My First Semester At Mesa College
This is my first semester at Mesa College. I am currently a Political Science major. The term that
would best describe my current situation would be non traditional student. I graduated from high
school in 2006. Since then I have gotten married, travelled the world, and had two children. While
in high schoolI excelled and took part in many academic extra curricular activities. In the past ten
years I have accumulated work and life experience. Most recently I was able to work as a legal
assistant for an immigration firm. Being bilingual was beneficial, as was my interest in law in
general. I plan on attending law school in the future which made the job appealing. Although I
deferred collegefor this long it has always been my... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite its location the University of California San Diego has an undeniable reputation, attrition
rate, and success rate of graduates; as well as a more appealing curriculum.
As stated above the University of California San Diego is not in the most desirable location,
however I believe it is the right choice after Mesa. UCSD is located in La Jolla at 9500 Gillman
Drive (Make Waves,2016). The nearest four year university for me would be San Diego State
University. I currently live in Chula Vista making UCSD a 28 minute drive time, not factoring in
traffic (Travelmath,2016). In comparison SDSU would be a 17 minute drive. Brenda Antonio, a
manager in the accounting department at UCSD, lives in my neighborhood and has stated that her
average drive time on a weekday morning is an hour (Antonio,2016). An hour commute may sound
like an inconvenience but there some positive aspects to a long commute. In a study done by the
Australian National University it was found that many people enjoy their commute and, said this
was the only time they got to themselves during the week, and so used it to dream, relax and
meditate (Bissel, 2015). In addition, I personally enjoy driving and don t mind the commute.
Although an hour long commute is not ideal there are certain options in order to reduce the
negative aspects. Scheduling classes during low traffic times and maximizing the time spent
commuting, like listening to books on tape, would

Use Of Similes In Sylvia Plath s The Bell Jar
One often hears the saying, Don t judge a man until you have walked a mile in their shoes. The
way an author uses similes can help the reader better understand how the character feel and what
they re going through like Sylvia Plath in The Bell Jar. Esther Greenwood, a college student,
working at a month long job as a guest editor for a fashion magazine feels like an outcast from
the rest of the girls; she doesn t seem to fit in. When she arrives back home, she receives several
bad news leads her into thinking suicideis the best thing to do. After multiple failed attempts, she
is put into a mental hospital where she will gain hope in life and finally discover who she really is.
In Sylvia Plath s The Bell Jar, there are several instances in which the author uses similes to
illustrate a more detailed image/description to better portray how the main character felt during
her New York job, her suicide attempts, and at her stay at the mental institution. During The
Bell Jar, Sylvia Plath used similes to highlight Esther s characteristic of a wallflower during her
trip to New York. After Frankie, one of Lenny s friend abandones Esther, he is forced to take her
and Doreen to his apartment. Lenny obviously wanting privacy with Doreen he asks her to go
but Doreen defends Esther and says she will only go with the do any of her friend. From there
on, Esther feels unwanted and ignored while she spends time at Lenny s place. Plath describes
Esther s abandonment while Lenny and Doreen dance, I felt myself shrinking to a small black
dot against all those red and white rugs and that pine paneling. I felt like a hole in the ground
(Plath 16). Esther feels left out while her best friend and a stranger dance. The simile expresses
how she felt invisible and ignored. The author tries to relate to the reader who once in their life
may have felt outcastes or left out. Esther has a tendency to feel terrible about herself. From the
beginning of the story, she explains how she feels different and not in the right place. The author
wrote, The city had faded my tan, though. I looked yellow as a Chinaman. Ordinarily, I would
have been nervous a about my dress and my odd color, but being with Doreen made me forget my

Geography Of China Essay
Geographical Location: China has great physical diversity. The east and south of the country
consists of fertile lowlands and foothills, and is the location of most of China s agricultural output
and human population. The west and north of the country is dominated by sunken basins (such as
the Gobi and the Taklamakan), rolling plateaus, and towering massifs. It contains part of the highest
tableland on earth, the Tibetan Plateau, and has much lower agricultural potential and population.
Traditionally, the Chinese population centered on the Chinese central plain and oriented itself
toward its own enormous inland market, developing as an imperial power whose center lay in the
middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River on the northern plains. More recently, the 18,000 km
(11,000 mi) coastline has been used extensively for export oriented trade, causing the coastal
provinces to become the leading economic center.
Climate: China Owing to tremendous differences in latitude, longitude, and altitude, the climate of
China is extremely diverse, ranging from tropical in the far south to subarctic in the far north and
alpine in the higher elevations of the Tibetan Plateau. Monsoon winds, caused by differences in the
heat absorbing capacity of the continent and the ocean, dominate the climate. During the summer,
the East Asian Monsoon carries warm and moist air from the south and delivers the vast majority of
the annual precipitation in much of the country. Conversely, the Siberian

The Image Of Nursing
The Image of Nursing Nurses has created a particular image on society and within their profession
realm, that depicts them as quite a unique individual, specializing in delivery of quality,
compassionate and caring care that is so unique in a meaningful way. With the media involved, the
images, both reflect and reinforce the social aspect of nursing throughout the continuum of care.
This essay will seek to explore common and complexed images of nursing and tell a story of how
those images can play a part in the reflecting and the various status of the nursing we know today.

The media did not do any justice in depicting stories about the values of the nurse, yet alone the
integrity, until the CAN ( The Center of nursing advocacy, 2007) decided to enlist a program
where nurses were honored and rewarded for outstanding achievement in care. From the advent of
the introduction of improved curriculum to now include the highest level of achievement for
nursing, the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), where nurses can not only write prescriptions and
treat independently, but can advance to research, enabling better evidence based practices
(Andrews l. D., 2007). The patients appears, from various studies, to be more apt to follow
instructions from the nurse over the doctor, as they see the nurse as giving a more personalized
treatment, and a working relationship, extends far out from being a patient in the hospital, to home
care services where they are happy to receive quality care in the comfort of their own home. The
Friendly Face of Nursing
Although, today, there are many male nurses, the overwhelming site of a nurse, is that smiling
female who seems to care so much about your comfort. The friendliness in which she asks how
are you today Ms Job ? The peace of mind seen on the patient s face, tells that the joy of that
closeness has certainly formed a bond (Johnson Johnson, 2007). The nurse in the home care setting,
becomes more personalized; the patient sees him/her on

Analysis Of Pam Jenkins, Steve Kroll Smith, And Vern Baxter
In Left to Chance the authors: Pam Jenkins, Steve Kroll Smith, and Vern Baxter attempt to fill a
book with details from the events leading up to and the aftermath of hurricane Katrina without
explicitly talking about race. This is a new take on writing about hurricane Katrina because most
books and articles out there use race as a backbone in describing how devastating the storm was.
This decision was beneficial to the overall message of the book because even though the authors
never brought up race, the people who were interviewed brought it up on their own volition,
which consequently brought the issue of race along for the ride in the entirety of the book
without the authors never having to explicitly say, because they were black. This perceived
notion that race was a huge piece in the puzzle that was the newly decimated New Orleans, shows
that even though there is a book that existed in all intents and purposes to NOT focus on race,
race was obviously a very prevalent reason in why African Americans suffered the worse in the
storm. Furthermore, the authors made an intelligent choice in deciding to choose two economically
different black neighborhoods to focus their book on instead of writing about two poor, black
neighborhoods, two white neighborhoods, or one white and one black neighborhood. The reason
for this is because the two economically different black neighborhoods prove that it wasn t just a
monetary reason for why African Americans were so devastated by the

