen is responsible for them and will not always
agree on the same decisions

All people have a particular idea of themselves. The idea of who they are and who they are not. The
way people lead an everyday life within an environment and interactions with other human beings
make them feel closer connected to some groups of people and different from others. How feeling
similarity and difference in society affects ability to attain a positive sense of self and meaning are an
important questions within psychology. Theory of social identity constructed by Tajfel and
psychosocial theory of identity created by Erik Erikson are two of theories which give answer to this
question.
Tajfel and Erikson(ref) defined identity as two dimensional, containing personal and social part. Both
believed that to evolve identity people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Experiment showed that students felt inmediately identified with ingrouppers and cosider
outgrouppers as concurrency. Tajfel explained that only knowing u are part of group without intention
to be in group or gaining something is enough for people to feel diversity which leads to
discriminating of outgroup and prioritizing ingroup in order to highlight group s status. Tajfel showed
how membership of group can make us see differences and get to know who we are and where we
belong to by commiting to rules of group. The final stage is comparing own group with other ones. If
there is chance of changing identity people tend to move from lower valuated to higher valuated group
for example work position.
If there is no chance of changing identity due it was given to us race gender etc and people feel their
group is devaluated they can take an action. People try to creatively highlight positive characteristics
of ingroup comparing to other groups.
.
Erikson concentrated on personal part and argued that uniqueness of individual is major for evolvment
of identity.Eriksons psychosocial theory focus on process of shaping identity within individuals rather
than within society. according to erikson building and achieving of identity is a life long process of
self discovering during which evolving of identity is achieved. Erikson believes during this

The Pros And Cons Of The War On Terrorism
Fighting fire with fire, or in this case, fighting terrorism with terrorism. This, simply put, is what many
believe to be the solution to terrorism a War on Terror. NATO is well known for being one of the
largest and strongest organizations or military alliances in which participating states agree to mutual
defense in any event of an external attack. Since the attack of 9/11, NATO, with the lead of the U.S.,
has been determined to eradicate each and every single terrorist group or any form of terrorism. Over
the years, these motivations have sparked countless controversial issues as ethics of this war became
increasingly questionable. Although many may support this concept of a War on Terror , it is simply,
without question, economically damaging, misleading, and a hopeless attempt to solve the issue of
terrorism.
In 2011, expenses for the War on Terror were reported by the Pentagon to be about $1 trillion.
However, when experts carefully analyzed the data and expenses, they had discovered hidden costs
that were left unmentioned by the Pentagon, creating a new total of approximately $4.4 trillion. To put
this into perspective, $4.4 trillion is over a fifth of the total U.S. tax revenue from 2001 2011 (about
$21 trillion). If just $1 billion in education spending adds $1.3 billion to the economy and creates
17,687 jobs, imagine the benefits from the thousands of billions of dollars that are used to support the
War on Terror. As a result, many jobs and economic

Ang Lee s Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon Essay
Ang Lee s Crouching tiger Hidden Dragon is probably one of the most successful foreign films to ever
be screened in America. Being the number one film of the year in 2000. On the other hand it was
reportedly considered a flop in China. While it was influenced by American film styles, it still kept
true to many aspects of its Chinese film heritage. With very apparent love story, it lacked the Extreme
amount of Kung Fu fight scenes eastern audiences have come to enjoy. This is a stunning love story
between a monk and widow. While it does have its share of over the top fight scenes, when you start
to dig deeper the films many social implications become apparent. With ties to subjects such as
religion, martial arts, philosophy, love, and even gender issues. This film is a representation of the
modern era and how long practiced traditions are being challenged. Each character and plot line
allows a glimpse into the Social and Traditional understanding of a culture.
Each character in the film represents some type of Social structure in China. Focusing on Li Mubai,
Yu Shu Lien, and Jen Yu, you are able to get a sense of the social and ethical ideals of each class.
Begging with Li Mubai, who embodies the stereotypical monk . He is always proper and resilient to
negative influences. He spends the greater part of his life studying Kung Fu, and is the master of the
Wu Dong clan. He is arguably the strongest character in this movie. He is the embodiment of restraint.

