1. Essay On The War Of 1812
Writing an essay on the War of 1812 can be both challenging and rewarding. The difficulty lies
in the need to delve into historical events, analyze various perspectives, and present a coherent
narrative that captures the complexities of the war. One must navigate through a plethora of
primary and secondary sources, deciphering different viewpoints, and synthesizing information
to construct a well-informed and compelling argument.
The War of 1812 is not as widely studied or discussed as some other major conflicts, making it
crucial for the essay writer to conduct thorough research to unearth lesser-known details and
connections. Additionally, crafting a thesis that goes beyond mere recounting of facts, but
instead offers a unique perspective or insight into the war, adds another layer of complexity to
the task.
Furthermore, the writing process demands a delicate balance between providing sufficient
historical context and maintaining the reader's engagement. Juggling the chronological flow of
events, causal relationships, and the impact on various stakeholders requires careful organization
and a keen awareness of the essay's overarching structure.
Incorporating primary sources, such as letters, diaries, and official documents from the era, adds
authenticity to the narrative but introduces the challenge of interpreting historical language and
context accurately. Synthesizing these sources with scholarly analyses and interpretations is
crucial for presenting a well-rounded and credible argument.
Despite these challenges, exploring the War of 1812 in an essay provides an opportunity for
intellectual growth and a deeper understanding of the historical forces at play during that time. It
offers a chance to engage with the complexities of war, diplomacy, and societal changes,
fostering critical thinking skills.
In conclusion, while writing an essay on the War of 1812 may pose difficulties due to the depth
of research and nuanced analysis required, the process offers a chance to explore a fascinating
period in history and develop essential skills. It's a journey that demands diligence, critical
thinking, and a commitment to presenting a comprehensive and compelling narrative.

2. Heat In The Stranger
In Camus The Stranger, the heat consistently symbolizes Meursault s emotions,
shown through imagery and personification. On several occasions throughout the
book, Meursault always mentions heat, therefore, heat can be identified as a motif.
The heat pushes him to his breaking point. During his mother s funeral procession,
Meursault mentions, the glare from the sky was unbearable (Source A). This
imagery portrays Meursault s psychological pain and depression, but he cannot bear
it. It is like the universe is preventing him from being able to feel and show his
emotions. The heat is also personified throughout the novel, making it his only
enemy. While walking on the hot beach with the sun blazing down on him, Meursault

The physical environment causes Meursault to act and it seems as if it makes
decisions for him. The physical environment is what pushes Meursault to kill the
Arab. Later, when Meursault was walking on the beach he notices the same
dazzling red glare (Source B). Death is foreshadowed in this quote because the red
represents the blood that will be shed moments later. This is the same heat and glare
that appeared on the day of his mother s funeral. Killing the Arab allowed Meursault
to let off some steak from his mother s death because he did not get closure.
Meursault s environment constantly bullied him by pressuring him into bad
situations. While walking on the beach, moving closer and closer to the Arab,
Meursault remarks, all that heat was pressing down on me (Source B). The
environment pressured him to keep walking towards the Arab and to ultimately shoot
him. Since the environment kept pushing him to move on, it was as if he was
walking at his own funeral into his casket. The heat is personified making it seem
like the environment is controlling him. Meursault s actions were impaired due to the
inescapable heat beating down on his judgements. Murdering the Arab allowed him
to relieve the tension caused by the heat. Meursault s constant worrying about the
heat, causes major changes in his

to the treatment of self defeating behaviour. I will do this by describing self
defeating behaviour, including its origins, causes and maintenance and then I will
proceed to describe two treatments that might be offered by a therapist working with
this and how it would impact on the behaviour presenting itself. Ever wondered why
people engage in seemingly self destructive behaviour? That is, why do people do
things that appear to be against their best interests? Why do they continue to engage in

Whilst at first glance symptoms look maladaptive, closer analysis reveals that the
individual benefits from them and, in some way, the individual is protected by
their symptoms. In effect, the symptoms represent a solution to a problem,
although a far from ideal solution. (Watson,1924) The maladaptive aspects of
unwanted behaviours can be simplistic to recognise. For example, the overweight
person can straight away identify the risks associated with obesity. Similarly, the
individual who selects dead beat partners is well aware of the unhappiness
associated with these choices. (Reber amp; Reber, 2001) In contrast, the adaptive
features of these behaviours are more obscure even to the individuals themselves.
Often they can not explain the real reasons for their behaviour because the reasons
are outside of their conscious awareness. In fact, if they were aware of what
motivated their behaviour, they could possibly change it, either through their own
efforts or by asking for help and getting support from therapists or friends and
family. Therefore the presence of a symptom signals that the individual has an
underlying conflict. The overweight person may be conflicted about taking the time
required for effective life style programs e.g. change of diet, change of life style
including exercise. That is, she may feel that she must subsidise her own needs for
the needs of everyone around her (children,

Cerebral...
I decided to write my literature after going through one of the textbooks in my
physiological psychology course and remembered about the cerebral hemispheres,
which receives sensory information from opposite sides of the body. This got
interested in the topic of cerebral hemispheres and sensory information after a split
brainoperation. The split brain procedure is a surgical operation that s used for
people that have severe epilepsy that can t be controlled by the drugs they take. In
the brains of people with severe epilepsy, the nerve cells on one side of the brain are
overactive and the overactivity is relayed to the other side by the corpus callosum, a
bundle of nerve cells that connect certain parts of one side of the brain to the other.
The corpus callosum enables the left and right side of the brain to share information
so that both sides knows what the other is doing and perceiving. Both sides of the
brain engage in out of control activity that stimulate each other, causing stereotypical
seizures that recur throughout the day preventing the person from living a normal
life. Neurosurgeons have discovered that severing the corpus callosum greatly
reduces the often recurring seizures.
After the brain split procedure, the brain is divided into two hemispheres that work
independently of each other. Their sensory mechanisms, and motor systems no longer
relay information. To the casual observer they disconnection isn t obvious for the
elementary reason that one hemisphere

proximity to shopping and dining over having a yard at all.
Open Spaces: Not just trending with Generation Y buyers, but the open floor concept
is becoming increasingly popular for all buyers these days. Rather than having
separated spaces, like formal dining and living rooms, may Generation Y buyers
desire open sightlines between their kitchen and living areas.
Walk In Closets: What young woman, or man, doesn t want an expansive closet

high priority for Generation Y home buyers, in addition to large master bathrooms.