How Did Andrew Jackson Remove Cherokee Indians
When Andrew Jackson became the president of the United States, he had in mind to remove
Cherokee Indians from their society and place them on new lands provided by the Louisiana
purchase. A bill was signed in 1830, known as the Indian Removal Bill , which made Cherokees
migrate from Georgia, westward of the Mississippi river. The Cherokees had to be moved from
their lands because the environment they were leaving in was not suiting them well and they were
becoming a threat to the new government established by the United States. On President Andrew
Jacksonfirst annual message to Congress, he mentioned that Indians were given an opportunity to
get involved in their society, but instead the Cherokees wanted to create their own government

Tagish Lake Research Paper
Most of us are familiar with the panspermia hypothesis that life can be seeded from asteroid,
comet, and planetoid contents but to date, no direct evidence has been discovered. So, why
should we consider meteorites to be possible parents? The truth is out there somewhere and these
space rocks contain the essentials, as far down as to amino acids. Until now, what has been
recovered has been regarded as structured. However, the matter of Tagish Lake arose.
In January of 2000, a huge meteoroid exploded in our planet s atmosphere over Northern British
Columbia in Canada, which resulted in falling debris over Tagish Lake, while frozen. This
observed fall was rare, and the meteorites were harvested meticulously, preserved in their frozen
state, and documented. There are two reasons: to preserve the space stone s integrity and to ensure
that no contamination could take place either to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It involves more than just documenting the date and time of the observed event and where the
fragments were harvested. To be properly conducted, the field must be measured. Each fragment
must be photographed in it s finding position in addition to the depth being measured and other
important steps to properly document the event. Nothing should be left to speculation.
These first Tagish Lake samples are the nearest we have to an return mission of an asteroid
sample in terms of purity, adds NASA s Godard Space Flight Center s Dr. Michael Callahan in
Greenbelt, MD, a co author on the paper.

Comparing the Marxist and Functionalist Views on the Role...
Comparing the Marxist and Functionalist Views on the Role of Education in Industrial Society
The functionalists and the Marxists both believe that the education system benefits everyone, but
both have different views on society. The Marxist views of the education system are that there are
conflicts because there is an inequality between the working class and the higher classes. They
believe that there are two different classes which education produces, and that is the working class
and the ruling class. The people who don t achieve good grades in school and who aren t very
bright, will be known in society as the working class, and so won t have very good status jobs in
society, and the people that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A functionalist named Emile Durkheim believes that the education system introduces the
importance of social solidarity in people. He says Society can survive only if there exists among
its members a sufficient degree of homogeneity; education perpetuates and reinforces this
homogeneity by fixing in the child from the beginning the essential similarities which collective
life demands. So he believes that social life would be impossible without social solidarity
amongst people. Social solidarity is when a mass of individuals in a society is united as a whole,
and when people learn to respect their community and look after one another and their
surroundings. Education teaches people this at an early age, by giving history lessons because
this provides a link between the individual and the society in which they live in. In particular,
Durkheim s view are proved by the way pupils are taught in the U. S. A, where there educational
curriculum has introduced the pupils to take an oath to the Stars and Stripes at the start of every
school day, and so they are committed to their society at an early age. However a criticism to these
norms and values that he talks about is that different people have different norms and values to one
another.
Hargreaves who is another functionalist proposes a number of changes to the

Suicide Prevention For The Kern County Mental Health Hotline
My family and friends don t quite understand my motivations to become a mental health counselor.
Personally, I can think of nothing more rewarding than helping people through dark times and
giving hope for a brighter future. Deep down, I m an idealist with enough life experience to pepper
my expectations. There are countless possible research topics within the mental health field, but I
ve recently developed a deep appreciation of suicideprevention since volunteering for the Kern
County Mental Health Hotline. I ve also become acutely aware of the relationship between suicide
and mooddisorders, such as depression and bipolar disorder. According to the CDC, suicide is
the second leading cause of death for people aged 15 34 years old, and the 10th leading cause of
death overall. An estimated 90% of those who have died by suicide suffered from mental
illness. That makes mental illness the top risk factor (NAMI, 2016). I was able to find these
statistics quite readily, but I couldn t find anything relating specifically to mood disorders. Since
I am not sure of what type of research already exists on the subject matter, a literature review
would be the perfect place to start. Not only would a review help verify that this is direction of
research has potential, it would help to develop my understanding of the topic. If I do find that
work has been done on the topic, I could narrow my scope to focus on points not previously
covered. If I review the preexisting work and

Water Is The Second Largest Reserve Of Freshwater On Earth
The earth is like a living organism; it thrives full of life with a fragile balance. This balance has
been thrown off by many different things. Water seems to be one of the biggest problems with
this offset balance. Water is a magic liquid keeping all of life thriving. Humans drink and use
water, plants use water, water is used in everyday life, and it s slowly being taken away. In the
future, there will be no water left to sustain life on earth. Ground water is a very important part of
our fresh water supply and yet, it s depleting at a faster rate than what can be replenished.
According to Kally Worm Groundwateris the second largest reserve of freshwater on earth. It also
makes up 40% of the freshwater used in the U.S. alone. This ground water is usually found in what
is called an aquifer. An aquifer is found towards the lower layers of the soil. The problem with
these aquifers it that their recharge rate is slow making it non renewable. These water supplies
being non re We are overusing these water supplies. When ground water is used to a level of
where it can t recover, it affects the ground. Sinkholes can be formed when there is a aquifer that
has water being drawn from it, but not letting it get back to par. Other problems can also occur is
too much ground water is pumped out near coasts. This creates what s called salt water intrusion.
Salt water intrusion is when the ocean water mixes with the fresh ground water. This increases the
salinity of the water making

Lensky s Aria From The Opera Eugene Onegin
Lensky s Aria from the opera Eugene Onegin
A novel by Alexander Pushkin adapted for opera by Pytor Tchaikowsky in 1825
Arranged for flute and piano by Guy Braunstein; edited and revised by Emmanuel Pahud in 2009
Performed by Emmanuel Pahud and Fuminori Tanada
As does any opera, Tchaikowky s Russian Opera Eugene Onegin portrays a storyline overrun
with tragedy. Eugene Onegin has inherited his uncle s estate giving him access to acres of
hunting ground on which he meets Lensky, whom he becomes rather good friends with. The
friendship does not last long however, as a vast misunderstanding comes between them. Lensky
had recently been engaged to Olga, a neighbor of Onegin s, and finds himself incredibly joyful
and very much in love. Lensky sees Onegin dancing with his fiancГ© , and takes Onegin to be
attempting to seduce his fiancГ©, yet this is not the case. Onegin was only dancing with Olga
to be cruel to her younger sister Tatyana who has recently expressed her love for Onegin. Lensky
will not here of Onegin s explanation and challenges Onegin to a duel. It is in the scene of the
duel where Lensky performs his aria. The aria is the last lyrical piece in the opera at the end of
Act 2. The aria is heard by the audience just before the battle and just before Onegin loses his life.
Lensky s Aria has been performed by many vocalists both on stage and as a solo work accompanied
only by the piano. The lyrics tell of how Lensky wishes he were young again and had only

If defendant s acts or omissions are found to be substantial contributing factors in the injury and
without these contributing factors the injury would not have happened, then cause in fact will be
established. Beyond substantial factors, the other element of proximate cause is foreseeability. As
Smith and Johnson (2010) have observed, Employers typically defend nonsubscriber claims on the
proximate cause of negligence... Foreseeability is a necessary element of the plaintiff s case that is
often not present in many employee injury cases (p. 102). Consequently, defendants will likely
attack the foreseeability element. The burden will be on the plaintiff to argue that more likely than
not the defendant s acts and omissions were the proximate causes of the injury. Expert testimony
regarding how the injury occurred, as well as its foreseeability, will be key in determining whether
the plaintiff or defendants will prevail. This brings us to the final element should causation be

