Persuasive Essay On Plastic Pollution
We need to work on stopping plastic pollution in our oceans. It is killing the animals. Birds are getting
confused from plastic and krill and they get full of plastic which makes them full but they aren t
getting any nutrients and they die. There is plastic covering a huge area in the gyres or a circulating
ocean current. There is more than 7.25 million tons of plastic in the gyres. We are making too much
plastic that we just throw away. We produce enough plastic to circle the earth four times. One could
argue that the ocean is way too big for us to clean it up. The weakness is right now it would take
179,000 years to clean up unless we find a better solution. We are killing our oceans, and we need to
help stop the pollution.
The ocean plastic pollution is a huge problem that most people don t notice. The plastic in the ocean is
hurting people. 93 percent of Americans six or older test positive for the plastic chemical BPA. We
have way to much plastic everywhere that ends up in our waterways. In the Los Angeles area alone,
ten metric tons of plastic fragments like grocery bags, straws and soda bottles are carried into the
Pacific Ocean every day. We are not doing so well on cleaning our oceans. We currently recover only
five percent of the plastics we produce. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The oceans have too much trash in parts of the world. Billions of pounds of plastic can be found
swirling in the gyres of the oceans making up about 40 percent of the world s ocean surfaces and 80
percent of pollution enters the ocean from the land. Plastic doesn t degrade well at all. Virtually every
piece of plastic that was ever made still exists in some shape or form (with the exception of the small
amount that has been incinerated). Also it takes 500 1,000 years for plastic to

Racial Diversity In The Media
Racial diversity in the media, a genuine look at how the media portrays different races. The loose
words used to describe each culture in the media. Media has three main forms the internet, television
and the news in print. Dependent on which one you use the view may can sway one way or another.
Recent media has been reluctant on processing the news straight forward. The spin of information for
ratings causes viewers to look past their favorite news. Viewers now take a look at all sources to get a
better understanding of events happening in the media. Racial Diversity in the Media Beginning a

Media is reporting these stories, yet there is no one living afterward to confirm the story. Luckily, due
to technology you may not get it from your local broadcast. If you wait someone will post videos and
the victim or wrong doer may get justice. Evidence of media stereotyping has happened recently.
Louisiana had another flood and the people went into panic mode. Two media sources reported people
wading through water from a grocery store. An African American couple they labeled as stealing. The
same day a Caucasian couple doing the same thing labeled as finding food to survive. Certainly, if it
were not for social media and further research many may have missed both sides. This is why it is
imperative for people to think outside of their box and explore the whole of social media. The picture
above is proof that the media skews the information according to their audience. Both of these articles
were written on the same day in the same city. The media appears to shed a negative light on African
Americans in the media. A story that comes to mind was a Caucasian couple who resided in the
suburbs and had average jobs. The media describes them so eloquently as a family who just made a
wrong decision. The article described them as In their hometown of Trinity, Alabama, MaryAnn and

Amputated Limb
Abstract
Through previously conducted experiments, it has been shown that amputation results in a reduction
of gray matter in areas in the motor cortex that represent the amputated limb. This study focuses on
the changes in gray matter of amputees with differing intensities of phantom limb pain (PLP). To
analyze two potential causes of transformation in the cortex, the changes of patient s brain structures
with high chronic PLP are compared to patients who did not develop PLP or only mild PLP. In
addition, a second group was tested to specifically focus on patients experiencing intense PLP and
patients with phantom limb sensations (PLS) and slight PLP. This paper gives a detailed summary of
how the research from the article concluded that amputees ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Personal Communication Journal Entry
Journal Entry 8
From this week, I think that learned something very valuable and applicable thing in my career and
my personal life i.e. communication. In my opinion, communication plays a very important role for
any relationship to have a strong foundation and make it last longer. At the same time, it very
important how one expresses it and the other perceives it. The non verbal communication was one of
the important thing to know for any person. There are a few components to non verbal communication
like facial expression, eye contact, and touching. As an international student, it is often very hard for
people from different culture to fit into another culture and get adapted to how the new culture works.

Often times during my interview, I have observed that my mood totally impacts the kind of opinion or
answers I have it for the interviewer instead of just freaking out. Another component in
communication are the boundaries, and the kind of communication pattern that one would prefer. I
learned from this class that a long distance relationship should have theses four important values like
observation, needs, feeling, and request. Since, most of the long distance relationships might not be
able to meet frequently,so communication is one of the most significant thing for couples to sustaining
their long distance relationships. Furthermore, even if the relationship is not a long distance one still it
is very important what both of you value and would like to have a clear picture about the relationship.
Finally, I think that communication is a very important and a meaningful language for human
existence of relationships. Furthermore, for a person it might be different how one would express this
and for the other one who would perceive this. Thus, one important thing to keep in mind is how we
all think because our bodies change our

Our Time Wideman Summary
Do you have any idea how draining it is to be black in America? Rich or poor, educated or
uneducated, famous or anonymous? Do you know what it feels like to be classified as ghetto and lazy
because you come from or live in the hood? Better yet have you ever been called white washed
because you seek a higher education, and are able to actually hold a conversation without saying the
word umm in every other sentence? Do you have any idea? I do. Not everyone is a direct result of
their environment and bad choices. In the essay Our Time Wideman questions the idea of black life in
America and uses both he and his brother s story to explain how the choices we make in life are not
always easy, and how sometimes others may not always understand the reasons behind them.
Throughout the essay he uses the voices of his brother Robby, His mother, and Himself to express and