7. Maya Angelou Stereotypes
Stories and tales have risks that some rarely think about. To most audiences, they
entertain people and bring smiles. What those audiences may not think about,
however, is that stories can be dangerous. A story becomes dangerous when nothing
can limit a storyteller s power to manipulate fact. The difference between legends,
myths, and folktales have become lost over the years. Legends originate from stories
passed down person to person and contain small fractions of truth, myths come from
beliefs shared in a culture rather than hard facts, and folktales originate from different
tales or legends that have evolved into different variations. Although each of these
have their own aspects, they all share in common the characteristic of lacking... Show

Stereotypes are generalized opinions or observations that are usually false, which
shows how the perspective of outsiders affects the story. Not only is this stereotype
false, but it causes Angelou to feel inordinate rage, which leads to controversy
between her and the original teller of this story. Angelou feels this rage because she
opposes the spreading of false information about her fellow Blacks to audiences
who would most likely only hear that one side to the story. At the end of this quote,
Angelou provides her audiences with imagery that shows the truth in the lives of
these supposedly gay song singing cotton pickers. If Angelou were to retell this
story, it would not highlight how the cotton pickers enjoy their jobs and lives, but
rather the pain and injuries that they are forced to endure as slaves. This shows
how different stories would be after hearing from two sides. It also displays the
dangers of a story when storytellers and audiences are unable to see the dilemma
that slaves in the South face. A metaphor that conveys the difficulty that some may
go through in order to repair informational damage caused by storytellers comes
from Angelou s I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings. She writes, The odors of
onions and oranges and kerosene had been mixing all night and wouldn t be
disturbed until the morning air forced its way in with the bodies of people who had
walked miles to reach the pickup place (Angelou 7).
8. Bp Deep Water Horizontal Explosion
INTRODUCTION BP originated from a British petroleum company founded in
1909. After experiencing crises during the 1980s 1990s, the company started to
have a cost cutting culture. During mid 1990s, with an aggressive growth strategy,
BP started to grow and reposition. After BP merged with Amoco in 1998, John
Browne started to serve as chief executive until May 2007. Browne repositioned BP
as a green oil company after he took over and practiced the model of organizational
decision making strategy, known as asset federation. Under this new strategy, onsite
asset managers had the authority to make decisions, and employees compensation
was directly tied to asset performance (Ingersoll et. al, 4). Many decisions made by

drilling engineers just added another warning sign to the explosion of Deepwater
Horizon. Secondly, BP s business relationships are complex, and the legitimate
priorities often conflict (Crews). BP s failure to prevent the explosion was due in
part to complex partnership. BP held the rights to drill using the rig and operation
services leased from Transocean. As a result, of the 126 people aboard the
Deepwater Horizon, 79 were from Transocean, seven were from BP, and the rest
were from other firms (Ingersoll et. al, 1). People serving on Deepwater Horizon
came from different organizations. A decision making process involved many
authorities, which decreased the efficiency and effectiveness of decision making.
Even though BP maintained main operational authority, only six percent of people
aboard the Deepwater Horizon rig were from BP. As an important business partner of
BP, Transocean provided the equipment and performed the majority of the work, and
thereafter it had some authority over operations and maintenance. The complex
business partnership caused serious
9. How Does Virgil Present Dido s Relationship In The Aeneid
We are shown many relationships throughout the epic of he Aeneid, by Virgil. Parent
child relationships and relationships of love are prominent throughout the book. With
the relationship of Aeneas and Anchises, his father, we see a positive relationship,
also another positive relationship we see is the one of Aeneasand his mother, Venus.
Didoand Aeneas portray both a positive and negative relationship. All three of these
characters were affected in some way, whether it be on a positive note or a negative
note; such as death.

The Romans viewed their relationships with their fathers as utmost important. As a
son, it was your duty to respect your father, and by doing so, you were honouring
your ancestors. Honouring your household gods was very important to the Trojans,
as it was almost considered bad luck to disrespect them. Anchises who was Aeneas s
father and a symbol of Aeneas s Trojan heritage, was extremely important in his life.
Although Anchises dies during the journey from Troy to Italy, he continues in spirit
to help his son fulfil fate s command, especially by guiding Aeneas through the
underworld. When, in the underworld, Aeneas s father, Anchises, presents a tableau
of the events that will lead to Rome s pinnacle, Aeneas comes to understand his
historical role with greater clarity and immediacy. This shows us that the relationship
between Aeneas and his father Anchises was positive; as his father guided him along
the right path and helped him to uncover his fate. Through the relationship of Aeneas
and his father, Anchises, we also are shown a glimpse of Aeneas relationship with his
son, Ascanius. The action centres around Aeneas s determination to fulfil his destiny
if not for himself, then for his son,
10. The Correlation between Stress, Overweight, and Exercise
The Correlation between Stress, Overweight and Exercise
Stress, exercise and obesity what do they have in common and what roll do they
play in the human body? Stress can cause obesity and exercise can elevate stress and
obesity. They Mayo Clinic says that stress can put a body at risk for many health
problems, including anxiety, depression, digestive problems, heart disease, sleep
problems, weight gain, memory and concentration impairment (Staff, 2013). In the
same article the Mayo Clinic says that one way to react to stressors in life is to get
regular exercise. When a person is under stress, typically a fight or flight situation, the
hypothalamus sets off an alarm in the brain, causing the adrenal gland to release the
hormones, adrenaline and cortisol. Adrenaline, increases the heart rate, raises blood
pressure and boosts energy, it is a fast acting hormone that starts to wear off once the
situation has resolved. Cortisol, the primary stress hormone, curbs the non fight or
flight body systems, increases glucose to the brain and alters immune, digestive and
growth systems. If a person is under constant stress from work, home, school,
relationships, finances, etc. cortisol is constantly being released into the body
causing the immune, digestive and reproductive systems to slow down. Cortisol also
slows the growth process and increases the glucose in the body. When the immune
system is slowed the body has a harder time fighting off germs and

