Circumcision Is A Debating Procedure For Many Years
Circumcision has been a debating procedure for many years. It is a procedure that means cutting
off the foreskin, or ring of tissue that covers the head of the penis. Circumcision is said to have
started many years ago and is a big part is some religions. For example, according to the book of
Genesis in the Torah, god made a covenent with Abraham (a Jewish patriarch) in which Abraham
and his decendents would be given great land riches, and success. There was only one catch,
Abraham, his descendants, any slaves purchased or born in his house hold by the eighth day of life.
If any failed to do so then they would be separate from his people and live without the favor of god.
Untill this day Jewish people have lived by that and is a strong religious belief. This procedure on
the Jews was called a bris or brit milah.
Even though circumcision was practiced in different areas of the world, it was first documented in
art form by the Egyptians. They circumcised because they believed it was a method of purification.
It later started making its way to other cultures, but nobody really knows why the practice spread
nor why it even started.
Many other countries removed the foreskin because they believed it marked entrance into
adulthood, to humiliate enemies, to identify those with higher social status, to enhance or limit
sexual pleasure. Also having your penis circumcised helped make it easier to maintain clean.
Normally circumcision was done at the age where they thought was

Characteristics Of Odysseus A Hero
A hero is a character who has outstanding qualities and will go out of there way to help others.
But if you were to ask a group of people what they believe a hero is, most might say the same
thing. Many would say that its a person who would do anything to help others, including sacrificing
themselves for that cause. Odysseusmight look like a hero to some but if you were to look a little
deeper, he doesn t have that many qualities that a hero typically has. In the book, Odysseus does
nothing out of the honesty of his heart. Even if Odysseus fought in the Trojan War, he is not a hero
due to him being self centered and ignorant to other character s needs. Odysseus is not a hero
because he is 1. Odysseus is cold hearted 2. Odysseus is disloyal 3. Odysseus is self centered
Reason # 1:
Odysseus does not fit the piece of the hero profile which incorporates having a great heart.
Odysseus does not posses any of the traits that a hero has since he kills characters without giving
them a chance. Odysseus executed each one of the suitors in cold blood when the majority of
them didn t perpetrate a wrongdoing appropriate for capital punishment. He likewise executed the
majority of the house keepers who were assaulted by the suitors as though had a decision in the
issue. Odysseus likewise couldn t care less about his group individuals. At the point when Elpenor
tumbled off the rooftop at Circe s home, Odysseus didn t significantly try to cover him. He doesn t

Enrique s Journey Theme
Immigration affects families in many different ways. In the book Enrique s Journey by Sonia
Nazario, family is a core element. After Enrique s mother leaves for the U.S., the whole concept of
their family gets distorted. The walking out of Enrique s father and the abandonment of his
grandmother help to disband the familyeven more. Enrique also threatens to repeat the same
mistakes his family made with his daughter when he considers leaving her behind in Honduras.
Family is the central theme in Enrique s Journey because of his relationship and resentment with his
mother, the rejection of his father and grandmother, and Enrique s decision to leave his daughter,
Jasmin, behind. Enrique s mother, Lourdes, leaves for the U.S. to find work

Critical Analysis Of Star Wars

Critical Analysis of Star Wars Released in 1977, the original Star Wars movie quickly became
the highest grossing film of all time and it changed the way people thought of filmography. With
its unique special effects and storyline, it created a new era of Hollywood movies. It became a
huge blockbuster and eventually spawned a new universe that now spans several decades. The
films, now numbering six with three more being made, have a fan base of millions of people. In
order for a film (series) to have that large of a fan base, the fans must be able to relate to the film.
The Star Warsfilms are collectively a modern mythological narrative, meaning that it represents ...

This enables the dominant race to grant privileges to some while at the expense of others.
Entrance into this group is usually exclusive to one type of person (Kendall). In totalitarian and
dictatorial instances, such as in Star Wars, the line between the group in power and all others is
bold and easy to see. Those who are not members of the group in power are subject to
discrimination and have fewer rights and privileges in his or her society. The Star Wars films
provide both symbolic and concrete evidence of this racial disparity. George Lucas use of color
throughout the films is essential in the development of the narrative as well as to emphasize the
progression of the racial inequalities and prejudices between humans and aliens. The color
progression from The Phantom Menace to The Return of The Jedi acts as a sort of meter pertaining
to the collapse of the Republic and the rise of the Galactic Empire. The first film chronologically,
The Phantom Menace, employs bright, happy colors to convey hope and life. The vibrant colors
of Naboo, the underwater home of the Gungan s, and the interior of many key buildings are all
made up of colors that are synonymous with (relative) peace and innocence. As the Star Wars
prequels progress to A New Hope, the bright colors are overtaken by greys, blacks, and reds.
The warm color palette is synonymous with democracy, diversity, and

Guitar Concert Review
On September 8th, 2016 at 7:30 PM, a concert was held at Chabot College, Buffington Theater. A
concert was performed by many different musicians such as William Sauerland with voice; Rick
Flores with guitar , I really enjoy this performance because the guitar is one of my favorite
instruments. The next one is Percussion which performed by Timothy Harris, Joe Bonfiglio with
clarinet and Casey Hurt with pianoand voice; Beverly Johnston with flute, Eric Schultz with vibes
and electronics Deb Shider with oboe. There were 4 to 5 pieces performed by many musicians that
I had listed on top. In each performance, each one of them contained its own unique techniques ,
contents, tempo and rhythms, sound and voice. The first piece was performed by Timothy Harris.
His main instrument is a drum. In this instrument, the uniqueness about the drum is fast and it was
very easy to know. In this performed, Timothy Harris started his performing named Morris Dance .
This was a great performance because when he started to play the drum,... Show more content on

nailed it because, he played his song in a very emotional way. He really good at expressing his
feeling through the song with his lovely happy tones, rhythm, chords and melody. The fourth
piece was perform by Eric Schultz. It was really nice, it was a vibes and electronics vibes. This

Multinational Banks and Financial Institutions
People in the modern world keep their funds stored in some type of financial institution, whether
it s a small local bank that only operates in a small town or a large multinational bank that has
offices in every major city around the world and caters to millions of people. With the
responsibility of handling the assets of millions of people banks are sometimes accused for
activities that may be illegal, such as money laundering: the method of concealing illegally acquired
money or invasion of a client s account. Unlike small banks, Multinational banks are the most
susceptible to these accusations. Multinational banks have to abide to the laws of multiple
countries and any action they do could cause controversy, whether it s considered good in the banks
eyes or if it s genuinely bad. While fiscal government policies that affect revenue collection and
expenditure set the limits for multinational banks, ultimately multinational banks should be held to
a higher international set of regulations. Their actions may be legal in some countries while illegal
in others, causing various problems that could lead to the closure of offices in one country due to
an action in another. Therefore, an international governing body should be created to regulate t
multinational banks and keep from getting in trouble with national governments who have unique
restrictions. Over the past decade the banking system has globalized rapidly in foreign ownership
of bank assets. Gyongyi Loranth, a

Hair Straightener Research Paper
There are so many hair straighteners on the market today that it can become very confusing to
know which straightener to buy. There are straighteners with different plate materials (ceramic,
tourmaline, aluminum)and different sizes of plates, some are labelled ionic and some digital. How
do you know which is best? These tips should help you decide what you need and which is the best
straightener for you.
The first thing we will look at is the material of the plates. The most popular types of plates are
made of ceramic although some are made of tourmaline. These materials when heated create
negative ions. This is good for your hair because they counteract the positive charges in your hair
that get there by brushing and everyday activities and which make styling it difficult. The name

digital hair straightener that has a microprocessor built in.
Wet to Dry Straighteners. You can use a straightener that is specifically made to style your hair
while it is wet if you are in a hurry, even though it is best to straighten you hair when it is
completely dry. The moisture is allowed to escape your hair through stream in specially made
channels.
Having decided on a hair straightener, the next step is to learn how to use it properly. Here are
some tips to help;
You will want to make sure that you hair is dry and clean before you start to straighten it. Your
hair can be damaged if you try to style it when it is wet. For the best results do not use any
products that can cause build up on your hair because it will cause your hair to clump. To make
sure that you hair is in the best condition for hair straightening you will want to wash your hair with