Disability is a definition of a physical or mental condition which impacts on a person s movements,

How Did Adrienne Rich Claim My Education

Education is a responsibility she remarked, Responsibility to yourself means that you don t fall for

Princess Andromeda Research Paper
My Favorite Constellation Andromeda
The Andromeda Constellation is located in the northern hemisphere, it can be seen at latitudes
between +90°and 40° and is best visible at 9 p.m. during the month of November. The constellation is,
also, home to the Andromeda Galaxy, that resides 2,5 light years from earth. This constellation is
beyond complex, for the myth that names it, as well for being next doors neighbors with it s galaxy,
thus my interest in it.
The constellation was named after Princess Andromeda, also known as The Chained Woman wich is,
too, the nickname of the own constellation . Andromeda was known for her beauty, and her mom one
day claimed that she was even more beautiful then the Nereids, a particularly alluring group of sea
nymphs. The Nereids were outraged by the affirmation and decided to ask Poseidon, the God of The
Seas to give her a lesson. Poseidon then send a monster to destroy Andomedra s father s territory, and
Andomedra decided to sacrifice herself to pay for the sins of her mother, and then was given chained
to Poseidon to die. The story goes on, and it ends with Perseus the son of Poseidon saving her, but that

The Metaphors Of Characters In King Lear By William...
Good my lord,
You have begot me, bred me, loved me.
I return those duties back as are right fit:
Obey you, love you, and most honor you.
Why have my sisters husbands if they say
They love you all? Happy, when I shall wed,
That lord whose hand must take my plight shall carry
Half my love with him, half my care and duty.
Sure, I shall never marry like my sisters,
To love my father all.
(1.1.95 103)
This quote is coming from Cordelia in the first scene of the first act. Lear has just called his three
daughters in and is dividing up his kingdom. The daughters are telling Lear how much they love him
in order to influence the decision on dividing the kingdom. Regan and Goneril both lie and say that
they love him more than words can express but Cordelia doesn t lie and tells the truth. In this quote,
she says, Lear you have raised me and loved me and I m returning the favor. I love you just as I
should, I obey you, I love you and I honor you. Hopefully, when I get married I will give you my
husband and half of my love. This quote is showing that in King Lear, Shakespeare uses characters to
represent something greater. In the story, there are a few main characters that are big metaphors one
being King Lear representing madness and insanity. A second being Goneril representing greed and
lastly, Gloucester used to show the metaphors of people not opening their eyes to what s actually
going on. All these metaphors have an important lesson to them that can be applied into the

years. Phillips Curve helps in analyzing the relationship in the middle of inflation and unemployment.
There is a non relative negative relationship in the middle of inflation and unemployment (if
unemployment is decreased than there is a rising value level in the economy). There is a long run and
easygoing relationship in the middle of inflation and unemployment over the above mentioned period
in Pakistan. There is a momentary relationship (stuns) in the short run, while there is a lasting
relationship (stuns) over the long run. By taking a look at the relationship built, one can estimate for
next 10 years, that there will be a reverse relationship between both variables. This paper records an
inflation insignificantly influences GDP and unemployment and the correlation is negative, exact
confirmation for the presence of the Phillips Curve in Pakistan i.e., inflation has reduced
unemployment.
Keywords: Phillips curve, Granger causality, Impulse response function, Pakistan, monetary
Introduction
For progressive governments in Pakistan poverty remains as a solitary principle test like other creating
and immature nations. Right away, legislative and certain non administrative association have
evaluated more than quarter of Pakistani population living under poverty line. As indicated by Human

Canis Lupus Living Conditions
Canis Lupus is the most distributed land mammal, prior to human transport (Mech and Boitani
2003/2010). This has led to their extant to span 70 countries and four continents; although in some
regions they are completely extinct. These regions include Japan, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Ireland,
Luxembourg, Netherlands, Switzerland, United Kingdom although there are very few individuals in
Austria and Switzerland, and Bangladesh. They dwell primarily in wilderness and remote areas with
the largest concentrations of their numbers congregating in northern regions living predominantly in
Canada and Russia (Harrington and Paquet 1982). The living conditions of Canis Lupus are widely
varied with some inhabitants living in forests, prairies, tundra,

The Sun God And Hercules Masculinity In Hamlet
Due to the death of his father and the remarriage of his mother, Hamlet must now be subservient to his
Uncle Claudius, for whom he has no respect. In his soliloquy, Hamlet contrasts his late father with his
uncle like a Hyperion to a satyr, [...] My father s brother, but no more like my father than I to Hercules
(1.2.140 153). To Hamlet, both Hyperion (the Sun God) and Hercules (a demigod) represent the
epitome of strength. In the case of Hercules, he embodies the patriarchal ideal of masculinity violent,
dominant, and immortal. He promotes the image that men should be unfeeling, undoubting, and all
action and no words. This is the unattainable standard of masculinity that men in Hamlet s society is
subject to, since in order to be a Real Man , that would require him to to become a God. ... Show more