What Is Theology Essay
What is theology? What does it explain if anything? According to the encyclopedia, it is related to the
Greek Religion. In Christianity, the systematic study of the nature of God and God s relationship with
humanity and with the world. Although other religions may be said to have theologies, this is a matter
of controversy within, for instance, Judaism , which holds that God is unknowable. This article will
therefore confine itself to Christian theology. The development of theology in Christendom arose from
the need for educated Christians of the ancient world to express their ideas in terminology familiar in
current thought. Hence arose the close relation of Christian theology with Greek philosophy

Economic Effects of a Budget Deficit
The immediate effect of a budget deficit is the negative perception of the general public, both local
and international, on the ability of government to manage its fiscal affairs which seriously impairs its
financial and credit rating including its ability to borrow more money to service the country s foreign
debt. Government is unable then to forthwith address the deficit and, as in the Philippines, starts
blaming everybody else but itself for its budgetary woes.
Still, during times of a budget deficit, the Philippines most particularly makes a knee jerk reaction by
trying to desperately narrow the gap between revenues and expenses through two measures that, far

In the future the govt may have to increase taxes or cut spending in order to reduce the deficit. This
may cause reduced incentives to work * Increased Interest rates
If the govt sells more bonds this is likely to cause interest rates to increase. This is because they will
need to increase interest rates in order to attract investors to buy the extra debt.
If govt interest rates increase this will push up other interest rates as well. * Crowding Out
Increased govt borrowing may cause a decrease in the size of the private sector (see fiscal policy) *
Inflation: * In extreme circumstances the govt may increase the money supply to pay the debt. * If the
govt sells short term gilts to the banking sector then there will be an increase in the money supply, this

Similarities And Differences Between The Chimney Sweeper...
Both The Chimney Sweepers poems were written during the industrial revolution. During the
industrial revolution families were living in poverty, and times were challenging. Often times for
families to survive they would sell their children to master sweeps, or master sweeps would welcome
orphans and homeless children into the industry of menial labour. They used children between the
ages of five to ten depending on their size. Parents would often sell their children younger, because
their small frames were more desirable. Even though The Chimney Sweeper (1789) and The Chimney
Sweeper (1794) were written five years apart they show many similarities and differences. A major
difference between the two puzzles is the way the author ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Relationship Between Intelligence And Creativity
What is the relationship between intelligence and creativity?
In this essay I will explore the correlation between intelligence (IQ) and creativity (DT), and whether
one is influenced or can be predicted by the existence of the other. The relationship between IQ
(intelligence quotient) and creativity has been an anchor point for psychological research. Numerous
amounts of psychologists have carried out research in order to find evidence to support this idea of a
correlation or evidence to disprove the hypothesis that IQ and creativity could be related.
IQ is defined as a measure of intelligence that shows the ratio of an individual s mental age to their
chronological age, this is then multiplied by 100 (Cattel 1972). Creativity cannot be measured by
undertaking an IQ test, creativity is subjective and the simplest way of defining it is the ability to
create original, useful and surprising new things. However, over the years pioneering research has
inspired psychologists to devise tests to measure creativity. The most famous Divergent Thinking test
is Guildfords Alternative Uses Task established in 1967. This test proposes that the individual
involved should think of alternative uses for a common item such as a brick. This way of measuring
Divergent Thinking is universally used in contemporary testing of creativity.
In order to analyse and examine whether or not creativity and IQ have a relationship and whether its
influential on each other, I looked at the founding

The Leatherstocking Tales Character Analysis
Oceans ever turning, rivers ever rushing, wind ever blowing, and lakes ever placid. Nature stands with
all of it s raw, unforgiving beauty dunting over mankind, not afraid to show its untapped strength.
There is a sheltering quality to this deception, as can be best described through the novel series written
by James F. Cooper. The Leatherstocking Tales develop an ideal environment for the emergence of
one of the first American heros. Cooper created his character, Hawkeye, as a hero that was able to
personally embody the conflicts that early America was facing in the 1750 s, even though the series
was written nearly a decade later. The seclusion and peacefulness of nature create an environment able
to harbor inner conflicts, parallel to the inner conflicts experienced within James F. Cooper s
character, Hawkeye, as he struggles with the colliding cultures of the Native Americans and Western
civilization. Nature, in all its glory, is known for being able to disguise the truth. This is included in
literature all throughout history, whether it be the ever rolling ocean that conceals the fate of a
infamous whaler, or the mist coverd trees that seal in the chaos that harbors beneath them. Upon the
murder of a Native American, Hawkeye reflects aopn how lake was an unchristened sheet of water
that veiled the darkness that hid beneath. The whole scene was radiant with beauty, and yet it was the
sight of countless ruthless and barbaric acts ( Deerslayer , Chapter 7). This

Deaf Immigrant Process
The immigration process is a tedious path to United States citizenship. Foreign citizens who want to

number of visas available each year, with certain limits by country. The entire immigration process is
very opaque. Now add the intricate layer of being deaf. Deaf immigrants face many problems when
immigrating to the U.S., along with adjusting to life in the U.S. In the 1880s the Federal Government

what they considered defectives or undesirables (Douglas 394). The Immigration Act of 1907 denied

