Napoleon Bonaparte As A French Revolution
Started from a mere soldier, Napoleon Bonaparte was able to ascend the throne of an Emperor.
Frequently at war, he schemed and maneuvered his way through politics to be at the top of France.
This brings up the question of what made him want to be the Emperor of France. Napoleon
Bonaparte was a man that genuinely understood his own motives and ambitions. He was able to
foster the motive of saving Francefrom the bloody French Revolutionand ambition of gaining
power by utilizing revolutionary ideas combined with his own to accumulate power and stability of
imperial rule. This occurred due to being a product of the enlightenment, power hungry personality,
ego, and use of manipulation. Firstly, Napoleon was a product of the enlightenment era. He
combined French Revolutionary ideals with his own to further his objective in order to stabilize his
rule and gain the favour of the French population. According to Patterns of World History , life,
liberty, equality, social contract, property, representation, nation, popular sovereignty, and
constitution are the product of French ideals.[1] Napoleon only used liberty and equality which
were the most popular with the citizens.[2] He described that once Italy had tasted the benefits of a
wise and liberal administration, it would be simply impossible for them to return back to their old
way of life.[3] With the concept of liberty and equality incorporated into the constitution, it was
possible that Napoleon wanted the conquered

Company Corporate And Business Strategy
4. Company Corporate and Business Strategy
Generic Strategies Model
The generic strategies include cost leadership, differentiation and focus apply in business unit level.
Generally, the cost leadership strategy never applicable in luxury industry. This is because most of
the consumer purchasing luxury goods do not care about price point.
No doubly, LVMHis one of the top world leading luxury products group. Every brand under the
group hold its own brand spirits and produce things different from each others. Those brands must
have few best seller product line with its signature pattern or design implemented on the saleable
goods. For example, Dior has Lady Dior bags and Bvlgari has the Serpenti collection of jewelry.
These differentiations are unique and perceived by customers as difference. Therefore, the product
value is enhanced. Due to the limited and uniqueness thus consumer willing to pay for a premium
price to buy luxury products.
Strategy Clock Model
This strategy aims to position a product at the higher price levels, whereas customers willing to
buy the product because of its high perceived value as well as high product quality. And this is the
normally practices adopted by the luxury brands. They propose to achieve premium prices with
high targeted segmentation, promotion and distribution etc. Obviously, LV is one of the brand
done successfully in this strategy, it has given a very high profit margin within the group. However,

Future Mobile Applications Demand Novel Wireless...
Future mobile applications demand novel wireless communication technologies due to new
challenges as sociated with the shortage of spectrums, low power radio architectures, and
communication security. For example, though mmWave can fulfill some of the spectrum demands,
it can still struggle to meet the growing demands for higher data connectivity over a myriad of
devices, e.g., Internet of Things (IoT) []. Therefore, more bands in the electromagnetic domains will
be needed. Besides, in current and future wearable devices, battery lifetime is the critical design
constraint that limits the sensor performance and data throughput []. In addition, security in wireless
communication is another significant challenge since future mobile devices... Show more content on

When a longer range is demanded, the power consumption of the UWB transceiver increases
dramatically. Since RF trans mission follows the inverse square law that the power density is
proportional to the inverse square of the distance. In practice, when considering obstacles,
multipath and fading, which is a big problem of impulse radio, the scenario can be even worse. In
other words, increasing RF transmission distance will cost lots of power of RF devices, and
shorten their battery lifetime. This power bandwidth trade off of UWB can be alleviated by taking
advantage of optical wireless communications, which offers huge unlicensed bandwidth, high
spatial re use capability, and low co channel interference. Therefore, by creating a UWB/Optical
relay, the communication range of a UWB terminal can be extended without interfering other
communications. On the other hand, optical communication has a shortcoming of directivity, so
handling mobility is more challenging in optical systems than RF systems. This weakness can be
overcome by using UWB as radio terminals since impulse radio has less directional constraints.
Moreover, since optical signals
One application example of the proposed system is illustrated in Fig. 1 (b). In this scenario,
multiple mobile sensors distributed over a geographical area need to transmit data to a remote
destination node. Here

The Struggle And The Triumph Summary
Continuing from The Way of Hope, Lech Walesa s second book, The Struggle and the Triumph:
An Autobiography, tells the story of Poland s march towards independence. From being an
electrician, leading Poland s Solidarity movement, to being elected the President of the Polish
Republic, Walesa s opinions and emotions throughout his journey are contained in this book.
Overall, Walesa s autobiography is an honorable read because it provides an intimate view of what
it was like living in Soviet controlled Poland. Moreover, the leader of the movement incorporates the
two important notions of Solidarity religion and non violence in this autobiography. Through this,
Walesa presents to his readers what helped to bring success to the movement. However,... Show

He describes Bronislaw Geremek, Adam Michnik, and Henryk Wujec as the lifeblood of a new
democracy because Walesa knows that these intelligent men will help to form a new, free Poland,
and thus, a new government in power. The author furthermore illustrates how the Solidarity
movement is something of an interest around the world, especially to George Bush and Ronald
Reagan. Walesa and the Solidarity movement get a motivation boost when Bush and Reagan
explain that the relationship between Poland and the United States will not normalize until Poland
makes a shift from totalitarianism to one of democracy. With this in writing, the readers are able
to see how important the movement was not only for Poland, but for other countries as well.
Despite the fact that the government of Poland was against the Poles and their movement, the
readers are able to witness the mass support from the abroad community. Furthermore, by
mentioning the intelligent, patriotic Polish activists and Walesa s discussions with important,
international people in power, the book helps to depict Walesa s drive of creating a successful
future for Poland. It is clear that Walesa not only wants Solidarity to be legalized, but that he
likewise has a plan for the future of Poland. He is looking and planning for Poland s long term
position and power, which greatly makes the readers supportive of the