North Korean Political Policies On North Korea
Introduction
Beginning in the early 1940 s, Korea has been a split nation; the great divide that happened in
initially in 1945 was just the beginning of what would become one of the world s most infamous
splits of a country. Radically different in political regime and agenda, these countries provide for a
very complex case study of border conflict. Due to its extremely repressive regime, North Korea
stands as one of the worst places to call home in the world, while South Korea is incredibly more
liberal. Despite the inescapable amounts of propaganda imposed on the citizens of North Korea, the
current generations of North Koreans hold ties to South Korea through separated family, making
South Korea a very attractive but forbidden land. While South Korea continues to center its foreign
policy on loosening the strict rule of the North Korean government, North Korea remains stubborn
and the struggle remains in tow with the stark differentiation between ideologies politically,
militarily, and culturally.
History of Korea
In the mid 10th century, the Silla regime was overtaken by the Goryea regime in what is today
Korea when it was one land, and one people. The name Korea was directly derived from the
pronunciation of the Goryea. (Shelley, 500). The first separation of the territory of Korea came
after World War II ended, and the Soviets occupied the Northern portion of Korea, while the
Americans occupied the Southern portion. This separation was never actually intended to

Rhetorical Strategies For Technical Communication
Rhetorical Strategies
Although both of the journal covers share a collaborative perspective on the future of technical
communication, they feature distinctively different images, fonts, color schemes, and layouts that
are the result of two different rhetorical approaches to the theme of The Future of Technical
Communication.
Journal Cover 1: Time to Solve the Puzzle
The first journal cover, entitled Time to Solve the Puzzle, was designed in order to express that the
future of technical communication depends on the contribution of knowledge from all people who
are involved with the field of technical communication, whether they are a technical communicator
or an employer of one. It is meant to convey urgency to all of the people mentioned above in the
Audience section, my anticipated viewers of the Technical Communication journal. The idea is that
all of these people individually possess some knowledge (represented by the puzzle pieces) that will
be combined with the knowledge of others, which when brought together, as a whole will determine
the specifics of the future of the technical communication field. In essence, I wanted to express that
the future of the technical communication field can take on whatever form those associated with it
desire it to, but in order for it to meet their desires, they must begin to collectively think of its future
now.
The cover features a futuristic themed title with beveled and embossed font centered at the top. I

HW 1 (1) Draw an indifference curve map with the quantity of pennies are on the horizontal axis
and the quantity of nickels are on the vertical axis. Given the shape of your indifference curve,
how would you describe the typical relationship between these two products ? The two goods are
perfect substitutes for each other. 5pennies are equivalent to a nickel. (2) You and I are in
consumer equilibrium. CDs cost 10 dollars each and cassette tapes only 2 dollars each. I consume
CDs and cassettes. You consume only cassettes. What can you infer about my MRS (marginal rate
of substitution) of CDs and tapes? What about your MRS. Since both individuals are in consumer

With the income effect you consume less of both goods (since real income has decreased).
Therefore at the new equilibrium, you consume less of X and the amount of consumption of Y
depends on the relative strength of the two effects. (5) Think of a commercial establishment
(department store, coffee shop, gas station, store from which you make common purchases that
is spending your hard earned money) and think through the questions in the previous exercise
(4) as they would apply yourself and to the goods offered by this establishment. That is, take any
two goods or groups of goods from the store you have chosen and re do the questions in (4) as
they would really apply to you and your tastes. Now you are thinking economics and thinking
creatively as well! Consider choice made between having fruit beer(X) or having ice cream(Y)
after dinnerassuming that both are good goods. At the equilibrium, the MRS=price ratio = PX
/PY. At the equilibrium, the indifference curve is tangential to the budget line. MRS =MUX
/MUY =PX/PY, i.e. MUX/PX = MUY/PY Now it is given that X(fruit beer) is craved much more
for relative to Y(ice cream). Hence the indifference curves becomes steeper. That is now you are
willing to give up more amount of Y to have a unit more of X. Alternatively, it can be said that
you need more of Y to leave you indifferent for the same decrease in X. Hence the slope of the
indifference curve, i.e. the marginal rate of substitution increases, i.e. MUx/MUY increases.

Williston Basin Report
Introduction to the Williston Basin
The Williston Basin is an intracratonic sedimentary basin that occupies the majority of North and
South Dakota, as well as, parts of Wyoming and Montana. The basin also stretches in parts of
Canada, but this report will be focused on the United States portion of the basin. This portion of
the basin is generally flat with average elevations ranging from 1500 feet to 3000 feet.
Precipitation in the basin area ranges from 15 inches to 20 inches per year. The temperature
averages approximately 65 70 degrees during the summer months, and 10 20 degrees in the winter.

the Lower Bakken Member deposition, an increase in the rate of siliciclastic sedimentation (quartz

Upper Bakken Member deposition, an increase in biological productivity in the water column

The Importance Of Online Education
The year 2014 I majored in Information Technology and received my first Online Education class.
Privacy, space, and concentration are what Online Education provided. Online Education has
granted me a greater learning experience than being taught by the few lazy teachers in the past.
Teachers online provide links, videos, and handout guides for every assignment, anything needed to
complete and learn the materials. Not only has Online Educationgranted me a higher learning
experience, but also saved me an immense amount of money on gas and having the need to drive
daily to class and paying for parking. Many students struggle financially, and online education has
saved me a fortune. It is important to know that Online Education has affected us students in a
positive way where we have the alternative to meet an Education without the need to drive daily to
campus. Each year institutions of higher educationhas offered more courses that are fully online as
well as more that are blended or hybrid in design format (Hoskins and van Hooff, 2005). Colleges
and universities are placing greater emphasis on increasing online education offerings (Allen and
Seaman, 2005).
Online Education is important to have in society, considering that technology revolves around us
as a nation and is going under drastic changes every year and becoming more advanced and in
which anyone can benefit in many ways. As of 2014, at least 25% of the student population at

audience concerning the location or time in which the story is set and the characters in the story.
The information provided usually aids the audience in better understanding the behaviors and
actions of the characters in the story. For example, in the fairy tale Bluebeard, the author begins by
describing Bluebeard. Through this description, the audience notices that an element of mystery
surrounds him.
Conflict often arises when two parties have conflicting or different opinions on a given matter. In
this folktale, conflict arose between Bluebeard and his wife. Upon returning to his home, he
notices his wife s reluctance in returning his set of keys to him. As a result, he deduces that she
must have opened the forbidden room. He resolves to kill her, as he did to his previous wives, but
before executing her he grants her some time to pray. He soon grows impatient and demands she
goes down and meet her fate. This captures the audience s attention as they await the outcome. Will

Being Wrong is not Always a Bad Thing
Being Wrong is not Always a Bad Thing Watching Kathryn Schulz s Ted Talk On being wrong is
an outlook on reality that people these days don t look at or even have considered. What Schulz
does is explain why overachievers or people who want to be perfect are stuck in this little box of
perfection and that we need to get out. Being Wrong is one of the most natural things us as
humans can do. It is something that everyone of us has done at one time or another, no one is
ever perfect. And if so why don t we accept our wrongness, ignore or even get embarrassed by it.
Schulz says that we have been taught perfection all the way back to grade school, and that if we
as people didn t get everything right or perfect that we were stupid or... Show more content on

