Brand Loyalty Case Study
4. Brand Loyalty: Aaker (1996) defined brand loyalty as the attachment of a customer to a brand.
According to the attitudinal perspective, brand loyalty is defined as a deeply held commitment to re
buy a preferred product or service consistently in the future despite situational influences and
marketing efforts having potential to cause switching behavior (Oliver, 1997).From the behavioral
perspective Odin, Odin and Valette Florence (2001) suggested that the customer who buys the brand
systematically is considered loyal to this brand. Authors may differ in defining the brand loyalty but
they all agree on the importance of focusing on loyal customers and trying to increase their number
and their loyalty. Managers know that loyal customers do buy more with willingness to spend more,
are easier to reach and act as an advocate for the brands firms (Chaudhuri and Holbrook, 2001; Odin,
et al., 2001; Oliver, 1997).
Brand Equity and the Signaling Theory

Years ago firms used to depend upon popular bloggers and celebrities to create much notice for their
brands but nowadays the effect of everyday consumers could have even larger impact on the equity of
their brands (Wong, 2014).
WOM is defined as the informal communication behavior about the experiences with specific
services, products or the characteristics of the providers that the consumers exchange among each
other (Kiss and Bichler, 2008, p.2). The power of WOM could be positive or negative according to the
degree of satisfaction or dissatisfaction of the consumer with the product/brand, and this positive
power could have a positive impact on sales and market share (Kiss and Bichler,

Gender Roles In Things Fall Apart By Chinua Achebe
With the arrival of third wave feminism, gender roles are an increasingly popular topic for discussion,
and literature is an effective catalyst for it. This is shown through Chinua Achebe´s 1958 novel Things
Fall Apart, which discusses the effects of European colonization on African society, using a fictional
group of Igbo villages as an example. His main character is Okonkwo, an aggressive and powerful
male figure in the community. He is a prime example of how male gender expectations can negatively
affect people. As Achebe states, fiction [is] entirely fictitious [but] it could also be true or false, not
with the truth or falsehood of a news article but as to its disinterestedness, its intention, its integrity
(Franklin 3). Clearly, he writes with the purpose of conveying truths through the broader untruth of
fiction, and so could not have unintentionally created a character with such problems that are glaringly
caused by gender roles. The way that Okonkwo embodies stereotypical gender expectations for men
makes clear how they can be toxic to everyone. To effectively discuss anything, gender roles included,
central terms need to be defined. Achebe sets this up for the reader in the beginning of the novel, to
construct a basis on which to evaluate further as plot events unfold. He talks about Okonkwo
encourag[ing] the boys to sit with him in his obi, and [telling] them stories of the land masculine
stories of violence and bloodshed. Nwoye [,Okonkwo s son,] kn[ows]

Essay about Poetry and Sex
Poetry and Sex
Since the beginning of human existence, there has been once practice, one instinct, one single
obsession that we cannot escape. Some may call it necessary; others say it s a gift. It can be
controlling, enlightening but it s oh so powerful. It isn t the need for food, safety or shelter. It isn t love
nor greed nor vanity, but sex, ladies and gentlemen.
With the evolution of human communication poets have been using the power of words to describe the
practice of sex, and the emotions that come with it. As a guest speaker invited to this years festival, I
have explored how sex is expressed through poetry from a multitude of cultures and eras. It has
become apparent that the traditions and values of a society ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

And there were gardens bright with sinuous rills
Where blossomed many an incense bearing tree;
Coleridge constantly relates to nature within Kubla Khan, making it inherent to Romantic poetry, yet
this poem is not strictly about nature. At first glance it is description of Coleridge s drug induced
version of Paradise, but a common interpretation of Kubla Khan is that it is an allegory for Coleridge s
repressed sexual desires and feelings. But oh! that deep romantic chasm which slanted
Down the green hill athwart a cedarn cover!
A holy place! As holy and enchanted
At this point of the poem, connections can be made between his words and sexuality, such as fertile
ground and potency, or deep romantic chasm, a metaphor for a part of the female anatomy. He refers
to this chasm as holy and enchanted, alluding to the mystery of women. It is almost as if Coleridge
himself is mystified and awed up until the point of worship for this chasm that women possess.
A savage place! as holy and enchanted
As e er beneath a waning moon was haunted
By woman wailing for her demon lover!
Coleridge paints a vivid picture of a woman tormented by love and desire, wailing with an almost
religious fervor. This is accentuated by use of exclamation marks. Thus,

Television And Its Impact On The World War II
In 1926 John Logie Baird transmitted his first image with his new mechanical television. As the 4 x2
image of his business partner illuminated his face, Baird was completely unaware of the influence this
new medium would have on the opinions and attitudes of the people of the world. Television
represented a new opportunity to bring not only audio like radio but to place an image in every home.
Along with the work of many other inventors television was soon to become a viable medium of
entertainment and news but it did face many setbacks. At first television was a novelty, completely
overshadowed by the established medium of radio. Before World War II very few homes contained a
television and broadcasters mostly aired 15 minute segments and were limited in technology. Then on
September 1, 1939 Hitler and Germany invaded Poland and the world plunged into World War II. The
FCC issued a ban on the construction of television equipment causing the growth of television to
stagnate. At the end of the war economic prosperity and a rising middle class opened the door for a
new rise in the purchase of goods. One such good was the television. In 1947 only a few thousand
homes owned a television. By 1950 six million homes contained a television, and in 1960 around 60
million homes contained a television. During this period a new war was being waged: the Cold War.
In this battle between United States and the Soviet Union ideals propaganda was the main way to
grow support for their cause