Instead of being bold and brash, he is thoughtful, sensitive, and emotional, which are typically traits
reserved for women. As a result, the way that others perceive his mental instability is derived from
how much he falls short of male social expectations. His exhibition of emotions deemed unfit for men,
such as pain and vulnerability, identifies him as a social outlier. This vulnerability is triggered by the
sudden death of his father, which he vocalizes at his uncle s coronation. Hamlet complains that he
wished the Everlasting had not fixed/ His canon gainst self slaughter! (1.2.131 132). In this scenario,
death equates inaction, since Hamlet cannot do anything if he kills himself. This contrasts the male
social expectations placed upon him, since he is expected to act on his father s behalf by taking
revenge on his enemies and inflicting outward damage. However, Hamlet chooses to direct his
frustrations inward, reflecting on his actions in long soliloquies and thinking about self harm and

The Importance Of Child Labor Rights
Human rights activists who made a difference
What does it mean to make a difference? Does it mean to change the world forever or just for periods
of time? Whatever it means, Mother Jones, Cesar Chavez and Malala yousafzai changed the world
forever. Mother Jones s mission was to get child labor rights. Cesar s mission was to get sustainable
working conditions for all farmers. Lastly, Malala s mission has been to get education for women
globally. These three people had different methods of fighting for the necessity of human rights;
however, they all had the common goal of persevering until the rights were achieved.
Mother Jones worked hard and had a very unique method for getting child labor rights. She led a
march across a copious amount ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Just like Mother Jones, Cesar was ardent about getting farm workers rights, except for the fact that
Cesar had to wait 5 years longer than Mother Jones. In addition to this, Cesar Chavez led the UFW
union to get unprecedented gains that made farmer s working conditions better( Chavez Foundation).
Leader Cesar went great lengths to get these rights. He was determined enough to get a group of
people to support his cause. Furthermore, Cesar influenced people who supported his cause to boycott
grapes and other products produced by farm workers (Cesar Foundation). Although Cesar didn t tell
the people to commence boycotting, he still influenced them enough to do it anyway. Cesar s patience,
perseverance and being a role model to the public is what made him attain the rights that farm workers
desired. This leader is very inspirational and so is 15 year old Malala Yousafzai.
Malala Yousafzai uses social media and global speeches as her methods to fight for women s
educational rights. According to Kettler, Malala used blogging to get the word out about her education
rights. Afraid is not a word to describe Malala, she let people around the world know that she wants
educational rights. Moreover, Malala used her Nobel Peace Prize speech to talk about the right that
which everyone has to an education (Kettler). Young activist Malala receiving this reward and using it

Clever s Newspaper Article Summary
Clever s Newspaper article opens with the common stereotype of someone who has a heart attack, a
middle aged workaholic man who is a little paunchy. Little do some know, heart disease isn t just a
man s disease. More than one in five women have a form of heart or blood disease. When a woman
reaches the age of 65, there is a one in three chance she will develop cardiovascular disease. The main
argument of the article, said by Dr. Ted E. Garrett a cardiothoracic surgeon at the St. Louis Heart
Institute, is that heart disease kills more women than all types of cancer, accidents, and diabetes
combined. In the news article, the main point is that heart disease isn t just a man s disease. Symptoms
of heart disease in women are different than in men, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the disease. My argument is well supported by this newspaper article because it does prove heart

can be done to prevent the startling

The Underlying Metaphysical Aspect Of The Songs
The Who have always produced ground breaking, powerful songs. From youth inspired My
Generation to the ever popular and movie producing, Tommy, audiences have been singing their songs
with quiet determination and revelry. This band did not stick to one style, as they grew older, their
music evolved. At the age of 70, both Pete Townshend and Roger Daltry are still rocking out to
thousands. Though the band went through break ups and loss of members, they will always be known
as one of the greatest rock bands of all time. In 1967 Pete became a follower of the Indian avatar
Meher Baba which inspired him to write the song, Bargain. Although released on the album, Who s
Next, was not even considered at top 20. The hits off of the album included songs like Baba O Riley
and See Me, Feel Me which were all written with a basic message about enlightenment.
The underlying metaphysical aspect of the songs is knowing that Townshend was a follower of Meher
Baba. The audiences trusts him as his sings about his struggle to find the spirituality he is so willing to
do anything for. I d gladly lose me to find you.. I d gladly give up all I had .... To find you I d suffer
anything and be glad these first lines makes use of epimone for emphasis. The purpose epimone in a
song by using frequent words, such as gladly, glad is to give a base for his intention to be true to what
he wants. Otherwise it would not be as effective. He is consistently using the same words