Mary Shelley s Use Of The Weather In Frankenstein
Mary Shelley s use of the elements in Frankenstein aid in developing different moods experienced
throughout the novel. Habitually describing details of the existing weather, she is able to relate it
to the emotions of her characters. Whether the conditions are malevolent or delightful, she never
fails to help the reader recognize the indication of an emotion or incident that will soon occur in the
story.Rain is the foremost component of spring, the season of hope, renewal, and (emotional)
awakening. When the creature notices the amiable warmth and light showers that satisfy the earth,
it is almost as if his feelings go through photosynthesis; they are boosted instantaneously. Similar to
a rebirth, Shelley uses the fresh spring... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This shows that meteorological conditions are able to affect a character s thoughts and alter their
feelings. As has been noted, Shelley accentuates the description of spring to express the hope and
renewal bestowed upon the creature by the exemplifications of the weather. It is common throughout
the novel that the existing weather reflects, and sharply influences, Victor s mood(s). For example,
the atmosphere surrounding the hut is cold and harsh when the creature concludes his tale and asks
Victor to construct his companion. This creates meaning in the text because much like these
inhospitable conditions, Victor s heart is cold blooded and calloused when it comes to the
creature. Shelley s reason behind the freezing cold temperature is not only to foreshadow Victor s
response, but to demonstrate the absence of color (warmth) and human sentimentality. In similar
fashion, the pleasant weather in the valley of Chamounix is able to alleviate some of the guilt
ridden weight placed upon Victor s shoulders from the outcome of Justine s trial. With clear skies
as their background, the pinnacles of the mountains and graceful flow of the waterfalls are effective
in establishing a sense of fearlessness within Victor; the power of the topography

A health theory that applies to the project on SCIs is the social cognitive theory because it describes
a dynamic, ongoing process in which personal factors, environmental factors, and human behavior
exert influence upon each other (National Cancer Institute, pp. 19, 2005). Three main factors of the
social cognitive theory that affect the likelihood of a person performing a behavior are self
efficacy, goals, and outcome expectancies (National Cancer Institute, pp. 20, 2005). A goal of
this project is to help improve or maintain the self efficacy of people living with SCIs and their
caregivers, leading to them to have a better quality of life. Self efficacy is defined as confidence in
the ability of a person to overcome barriers and take action (National Cancer Institute, pp. 20, 2005).

Military Conquest In Mesoamerica
Amplified connections resulting from explorations, military expeditions and trade among different
cultures emerge simultaneously across the globe in the early modern era. Once people move, their
ideas accompany them, and this dramatic surge of communication often relates to the role of
religion. With this intensity of collaborations, opportunities for the restructuring of religion
escalates. Undeniably, these factors shape religious practices in the regions of Mesoamerica and
Europe. With the military conquests in Mesoamerica and the struggles for and against the
importance of political and economic power in Europe, the altering of religious practices occurs.
Markedly, military conquest brings potential for religious changes. The military invasion... Show

Greet Hofstede`S Dimensions Essay
Greet Hofstede`s cultural dimensions
Hello everybody. My name is Elchin. Today I will talk about Greet Hofstede`s cultural dimensions.
Every manager should have deep knowledge about culture because we live in globalization time.
What is culture? Culture is a system of values, beliefs, and norms shared among a group of people.
People`s culture affect the values in the workplace. That s why management processes should be
different according to cultures and according to the people from different cultures in the workplace.
The most famous study about how culture relates to values in the workplace was conducted by
Geert Hofstede. From 1967 to 1973 he did a long research among more than 1 million employees in

Individualism and collectivism. In individualistic cultures people focus on their individual goals.
Everyone looks after himself or herself. Every individual think about his or her own success and
happiness. Every individual makes his or her choice. But it is the opposite in collectivist cultures.
Individuals view themselves as the members of groups and think about their group, community
and family needs and goals. For example we have a group assignment in our university. If
someone does not work on assignment, student from individualistic culture would tell it to
professor that he or she doesn t do anything, doesn t work on assignment. Because for him or for
her individual goals and rights are more important. But in collectivist culture if one of the students
doesn t work on assignment, the group would support him or her. They would not tell it to
professor because for the group members group goals are more important. Another example. In
individualistic countries a person chooses his future wife. No one can tell anything to him because
of his choice. But in collectivist countries parents choose or advice wifes for their children and that
individuals agree with it because they believe it is the best way

Foodborne Illnesses Of The United States
1.Introduction
Foodborne illnesses is an important problem in the United States, which cause a total of 19,056
infections, 4,200 hospitalizations, and 80 deaths were reported in 2013. Moreover, foodborne
illnesses cost the United States an estimated $152 billion per year in healthcare (Scharff, 2010;
CDC, 2014). E. coli O157 belonged Shiga toxin producing Escherichia coli (STEC), it was usually
classified pathotypically as enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC) (Bryan et al., 2015).
Between 2000 and 2010 have 5688 cases of O157 STEC infections were reported by FoodNet
sentinel states, while the rate of O157 STEC infection decreased from 2.17 to 0.95 per 100,000
(Gould et al., 2013). By the way, Magwedere et al. (2013) also reported retail ground meat
samples were purchased at grocery stores, local farmers markets, and online vendors, out of 16
ground chicken samples, 7 samples tested positive for O157 STEC. On the other hand, E. coli
also causes diverse extraintestinal infections by uropathogenic E. coli (UPEC), urinary tract
infections (UTI) is a good example to illustrate. The economic burden associated with urinary tract
infections is estimated to be approximately 1.5 billion in the United States annually. According to
previous studies, the food animal and meat reservoir might exist and isolate from retail chicken
meat products for UPEC (Jakobsen et al., 2010; Shortlidge et al., 2013; Natalie et al., 2015). In