Informative Speech About Dota
In recent years, the number of people who are interested in computer games began to grow, and it is
not a secret for anybody. Some people began to play because of new games with constantly evolving
and improving graphics, and another people like the opportunity to leave the real world that is full of
pressures and stress for a while, but most of them play because of games which exist for a long time
and only becomes more popular every day. About one of these games I would like to talk. So, today
we will talk about one of the most popular games all over the world established by excellent company

The Main Goal Of Taking Me299 Course
Introduction The main goal of taking ME299 course is to learn the requirements and achieving the
knowledge of needed acknowledgement to fulfill the final thesis (ME500). Actually, as a mechanical
engineer I should be able to handle and manage related electronic and computer sections in
conjunction with mechanical project. For the final thesis, I will design a prototyped soil sample
collector vehicle. This vehicle would be able to be controlled remotely. In much simple words, the
vehicle moves to a defined place in distance, collects little of sampled soil (Probably, it would be sand
for the test) and gets back to the starting point. One of the main tasks would be designing an optimized

Professor Massimo Banzi was looking for a low cost way to make it easier for the design students

from Malmo University in Sweden who was looking for a similar solution, and Arduino was born.
There are many different types of Arduino like Uno, Yun, and Mega. Arduino Uno is chosen to be the
drive the brain of the robot (Fig1). Dinner is served was the blog title announcing on September 25,
2010, the arrival of thee Arduino Uno (meaning one in Italian), and it s the bigger brother Mega2560.
The Arduino Uno is pin compatible with previous Arduinos, including the Duemilanove and its
predecessor the Diecimila. Figure 1 Arduino UNO The major difference between the Uno and its
predecessors is the inclusion of an ATmega8U2 microcontroller programmed as a USB to serial
converter, replacing the ageing FTDI chipset used by previous versions. The ATmega8U2 can be
reprogrammed to make the Arduino look like another USB device, such as a mouse, keyboard, or
joystick. Another difference is that it has a more reliable onboard 3.3 volts, which helps with the
stability of some shields that have caused problems in the past. The Uno is a good all purpose Arduino
and is the best bet for a starter board with its auto switching

Evaluation Of Performance Management Systems Essay
Evaluation of performance management systems (500 words) Recognition Business change and adapt
their goals and strategies all the time as the world of business changes rapidly. A very critical but
overlooked element of the renewal process is the impact of the businesses change has on the
employees behaviour and motivation. Managers must ensure that the rewards and recognition systems
are very carefully set aligned with operational goals and overall strategic. If the reward and
recognition system is misaligned with the objectives that the managers had in mind the result in
behaviour could hinder the organisation. The unanticipated actions may be a personal benefit for the
employee also may be beneficial to front line sales represents and floor managers but this moves the
organisation away from its overall goals. The challenge is to assess and implement an incentive
system that motivates employees to act in support of strategic and operational objectives. But how
does an operational manager or executive know when they have the right rewards and recognition
program, or if the one they have implemented is still having the desired effect? In addition to
measuring progress of employee performance toward corporate goals, well defined performance
measurement systems help gauge employee reception, understanding and buy in for reward systems.
This critical feedback can help managers make adjustments necessary to drive improvements and
avoid the unanticipated behaviours and

Ignaz Semmelweis Handwashing
How Dr. Ignaz Semmelweis Almost Saved Countless Lives in 1847 Since 1847, Ignaz Semmelweis
had been advocating in the medical community for the increase in the practice of handwashing. Based
on the work of medical historian Dr. Howard Markel, we know that Dr. Semmelweis pioneered the
medical field in prophylaxis (the prevention of disease) through his use of sanitation. Dr. Ignaz
Semmelweis was a prickly Hungarian obstetrician at Vienna General Hospital (Markel 1). An
obstetrician is a doctor qualified to care for women giving birth. He tested many theories as to the
mysterious cases of puerperal fever that plagued the maternity ward. In 1847 Ignaz Semmelweis
almost revolutionized medical care when he discovered the importance of handwashing; ... Show

While he was correct in his theory about what was causing puerperal fever to plague his maternity
ward, his attitude towards his colleagues and his peers own desires to maintain their reputations was
what caused him to be forced out of the hospital. Ignaz Semmelweis superiors believed in the
miasmatic theory of disease; the theory that bad air caused disease (Neuhauaser 2). They did not want
to believe that they were the cause of such illness. Due to his superiors disbelief of his theories, Ignaz
s assistant professorship was never renewed (2). Ignaz left Vienna and traveled to Budapest, where he
taught at St. Rochus Hospital. Ignaz started to berate doctors and nurses about handwashing he refused
to accept any criticism. He sent a letter to his former colleague reading, Should you Herr Hofrath,
without having disproved my doctrine, continue to train your pupils [against it], I declare before God
and the world that you are a murderer and the History of Childbed Fever would not be unjust to you if
it memorialized you as a medical nero (Neuhauser 2). Ignaz Semmelweis felt bitter about his idea
being rejected by his peers, and often berated other doctors and sent hateful letters. Due to his
behavior Ignaz Semmelweis was fired from his job, and was committed to an insane asylum. Dr.
Semmelweis died two weeks later in 1865 at the age of forty seven. Some claim that he

her upper neck. She is very active and plays golf in her spare time. Given her outdoor activities, she
thought that she had a mosquito bite; however, the nodule has not improved over the past 3 weeks.
The nodule has started to grow larger, itches and bleeds when scratched. The patient denies having any
other significant past medical history. Examination shows a 0.75 cm (7.5 mm) lesion on the back of
her neck, seen in the image. Which of the following is most appropriate in the management of this
patient? A. Excisional biopsy B. Interferon alpha C. Observation D. Positron emission tomography E.