The Effects Of Authority On The Society Today
ABUSIVE AUTHORITY
America consists of many authorized positions of authority. Such titles consist of Politicians, Lawyers,
Doctors, Law Officials etc. including our former and past candidates of presidency. These Political
figures are expected to guardianship the well being of the citizens in our country. Their means of
interest in the people of our country is now being exposed for liberation, freedom and truth in which it
is properly due to all men and women that are created equally. This essay will explore how abuse of
authority impacts upon individual freedom in our society today. If we examine the first impact of
abusive authority, we will find that moral standards are today, at its lowest percentile. It is fair to say
that America has lost its morality. No longer are we conservative or discreet. Yet, we are outspoken
and boastfully filled with pride and our very own alto ego; living for self. No longer are we caring or
outreaching. Yet and still, we build a wall. For example, there are many obscurities that can be easily
witnessed while watching American television. Whereas, many actors are now shown at their least of
clothing or somewhat nudity in the midst of primetime broadcasting. What happened to broadcasting
services only allowing such nature of television that is shown at a specific time during the night? Has
the media authority taken advantage of our innocence, our kids innocence? Maybe! Another example,

very well in setting up the content of his article for the interest of his reader. Other cases he repeatedly
refers to are the Hecht v. Superior Court, Davis v. Davis, and the Buzzanca surrogacy case. By using
these court cases as examples, McKee is able to provide unbiased facts as support in the content of his
article. McKee also uses many quotations as evidence throughout his article. He quotes only lawyers

himself as reliable and credible (Lunsford 308). McKee, having the status of an average reporter,

The Minister s Black Veil , Nathaniel Hawthorne tells the story of a parish pastor in Milford, New

all but his lips and chin. This veil immediately causes an uproar amongst the church members. Despite
the fact that Parson Hooper s behavior is largely the same, the people are genuinely shocked. Right

One woman even swears the corpse of the girl reacts to him. Hawthorne writes Could Mr. Hooper be
fearful of her glance, that he so hastily caught back the black veil? Hawthorne uses the black veil to
symbolize secret sin and its consequences (Emmett). This is reinforced by the fact that Parson Hooper
s sermon is all about that very topic. While Hawthorne never reveals what exactly Hooper s sin was,
he writes in a footnote about a Joseph Goody from York Maine who had died eighty years earlier.
Goody had also covered his face with a black veil because he accidentally murdered his friend earlier
in his life. (Hawthorne) This reveals that Parson Hooper is certainly hiding something, but at least it
isn t that he murdered someone. His fiancée Elizabeth initially tries to reason with Hooper, hoping that
she can get through to him. Or that he will at least remove the veil for her. Instead, he gives her vague
answers and confirms that he will never take off the veil. Finally, the creepiness begins to affect
Elizabeth and she leaves him. This is definitely symbolic of the consequences of sin. Parsons Hooper
refuses honesty even to his own fiancée and in return, he loses her. She asks him to at least explain
why he cannot remove it, but he doesn t give an answer instead he says Know, then, this veil is a type
and a symbol, and I am bound to wear it ever, both in light and darkness, in solitude and before the

more inhumane to condemn these animals to a slow and painful death, than to control the Kangaroo
population in a way that is quick and causes minimal pain.
During a Queensland drought, it was reported by the ABC that a council worker, Chad McLachlan
would drag out roos every morning from underneath buildings, machines or other recreation centres,
due to starvation. Overpopulation of Kangaroos means that they won t have enough bush land to live
on, therefore many Kangaroos will starve to death in a slow manner. Now that is cruel.
The process of becoming a Kangaroo harvester is a lengthy one. The harvesters must undergo training
which is followed by a license. They must adhere to the strict guidelines laid out in the Federal
Government document Code of Practice for the Humane Shooting of Kangaroos , which was created
by the help of the RSPCA.
Although, overpopulation is one of the main reasons to harvest Kangaroos, one of the many benefits
of Kangaroo culling include Australia s economy boost. Kangaroos could form the basis of an
extended meat and leather production industry in

Informative Speech On Pilates
It s no secret to those who know me that I love Pilates. In fact, I ve written about it a few times in the
past (and probably will again). In today s post, I share with you some of my journey toward healing,
and ways in which Pilates is a useful, therapeutic tool to help you on your road to recovery.
The word challenging does not even begin to describe the starting point of my health struggles. For
years, I battled an ever growing list of strange symptoms until a doctor diagnosed me with Chronic
Fatigue Syndrome in 2010. Despite doing everything right all that my doctor told me to do my body
became frailer by the day, and weight inexplicably dropped from my 5 foot 6 inch frame.
Soon after my diagnosis, a series of life altering events occurred; I lost my job, my car, most of my
friends, my ability to sleep, financial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Here are five ways Pilates can help you heal from Lyme Disease.
1. Pilates helps reconnect your mind and your body.
You might feel as though your body has betrayed you, and like you have no control over what s
happening to you. Pilates gently helps you find a mind body connection where you are in charge of the
muscles you utilize through a concept known as concentration.
When you focus or concentrate, your attention on the muscles working during an exercise, you
become aware of just how much each muscle is working. By using your mind to direct, your body s
actions, you are in charge; you make the movement happen.
A consistent Pilates practice enhances your understanding of this mind body connection and allows
you to see that although many things may not be in your control, you still have the power to make
specific changes to movements that feel right to you. Knowing that your mind and body can work
together to help you heal is a very encouraging thought.
2. Pilates helps balance the

Health Disparities Of Prenatal Care
One important health disparity is the lack of prenatal care amongst women in socially disadvantaged
populations. These predominately include women of minorities, women who have a low income, and
the location these women live in. This health disparity is important to address because research has
shown that women who receive prenatal care are more likely to conceive babies of a healthy birth
weight and have low infant mortality rates than those women who do not receive this prenatal care (
Putting Women s Health Disparities on the Map, 2009). Therefore, health disparities amongst women
in need of prenatal care have lead to preventable infant mortalities amongst women in vulnerable
populations. Three reasons why this health disparity is important to address include the following:
health disparities in prenatal care lead to lack of access to prenatal care to women in vulnerable
populations, there are increased adverse health outcomes for both the infant and mother, and there are
excess medical expenses that could otherwise have been prevented. Because prematurity is the leading
cause of newborn death in the United States ( Healthy Mothers and Healthy babies, 2013), finding and
developing a solution will be extremely beneficial and needs to begin with addressing prenatal care.
The first problem that needs to be addressed is simply the lack of access for women in vulnerable
populations to prenatal care. This is a major problem because we see that the rate of women who