Barger feels that being wrong is just human nature, and that no matter how intelligent or what
position you hold in society you will not always be right.
Barger explains his personally connection of why he believes in uncertainty. He is an evangelical
Christian and a pastor, that struggled to accept the fact that he is gay since it was against the
fundamentals of his religion. He was so certain that he wasn t homosexual for years but in the
process he was actually hurting himself. Barger tells us that his belief in uncertainty is becoming
greater due to all the certainty around him, for example religious leaders or members are very
certain that their actions whether it be acts of terrorism or war will guarantee their place in
heaven or with their gods. Certainty can drive people to do crazy things and to Barger it can
almost be like your mind is in a prison, but just the simple act of being uncertain can make a man a
better person.
Ted Gup author of the essay In Praise of the Wobblies was someone who always stood in the
middle, never really took either side of an argument. He felt like he was in no man s land even
though he agreed and disagreed with both sides he always tried to look and find his place. He
describes to us an incident during an internship interview, how he was surrounded by people that
knew everything there was about the topics they were given to explain but he stood right in the

Augustine Research Paper
Many great classical thinkers had a profound influence on later great thinkers. Plato and Aristotle
are just two examples that come to mind out of many. It would be interesting to ponder the
possibility as to whether or not the thought of later times would have the same ground that it has if
it were not for these great thinkers that came before.
In the early period of Christianity, the influence of Plato s philosophical criticisms of art can be
seen in effect in Augustine s view of the imagination as profane. One can question as to whether
Augustine s view of original sin would have been so negative if he had not imbibed the Platonic
conception of the Fall of the soul. The combination of Biblical and Hellenic elements made

Alfarabi is probably the least important of these, he is primarily significant because he was a
pioneer in the invocation of Aristotle as a philosophical authority (essentially paving the way for
the Golden Age of Muslim Aristotelianism). He is said to have believed in the unity of the
thought of Plato and Aristotle. Also, his work shows a confluence of their theories. An example of
this is his claim that God is simultaneously identical with the neo Platonic One and with Aristotle s
Self Thinking Thought . When we look at Avicenna however, we find the development of a
Muslim philosophy more independent of theological constraints as well as an Aristotelianism less
apologetic to supposed Platonic doctrine (philosopheruk). With this being said, Avicenna rejects
the conception of a divine creation of the world in time and follows Aristotle in considering the
primary aim of philosophy to be the study of being qua being. Algazali demonstrated a critical
backlash against the Aristotelianism of Avicenna, within the Islamic tradition. In his work The
Incoherence of the Philosophers , he attacks the inconsistency of the philosophical positions of
Alfarabi and Avicenna with orthodox Koranic interpretation (philosopheruk). This work is
significant philosophically because it does not rule out the possibility of philosophy de jure, but
rather points to the misuse of philosophy by both of his predecessors. In other words, he was
concerned with the philosophical ideas of the eternity of the world and the rejection of bodily
resurrection, ideas which he regarded not simply as theologically heterodox but as the result of a
misapplication of Aristotelian logical

The Doom Clock Chapter 2.
An old, blue Ford truck sped down a mountain trail. Trees of fiery leaves lined the dirt road.
Alexander sat in the back seat of the car. In the front sat his mom, dark haired and green eyed,
and his dad, wearing a faded jacket and a look of desperation. It was Sunday in November.
Normally, Alexander would be at the park playing baseball with his friends or at the library. Today
was different. A family trip, his mom had told him. But something seemed odd. Maybe it was the
way his parents were barely glancing him, the way they seemed to have something to hide.
Alexanders mom had said that they would be back at their Albuquerque home before the day
finished. They had been driving for [number of] hours. It was evening. The car stopped at an old
farm. In the middle lay a rotting barn that had once been light blue. Paint peeled. Rusted tractor
parts and equipment were scattered across the lawn. To the right lay deep green woods. Dirt
road stretched to the left. The farm looked utterly deserted. Were here, grunted Alexander s
father. Alex s mom marched toward the door of the barn. There was a rusted bell, connected to a
pulley and a thick rope. Alex s mom pulled it. The bell rang out, loud and strong. The family
waited. They must have looked strange, crowded onto the stoop of an old farm house outside of
Santa Fe. Alexander s parents often did strange things. They had little money, and always signed
up for odd jobs. Alexander s dad worked as a part time doorman,

called typhoons or cyclones depending on where it occurs but the scientific term for these storms
is a tropical cyclone. Hurricanes can reach wind speeds of 200 mph. Most hurricanes last up to a
week travelling 10 20 mph over the ocean. Hurricanes move counter clockwise around the eye (the
center of the storm). The eye is the calmest part of the storm, it only has light winds and fair
weather. When hurricanes come into land they can cause lots of destruction, they destroy buildings,
trees and cars.

How does the Bible Influence Political Thought and Action...
How does the Bible Influence Political Thought and Action in Our Culture? The Bible is a unique
book that is different from others because it contains sacred text that has continued to influence
societies from generation to generation. Generally, the impact of this sacred book is worldwide
since it has affected every department of human activity. The influence of the Bibleon society is
derived from the fact that it contains various themes that are used to shape the moral progress of
the world. In addition, the influence of this book is not restricted to Christians and Jews because it
impacts more than 50 percent of the world population. One of the major ways that the Bible has
influenced society is through its effects on politics, especially political thought and action. In most
cases, the Bible is used as the basis for formation of laws and rules that govern society.
The Bible and Politics: In today s society, there are Christians who have unhealthy focus on social
and political issues to an extent that it is detrimental to their personal testimony and the gospel in
general. On the other hand, there are those who argue that Christians should have minimal or
nothing to do with politics (Specht, n.d.). However, these groups need to reconsider their views
and beliefs based on what the Bible teaches regarding politics. Despite of the difference in the role
of Christians in politics, the Bible is essential to political philosophers and theorists as well as the

Romeo And Juliet Act 2 Scene 2
William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet has been adapted into several films, but the film that
properly demonstrates the mood of Act 2, scene 2 is Baz Luhrmann s 1996 version. One of the
elements used by the director to convey the mood is setting. In scene 2, Romeo and Juliet are not on
balcony like in the original play, but instead in a courtyard. Later on, the couple falls into the pool
where most of the scene occurs. Although they have some intimate moments, Romeo and Juliet are
seen splashing water on each other and laughing. As a result, this evokes a playful mood because
they are having fun together. Another choice the director made is language. Despite including
quotes straight from the original text, there are many instances where the

Essay on censorship
Censorship is the act of suppressing publications, movies, television programs, plays, letters, and
so on that are considered to be obscene, blasphemous, or politically unacceptable (MccGwire 4).
Censorship should be enforced because it is needed into today s society. Censorship needs to be
used in media, hate speech, and obscene material.
To begin with, the media has very negative effect on society as a whole. The mass media movies,
television, and recordings need to be regulated, and not only because of appeals to irresponsible
lust (Lowenthal 19). They have immersed us in violence as well, habituated us to the most extreme
brutality, held it up as a model and surrounded us by images of hateful human ... Show more content

It corrupts taste and poisons the imagination (Kimball 20). Violent video games, movies, and music
lyrics influence people to retaliate against those people that hurt them. In the past few years there
have been a great number of school shootings. Many of these shootings were copied off of famous
movie scenes and video games. These obscene aspects of the media need to be banned from
children. Children are still learning the difference between rights and wrong, therefore adults need
to take on this responsibility of censoring what children watch, read, play with, and listen to.
Hate speech should also be banned. Free speech has a class line. It also has a class responsibility.
One person s beliefs cannot cross the line into threats of violence. Free speech does not cover that
(Albano 31). Those institutions most concerned with social fairness have proven to be the ones
most likely to promulgate anti hate speech rules (Albano 30). Part of the reason seems to be
recognition that hate speech can easily silence and demoralize its victims, discouraging them from
participating in the life of the institution (Albano 30). If so, enacting hate speech rules may be
evidence of a commitment to democratic dialogue, rather than the opposite, as some their
opponents maintain (Albano 30). People should not have to put up with harassment by others.
People should not have to constantly live in the state of fear because others are threatening them;