The Disappearance of the Bees Essay
The Disappearance of the Bees If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe then man
would only have four years of life left. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no
more animals, no more man. The quote above is often attributed to Albert Einstein but was
actually believed to have been said by this brilliant man is not true. It was originally written down
by Maurice Maeterlinck in his work The Life of the Bee in 1901( Exploring the origins of
quotations ). But the position being taken today is not about who actually truly made this quote but
the truths that can be attributed to it. The warning in which it represents and the fear of its
possibility, since it has been noticed that the Bees are disappearing.... Show more content on

Another event more recently was reported in Pennsylvania where Keepers reported a 53% loss
of their hives. But what made this event most serious was the loss of 1/3rd of bee hives within
the United States as a whole. This event appeared to have no particular rhyme or reason for this
cause and no singular circumstance could be pointed to as an exact cause of such mass
destruction of one species that is crucial to food production within the United States ( Honey
Bees and Colony Collapse Disorder ). Value of the honey bee: The honey bee is vital to an
estimated $117 billion annual production of crops through pollination within the United States
more than a half of the food that humans consume has a correlation with the bee either directly
or indirectly. The USDA reports the following food products would be immediately damaged if
no bees were available to pollinate: This information is only the tip of the iceberg dealing only
with crop worth/food but does not mention the incalculable amount bees have on the ecosystem
as a whole ( Vanishing Bees ). Many plants rely heavily on bees as their main pollinator to
reproduce. The main fear is that even though many flowers also rely on mammals and other
insects to assist in the pollination process, bees are the biggest and most vital source of this life
cycle. As the bees disappear the reproduction process of many plants does not happen as efficiently
thus less plants are produced, this

One Of These Days By Gabriel Garcia Marquez
In the story One of These Days by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, it is narrated in the third person. The
story is looked through a non biased perspective, because the narrator describes neither Aurelio

Mayor and the dentist, instead he opens readers imagination. The narratortells the story by
describing the environment and behaviors of main characters. After the Mayor entered Escovar

Put It In Space Analysis
put it in space. When a $280 million mission is looked upon as cheap it is safe to assume that
space exploration is indeed very expensive. The cost of the International Space Station alone has
been estimated to cost about $142 billion (Thompson). Due to high costs, people question why
money is being put toward space explorationwhen there are large amounts of human suffering on
Earth. It seems as though putting even a small fraction of the money that is used to support space
programs and exploration towards aid to areas and countries that are suffering would solve many
problems. For reasons such as this, many critics feel as if the money would be better spent here on
Earth rather than in the great unknown that is space.

Advantage And Disadvantage Of Indian Students
Indian students prefer abroad to study in huge numbers, and have therefore become an important
source of global diversity, research power and revenue for educational institutions offering higher
education in the world.
Although, the last couple of years has seen a steady decline in the total number of Indian students
opting for courses abroad, today students as young as 17 years are seen seeking information on
foreign countries from education advisors or surfing education portals to get a clear picture about
the college abroad.
The reasons are plentiful. Need for global exposure and lack of opportunities back home are the
major reasons. The flexible functioning of educational institutions abroad is another attraction.

Family Law Attorney
If you have come to a point in your life when you could use the services of a family law attorney
you may be struggling with how to select the right divorce attorney. There are several differences in
law firms that you can use to narrow your selections down.
Some of the factors that will affect your selection of a family law attorney are:
Confidence
A divorce attorney has to be aggressive enough to go after what you want from the dissolution of
the marriage. When you go to the free consultation visit you need to ask the divorce attorney
exactly what they will do to represent you. You want them to answer with confidence, to have
knowledge, experience, and determination. When you hire a divorce attorney you need a pit bull

When you call for a consultation at some firms you will have to wait several days, or even weeks.
If the office manager has to call you and postpone your consultation visit you may be dealing with
a law firm that does not have time to accept your case.
Experience
When you are comparing law firms that handle family matters like child custody, divorce, and trust
funds, you want someone that has experience dealing with the issues you might be facing. You
want a law firm that has dealt with many different types of family law matters so that they will be
prepared to handle anything that might come up during your case.
Affordability
Unfortunately you will have to consider the amount of money that the law firm charges to handle
cases like yours. Legal representation can be quite expensive unless you carefully select a law
firm that has prices you can afford. Some law firms have payment plans that they offer their
clients, and some of them postpone payment until the divorce is finalized because the other party
may be responsible for some of your legal expenses. You must bring up the matter of fees at your
first meeting and establish how much you can afford before you decide on the law

Boutique Hotels
INTRODUCTION
Objective
The objective of this report is to analyze the boutique hotel industry in Sri Lanka and the trends of
the industry at present and the key issues likely to change the formation of the industry in the
future. Tourism in Sri Lanka has been booming since the war came to an end also the recovery of
the global recession also has led to an increase in the number of tourists visiting the country.
Therefore the need to cater to the foreigners has led to the growth in the emerging Boutique Hotel
Industry. Demand for these hotels is increasing also due to the increasing standards of living of the

Both the design and style of city boutique hotels are far different from the traditional resort boutique
hotels. Modernism, and the interpretation of the 21st Century at times matched with historical
material and art are known to be modern, and found in most city boutique hotels. Technology is an
huge factor, whether it is technology that enhances the ambience and makes emotional contact
between the guests and the hard attributes of the building (such as lighting and music), or
technology that is provided for the convenience of hotel guests (such as in room DVD players, flat
screen television sets, cordless phones, and computers with high speed Internet access and the latest
monitor genres).Entertainment in boutique hotels is an important part in creating a lively, chic and
trendy mind set. However, in the boutique hotel concept, entertainment is not limited to events such
as live music and performances; the idea of a boutique hotel is entertainment in its own nature: a
hip restaurant, lounge, and bar; an exceptional theme; and visually spectacular decorations.

Executive Summary This paper reviews the mechanical behavior of geopolymers after exposing to
high temperatures. The review begins with a brief overview of geopolymers and examines the
extant literature on the mechanical behavior of geopolymers after exposing to high temperatures by
artificial intelligent techniques. The final and compressive strength of geopolymers is also
discussed. Finally, this review examines studies on genetic programming as a technique of
modeling the performance of materials and in particular, geopolymers. This paper focuses on the
general and specific aspects of genetic programming on geopolymers, and summarizes its
importance. Further, this review features genetic programming as applicable to geopolymers as a
method of predicting the effect of temperature on their mechanical behavior. From the review, it
emerges that geopolymers that resist the action of loads that tend to reduce their sizes, exhibit high
compressive strength.