Diva shoes is an international shoes company that is experiencing rapid growth. Due to this rapid

This situation became more severe in Japan. The company s growth in Japan exceeded all

from selling its merchandise to dollars.

ratio for 1995. I m aware that this is not a great projection, as it ignores economies of scale and
efficiency improvements as the company grows, but for the purposes of this projection, it s the
best I can do. The calculation is shown in the excel spreadsheet. e. I estimated the Yen/Dollar
exchange rate to be 90. It is a bit higher than the current spot rate, but follows the trend according
to exhibit 1. Exhibit 1 shows an appreciation to the Yen, which slows down to a crawl near the
beginning of 1995. Based on the case I believe it is safe to assume a minor depreciation to the Yen
for Sep 1995.
Based on the assumptions above I project revenues for 1995 to be $93,939,025.90
4. Similar to question 3, this question require me to make several assumptions. I ve used the exact
same assumptions as the ones made in question 3.
Using these assumptions, I project net income to be $8,874,315.89. This means that the EPS for
1995 is $0.74 which reflects a 20.71% growth year over year.
The full calculation and income statement for 1995 is shown in the attached spreadsheet. 5. The
statement is accurate. If Diva Shoes hedges with either an option or a forward contract that locks

Mission Of The Mission Santa Clara
The Mission Santa Clara is a historical California site that is laid in the center of the Santa Clara
University. In 1777, it established and founded by the Franciscan Order. The mission s purpose
was to be the sister mission to Mission Dolores that is in San Francisco. Due to Mexico
withdrawing from the Spanish Empire, the King of Spain and his Viceroy, the ones sponsoring the
missions, were no longer in power. The Mexican government didn t have enough resources and was
not interested to maintain and upkeep the distant missions, removing the Spanish Franciscans. With
little funds, the mission perished slowly until the ownership of the mission was passed over to the
Society of Jesus, also called the Jesuits, in 1851. They made Santa Claracollege and today, Mission
Santa Clara is used as a student chapel and opened to the public. Mission Santa Clara is set in the
middle of Santa Clara University(which can be seen in the Santa Clara University s campus map),
located in the Bay area. When it was founded, the city of Santa Clara was seen as a good place to
set the mission due to it having fertile land, mild climate that makes for comfortable living, and
abundance of game in the area. In front of the mission, there stands the Mission Cross. At the
base of the cross, a piece of the original cross, from 1777, is placed inside as a memorable.

Furthermore, to measure the toll that incubation takes on a male, Masonjones built a tiny
respirator that records oxygen concentrations in water flowing into and out of a chamber. Before
a male took on eggs, she checked his baseline need for oxygen. Then, she monitored the increase
as the incubation progressed. The male s body had to work hard by the end of incubation,
consuming almost a third again as much oxygen as he did before mating. To correct for oxygen
used by the growing brood, Masonjones managed to keep ¼ inch high premature seahorses alive
outside the pouch so she could measure their oxygen needs. Although they undergo weeks of
incubation, males directly contribute only half as much energy for offspring as females do.

What Is A Creation Myth
There are three specific characteristics to look for when deciding if a story is a creation myth or
not. To be considered a creation myth a story must describe how the universe, earth and life began.
Explain the workings of the natural world and support and validate social customs as well as
values. How the World Was Made is a creation myth
because it describes how the world began,

How the World Was Made states that the world began when the water beetle came to the surface

The Great Lewis And Clark Expedition

The Great Lewis and Clark Expedition I never learnt anything about the U.S. history before I came
to a high school in Boston. The stories about Native Americans and exploration of west had always
attracted me because nothing like that ever happened in the Chinese history. And this is the reason
why I am going to do the Lewis and Clark Expedition. They were just so brave to explore a land
that the Americans knew nothing about. Not only their spirit, the journals they kept and the maps
they made were also precious gifts for the explorers after them. Lewis and Clark s Corps of
Discovery took place from 1803 to 1806, which are the years during the presidency of Thomas
Jefferson. They described ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

but Jefferson never gave up his dream on exploring the West. In 1792 Jefferson became the

a big amount of gold if Dr. Moses could lead the exploration. Just like before, this plan never came

The beat up Arab minivan slowed tentatively under the scrutinizing gaze of the Israeli soldier on
duty. The routine was simple. About halfway between Damascus Gate in East Jerusalem and
Ramallah, the West Bank commercial center, the driver, blaring Arabic music on his radio,
maneuvered around the dusty slabs of concrete that composed the Beit Haninah Checkpoint. He
waited for a once over by the Hebrew speaking 18 year old and permission to continue. Checkpoints

The Benefits Of Time Travel
Although time travel has long been since considered as fable, there have been studies and theories
that appeared supporting the time travel. Einstein s theory of relativity supports time travel and
with this scientists have come up with theories of time travel. Other theories and many experiments
have been conducted to try and prove the possibility of time travel for humans. Einstein s theory of
relativitydetermined that the speed of light within a vacuum is constant no matter the speed at
which the observer is traveling and with this found out that space and time were intertwined
together in a continuum identified as space time. In the theory of special relativity, time is said to
move slower or faster depending on the observer.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Travelling to the future is said to be easy. Einstein s theory of special relativity shows that for
people who are moving relative to one another time passes at different rates, although the effect
is only considerable when you travel near the speed of light. Let us say that you travelled in
space at about 99.5% of the speed of light. The year you have spent is space would be lesser than
the time that passed on Earth until you get back home. Many years have gone by on Earth while
you have only spent a few years in space. Travelling to the speed of light cannot be yet achieved
as of today s technology. There would be a great need for an unimaginable amount of energy to
travel near the speed of light. But time travel to the future has already happened. Cosmonaut
Sergei Krikalev travelled through time and holds the longest amount of time spent in space with
803 days. He orbited around the Earth travelling at around 7.66 km/s. Because of the high speed
travel and length of time he spent in space; he arrived back in Earth 0.02 seconds in the future
which is also due to time dilation. Although, he only travelled seconds in the future and not like
the 5 years or more in the future he was still able to arrive earlier without travelling in the speed of
light. Time travel can also occur in gravitational fields as stated in the theory of general relativity.
Einstein predicted that time passed more slowly for objects in gravitational