Nationalism holds that where a nation exists, it should govern itself. The forces of nationalism

knew the positive effects of a different style of governing and was divided into a much more
rational set of political units. There was an effort by both states to unite its segmented lands, so that
they could have a more international standpoint. By 1870, both Italy and the Austrian Empirehad

The Eyes Of Feminism By Simone De Beauvoir
Of the first person to attempt to view history through the eyes of feminism, Simone de Beauvoir
asserts that man is the great subject and woman is the other man is seen as essential, woman is
not. Her primary argument is that men fundamentally oppress women by characterizing them as
the other . The author also believes that women s inferiority in society is not a result of natural,
sexual differences but rather of differences in the societal development of men and women. She
argues that women are not born passive; rather, kept in a situation of inferiority , one becomes used
to the fact that she is inferior (xxiv).
Sex is a fixed physiological difference between males and females, usually assigned at birth. Gender
, on the other hand, refers to the differences of a man and a woman determined by a particular
culture and society that the individual belongs to. Socially constructed responsibilities, behaviors,
and attributes for men and women are considered gender roles. According to Joan W. Scott,
gender is used to designate social relations between the sexes (Joan Scott 1056). While aspects of
biological sex are similar across different countries and cultures, aspects of gender and how
ominously gender roles are emphasized may be different. In these manners, gender inequality refers
to the unfair treatment and discrimination against individuals based on their gender and the
imbalance between the sexes. Gender inequality exists because it remains beneficial to a

Child Labor During The United States
Statement of the problem: Many of the products that are used and consumed in the United States
are made in other countries. One of the main reasons for multinational corporations to produce
goods in countries other than the United States is the cost of production. It is far cheaper to
produce goods such as blue jeans, paper goods, and plastic toys to name a few. In recent years
the conditions in sweatshops in China, Japan, and elsewhere have garnered public outcry from
Countries like the U.S. and most of Europe. The main contention, child labor in dangerous and
horrid conditions. However one often overlooked example of child labor in sweatshop like
conditions exists were many people never thought. The chocolate we eat. From 2013 to 2014
more than 1.1 million children in the Ivory Coast were engaged in the most common Worst
Forms of Child Labor as recognized by the United Nations... up from 791,181 children from
2008 to 2009 (Berman, 2015). The benefactors of this child labor are huge multinational
enterprises such as Nestle, Mars Inc., and The Hershey Co. The children subjected to the forced
labor allegedly used to make Mars, Hershey s and Nestle chocolate are victims of hazardous work
such as that involving dangerous tools, transport of heavy loads and exposure to toxic substances
and the compulsory labor of trafficked children (Berman, 2015). A report commissioned by the

To begin with, this assignment is done with Kim Seo Yeon (20100472, Sociology). National
Cranberry Cooperative Case is the study done by the Harvard Business School about a process of
warehousing from the delivery and arriving of cranberry to a manufacturing in the warehouse.
National Cranberry Cooperative was an organization formed and owned by growers of cranberries

process could be classified into several operations; receiving and testing, dumping, temporary

In addition, wet bin capacity is 3,200 barrels so, according to hourly inventory increasing rate, after
passing 5.25 hours, trucks should wait to unload berries. Moreover, overworks should be done for
22.2 hours because workers should dry 13,300 barrels of the berries, but the drying capacity is only
600 barrel per hour besides the arrival rate is 1,210 barrels per hour.
To solve this problem, I would recommend to add dryers ($25,000 per each and capacity increases
200 barrels per each) or wet bins ($5,000 per each and capacity increases 250 barrels per each) for
short term. We can suggest three options to solve this matter. First, we can add no dryers but
convert 15 bins. Second, we can add a dryer and convert 6 bins too. Third, we can add 2 dryers, not
to convert any bins. As first option, we need only additional cost of $75,000, which is calculated by
$5,000 x 15 bins. By practicing first option, the wet bin storage increases to 6,950, so we can cover
all the arrivals of the berries this is done for not to make trucks to wait. In the second option, when
we add a dryer, we can handle 800 barrels per hour in drying process and we can reduce the
overworking time from 22.2 hour to 16.6 hour. (13,300 barrel / 800 barrel equals to 16.6 hours per
a day) We can estimate overtime saved cost and it is closely related to labor cost. Labor cost

Strategic Action Disney On Consumer Focused Initiative

world. It was started mainly to cater the Hong Kong people as the chinese market is rapidly
growing and it was a good and profitable move to open up disneyland in Hong Kong. The strategy
which Disney adopted is highly diversify. The company diversified its brand into different
businesses like theme parks, television networks, hotels, books and toys for children, animated and

company s strategy is to produce qualitative goods and services and engaging modern technology
with their services and expand their brand globally. In 1993 disney opened a theme park in Japan
which was very successful. After its huge success the next one was at Paris in 1992. Disney was an
American brand and entering into non american markets was not easy for them because of many
cultural differences. They wanted to enter european market but for entering non american european
markets the management understood the fact that they need to understand the cultural differences
first. To cater the european french market, the company restructured its management completely so

one thirdof the region s population lives in countries affected by or emerging from conflict.
Moreover,HIV/AIDS continues to threaten African lives and livelihoods. Africais the only region

sustainable development. Lessons of thecontinent s development over the last two decades
consistently highlighted the need for moreintensive efforts to effectively address some of its major
development constraints. Acombination of ineffective policies, outright mismanagement (in some
countries), heavyexternal debt burden, poor governance, and conflicts precipitated the massive
economicdecline in the early 1980s. The recovery in the latter half of the decade was partly due
tomajor economic policy reforms as well as growing socio political pluralism and economicstability,
which were consolidated in the decade of the 1990s. Yet, much still remains to bedone, as the

Roman Civilization, Political, And Fall Of The Renaissance
Between 500 BCE and 500 CE, the Roman civilization experienced changes both politically,
economically, and socially. The collapse was a period in the fifth century AD, during which the
Roman Empire collapsed in the wake of civil war, foreign invasion from barbaric tribes, plagues
that would strike the population, economic depression that would lead to a collapse in the
economy, and poor leadership. It would result in a collapse of Roman governmental authority.
While the Roman Empiresurvived the Crisis of the Third century and recovered, it emerged from
the crisis fundamentally changed. Thus the Crisis of the Third Century was one of the major
turning points in Roman history whilst shifting old traditional ideas of Rome into a greater
progressive ideology, which would result to the collapse of the Roman Empire. One cause that
can be seen is Rome s sheer size. The problem of succession was never clear as one emperor
succeeded another every few years on average. The urban rural imbalance saw immense gaps
between the commons and the upper class that leads to economic instability. Rome was an empire
built on cities as the cities have drained off the energy of the productivity of the countryside. It was
an empire whose Roman population was less dominant, partly through its own success in co opting
other peoples. Some of the people that the Roman army had homogenized we re not actually