Does Reflexology Help You Drop Off At Night
If you have issues dropping off at night, you could be ready to try anything. Most likely though, you
would prefer to use an alternative cure, instead of trying over the counter or prescription sleeping aids.
By utilizing an alternative method to going to sleep, you won t have to worry about any complications,
or getting dependent on a sleeping pill. They might not be considered mainstream ideas, but if they
work for you, then it s worth it! These are some great homeopathic things you can try to help you drop
off to sleep at night. Try using reflexology. When it comes to reflexology, each part of your body is
reflected on your hands and your feet. By massaging these places, or having someone else do it for
you, it can often help you prepare for sleep, and help you get beat. It will also de stress, so that s
another good reason to try it. Due to both these, it will help you go to ... Show more content on

Lavender will help you relax, which may in turn help you go to sleep less complicated and faster.
There are plenty of different ways that you can use lavender. You can buy a lotion and massage it into
your skin before heading off to bed. Another way is to buy lavender oil, and either put some in a bath
or on your pillow. You may also try lavender tea, which should also promote relaxation and go to sleep
earlier. Make sure you get sufficient magnesium in your diet. Magnesium is a natural sedative, and
will help you to get exhausted and wish to fall asleep. If you don t eat enough foods during the day
with magnesium in them, you will not be knackered at night. You can try eating foods such as
almonds, cashews, whole grains, legumes, or dark leafy plants to get more magnesium into your diet.
Try meditation. When you meditate, you receive multiple benefits. One is that you become more
relaxed. Another is that people who meditate have more melatonin in their bodies. Melatonin helps
promote a calm, relaxing, deep sleep, so meditation could help you in one or two different

Juliet s Growth Since the Start of William Shakespeare s...
Juliet s Growth Since the Start of William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet The play Romeo and Juliet
was written in approximately 1595, by William Shakespeare. It is set in Venice, Italy, in Venetian
society women played little role in anything other than to be a wife to their husband and a mother.
This is why many Venetian women married at such an early age. The play is about 2 families whom
are separated by a long forgotten ancient feud. Throughout the play of Romeo and Juliet we see Juliet
emerging as a woman. There are many people that influence this growth. However there are also many
people which inhibit and even try to prevent her from growing from a child into a woman. Romeo

In this scene we see Juliet as a very naïve character, and in a later scene we see the complete antithesis
of her character, where she is no longer a naïve young girl, who does everything her parents command
her to do. We see her as an independent and sophisticated married woman. Act 1 Scene 5 is the scene
set at the party at the Capulet s household. Juliet s mother introduces her to the County Paris, but
before that, she sets eyes on Romeo, of the House of Montague. Romeo is not aware the Juliet is from
the house of Capulet, he thinks she is exceptionally beautiful. He describes her as a snowy dove,
trooping with crows , the dove symbolises purity, peace and is associated with the colour white,
however crows symbolise hatred and are usually associated with the colour black. This can be linked
to the theme of the feud which exists between the two households, Juliet is pure, but the rest of her
house is filled with hatred and distrust. We then see Juliet s first move to disobey her mother, she
leaves the hall of the ball with Romeo. We see the beginning of Juliet s journey from a child into an
independent woman. We are also made aware of her emerging sexuality. Romeo uses an extended
metaphor in an attempt to get Juliet to kiss him; he describes her as a saintly being and himself as a
sinner who needs his sins cleansing. Juliet knows

