What Does Christian Faith Mean To Me
What does my Christian faith mean to me? Faith is a gift from God. Faith means I won t go to hell
when I die. We were God s perfect creation. Being the loving God he is he gave us free will. We
abused that free will and fell into sin. God loved us so much he sent his own son Jesus (who is
also God) down to earth, Jesuswas willingly tortured and slaughtered by the people he came to
save, dragged the sins of the world into the pits of hell and rose again so that everyone can go to
heaven and be Gods children if they have faith. Jesus didn t stop there. He stayed and taught
people for 40 days, promised that the the Holy Spirit (who is also God) would come and then
ascended into heaven. 10 days later the Holy Spirit came on Pentecost.

Gun Rights On College Campuses
Hannah Keller Nate Barron CO 150 087 April 23, 2015 Seconds or Minutes Away There are
several debates among people that remain in a repetitive and vicious cycle of what is right, and
what is wrong. Concealed carry on college campuses is one of those noticeable arguments. As the
years pass by, gun rights on college campuses have become a touchy subject that is normally
avoided at dinner tables and formal events. The laws concerning concealed carry on college
campuses vary from state to state, and also from campus to campus. Several factors about
concealed carry either have people uneasy while others adamantly fight for more gun rights on
college campuses and universities. Should concealed carry be allowed on campus, and are people
taking into account school violence, learning environment, crime, student s safety and
constitutional rights? School violence is an unfortunate subject that can t be ignored; when guns
are involved, The Virginia Tech shooting back in 2007 seems to come to mind (Perez pena, Saulny
n.p.). With 33 fatalities and several others wounded, people were in an outrage pushing colleges and
universities to tighten their control on guns (Perez pena, Saulny n.p.). These kinds of shootings are
always massive headlines in the news, creating a negative connotation surrounding guns and
concealed carry (Blackman n.p.). However, one point people seem to overlook in the Virginia Tech
shooting is the fact shooter, Seung Hui Cho who also attended as a student in

Cone-Beams Tomography Report
While cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans can show more anatomy, provide 3D
reconstructions, and generate enhanced treatment plans when compared to conventional dental
radiographs, CBCT operation and interpretation should be more strictly regulated because there isn
t a defined criterion for who can or cannot purchase CBCT scanners, additional educational training
is not required to operate these scanners, and facilities tend to overuse CBCT scanners with little
consideration to patient dose or diagnostic benefit. Dental imaging is shifting and the increased
radiation, overenthusiastic marketing, deficient training and limited regulation and testing
currently in place with these scanners have created a situation where the convenience... Show more

Essay Overview of Dementia
Dementia is a syndrome, which is usually of a chronic or progressive nature, which causes
deterioration in cognitive function. It goes beyond what is expected from normal aging. It
causes changes in what you remember, like appointments, or phone numbers. It may cause you
to get lost in a familiar setting like driving to the grocery store. You may not be able to balance
your checkbook or add up your points in a card game. Communication becomes difficult; as you
cannot find the words you want to say. Your personality may change, you may become paranoid,
be crabby or short tempered, and you may say or do inappropriate things or laugh when nothing is
funny. Dementia is one of the major causes of disability and dependency among older people...

Even though people with dementia can stay fully conscious, they have loss of short and long
term memory partially or in full. These people may also have difficulty expressing themselves
or making themselves understood. They may not be able to follow patterns or recipes even
though they may have hundreds of times before. They may not realize what time it is or what
season it is. They may even get lost on the way home from the grocery store. The majority of
dementia is not inherited, but it depends a lot on the particular cause of dementia. Some rare
causes of dementia are inherited, like Huntington s disease. This is an autosomal dominant
disease, which means that only one faulty copy of the gene is needed to inherit the disease
(Living with dementia magazine April 2009 n.d). If someone had an inherited disease and lived
long enough, they could pass it on and it wouldn t skip a generation. Dementia affects each
person in a different way, depending on the impact of the disease and the person s personality
before he/she became ill. The signs and symptoms that are linked to dementia can be understood in
three stages. There are the early stages, middle stages, and late stages. The early stages of dementia
are almost always overlooked since the onset is gradual. The symptoms are familiar to us all, like
misplacing items, forgetting appointments not being aware of the time. As dementia reaches the
middle stage, the

Free Will And Moral Responsibility Essay
The concept of free will is a source of constant debate and has been a major focus of philosophic
and religious discourse for more than two millennia; the concepts of determinism and free will are
among the oldest known philosophies. In the modern age, compatibilists like Laura Ekstrom have
argued that the possibility to have chosen a different action even if the action itself is
predetermined renders moral responsibility possible in a wholly determined universe (Ekstrom).
Conversely, incompatibilists have argued that moral culpability is incompatible with determinism;
arguing that it is fundamentally impossible to be held responsible for an action one has no control
over. In this paper, I will demonstrate that both free willand moral responsibility are issues of
semantics and are therefore unrelated to the philosophic and religious study of free will and moral
responsibility.
The problem of free will is a problem faced only by those who freely choose to do something
wrong, not those who freely choose to do what is right. Specifically, one is only held morally
responsible for acts the other has deemed inappropriate; those acts which are a willful denial of
the social norms or laws a society has constructed to ensure its smooth operation. This link between
free will and acts of willfulness acts against the ideological binary construct of right versus wrong
is where I will begin my examination.
What exactly does it mean to have a free will? To answer simply, a free