The life and experiences of Poe are all incorporated into his poetry and stories. His
life was filled with tragedy. Poe s parents died when he was young, his foster
mother, siblings and wife all died as well. On top of this throughout his life he
accumulated debt and was constantly criticized by those around him. Dreamland is a
journey alone in the worldof dreams searching for something greater in life within
what seems like a nightmare. Poe wrote this poem to show that people are
constantly searching for a certain aspect to make their lives better. Poe shows the
importance of this search by his use of imagery/symbols, sounds/words and
figurative devices. The objects seen by the speakerand what they represent help

intensity and mass of everything shows how the speaker is alone and small in the
new place. This hyperbole or exaggeration was used by Poe to further prove the
way the stranger in the new world feels overwhelmed and lost by the sights. Lone

Poe uses a lot of strong words to create the mood of alone and darkness in the poem.
Figurative devices are used in this poem to further develop the tone/mood, the
environment/setting and the senses the speaker is feeling in the poem. Poe gives
the water an emotion. The sad waters is a personification of the water being sad.
This helps further explain the way the speaker is grieving or suffering.
Personification is also used when Poe describes the spirits and beings in the poem to
be human. This is shown in the lines Where an Eidolon, named NIGHT, on a black

12. An Extremely Brief History of India
The Indus was one of the world s oldest civilisations dating back to 3000BC.
Originating in the south of India, they built complex and mathematically planned
cities. They introduced commerce and agriculture to the region, trading as far as
Mesopotamia. India s history is intricately tied to its geographical location as a
gateway between the East and West. Indias first invaders arrived around 1500 BC. An
invaders paradise, the Aryans invaded from the north in 1500BC, dispersing south
over the next seven hundred years. The Aryans brought strong cultural traditions
including the Caste system and the foundation for many Indian based religions.
Arab traders had been trading since the mid 700s in the region. The Portuguese
were the first Europeans to arrive by 1500. The Portuguese established colonies in
the Region known as Goa. By 1610 they had been chased out by the British. The
East India Company established a factory and Britain s first colony in 1620 in Surat.
For the next three centuries Britain would spread out over the subcontinent until it
had complete rule. The East India Company would take complete control of all
European trade in India. Victory at the Battle of Plassey (1757) transformed the East
Indian Company from a trader to a ruler. A century later the company would be
dissolved with the British Crown accepting administrative responsibility for the
region. The Raj system created by the East India Company and subsequently used by
the British Crown to govern was

The Evolution of the Meaning of Life
The complex idea of the meaning of life came to be first through the Hindu
teachings. The four main purposes of life are Dharma meaning to act virtuously and
righteously. Artha means the prosperity and successfulness in one s life. Kama
being the concept of whatever action a person makes, they will receive the same
back. Moksha is the proceeding of a spirit into another being according to their past
life.
Following the Hindus, then came the Dao teachings of life, using the five
elements earth, wind, fire, water, and air for fulfilling one s personal goal in
accomplishing a successful life. Through the use of the elements, Daoists have
found certain rules of nature that are shown in our human existence. Because of
the elements, our lives are constantly affected by outside forces and by nature
itself. Therefore knowledge of the principles of nature will help a person move
from being troubled by outside forces to being led by the natural inside forces that
are centered in peace beyond outside forces. By following Tao, or the way, one must
mentally teach oneself the capabilities of being successful in life on Earth. Tao is
not a god but more of a way or self encouragement type of movement.
The meaning of life in Confucianism is to follow the ways of Confucius to achieve
your personal goal. Confucius believed that Tien Ming was that all living things are
under the ultimate control
14. Sources of Inequity in Highly Tracked Courses
Many students expressed the desire for study groups and more office hours.
Currently, the teacher is holding office hours whenever possible, and although
that is limited by the teachers availability, the formation of a study group is not. A
school sponsored study group can be extremely beneficial for students who may
otherwise feel awkward asking a classmate they just met if they would like to
study together. One student stated, Most of what BHS would probably try to offer,
most kids seek out on their own. It would be nice to set up a peer study group at a
set location on days when teacher is not available if only for the students who don
t have friends they feel they can rely on. That way no one feels excluded when it
comes to studying, and those who typically cannot rely on teacher or friends have
somewhere to go. From my own experience, all of my advanced courses in high
schoolwere filled with at least a few of my friends (perks of going to a smaller
school), so finding help was not a huge issue. However, in college, study groups
became my life outside the classroom. Last semester, I spent eight hours a week in
study groups, and without them, I would have probably had to take a few courses
again. Study groups give direction and structure to studying that one may otherwise
not have on his or her own. One high achieving student mentioned that her primary
resource is about 4 5 close friends with whom she formed a study group. Even a
study workshop can guide students in
15. Film Analysis Of Slumdog Millionaire
Rising from the slum to become a millionaire is a one in a million chance. Yet
Jamal, the main character of Slumdog Millionaire, has raised his life from living in
the slums to living the life a millionaire. With their mother dying, Jamal and his
brother started off in the slums basically living off trash and garbage. From
experience, Jamal was able to recall certain events and situations to help him answer
certain question on the Who wants to be a millionaire show. For example, Jamal was
able to answer the question, What does God Rama hold in his right hand? by simply
remembering the time after his mother was killed and him and his brother, Salim,
were being chased. (Thesis) Not only did the plot of the movie made the movie
interesting and amazing to watch, but the acting, aging through camera transitions,
and overall goal of Jamal to find Latika throughout conflicts made Slumdog
Millionaire an amazing movie.
The acting of Slumdog Millionaire seemed to be integrated into the environment
and the setting of the slums. With the use of real children from the slums, the
movie seems to be very real as the children seem to already fit the descriptions of
being part of the slums. Living in India, I was able to understand the conditions and
the lives of the people that lived around the slums. These people are recognized by
the majority of the public as being savages and uncivilized. The child actors that
played Jamal and Salim in the movie fit the description of being savages and
uncivilized. For example, Jamal jumped into the pile of poop from the outdoor
bathroom to get to Amitabh Bachchan to get his autograph. And as for Salim, Salim
fit the description of being uncivilized due to the fact he had no regards for other
people s lives. A perfect example is when Salim was in charge of all the other
children in the child slave ring, Salim at one point took away a baby from another
girl to give it to Latika. In this scene, Latika didn t want to hold the baby, but had to
hold the baby because Salim threaten to drop it. Overall, the acting of Slumdog
Millionaire was amazing because of many reasons. Reasons including the fact that the
actors that played Jamal, Salim, and Latika were real children from the slums of India,