New Money Class Of The Middle Class
New Money Class is relatively new on the social ladder and makes up about 15% of the
population. New money includes people whose wealth has been around only for a generation or

rather than inheriting it. Unlike the members of the upper class, they do not have a family
associated with old money.
Examples: Oprah Winfrey, Michael Jordan, Bill Gates, and other celebrities, athletes, and business

WHERE DO WE STAND TODAY? .......... CALL TO ACTION
Nevertheless, in (1865) slavery was outlawed after the Civil War, but some believe it was
replaced by another prejudicial system a caste system based on race. Though whites could no
longer own slaves, they still considered themselves to be superior to people of African descent.
They insisted on separate recreational, educational, and other facilities for themselves and their
families and even prevented intermarriage between people of different races. Before this time, one

in the United States today.
With that being said, I challenge you today to take a stand on the call of Karl Marx s visions from
the 18th century. Where he imagined that the Workers would develop a true class consciousness, or
a sense of shared identity based on their common experience of exploitation by the bourgeoisie. The
workers would unite and rise up in a global revolution. Once the dust settled after the revolution, the
workers would then own the means of production, and the world would become Communist. No

The United States And Soviet Union Essay
The 1980 s were a dynamic time in the life cycle of the Cold War. The early portion of this decade,
which saw massive shifts in the administrations of the United States and Soviet Union, maintained
an atmosphere of suspicion, wariness, and skepticism. This theme of uncertainty and caution was
the logical product of decades of both American and Soviet duplicity, confrontation, and
militarization. Yet, despite this mistrust between the polar Cold War
belligerents, and contrary to the
early rhetoric of the Reagan administration, the United States and Soviet Union modified their
perceptions of each other s intentions following 1985 s Reykjavik Summit, which, despite
producing no tangible results, established common desire for arms reduction and a conclusion of
the Cold War. This warming of relations, however, increased at a gradual rate and encountered
significant hurdles as the two nations attempted to limit the potential for thermonuclear war.
Ultimately, Ronald Reaganand Mikhail Gorbachevs dialogue of the eyes transitioned from one
administration to the next, while also weathering significant domestic pressures as the United
Soviet Socialist Republic disintegrated.
Doubt and insecurity largely characterized the Cold War in the late 1970s and early stages of the
Reagan presidency. Following the rise and fall of dГ©tente, the collapse of the Nixon

The Expansion During The Wilhelmine Period In Germany And...
The expansion during the Wilhelmine period in Germany and the sociopolitical factors of that
time helped start a war that more than Germany alone were responsible for starting. This war,
that started in 1914, came to be known the Great War and was later known as World War I. This
war was a defining moment in German and world history as a whole. Although Germany was not
solely responsible for starting the war, there were certain actions that Germany did to help lead to
World War I.
Although more countries than Germany itself is responsible for starting the first World War,
Germany in its history to become a nation performed certain actions that helped guide the world
toward war. War after war was fought in order to solidify Germany as a nation both politically
and morally. These wars gave the German people a sense of unity but also fueled rage, hatred,
and fear by those that Germany defeated along its path to become a nation. These feelings are
not easily forgotten. These feelings could be seen rising up during World War I by the nation of
France, who was defeated earlier by the Germans over land disputes as part of Germany s quest
to become a nation, one of the allied powers in the war. As another result of these wars and the
quest to build Germany into a nation, Bismark put together a web of complex treaties with varies
nations in Europe. These same treaties where then unraveled by William so that Germany could
advance as a civilization. Through the actions that the Germans took in order to become a nation
did not see them making too many friends as it made them enemies. It is these actions that lead the
nations of France, England, and Russia to go on edge and distrust Germany and build an arsenal to
defend themselves. When a nation displays the actions that Germany displayed it leads people, and
nations alike, to believe that they are aggressive and that they plan to take military action against
them in order to expand. This then causes distrust and fear that lead people to take certain measures
so when the time comes for war they can defend themselves. As those nations build their arsenals
tensions grow even higher. As these tensions grow high, countries form allies with other countries

The span of time from the Victorian age of Literature to the Modernism of the 20th century wrought
many changes in poetry style and literary thinking. While both eras contained elements of self
scrutiny, the various forms and reasoning behind such thinking were vastly different. The Victorian
age, with it s new industrialization of society, brought to poetry and literature the fictional

questioning, Do I dare? (38) and Do I dare/ disturb the universe? (45 46) which reflects his own
personal conflict as he struggles to decide on whether he should take action, any action in his own
life.
Although these monologues contain the same elements of self questioning, they are vastly
different, both in style and in tone. The bishop of Browning s poem sees himself as a great man,
How I earned the prize! (33). He orders this stately tomb of lapis (102) and antique black basalt
(53 54), a tomb so rich such as a king or queen might be deserving of. This gives us a clear picture
that he thinks highly of himself, and he wants others to see the same, even after he is dead, the
tomb much like a shrine of great importance.
In contrast, Alfred J. Prufrock of Eliot s poem, feels no such greatness in himself. He is filled with
vast uncertainty so that every small decision is wrought with conflict, and as such, he never does
anything. I have measured out my life with coffee spoons (51) shows us that his life was
characterized by small measures, having done no great work. I am no prophet (84) and Am an
attendant lord, one that will do (112) characterizes his view of himself,

College Students and Depression
College Students and Depression
College students face many adversities as they transcend their collegiate careers. Depression is a
major factor that haunts students since the first day they walk into their first lecture. It is extremely
alarming that in 2009, the American College Health Association found that 9.2 percent of college
students at all types of institutions reported being diagnosed with depression, and 9.4 percent with
anxiety (Fogg. B14 B15). However, most researchers believe that this statistical percentage is
much higher. What exactly is depression? Depression in terms of psychology is, a sign of
psychiatric disorder or a component of various psychoses, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Also, the Stafford loans are not enough to support a person during college. The paper work and
terminology in acquiring these loans is also tremendously difficult and puts a strain on the student
who has to do this every year. It is extremely stressful on knowing whether or not you are going to
be able to attend college next semester and can plague the student through the rest of their
collegiate experience. For example Amy began to notice depression setting in because of her
student loans. It was probably during sophomore year when I got a notice from FAFSA that my
financial aid did not go through. I had no money, and I needed to live at campus. It was stressful,
but I got it worked out after a couple of weeks, but it was pretty much down hill from there. The
stress just kept piling up with all the schoolwork, plus I missed my family. The only thing that
made me feel ever the slightest bit better was partying and drinking and going home for weekend.
(Collins). This shows that debt can be the instigating force that pushes toward other depression
inducing factors such as alcohol. As more and more students enroll in college and seek money, the
higher the risk for depression. The affect of depression on college students is extremely harmful in
the progression of education. The factors of depression can contribute to the progression of
depression well past the collegiate years. The one aspect that has the greatest effect of prolonging

Role Of Government As An Entrepreneurial Environment
1.Introduction Role of Government in creating an entrepreneurial environment Creating suitable
conditions for new business to start and thrive, enabling existing firms to grow by developing new
products and services in new markets through appropriate tax policies, supportive physical
infrastructure, provision for training and information, promoting incubation facilities, research and
development facilities and entrepreneurship education are just some of the means by which
governments can encourage entrepreneurship in a country and its regions (Mitra, 2012, p.223). The
role of the government is to encouragement to entrepreneurs, entrepreneurial activities and
entrepreneurial organisation by facilitating them with opportunities and favouring policies.
Government policy for entrepreneurship The government must structure its policies in such a way
that it nurtures an entrepreneurial environment and allows effective opportunities for
entrepreneurial firms to grow and make an impact towards national economic development. By
focusing on existing, new and nascent entrepreneurs, entrepreneurship policy focuses on the change
of process acknowledging the need to respect antecedents and consider future opportunities. (Mitra,
2012, p.227) The focus on the process of change disregards the organizational unit, and deals more
with the task or the facilitate environment in which opportunities are identified and realized. A
proper study of entrepreneurship policy could examine

an informal chain of command. As you are aware, I was the Flight Director for Apollo 13.
During that mission, as soon as we knew there was a problem we moved quickly to diagnose the
situation and frantically devised a way to get the astronauts safely back to earth. From my
experience, I believe that once you think of surrendering that is the path that you go down. As
soon as you start thinking that way, you really have lost the mental sharpness, the mental edge that
is going to take this survival situation and bring it to a successful conclusion. Sadly, the culture
that was present when I was there is noticeably absent. Linda Ham s attitude is a prime example of
that. She believed that she could not do anything about the problem and did not want to spend the
resources to pursue a solution. That is appalling. If I had taken the same attitude as her, then the