Hooking the Reader in Ian McEwan s Enduring Love Essay
The beginning is simple to mark . This is the opening sentence of Ian McEwan s novel Enduring Love
, and in this first sentence, the reader is unwittingly drawn into the novel. An introduction like this
poses the question, the beginning of what? Gaining the readers curiosity and forcing them to read on.
The very word beginning allows us an insight into the importance of this event, for the narrator must
have analysed it many a time in order to find the moment in which it all began, and so it is obviously
significant period of his life. And surely if the beginning is simple , what is to come must be complex.
This and the writers delaying tactics, attention to precise detail and a red herring hook the reader and

moment of the narrative.
Whilst Joe runs towards the danger, he hears the shout again, followed by a child s cry, enfeebled by
the wind . Now that a child has been involved in this danger, it becomes all the more grave, for
nothing provokes more feeling then the possibility of a child perishing. This in itself goads the reader
to read on, willing the child to be saved, yet prepared for it to die. Yet we are still unaware as to what
this danger is exactly. As our hero races towards it, we are treated to a rather mathematical description
of what is happening around him through the viewpoint of a buzzard, again giving the impression that
this is something Joe has been recollecting and scrutinizing since it took place, looking at it from all
angles, therefore giving it even more importance. The only clue we are given is the narrator revealing
that the event about to take place is a fall, but who s? While Joe rushes to the scene, so too do others;

He does so in a way that is assertive rather than aggressive. Instead of aggressively pushing his
thoughts onto Dianne without explanation, Earl works towards achieving his desired goals by openly
expressing his frustration as a response to his mother s commands. In conjunction with his dominant
conflict style, he threatens, the more you tell me to, the more I won t, which qualifies as a threat,
because it meets the two required criteria. First, the source of the threat must control the outcome. Earl
controls the outcome of the situation since he has the ability to either obey or disobey Dianne.
Secondly, the threat must be seen as negative by the recipient. In this case, the recipient Dianne sees
the condition of Earl s comment as negative since she will not get her way (Wilmot and Hocker, 159).
Earl uses the threat in an attempt to put an end to his mother s current and future demands. However,
the use of a threat begs the question, what is gained? Although Earl solves his immediate issue of
changing the sheets at his own convenience, he risks leaving the bigger problem unresolved and
damaging the relationship with his mother (Wilmot and Hocker, 160). After this one instance, Dianne

Impressionism and Post-Impressionism Essay
Impressionism and Post Impressionism are two artistic movements that had profound influences on
the artistic community and world as a whole. Both sought to break the molds of previous artistic styles
and movements by creating work truly unique to the artist him or herself. The artists of the
Impressionism and Post Impressionism movements employed vibrant color pallets, well defined brush
strokes, and unique perspectives on their subjects that sought to capture light, movement, and

Unlike the previous artistic movements, the Impressionists sought to move away from the rigidity of
religious themes and stiff portraits that limited the artist s creativity and unique style as an artist. Even
painting outside of a studio en plein air was relatively unheard of until the Impressionists stepped
outside of the restrictive box. The Impressionist artists employed an advanced understating of
techniques that included: Color theory, broken brushstrokes, subject matter, optics, light, and
movement. These techniques allowed the Impressionists to separate their work and style from that of
previous artistic movements. Though they employed a variety of techniques to achieve their unique
style, the technique that truly set them apart was their use of broken brushstrokes. Previous artistic
movements sought to hide brushstrokes into a soft, smooth, seamless design. But by doing this, the
unique style of the artist is limited. The broken brushstroke technique allowed the artist to put his or
her brushstrokes at the forefront of the painting, they became as important to the painting as the
subject matter itself. And each artist was able to use this technique to their own unique benefit. From
Monet and his small yet delicate brushstrokes lending to an almost pixilated quality, to Edgar Degas
who used a softer hand and brushstroke to create a light and ethereal feel to his paintings while

Dynamic characters are characters which go through substantial changes, typically due to a traumatic

character known as Sweeney Todd is arguably a dynamic character; Due in part, heavily, to having his
tendencies of being entirely self motivated and caring nothing for anyone but himself ripped away as
he discovers he murdered his wife. Sweeney Todd at the beginning of the play obviously seems to care

regardless of that fact, he is more than willing to put her and Anthony directly in harm s way via a
cunning plan, so that he may get the opportunity to murder the judge. Sweeney Todd shows absolutely
no loyalties to anyone and would go so far as sacrificing the last of his own flesh and blood. Sweeney
ignores opportunities to speak with his daughter and even threatens to severe her jugular when he feels
she is getting in the way or becoming a risk to him. Mrs. Barker, or Sweeney Todd s wife, is dead as
far as he is aware, but he gets into direct confrontations with her numerous times and just pushes her
away; blinded to her existence as his long lost wife. Sweeney Todd pays no attention to the identity of
the woman whom seems to bother and fondle everyone she meets while begging for change. However,
if he hadn t been so distracted with his revenge he might have noticed that thewoman whom stood in
front of him was none other than his wife from many years earlier. It becomes hard to picture a scene
in which any right minded individual could look into the eyes of a long lost spouse and murder them
without becoming privy to the knowledge that they are past partners.