The Asian American Population On The Health Disparity...
In 2014, the Asian American population accounted for nearly 5.4% of the total United States (U.S)
population and is projected to increase to 9.3% by the year 2060.1 Currently, the cities with the
largest populations of Asian Americans include the major metropolitan and surrounding areas of
Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Washington D.C. and Honolulu.1 In this report,
the Asian Americanpopulation was defined as individuals who reported their race as Chinese,
Japanese, Korean, Asian Indian, Vietnamese, Filipino and/or other Asian to the U.S. Census Bureau

as well as factors attributed to both cultural and societal barriers. These factors can create and

increase from 319 million to 417 million people between 2014 and 2016.1 Currently, the U.S.
Census Bureau s 2014 National Projections Report has put an emphasis on the rapid growth of the
American population due to two factors; change in age structure and the shift of racial and ethnic
compositions of the population.1 With a significant growth in the American population, health
disparities in regards to race, ethnicity, gender, income and geographical location have risen
tremendously, further creating a gap of health literacy.4 This gap in health literacy has created

Summary Of Howard Nemerov s The Vacuum
Some say losing someone you have a deep love for is equivalent to having the human heart
physically removed from the body without anesthesia. It is extremely difficult to put the exact
feeling into words because there are too many words that do not even begin to grasp it; agonizing,
calamitous, distressing, poignant cannot even come close to explain it. However, Howard Nemerov
attempted the trying task and created the poem The Vacuum in 1955. This poem explained deathin a
way that all of us endeavor to. The mood, figurative speech, and setting of the poem argues that
death is not only hard for the person dying, but that it is harder for those who are left behind.
Dictionary.com has the word isolation defined as, the complete separation from others of a
person suffering (insert citation here). Nemerov could not explain it better as he set the mood of
the poem by writing the speaker s perspective in lines 1 2: The house is so quiet now the vacuum
cleaner sulks in the corner closet . The speaker obviously cut themselves off from outside contact
for a long period of time. Nemerov references back and forth in this quote because just as the
vacuum sits alone in the closet, the speaker is alone in the house. Dust is collecting and there is old
filth everywhere causing an environment of darkness and grief. A modern reader can relate to this
section because this sadness is an unavoidable experience in life and that life itself is dirty and
impure. Personification is

Essay On Women In Romeo And Juliet
INTRODUCTION
Though women were unexceptional to men, women in diverse classes had changed conquerors.
Low class women were expected to be housewives and take care of everything to do with the
house. The expectation of working class women was a little bit different. These women were
likely to work for their husbands and benefit them run their business. They would work beside
with their husbands and then go home and take care of the house hold. Some women were
permitted to work small jobs as leather workers, fabric merchants, or as assistants to bakers. In
rare cases, the wife of a merchant would take over her husband s position and duties after he died.
This didn t put the woman on equal footing, however, women were paid much less than a man
doing the same type of job. Even a Renaissance merchant woman was expected to remain silent
unless spoken to, avoid all discussions of religion or politics, and to attend to the duties of their
husbands business and household.

Reflection About Geography
Every other year, my high school offers a College in the Schools (CIS) geography course. In this
course, there is one assignment that all the upperclassmen would always complain about. As an
underclassman, I had dreaded the year that I was going to be receiving this assignment due to
having a tendency to save my projects for last minute. I will never forget the mapthat taught me that
procrastination makes the process of completing assignments more difficult, especially on a project
that is for a college class.
In the beginning of November 2016, my junior year, our college geography class received our
quarter project: a map of the world. Our teacher, Mr.Sharstrom, assigned our class a large number
of physical features that our maps needed to include such as rivers, lakes, islands, mountain
ranges, seas, oceans, and deserts. Mr.Sharstrom required us to include all seven continents and a
key that showed distinctions in the different physical features of the world. The maps needed to be
to scale and show a minimum amount of distortion as possible. When we received our project, our
geography teacher warned us, This project will be time consuming and you will not want to wait
until the week before to start your maps.
After communicating expectations with the class, a majority of my classmates began to work on
their maps. I knew that my family was traveling to Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, for Thanksgiving
break, so I wanted to attempt to complete as much of the map as possible

The Case Marbury V. Madison
In the early years of the Republic, states came often in front of the Supreme Court to resolve
disputes of issue of the supremacy of the National Government. In 1803 the case Marbury v.
Madison held that Congress cannot pass laws that are contrary to the Constitution, and it is the
role of the Judicial System to interpret what the Constitution permits. The discrepancies between
the Federal Government and the States occurred often, as the States were not happy to give up
their power to the Federal Government. Late 1810 raised the issue of the financial stability of the
states, banks were comprehended as the symbol of power and privilege, and were despised by the
vast majority of the people. During the Anglo American War in 1812, many banks collapsed under
the tough economic atmosphere. Survival Banks chartered by the states were also not in good
position. They lacked sufficient credit to support during the War time and in the post war situation
also. In 1811, the charter of the First Bank of the United Stateshas been expired, and the federal
government found itself not able to finance the war. In 1816, Congress accorded a charter to the
Second Bank of the United States and contributed with one fifth of the bank s capital of $35

before a single form of currency was set, the state chartered banks had less government restrictions

The accuracy of pipetting could be determined by the weight of liquid we dispensed and used it

The Hunger Games And The Lottery
Mark Pedelty said: Ritual is, therefore, a primary site of contact between self and society, a
place where our individual selves are transformed into collective selves. As Pedelty suggests,
rituals create a loss of individualism and an increase in conformity. Pedelty s idea is clearly
displayed with the fictional rituals in Suzanne Collins The Hunger Games and Shirley Jackson s
The Lottery. These two stories rituals are based on chance and are basically death sentences; in
contrast, the rituals are viewed differently and were created for different reasons. The ritual in The

There are 3 different passes that are most commonly made in netball, The Chest pass, The