Discrimination In The Movie Bullies
Think of how different the world would be if we did not accept other s views. How would that affect
us? Three creators thought about this topic and show how the world could be. They showed different
situations through a movie, an article, and a court hearing. Without accepting other views violence and
discrimination would be inevitable and could cause much worse problems. Today acceptance of views
is practiced by a large majority of the population around the world. Opinions on people or objects
should not be dependent on beliefs or contrast of views is a recurring message.
Throughout the film Bullied directed by Bill Brummel, Jamie came out as a homosexual and the other
boys did not like that. They physically hurt him by hitting, kicking and even peeing on him just
because he was different. Many classmates at Ashland Middle School saw him as gay that was enough
for some campus bullies (1:54 2:03). This statement shows the discrimination against Jamie just on
the fact that he is different. Jamie was against the bullies because they ridiculed him. The bullies were
against Jamie because he was gay. I just know that it hurt a lot to hear those words every day (2:11
2:13) said Jamie about being bullied every day. The quote by Jamie shows the difficult times and
feelings not only him but all people can accumulate if discriminated against. By the end of the story,
Jamie defended himself by putting a lawsuit, which he won, on the school system for failure to oblige
to complaints from Jamie and his family. This film can show what some people go through in life
without acceptance of differences. Again implying the severe importance of acceptance of differences.
In the article Towards a True Refuge the author, Aung San Suu Kyi discusses problems we have we
discrimination and how that affects immigration and communications with other countries. The
greatest threats to global security today come not from the economic deficiencies of the poorest
nations but from religious, racial (or tribal) and political dissensions (lines 4 6). Aung San Suu Kyi
wrote this statement to say global security is merely a fear of differences in cultures. The nation is
against immigrants and others because they did not feel safe around

1. Reread what chapter two has to say about the importance of history and context to understanding
poetry. Keeping these two aspects in mind, write a paragraph in which you explain what the following
quotations from the poem refer to:
In order to properly understand certain poems, one needs to know the context in which certain things
are said and we need to know about the history about certain things that occur in the poem. In this
particular poem In the shadow of Signal Hill , it is important to know that the poem is about the
apartheid era in South Africa, therefore certain lines places this into context. In line 7: listen to the

Repetition is used in order to place an emphasis on what is being repeated. These lines symbolize and
create a very cold and very unpleasant atmosphere in the poem. The poet could have chosen to repeat
these lines because it would emphasize the fact that the apartheid era was a very cold and harsh time
for those who were being oppressed. This is very effective on the meaning of the poem as it constantly
reminds the reader to sympathize with those who were affected and it allows the readers emotions to

Separation of Gold
The industrial separation process that I have decided to do is gold separation. Gold separation can be
done in a number of ways but there is not always one way to do it, but the combination of a couple of
these processes to extract pure gold. Gold is obtained form the lithosphere. It is separated from the ore
found in the lithosphere.
Gold s symbol is Au. Its atomic number is 79 and has an atomic mass of 196.96655 amu. Its melting
point is 1064.43°C, while its boiling point is 2807.0 °C. It is a transition metal and is yellow or gold in
colour.
There are also many principles used in the separation of gold. One of these is boiling points in the
process of smelting. In Froth floatation, the principle is the organic chemicals in the ... Show more

Smelting and roasting are classified as pyrometallurgy, which is, the use of heat for the treatment of an

Heap Leach Process:
Low grade gold bearing ore is mined in an open cut, then crushed and screened. Lime is mixed with
the ore to control the pH of the leaching operation. The ore is piled into heaps on polyethylene pads
and cyanide solution is sprayed over the heaps. The cyanide dissolves most of the gold as it trickles
through the ore, producing a pregnant solution which is collected in drains at the edge of the heap and
pumped to a gold recovery circuit, usually a Carbon in Leach
Mining:
Gold in the ground occurs either mixed with loose materials (alluvial) or as grains locked amongst
other mineral grains in solid rock. Some gold may be chemically combined with other elements in the
mineral grains. To obtain a sellable gold end product, ore must be mined and concentrated. The gold
must be liberated from other interlocking minerals then separated from all other contaminants.
Dredging:
Some of the alluvial goldfields discovered early this century were mined using floating dredges. In
Australia, some rivers in the Snowy Mountains and particularly in central Victoria at Beechworth,
were mined by this method.
Normally a pond is built for the dredge which uses a chain bucket at the front to excavate the loose
gold bearing sediment The gold is separated by gravity sorting

Richard Nixon s Involvement In Vietnam
Many people think that all Nixon did in his presidency was the watergate scandal, but in reality he
helped stop Americans fighting in the Vietnam War. When Richard Nixon started in Office he was
faced with the difficult task of trying to pull all US troops out of Vietnam. He decided to use a tactic
he created called Vietnamization. The simple plan was to strengthen South Vietnam so they could
fight the war by themselves. The plan involved many small steps which helped finally end our
involvement in January 1973. The War was highly disliked by many Americans. This split America up
and caused divisions in America. Richard Nixon ended US involvement in the Vietnam war by using
the strategy of Vietnamization. Richard Nixon was the 37th President of the United States of America.
He was also the only president to resign from office. Nixon was born on January 9,1913 in Yorba
Linda, CA. Nixon s parents were Francis A. Nixon and Hannah Milhous Nixon, whose maiden name
is Milhous. Francis was an American businessman and Hannah was a devoted Quaker. Richard Nixon