The Best Kind of Sex Education
There is much controversy over which form of sex education should be taught, comprehensive sex
education, or abstinence only sex education. The definition for comprehensive sex education is
responsible and balanced sexuality education that seeks to assist young people in understanding a
positive view of sexuality, provide them with information and skills about caring for their sexual
health, and help them acquire skills to make decisions now and in the future. It is medically
accurate and provides information about abstinence and contraceptives as tools to prevent
unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. On the other hand, abstinence only sex
educationis a form of sex education that teaches abstinence from sex. This type of sex education
promotes sexual abstinence until marriage and avoids discussion of use of contraceptives.
Comprehensive sex education goes against some family morals and encourages teenagers to have
sex. But abstinence only sex education does not teach students enough about sex or how to protect
themselves from STDs and pregnancy. Comprehensive sex education should be mandatory in all of
our nation s schools.
In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, sex education was strongly effected by Victorian values.
Sex education at that time taught that sexually transmitted diseases were the result of punishment
for immoral behaviors. The discussion over what to teach children about sex in school occurred as
early as 1912. In the 1950 s the

the natural resources, cherish the history and romance as a sacred heritage, for your children

beauty, its riches or its romance. This quote about protecting the environment is just as important

The Complex World of Search Engines Essay
Search engines are a rather popular in today s society. Why, one may ask? Search engines provide
a way for one to quickly and efficiently find information scattered across the enormous network of
servers known as the World Wide Web. Imagine having to search through the millions of websites
just to find something as simple as a recipe for a sandwich!
While at first the science behind search engines may sound like a foreign language, the GIST of
the matter is basically as follows: the search engine sends spiders, which are a form of software
robots (HowStuffWorks), which browse throughout the Internet for sites containing a person s
query or similar, depending on the search engine. As it continues through, engine keeps a list of ...

Welcome to the wonderful world of computer software engineering and web development, or as it
more commonly known, coding. In this section, one will learn the programming languages used to
develop a search engine.
One of the most important programming languages for building a search engine is HTML, or
Hypertext Markup Language. Hypertext Markup Language is the programming language used to
make generally every webpage. It is used to create text boxes, hyperlinks, images, et cetera.
Sometimes another markup language, PHP, or Hypertext Preprocessor, is used which has the
benefit of also being a server side scripting language.
An important use for the markup language parts of both is the use of meta/ tags. Meta tags are
used for search engines like Yahoo! that use them to create a description for their search engine
ranking. They can also be used for keywords, content type descriptions, and for the Robot Exclusion
Protocol (Search Engine Watch).
The Robot Exclusion Protocol is actually a Meta tag attribute. It is used typically to tell search
engines to not index a webpage. It is also sometimes used to let search engines know whether or
not to follow links on the page (Search Engine Watch).
Another essential programming language of any webpage is CSS, or Cascading Style Sheets.
These style sheets are used to add styles, such as fonts, backgrounds, text sizes, et cetera, to one s
website (W3C). Without the use of style sheets,

whenever the case is resolved. . So while the original damages period covered 2004 2012, the

and MasterCard have earned many billions of dollars of additional, wrongful profits in the
ensuing 5+ years; profits that would be open to treble damages at trial. Beyond the addition of
cardholders into the equation, the new complaints primary liability claims are largely the same. .
In general, the complaints allege that Visa and MasterCard engaged in a conspiracy to restrain
trade and monopolize acceptance of their credit and debit cards to the detriment of merchants (and

issues: Debit Routing and Durbin: New Claim for Relief. . Plaintiffs claim that Visa implemented
new fees and policies after The Durbin Amendment went into effect at the end of 2011, including
the Fixed Acquirer Network Fee (FANF) and the PIN Authenticated Visa Debit Mandate (PAVD),
policies still in place, that frustrate debit competition. . It is unclear what, if any, damages may be
attributable to this conduct. EMV Implementation: New Claim for Relief.

Theme Of Disguises In King Lear
People put a large amount of effort into appearing a certain way. Many try to look wealthier than
they seem or try to act more intelligent than they are. These pictures that people hold up in front
of themselves are disguises, and in the case of King Lear, characters use these disguises to create
illusions of power, love and as a way to protect themselves. However, not only does the appearance
of a particular person deceive, but also the eyes of the person watching them. In King Lear,
Shakespeare employs the motif of eyes and sight to emphasize how appearances deceive and cannot
be trusted.
In the first scene Regan and Goneril deceive King Lear with their words, flattering him in order
to obtain more land. By lying to Lear about their love and devotion to him, Regan and Goneril
believe that he will reward them. However, as the sisters later portray, they have no love for their
father, but are only driven by their greed. Because they lust after power, and Lear had the most
authority before he split his kingdom, they begin to strip away what little influence and control he
had left. Edmund was another character who deceives his father by what he says. He tricks his
father, the Earl of Gloucester, into believing that his legitimate brother, Edgar was plotting to
overthrow him and take control of all that Gloucester owned. Through his soliloquy, Edmund
tells of his jealousy toward Edgar, and he plots the downfall of his brother because he wants
power, and because he wants to have all the privileges of a legitimate heir. First questioning,
Why brand they us? (1.2. 9) because he believes that bastards are stronger, more motivated
because the love that conceives them is truer, and they contain, More composition and fierce
quality. (1.2. 12).while Edgar was the result of a dull, stale, tired bed. (1.2. 13). Unlike the sisters
and Edmund, the Earl of Kent changes his appearance out of duty to the King. He is Lear s ally, a
close confidant and completely loyal to the King. When Lear banished him, Kent returns, wishing
to still serve the King, but must do so disguised as the servant, Caius. Disguising himself strips him
of his power and authority, and he assumes the role of an impoverished man helping Lear. In

Tacho together and convinces them to go with her on this quest. On this adventure into the north
they come across many difficult situations; they are caught crossing the border, attacked multiple
times by strangers and separated throughout the story. Eventually Nayeli crosses the States and
discovers her father despite the troubles she faces. Although the girls and Tacho run into many
problems, they were able to gather men on their way through America. Urrea shares this story and

The Impact Of Organizational Activity On The Performance...
The preeminent feature of organizational activity is its programmed character: behavior is an
enactment of (more or less) pre established routines: At any given time, a government consists of
existing organizations, each with a fix set of standard operating procedures and programs. The
behavior of these organization and consequently of the government is therefore, determine
primarily by routines established in these organizations prior to that instance . (Allison 1971: 81)
The more standardized these procedures are, the less discretionary is to carry them out. The
downside is that responses may become less appropriate to surprising and non expected events.
The 27F crisis is a suitable case to analyze the performance of a large scale organization like the
State and its patterns of response to external problems. Allison s model establishes that to perform
complex routines, the behavior of a large number of individuals must be coordinated and that such
coordination requires standard operating procedures: rules that determine what/how things are
done. I will add that SORs never self generated but depends on leaders that decided which
organizations, what programs and where to proceed. Hence, reliable performance of action that
depends upon the behavior of hundreds of persons requires well established programs (Allison,
1971). In this case, there was a protocol in place that clearly indicated those responsible for
gathering, analyzing and communicating the information.

Importance Of Religion In Ancient Egyptians
The ancient Egyptians had a polytheistic religion which was followed by all citizens with a strict
set of moral codes and beliefs. This strictness of religion even spread into Egyptian government with
kings being responsible for communication with the gods, as well as actively maintaining and
changing the religionin every reign. Naturally, if these Egyptian morals and beliefs were able to
spread into the government of ancient Egyptand gain a significant importance, they most certainly
were present in the lives of Egyptian citizens. Ancient Egyptian morals, beliefs, and pieties were
meant to be attempts used by priests in order to communicate and understand with the gods. This
means that ancient Egyptians were required to act in certain ways, perform certain tasks, and
blindly follow certain people in the hopes it would lead to a good relationship with their gods and
a rewarding afterlife.
Priests were considered a representation of the general public, as they were the only ones who
were considered able to enter the sacred area of the temple and approach the statue representing
the god or goddess in order to achieve communication between the priests and the gods. Priests
were regarded as a scribal class most times over being a religious class. Many of the religious duties
of the gods were given to the current pharaoh over anyone else. Priests still had religious duties,
and performed them well; priests took care of the gods and a small extent of the people s needs.