Grendel is a monster that terrorized the mead hall by killing and eating people. Hrothogar, which is
the king of Danes, recounts a feud during which Beowulf s father kills Higlaf, a member of the
Wulfing tribe. Hrothgar sends treasure to the Wulfings to mend the feud, and Beowulf s father

Background: Two staff are seen carrying the old woman and throwing her onto her bed.
(YouTube) A nursing home along Braddell Road has been suspended from admitting new

incident at Nightingale Nursing Home came to light after a video of a patient being mistreated
was sent to local broadcaster Mediacorp. The footage was shot by a hidden camera on a patient s

room ceiling fans on. She is then picked up by two hospitalstaff and thrown onto a bed, before a
staff is shown slapping her on her mouth when she wailed in pain. Reports say the patient has been
a resident there for four years and is suffering from stroke. The Ministry of Health (MOH) said it
has suspended the nursing home from admitting new patients from 12 April until further notice.
The nursing home has also disciplined the staff involved and put in place additional measures such
as ward rounds by senior staff, regular meetings with patients and their familymembers, and

A Reflection of a Revolution
Exploitation of Mexico by Spanish Conquistadors vividly illustrates the struggle of the native
Mexicans during the inquisition, depicts the violent and savage oppression by the Spanish
conquerors, and satirizes the rule and authority of Cortes. This mural by Diego Rivera was the last

portrays an accurate narrative of Mexican history. It is a summarization of the Spanish
enslavement of the Aztecs (Sullivan). He gives a much different view of the discovery and

The satirical fashion in which Cortes is portrayed expresses a clear message of lack of political
support (Sullivan). The Spanish cross, flag, and sword shown in the top left corner of the mural
give a three fold message of religious, political, and militant influence used to conquer the natives of
the New World. Religious justification was a guise claimed by the Spanish to use the heathen
Indians for their political and financial gain. CuauhtГ©moc, the last of the Aztec emperors, is
shown in submission to a dominant conquistador representing the Spanish victory over the Aztecs
(Souter). The Spaniards are adorned in ornate armor with recognizable European hats. In contrast,
the Indians are shown demoralized, bound as if they are animals. Also, Rivera paints the
conquistadors branding the Indians like livestock dehumanizing their race and effectively wiping
out their identity. All the images mesh creating a distain for the infiltration of the Spanish and the
erasing of the Aztecs.
Through artistic expression, Rivera gives the Mexican people an outcry of concern. He pictures

The bill calling for defunding of Planned Parenthood was introduced by Freshman Senator Joni

Current Open Visitation Practices Within The Critical Care...
Introduction. The introduction will provide a contextual overview of the current open visitation
practices within the critical care setting. The introduction will begin by highlighting the American
Association of Critical Care Nurses and Canadian Association of Critical Care Nurses support for
open visitation practices and include the argument that unrestrictive family presences is indicative
of patient and family centered care. Next, the barriers that prevent open visitation and the
implications for practice will be acknowledged. The main barriers preventing open visitation that
will be briefly introduced (a detailed discussion will occur in the later portion of the text), and
include skewed nursing perceptions, gaps in knowledge about the beneficial effects of unrestrictive
family presence, and lack of formal visitation policies. It will be argued that the main implication
for practice is decreased patient and family satisfaction resulting from incongruent visitation
practices. Finally, the solution of educating nurses about the benefits of an open visitation policy
on patients and families will be proposed. Rationale for the solution will be provided. Purpose
statement and aims. The introduction will provide context for the following purpose statement: the
purpose of this review article is to gain a better understanding of how critical care patients and
families can benefit from open visitation policies. The review article aims to answer the following

The first thing we need to do is locate the fish, which Oceana has done a great job of doing, fish are
conveniently located in the coastal zones of countries, these coastal zones are under the control of
national jurisdictions, which means each country can manage their own fisheries. It s a good thing
that these zones are controlled by national jurisdictions, because if it were done internationally, it
would be a lot more difficult for these changes to be put into action. The reasons why we should
focus in on these coastal zones, is simply because the fish. There are seven times as many fish in
these zones compared to the high seas, which means for us we have seven times more of a

The Successful Treatment Of Malaria
The successful treatment of malaria infections solely dependent upon the use of the most effective
anti malaria drugs to eradicated the parasite from the individual s blood. The treatments differ for
complicated and uncomplicated infections. The greatest obstacle healthcare workers face is the
increased resistance of the Plasmodium parasite to drug therapy. The Plasmodium falciform species
has become increasingly resistant in the regions affect by the strain (1).
In an effort to avoid drug resistance, the current recommendation of the World Health Organization
is the use of two more anti malaria drugs for the treatment of uncomplicated P. falciform malaria
infections. In order to achieve the desired effect the drug combinations must have different modes
of action. The formal name for this form of therapy is artemisinin based combination therapy
(ACT) (1). Artemisinin defines the group of drugs that have the most rapid action in the treatment
of P. falciform malaria. The drug has been shown to eradicate both the resistant and susceptible
stains P. falciform (2). The idea is use an artemisinin along with a drug from a different class to
maximize the treatment outcomes (2).
In complicated malaria cases, the WHO recommends intramuscular injection of a water soluble
drug name artesunate. It is a synthetic derivative of the artemisinin that is more biologically active.
The drug is capable of stopping parasite development and preventing the adherence of erythrocytes