The Containment Of Orca Whales

Orca Whales in Captivity
If you love something, set it free. This is a quote that has circulated for years, and nowhere else is it
more applicable than in SeaWorld s parks. Trainers and corporate alike claim a deep love for the
animals they keep captive, but in recent years, the topic of holding orca whales in captivity has
become more controversial than ever before. The CNN documentary Blackfish brought the conditions
Seaworld provides for its orcas to the public eye in a way that had not been done before, which led to
much public outrage. The containment of orca whales for educational and entertainment purposes has,
in almost every way, been brought into question. Ranging from the physical and psychological
damages they experience, the issues in their family structures, and the dangers that their human
trainers experience, orca whales are not fit to be kept in captivity.
Many of SeaWorld s former trainers have admitted to seeing physical and psychological damages
amongst the animals. One prime physical condition many whales have been exposed to is what is
commonly referred to as raking. Raking occurs when one orca drags, or rakes, its teeth along another
whale. According to Seaworld s own website, Killer whales may rank themselves and establish
dominance by... raking (tooth scratching) and other vigorous behavior (Manby). Raking is a
completely natural practice among orcas, but the issue truly arises

Ethiopi A Country Living Of Poverty
Unfortunately, Ethiopia is considered to be a country living in poverty. However, Ethiopians are
continuously striving towards perfecting their country. The people of Ethiopia are determined to rise
above the challenges and put forth the effort to fix their state of poverty. In the following portfolio, the
author will compare and contrast the key features in Ethiopia, observe the future challenges and
directions that health care is striving to achieve, and describe the key contributions that help improve
the health status in Ethiopia. Also, we will discuss the key organizations that will help Ethiopia
overcome these future challenges. Key Features in Ethiopia and Kenya In East Central Africa, two
countries share a border, Ethiopia and Kenya. These two countries are within the same region of
Africa and both are faced with many common challenges. Ethiopia and Kenya share the same burden
of diseases, tuberculosis, malaria, and noncommunicable diseases. According the WHO, Ethiopia had
358 reported deaths due to malaria, while Kenya had 360 reported deaths. Both of the countries were
almost equal to the number of deaths that malaria caused in 2013. Ethiopia s population is almost
double the size of Kenya. The population for Ethiopia is 91, 729,000 people where Kenya s population
is 44, 354,000 people (WHO, 2014). Ethiopia and Kenya both have a republic government. Ethiopia is
known to be the oldest independent government in Africa while Kenya has received their

Participatory Response
According to Gerrig, participatory response is a process where readers encode the types of mental
contents as they would encode them if they were the participants in the narrative world. Gerrig divides
participatory response in the following seven categories, such as the emotional response, outcome
preference, problem solving instructions, problem solving assertions, self projection, re plotting and
character evaluation. Immersion is a phase called by Victor Nell as lost in a book where reader s mind
merges with the storyline and simulates a fictional world as a temporary escape from reality. As a part
of the emotional response, the reader might feel sorry, sympathetic or even start associating himself
with one of the characters. Reading process provides an environment for a reader that engages him in
a passive participation. The following forms of participatory response help readers ... Show more

plots the ordinary events to fit his fictional adventures. For example, he fights with windmills while
seeing them as giants. When Sancho tells him that they are windmills, Don Quixote persuades him
that it is enchanter who turned them into the mills. Moreover, Don Quixote sees an ordinary peasant

Macbeth In William Shakespeare s Play
William Shakespeare composed the tragedy of Macbeth in 1606. The play encompasses the lives of
people in Scotland during the murder of their king King Duncan. One of King Duncan s Thanes,
Macbeth, becomes aware of his future prophecy after the witches predicted it. Lady Macbeth
eventually persuades Macbeth to become eager and greedy which ultimately leads to him committing
the murder of King Duncan. Afterwards, Macbeth becomes the King of Scotland. As time passes,
Macbeth felt guilty and culpable the prophecies that he believed in so much led him to ultimately kill
others. Macbeth can be described as brave and ambitious at the beginning of the play, but his
downfall, towards the end of the play, is caused by his guilty conscious and feelings of regret. After
Macbeth and Banquo return from defending the land, King Duncan expresses how impressed he is
with their bravery and loyalty. King. No more that Thane of Cawdor shall deceive our bosom interest:
go pronounce his present death, and with his former title greet Macbeth. (326) Before Macbeth killed
Duncan, he was portrayed as a very confident and poise character. He was willing to defend the land
he called home, and did so with pride. When the witches predicted that Macbeth would become King

Abstract¬¬¬ This paper presents a low hardware overhead test pattern generator (TPG) for scan based
built in self test (BIST) that can reduce switching activity in circuits under test (CUTs) during BIST.
BIST is a device, here part of the functional device is self dedicated to self testing the correctness of
the device. In general BIST is comprised of two TPGs: LT RTPG (Low Transition Random Test
Pattern Generator) and 3 Weight WRBIST(Weighted Random Built In Self Test) Minimization of
hardware overhead is a major concern of BIST implementation. In test per scan BIST, a new test
pattern is applied to the inputs of the CUT every m + 1clock cycles, where m is the number of scan
elements in the longest scan chain. By using two proposed TPG increasing fault coverage is achieved
through the reduction of switching activity, thereby dissipation of power is minimized.