Different Paths of Enlightenment in Siddhartha by Herman...
Throughout Siddhartha, Herman Hesse demonstrations the different paths to enlightenment
through the use of memorable characters such as Siddhartha and Govinda. Siddhartha and Govinda

closer to enlightenment, or the knowledge of self, sought by everyone around them. Siddhartha
believes that life has more to offer than praying and meditating like his father. Govinda, who is less

finance their education. Like any other loan, student loans must be paid off in a timely manner to
avoid hurting personal credit for future investments. The government has various student loan
programs to assist students with not only paying for college, but also with paying off these loans
after college. The most common type of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It may feel like free money to the pockets when receiving the refund checks, but all of it needs to
be paid back at a point. This is a common mistake made by students during their college careers.
Managing finances when in school is a crucial part of building a credit history because student
loans tend to be the first type of credit for those in college. It is also the first type of real debt
incurred by many. Late loan payments seriously harm credit records and ruin a credit history for
years. This is why paying off these loans is the safest way to go when building a positive credit
history. Late payments that add up often pose as obstacles when taking out auto loans and
mortgages as well. This is only fair, because if a student fails to carry out the responsibility of
paying back a student loan, then they are not proven responsible when it comes to other types of
credit either. (smartmoney.com) Late loan payments indeed take a toll on an individual s credit
history. When a loan payment has not been made for two hundred seventy days after it was due,
that student loan is considered to be in default. The defaulted loan is turned over to a collection
agency, and the government notifies every credit bureau. This information remains on an
individual s credit report for seven years. Not paying the defaulted loan as soon as possible means
having federal income tax refunds withheld and added to

Narratire In The Raven And Neighbor Rosicky
Throughout the freshman year English course I enjoyed reading many excellent works of literature,
but none stood out to me as much as The Storyteller, The Raven, and Neighbor Rosicky. The short
story, The Storyteller by Saki (H. H. Munroe), holds another unusual tale within itself and cleverly
uses satire against society s teachings. For example, it is clear that the bachelor half mocks the aunt
when he starts his story with, there was a little girl...who was extra ordinarily good. To let the
children entangle themselves in plenty of imagination about the unusual girl, the bachelor uses the
words horribly good at the start of his story. Because of her inability to tell the children a decent
story, The Storyteller ends with the bachelor admonishing the aunt. This illustrates the aunt s
hopeless and almost comical situation at the beginning of the story, which makes this... Show more

One of the devices he uses relentlessly throughout the entire poem is alliteration, especially in
stanza 14 where the s and the f sounds are constantly repeated all in just two lines. Following a
rhyme scheme of ABCBB, the poem bestows an almost hypnotizing feeling upon its readers.
Furthermore, Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary... is an example
of Poe s internal rhymes, which give the poem even more depth. Poe s use of similes such as And
his eyes have all the seeming, of a demon s that is dreaming... are strong and emphasized
throughout the poem, making it all the more interesting. Metaphors are also detailed and
constantly give vivid imagery. Finally, plenty of personification is used to describe the raven, such
as as if his soul in that one word he did outpour. Even though the subject of the poem is somewhat
morbid, it is one I recommend everyone to enjoy for its dynamic

Analysis Of The Book Gates By Paul Andrews And Stephen...
Choice Book Essay Recently, I read the book Gates, how Microsoft s mogul reinvented an
industry and made himself the richest man in America by Paul Andrews and Stephen Manes in
1994. This was of course, during the time period when Apple was failing, and released an
operating system, System 9, that nobody needed nor wanted in 1994. IBM sure wished they haven
t filed those separation papers now, when Microsoftstock stormed overhead, selling out of
Windows 95 in less than two days globally. Over 2 million copies in fact, and the first publically
available windows that didn t run on top of MS DOS, our ancient overlord. This book told the
secret life of the ruler of the entire technology industry all the way to present day. The main
author is one of my favorites, since he wrote many articles on PC world, and gave a somewhat
honest review of Windows Vista, of course after Microsoft fired one of their top software
engineers. Stephen Manes was even mentioned on the Personal Computers columnist for the
Science Times section of the New York Times, and another on InformationWeek. At this time he
was even a successful editor for PC Magazine, PC/Computing, PCjr, and Net guide. Marketing
Computers also ranked him as one of the top 4 influential writes about the computer industry. He
also wrote over 30 books for many audiences from children to young adults, including Chicken Trek.
After placing in the International Reading Association Children s Choice awards, and winning those

Legalization Of Marijuana On The Economy
Chelsea Ballew
Mr. Harrington
Writ 101, 72
31 March 2015
Legalization of Marijuana on the economy
If one were told that the United States had all of the answers to their economic issues growing
within their country wouldn t people take advantage of it? Even if the solution was currently
considered as an illegal substance. George Shaw stated, If history repeats itself, and the unexpected
always happens, how incapable must Man be of learning from experience. Mr. Shaw s wisdom
particularly applies to the current debate on the legalization of cannabis, and if it should be legal
state or nationwide. The present day prohibition on marijuana is not any different than the past
prohibition on alcohol in the roaring 20 s. The legalization of marijuana, similar to alcohol not only
means more money for the government, but also more revenue, jobs, and savings. The debate can
be tough to follow with all of the political jargon. Americans must keep in mind that is substantial
to find a solution to the lingering question, should marijuana be legalized? It is vital for the United
States to end the expensive and uneconomical prohibition. Besides the infinite reasons for
legalization such as ending panic over drugs, lowering crime rate and ending drug related pollution
there is one clear motive for legalization, the money. The Huffington Post reported The government
would save an estimated $13.7 billion on prohibition enforcement costs and tax revenue by
legalizing marijuana. How is it

Modern Social Media And All Forms Of Print Alike
Modern social media and all forms of print alike have become overrun with advertisements.
These ads become distractions to the readers and take their mind away from the sole purpose of
the articles. More specifically, this advertisement featured in Men s Health magazine from March
of 2015, shows a full back cover dedicated to LA Muscle. This company sells a large merchandise
line of dietary supplements and workout enhancing products appealing to males ages 16 40.
Starring in this ad is their Gold LA WheyProtein. Their ads have been known to catch readers off
guard and steal their attention from the actual magazine. With the sophisticated text, colors, and
images, this ad hits Men s Health readers with intimidation, current trends, and image coaxing them
into purchasing their over priced, no guarantee product. First off, LA Muscle immediately grabs the
readers attention by rhetorically asking, Protein is protein, right? WRONG. This statement is meant
to make readers question whether or not the protein they currently use compares to the one that is
being marketed to them. The word WRONG is boldly printed, to intimidate readers and make them
second guess themselves for thinking all protein is the same. The strong emphasis on this word
quickly grabs the readers attention. Even those readers who have done their research about their
supplements may be swayed into thinking that their opinion on the most beneficial protein could
not be correct. This tactic works

The Contributions Of William Clark And Camp River Dubois
In December 1803 William Clark established Camp River Dubois at the confluence of the
Mississippi and Missouri Rivers, north of St. Louis. While there he recruited and trained men,
while Lewis spent time in St. Louis, conferring with traders about the Upper Missouri regions
and obtaining maps made by earlier explorers. On May 14, 1804 William Clark and the Corps of
Discovery left Camp River Dubois, and were joined by Meriwether Lewis in St. Charles,
Missouri. The party numbered over 45, and included 27 young, unmarried soldiers, a French Indian
interpreter, and Clark s Black slave York. An additional group of men, engagГ©s, would travel only
to the Mandan country for the first winter, and these included six soldiers and several French
boatmen.