Being an African American in the United States has always been seen as a negative.
From the moment my ancestors were brought to the United States, they were forced

Today, the stereotypes of African Americans are put upon me. I am often judged

20. North American Migratory Bird Species
North American migratory bird species that forage on air borne insects, known as
aerial insectivores are experiencing widespread regional declines in population, but
the cause remains poorly understood (Paquette et al., 2014). Climate change as well
pesticides which both cause changes in the abundance of insectprey can be a possible
cause (). Agricultural and farming intensification in addition to other land use
developments on the birds over wintering habitat may also be a contributing factor to
aerial insectivore decline (Fraser et al., 2012). For example,), have shown that
numerous environmental pressures have rapidly decreased the populationof many
insect species. This has led to a steep decline in aerial foraging birdpopulations....

To begin with, in order to understand mechanisms that influence avian population
changes biologists often seek to explore similar characteristics such as biological
and ecological similarities that occur across entire guilds . A guild in this sense, is
a grouping of species sharing a common life history or an ecological trait such as a
shared niche. There are numerous guilds that could be classified according to
factors such as comparable habitat and food varieties, reproduction and clutch
size, as well as migration and nesting strategies used by the species in question. The
guild of aerial insectivores consist of birds that feed exclusively on flying insects.
These insects include flies, mayflies, moths, butterflies, grasshoppers, crickets,
beetles and other insects Aerial insectivores in other words, are classified as a
dietary guild because of their similarities in allocating food resources. The guild of
aerial insectivores consist of flycatchers, nighthawks, martins, swifts, swallows, and
whip poor wills As this research essay is constrained in its nature it is thus
impractical to spotlight the entire guild of aerial insectivores. In this research essay
rather, I will be focusing on one particular species of aerial insectivore: Chrodeiles
minor, otherwise known as common nighthawk, a species that consists of nine
subspecies that inhabit Canada (as well as the United Sates) during the breeding
season from May to
21. Basic
The Basic Parts The Basic Parts There are just five basic parts in a radio frequency
communication system. These are: * Antenna * Amplifier * Filter * Mixer *
Source These five parts are then put together to do one of two basic functions:
transmit or receive. The name of the resulting device is a radio. The radio also may
go by many other names based on marketing considerations or its specific role in
the wireless network. A radio is used to send and receive a signal that flows through
the air as a series of electromagnetic waves. Radios can take on many different
forms. As such, it is not always easy to identify them. When transmitting or
receiving, the goal is to produce a perfect sine wave, of the exact... Show more

Antenna Radiation Pattern When selecting an antenna, both the width of the area
to be covered and the distance of each link must be considered. These
considerations will then determine the type of antenna to use, based on each
antenna s signal pattern. Every antenna has a pattern to the signal. This pattern
applies both to sending and receiving. By convention, the radiation line used to
draw this pattern is placed wherever the power radiating out drops to one half of
the power at the antenna surface. For example, for a dipole antenna:| | As opposed
to a directional antenna:| | | Note in the diagram above that the radiation pattern
does not have an even outline; there is a large main lobe, which is desired, and one
or more side lobes, which are undesirable. These side lobes are also called the minor
lobes. Antennas also have a front to back ratio that is measured in dBs. The forward
gain is the maximum gain at the end of the main lobe of the antenna. The rear gain is
measured either at 180 degrees from the main lobe, or from 90 degrees to 270
degrees from the main lobe. Using the wider sector is the better way to measure this
distance. These back lobes are also undesirable. A front to back ratio of 10 15 dB is
fair, 15 20 dB is good, 20 30 dB is very good, and above 30 dB is excellent. The
regions in between the main and minor lobes are areas of weak signals called nulls.
All antennas have gain, but this may or may not be real

directional port. You can adjust the port to move the water in a different direction.
Just remove the bottom piece and reposition the nozzle. The electrical cord is roughly

Concentration Camps
Concentration Camps were a big part of the Holocaust. My first topic is the
concentration camp Dachau. Then I will talk about another concentration camp
called Bergen Belsen. After that, I will tell you about the concentration camp
Treblinka. Finally, the last concentration I will talk about is Auschwitz Birkenau.
Describing these camps will inform you that concentration camps were a huge part of
the Holocaust.
Dachau was a devastating concentration camp of the Holocaust. Dachau was built in
1933. At first, it was a extermination camp for Jewish people and political prisoners.
Then it became a full time concentration camp for prisoners. In 1943, the Nazis ...