  • 3. Why Is Lying Unjustified Lying, it s everywhere. Almost 60% of most adults can t go ten minutes without telling a lie. Some people lie to protect other people, while others lie to benefit themselves like maintaining the perfect image they care so much about. However, lying is completely unjustified unless you re protecting yourself or someone else from danger. This idea can be further proven with evidence from a variety of articles. To begin, many people believe that lying is unjustified, like German philosopher Immanuel Kant. Although, people agree with this statement, others may disagree. However, some people believe that ...lying is stressful and hurts relationships. (Ballinger 5). This proves that lying is unjustified because if you chose to tell the truth it wouldn t be stressful; and also it wouldn t hurt relationships. Another example within the text states, Delivering the truth is easier, takes less time, and is less stressful. (Ballinger 5). • 4. Brown Vs Board Of Education Yesterday my best friend, Brandon, and I went to the library located on Savannah State s campus to study for our upcoming final exam. Even though Brandon is a Caucasian, people don t have a negative outlook on our relationship just because I am an African American. It doesn t make much of a difference to society when we are seen together, considering America symbolizes unity. Must I remind you, it hasn t always been this way in America. in fact, Whites and Blacks weren t allowed to attend the same school, let alone the same water fountain because of segregation. to many people this situation was looked upon as ridiculous. Why should a person s skin tone determine where they should be allowed to go? I shouldn t. This was going on way too long without anything being done about it. Finally someone decided to take the problem to a new extent to bring about change. Brown vs Board of education is one case that still has great significance in history. Not only did it have a huge effect on segregation, but America as well would not be the same. My surroundings would totally change if this case had not been established. Brandon would not be my best friend, and sadly without the desegregation in schools, we would have never crossed paths. Oliver Brown stood as the representative plaintiff in the case Brown vs. Borad of Education. He felt so strong about segregated schools, becuase his daughter was denied entrance of a white school located in Topeka Kansas. Although many people ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When the different dialysis tubes with different substances were placed in water, diffusion took place; this is when the particles moved from a high concentration region to a low concentration region. Osmosis is the act of moving through a semipermeable membrane. Therefore the lab required a semipermeable membrane; however a semipermeable membrane is only found in cells so students used dialysis tubes. The dialysis tubes used, allowed the substance within to flow outside of the tube, essentially working as a semipermeable membrane. The osmolarity for the substances were different, the osmolarity can be determined by the amount of solute particles in a liter or per liter. In the lab there was one isotonic solution this was the blue solution. The mixture was isotonic because both the solution outside of the tube and inside of the tube had the same amount of concentration. During this lab both hypotonic and hypertonic solutions were observed. Hypotonic is when the osmotic pressure is lower than the fluid. Voter Capabilities INTRODUCTION Citizens, politicians, and officials have been in heated debates on whether Americans are capable of handling their responsibilities that are given just for being a citizen. Voting is a personal choice for Americans. The fears of losing rights and freedom have been present for many decades and centuries. Everybody is concerned that citizens may not be as free as they once were. People fought hard to make every American citizen free. Citizens are not always informed when they go to the voting booth and mark their candidate. If the democratic system depended solely on the qualifications of the individual voter, then it seems remarkable that democracies have survived through the centuries (Barleson, Lazarfeld, McPhee; p 209). Every voter may be qualified, but the voter can still lack information. Barleson, Lazerfeld, and McPhee recognize that individuals do not meet the standards that Political politicians necessarily agree with. Evidence based Argument Voters do not have enough information to make educated votes that are best for this country. Americans will sit around and complain about the Democracy, but attempt to do nothing about it. Numbers speak for themselves; if every citizen that complained about the Democracy voted, there would be a change in the world. Every vote counts in America and everybody has a voice. One cannot stress how important it is to gain information about current politics. Information is found everywhere. Information can be found online, on television, in articles, and in books. Reading a little bit can go a long way. Americans need to take the time to find information and their rights would be safer. • 12. The Pros And Cons Of The War On Terrorism Fighting fire with fire, or in this case, fighting terrorism with terrorism. This, simply put, is what many believe to be the solution to terrorism a War on