Children Should Not Adopt Children Essay
Society views adoption as a wonderful, beautiful thing that could be a positive effect for the
adopted child, but cannot see the negative effects it has on the family as a whole or the biological
children. From the perspectives of the parents adopting, the biological children, and of the adopted
child, adoptionis much more complicated than it initially seems. Families that already have
biological children should not adopt children.
Growing from a family of four to a family of seven has had the biggest affect on my life, both
positive and negative. My parents brought my three adopted siblings permanently into the
family when I was four, but they were practically living with us since I was born. Living with a

own story to tell holds a very impacting memory of my life. People may think that adopting
children into a family who already have biological children is a great option, but in the process
do not consider their own child s happiness in the near future or the problems and struggles
caused by a non blood related sibling forced into their life. There was one time I got so mad at
Alexis because we were fighting, for something I can t even remember now, that I pushed her head

My Attitudes Towards The Elderly
Society as whole has many false beliefs and preconceived notions about the aging population. I
myself have harboured dozens of them throughout my lifetime. However, there are a select few
that have stood the test of time as they continue to guide my attitudes towards the elderly.
Though one of the oldest stereotypes in the book, I unfortunately see the elderly as being a
generally unhappy (grumpy) group. I rationalize to myself that they are this way due to
deteriorating health, and also because they are generally unpleased with where life has taken
them. I also feel that as a result, many elderly tend to disengage themselves from society,
preferring to live quiet lives in solitude. And due to their self imposed exiles from the judging
eyes of the world, they take little pride in their aesthetic appearance. So in an endeavor to examine
the impact of my perceived beliefs about others, I interviewed my mother to verify whether or not
my currently held beliefs carried any weight.
The Interview
Me: What is your current age?
Mom: 59
Me: Does the thought of aging worry you?
Mom: Aging worries me. I know that as we age, no matter how much we take good care of
ourselves, we are going to get sick. I m scared of getting sick and being a burden to my kids. And
also, I m not ready to die. I want to see that all my kids and my only grandchild to have a stable life.
Me:How would you say aging has affected you both physically and mentally?
Mom:I noticed that I get tired

The Ethical Principles Of Nursing Essay
According to the American Nurses Association, the definition of nursing is, the protection,
promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, facilitation
of healing, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and
advocacy in the care of individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations. (as retrieved
from ANA, 2016) Nursing is a comprehensive profession with one goal; to take care of patients.
There are many duties involved in this profession. Other than taking care of patients, a nurse s
duty includes advocating, and making non judgmental decisions for patients are priority. Nurses
must be aware of the ethical principles: nonmaleficence versus beneficence, autonomy, justice,
fidelity, paternalism, and principles of integrity and totality. Along with the ethical principles
nurses should keep in mind the ethical codes of conduct. These are the standards that were
intended to coincide with a nurse s roles and duties. These duties are a part of the professional
aspect of nursing, but nurses need also to remember the moral aspect of their profession. The
morals a nurse associates with their career be a gift and a curse. This may become difficult when
it comes to speaking to their patient about end of life. End of life tends to be a difficult
conversation for patients and their families. The reality of living, is that one is born and will
eventually die. Due to the

The United States Contribution to the Rise of Pinochet
The date September 11th is not only a date of terror for the United States, but for the country Chile
it also marks the anniversary of a new error of fear. On September 11th, 1973 General Augusto
Pinochet overthrew President Salvador Allende, a democratically elected socialist. For seventeen
years after this Pinochet dictated over Chile and caused for the murder of over three thousand
Chileans, the disappearance of over a thousand, and the torture and jailing of tens of thousands
more. What might be even more shocking though, is that the United States had a direct contribution

Once in power, Pinochet was assisted by the United States to remain in power. Secretaryof State
Henry Kissinger attempted to hide from Congress and the media the breaking of human rights acts
that Pinochet was responsible for. Only a month after he came into power reports from the CIA
came in stating that Pinochet planned to destroy any and all resistance within two months and this
will require more killing by the military. With this knowledge Kissinger, rather than accusing
Pinochet of breaking human rights laws, attempted to outmaneuver the U.S. Congress to supply
Pinochet with weapons that Congress had denied (Landau 1999, pages 16 17). This support
allowed Pinochet to gain a complete dictatorship. As ruler he closed the Chilean Congress, banned
political parties, censored the press and took over the universities. Through the United Sates lack of
action and assistance toward him, Pinochet used his ability to violate human rights standards and
rule over the population with terror for seventeen years (Kornbluh 2003, pages 19 22).
This cruel dictatorship, was one, Kissenger could have prevented (Landau 1999, pages 17).

My First Grade Classroom At Tatnuck Magnet Elementary School
I spent five hours observing a classroom but it felt like spending time in a new world. I observed
a first grade classroom at Tatnuck Magnet Elementary School in Worcester, Massachusetts. This
was my first opportunity to watch and comprehend a classroom environment with a teacher s
mindset. It was an eye opening experience, I was beginning to see the classroom in components:
teaching methods, lesson plans, philosophies, and common core requirements. Listening for how
to give directions rather than follow them is just one example of my changed focus while in the
classroom. Due to my schedule, I observed the first grade class on three separate days during the
morning to afternoon part of the school day. There were roughly fifteen students, a diverse group
which included various ethnicities and personalities. I feel that I was lucky in being assigned this
class because it was extremely dynamic and I got to witness many activities and strategies in a
couple hours. Throughout this observationreport I will most likely quote phrases the teacher said
as I found them to be key tools when dealing with a situation. For the purpose of maintaining
confidentiality in this report, I will change the teacher s name to Ms. Mallard and also create
names for any students mentioned hereafter. Firstly, the actual classroom setting was filled with
materials and vibrantly colored. One wall was made up of windows with shelving space all along
the lower half. The windows let in wonderful