Racism and injustice in Canada are not an inherently new concepts. They have been woven into the
fabric of the Canadian nation long before confederation in 1867. Journey to Justice, directed by Roger

The Great Awakening was a series of religious revivals that greatly contributed to the separation of
church and state, it did this because it played a part in the growth of different types of Protestantism.
In addition, the Great Awakening embraced evangelical style teachings and focused on church
congregations. Furthermore, the Great Awakening formed new boundaries between the church and
state that before were nonexistent by changing church membership requirements, growth in the variety
of religion and making religion a more emotional and personal experience. The Puritan Church was
wilting under the weight of their doctrines and membership requirements. Some worshipers of
Calvinism due to Jacobus Arminians, a dutch theologian, disagreed with the Calvinist doctrine of

St Brigid was born in 451 AD in Faughart, Dundalk, Ireland. As St Brigid s mother was a slave this
meant that St Brigid would be born into slavery. When St Brigid s mother fell pregnant the Dubthach s
wife forced him to sell her to a druid. During this period of time, lots of people were suffering from
violence and poverty. From a young age, it was clear to see that St Brigid was holy. As St Brigid grew
older she performed many miracles such as, feeding and healing the poor. When St Brigid was around

Bear Fighting [1] In a typical bear fighting event there are twenty five fights. In each fight, no matter
which of the four provinces the event takes place, the rules are the same. A bear is tethered to a central
pole by a rope. The length of the rope can vary from two to five metres. Two bull terriers are set onto
the tethered bear. The dogs try to make the bear roll over. To make the bear roll over, the dogs target
the muzzle, tongue, chin and ears. These parts of the body are the most sensitive. If a dog does
manage to attach his body to one of the sensitive parts, he can then proceed to pull the ... Show more

All bears would have access to a large open outside area during the day and would sleep inside.
[4]Once the Pakistani authorities teach legal, moral and ethnic arguments on bear baiting and make it
part of the school curriculum, WSPA will produce public awareness posters and other materials such
as leaflets. Many Pakistanis believe that educating children about bear baiting is unfair. They argue
children are to young to learn about bear baiting and their decisions will be made for them. If children
do not get taught both sides of bear baiting at a relatively young age, when are they going to learn?
The children are not going to have their decisions made for them, they are simply being informed on
bear baiting. It would not be necessary to teach at girl s schools, only at boy s schools as the audience
of a bear baiting event is solely male.
If the Pakistani government set up a bear registration scheme to monitor and stop further depletion of
wild bears, then WSPA will employ assistance to the Pakistani government.
WSPA have already started to educate in the Pakistani low income kalander (gypsy) communities
about the law of bear baiting. They have begun to re train many kalanders and find new jobs which are
legal and outside the paths of bear baiting and dancing. WSPA promise to continue their work if the
Pakistani government help and fund WSPA.

Identity In The Lone Ranger And Tonto Fist
The texts Mary Shelley s Frankenstein, William Shakespeare s Julius Caesar, as well as Sherman
Alexie s The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven all ask us to consider the relationship
between rhetoric and identity. When thinking about identity it depends on the person. I would define
identity as the key characteristics about each of us that we define ourselves by. How we want to be
seen by others, and how we think others see us. What parts of ourselves we choose to keep private and
what parts we choose to let people see. What we believe morally and dream wise. Our existence and
worth as a human both soul and body which is not determined or differentiated by anything you do or
fail to do, but is inherent and vital in you from your ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most of the indians have drinking and drug problems which these problems are basic personal
problems that they have. In the stories the characters will often be in one place out of the ordinary,
after that they will be transported back in time to one distinct memory. This sort of thing works in
these stories because, it reminds me of how our minds work. It makes me think about how people are
not always there. In class sometimes I stare off into space as most people probably do because they are
thinking about things. Our dreams and memories drift in and out of our minds throughout the day, and
I believe this is what Alexie is trying to demonstrate with the characters in the various stories because
it makes them seem more real and it makes the stories seem like they are coming to life. If Alexie did
not reply on this rhetoric strategy the characters would collapse and be dull, but the characters is what
gives the story life. In the stories the characters go through several dilemmas such as in the first
chapter families fighting with each other, substance abuse as well as detestable living conditions.
When they search for something it lead many of the characters in his book to imagine, desire, and look
for something that they did not already have, and to

Banning Concealed Carry
There were 372 mass shootings in the US in 2015, killing 475 people and wounding 1,870 (MST).
Guns are not a bad thing, it s the people carrying them. That is why I think there should be Gun
control that does not abuse the power of the rightfully armed. Stronger regulations are okay, but they
should not violate the Second Amendment. All states should have carry laws allowing concealed carry
in all states, while banning open carry of guns. Why should open carry should be banned? Because it
could be considered flourishing a gun. For example, Texas is now allowing open carry. Patrik Jonsson,
a staff writer at Student Issue Research (SIR), reports that Police are discouraged from even asking
about someone s holstered gun. If they do, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Open carry should be banned in all states because you re practically flourishing your gun for
everyone, including criminals, to see all the time. With concealed carry, you re required to provide a
permit showing you are legally carrying, However, with open carry an officer can walk up and ask for
your gun permit, but can do little if they refuse. Open carry could allow a mass murderer or a terrorist
to walk in public with a weapon and gather little suspicion from nearby people. Concealed carry is not
visible to others. In a state with open carry, your gun could be snatched out of a open holster. In a state
that allows concealed carry, who s going to know you have a gun? Guns are weapons of self defense,
not toys to flourish to the public eye. Guns don t kill people, people kill people. This is why we should
have tighter regulations on guns. Again, my opinion is that concealed carry should be allowed in all
states. In addition, all states should have carry rules and open carry should be banned. We can try stop
mass shootings, but not by restricting the average person s gun rights. We can stop some of the killing,
but let s not make the righteous