Terror. NATO is well known for being one of the largest and strongest organizations or military alliances in which participating states agree to mutual defense in any event of an external attack. Since the attack of 9/11, NATO, with the lead of the U.S., has been determined to eradicate each and every single terrorist group or any form of terrorism. Over the years, these motivations have sparked countless controversial issues as ethics of this war became increasingly questionable. Although many may support this concept of a War on Terror , it is simply, without question, economically damaging, misleading, and a hopeless attempt to solve the issue of terrorism. In 2011, expenses for the War on Terror were reported by the Pentagon to be about $1 trillion. However, when experts carefully analyzed the data and expenses, they had discovered hidden costs that were left unmentioned by the Pentagon, creating a new total of approximately $4.4 trillion. To put this into perspective, $4.4 trillion is over a fifth of the total U.S. tax revenue from 2001 2011 (about $21 trillion). If just $1 billion in education spending adds $1.3 billion to the economy and creates 17,687 jobs, imagine the benefits from the thousands of billions of dollars that are used to support the War on Terror. Why have my sisters husbands if they say They love you all? Happy, when I shall wed, That lord whose hand must take my plight shall carry Half my love with him, half my care and duty. Sure, I shall never marry like my sisters, To love my father all. (1.1.95 103) This quote is coming from Cordelia in the first scene of the first act. Lear has just called his three daughters in and is dividing up his kingdom. The daughters are telling Lear how much they love him in order to influence the decision on dividing the kingdom. Regan and Goneril both lie and say that they love him more than words can express but Cordelia doesn t lie and tells the truth. In this quote, she says, Lear you have raised me and loved me and I m returning the favor. I love you just as I should, I obey you, I love you and I honor you. Hopefully, when I get married I will give you my husband and half of my love. This quote is showing that in King Lear, Shakespeare uses characters to represent something greater. In the story, there are a few main characters that are big metaphors one being King Lear representing madness and insanity. • 21. Phillips Curve Methodology Is Used On An Information Set... Abstract In a creating nation like Pakistan, Phillips Curve methodology is utilized on an information set of 35 years. Phillips Curve helps in analyzing the relationship in the middle of inflation and unemployment. There is a non relative negative relationship in the middle of inflation and unemployment (if unemployment is decreased than there is a rising value level in the economy). There is a long run and easygoing relationship in the middle of inflation and unemployment over the above mentioned period in Pakistan. There is a momentary relationship (stuns) in the short run, while there is a lasting relationship (stuns) over the long run. By taking a look at the relationship built, one can estimate for next 10 years, that there will be a reverse relationship between both variables. This paper records an inflation insignificantly influences GDP and unemployment and the correlation is negative, exact confirmation for the presence of the Phillips Curve in Pakistan i.e., inflation has reduced unemployment. • 23. The Sun God And Hercules Masculinity In Hamlet Due to the death of his father and the remarriage of his mother, Hamlet must now be subservient to his Uncle Claudius, for whom he has no respect. In his soliloquy, Hamlet contrasts his late father with his uncle like a Hyperion to a satyr, [...] My father s brother, but no more like my father than I to Hercules (1.2.140 153). To Hamlet, both Hyperion (the Sun God) and Hercules (a demigod) represent the epitome of strength. In the case of Hercules, he embodies the patriarchal ideal of masculinity violent, dominant, and immortal. He promotes the image that men should be unfeeling, undoubting, and all action and no words. This is the unattainable standard of masculinity that men in Hamlet s society is subject to, since in order to be a Real Man , that would require him to to become a God. ... As a result, the way that others perceive his mental instability is derived from how much he falls short of male social expectations. His exhibition of emotions deemed unfit for men, such as pain and vulnerability, identifies him as a social outlier. This vulnerability is triggered by the sudden death of his father, which he vocalizes at his uncle s coronation. Hamlet complains that he wished the Everlasting had not fixed/ His canon gainst self slaughter! (1.2.131 132). In this scenario, death equates inaction, since Hamlet cannot do anything if he kills himself. This contrasts the male social expectations placed upon him, since he is expected to act on his father s behalf by taking revenge on his enemies and inflicting outward damage. However, Hamlet chooses to direct his frustrations inward, reflecting on his actions in long soliloquies and thinking about self harm and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Just like Mother Jones, Cesar was ardent about getting farm workers rights, except for the fact that Cesar had to wait 5 years longer than Mother Jones. In addition to