Pros And Cons Of Agricultural Subsidies
In late 1920, early 1930 s, the government of the United States of America (USA) first initiated
efforts to control the agricultural economy during the great depression. During that period of time,
farm prices collapsed and therefore farmers hardly had any income. Subsidies are benefits given
by the state to specific groups needing financial aid in form of cash or tax reduction. Subsidies are
often considered to be in the interest of the general public. Agricultural subsidies therefore exist to
stabilize food prices, ensure a healthy food production, guaranteeing a farmer s basic income and in
general to strengthen the agricultural part of the economies gross domestic product (GDP)

Since there are farmers with more financial opportunities, smaller farms would suffer from the
inequality that would be present, as they can not afford high priced equipment and machinery to
expand their production or to even invest in new crops. However, when the government decides on
subsidies, especially the smaller farms profit from the extra cash, as they can now afford to keep
up with the competition. This means that subsidies enable the smaller farms to produce at an
optimal level of production. Therefore, financial aids by the state also aim to prevent that there is a
monopoly of one farmer since a monopoly would damage the whole agricultural industry. In
contrast to monopoly, competition plays an important role, not only in the agricultural, but in any
industry. A healthy competition leads to a variety of products the consumer can choose from at an
affordable price since a high contestability leads to prices going down to average cost at some point
because of the constant undercutting in

Characteristic Characters In Edgar Allan Poe s The...
Dupin as a character, is a fantastic precursor archetype for the development of other fictional
detective characters, and their fascinating stories. Edgar Allan Poe, has developed a character with
unique structure, and quirks beyond even his own era, as there are several examples of how this
character has set the stage for unique detective characters of the modern day. The most popular
accounts being Sherlock Holmes, Hercule Poirot, and even Batman. Yes, even Batman! However,
I had wondered what makes these characters so appealing, and I believe the answer lies in the
motif, specifically a character motif, but what is the one presented? Elementary dear Watson:
The motif is eccentric, or odd character traits, blended with quick wit, and amassing knowledge
i.e.: Dupin being commented as odd for liking to lurk in the dark, yet understanding advanced
philosophies, Holmes obsession with keeping documents and alarmingly high I.Q., or Batman s
fear/fascination with bats yet knowing several languages and being able to find a criminal s
M.O. before anyone even realizes there is a crime committed. All these quirky traits fascinate us
from the outside looking in, we become the sidekick, hanging on to every word as if we blinked we
d miss a life lesson.
Whilst reading The Purloined Letter I found myself fascinated by the character of C. Auguste Dupin
. More than likely, it s because I have always liked the detective character type, even as a child I

A common problem women face is the ugly appearance of fat around the buttocks, hips, and thighs.
It s something often referred to as cellulite, and with that comes various proclaimed solutions to
annihilate its hideous appearance. All of which costs and sometimes with an extravagant price. A
much simpler, and more efficient solution is to switch to exercising using nothing more than a
kettlebell.
That s it in a nutshell.
A misconception women have though is that kettlebells are used for gaining lean muscle mass. That
s not true at all. Why don t women train with kettlebells then? Far too many occasions it s just for
the fear that the result will be packing on bulk muscle. That s never going to happen though.
While kettlebells can be used for gaining lean muscle mass, you have to use exercises specifically
for that purpose, and alongside a fine tuned nutrition plan in place to meet those goals. Those goals
can be accomplished using kettlebells, as the workout routines rely upon using a ballistic form of
training, as opposed to the

Red Tape Lord Of The Flies Quote Analysis
Lord of the Flies Red Tape All this I meant to say. Now I ve said it. You voted me for chief. Now
you do what I say. (Golding 73) When the boys became aware that they were stranded on an
island that had no adults, rules, or order they decided to recreate a similar society they were
living in by appointing Ralph leader simply because he was the one who blew the conch and
was the most handsome out of all of them. Later we see how the democracy they chose to mimic
doesn t quite work out for all of the boys on the island. I believe that Golding made this a young
adult novel to show us that the boys, as young as they are and the innocence we associate them
with, know more than we give them credit for. After figuring out they were on an island that had
no adults in sight the boys decided, just like in the society they live in, without teamwork and
cooperation staying alive might not be possible. They were able to carry out a government of their

all about Jerusalem and the Holy Land, or Palestine, have a complicated history. The Holy Land
sits at the intersection of three continents, near the birthplace of some of the world s oldest
civilizations. It also borders the Mediterranean Sea, a major artery of conquest and trade. The
region is valued as much for its location as for its religious history. The location itself may have
been reason enough for people to settle there. In turn, those people developed civilizations that gave
rise to the religions that have spent centuries competing for the sacred soil. The three competing
monotheistic faiths Judaism, Christianity, and Islam met in Jerusalem. Despite their common roots,
the differences among the three religions and their peoples often sparked conflict. 2. For centuries,
Christian pilgrims from Europe had been making the long, dangerous journey to the Holy Land.
There, they visited shrines such as the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Under early Islamic empires,
Christians were allowed to make this pilgrimage. Then, in the early 11th century, the Seljuk Turks
conquered the Holy Land. The Seljuk Turks closed the pilgrimage routes and attacked Christian
pilgrims. They also attacked Christian lands held by the Byzantines in Anatolia. 3. It s 1096 and