The quote is saying that the USA should have won the Vietnam War because they had better

the first part because America should have won the Vietnam War as they are very powerful. I

America did have better technology which you would have expected them to use toothier
advantage more than they did. Where the American s had helicopters, the Vietcong had bikes. The
American s had bombs which they used in Operation Rolling Thunder. They had a large quantity
of them too as they dropped more bombs than were dropped in the whole of World War II. They
had chemicals such as Agent Orange and Napalm which was special. Regular Napalm just sets fire
to things which can be put out with water or by taking the oxygen away. The American s developed
it so that it could burn without oxygen which created devastating effects. People rolled on the
ground but it continued to burn through their body and it still burnt people when they jumped in
water.
I do disagree that the American s were better trained. They were better trained in conventional
warfare and had a lot of experience from World War II. But the Vietcong matched this. They were
better trained than the American s but not in conventional warfare. They were experts in guerrilla
warfare which proved vital in their defeat on the USA. They also had a lot experience as they
were at war with the French for a long time.
The American s also had more problems which prevented them from winning the war. In my
opinion, this was probably the main reason America lost the war. American support diminished

How Biobutanol Is More Feasible Alternative For Gasoline
Biobutanol is a more feasible alternative to gasoline. It is a more viable motor fuel substitute to
gasoline, as biomass from which biobutanol is derived from is readily available for production
and more importantly is a renewable resource. Gasoline is a crude oil product derived from
petroleum, which is finite and unsustainable as a motor fuel, because it is increasingly being used
up faster than it is being produced. It is expected that with continued research, biobutanol could
eventually surpass gasolineas the primary motor fuel. Evidence proves that biobutanol is more
acceptable environmentally than gasoline and conveniently, biomass is readily available for the

These factors would lead to biobutanol being considerably more efficient economically. In addition
to that, compared to gasoline or other motor fuel, (methanol, ethanol etc.) biobutanol has an

longer travels, which would be beneficial economically speaking (Liu, Wang and Zhang, 2013).

give it an advantage over gasoline. The octane number for butanol is higher than the octane
number of gasoline. The octane number of the fuel determines whether the fuel in the car is
detonating instead of running smoothly and having a high octane number is advantageous in the
long run as there is significantly a lot less energy wastage and the engine of the car will also last
a lot longer as less damage is sustained (Stevens, 2008). Butanol also has a much lower saturation
pressure, meaning that butanol is likely to have a significantly lower volatility. This is beneficial
as gasoline with its high saturation pressure, will easily evaporate rapidly at room temperature,
whereas butanol with its lower saturation pressure will be less inclined to. This idea is also
supported by the evaporation heat of gasoline and butanol. It is shown that more heat is required for
the latter to substance to evaporate than the former. With all the price advantages that

California Fire Department
In 1970, the Chaparral Region of Southern California suffered immense devastation from wildfires
that burned for several days, burning more than half a million acres of land, destroying over 700
structures and killing 16 people. During the subsequent debriefing and critiques done by the two
primary agencies, Los Angeles County and Los Angeles City FireDepartments, four major obstacles
were identified. The two departments agreed that while there was cooperation between the
departments, the identified obstacles definitely impeded the efforts put forth to extinguish the fire.
Terminology between the departments was an initial obstacle that needed to be addressed. The
critique found that because each agency had a variety of terms for the same equipment, there was
confusion when requesting or identifying it. Due to the lack of distinct planning for the wild land
fires, the commanders did not have the ability to deploy the proper units when or where needed.
Units were incorrectly sent to areas, or mistakenly instructed to stand down or stay in quarters when
not needed. The inconsistency in response plans of the different agencies was also an obstacle
worth discussing. Again, each agency had there own... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Katniss Idea Of Freedom In The Hunger Games
Freedom is something often taken for granted. There is a certain level of comfort people have with
the freedoms they have been given. Eventually, people stop thinking about how much of a gift
freedom really is. The concept of freedom means something different to different people. Epictetus
describes his version of freedom well with this quote. Is freedom anything else than the right to live
as we wish? Nothing else. This captures the meaning of freedom by describing how freedom has no
one definition and is a personal concept. In The Hunger Games series, there is a continuous search
and longing for freedom from the totalitarian government controlling Panem. The characters learn
when to stay quiet, and when they have their best chance, they... Show more content on

Nonviolent Protests
We cannot turn on our televisions or get on social media without hearing about recent protests.
Some peaceful and some violent, but what difference do the two make? We all have seen riots
and we ve seen how they can end: a spray of rubber bullets, dogs digging their teeth into
screaming people s legs, and the trashing of public places. We ve seen the sit ins and marches
filled with people that have no fear in holding their signs high and proud. To some violence seems
like the only answer, but the results are not as rewarding nor as long lasting. Although some may
believe violence is the only answer they are turning a blind eye because nonviolent protests are
more successful, get more government support, and gather more civilians around the cause.
To begin with, the common misconception is that you can t be heard on your issue unless you re
being violent. People get to the point where they feel so oppressed they feel the need to not just use
their voices but their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Often violence leaves a bad taste in a politician s mouth as they don t want to be a part of a
possible blood bath that could backfire on their careers. For example, a study done by Omar
Wasow of Princeton University showed the effects in voting polls after violent civil rights protests
in the 1960s, and found that the support for law and order was so high that many citizens voted for
republican leaders in hopes that in the future outbursts like that could be controlled. Those leaders
used those protests to their advantage by saying violence would not be tolerated, and they can gain
just as much by standing by a peaceful protest. A sit in is a show of passion and strength in their
beliefs that encourages people to feel they are passionate in what they believe in. A community
appreciates a firm stand much like they appreciate a safe and happy environment for