There in the shelter draw bottom the wind did not blow very hard, but I could hear it singing its
humming tune up on a level, and I could see the tall grasses wave. pg. 14 This quote tells readers how
even small things such as the soft blow of the wind can cause many things to happen, such as the
humming of the wind and the grass s movements. It also symbolizes how the world is at peace right
now. The tone of this quote is in a describing manner by the details they provide in this quote. These
all contribute to helping the reader understand the scene in Jim s point of view.
Perhaps we feel like that when we die and become part of something entire, whether it is sun and air,
or goodness and knowledge. At any rate, that is happiness; to be dissolved into something complete
and great. When it comes to one, it comes as naturally as sleep. pg. 14 This is a theme in this story
telling us how real happiness lies with something greater such as knowledge rather than stuff bought.
The tone of this quote is very serious to help the reader understand what he is talking about. This is
reality, whether you like it or not. All those frivolities of summer, the light and shadow, the living
mask of green that trembled over everything, they were lies, and this is what was underneath. This is
truth. pg. 112 This quotes tone is very straightforward and it serves as a theme showing how some
things are not real. The way this quote is written helps tells the reader that this

Operant Learning Theorists
Part 1
Behavior is explained as a response to a given stimulus. There are two theories which explain how we
learn. These are classical conditioning and operant learning as explained by B.F Skinner and. Ivan
Pavlov .In classical conditioning, there are responses, usually involuntary which are as a result of
experiences which occur before the response in question. This conditioning occurs when one learns to
associate two different stimuli. Operant conditioning, on the other hand, changes in behavior which
result from experiences which occur after the said response result in learning. This involves changes in
voluntary behaviours.
These two theories share many procedures and basic principles. The basic principles of extinction,
spontaneous recovery, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Such a schedule causes a high and steady rate of responding. Examples of reward based on variable
ratio schedules are gambling and lottery . A fixed ratio schedule , on the other hand, refers to a
reinforcement schedule where a response is only reinforced after a specified number of responses.
These schedules produce a high and steady rate of responding but with a brief pause after the delivery
of the given reinforcer.
An experiment to show the application of reinforcement can be given as follows. A rat is placed in a
skinner box. The Skinner box is such that it has a bar or lever which the rat can press or manipulate in
a given way when it wants to obtain either food or water from the reinforcer. In the experiment, the
box provides also a means of recording the various responses of the animal. In the experiment, various
schedules of reinforcement will be applied and the responses of the rat recorded.
The rat then will receive a food pellet whenever they manipulate the lever. Some rats will receive a
food pellet each time they peck the lever and others receive food pellets after manipulating the lever

Power Dynamic In King Lear
In my initial essay I discussed the power dynamic within the family and kingdom, but I never
pinpointed exact moments when the characters losing control became aware of this new dynamic. I
think the performance did a brilliant job of creating statements with costuming when important
moments in the power struggle changed. These bold choices in costuming also helped to explain
instances where the characters had eye opening revelations about what was going on in their life that
they were previously oblivious to. White costumes in this production created a stark contrast against
the black costumes that most of the cast where dressed in, and provided insight into the thoughts of the
characters when they would not always vocalize their inner monologues. ... Show more content on

The next character who reaches this stage of understanding about the significance of their situation is
Gloucester. He changes into his white costuming right before he is blinded. In his blindness he is able
to gain sight about what is actually happening in his life. He finally puts together that Edmund has
betrayed him and the son he exiled, Edgar, was his only loyal kin. The white clothing acts as a flag to
the audience to draw attention to the fact that something has changed within Gloucester. That
something is awareness of his situation, and essentially an epiphany about his sons. Lear also provides
a moment of epiphany with his white clothing, but his moment of clarity is so tainted by the cruel
world he lives in, it becomes his dissent into madness. When Lear comes in contact with Mad Tom, he
starts to realize two things. He realizes how terribly he has treated homeless people, such as Mad Tom,
and now that he is without his land and power and knights, he is now at the same level of poverty as
Mad Tom. All that Lear has known, all of his power, has come to nothing and all he has to relay on
now is his own flesh, making him no more than a mere beast. This realization of his reality becomes
clear to him as he talks to Mad Tom, and so he strips off his clothing to reveal his white clothing, and
his understanding of the

Henry Ford Biography Essay
Before 1907 when Henry Ford installed the first assembly line, the early 20th century provided
automobiles for mostly the rich as a showing of keeping up with the Jonseses. The car models were
mostly complicated machines which mostly required a chauffeur knowledgeable on how to operate the
complex automobile. The invention helped reduce a four men work to a one men power. It first took
around more than 12 hours to build one car to 2 hours and about 30 minutes. Henry Ford said that by
the aid of scientific study one man is now able to do somewhat more than four did only a

Around 1901 it showed that he had been a supervisor and stockholder for the automobile companies.
In 1902 Henry Ford started the Ford Motor Company with an $28,000 investment. He also smart

were to offer the bankers who wanted to invest in his company that would offer dealer franchises. This
required the franchise dealers to pay for the automobiles when they were received instead of when
they were sold. This helped him have additional capital to expand his manufacturing enterprise, invest

multitude. It will be large enough for the family, but small enough for the individual to run and care

that modern engineering can devise. But it will be low in price that no man making a good salary will
be unable to own one and enjoy with his family the blessing of hours of pleasure in God s great open