Rhetorical Language In Apollo 11
What I will be doing in this essay is using all my knowledge of rhetorical language and analyze four
pieces of literature. Over the past weeks I have learned many skills and what makes up a good
persuasive piece and what doesn t make a good persuasive piece and I will put all my knowledge
about rhetoric language to use. The four pieces I will be analyzing are all related to the Apollo 11
mission, which took place in 1969 which put humans on the moon for the first time,I will discuss the
purpose, how it adjusts to their own audience they are trying to appeal to, how the speaker and subject
affects the text, how it appeals to pathos, ethos, and logos , and finally if it is effective in
accomplishing its purpose.
The first text I will be analyzing is a news article from the Times of London reporting the event. It was
made right after the moon mission on a 5 a.m. edition of the paper. The landing of the shuttle was at
3:39 a.m.and Neil Armstrong took his first steps at 3:56 a.m. so the newspaper was made shortly right
after. It was made for the citizens of London to give more information about the Apollo 11 mission
and moon landing and talked about all the big things that happened. The speaker, occasion, and
subject all effect the text by making it informational and providing the citizens with the big
information that happened. It got into people s emotions by creating hype and making it seem like a
huge deal with starting off with the details and getting more intense with

How Hooke’s Law Has Led to Advancements in Respiratory...
Everyday amazing things happen in the human body. One of the things that happens is the way we
take a breath, how we are able to use that breath to sustain life. As a breath is taken in, there s many
different physical and gas laws that take place to allow it to happen. With Hooke s law I will be
discussing what it is, how it relates to respiratory care, and the medical advances it may include.
Hooke s law was named after the man that discovered it in 1660. Robert Hooke was a 17th century
physicist who discovered the relationship between the forces applied to a spring and elasticity. He
published his book in 1678 that included the description of his work. Hooke s law states that any
elastic body, like a spring is acted on by a unit of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once the limits have been reached, there is very little or no change that will occur in the response to
any pressure change. This is figured out by using the equation of change in pressure and the change in
volume. (Jardins, 2013) By using this equation it will help figure out how compliant the lungs are.
This is critical in figuring lung dysfunctions and developing care for a patient. One of the major
diseases that lowers the elastance of the lung and the most preventable is Chronic obstructive
pulmonary disease (COPD). COPD is categorized with an increase of airway resistance and the loss of
lung elasticity. As a restriction in airflow develops, it leads to the hyperinflation of the alveoli. Some
other diseases that are caused by low elastic conditions and is related to Hooke s law are traumatic
chest injuries, pneumonia, pneumothorax, pleural effusion, acute respiratory distress syndrome,
pulmonary edema, and interstitial lung disease. All of the disease and/or illness s cause the pressure
volume curve to slide to the right very quickly and allows the lung elastic properties to decrease
significantly. (Jardins, 2013) Hooke s law is directly related to the use of mechanical ventilation. If
when a patient is placed on a mechanical ventilation, you can exceed the limitations cause by the
lower elastance of the lung. A severe type of pneumothorax can occur in people who need mechanical
assistance to breathe. The action of the

Hanukkah
Hanukkah Many families during the month of December are busy shopping for Christmas presents,
decorating a Christmas tree, and getting ready for Santa Clause. For those families celebrating
Hanukkah this can conclude of preparing Latkes, singing Ma Oz Tzur, and lighting the candles of the
Menorah. Hanukkah or Chanukah is an eight day and eight nights Jewish holiday established on the
25 of Kislev (Macaulay).Hanukkah dates are different every year. For 2015 Hanukkah is celebrated on
the 6th of December thru December 14th (Chabad). Hanukkah is a celebration of the Jews victory
against the Greek and the oil that lasted eight days and eight nights in the Holy Temple (ifcg). The
origin of Hanukkah comes from the heroic victory from the Greeks. While celebrating Hanukkah there
are many traditions and customs. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For ones of Jewish faith a Christmas tree is replaced for a Menorah. A Menorah is Hebrew for
candelabrum a ceremonial lamp of nine branches (Jewishvirtuallibrary). The Menorah is the oldest
and main ritual object during Hanukkah (Ibid). Every year at nightfall the first candle of the Menorah
is lit (Chabad). A light unto the nations Isaiah 42:6 is said to be the Menorah mission statement and is
the symbol of Israel nation (Jewishvirtuallibrary). After the Jews flock the Greek emperor Antiochus

Hebrew month consisting of November toward December (ibid). That same day the Jews went to light
the candles of the temples Menorah only to realize that the Greek had polluted all of the oil with only
an enough to provide one night of light from the candles (ibid). However, the oils had lasted eight