Switching Techniques Can Be Classified Based On Network...
Switching Techniques: Switching techniques can be classified based on network characteristics.
The main task of switching technique is to establish connection between input and output channel
inside the router. Circuit switched networks reserve a physical path before transmitting the data
packets, while packet switched networks transmit the packets without reserving the entire path.
Packet switched networks for communications within large multi core systems on chip are made for
enhanced performance, scalability, modularity, and design productivity compared to busses and
dedicated signal wires (R. Mutha, 2012). Circuit Switching Technique: In this technique an
electrical interconnection is established between the source and destination and then the message is
transmitted. This technique pre allocates resources or links across more than one hop to the entire
message. Links must be reserved to transmit the entire message. For that a small setup message also
called as a probe is sent into the network and reservation for the links needed to transmit the entire
message or multiple messages is done from the source to the destination. Once the probe reaches the
destination (having successfully allocated the necessary links), the destination sends back an
acknowledgement message to the source. As soon as the source receives the acknowledgement
message, the message will be released by the source then the message can travel quickly through the
network. When the

Peter Singer Is Wrong
Thesis: Singer is wrong, I do not have a moral obligation to donate to global poverty relief.
Explanation: Peter Singer s argument about global poverty can be broken down into three
distinct steps. The first is easily accepted. Nearly everyone can agree that starvation, lack of
shelter and a scarcity of medical care is a bad thing. His next is also frequently acknowledged. If
we are able to donate without sacrificing anything morally significant we morally ought to do so.
However, it s Singer s third ideal where he loses most people, including myself. In his third
premise he states that by donating to aid agencies, we can prevent suffering from lack of food,
shelter and medical care without sacrificing anything morally significant. But that arises the
question. What is considered morally significant? Moral significance varies from one person to
another making it nearly impossible to determine a universal constant everyone can follow. Along
with that, this premise speaks entirely towards a financial donation of giving money to aid
agencies. This again raises speculation and concern as to how much money is morally significant to
give away from one person to another.
Argument: My biggest concern with Singer s premise of having a moral obligation ... Show more

Now I don t disagree with this statement. I too think that poverty should be dealt with on an even
playing field. But the fact of the matter is that it is not. The United States, along with other wealthy
nations does not receive funds at the same rate as other nations. Poverty stricken countries in Africa
are the most common territories to receive aid. Therefore, this argument becomes insignificant. If
we are to be treating poverty on the global scale, each person dealing with poverty should be
granted, not just the extremely poor

Superior Pharmaceuticals Memo
The purpose of this memo is to kindly bring to your attention that there is a need for the
implementation of a new training program at Superior Pharmaceuticals. Most of the employees at
Superior Pharmaceuticals have been facing challenges when handling their jobs. The company has
had to outsource professional personnel a number of times so as to ensure that tasks are completed
accordingly. This has ultimately led to an increase in overhead costs as the hired personnel usually
ask for high professional fees. In the long term, this has lessened the profit margins of the company
and this goes against our business focus. Implementing new training programs will ensure that the

Computer Science And Its First Leap Out Of Mathematics
In the beginning, there was Math; and for a long time after there was only Math. Computer
Science is a relatively new field compared to others such as Math, Communication, Philosophy,
etc. Computer Science could be boiled down to The study of how to compute . In this way of
looking at the field, you can see how it originated from people s desires to compute faster and more
complex problems. This desire led us to the abacus, mechanical calculators, and eventually to the
computer. Computer sciencetoday is the theory, design and application of computers. Today
computer scientists care about more than just solving complex math problems. They care about
solving complex global problems like curing disease, identity fraud, and getting people to Mars.
World War 2 is where the field of Computer Science made its first leap out of the shadows of
Mathematics. It was thanks to the military need to safely test new weapons of mass destruction
with the use of computer simulations that computers got their first push. The military s desire to
encrypt information that a team of humans could not decipher in a reasonable amount of time also
helped give rise to machines that could do more complex work than a single human and complete
them in faster times than a team of humans. It was various world governments looking to save
man power and resources that lead to the shift toward machines, that would one day be computers,
working for us. As important as World War II was for the birth of