They had some mass graves to put the bodies in, but most were just lying around.
The most famous person from this camp was Anne Frank. Her diary lead today s
generation to fully understand this period of time. When the camp was liberated on
April 15, 1945, the British found 10,000 unburied bodies, and 40,000 sick, starving,
or wounded. Thus proves this camp was one of the most horrifying camps of the
Holocaust.
Another camp called Treblinka was a pure killing center. This death camp opened
in 1942, making it one of the last death camps to open. The whole purpose of this
place was to kill Jews. They did this with 13 carbon monoxide chambers. The
people were sent to the camp by trains, unloaded, and sent into changing rooms.
They were forced to give up their clothes and put new ones on. They were sent to
either so called quot;showers quot;, or a mass grave where they were shot. The
carbon monoxide chambers were disguised as the quot;showers. quot; As soon as
the Jews were in, they locked the doors and started pouring gas into them. This was
the way they killed the prisoners. The Nazis killed about 50,000 people per month,
making it the most efficient concentration camps ever made. This made Treblinka a
pure killing center.
The most notorious concentration camp ever was Auschwitz Birkenau. Auschwitz
was opened in April of 1940. It became the first Annihilation death camp. It was also
the largest death camp.

Make sure to pack this when you go out hunting. All you will need is a 7 or 8 foot
square tarp, but make sure that is made with nylon or clear plastic Visqueen, which
can be found at the hardware stores. If you find yourself in the winter weather and
without a tarp, seek shelter in nature. For example, you can cut down some pine
boughs to strengthen some shelter for yourself. Matter of fact if you can find a
branched spruce tree, this is best. The last option is to find a gutted carcass of a
moose or elk and crawl inside, this helped one hunter to survive the harsh winter
while hunting.
3. Fire
After you have found some sort of shelter, the next thing to do is to construct a fire
to help you survive a cold winter night. The main reason for the fire is warmth, it
allows your wet clothes to dry and to also assist in signaling for search and rescue
teams. Fire also helps to unravel the nerves of being in the woods while you hunt,
your confidence also will be built up a bit as well.
So how are you going to light this fire?
Matches are a good choice for starting a fire with dry tinder, but that s mainly for
moderate weather, not the best choice for harsh winter hunting. There were hunters
who died while in the Absarokas had matches. The searchers who located their
bodies also found areas where they tried to start fires but
25. Human Resource Management And Human Resources
Management
Human Resources Management is one of the most important aspects of any
organization, whether it be non profit, not for profit, or profit. Human Resources
Management is what makes it possible for a manager to be able to focus on their
work and tasks at hand and not have to deal with lots of unneeded interpersonal
activities. They are in charge of correctly evaluating the candidates that the managers
will have to work with for the duration of the candidate s stay. They are responsible
for making sure that the correct candidates will be hired, and also they are in charge
of maintaining that the organization has enough diversity so that valuable input is
gained from people of other backgrounds taking time to evaluate everything that the
organization does. HRM also helps the managers of the organization develop the
strategies that are required for the successful integration of the candidates that were
chosen into the position. An example of this would be informing the managers how
to work together with someone who is transgender/from a minority/has difficulty
speaking the language that is used in the workplace/or has a disability that would
need accommodations. The HRM comes up with the plan for the mangers to work
together with different people so that the manager doesn t need to spend time away
from their duties figuring out how to integrate people from various backgrounds into
the work environment and can spend time focusing on managing on what they
manage. HRM takes
26. Leading Group Challenges
Leading Group Challenges * Police, courts and corrections are part of criminal
justice organizations. Each of these organizations face challenges every day and the
leaders of these agencies must deal with these challenges (Duelin, 2010). The types
of criminal justice leaders range from police chiefs and sheriffs to prison
superintendents, and heads of government, state, or local task forces. Some of the
challenges they confront are budget and staffing shortfalls, political perspectives on
the roles of law enforcement personnel in society, and the changing nature of crime
and the difficulties associated with keeping up with these trends (Bryant, 2010). *

Leadership for these criminal justice agencies must balance this power with fairness
(Duelin, 2010). * Communication issues are also a challenge for criminal justice
agencies. There are two communication barriers one is individual and the other is
organizational. Individual communication issues are that a person s own
interpretation of a message may not be what is meant. An organization s culture can
be a barrier in communicating with another organization. The court system, police
and corrections have different jargon that is used within their culture. This sometimes
makes communication difficult between the organizations as well as with the public.
To handle these challenges a leader must be an affective communicator (Duelin,
2010). * Many of the challenges faced within the prison system are the same as those
that are faced within other criminal justice organizations but there are some that are
different challenges. Some of the same are workforce challenges. Recruitment, hiring,
retention, training, and succession planning are a few of those workforce challenges.
Budgets have an impact on these challenges. Technology is also a challenge. Keeping
up with the latest technology can be very challenging. There is always a need for
management information systems, fingerprint systems, enhanced security systems,
and communication systems. Challenges that are met by managers of a prison
system that are not met by other criminal justice systems are

28. The Constitution Of The United States Of America Essay
To best understand any system of government, it is important to examine its origins.
In the American system, the Constitution is held up as the ultimate document on how
government functions in America. However, the writers of the Constitution had very
different ideas about how government was to function ideally. These ideas formed
two distinct camps of ideology: federalismand republicanism. The federalists were
primarily concerned with how the collective was to function. In their eyes, every
citizen had a responsibility to the state, the institution that expresses the will of the
collective in a democracy. Standing counter to this ideology lay republicanism.
Republicanism contained within it the spirit of American individualism. The
individual was far more important than the state for a republican. For them, the role
of the state was to protect individual rights, which it must not infringe upon. Both
these competing philosophies express themselves in the U.S. Constitution,
particularly in its original form. How does federalism relate to republicanism in the
context of the original Constitution of the United Statesof America? In order to
answer this question we must first examine the original U.S. Constitution for
evidence of federalist ideology. By analyzing the original document, we can see how
federalism focused on the collective, and its responsibilities. Then we must do the
same with republicanism, analyzing the document for traces of its ideology. By