Johann Sebastian Bach´s Early Baroque Music
1. Brandenburg Concerto No. 4 in G, BWV 1049, III
By Johann Sebastian Bach https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JQm5aSjX6g This music by Bach
portrays all the characteristic of early Baroque Music which includes melody, texture, and timber.
It is one of the Bach s sets that forms a master anthology that demonstrates all possible possibilities
inherent in a specific musical form. It is scored for violin, continuo, two flutes, and strings. The
flutes was called fiauti d echo , which represented the softer part of the song that echoes. However,
this may not be the case since the flutes appear at the beginning even without the solo violin. Flutes
double the solo but occasionally used in echo function.
The date of composing Brandenburg Concerto is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It has four orchestral suits (overtures) for defining the movements. French overture characterized
the opening: majestic opening characterized by slow dotted note rhythm in duple meter, followed
by fast fugal part, and lastly the short recapitulation of the introductory music ( Orchestral Suite
No.2 in B Minor, BWV 1067 (Bach, Johann Sebastian) IMSLP/Petrucci Music Library: Free Public
Domain Sheet Music ). The numerical order of the orchestral suits is conventional, in which the
first and fourth were borrowed from the time of Cothen and Leipzig era respectively. The B minor
is more intimate of works, flutes, continuo, and strings. Suit term portrays a set of dance
movements in successions. Overtures combined slow opening, harmonic suspensions, and a faster
part with the lightly fugal feature. Sections were repeated in this

Later that day, the gunslinger started to talk about his old town Tull. When the gunslinger was in
Tull he proceeded to a nearby cafГ©. He then met this women bartender who told the gunslinger
what had happened lately. One day, this guy named Nort had passed away. All of a sudden he had

Roland could be a father figure to Jake. Roland would protect Jake sine he had provided him with

Jake was frightened. The boy screamed again and crowded against the gunslinger s leg like a

My Incredible Stay in Bolivia Essay
My Incredible Stay in Bolivia
As I lifted my heavy suitcase off the wheeled cart, my mind soon went to work reviewing
everything I had brought. Considering the mad rush I had to get packed for my ten day stay in
Bolivia, I knew there was no way I could have remembered to bring everything. I knew for sure
that I had remembered my toothbrush, which is the thing I normally forget. I also mentally went
through everything I had packed and to my delight realized I hadn t forgotten a thing! I was so
proud of myself! I was part of a twenty one member team from the United States that went to the
largest city in Bolivia to provide humanitarian aid, which included eye exams and refractions. From
the Santa Cruz airport, I rode in a small green ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Standing there, I could feel grits of sand hitting my arms and face as the breeze began to pick up.
The sand asaulted my cheeks with their roughness, but soon the wind died down and the sand was
once again laying rejected on the ground.
Turning my focus back to the church building, I noticed several Bolivians standing inside the
iron gate. These people were all dark skinned with crinkles around their eyes, showing their love
to laugh. They were dressed plainly, one boy wearing a shirt that proudly advertised Coca Cola.
The girls were dressed in shorts and tank tops, and most of the boys just wore a pair of ragged
shorts. I half anticipated them to smell like dirty laundry and unkept hair, but as I received the
welcoming hugs, I knew I was grossly wrong. Accompanying these people was the cleanest
smell I think I have ever smelled. It clung to them, in their hair, on their clothes and on their skin.
The smell of Tommy Girl even came to me after hugging one teenager. The little boys, though
dirty with sand streaked faces and hands, were just as eager to give and receive hugs as the rest of
the group. Even they smelled of freshly aired laundry and clean hair. Behind them, stood the church
as well as a few other buildings.
This church was probably the prettiest church I have ever seen. Here in the States, people spend
millions of dollars to create a showcase building, so tall and so