Aristotle Falling Body
Free fall sets back to the times of the Aristoles. During that time Aristotle had the idea that more
heavier object would fall faster than objects that weigh less. He came up to this conclusion due to
examining a rock, and a feather, and saw how the rock fell faster, While the feather took a longer
time than the rock to hit the ground. After quite sometime, there was a clear explanation that
Aristotle was incorrect with his hypothesis.
As proof, take a basketball and a piece of paper. Drop them simultaneously from the same height...
do they land at the same time? Probably not. Now take that piece of paper and crumple it up into a
tight ball and repeat the experiment. Now what do you see happen? You should see that both the
ball and the paper land at the same time. Therefore you can conclude that Aristotle s predictions did
not account for the effect of air resistance. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During that, Galileo realized that air resistance affects the motion from a falling body. Which that
leads to where the idea of him thinking what would happen if the effect of air resistance was

gravitational pull of the Earth accelerates free falling bodies. Through experimentation it has been
determined that the local gravitational field strength (g) on the surface of the Earth is 9.8 N/kg,
which further indicates that all objects in free fall (neglecting air resistance) experience an
equivalent acceleration of 9.8 m/s2 toward the center of the

The Antagonistic View of Sexuality in O Connor Wise Blood...
The Antagonistic View of Sexuality in Wiseblood
In the novel Wiseblood, by Flannery O Connor, one finds an unpleasant, almost antagonistic view of
sexuality. The author seems to regard sex as an evil, and harps on this theme throughout the novel.
Each sexual incident which occurs in the novel is tainted with grotesquem. Different levels of the
darker side of sexuality are exposed, from perversion to flagrant displays of nudity. It serves to give
the novel a bit of a moralistic overtone.
The Carnival Episode illustrated Hazel s first experience with sexuality. The author depicts an
incident surrounded by an aura of sinfulness. Indeed, the show s promoter claims that it is

He feels ashamed for having gone inside the tent, and punishes himself. Here, it is evident that the
author means to show that Sexuality is a sinful creature.
This moral tone is reinforced by the behavior of his parents during the episode. Whilst inside the
tent, Hazel hears his father remark appreciatively about the nude body: Had one of themther built
into ever casket, be a heap ready to go sooner. After returning home, Hazel s mother realizes that
her son has experienced something that he should not have, and confronts him about it. Though he
does not admit what he has done, he proceeds to punish himself. It is inferred that Hazel respects
his mother s attitude toward the matter. O Connor seems to propose that Hazel must do penance
for what he has done, or, on a larger scale, for witnessing vulgar displays of sexuality.
Perversion reaches its height when O Connor introduces the reader to Enoch Emery. During Enoch
s various dealings with women, one witnesses vulgarity in all its forms. The events surrounding the
first of these incidents is tinged with a bit of mystery. O Connor paints the portrait of a Peeping
Tom, an adolescent Enoch Emery watching a topless woman sunbathe while hidden in between

Censorship In The Social Media Age
Censorship that has been in the world and in the United States, since the fifteenth century, has
grown sufficiently. Since many years have past subsequently film, radio, and different platforms of
social media have all been censored because more and more technology is not appropriate for kids.
Although many people think that censorshiphas changed the media platforms, it s actually the other
way around. Media platforms have changed censorship throughout the years by switching up social
media, news, government, and privacy concepts.
Social media has shaped censorship over the years by introducing new applications to our
phones and computers. One event that has shaped it was in 2016, when Dan Ilic s video was
taken down from a social media site a few second after Mr. Ilic posted it, the video had already
been on that same social media site in 2011 and was not taken down till then. Gourarie wrote this
article called Censorship in the Social Media Age which explains the events of Dan Ilic s video.
The video titled Is Labiaplasty the new fad? ... soon after clicking post the author received a
notice from the social media site that the video was removed and he was banned from logging in
for 24 hours. (Gourarie). This quote from Gourarie supports the claim by stating that the video was
put up, however, then taken down due to censoring people from the title.

Trojan War
Was The Trojan War Just?
The Trojan War was a Greek mythological war waged on account of the beautiful Helen, wife of
the Spartan king Menelaus, being stolen from Greece by Paris, Prince of Troy. It is one of the
most important, if not the most important, event in Greek mythology. The dispute originated from
a quarrel between three goddesses, Athena, Hera, and Aphrodite. They were fighting to see who
was the fairest among them. They were sent by Zeus to Paris in order for him to judge them. Paris
chose Aphrodite after she offered to make Helen, the most beautiful of all women, fall in love with
him. She then proceeded to take Helen from Menelaus, with Paris s help and give her to him, thus
causing the Trojan War. Throughout this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For in the end, many innocent lives are taken, therefore a just war is waged only for the right
intentions. After all, the Bible does tell us that there is a time to love, and a time to hate; a time
for war, and a time for peace (Ecclesiastes 3:8). War is not wrong, but it is wrong if waged for the
wrong reasons. Was The Trojan War righteous? The Bible says, Righteousness exalts a nation,
but sin is a reproach to any people (Proverbs 14:34). After all, what is righteousness? It is acting
in accord with moral or divine law. This is not the kind of divinity defined by the divine gods of
ancient Greece, but the divinity that comes from the true Lord. According to His laws, waging a
war on account of beautiful woman, is not righteous, or in alignment with moral law. And to
consider material gain over the preservation of innocent life is not war for the right intention
(righteousness). In a just war, the ultimate goal should be to re establish peace. Consequently, the
war must have begun in turmoil, without peace. In this case, however, the war caused strife and
turmoil. Before the war, the two countries got along reasonably. During and after the war, there
was hatred. Now that is not the result of a just war, or even the goal. In the first place, anyway,
there was no consideration of ultimate peace. No, only vanity and material gain were in the mind
of the king and the people of Greece. If the authorities of Greece and Troy were putting peace