Economics Overview
The Verizon Center, formerly know as the MCI Center, is a 220,000 square foot arena that can
hold around 20,000 built in 1997 (Casey, 64). This new construction brought new life to downtown
D.C. In response, the Wizards saw a 100 percent increase in their advertising returns when they built
a new stadium (Mayer, 199). The Verizon Centeris also home to the WashingtonCapitals, a
professional hockey franchise. The stadium became a a key element in the revitalization of the city
s Downtown... it changed the city s vision of the type of place that could be created in the
Washington, DC submarket (Rizzo, 43). There is no doubt that this center became a central point of
the D.C. area. It continues to brings in around 2.5 million spectators a year between the multiple
franchises it houses
Graphed above are Forbes yearly database numbers for the Washington Wizardsfranchise in the
areas of player expenses, operating income, revenue, wins to player cost ratio and value (Rizzo,
44). Since the arena was built, ... the city has received over $1 million in tax revenues because of
the development and created several thousand new jobs (Johnson, 22). There is no doubt that this
center became a central point of the D.C. area, as it still assists the local economy.
Culture
While the Verizon Center is small, the community surrounding the organization has made their
rather compact arena much bigger. Downtown is full of people on game days so

Suspicion Exposed In The Lottery, By Shirley Jackson
Shirley Jackson, an American gothic writer, was born in San Francisco in 1919. She enrolled at
the University of Rochester in New York, dropped out after a couple years, and later in 1937,
enrolled at Syracuse University, initiating a career of a lifetime. Jackson seized bits of her writing
from her lifetime obsession with mental anguish ( Introduction ). Her tales reflect a flawless
surface and as the reader dives deeper, the image becomes distorted. Suspicion grows. Now the
reader is entangled in pure terror. Shirley Jacksonspun a fascinating spider web, in The Lottery,
which proves true to this day. It deals with the belief that if the community sacrifices one of its
own, the gods will provide a bountiful harvest. Lottery in June,

Western Catholic Religion
Catholics believe in one God known as the Father and creator of heaven and earth and all of the
things they contain. Through Him all things were made. God gave up his only begotten son,
Jesus Christ, who was crucified, tortured, and killed in order to save us from our sins. On the
third day, He rose again and fulfilled the word of the scripture. He woke up and ascended into
heaven and sat at the right hand of Godthe Father. He is to return to this world at an unknown time
and location to judge the dead and the living. To begin with, Catholicism is Christian faith that sets
itself apart by having different practices, beliefs, behaviors, and views. The term catholic comes
from a Greek word better known as universal. What that meant was that... Show more content on

It is always found where a Christian presence exists. In Roman times, the cross was used to
humiliate and crucify criminals. However, later on, not only did Christians make the cross
symbolic of Jesus death but also of his resurrection. The next symbol of Catholicism is The
Sacred Heart which is a symbol of love. This represents the love Jesus Christ has for us. The heart
is pierced with a cross with thorns twisted around it. This symbolizes how deep Jesus love is for us.
He died on the cross to save us from our sins and to prove to us his love is eternal. In the same way,
Pope Francis is a symbol to the Roman Catholic Church. Papacy is simply the term used to