  • 2. Napoleon Bonaparte As A French Revolution Started from a mere soldier, Napoleon Bonaparte was able to ascend the throne of an Emperor. Frequently at war, he schemed and maneuvered his way through politics to be at the top of France. This brings up the question of what made him want to be the Emperor of France. Napoleon Bonaparte was a man that genuinely understood his own motives and ambitions. He was able to foster the motive of saving Francefrom the bloody French Revolutionand ambition of gaining power by utilizing revolutionary ideas combined with his own to accumulate power and stability of imperial rule. This occurred due to being a product of the enlightenment, power hungry personality, ego, and use of manipulation. Firstly, Napoleon was a product of the enlightenment era. He combined French Revolutionary ideals with his own to further his objective in order to stabilize his rule and gain the favour of the French population. According to Patterns of World History , life, liberty, equality, social contract, property, representation, nation, popular sovereignty, and constitution are the product of French ideals.[1] Napoleon only used liberty and equality which were the most popular with the citizens.[2] He described that once Italy had tasted the benefits of a wise and liberal administration, it would be simply impossible for them to return back to their old way of life.[3] With the concept of liberty and equality incorporated into the constitution, it was possible that Napoleon wanted the conquered ... Generally, the cost leadership strategy never applicable in luxury industry. This is because most of the consumer purchasing luxury goods do not care about price point. No doubly, LVMHis one of the top world leading luxury products group. Every brand under the group hold its own brand spirits and produce things different from each others. Those brands must have few best seller product line with its signature pattern or design implemented on the saleable goods. Future mobile applications demand novel wireless communication technologies due to new challenges as sociated with the shortage of spectrums, low power radio architectures, and communication security. For example, though mmWave can fulfill some of the spectrum demands, it can still struggle to meet the growing demands for higher data connectivity over a myriad of devices, e.g., Internet of Things (IoT) []. Therefore, more bands in the electromagnetic domains will be needed. Besides, in current and future wearable devices, battery lifetime is the critical design constraint that limits the sensor performance and data throughput []. In addition, security in wireless communication is another significant challenge since future mobile devices... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When a longer range is demanded, the power consumption of the UWB transceiver increases dramatically. Since RF trans mission follows the inverse square law that the power density is proportional to the inverse square of the distance. In practice, when considering obstacles, multipath and fading, which is a big problem of impulse radio, the scenario can be even worse. In other words, increasing RF transmission distance will cost lots of power of RF devices, and shorten their battery lifetime. This power bandwidth trade off of UWB can be alleviated by taking advantage of optical wireless communications, which offers huge unlicensed bandwidth, high spatial re use capability, and low co channel interference. Therefore, by creating a UWB/Optical relay, the communication range of a UWB terminal can be extended without interfering other communications. On the other hand, optical communication has a shortcoming of directivity, so handling mobility is more challenging in optical systems than RF systems. This weakness can be overcome by using UWB as radio terminals since impulse radio has less directional constraints. Moreover, since optical signals One application example of the proposed system is illustrated in Fig. 1 (b). • 5. The Struggle And The Triumph Summary Continuing from The Way of Hope, Lech Walesa s second book, The Struggle and the Triumph: An Autobiography, tells the story of Poland s march towards independence. From being an electrician, leading Poland s Solidarity movement, to being elected the President of the Polish Republic, Walesa s opinions and emotions throughout his journey are contained in this book. Overall, Walesa s autobiography is an honorable read because it provides an intimate view of what it was like living in Soviet controlled Poland. Moreover, the leader of the movement incorporates the two important notions of Solidarity religion and non violence in this autobiography. Through this, Walesa presents to his readers what helped to bring success to the movement. However,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He describes Bronislaw Geremek, Adam Michnik, and Henryk Wujec as the lifeblood of a new democracy because Walesa knows that these intelligent men will help to form a new, free Poland, and thus, a new government in power. The author furthermore illustrates how the Solidarity movement is something of an interest around the world, especially to George Bush and Ronald Reagan. Walesa and the Solidarity movement get a motivation boost when Bush and Reagan explain that the relationship between Poland and the United States will not normalize until Poland makes a shift from totalitarianism to one of democracy. With this in writing, the readers are able to see how important the movement was not only for Poland, but for other countries as well. Despite the fact that the government of Poland was against the Poles and their movement, the readers are able to witness the mass support from the abroad community. Furthermore, by mentioning the intelligent, patriotic Polish activists and Walesa s discussions with important, international people in power, the book helps to depict Walesa s drive of creating a successful future for Poland. It is clear that Walesa not only wants Solidarity to be legalized, but that he likewise has a plan for the future of Poland. He is looking and planning for Poland s long term position and power, which greatly makes the readers supportive of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Mary Shelley s Use Of The Weather In Frankenstein Mary Shelley s use of the elements in Frankenstein aid in developing different moods experienced throughout the novel. Habitually describing details of the existing weather, she is able to relate it to the emotions of her characters. Whether the conditions are malevolent or delightful, she never fails to help the reader recognize the indication of an emotion or incident that will soon occur in the story.Rain is the foremost component of spring, the season of hope, renewal, and (emotional) awakening. When the creature notices the amiable warmth and light showers that satisfy the earth, it is almost as if his feelings go through photosynthesis; they are boosted instantaneously. This shows that meteorological conditions are able to affect a character s thoughts and alter their feelings. As has been noted, Shelley accentuates the description of spring to express the hope and renewal bestowed upon the creature by the exemplifications of the weather. It is common throughout the novel that the existing weather reflects, and sharply influences, Victor s mood(s). For example, the atmosphere surrounding the hut is cold and harsh when the creature concludes his tale and asks Victor to construct his companion. This creates meaning in the text because much like these inhospitable conditions, Victor s heart is cold blooded and calloused when it comes to the creature. Shelley s reason behind the freezing cold temperature is not only to foreshadow Victor s response, but to demonstrate the absence of color (warmth) and human sentimentality. In similar fashion, the pleasant weather in the valley of Chamounix is able to alleviate some of the guilt ridden weight placed upon Victor s shoulders from the outcome of Justine s trial. With clear skies as their background, the pinnacles of the mountains and graceful flow of the waterfalls are effective in establishing a sense of fearlessness within Victor; the power of the topography ... • 21. Mission Of The Mission Santa Clara The Mission Santa Clara is a historical California site that is laid in the center of the Santa Clara University. In 1777, it established and founded by the Franciscan Order. The mission s purpose was to be the sister mission to Mission Dolores that is in San Francisco. Due to Mexico withdrawing from the Spanish Empire, the King of Spain and his Viceroy, the ones sponsoring the missions, were no longer in power. The Mexican government didn t have enough resources and was not interested to maintain and upkeep the distant missions, removing the Spanish Franciscans. With little funds, the mission perished slowly until the ownership of the mission was passed over to the Society of