  • 2. My First Semester At Mesa College This is my first semester at Mesa College. I am currently a Political Science major. The term that would best describe my current situation would be non traditional student. I graduated from high school in 2006. Since then I have gotten married, travelled the world, and had two children. While in high schoolI excelled and took part in many academic extra curricular activities. In the past ten years I have accumulated work and life experience. Most recently I was able to work as a legal assistant for an immigration firm. Being bilingual was beneficial, as was my interest in law in general. I plan on attending law school in the future which made the job appealing. As stated above the University of California San Diego is not in the most desirable location, however I believe it is the right choice after Mesa. UCSD is located in La Jolla at 9500 Gillman Drive (Make Waves,2016). The nearest four year university for me would be San Diego State University. I currently live in Chula Vista making UCSD a 28 minute drive time, not factoring in traffic (Travelmath,2016). In comparison SDSU would be a 17 minute drive. Brenda Antonio, a manager in the accounting department at UCSD, lives in my neighborhood and has stated that her average drive time on a weekday morning is an hour (Antonio,2016). An hour commute may sound like an inconvenience but there some positive aspects to a long commute. In a study done by the Australian National University it was found that many people enjoy their commute and, said this was the only time they got to themselves during the week, and so used it to dream, relax and meditate (Bissel, 2015). In addition, I personally enjoy driving and don t mind the commute. Although an hour long commute is not ideal there are certain options in order to reduce the negative aspects. Scheduling classes during low traffic times and maximizing the time spent commuting, like listening to books on tape, would ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Use Of Similes In Sylvia Plath s The Bell Jar One often hears the saying, Don t judge a man until you have walked a mile in their shoes. The way an author uses similes can help the reader better understand how the character feel and what they re going through like Sylvia Plath in The Bell Jar. Esther Greenwood, a college student, working at a month long job as a guest editor for a fashion magazine feels like an outcast from the rest of the girls; she doesn t seem to fit in. When she arrives back home, she receives several bad news leads her into thinking suicideis the best thing to do. After multiple failed attempts, she is put into a mental hospital where she will gain hope in life and finally discover who she really is. In Sylvia Plath s The Bell Jar, there are several instances in which the author uses similes to illustrate a more detailed image/description to better portray how the main character felt during her New York job, her suicide attempts, and at her stay at the mental institution. During The Bell Jar, Sylvia Plath used similes to highlight Esther s characteristic of a wallflower during her trip to New York. After Frankie, one of Lenny s friend abandones Esther, he is forced to take her and Doreen to his apartment. Lenny obviously wanting privacy with Doreen he asks her to go but Doreen defends Esther and says she will only go with the do any of her friend. From there on, Esther feels unwanted and ignored while she spends time at Lenny s place. Plath describes Esther s abandonment while Lenny and Doreen dance, I felt myself shrinking to a small black dot against all those red and white rugs and that pine paneling. I felt like a hole in the ground (Plath 16). Esther feels left out while her best friend and a stranger dance. The simile expresses how she felt invisible and ignored. The author tries to relate to the reader who once in their life may have felt outcastes or left out. Esther has a tendency to feel terrible about herself. From the beginning of the story, she explains how she feels different and not in the right place. The author wrote, The city had faded my tan, though. I looked yellow as a Chinaman. Ordinarily, I would have been nervous a about my dress and my odd color, but being with Doreen made me forget my ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Geography Of China Essay Geographical Location: China has great physical diversity. The east and south of the country consists of fertile lowlands and foothills, and is the location of most of China s agricultural output and human population. The west and north of the country is dominated by sunken basins (such as the Gobi and the Taklamakan), rolling plateaus, and towering massifs. It contains part of the highest tableland on earth, the Tibetan Plateau, and has much lower agricultural potential and population. Traditionally, the Chinese population centered on the Chinese central plain and oriented itself toward its own enormous inland market, developing as an imperial power whose center lay in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River on the northern plains. More recently, the 18,000 km (11,000 mi) coastline has been used extensively for export oriented trade, causing the coastal provinces to become the leading economic center. Climate: China Owing to tremendous differences in latitude, longitude, and altitude, the climate of China is extremely diverse, ranging from tropical in the far south to subarctic in the far north and alpine in the higher elevations of the Tibetan Plateau. Monsoon winds, caused by differences in the heat absorbing capacity of the continent and the ocean, dominate the climate. During the summer, the East Asian Monsoon carries warm and moist air from the south and delivers the vast majority of the annual precipitation in much of the country. Conversely, the Siberian ... • 9. Analysis Of Pam Jenkins, Steve Kroll Smith, And Vern Baxter In Left to Chance the authors: Pam Jenkins, Steve Kroll Smith, and Vern Baxter attempt to fill a book with details from the events leading up to and the aftermath of hurricane Katrina without explicitly talking about race. This is a new take on writing about hurricane Katrina because most books and articles out there use race as a backbone in describing how devastating the storm was. This decision was beneficial to the overall message of the book because even though the authors never brought up race, the people who were interviewed brought it up on their own volition, which consequently brought the issue of race along for the ride in the entirety of the book without the authors never having to explicitly say, because they were black. This perceived notion that race was a huge piece in the puzzle that was the newly decimated New Orleans, shows that even though there is a book that existed in all intents and purposes to NOT focus on race, race was obviously a very prevalent reason in why African Americans suffered the worse in the storm. Furthermore, the authors made an intelligent choice in deciding to choose two economically different black neighborhoods to focus their book on instead of writing about two poor, black neighborhoods, two white neighborhoods, or one white and one black neighborhood. The reason for this is because the two economically different black neighborhoods prove that it wasn t just a monetary reason for why African Americans were so devastated by the ... So, why should we consider meteorites to be possible parents? The truth is out there somewhere and these space rocks contain the essentials, as far down as to amino acids. Until now, what has been recovered has been regarded as structured. However, the matter of Tagish Lake arose. In January of 2000, a huge meteoroid exploded in our planet s atmosphere over Northern British Columbia in Canada, which resulted in falling debris over Tagish Lake, while frozen. Comparing the Marxist and Functionalist Views on the Role of Education in Industrial Society The functionalists and the Marxists both believe that the education system benefits everyone, but both have different views on society. The Marxist views of the education system are that there are conflicts because there is an inequality between the working class and the higher classes. They believe that there are two different classes which education produces, and that is the working class and the ruling class. The people who don t achieve good grades in school and who aren t very bright, will be known in society as the working class, and so won t have very good status jobs in society, and the people that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A functionalist named Emile Durkheim believes that the education system introduces the importance of social solidarity in people. He says Society can survive only if there exists among its members a sufficient degree of homogeneity; education perpetuates and reinforces this homogeneity by fixing in the child from the beginning the essential similarities which collective life demands. So he believes that social life would be impossible without social solidarity amongst people. Social solidarity is when a mass of individuals in a society is united as a whole, and when people learn to respect their community and look after one another and their surroundings. Education teaches people this at an early age, by giving history lessons because this provides a link between the individual and the society in which they live in. In particular, Durkheim s view are proved by the way pupils are taught in the U. S. A, where there educational curriculum has introduced the pupils to take an oath to the Stars and Stripes at the start of every school day, and so they are committed to their society at an early age. However a criticism to these norms and values that he talks about is that different people have different norms and values to one another. Personally, I can think of nothing more rewarding than helping people through dark times and giving hope for a brighter future. Deep down, I m an idealist with enough life experience to pepper my expectations. There are countless possible research topics within the mental health field, but I ve recently developed a deep appreciation of suicideprevention since volunteering for the Kern County Mental Health Hotline. I ve also become acutely aware of the relationship between suicide and mooddisorders, such as depression and bipolar disorder. According to the CDC, suicide is the second leading cause of death for people aged 15 34 years old, and the 10th leading cause of death overall. An estimated 90% of those who have died by suicide suffered from mental illness. That makes mental illness the top risk factor (NAMI, 2016). I was able to find these statistics quite readily, but I couldn t find anything relating specifically to mood disorders. Since I am not sure of what type of research already exists on the subject matter, a literature review would be the perfect place to start. This balance has been thrown off by many different things. Water seems to be one of the biggest problems with this offset balance. Water is a magic liquid keeping all of life thriving. Humans drink and use water, plants use water, water is used in everyday life, and it s slowly being taken away. In the future, there will be no water left to sustain life on earth. Ground water is a very important part of our fresh water supply and yet, it s depleting at a faster rate than what can be replenished. According to Kally Worm Groundwateris the second largest reserve of freshwater on earth. It also makes up 40% of the freshwater used in the U.S. alone. This ground water is usually found in what is called an aquifer. An aquifer is found towards the lower layers of the soil. The problem with these aquifers it that their recharge rate is slow making it non renewable. These water supplies being non re We are overusing these water supplies. When ground water is used to a level of where it can t recover, it affects the ground. Sinkholes can be formed when there is a aquifer that has water being drawn from it, but not letting it get back to par. North Korean Political Policies On North Korea Introduction Beginning in the early 1940 s, Korea has been a split nation; the great divide that happened in initially in 1945 was just the beginning of what would become one of the world s most infamous splits of a country. Radically different in political regime and agenda, these countries provide for a very complex case study of border conflict. Due to its extremely repressive regime, North Korea stands as one of the worst places to call home in the world, while South Korea is incredibly more liberal. Despite the inescapable amounts of propaganda imposed on the citizens of North Korea, the current generations of North Koreans hold ties to South Korea through separated family, making South Korea a very attractive but forbidden land. While South Korea continues to center its foreign policy on loosening the strict rule of the North Korean government, North Korea remains stubborn and the struggle remains in tow with the stark differentiation between ideologies