Compare and Contrast of Judaism, Christianity and Islam
There have been a variety of conflicts in the world since the beginning of the human civilization,
many of which get their roots from the beliefs of their different religions. In order to understand and
eliminate the conflicts originated from different religions, it is important to take a look at the
similarities and differences among Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
As the largest three monotheistic religions, Judaism, Christianity and Islam all believe in one God
and the uniqueness of that God. At the same time, there are some differences among their beliefs in

In Christianity, Jesus is considered to be the Word of God whose word should be worshipped
and followed without question. As the founder of Christianity and the second entity of the
Trinity, Jesus acts as the leader of The Christian Faith. In Sermon on the Mount, Jesus delivered
the doctrine to the people, to tell them what to do and what not to do. In Nicene Creed, ...For
our sake he was crucified...he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again...he
ascended into heaven... As the medium between God and human beings, Jesus does not only
deliver Word of God, but also sacrificed himself for all the sins of mankind. He fulfilled his
mission to reconcile man to God. Unlike Christianity, Judaism and Islam do not think Jesus is
god. Muslims take Jesus, called Isa in The Quran, as the most important prophet who was sent
by Allah and born of the Virgin Mary, but not divine. He was sent to proclaim the gospel that has
been corrupted over time by human additions and alterations. After Jesus fulfilled his mission,
he was was raised to Heaven by Allah. Since the belief of the absolute unity and oneness of God,
Judaism forbids the worship of any person as idolatry. In Hebrew Bible, Jesus is less important
than he is in Quran. He is considered an ordinary Jew who is either messiah (a king or High Priest
traditionally anointed with holy anointing oil) or nor a divine person. Judaism does not accept any
of the claimed fulfillments of Jesus s prophecy as Christianity

able to show that people with disabilities can do a lot of the things that others can do. Even
though the idea of the show is based around completely unrealistic events and activities, I would
have included some sort of representation of people with disabilities to show that they can do a

Selma Is Now Analysis
Following the end of the Civil Rights Movement many Americans believed this would be the end of
race issues in the United States. They believed that the sit ins, marches, and protests that caused
President John F. Kennedy to issue civil rights legislation ended race problems making the United
States a post racial society. However, as recent racial tensions in the United States and the
anniversary of the Selma Voting Rights March and Voting Rights Act many historians have
questioned whether the Civil Rights movement ended. Society has drawn a correlation between the
fight for justice now with the justice African Americans fought for in the 1950s and 1960s. The

No, Not Really LaGrand gives lynching statistics to showcase the cruelty of the Jim Crow Era
stating The Equal Justice Initiative has recently documented 3,959 African Americans lynched
between 1877 and 1950. Lynch mobs cast a wide net. They targeted Black men accused of
crimes, those accused or suspected of sexual relations with white women, and those seen as
being impudent to white man, in the words of one lynching record. Lynchings were barbaric,
often involving the ritualistic burning and dismemberment of dead bodies . These lynching
statistics are devastating and harsh, but they are still comparable to police shooting statistics in
numbers. Hobbs shares statistics as well stating Federal data show that between 2010 and 2012,
1,217 deadly police shootings occurred and black men between the ages of 15 and 19 were killed at
a rate of 31.17 per million, while 1.47 per million white males in the same age range died at the
hands of police . Despite the means of death the numbers of the Jim Crow Era and now are
comparable. Blacks were and still are targeted and being killed because of the color of their

Hunger, Malnutrition, And Famine
According to recent statistics from the United Nations World Food Program, 795 million people
across the globe, suffer from the effects of being undernourished ( Food Program, 2015, para. 1).
Both hunger and malnutrition serve to be the number one risk to health and well being, more so
than Aids, Tuberculosis, and Malaria combined ( FoodProgram, 2015, para. 1). Although the planet
produces enough food to feed everyone (Wright Boorse, 2014), hunger, malnutrition, and famine
continue to adversely affect people in both developed and developing nations. Children are
particularly susceptible to the ill effects of hunger and malnutrition as stunting or growth failure,
aside for disease, is the leading cause of abnormal growth development in children ( Stunting, n.d.).
In July of 2015, while serving as a health care provider, at a two day medical clinic in the
impoverished town of Suscal, Ecuador, a fairly young woman sought my treatment for her 12 year
old son who was suffering the consequences of chronic diarrhea from a parasitic infection
contracted by drinking contaminated water. Besides chronic diarrhea, the child also suffered the
after effects of the Hepatitis B virus, which was contracted by eating contaminated food. Most
stunning was the child s clinical presentation of being underdeveloped and underweight for a
normal 12 year old. Even more alarming was the fact that the child was missing both maxillary
incisors. Through an interpreter, the mother inquired as