Jesus, also called the Jesuits, in 1851. They made Santa Claracollege and today, Mission Santa Clara is used as a student chapel and opened to the public. Mission Santa Clara is set in the middle of Santa Clara University(which can be seen in the Santa Clara University s campus map), located in the Bay area. When it was founded, the city of Santa Clara was seen as a good place to set the mission due to it having fertile land, mild climate that makes for comfortable living, and abundance of game in the area. In front of the mission, there stands the Mission Cross. At the base of the cross, a piece of the original cross, from 1777, is placed inside as a memorable. The male s body had to work hard by the end of incubation, consuming almost a third again as much oxygen as he did before mating. To correct for oxygen used by the growing brood, Masonjones managed to keep ¼ inch high premature seahorses alive outside the pouch so she could measure their oxygen needs. Einstein s theory of relativitydetermined that the speed of light within a vacuum is constant no matter the speed at which the observer is traveling and with this found out that space and time were intertwined together in a continuum identified as space time. Einstein s theory of special relativity shows that for people who are moving relative to one another time passes at different rates, although the effect is only considerable when you travel near the speed of light. Let us say that you travelled in space at about 99.5% of the speed of light. The year you have spent is space would be lesser than the time that passed on Earth until you get back home. Many years have gone by on Earth while you have only spent a few years in space. Travelling to the speed of light cannot be yet achieved as of today s technology. There would be a great need for an unimaginable amount of energy to travel near the speed of light. But time travel to the future has already happened. Cosmonaut Sergei Krikalev travelled through time and holds the longest amount of time spent in space with 803 days. He orbited around the Earth travelling at around 7.66 km/s. Because of the high speed travel and length of time he spent in space; he arrived back in Earth 0.02 seconds in the future which is also due to time dilation. Although, he only travelled seconds in the future and not like the 5 years or more in the future he was still able to arrive earlier without travelling in the speed of light. The octane number of the fuel determines whether the fuel in the car is detonating instead of running smoothly and having a high octane number is advantageous in the long run as there is significantly a lot less energy wastage and the engine of the car will also last a lot longer as less damage is sustained (Stevens, 2008). Butanol also has a much lower saturation pressure, meaning that butanol is likely to have a significantly lower volatility. This is beneficial as gasoline with its high saturation pressure, will easily evaporate rapidly at room temperature, whereas butanol with its lower saturation pressure will be less inclined to. This idea is also supported by the evaporation heat of gasoline and butanol. It is shown that more heat is required for the latter to substance to evaporate than the former. With all the price advantages that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. California Fire Department In 1970, the Chaparral Region of Southern California suffered immense devastation from wildfires that burned for several days, burning more than half a million acres of land, destroying over 700 structures and killing 16 people. During the subsequent debriefing and critiques done by the two primary agencies, Los Angeles County and Los Angeles City FireDepartments, four major obstacles were identified. The two departments agreed that while there was cooperation between the departments, the identified obstacles definitely impeded the efforts put forth to extinguish the fire. Terminology between the departments was an initial obstacle that needed to be addressed. The critique found that because each agency had a variety of terms for the same equipment, there was confusion when requesting or identifying it. Due to the lack of distinct planning for the wild land fires, the commanders did not have the ability to deploy the proper units when or where needed. Units were incorrectly sent to areas, or mistakenly instructed to stand down or stay in quarters when not needed. The inconsistency in response plans of the different agencies was also an obstacle worth discussing. Again, each agency had there own... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 41. Katniss Idea Of Freedom In The Hunger Games Freedom is something often taken for granted. There is a certain level of comfort people have with the freedoms they have been given. Eventually, people stop thinking about how much of a gift freedom really is. The concept of freedom means something different to different people. Epictetus describes his version of freedom well with this quote. Is freedom anything else than the right to live as we wish? Nothing else. This captures the meaning of freedom by describing how freedom has no one definition and is a personal concept. • 45. Nonviolent Protests We cannot turn on our televisions or get on social media without hearing about recent protests. Some peaceful and some violent, but what difference do the two make? We all have seen riots and we ve seen how they can end: a spray of rubber bullets, dogs digging their teeth into screaming people s legs, and the trashing of public places. We ve seen the sit ins and marches filled with people that have no fear in holding their signs high and proud. To some violence seems like the only answer, but the results are not as rewarding nor as long lasting. Although some may believe violence is the only answer they are turning a blind eye because nonviolent protests are more successful, get more government support, and gather more civilians around the cause. To begin with, the common misconception is that you can t be heard on your issue unless you re being violent. Often violence leaves a bad taste in a politician s mouth as they don t want to be a part of a possible blood bath that could backfire on their careers. For example, a study done by Omar Wasow of Princeton University showed the effects in voting polls after violent civil rights protests in the 1960s, and found that the support for law and order was so high that many citizens voted for republican leaders in hopes that in the future outbursts like that could be controlled. Those leaders used those protests to their advantage by saying violence would not be tolerated, and they can gain just as much by standing by a peaceful protest. Brandenburg Concerto No. 4 in G, BWV 1049, III By Johann Sebastian Bach https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JQm5aSjX6g This music by Bach portrays all the characteristic of early Baroque Music which includes melody, texture, and timber. It is one of the Bach s sets that forms a master anthology that demonstrates all possible possibilities inherent in a specific musical form. It is scored for violin, continuo, two flutes, and strings. The flutes was called fiauti d echo , which represented the softer part of the song that echoes. However, this may not be the case since the flutes appear at the beginning even without the solo violin. Flutes double the solo but occasionally used in echo function. Considering the mad rush I had to get packed for my ten day stay in Bolivia, I knew there was no way I could have remembered to bring everything. I knew for sure that I had remembered my toothbrush, which is the thing I normally forget. I also mentally went through everything I had packed and to my delight realized I hadn t forgotten a thing! The sand asaulted my cheeks with their roughness, but soon the wind died down and the sand was once again laying rejected on the ground. Turning my focus back to the church building, I noticed several Bolivians standing inside the iron gate. These people were all dark skinned with crinkles around their eyes, showing their love to laugh. They were dressed plainly, one boy wearing a shirt that proudly advertised Coca Cola. The girls were dressed in shorts and tank tops, and most of the boys just wore a pair of ragged shorts. I half anticipated them to smell like dirty laundry and unkept hair, but as I received the welcoming hugs, I knew I was grossly wrong. Accompanying these people was the cleanest smell I think I have ever smelled. It clung to them, in their hair, on their clothes and on their skin. The smell of Tommy Girl even came to me after hugging one teenager. The little boys, though dirty with sand streaked faces and hands, were just as eager to give and receive hugs as the rest of the group. Even they smelled of freshly aired laundry and clean hair. Behind them, stood the church as well as a few other buildings. This church was probably the prettiest church I have ever seen.