  • 2. Circumcision Is A Debating Procedure For Many Years Circumcision has been a debating procedure for many years. It is a procedure that means cutting off the foreskin, or ring of tissue that covers the head of the penis. Circumcision is said to have started many years ago and is a big part is some religions. For example, according to the book of Genesis in the Torah, god made a covenent with Abraham (a Jewish patriarch) in which Abraham and his decendents would be given great land riches, and success. There was only one catch, Abraham, his descendants, any slaves purchased or born in his house hold by the eighth day of life. If any failed to do so then they would be separate from his people and live without the favor of god. Untill this day Jewish people have lived by that and is a strong religious belief. This procedure on the Jews was called a bris or brit milah. Even though circumcision was practiced in different areas of the world, it was first documented in art form by the Egyptians. They circumcised because they believed it was a method of purification. It later started making its way to other cultures, but nobody really knows why the practice spread nor why it even started. Many other countries removed the foreskin because they believed it marked entrance into adulthood, to humiliate enemies, to identify those with higher social status, to enhance or limit sexual pleasure. Also having your penis circumcised helped make it easier to maintain clean. Normally circumcision was done at the age where they thought was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Characteristics Of Odysseus A Hero A hero is a character who has outstanding qualities and will go out of there way to help others. But if you were to ask a group of people what they believe a hero is, most might say the same thing. Many would say that its a person who would do anything to help others, including sacrificing themselves for that cause. Odysseusmight look like a hero to some but if you were to look a little deeper, he doesn t have that many qualities that a hero typically has. In the book, Odysseus does nothing out of the honesty of his heart. Even if Odysseus fought in the Trojan War, he is not a hero due to him being self centered and ignorant to other character s needs. Odysseus is not a hero because he is 1. Odysseus is cold hearted 2. Odysseus is disloyal 3. Odysseus is self centered Reason # 1: Odysseus does not fit the piece of the hero profile which incorporates having a great heart. Odysseus does not posses any of the traits that a hero has since he kills characters without giving them a chance. Odysseus executed each one of the suitors in cold blood when the majority of them didn t perpetrate a wrongdoing appropriate for capital punishment. He likewise executed the majority of the house keepers who were assaulted by the suitors as though had a decision in the issue. Odysseus likewise couldn t care less about his group individuals. Critical Analysis Of Star Wars James Nathan Walters Professor Kevin Copeland English 2106 3 December 2015 Critical Analysis of Star Wars Released in 1977, the original Star Wars movie quickly became the highest grossing film of all time and it changed the way people thought of filmography. With its unique special effects and storyline, it created a new era of Hollywood movies. It became a huge blockbuster and eventually spawned a new universe that now spans several decades. The films, now numbering six with three more being made, have a fan base of millions of people. This enables the dominant race to grant privileges to some while at the expense of others. Entrance into this group is usually exclusive to one type of person (Kendall). In totalitarian and dictatorial instances, such as in Star Wars, the line between the group in power and all others is bold and easy to see. Those who are not members of the group in power are subject to discrimination and have fewer rights and privileges in his or her society. The Star Wars films provide both symbolic and concrete evidence of this racial disparity. George Lucas use of color throughout the films is essential in the development of the narrative as well as to emphasize the progression of the racial inequalities and prejudices between humans and aliens. The color progression from The Phantom Menace to The Return of The Jedi acts as a sort of meter pertaining to the collapse of the Republic and the rise of the Galactic Empire. The first film chronologically, The Phantom Menace, employs bright, happy colors to convey hope and life. The vibrant colors of Naboo, the underwater home of the Gungan s, and the interior of many key buildings are all made up of colors that are synonymous with (relative) peace and innocence. As the Star Wars prequels progress to A New Hope, the bright colors are overtaken by greys, blacks, and reds. The warm color palette is synonymous with democracy, diversity, and ... Multinational Banks and Financial Institutions People in the modern world keep their funds stored in some type of financial institution, whether it s a small local bank that only operates in a small town or a large multinational bank that has offices in every major city around the world and caters to millions of people. With the responsibility of handling the assets of millions of people banks are sometimes accused for activities that may be illegal, such as money laundering: the method of concealing illegally acquired money or invasion of a client s account. Unlike small banks, Multinational banks are the most susceptible to these accusations. Multinational banks have to abide to the laws of multiple countries and any action they do could cause controversy, whether it s considered good in the banks eyes or if it s genuinely bad. While fiscal government policies that affect revenue collection and expenditure set the limits for multinational banks, ultimately multinational banks should be held to a higher international set of regulations. Their actions may be legal in some countries while illegal in others, causing various problems that could lead to the closure of offices in one country due to an action in another. Therefore, an international governing body should be created to regulate t multinational banks and keep from getting in trouble with national governments who have unique restrictions. Many plants rely heavily on bees as their main pollinator to reproduce. The early portion of this decade, which saw massive shifts in the administrations of the United States and Soviet Union, maintained an atmosphere of suspicion, wariness, and skepticism. This theme of uncertainty and caution was the logical product of decades of both American and Soviet duplicity, confrontation, and militarization. Yet, despite this mistrust between the polar Cold War belligerents, and contrary to the early rhetoric of the Reagan administration, the United States and Soviet Union modified their perceptions of each other s intentions following 1985 s Reykjavik Summit, which, despite producing no tangible results, established common desire for arms reduction and a conclusion of the Cold War. This warming of relations, however, increased at a gradual rate and encountered significant hurdles as the two nations attempted to limit the potential for thermonuclear war. Ultimately, Ronald Reaganand Mikhail Gorbachevs dialogue of the eyes transitioned from one administration to the next, while also weathering significant domestic pressures as the United Soviet Socialist Republic disintegrated. • 20. The Expansion During The Wilhelmine Period In Germany And... The expansion during the Wilhelmine period in Germany and the sociopolitical factors of that time helped start a war that more than Germany alone were responsible for starting. This war, that started in 1914, came to be known the Great War and was later known as World War I. This war was a defining moment in German and world history as a whole. Although Germany was not solely responsible for starting the war, there were certain actions that Germany did to help lead to World War I. Although more countries than Germany itself is responsible for starting the first World War, Germany in its history to become a nation performed certain actions that helped guide the world toward war. War after war was fought in order to solidify Germany as a nation both politically and morally. These wars gave the German people a sense of unity but also fueled rage, hatred, and fear by those that Germany defeated along its path to become a nation. These feelings are not easily forgotten. These feelings could be seen rising up during World War I by the nation of France, who was defeated earlier by the Germans over land disputes as part of Germany s quest to become a nation, one of the allied powers in the war. As another result of these wars and the quest to build Germany into a nation, Bismark put together a web of complex treaties with varies nations in Europe. These same treaties where then unraveled by William so that Germany could advance as a civilization. Through the actions that the Germans took in order to become a nation did not see them making too many friends as it made them enemies. It is these actions that lead the nations of France, England, and Russia to go on edge and distrust Germany and build an arsenal to defend themselves. When a nation displays the actions that Germany displayed it leads people, and nations alike, to believe that they are aggressive and that they plan to take military action against them in order to expand. This then causes distrust and fear that lead people to take certain measures so when the time comes for war they can defend themselves. As those nations build their arsenals tensions grow even higher. As these tensions grow high, countries form allies with other countries which ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Prufrock The span of time from the Victorian age of Literature to the Modernism of the 20th century wrought many changes in poetry style and literary thinking. While both eras contained elements of self scrutiny, the various forms and reasoning behind such thinking were vastly different. The Victorian age, with it s new industrialization of society, brought to poetry and literature the fictional character, seeing the world from another s eyes. It was also a time in which Victorian authors and intellectuals found a way to reassert religious ideas (Longman, p. 1790). Society was questioning the ideals of religion, yet people wanted to ... (13) reveals the uncertainty of the bishops thoughts as he contemplates death, wondering if others see that he deserves such a fine tomb. In Eliot s poem, Prufrock poses his own questioning, Do I dare? (38) and Do I dare/ disturb the universe? (45 46) which reflects his own personal conflict as he struggles to decide on whether he should take action, any action in his own life. Although these monologues contain the same elements of self questioning, they are vastly different, both in style and in tone. The bishop of Browning s poem sees himself as a great man, How I earned the prize! (33). He orders this stately tomb of lapis (102) and antique black basalt (53 54), a tomb so rich such as a king or queen might be deserving of. This gives us a clear picture that he thinks highly of himself, and he wants others to see the same, even after he is dead, the tomb much like a shrine of great importance. In contrast, Alfred J. Prufrock of Eliot s poem, feels no such greatness in himself. He is filled with vast uncertainty so that every small decision is wrought with conflict, and as such, he never does anything. Depression is a major factor that haunts students since the first day they walk into their first lecture. It is extremely alarming that in 2009, the American College Health Association found that 9.2 percent of college students at all types of institutions reported being diagnosed with depression, and 9.4 percent with anxiety (Fogg. Also, the Stafford loans are not enough to support a person during college. The paper work and terminology in acquiring these loans is also tremendously difficult and puts a strain on the student who has to do this every year. It is extremely stressful on knowing whether or not you are going to be able to attend college next semester and can plague the student through the rest of their collegiate experience. For example Amy began to notice depression setting in because of her student loans. It was probably during sophomore year when I got a notice from FAFSA that my financial aid did not go through. I had no money, and I needed to live at campus. It was stressful, but I got it worked out after a couple of weeks, but it was pretty much down hill from there. The stress just kept piling up with all the schoolwork, plus I missed my family. The only thing that made me feel ever the slightest bit better was partying and drinking and going home for weekend. As more and more students enroll in college and seek money, the higher the risk for depression. The affect of depression on college students is extremely harmful in the progression of education. By focusing on existing, new and nascent entrepreneurs, entrepreneurship policy focuses on the change of process acknowledging the need to respect antecedents and consider future opportunities. The definition for comprehensive sex education is responsible and balanced sexuality education that seeks to assist young people in understanding a positive view of sexuality, provide them with information and skills about caring for their sexual health, and help them acquire skills to make decisions now and in the future. It is medically accurate and provides information about abstinence and contraceptives as tools to prevent unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. On the other hand, abstinence only sex educationis a form of sex education that teaches abstinence from sex. This type of sex education promotes sexual abstinence until marriage and avoids discussion of use of contraceptives. Comprehensive sex education goes against some family morals and encourages teenagers to have sex. But abstinence only sex education does not teach students enough about sex or how to protect themselves from STDs and pregnancy. Comprehensive sex education should be mandatory in all of our nation s schools. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, sex education was strongly effected by Victorian values. Hypertext Markup Language is the programming language used to make generally every webpage. It is used to create text boxes, hyperlinks, images, et cetera. Meta tags are used for search engines like Yahoo! that use them to create a description for their search engine ranking. They can also be used for keywords, content type descriptions, and for the Robot Exclusion Protocol (Search Engine Watch). The Robot Exclusion Protocol is actually a Meta tag attribute. It is used typically to tell search engines to not index a webpage. It is also sometimes used to let search engines know whether or not to follow links on the page (Search Engine Watch). • 31. Theme Of Disguises In King Lear People put a large amount of effort into appearing a certain way. Many try to look wealthier than they seem or try to act more intelligent than they are. These pictures that people hold up in front of themselves are disguises, and in the case of King Lear, characters use these disguises to create illusions of power, love and as a way to protect themselves. However, not only does the appearance of a particular person deceive, but also the eyes of the person watching them. In King Lear, Shakespeare employs the motif of eyes and sight to emphasize how appearances deceive and cannot be trusted. In the first scene Regan and Goneril deceive King Lear with their words, flattering him in order to obtain more land. By lying to Lear about their love and devotion to him, Regan and Goneril believe that he will reward them. However, as the sisters later portray, they have no love for their father, but are only driven by their greed. Because they lust after power, and Lear had the most authority before he split his kingdom, they begin to strip away what little influence and control he had left. Edmund was another character who deceives his father by what he says. He tricks his father, the Earl of Gloucester, into believing that his legitimate brother, Edgar was plotting to overthrow him and take control of all that Gloucester owned. Through his soliloquy, Edmund tells of his jealousy toward Edgar, and he plots the downfall of his brother because he wants power, and because he wants to have all the privileges of a legitimate heir. First questioning, Why brand they us? He is Lear s ally, a close confidant and completely loyal to the King. When Lear banished him, Kent returns, wishing to still serve the King, but must do so disguised as the servant, Caius. The preeminent feature of organizational activity is its programmed character: behavior is an enactment of (more or less) pre established routines: At any given time, a government consists of existing organizations, each with a fix set of standard operating procedures and programs. The behavior of these organization and consequently of the government is therefore, determine primarily by routines established in these organizations prior to that instance . (Allison 1971: 81) The more standardized these procedures are, the less discretionary is to carry them out. The downside is that responses may become less appropriate to surprising and non expected events. The 27F crisis is a suitable case to analyze the performance of a large scale organization like the State and its patterns of response to external problems. Allison s model establishes that to perform complex routines, the behavior of a large number of individuals must be coordinated and that such coordination requires standard operating procedures: rules that determine what/how things are done. I will add that SORs never self generated but depends on leaders that decided which organizations, what programs and where to proceed. Hence, reliable performance of action that depends upon the behavior of hundreds of persons requires well established programs (Allison, 1971). This strictness of religion even spread into Egyptian government with kings being responsible for communication with the gods, as well as actively maintaining and changing the religionin every reign. Naturally, if these Egyptian morals and beliefs were able to spread into the government of ancient Egyptand gain a significant importance, they most certainly were present in the lives of Egyptian citizens. Priests were considered a representation of the general public, as they were the only ones who were considered able to enter the sacred area of the temple and approach the statue representing the god or goddess in order to achieve communication between the priests and the gods. Two of the most successful colonies were established and developed in totally different ways. The difference in the successful development of the colonies in the Chesapeake region was totally different than the successful development of the colonies in the New Englandregion, and was caused by different populations, climate, geography, and motivations. Upon their arrival, they set off in search for a land of gold. During their search, they created heavy tensions with the natives in the area. This negative relationship with the natives caused them to be attacked and almost wiped out until the British government took over the region and introduced a new system. This new system granted 50 acres of land to each person that paid for their voyage, or another person s voyage over. This caused more families to be drawn to the opportunity and eventually a greater, smarter, stronger community was established. Overall, there was a far more immediate success in the establishment of the population in New England than in the Chesapeake region, which eventually lead to a different feel in society. Additionally, society itself was changing more and more between the two regions due to the climate. The climate of the New England region causes the temperature to drop earlier than it does in the Chesapeake region. The early morning fall frost that falls on the leaves in New England was not only beautiful but beneficial for their health. In New England the frost came far sooner than in the Chesapeake region which lead to the death of mosquitos in the frost. • 41. Student Loan Programs Student Loan Programs The beginning of a college education is an eventful and exciting chapter for America s youth. Beginning college is also when responsibilities begin to kick in as well. Students must plan ahead how they intend to finance their education during their time at college and after completing their academic careers. Almost seventy percent of college students nationwide take out loans to help finance their education. Like any other loan, student loans must be paid off in a timely manner to avoid hurting personal credit for future investments. The government has various student loan programs to assist students with not only paying for college, but also with paying off these loans after college. The most common type of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It may feel like free money to the pockets when receiving the refund checks, but all of it needs to be paid back at a point. This is a common mistake made by students during their college careers. Managing finances when in school is a crucial part of building a credit history because student loans tend to be the first type of credit for those in college. It is also the first type of real debt incurred by many. Late loan payments seriously harm credit records and ruin a credit history for years. This is why paying off these loans is the safest way to go when building a positive credit history. Late payments that add up often pose as obstacles when taking out auto loans and mortgages as well. This is only fair, because if a student fails to carry out the responsibility of paying back a student loan, then they are not proven responsible when it comes to other types of credit either. (smartmoney.com) Late loan payments indeed take a toll on an individual s credit history. When a loan payment has not been made for two hundred seventy days after it was due, that student loan is considered to be in default. The defaulted loan is turned over to a collection agency, and the government notifies every credit bureau. This information remains on an individual s credit report for seven years. Not paying the defaulted loan as soon as possible means having federal income tax refunds withheld and added to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Narratire In The Raven And Neighbor Rosicky Throughout the freshman year English course I enjoyed reading many excellent works of literature, but none stood out to me as much as The Storyteller, The Raven, and Neighbor Rosicky. The short story, The Storyteller by Saki (H. H. Munroe), holds another unusual tale within itself and cleverly uses satire against society s teachings. For example, it is clear that the bachelor half mocks the aunt when he starts his story with, there was a little girl...who was extra ordinarily good. To let the children entangle themselves in plenty of imagination about the unusual girl, the bachelor uses the words horribly good at the start of his story. Because of her inability to tell the children a decent story, The Storyteller ends with the bachelor admonishing the aunt. This illustrates the aunt s hopeless and almost comical situation at the beginning of the story, which makes this... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the devices he uses relentlessly throughout the entire poem is alliteration, especially in stanza 14 where the s and the f sounds are constantly repeated all in just two lines. Following a rhyme scheme of ABCBB, the poem bestows an almost hypnotizing feeling upon its readers. Furthermore, Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary... is an example of Poe s internal rhymes, which give the poem even more depth. Poe s use of similes such as And his eyes have all the seeming, of a demon s that is dreaming... are strong and emphasized throughout the poem, making it all the more interesting. Metaphors are also detailed and constantly give vivid imagery. Finally, plenty of personification is used to describe the raven, such as as if his soul in that one word he did outpour. Even though the subject of the poem is somewhat morbid, it is one I recommend everyone to enjoy for its dynamic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Analysis Of The Book Gates By Paul Andrews And Stephen... Choice Book Essay Recently, I read the book Gates, how Microsoft s mogul reinvented an industry and made himself the richest man in America by Paul Andrews and Stephen Manes in 1994. This was of course, during the time period when Apple was failing, and released an operating system, System 9, that nobody needed nor wanted in 1994. IBM sure wished they haven t filed those separation papers now, when Microsoftstock stormed overhead, selling out of Windows 95 in less than two days globally. Over 2 million copies in fact, and the first publically available windows that didn t run on top of MS DOS, our ancient overlord. This book told the secret life of the ruler of the entire technology industry all the way to present day. The main author is one of my favorites, since he wrote many articles on PC world, and gave a somewhat honest review of Windows Vista, of course after Microsoft fired one of their top software engineers. Stephen Manes was even mentioned on the Personal Computers columnist for the Science Times section of the New York Times, and another on InformationWeek. At this time he was even a successful editor for PC Magazine, PC/Computing, PCjr, and Net guide. Marketing Computers also ranked him as one of the top 4 influential writes about the computer industry. He also wrote over 30 books for many audiences from children to young adults, including Chicken Trek. • 44. Legalization Of Marijuana On The Economy Chelsea Ballew Mr. Harrington Writ 101, 72 31 March 2015 Legalization of Marijuana on the economy If one were told that the United States had all of the answers to their economic issues growing within their country wouldn t people take advantage of it? Even if the solution was currently considered as an illegal substance. George Shaw stated, If history repeats itself, and the unexpected always happens, how incapable must Man be of learning from experience. Mr. Shaw s wisdom particularly applies to the current debate on the legalization of cannabis, and if it should be legal state or nationwide. The present day prohibition on marijuana is not any different than the past prohibition on alcohol in the roaring 20 s. The legalization of marijuana, similar to alcohol not only means more money for the government, but also more revenue, jobs, and savings. The debate can be tough to follow with all of the political jargon. Americans must keep in mind that is substantial to find a solution to the lingering question, should marijuana be legalized? It is vital for the United States to end the expensive and uneconomical prohibition. Besides the infinite reasons for legalization such as ending panic over drugs, lowering crime rate and ending drug related pollution there is one clear motive for legalization, the money. The Huffington Post reported The government would save an estimated $13.7 billion on prohibition enforcement costs and tax revenue by legalizing marijuana. How is it ... These ads become distractions to the readers and take their mind away from the sole purpose of the articles. More specifically, this advertisement featured in Men s Health magazine from March of 2015, shows a full back cover dedicated to LA Muscle. Their ads have been known to catch readers off guard and steal their attention from the actual magazine. With the sophisticated text, colors, and images, this ad hits Men s Health readers with intimidation, current trends, and image coaxing them into purchasing their over priced, no guarantee product. First off, LA Muscle immediately grabs the readers attention by rhetorically asking, Protein is protein, right? WRONG. This statement is meant to make readers question whether or not the protein they currently use compares to the one that is being marketed to them. The word WRONG is boldly printed, to intimidate readers and make them second guess themselves for thinking all protein is the same. The strong emphasis on this word quickly grabs the readers attention. Even those readers who have done their research about their supplements may be swayed into thinking that their opinion on the most beneficial protein could not be correct. This tactic works ... This represents the love Jesus Christ has for us. The heart is pierced with a cross with thorns twisted around it. This symbolizes how deep Jesus love is for us.