Throughout history, numerous events have changed drastically the world. World
War I, also known as the Great War, conflict, chiefly in Europe, among most of the
great Western powers, was the largest and deadliest war the world had yet seen.
Many of the consequences of World War I still have on impact in our days. It ended
empires in Russia, Germany, and Austria Hungary and caused Russia to turn to
communism and become a totalitarian state with Stalin in power. The development of
new weapons caused millions of deaths and wounded people, therefore kiling off
almost a generation of Europeans.Thirty two nations were involved in the conflict,
and twenty eight of these constituted two sides, the Triple Alliance and the Triple
Entente.
The Treaty of Versailles officially marked the end of World War I

treaty were debated for five months by the defeating nations. Any of the defeated
nations were invited to debate the terms o the treaty. Finally, on June 28, 1919, the

Psychological Forces in The Horse Dealer s Daughter The Horse Dealer s
Daughter is a short story written by English author D.H. Lawrence. He was known
for exploring the psychological forces (such as instincts) behind our actions and
for his vivid descriptions of the feelings of his characters, and The Horse Dealer s
Daughter is no exception. In fact, the two main characters in this story Jack
Fergusson and Mabel Pervin are a clear representation of Freud s drive theory
forces, Eros and Thanatos. Furthermore, the author gives vivid descriptions in this
story which let us know the inner drives of both Jack and Mabel. To begin with, let s
talk about Freud s drive theory forces, Eros and Thanatos. Thanatos is also known as
the death drive. It is the drive of masochism, destruction, aggression, and death (Freud
1920). Freud claimed that Thanatos often makes people behave in ways that are
unnatural, unreasonable, and go against the human instincts. In The Horse Dealer s

battle between Jack s id, ego and superego: He was amazed, bewildered, and afraid.
He had never thought of loving her. He had never wanted to love her. When he

This research study from other credible authors have stated the purpose, or
reasons, of responsive design whether it be from a mobile or tablet devices.
Responsive design isn t about just getting the right information at a faster rate of
time, but to ensure the user experience is effective and concise. When people hear
the word mobile web, it is absolutely being well understood of what it means.
Mobile web refers to where people are accessing through the Internet on their
mobile devices and accessing information to whatever users are searching (Mckee,
2014). According to the article, Why You Should Optimize Your Website by
Suzanne McKee, tells readers like us that there are about 77% of people who have
mobile devices (Mckee, 2014). This leads to a very well define conclusion, if you
will, that mobile users are looking for information about a company s product
using their mobile devices regardless if it s smartphones or tablets. As more users
are getting into their mobile devices, responsive web design has its own future too
when it comes to user experience. Additionally, responsive design is becoming
more emerging into the world. Mobile users use their devices in three common
ways to search, to directly navigate to a destination website, send a link to
themselves via email so they can visit it later (Savitz, 2012). This is the reason why
responsive design is becoming more popular and is ascending into its trends.
Responsive web design is flexible and it takes full

36. Compare Feudalism And Manorialism
The Feudal system was developed to bring a sense of security and economic stability
to medieval Europe as the same goes to the manor system. Although by some
definitions they appear to be very alike, but there are a lot more differentiations than
most assume. Feudalism and manorialism would have characterize most of the
European Middle Age. Feudalisminvolves the relationship between landlords and
upper the classes. And as Manorialism is the relationship between serf and landlord.
When describing a (one) lord, it refers to manorialism. When describing an entire
middle age society, it refers to the term feudalism.

inhabited by serfs who worked the land for him, providing him with income to

developed in Europe during the eighth century. Vassals were protected by lords
who by in definition served for higher authorities. Practically, this system
developed out of the fear and terror. Feudalism provided a political structure

39. Obesity Is The Fast Food Industry
There is an issue in America, if not across all nations, which begs discussion. The
issue plaguing society is the fast food industry. It matters not if you are young, old,
rich or poor; the fast food industry is almost impossible to ignore in this era. One
may raise the question of what exactly is fast food. Merriam Webster defines defines
fast food as food designed for ready availability, use, or consumption and with little
consideration given to quality or significance (1). Diving deeper into this issue
beyond the significant lack of nutritional value, lies not only the consumption of fast
food but also the constant bombardment of advertising society as a whole is exposed
to. Think about it: how long can a person watch a popular television channel without
seeing a commercial for a popular fast food chain? How long can one listen to a
favored radio station without hearing about the latest and greatest hamburger? In
addition, a person cannot spend much time on the internet without seeing an
advertisement for fried chicken. The concept of the fast food industry and the
tremendous effects their advertising schemes can have on our subconscious will be
the main focus of this essay. In describing the history of the fast food industry,
POSitive Magazine recounts that the concept may have originated in Ancient Rome
with vendors focusing on the masses of people housed in crowded areas lacking
room for personal food preparation. This idea made its way to America and
40. How Did The Renaissance Impact Society
The Renaissance was a time period filled with cultural and scientific achievements.
After the unfortunate events of the Black Death and wars, the Renaissance, meaning
rebirth flourished roughly from 1300 to 1600. Greco Roman culture rose once more,
spreading new technology and ideas to all parts of Europe. People made advancement
in education, art, and architecture as well. However, having so many ideas and
discoveries being made, it causes conflict among political and religious powers.
Among these discoveries and ideas, those made by Nicolaus Copernicus, Galileo
Galilei, and Martin Luther were some of the most important. I will analysis how their
ideas and discoveries had a greatly impacted the authority of the Church and its
impact on society.
One of the most important discoveries that were found is the idea of heliocentric