How Does Identity Influence June s Sexual Identity
June s growing up trying to find some clues of his current impulsive urges and automatic thinking, but
we did not touch on the sexual identity part because it was not the main concern at that time. Sexual
identity starts its formation at a young age and continues to change or solid with the individual s
development. I do not know exactly when and what influences June s sexual identity, but I wonder If
we could explore or even talk about that, maybe we could have something new discovers and gain a
deeper understanding of June s own identity in order to answer the questions: who is he? What are the
crucial factors influencing his identity? How do his gender identity and sexual orientation define him?
And how does his sexual identity impact his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

getting to know him better. When I combine all his information together, the bigger portfolio makes
much more sense to me. Considering that job searching is also one of his treatment plan goals, having
June s traits on hand, I think traits factors model would be an appropriate model because it
concentrates on identifying the characteristics of the individual s traits in order to match the factors
within the work environmentso that hopefully June can find a job that is most closely aligned with his
personal characteristics and to minimize the possible misunderstanding regarding his sexual

Reflection Paper On Preschool Education
Reflection Paper In my opinion preschool is a very important part in education and it should be
provided to all. Preschool has been provided for some kids in the past and for others they have not had
the chance to be able to be enrolled in these programs. From the research that there has been about
preschool programs, there tends to be a lot of positive results. The idea of early education on children
has always caught my attention because of all the benefits it comes with. That is why my belief is that
schools should provide preschool education programs to their communities. My thoughts about
preschool education programs is that I believe they are beneficial to the child because of the positive
affects it has on them. I know that by receiving preschool education before they actually start their
school career, help them adapt to the start of their education. I believe that preschool also helps
children in being able to get used to the idea of having to attend school and to be able to start
socializing with peers. Preschool also opens up the opportunity for children to become more aware of
their surroundings at an earlier age. I believe that becoming more aware of their surroundings, they
become more open to learning about new things. The concept about a federally funded preschool for
all program sounds nice, but at the same time I feel that there can be a limitation. I agree with the fact
that there should be a free for all program. I believe that every child has a right to be able to gain the
advantage of becoming fast learners. Also, I believe that each child has a right to become a better
person or to gain insight about their environment. The problem that I could see going wrong with
federally funded programs is that some requirements can be strict. I can see the idea of it trying to
restrict how many children can be involved in certain activities. Also, I can see that the programs will
be limited on funds to the point that some programs can have more than others. This can be a problem
because it is limiting the resources that a child could obtain.
In my perspective, a preschool education program consists of staff who have a lot of patience for kids,
attend to their needs, and truly care for them.

  • 2. Brand Loyalty Case Study 4. Brand Loyalty: Aaker (1996) defined brand loyalty as the attachment of a customer to a brand. According to the attitudinal perspective, brand loyalty is defined as a deeply held commitment to re buy a preferred product or service consistently in the future despite situational influences and marketing efforts having potential to cause switching behavior (Oliver, 1997).From the behavioral perspective Odin, Odin and Valette Florence (2001) suggested that the customer who buys the brand systematically is considered loyal to this brand. Authors may differ in defining the brand loyalty but they all agree on the importance of focusing on loyal customers and trying to increase their number and their loyalty. Managers know that loyal customers do buy more with willingness to spend more, are easier to reach and act as an advocate for the brands firms (Chaudhuri and Holbrook, 2001; Odin, et al., 2001; Oliver, 1997). Brand Equity and the Signaling Theory Erdem and Swait (1998) criticized the work of Aaker (1991) and Keller (1993) as they neglected the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The power of WOM could be positive or negative according to the degree of satisfaction or dissatisfaction of the consumer with the product/brand, and this positive power could have a positive impact on sales and market share (Kiss and Bichler, ... • 3. Gender Roles In Things Fall Apart By Chinua Achebe With the arrival of third wave feminism, gender roles are an increasingly popular topic for discussion, and literature is an effective catalyst for it. This is shown through Chinua Achebe´s 1958 novel Things Fall Apart, which discusses the effects of European colonization on African society, using a fictional group of Igbo villages as an example. His main character is Okonkwo, an aggressive and powerful male figure in the community. He is a prime example of how male gender expectations can negatively affect people. As Achebe states, fiction [is] entirely fictitious [but] it could also be true or false, not with the truth or falsehood of a news article but as to its disinterestedness, its intention, its integrity (Franklin 3). Clearly, he writes with the purpose of conveying truths through the broader untruth of fiction, and so could not have unintentionally created a character with such problems that are glaringly caused by gender roles. The way that Okonkwo embodies stereotypical gender expectations for men makes clear how they can be toxic to everyone. To effectively discuss anything, gender roles included, central terms need to be defined. Achebe sets this up for the reader in the beginning of the novel, to construct a basis on which to evaluate further as plot events unfold. He talks about Okonkwo encourag[ing] the boys to sit with him in his obi, and [telling] them stories of the land masculine stories of violence and bloodshed. Nwoye [,Okonkwo s son,] kn[ows] ... • 4. Essay about Poetry and Sex Poetry and Sex Since the beginning of human existence, there has been once practice, one instinct, one single obsession that we cannot escape. Some may call it necessary; others say it s a gift. It can be controlling, enlightening but it s oh so powerful. It isn t the need for food, safety or shelter. It isn t love nor greed nor vanity, but sex, ladies and gentlemen. With the evolution of human communication poets have been using the power of words to describe the practice of sex, and the emotions that come with it. As a guest speaker invited to this years festival, I have explored how sex is expressed through poetry from a multitude of cultures and eras. It has become apparent that the traditions and values of a society ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... And there were gardens bright with sinuous rills Where blossomed many an incense bearing tree; Coleridge constantly relates to nature within Kubla Khan, making it inherent to Romantic poetry, yet this poem is not strictly about nature. At first glance it is description of Coleridge s drug induced version of Paradise, but a common interpretation of Kubla Khan is that it is an allegory for Coleridge s repressed sexual desires and feelings. But oh! that deep romantic chasm which slanted Down the green hill athwart a cedarn cover! A holy place! As holy and enchanted At this point of the poem, connections can be made between his words and sexuality, such as fertile ground and potency, or deep romantic chasm, a metaphor for a part of the female anatomy. He refers to this chasm as holy and enchanted, alluding to the mystery of women. It is almost as if Coleridge himself is mystified and awed up until the point of worship for this chasm that women possess. A savage place! as holy and enchanted As e er beneath a waning moon was haunted By woman wailing for her demon lover! Coleridge paints a vivid picture of a woman tormented by love and desire, wailing with an almost religious fervor. This is accentuated by use of exclamation marks. Thus,