politically, militarily, and culturally. That is, take any two goods or groups of goods from the store you have chosen and re do the questions in (4) as they would really apply to you and your tastes. What Schulz does is explain why overachievers or people who want to be perfect are stuck in this little box of perfection and that we need to get out. Being Wrong is one of the most natural things us as humans can do. It is something that everyone of us has done at one time or another, no one is ever perfect. And if so why don t we accept our wrongness, ignore or even get embarrassed by it. Schulz says that we have been taught perfection all the way back to grade school, and that if we as people didn t get everything right or perfect that we were stupid or... Barger explains his personally connection of why he believes in uncertainty. He is an evangelical Christian and a pastor, that struggled to accept the fact that he is gay since it was against the fundamentals of his religion. He was so certain that he wasn t homosexual for years but in the process he was actually hurting himself. Barger tells us that his belief in uncertainty is becoming greater due to all the certainty around him, for example religious leaders or members are very certain that their actions whether it be acts of terrorism or war will guarantee their place in heaven or with their gods. Certainty can drive people to do crazy things and to Barger it can almost be like your mind is in a prison, but just the simple act of being uncertain can make a man a better person. It would be interesting to ponder the possibility as to whether or not the thought of later times would have the same ground that it has if it were not for these great thinkers that came before. In the early period of Christianity, the influence of Plato s philosophical criticisms of art can be seen in effect in Augustine s view of the imagination as profane. One can question as to whether Augustine s view of original sin would have been so negative if he had not imbibed the Platonic conception of the Fall of the soul. Alfarabi is probably the least important of these, he is primarily significant because he was a pioneer in the invocation of Aristotle as a philosophical authority (essentially paving the way for the Golden Age of Muslim Aristotelianism). He is said to have believed in the unity of the thought of Plato and Aristotle. Also, his work shows a confluence of their theories. An example of this is his claim that God is simultaneously identical with the neo Platonic One and with Aristotle s Self Thinking Thought . When we look at Avicenna however, we find the development of a Muslim philosophy more independent of theological constraints as well as an Aristotelianism less apologetic to supposed Platonic doctrine (philosopheruk). With this being said, Avicenna rejects the conception of a divine creation of the world in time and follows Aristotle in considering the primary aim of philosophy to be the study of being qua being. Algazali demonstrated a critical backlash against the Aristotelianism of Avicenna, within the Islamic tradition. In his work The Incoherence of the Philosophers , he attacks the inconsistency of the philosophical positions of Alfarabi and Avicenna with orthodox Koranic interpretation (philosopheruk). This work is significant philosophically because it does not rule out the possibility of philosophy de jure, but rather points to the misuse of philosophy by both of his predecessors. In other words, he was concerned with the philosophical ideas of the eternity of the world and the rejection of bodily resurrection, ideas which he regarded not simply as theologically heterodox but as the result of a misapplication of Aristotelian logical ... Normally, Alexander would be at the park playing baseball with his friends or at the library. Today was different. A family trip, his mom had told him. But something seemed odd. The Bible is a unique book that is different from others because it contains sacred text that has continued to influence societies from generation to generation. Generally, the impact of this sacred book is worldwide since it has affected every department of human activity. The influence of the Bibleon society is derived from the fact that it contains various themes that are used to shape the moral progress of the world. In addition, the influence of this book is not restricted to Christians and Jews because it impacts more than 50 percent of the world population. One of the major ways that the Bible has influenced society is through its effects on politics, especially political thought and action. In most cases, the Bible is used as the basis for formation of laws and rules that govern society. The Bible and Politics: In today s society, there are Christians who have unhealthy focus on social and political issues to an extent that it is detrimental to their personal testimony and the gospel in general. On the other hand, there are those who argue that Christians should have minimal or nothing to do with politics (Specht, n.d.). However, these groups need to reconsider their views and beliefs based on what the Bible teaches regarding politics. To begin with, the media has very negative effect on society as a whole. The mass media movies, television, and recordings need to be regulated, and not only because of appeals to irresponsible lust (Lowenthal 19). In the past few years there have been a great number of school shootings. Many of these shootings were copied off of famous movie scenes and video games. These obscene aspects of the media need to be banned from children. Children are still learning the difference between rights and wrong, therefore adults need to take on this responsibility of censoring what children watch, read, play with, and listen to. Hate speech should also be banned. Free speech has a class line. It also has a class responsibility. One person s beliefs cannot cross the line into threats of violence. Free speech does not cover that (Albano 31). Those institutions most concerned with social fairness have proven to be the ones most likely to promulgate anti hate speech rules (Albano 30). Part of the reason seems to be recognition that hate speech can easily silence and demoralize its victims, discouraging them from participating in the life of the institution (Albano 30). If so, enacting hate speech rules may be evidence of a commitment to democratic dialogue, rather than the opposite, as some their opponents maintain (Albano 30). The Eyes Of Feminism By Simone De Beauvoir Of the first person to attempt to view history through the eyes of feminism, Simone de Beauvoir asserts that man is the great subject and woman is the other man is seen as essential, woman is not. Her primary argument is that men fundamentally oppress women by characterizing them as the other . The author also believes that women s inferiority in society is not a result of natural, sexual differences but rather of differences in the societal development of men and women. She argues that women are not born passive; rather, kept in a situation of inferiority , one becomes used to the fact that she is inferior (xxiv). Sex is a fixed physiological difference between males and females, usually assigned at birth. Gender , on the other hand, refers to the differences of a man and a woman determined by a particular culture and society that the individual belongs to. Socially constructed responsibilities, behaviors, and attributes for men and women are considered gender roles. According to Joan W. Scott, gender is used to designate social relations between the sexes (Joan Scott 1056). While aspects of biological sex are similar across different countries and cultures, aspects of gender and how ominously gender roles are emphasized may be different. In these manners, gender inequality refers to the unfair treatment and discrimination against individuals based on their gender and the imbalance between the sexes. Moreover, overworks should be done for 22.2 hours because workers should dry 13,300 barrels of the berries, but the drying capacity is only 600 barrel per hour besides the arrival rate is 1,210 barrels per hour. To solve this problem, I would recommend to add dryers ($25,000 per each and capacity increases 200 barrels per each) or wet bins ($5,000 per each and capacity increases 250 barrels per each) for short term. We can suggest three options to solve this matter. First, we can add no dryers but convert 15 bins. Second, we can add a dryer and convert 6 bins too. Third, we can add 2 dryers, not to convert any bins. As first option, we need only additional cost of $75,000, which is calculated by $5,000 x 15 bins. By practicing first option, the wet bin storage increases to 6,950, so we can cover all the arrivals of the berries this is done for not to make trucks to wait. In the second option, when we add a dryer, we can handle 800 barrels per hour in drying process and we can reduce the overworking time from 22.2 hour to 16.6 hour. (13,300 barrel / 800 barrel equals to 16.6 hours per a day) We can estimate overtime saved cost and it is closely related to labor cost. Labor cost ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The main task of switching technique is to establish connection between input and output channel inside the router. Circuit switched networks reserve a physical path before transmitting the data packets, while packet switched networks transmit the packets without reserving the entire path. Packet switched networks for communications within large multi core systems on chip are made for enhanced performance, scalability, modularity, and design productivity compared to busses and dedicated signal wires (R. Mutha, 2012). Circuit Switching Technique: In this technique an electrical interconnection is established between the source and destination and then the message is transmitted. This technique pre allocates resources or links across more than one hop to the entire message. Links must be reserved to transmit the entire message. For that a small setup message also called as a probe is sent into the network and reservation for the links needed to transmit the entire message or multiple messages is done from the source to the destination. Once the probe reaches the destination (having successfully allocated the necessary links), the destination sends back an acknowledgement message to the source. If we are able to donate without sacrificing anything morally significant we morally ought to do so. However, it s Singer s third ideal where he loses most people, including myself. In his third premise he states that by donating to aid agencies, we can prevent suffering from lack of food, shelter and medical care without sacrificing anything morally significant. Moral significance varies from one person to another making it nearly impossible to determine a universal constant everyone can follow. Along with that, this premise speaks entirely towards a financial donation of giving money to aid agencies. This again raises speculation and concern as to how much money is morally significant to give away from one person to another. The United States, along with other wealthy nations does not receive funds at the same rate as other nations. Poverty stricken countries in Africa are the most common territories to receive aid. Therefore, this argument becomes insignificant. If we are to be treating poverty on the global scale, each person dealing with poverty should be granted, not just the extremely poor ... • 50. Computer Science And Its First Leap Out Of Mathematics In the beginning, there was Math; and for a long time after there was only Math. Computer Science is a relatively new field compared to others such as Math, Communication, Philosophy, etc. Computer Science could be boiled down to The study of how to compute . In this way of looking at the field, you can see how it originated from people s desires to compute faster and more complex problems. This desire led us to the abacus, mechanical calculators, and eventually to the computer. Computer sciencetoday is the theory, design and application of computers. Today computer scientists care about more than just solving complex math problems. They care about solving complex global problems like curing disease, identity fraud, and getting people to Mars. World War 2 is where the field of Computer Science made its first leap out of the shadows of Mathematics. It was thanks to the military need to safely test new weapons of mass destruction with the use of computer simulations that computers got their first push. The military s desire to encrypt information that a team of humans could not decipher in a reasonable amount of time also helped give rise to machines that could do more complex work than a single human and complete them in faster times than a team of humans. It was various world governments looking to save man power and resources that lead to the shift toward machines, that would one day be computers, working for us. As important as World War II was for the birth of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