There were seven planets, or wandering stars, that orbit around the earth, which
include the sun, moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, and Jupiter. The idea of having a
geocentric universe was also incorporated in Christianity and the Bible. There were
mixed responses to Copernicus s ideas where some accepted it whole, partially, or
not at all. One of the main reasons why not everyone accepted it entirely was
because of religious reasons. The heliocentric idea went against the Bible, where it
has incorporated the idea of a geocentric universe and having humanity at the center.
After 73 years, his book was put onto the list of work that Catholics were not
allowed to read. As the heliocentric idea spread further, more people start to question
what to believe. As stated before, people had mixed responses since most were told
by the church that earth and human were at the center of the universe. This has

41. Essay on Pro Salary Cap
Pro Salary CapAccording to Dan Oleary, Since baseball is the only major sport
without a salary cap, and with the way baseball s big spending teams throw around
money, having a different winner each year seems to defy logic (OLeary). A salary
cap is issued in every professional sport s franchise, excluding Major League Baseball
. With no salary cap, one club can dominate it s competition on money alone. The
New York Yankees
spend the most money on it s players each year (Goldman). It is
no coincidence that they have won the most World Series of any other club in

The Yankees have always been a powerful team regardless of the money .
According to Wikipedia, The New York Yankees signed Babe Ruth from the
Boston Red Sox after the 1919 season, appeared in their first World Series two
years later in 1921, and became frequent participants thereafter (Wikipedia World
Series). Between 1947 and 1964 the New York Yankees won the world series
fifteen times in just eighteen years (Wikipedia World Series). The dynasty was in
it s prime during that time. The Yankees have won the series a total of twenty
seven times, most recently just last year in 2009 (Wikipedia World Series). They
have also have forty world series appearances, the closest in comparison to baseball
s favorite team is the St. Louis Cardinals with seventeen appearances. When a team
has dominated the rest by over twice the appearances in the World Series,
something is wrong. The purpose of the salary cap would not only be to stimulate
competition in both the National and American leagues, but to give the spotlight to
other teams for a change. In the end, if a salary cap is not issued, these results will
continue and baseball will eventually fail. A lot of controversy regarding those
opposed to the idea of a salary cap in professional baseball is the luxury
42. Nitro vs nitrito linkage isomers Essay
Abstract
In this experiment, the nature of linkage isomers will be observed on the example of
nitritopentaamminecobalt(III) Chloride and nitropentaamminecobalt(III) Chloride.
Their relative stability will be compared on standard conditions and the infrared
spectroscopy of both the isomers will be obtained to analyze the characteristic
absorption bands for the nitro and nitrito group. Yield for
nitritopentamminecobalt(III) Chloride was obtained to be = 1.9221 g(73.24 %) and
yield for nitropentamminecobalt(III) Chloride = 0.76 g(76 %)
Introduction

44. Analysis Of The Magician s Nephew, By C. S. Lewis
Living and growing up in London during the twentieth century was a time full of
hardships and sacrifices. Likewise, it was also an era of religious persecution
towards various religious groups (Schoenl 245). After World War II, Christianity
flourished and was an influence on millions of people and writers, like Clive
Staples Lewis. C.S. Lewis was an Irish writer born in 1898, a time when Europe
was the epicenter of the world. Although having spent most of his life in England,
his Irish roots can be seen and felt in all his novels. His marvelous readings may
seem like adventurous, mythical works, but they hold a deeper message of morality
and religionthat intrigue the reader into desiring more. C.S. Lewis has a magnificent
way of connecting his novels to cultural events and myths. The first novel in the
series, The Magician s Nephew, tells the classical story of the biblical book of
Genesis in a form that young elementary readers understand how Godeffortlessly
creates the earth and how the fictional world of Narnia came into being. Lewis
utilizes a third person omniscient perspective, realism, and imagery with a twist of
the cultural aspects of twentieth century Europe in order to truly... Show more content

Likewise, Gale states in his article of animal experimentation after World War II, The
number of animals used in experiments increased dramatically after World War II,
especially in the studies of disease and treatments for disease. Animal experiments
were instrumental in the development of open heart surgery, organ transplant,
treating diabetes with insulin, and other medical advances. The reflection of this
cultural act can be seen in the experiments Uncle Andrew conducts on his Guiney
pigs. He sends them off into other worlds, watches others explode as his
experiments fail, and simply does not care for any animal rights just as many
Europeans did not care either (Lewis Ch.
45. The Crucible Danforth s Downfall Essay
Responsible? The Salem Tragedy of 1692 was a cumulative downfall, wherein no
singular person was responsible, but instead everybody was in his or her own way.
At this time in history the people of Massachusetts were like dominos, rigidly set
up in lines across the board, but all too close for comfort. So close to the tipping
point, that one small factor would send them all hurtling over the edge. Though the
Salem tragedy was a group effort, one such member played a higher role in the
destruction. Judge Danforth, the epitome of theocracy at the time believed you were
either for God, or you were not, and there was no road in between. This quickly
caused destruction as the system of society began to turnon itself. Those who did not
know their commandments were assumed to be cavorting with the devil, and Judge
Danforth, power hungry with lynchings, called all the shots. It is evident when he
says, And do you know that near to 400 are in jail from Marblehead to Lynn, and
upon my signature?... And 72 condemned to hang by that signature? (Danforth, Act
3), that all the weight of his signature has gone to his head, and he has begun to
regard himself higher than most. Perhaps if Danforth had been less greedy and more
open, he would have heard the truth in Proctor s words when he told about the girls
decept. However, instead of listening, he asserted his dominance and power, and
instead went on to convict more people. Another key component of the Salem Tragedy

46. Working Long Periods Of Time
Working many hours can take its toll on everyone. Anyone who has worked more
than forty hours or more than an eight hour shift for long periods of time can attest
to that. Not only can working hours affect relationships it can also affect the way
employees brains works and functions (Armour, 2007; Virtanen et al., 2009).
Working long periods of time can also increase employees alcohol consumption and
affect their day to day lives (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
(DHHS), 2004; Armour, 2007; Virtanen et al., 2007). According to a 2004 study
done by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), this is especially
true for those who work extended shifts, more than eight hours a day (DHHS, 2004).