  • 6. Television And Its Impact On The World War II In 1926 John Logie Baird transmitted his first image with his new mechanical television. As the 4 x2 image of his business partner illuminated his face, Baird was completely unaware of the influence this new medium would have on the opinions and attitudes of the people of the world. Television represented a new opportunity to bring not only audio like radio but to place an image in every home. Along with the work of many other inventors television was soon to become a viable medium of entertainment and news but it did face many setbacks. At first television was a novelty, completely overshadowed by the established medium of radio. Before World War II very few homes contained a television and broadcasters mostly aired 15 minute segments and were limited in technology. Then on September 1, 1939 Hitler and Germany invaded Poland and the world plunged into World War II. The FCC issued a ban on the construction of television equipment causing the growth of television to stagnate. At the end of the war economic prosperity and a rising middle class opened the door for a new rise in the purchase of goods. One such good was the television. In 1947 only a few thousand homes owned a television. By 1950 six million homes contained a television, and in 1960 around 60 million homes contained a television. During this period a new war was being waged: the Cold War. In this battle between United States and the Soviet Union ideals propaganda was the main way to grow support for their cause ... Ignaz Semmelweis Handwashing How Dr. Ignaz Semmelweis Almost Saved Countless Lives in 1847 Since 1847, Ignaz Semmelweis had been advocating in the medical community for the increase in the practice of handwashing. Based on the work of medical historian Dr. Howard Markel, we know that Dr. Semmelweis pioneered the medical field in prophylaxis (the prevention of disease) through his use of sanitation. Dr. Ignaz Semmelweis was a prickly Hungarian obstetrician at Vienna General Hospital (Markel 1). An obstetrician is a doctor qualified to care for women giving birth. While he was correct in his theory about what was causing puerperal fever to plague his maternity ward, his attitude towards his colleagues and his peers own desires to maintain their reputations was what caused him to be forced out of the hospital. Ignaz Semmelweis superiors believed in the miasmatic theory of disease; the theory that bad air caused disease (Neuhauaser 2). They did not want to believe that they were the cause of such illness. Due to his superiors disbelief of his theories, Ignaz s assistant professorship was never renewed (2). Ignaz left Vienna and traveled to Budapest, where he taught at St. Rochus Hospital. Ignaz started to berate doctors and nurses about handwashing he refused to accept any criticism. He sent a letter to his former colleague reading, Should you Herr Hofrath, without having disproved my doctrine, continue to train your pupils [against it], I declare before God and the world that you are a murderer and the History of Childbed Fever would not be unjust to you if it memorialized you as a medical nero (Neuhauser 2). Ignaz Semmelweis felt bitter about his idea being rejected by his peers, and often berated other doctors and sent hateful letters. An introduction like this poses the question, the beginning of what? Gaining the readers curiosity and forcing them to read on. The very word beginning allows us an insight into the importance of this event, for the narrator must have analysed it many a time in order to find the moment in which it all began, and so it is obviously significant period of his life. This in itself goads the reader to read on, willing the child to be saved, yet prepared for it to die. Yet we are still unaware as to what this danger is exactly. As our hero races towards it, we are treated to a rather mathematical description of what is happening around him through the viewpoint of a buzzard, again giving the impression that this is something Joe has been recollecting and scrutinizing since it took place, looking at it from all angles, therefore giving it even more importance. This paper will focus on analyzing a conversation between a mother and her adult son, while applying ideas from William Wilmot and Joyce Hocker s Interpersonal Conflict, Deborah Tannen s I Only Say This Because I Love You, and the Conflict Styles lecture. First, the source of the threat must control the outcome. Earl controls the outcome of the situation since he has the ability to either obey or disobey Dianne. Secondly, the threat must be seen as negative by the recipient. In this case, the recipient Dianne sees the condition of Earl s comment as negative since she will not get her way (Wilmot and Hocker, 159). Earl uses the threat in an attempt to put an end to his mother s current and future demands. However, the use of a threat begs the question, what is gained? • 16. Impressionism and Post-Impressionism Essay Impressionism and Post Impressionism are two artistic movements that had profound influences on the artistic community and world as a whole. Both sought to break the molds of previous artistic styles and movements by creating work truly unique to the artist him or herself. The artists of the Impressionism and Post Impressionism movements employed vibrant color pallets, well defined brush strokes, and unique perspectives on their subjects that sought to capture light, movement, and emotions on canvas. These two artistic movements re imagined and re invented the artistic world of their times, with Impressionism leading the way and Post Impressionism building and growing from it. Unlike the previous artistic movements, the Impressionists sought to move away from the rigidity of religious themes and stiff portraits that limited the artist s creativity and unique style as an artist. Even painting outside of a studio en plein air was relatively unheard of until the Impressionists stepped outside of the restrictive box. The Impressionist artists employed an advanced understating of techniques that included: Color theory, broken brushstrokes, subject matter, optics, light, and movement. These techniques allowed the Impressionists to separate their work and style from that of previous artistic movements. Though they employed a variety of techniques to achieve their unique style, the technique that truly set them apart was their use of broken brushstrokes. Previous artistic movements sought to hide brushstrokes into a soft, smooth, seamless design. But by doing this, the unique style of the artist is limited. The broken brushstroke technique allowed the artist