  • 2. Persuasive Essay On Plastic Pollution We need to work on stopping plastic pollution in our oceans. It is killing the animals. Birds are getting confused from plastic and krill and they get full of plastic which makes them full but they aren t getting any nutrients and they die. There is plastic covering a huge area in the gyres or a circulating ocean current. There is more than 7.25 million tons of plastic in the gyres. We are making too much plastic that we just throw away. We produce enough plastic to circle the earth four times. One could argue that the ocean is way too big for us to clean it up. The weakness is right now it would take 179,000 years to clean up unless we find a better solution. We are killing our oceans, and we need to help stop the pollution. The ocean plastic pollution is a huge problem that most people don t notice. The plastic in the ocean is hurting people. 93 percent of Americans six or older test positive for the plastic chemical BPA. We have way to much plastic everywhere that ends up in our waterways. In the Los Angeles area alone, ten metric tons of plastic fragments like grocery bags, straws and soda bottles are carried into the Pacific Ocean every day. We are not doing so well on cleaning our oceans. We currently recover only five percent of the plastics we produce. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The oceans have too much trash in parts of the world. Billions of pounds of plastic can be found swirling in the gyres of the oceans making up about 40 percent of the world s ocean surfaces and 80 percent of pollution enters the ocean from the land. Plastic doesn t degrade well at all. Virtually every piece of plastic that was ever made still exists in some shape or form (with the exception of the small amount that has been incinerated). Media has three main forms the internet, television and the news in print. Dependent on which one you use the view may can sway one way or another. Recent media has been reluctant on processing the news straight forward. The spin of information for ratings causes viewers to look past their favorite news. Viewers now take a look at all sources to get a better understanding of events happening in the media. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Media is reporting these stories, yet there is no one living afterward to confirm the story. Luckily, due to technology you may not get it from your local broadcast. If you wait someone will post videos and the victim or wrong doer may get justice. Evidence of media stereotyping has happened recently. Louisiana had another flood and the people went into panic mode. Two media sources reported people wading through water from a grocery store. An African American couple they labeled as stealing. The same day a Caucasian couple doing the same thing labeled as finding food to survive. Certainly, if it were not for social media and further research many may have missed both sides. This is why it is imperative for people to think outside of their box and explore the whole of social media. The picture above is proof that the media skews the information according to their audience. Both of these articles were written on the same day in the same city. The media appears to shed a negative light on African Americans in the media. A story that comes to mind was a Caucasian couple who resided in the suburbs and had average jobs. The media describes them so eloquently as a family who just made a wrong decision. The article described them as In their hometown of Trinity, Alabama, MaryAnn and Wesley Landers were seen as doting parents of two girls, a couple with a very strong faith (www.whnt.com). • 4. Amputated Limb Abstract Through previously conducted experiments, it has been shown that amputation results in a reduction of gray matter in areas in the motor cortex that represent the amputated limb. This study focuses on the changes in gray matter of amputees with differing intensities of phantom limb pain (PLP). To analyze two potential causes of transformation in the cortex, the changes of patient s brain structures with high chronic PLP are compared to patients who did not develop PLP or only mild PLP. In addition, a second group was tested to specifically focus on patients experiencing intense PLP and patients with phantom limb sensations (PLS) and slight PLP. This paper gives a detailed summary of how the research from the article concluded that amputees ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Phantom limb sensations are different from phantom limb pain in that they are sensations without any pain. These patients were then split into two groups, one with no to slight phantom limb pain (SPLP) and the other with moderate to severe phantom limb pain (HPLP). On one side the fear, the envious hatred, the general awareness of a more than symbolic abandonment and the sad rationality regarding the possible consequences of the first ever migration of about a quarter of our species; on the other one preparations, euphoria, the maniacal observation of the quiet space nebulized in the universe s infinite mirror: the soon to be exile Pansia sitting on the threshold of the planetoid, looking for itself in the darkness beyond Moon, forgetful even of the shaft displacement that was going to take place in conjunction with its take off. In my opinion, communication plays a very important role for any relationship to have a strong foundation and make it last longer. At the same time, it very important how one expresses it and the other perceives it. The non verbal communication was one of the important thing to know for any person. There are a few components to non verbal communication like facial expression, eye contact, and touching. Often times during my interview, I have observed that my mood totally impacts the kind of opinion or answers I have it for the interviewer instead of just freaking out. Another component in communication are the boundaries, and the kind of communication pattern that one would prefer. I learned from this class that a long distance relationship should have theses four important values like observation, needs, feeling, and request. Since, most of the long distance relationships might not be able to meet frequently,so communication is one of the most significant thing for couples to sustaining their long distance relationships. Furthermore, even if the relationship is not a long distance one still it is very important what both of you value and would like to have a clear picture about the relationship. Finally, I think that communication is a very important and a meaningful language for human existence of relationships. • 8. Our Time Wideman Summary Do you have any idea how draining it is to be black in America? Rich or poor, educated or uneducated, famous or anonymous? Do you know what it feels like to be classified as ghetto and lazy because you come from or live in the hood? Better yet have you ever been called white washed because you seek a higher education, and are able to actually hold a conversation without saying the word umm in every other sentence? Do you have any idea? I do. Not everyone is a direct result of their environment and bad choices. In the essay Our Time Wideman questions the idea of black life in America and uses both he and his brother s story to explain how the choices we make in life are not always easy, and how sometimes others may not always understand the reasons behind them. Throughout the essay he uses the voices of his brother Robby, His mother, and Himself to express and convey the different perspectives through Robby s eyes. Widemen has to look past his