  • 3. What Does Christian Faith Mean To Me What does my Christian faith mean to me? Faith is a gift from God. Faith means I won t go to hell when I die. We were God s perfect creation. Being the loving God he is he gave us free will. We abused that free will and fell into sin. God loved us so much he sent his own son Jesus (who is also God) down to earth, Jesuswas willingly tortured and slaughtered by the people he came to save, dragged the sins of the world into the pits of hell and rose again so that everyone can go to heaven and be Gods children if they have faith. Jesus didn t stop there. • 4. Gun Rights On College Campuses Hannah Keller Nate Barron CO 150 087 April 23, 2015 Seconds or Minutes Away There are several debates among people that remain in a repetitive and vicious cycle of what is right, and what is wrong. Concealed carry on college campuses is one of those noticeable arguments. As the years pass by, gun rights on college campuses have become a touchy subject that is normally avoided at dinner tables and formal events. The laws concerning concealed carry on college campuses vary from state to state, and also from campus to campus. Several factors about concealed carry either have people uneasy while others adamantly fight for more gun rights on college campuses and universities. Should concealed carry be allowed on campus, and are people taking into account school violence, learning environment, crime, student s safety and constitutional rights? School violence is an unfortunate subject that can t be ignored; when guns are involved, The Virginia Tech shooting back in 2007 seems to come to mind (Perez pena, Saulny n.p.). With 33 fatalities and several others wounded, people were in an outrage pushing colleges and universities to tighten their control on guns (Perez pena, Saulny n.p.). These kinds of shootings are always massive headlines in the news, creating a negative connotation surrounding guns and concealed carry (Blackman n.p.). • 5. Cone-Beams Tomography Report While cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans can show more anatomy, provide 3D reconstructions, and generate enhanced treatment plans when compared to conventional dental radiographs, CBCT operation and interpretation should be more strictly regulated because there isn t a defined criterion for who can or cannot purchase CBCT scanners, additional educational training is not required to operate these scanners, and facilities tend to overuse CBCT scanners with little consideration to patient dose or diagnostic benefit. • 6. Essay Overview of Dementia Dementia is a syndrome, which is usually of a chronic or progressive nature, which causes deterioration in cognitive function. It goes beyond what is expected from normal aging. It causes changes in what you remember, like appointments, or phone numbers. It may cause you to get lost in a familiar setting like driving to the grocery store. You may not be able to balance your checkbook or add up your points in a card game. Communication becomes difficult; as you cannot find the words you want to say. Your personality may change, you may become paranoid, be crabby or short tempered, and you may say or do inappropriate things or laugh when nothing is funny. Dementia is one of the major causes of disability and dependency among older people... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even though people with dementia can stay fully conscious, they have loss of short and long term memory partially or in full. These people may also have difficulty expressing themselves or making themselves understood. They may not be able to follow patterns or recipes even though they may have hundreds of times before. They may not realize what time it is or what season it is. They may even get lost on the way home from the grocery store. The majority of dementia is not inherited, but it depends a lot on the particular cause of dementia. Some rare causes of dementia are inherited, like Huntington s disease. This is an autosomal dominant disease, which means that only one faulty copy of the gene is needed to inherit the disease (Living with dementia magazine April 2009 n.d). If someone had an inherited disease and lived long enough, they could pass it on and it wouldn t skip a generation. Dementia affects each person in a different way, depending on the impact of the disease and the person s personality before he/she became ill. The signs and symptoms that are linked to dementia can be understood in three stages. There are the early stages, middle stages, and late stages. The early stages of dementia are almost always overlooked since the onset is gradual. The symptoms are familiar to us all, like misplacing items, forgetting appointments not being aware of the time. As dementia reaches the middle stage, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Free Will And Moral Responsibility Essay The concept of free will is a source of constant debate and has been a major focus of philosophic and religious discourse for more than two millennia; the concepts of determinism and free will are among the oldest known philosophies. In the modern age, compatibilists like Laura Ekstrom have argued that the possibility to have chosen a different action even if the action itself is predetermined renders moral responsibility possible in a wholly determined universe (Ekstrom). Conversely, incompatibilists have argued that moral culpability is incompatible with determinism; arguing that it is fundamentally impossible to be held responsible for an action one has no control over. In this paper, I will demonstrate that both free willand moral responsibility are issues of semantics and are therefore unrelated to the philosophic and religious study of free will and moral responsibility. The problem of free will is a problem faced only by those who freely choose to do something wrong, not those who freely choose to do what is right. Specifically, one is only held morally responsible for acts the other has deemed inappropriate; those acts which are a willful denial of the social norms or laws a society has constructed to ensure its smooth operation. This link between free will and acts of willfulness acts against the ideological binary construct of right versus wrong is where I will begin my examination. What exactly does it mean to have a free will? To answer simply, a free ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. Summary Of Howard Nemerov s The Vacuum Some say losing someone you have a deep love for is equivalent to having the human heart physically removed from the body without anesthesia. It is extremely difficult to put the exact feeling into words because there are too many words that do not even begin to grasp it; agonizing, calamitous, distressing, poignant cannot even come close to explain it. However, Howard Nemerov attempted the trying task and created the poem The Vacuum in 1955. This poem explained deathin a way that all of us endeavor to. The mood, figurative speech, and setting of the poem argues that death is not only hard for the person dying, but that it is harder for those who are left behind. Dictionary.com has the word isolation defined as, the complete separation from others of a person suffering (insert citation here). Nemerov could not explain it better as he set the mood of the poem by writing the speaker s perspective in lines 1 2: The house is so quiet now the vacuum cleaner sulks in the corner closet . The speaker obviously cut themselves off from outside contact for a long period of time. Nemerov references back and forth in this quote because just as the vacuum sits alone in the closet, the speaker is alone in the house. Dust is collecting and there is old filth everywhere causing an environment of darkness and grief. A modern reader can relate to this section because this sadness is an unavoidable experience in life and that life itself is dirty and impure. Personification is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Our teacher, Mr.Sharstrom, assigned our class a large number of physical features that our maps needed to include such as rivers, lakes, islands, mountain ranges, seas, oceans, and deserts. Mr.Sharstrom required us to include all seven continents and a key that showed distinctions in the different physical features of the world. The maps needed to be to scale and show a minimum amount of distortion as possible. When we received our project, our geography teacher warned us, This project will be time consuming and you will not want to wait until the week before to start your maps. During that period of time, farm prices collapsed and therefore farmers hardly had any income. Subsidies are benefits given by the state to specific groups needing financial aid in form of cash or tax reduction. Subsidies are often considered to be in the interest of the general public. Since there are farmers with more financial opportunities, smaller farms would suffer from the inequality that would be present, as they can not afford high priced equipment and machinery to expand their production or to even invest in new crops. However, when the government decides on subsidies, especially the smaller farms profit from the extra cash, as they can now afford to keep up with the competition. This means that subsidies enable the smaller farms to produce at an optimal level of production. Therefore, financial aids by the state also aim to prevent that there is a monopoly of one farmer since a monopoly would damage the whole agricultural industry. In contrast to monopoly, competition plays an important role, not only in the agricultural, but in any industry. Dupin as a character, is a fantastic precursor archetype for the development of other fictional detective characters, and their fascinating stories. Edgar Allan Poe, has developed a character with unique structure, and quirks beyond even his own era, as there are several examples of how this character has set the stage for unique detective characters of the modern day. The most popular accounts being Sherlock Holmes, Hercule Poirot, and even Batman. Yes, even Batman! However, I had wondered what makes these characters so appealing, and I believe the answer lies in the motif, specifically a character motif, but what is the one presented? Elementary dear Watson: The motif is eccentric, or odd character traits, blended with quick wit, and amassing knowledge i.e.: Dupin being commented as odd for liking to lurk in the dark, yet understanding advanced philosophies, Holmes obsession with keeping documents and alarmingly high I.Q., or Batman s fear/fascination with bats yet knowing several languages and being able to find a criminal s M.O. before anyone even realizes there is a crime committed. All these quirky traits fascinate us from the outside looking in, we become the sidekick, hanging on to every word as if we blinked we d miss a life lesson. Whilst reading The Purloined Letter I found myself fascinated by the character of C. Auguste Dupin . It s something often referred to as cellulite, and with that comes various proclaimed solutions to annihilate its hideous appearance. All of which costs and sometimes with an extravagant price. A much simpler, and more efficient solution is to switch to exercising using nothing more than a kettlebell. That s it in a nutshell. A misconception women have though is that kettlebells are used for gaining lean muscle mass. That s not true at all. Why don t women train with kettlebells then? Far too many occasions it s just for the fear that the result will be packing on bulk muscle. That s never going to happen though. While kettlebells can be used for gaining lean muscle mass, you have to use exercises specifically for that purpose, and alongside a fine tuned nutrition plan in place to meet those goals. Those goals can be accomplished using kettlebells, as the workout routines rely upon using a ballistic form of training, as opposed to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