this, Cesar Chavez led the UFW union to get unprecedented gains that made farmer s working conditions better( Chavez Foundation). Leader Cesar went great lengths to get these rights. He was determined enough to get a group of people to support his cause. Furthermore, Cesar influenced people who supported his cause to boycott grapes and other products produced by farm workers (Cesar Foundation). Although Cesar didn t tell the people to commence boycotting, he still influenced them enough to do it anyway. It is set in Venice, Italy, in Venetian society women played little role in anything other than to be a wife to their husband and a mother. This is why many Venetian women married at such an early age. The play is about 2 families whom are separated by a long forgotten ancient feud. In this scene we see Juliet as a very naïve character, and in a later scene we see the complete antithesis of her character, where she is no longer a naïve young girl, who does everything her parents command her to do. We see her as an independent and sophisticated married woman. Act 1 Scene 5 is the scene set at the party at the Capulet s household. Juliet s mother introduces her to the County Paris, but before that, she sets eyes on Romeo, of the House of Montague. Romeo is not aware the Juliet is from the house of Capulet, he thinks she is exceptionally beautiful. He describes her as a snowy dove, trooping with crows , the dove symbolises purity, peace and is associated with the colour white, however crows symbolise hatred and are usually associated with the colour black. This can be linked to the theme of the feud which exists between the two households, Juliet is pure, but the rest of her house is filled with hatred and distrust. We then see Juliet s first move to disobey her mother, she leaves the hall of the ball with Romeo. We see the beginning of Juliet s journey from a child into an independent woman. We are also made aware of her emerging sexuality. Romeo uses an extended metaphor in an attempt to get Juliet to kiss him; he describes her as a saintly being and himself as a sinner who needs his sins cleansing. Juliet knows ... • 31. Discrimination In The Movie Bullies Think of how different the world would be if we did not accept other s views. How would that affect us? Three creators thought about this topic and show how the world could be. They showed different situations through a movie, an article, and a court hearing. Without accepting other views violence and discrimination would be inevitable and could cause much worse problems. Today acceptance of views is practiced by a large majority of the population around the world. Opinions on people or objects should not be dependent on beliefs or contrast of views is a recurring message. Throughout the film Bullied directed by Bill Brummel, Jamie came out as a homosexual and the other boys did not like that. They physically hurt him by hitting, kicking and even peeing on him just because he was different. Many classmates at Ashland Middle School saw him as gay that was enough for some campus bullies (1:54 2:03). This statement shows the discrimination against Jamie just on the fact that he is different. Jamie was against the bullies because they ridiculed him. The bullies were against Jamie because he was gay. I just know that it hurt a lot to hear those words every day (2:11 2:13) said Jamie about being bullied every day. The quote by Jamie shows the difficult times and feelings not only him but all people can accumulate if discriminated against. By the end of the story, Jamie defended himself by putting a lawsuit, which he won, on the school system for failure to oblige to complaints from Jamie and his family. This film can show what some people go through in life without acceptance of differences. Again implying the severe importance of acceptance of differences. In the article Towards a True Refuge the author, Aung San Suu Kyi discusses problems we have we discrimination and how that affects immigration and communications with other countries. The greatest threats to global security today come not from the economic deficiencies of the poorest nations but from religious, racial (or tribal) and political dissensions (lines 4 6). Aung San Suu Kyi wrote this statement to say global security is merely a fear of differences in cultures. The nation is against immigrants and others because they did not feel safe around ... Lime is mixed with the ore to control the pH of the leaching operation. The ore is piled into heaps on polyethylene pads and cyanide solution is sprayed over the heaps. The cyanide dissolves most of the gold as it trickles through the ore, producing a pregnant solution which is collected in drains at the edge of the heap and pumped to a gold recovery circuit, usually a Carbon in Leach Mining: Gold in the ground occurs either mixed with loose materials (alluvial) or as grains locked amongst other mineral grains in solid rock. Some gold may be chemically combined with other elements in the mineral grains. To obtain a sellable gold end product, ore must be mined and concentrated. The gold must be liberated from other interlocking minerals then separated from all other contaminants. Dredging: Some of the alluvial goldfields discovered early this century were mined using floating dredges. In Australia, some rivers in the Snowy Mountains and particularly in central Victoria at Beechworth, were mined by this method.