It seems they do not want to try when they just do not have the time to spend on
their relationships. At times employees decide that their job is more important
than relationships. There are also those who feel that they would have better
relationships with their children if they did not work as many hours (Armour,
2007). Similarly, working many hours can have a negative impact on a parent
child relationship due to the parent not being present. Relationships are a large part
of peoples lives. When work gets in the way of that it can make it difficult to have
the support system that the majority people need in their lives. A study by Virtanen
et al. (2009) tested the effects of long work hours and cognitive function. They
tested cognitive function by using five tests; memory, reasoning, vocabulary,
phonemic fluency, and semantic fluency. Two of the five tests showed that there
is a decline in cognitive function over a five year period. The vocabulary test and
reasoning test both had a decline in scores after a five year period. The decline in
scores majority happened to those who worked over fifty five hours of work
(Virtanen et al., 2009). The decline in cognitive function showed that employees are
not working at their full potential and that over a period of time it can completely
decline in their thinking and brain function. There appears to be a correlation
between people who work many hours have also noticed that their alcohol intake at
times does increase
48. Personal Experiences And Personal Strengths
What are your strengths? My strengths include working in a fast paced
environment. I am also skilled in working with both large and small teams. I am
also skilled in solving challenging problems that are involved at work. I am skilled
in quick research as well. How do you cope with stress? I usually stick to little
activities when dealing with stress. One includes working out at the gym,
primarily in weight lifting. I have also started taking yoga. What are your
computer skills? 1 10 7. I say seven because there are programs that I am not
familiar with. I am proficient, however, in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and some
in Excel. How quickly do you adapt to change? Example? I adapt fairly quickly to
change. When I was working at S Mart Foods, we had to rearrange the shelves in
each aisle to bring in new product and it made it harder to find items. After hours I
spent time learning the location of basic items in each aisle. If you weren t going
to go into law, what would you be doing? Originally, I was going to learn how to be
an engineer in water technology. I liked learning how to be a paralegal because I
was skilled at doing research. What is most important to you? Money or your
career? And why? My career would be the most important. I say this because I am
not a materialistic person and do not like to let money take over my whole life. I
believe in putting my career first and the money will follow after it. What are your
hobbies? I like to lift weights

The first explicit mention of a magical element in this story is about Clara s
uncontrollable telekinesis. Before this moment, everything has been mostly
believable. At this moment, the reader is forced to step back and consider whether
the author is exaggerating a realistic character trait or adding a magical possibility
to the story. At this point in the novel, Clara is a child, and her supernatural powers
reflect that. They don t seem very well developed and she doesn t seem to have
control over them yet. [Pulling] Clara s braids...would be enough to wake her...from

They have even learned to work around the times when Clara cannot control her
gift, the children had organized a system in case of visitors (8). The powers of
young Clara are a common occurrence in the del Valle house and this, while
surprising to the reader at first, becomes accepted as they continue throughout the
book. Overall in the novel, the magical realism helps to emphasize parts of the
story or characters that might be lost in the shuffle otherwise. Without her
supernatural abilities, Clara s detached way of living would be less striking to the
reader. She is able, from the beginning to predict the earthquakes, deaths of family
members, and recognize people s intentions (76). She still doesn t seem to have
complete control over them, highlighting her general way of being, since she isn t
the most involved mother or wife. Clara as a character is extremely separate from
other parts of her life due to her involvement with the spirit world. Other characters
might see this as frustrating, particularly Esteban, since Clara s supernatural powers
take her farther away from him

В® This coaching and execution package will start by teaching the meaning of the
principles. The Nine Principlesв„ў of service and organizational excellence instills
what everyone within and associated with the medical center believe to be the best

change within an organization requires buy in from all staff starting at the top of the
executive chain. The second principle is to measure the important things. This
would be measurement of what the strategic goals have set in place and allows the
medical center to keep up with the progress on a monthly basis rather than quarterly.
The third principle is to build a culture around service. In order to increase patient or

process should be the norm and it should become hardwired into the organization s
process. This will require the medical center to put in place scripting for how to
communicate. The scripting of behaviors, establishment of teams, teaching service
recovery, and the development of performance standards will also enable to medical

Hard work, knowledge, and interpersonal skills are some of the most important
aspects that will directly impact the success of registered nurses (RNs) within the
medical healthcare field. They are professionals that require an amount of
comprehensive education and skills that are related to assessing, planning, and
intervening to promote patient care ( The Nursing Process, n.d.). In order to become
RNs, associate degrees in nursing (ADN) must be earned from a state approved
training program. The programs may take up to two years to complete through

For example, a nurse s assessment of a diabetes patient includes the patient s chief
complaints of hypoglycemia symptoms and laboratory results of low blood glucose
levels. However, the assessment also includes the ability to acknowledge and
understand the patient s response due to the current state, such as the slurring of
speech, clumsy movement as if intoxicated, or profuse sweating while in an air
conditioned facility. The RN s diagnosis would reflect what the patient s
hypoglycemic state has further caused. Such symptoms may include confusion,
drowsiness, and coma like state, or if left untreated, it can result in seizures, loss of
consciousness, and even death. Thus, they will be able to set measurable and
achievable short and long term goals for their patient ( The Nursing Process, n.d.).
Goals for this diabetic patient may include changing eating habits by eating a higher
carbohydrate diet and/or eating more frequently, possibly adjusting to lower
medication dosages, managing lifestyle changes to include a more appropriate
exercise regimen, and continuing to test blood glucose levels on a regular basis. RNs
must possess other necessary qualities and skills that include patience, flexibility,
high levels of honesty, emotional stability, compassion, good organizational skills,
and interpersonal skills (Davila, n.d.).