(Golding 73) When the boys became aware that they were stranded on an island that had no adults, rules, or order they decided to recreate a similar society they were living in by appointing Ralph leader simply because he was the one who blew the conch and was the most handsome out of all of them. Later we see how the democracy they chose to mimic doesn t quite work out for all of the boys on the island. I believe that Golding made this a young adult novel to show us that the boys, as young as they are and the innocence we associate them with, know more than we give them credit for. Just in case you guys don t about the history of why the crusades are happening, it s all about Jerusalem and the Holy Land, or Palestine, have a complicated history. The Holy Land sits at the intersection of three continents, near the birthplace of some of the world s oldest civilizations. It also borders the Mediterranean Sea, a major artery of conquest and trade. The region is valued as much for its location as for its religious history. The location itself may have been reason enough for people to settle there. In turn, those people developed civilizations that gave rise to the religions that have spent centuries competing for the sacred soil. The three competing monotheistic faiths Judaism, Christianity, and Islam met in Jerusalem. Despite their common roots, the differences among the three religions and their peoples often sparked conflict. 2. For centuries, Christian pilgrims from Europe had been making the long, dangerous journey to the Holy Land. There, they visited shrines such as the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Under early Islamic empires, Christians were allowed to make this pilgrimage. Then, in the early 11th century, the Seljuk Turks conquered the Holy Land. The Seljuk Turks closed the pilgrimage routes and attacked Christian pilgrims. They also attacked Christian lands held by the Byzantines in Anatolia. 3. He came up to this conclusion due to examining a rock, and a feather, and saw how the rock fell faster, While the feather took a longer time than the rock to hit the ground. After quite sometime, there was a clear explanation that Aristotle was incorrect with his hypothesis. As proof, take a basketball and a piece of paper. Drop them simultaneously from the same height... do they land at the same time? Probably not. Now take that piece of paper and crumple it up into a tight ball and repeat the experiment. Now what do you see happen? You should see that both the ball and the paper land at the same time. They were fighting to see who was the fairest among them. They were sent by Zeus to Paris in order for him to judge them. For in the end, many innocent lives are taken, therefore a just war is waged only for the right intentions. After all, the Bible does tell us that there is a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace (Ecclesiastes 3:8). War is not wrong, but it is wrong if waged for the wrong reasons. Was The Trojan War righteous? The Bible says, Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people (Proverbs 14:34). After all, what is righteousness? It is acting in accord with moral or divine law. This is not the kind of divinity defined by the divine gods of ancient Greece, but the divinity that comes from the true Lord. According to His laws, waging a war on account of beautiful woman, is not righteous, or in alignment with moral law. And to consider material gain over the preservation of innocent life is not war for the right intention (righteousness). In a just war, the ultimate goal should be to re establish peace. Consequently, the war must have begun in turmoil, without peace. In this case, however, the war caused strife and turmoil. Before the war, the two countries got along reasonably. During and after the war, there was hatred. Now that is not the result of a just war, or even the goal. In the first place, anyway, there was no consideration of ultimate peace.