own views ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Throughout Our Time there are several examples in which the voices of the different characters change. Widemen frequently interrupts this narrative to talk about the problems he is having as a writer. During the industrial revolution families were living in poverty, and times were challenging. Often times for families to survive they would sell their children to master sweeps, or master sweeps would welcome orphans and homeless children into the industry of menial labour. They used children between the ages of five to ten depending on their size. Parents would often sell their children younger, because their small frames were more desirable. • 14. Relationship Between Intelligence And Creativity What is the relationship between intelligence and creativity? In this essay I will explore the correlation between intelligence (IQ) and creativity (DT), and whether one is influenced or can be predicted by the existence of the other. The relationship between IQ (intelligence quotient) and creativity has been an anchor point for psychological research. Numerous amounts of psychologists have carried out research in order to find evidence to support this idea of a correlation or evidence to disprove the hypothesis that IQ and creativity could be related. IQ is defined as a measure of intelligence that shows the ratio of an individual s mental age to their chronological age, this is then multiplied by 100 (Cattel 1972). Creativity cannot be measured by undertaking an IQ test, creativity is subjective and the simplest way of defining it is the ability to create original, useful and surprising new things. However, over the years pioneering research has inspired psychologists to devise tests to measure creativity. The most famous Divergent Thinking test is Guildfords Alternative Uses Task established in 1967. This test proposes that the individual involved should think of alternative uses for a common item such as a brick. This way of measuring Divergent Thinking is universally used in contemporary testing of creativity. There is a sheltering quality to this deception, as can be best described through the novel series written by James F. Cooper. The Leatherstocking Tales develop an ideal environment for the emergence of one of the first American heros. Cooper created his character, Hawkeye, as a hero that was able to personally embody the conflicts that early America was facing in the 1750 s, even though the series was written nearly a decade later. The seclusion and peacefulness of nature create an environment able to harbor inner conflicts, parallel to the inner conflicts experienced within James F. While Hawthorne never reveals what exactly Hooper s sin was, he writes in a footnote about a Joseph Goody from York Maine who had died eighty years earlier. Goody had also covered his face with a black veil because he accidentally murdered his friend earlier in his life. • 24. Health Disparities Of Prenatal Care One important health disparity is the lack of prenatal care amongst women in socially disadvantaged populations. These predominately include women of minorities, women who have a low income, and the location these women live in. This health disparity is important to address because research has shown that women who receive prenatal care are more likely to conceive babies of a healthy birth weight and have low infant mortality rates than those women who do not receive this prenatal care ( Putting Women s Health Disparities on the Map, 2009). Therefore, health disparities amongst women in need of prenatal care have lead to preventable infant mortalities amongst women in vulnerable populations. Three reasons why this health disparity is important to address include the following: health disparities in prenatal care lead to lack of access to prenatal care to women in vulnerable populations, there are increased adverse health outcomes for both the infant and mother, and there are excess medical expenses that could otherwise have been prevented. Because prematurity is the leading cause of newborn death in the United States ( Healthy Mothers and Healthy babies, 2013), finding and developing a solution will be extremely beneficial and needs to begin with addressing prenatal care. The first problem that needs to be addressed is simply the lack of access for women in vulnerable populations to prenatal care. This is a major problem because we see that the rate of women who ... She posted her latest hair touch up and her very blossomed bump. She captioned the sunny photo of herself and her colorist, Justin Anderson Cavallari and one of her sons, I love you @anderssonjj for coming all the way to Chicago to touch up my hair color. The Balancing in Heels author, who kept the blonde shade, then added three hashtags, the cheeky #hedidntreallycomejustforme, #wethair, and, most importantly, #ilooklikeimabouttopopbutimnot. Nevertheless, Cavallari, who s been married to Chicago Bears player Jay Cutler since 2013, did model quite the bump while wearing a sleeveless sweaterdress. It is a body conscious piece that aligns perfectly with her personal maternity style mantra. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Given that Kristin has been wearing a lot of figure hugging pieces during her third pregnancy, which certainly accentuate her growing belly. I m really petite, and I find that embracing the bump and showing it off is the most flattering on me, Cavallari told Us Weekly during fashion week earlier this month. So, I ve just been really gravitating toward a lot of form fitting dresses, and then, throwing on a blazer and a great pair of shoes. Recently, the 28 year old designer was dressed to the nines even while heavily pregnant as she stepped out to grab a frozen yoghurt treat on Wednesday with her three year old son Camden. Kristin satisfied her sweet cravings in style, wearing a tight beige dress that clung to her protruding bump and all the way down to her calves. Her bare legs were seen until the chic beige leather open toe booties took over. A white vest added a bright touch along with the white shoulder bag as she flashed a wide, toothy smile while balancing two cups of the frozen treat, which appeared to be generous ... BIST is a device, here part of the functional device is self dedicated to self testing the correctness of the device. In general BIST is comprised of two TPGs: LT RTPG (Low Transition Random Test Pattern Generator) and 3 Weight WRBIST(Weighted Random Built In Self Test) Minimization of hardware overhead is a major concern of BIST implementation. In test per scan BIST, a new test pattern is applied to the inputs of the CUT every m + 1clock cycles, where m is the number of scan elements in the longest scan chain. By using two proposed TPG increasing fault coverage is achieved through the reduction of switching activity, thereby dissipation of power is minimized. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Summary Of My Antonia My Ántonia Quotes There in the shelter draw bottom the wind did not blow very hard, but I could hear it singing its humming tune up on a level, and I could see the tall grasses wave. pg. 14 This quote tells readers how even small things such as the soft blow of the wind can cause many things to happen, such as the humming of the wind and the grass s movements. It also symbolizes how the world is at peace right now. The tone of this quote is in a describing manner by the details they provide in this quote. These all contribute to helping the reader understand the scene in Jim s point of view. Perhaps we feel like that when we die and become part of something entire, whether it is sun and air, or goodness and knowledge. At any rate, that is happiness; to be dissolved into something complete and great. When it comes to one, it comes as naturally as sleep. pg. 14 This is a theme in this story telling us how real happiness lies with something greater such as knowledge rather than stuff bought. The tone of this quote is very serious to help the reader understand what he is talking about. This is reality, whether you like it or not. This is truth. pg. 112 This quotes tone is very straightforward and it serves as a theme showing how some things are not real. The way this quote is written helps tells the reader that this ... These are classical conditioning and operant learning as explained by B.F Skinner and. Ivan Pavlov .In classical conditioning, there are responses, usually involuntary which are as a result of experiences which occur before the response in question. This conditioning occurs when one learns to associate two different stimuli. Operant conditioning, on the other hand, changes in behavior which result from experiences which occur after the said response result in learning. This involves changes in voluntary behaviours. These two theories share many procedures and basic principles. The basic principles of extinction, spontaneous recovery, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Such a schedule causes a high and steady rate of responding. Examples of reward based on variable ratio schedules are gambling and lottery . A fixed ratio schedule , on the other hand, refers to a reinforcement schedule where a response is only reinforced after a specified number of responses. These schedules produce a high and steady rate of responding but with a brief pause after the delivery of the given reinforcer. An experiment to show the application of reinforcement can be given as follows. A rat is placed in a skinner box. The Skinner box is such that it has a bar or lever which the rat can press or manipulate in a given way when it wants to obtain either food or water from the reinforcer. In the experiment, the box provides also a means of recording the various responses of the animal. In the experiment, various schedules of reinforcement will be applied and the responses of the rat recorded. The rat then will receive a food pellet whenever they manipulate the lever. Some rats will receive a food pellet each time they peck the lever and others receive food pellets after manipulating the lever for a given number of times say ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Power Dynamic In King Lear In my initial essay I discussed the power dynamic within the family and kingdom, but I never pinpointed exact moments when the characters losing control became aware of this new dynamic. I think the performance did a brilliant job of creating statements with costuming when important moments in the power struggle changed. These bold choices in costuming also helped to explain instances where the characters had eye opening revelations about what was going on in their life that they were previously oblivious to. White costumes in this production created a stark contrast against the black costumes that most of the cast where dressed in, and provided insight into the thoughts of the characters when they would not always vocalize their inner monologues. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The next character who reaches this stage of understanding about the significance of their situation is Gloucester. He changes into his white costuming right before he is blinded. In his blindness he is able to gain sight about what is actually happening in his life. He finally puts together that Edmund has betrayed him and the son he exiled, Edgar, was his only loyal kin. The white clothing acts as a flag to the audience to draw attention to the fact that something has changed within Gloucester. That something is awareness of his situation, and essentially an epiphany about his sons. Lear also provides a moment of epiphany with his white clothing, but his moment of clarity is so tainted by the cruel world he lives in, it becomes his dissent into madness. When Lear comes in contact with Mad Tom, he starts to realize two things. He realizes how terribly he has treated homeless people, such as Mad Tom, and now that he is without his land and power and knights, he is now at the same level of poverty as Mad Tom. All that Lear has known, all of his power, has come to nothing and all he has to relay on now is his own flesh, making him no more than a mere beast. This realization of his reality becomes clear to him as he talks to Mad Tom, and so he strips off his clothing to reveal his white clothing, and his understanding of the ... The skyline of Boston s financial district sat behind George Washington s statue in the Boston Public Garden. This park is the oldest botanical garden in the USA, and it looked it, but not tarnished. Behind the park, the skyscrapers didn t reflect the light like yesterday because the sun hid behind the numerous gloomy clouds. The buildings seemed taller and newer than the few hardly cloud touching buildings in downtown Spokane. On my left was historic Beacon Hill, where my mom, sister, and I had devoured delicious Italian food the night before. As a child, my mom read my siblings and I this book countless times; it was one of our favorites. The little kids ran around them while their parents, a mix of locals and tourists sipped their coffee, took videos, and chatted. After we took pictures of the ducklings, we continued along the path, and it led us to a blue iron and stone bridge over a lake. This suspension bridge lay over the lake. Henry Ford Biography Essay Before 1907 when Henry Ford installed the first assembly line, the early 20th century provided automobiles for mostly the rich as a showing of keeping up with the Jonseses. The car models were mostly complicated machines which mostly required a chauffeur knowledgeable on how to operate the complex automobile. The invention helped reduce a four men work to a one men power. It first took around more than 12 hours to build one car to 2 hours and about 30 minutes. Henry Ford said that by the aid of scientific study one man is now able to do somewhat more than four did only a comparatively few years ago. Around 1901 it showed that he had been a supervisor and stockholder for the automobile companies. In 1902 Henry Ford started the Ford Motor Company with an $28,000 investment. He also smart planned his success. He didn t really trust the banks that kept his investors at an odd. His early plans were to offer the bankers who wanted to invest in his company that would offer dealer franchises. This required the franchise dealers to pay for the automobiles when they were received instead of when they were sold. This helped him have additional capital to expand his manufacturing enterprise, invest in research and provide for his dream. Henry Ford stated that I would build a car for the great multitude. It will be large enough for the family, but small enough for the individual to run and care for. It will be constructed of the best materials, by the best men to be hired, after the simplest designs that modern engineering can devise. But it will be low in price that no man making a good salary will be unable to own one and enjoy with his family the blessing of hours of pleasure in God s great open spaces. This soon clearly started his dreams he announced in 1907 that soon came true. Henry Ford built nine models before the Model T came forward, a significant ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