to put his or her brushstrokes at the forefront of the painting, they became as important to the painting as the subject matter itself. And each artist was able to use this technique to their own unique benefit. From Monet and his small yet delicate brushstrokes lending to an almost pixilated quality, to Edgar Degas who used a softer hand and brushstroke to create a light and ethereal feel to his paintings while ... In Sweeney Todd: Demon Barber of Fleet Street, by Hugh Wheeler, the character known as Sweeney Todd is arguably a dynamic character; Due in part, heavily, to having his tendencies of being entirely self motivated and caring nothing for anyone but himself ripped away as he discovers he murdered his wife. Sweeney Todd at the beginning of the play obviously seems to care nothing for anyone except revenge for the supposed murder of his wife. Sweeney s daughter, Joanna, is his only remaining link to his wife as far as he is aware, yet regardless of that fact, he is more than willing to put her and Anthony directly in harm s way via a cunning plan, so that he may get the opportunity to murder the judge. Sweeney Todd shows absolutely no loyalties to anyone and would go so far as sacrificing the last of his own flesh and blood. Sweeney ignores opportunities to speak with his daughter and even threatens to severe her jugular when he feels she is getting in the way or becoming a risk to him. Mrs. Barker, or Sweeney Todd s wife, is dead as far as he is aware, but he gets into direct confrontations with her numerous times and just pushes her away; blinded to her existence as his long lost wife. Sweeney Todd pays no attention to the identity of the woman whom seems to bother and fondle everyone she meets while begging for change. However, if he hadn t been so distracted with his revenge he might have noticed that thewoman whom stood in front of him was none other than his wife from many years earlier. It becomes hard to picture a scene in which any right minded individual could look into the eyes of a long lost spouse and murder them without becoming privy to the knowledge that they are past partners. ... That is why I think there should be Gun control that does not abuse the power of the rightfully armed. Stronger regulations are okay, but they should not violate the Second Amendment. All states should have carry laws allowing concealed carry in all states, while banning open carry of guns. Why should open carry should be banned? Because it could be considered flourishing a gun. With concealed carry, you re required to provide a permit showing you are legally carrying, However, with open carry an officer can walk up and ask for your gun permit, but can do little if they refuse. Open carry could allow a mass murderer or a terrorist to walk in public with a weapon and gather little suspicion from nearby people. Concealed carry is not visible to others. In a state with open carry, your gun could be snatched out of a open holster. In a state that allows concealed carry, who s going to know you have a gun? With Hooke s law I will be discussing what it is, how it relates to respiratory care, and the medical advances it may include. Hooke s law was named after the man that discovered it in 1660. Robert Hooke was a 17th century physicist who discovered the relationship between the forces applied to a spring and elasticity. Once the limits have been reached, there is very little or no change that will occur in the response to any pressure change. This is figured out by using the equation of change in pressure and the change in volume. (Jardins, 2013) By using this equation it will help figure out how compliant the lungs are. This is critical in figuring lung dysfunctions and developing care for a patient. One of the major diseases that lowers the elastance of the lung and the most preventable is Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). COPD is categorized with an increase of airway resistance and the loss of lung elasticity. As a restriction in airflow develops, it leads to the hyperinflation of the alveoli. Some other diseases that are caused by low elastic conditions and is related to Hooke s law are traumatic chest injuries, pneumonia, pneumothorax, pleural effusion, acute respiratory distress syndrome, pulmonary edema, and interstitial lung disease. All of the disease and/or illness s cause the pressure volume curve to slide to the right very quickly and allows the lung elastic properties to decrease significantly. Preschool has been provided for some kids in the past and for others they have not had the chance to be able to be enrolled in these programs. From the research that there has been about preschool programs, there tends to be a lot of positive results. The idea of early education on children has always caught my attention because of all the benefits it comes with. That is why my belief is that schools should provide preschool education programs to their communities. My thoughts about preschool education programs is that I believe they are beneficial to the child because of the positive affects it has on them. I know that by receiving preschool education before they actually start their school career, help them adapt to the start of their education. I believe that preschool also helps children in being able to get used to the idea of having to attend school and to be able to start socializing with peers. Preschool also opens up the opportunity for children to become more aware of their surroundings at an earlier age. I believe that becoming more aware of their surroundings, they become more open to learning about new things. The concept about a federally funded preschool for all program sounds nice, but at the same time I feel that there can be a limitation. I agree with the fact that there should be a free for all program. I believe that every child has a right to be able to gain the advantage of becoming fast learners. Also, I believe that each child has a right to become a better person or to gain insight about their environment. The problem that I could see going wrong with federally funded programs is that some requirements can be strict. I can see the idea of it trying to restrict how many children can be involved in certain activities. Also, I can see that the programs will be limited on funds to the point that some programs can have more than others. This can be a problem because it is limiting the resources that a child could obtain. In my perspective, a preschool education program consists of staff who have a lot of patience for kids, attend to their needs, and truly care for them. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
