I have I determined specimen A as a black Shale. I have found out that the shale is a
sedimentary rock. The rock is dark/black coloured from the picture, therefore
suggests that it has high organic matter. From research I have concluded that shale is

I have tested the rock against Mohs Hardness scale and as it can be scratched from a
fingernail it has a hardness of 2.5.
I have managed to calculate the density of the galena. I did this by weighing it to
find the mass which was 92.6g then I found out how much water the galena

Fur Industry s Effect on Society
The fur trading industry played a major role in the development of the United States
and Canada for more than 300 years. The fur trade began in the 1500 s as an
exchange between Indians and Europeans. The Indians traded furs for such goods
as tools and weapons. Beaver fur, which was used in Europe to make felt hats,
became the most valuable of these furs. The fur trade prospered until the mid 1800,
when fur bearing animals became scarce and silk hats became more popular than felt
hats made with beaver. Traders and trappers explored much of North America in
search of fur. They built trading posts in the wilderness, and settlements grew up
around many of these posts. Some of these settlements later became such major cities
as Detroit, New Orleans, and St. Louis in the United States; and Edmonton, Montreal,
Quebec, and Winnipeg in Canada.
Also as a result of the Fur trade, the beaver population depleted, Indian trappers
became debilitated, tribal cultures buckled under the pressure of new economic
motives, tools and values. Consequently, since production fell within an area, the
traders moved and settlers moved in developing farms and towns. The Indians in that
area were either killed or moved by the government.

discovering the beach we live in. However, it costs billions of dollars to explore
space. The United States government must raise the lowered funding of NASA,
allowing the program to perform larger missions at a faster rate. NASA is responsible
for putting a man on the Moon, landing rovers on the surface of Mars, and many
other astounding accomplishments. They perform all of these feats through funding
from the United States government. NASA shouldn t have to deal with budget cuts
because of the work they put in and the information they learn from space.
To begin with, funding for NASA has dramatically been reduced compared to the
1960s during the Space Race (Budget of NASA 1). In 1966, where the funding for
NASA peaked, the United States government gave NASA almost 6 billion dollars
which is about 37 billion dollars today (1). This was equal to about 4.4% of the
United States annual budget (1). The last official record of the NASA budget was
in 2012, a little over 18 billion dollars (1). This still sounds like a lot of money, which
it is, but the cut has reduced the budget by a third of what it used to be (1). NASA

work remotely. Although technology has evolved and created the ability to work
remotely, productivity can diminish if management is not in place to accommodate
and support the endeavor. If implemented properly, companies can benefit from

employee retention and broadening their candidate pool. However, working remotely

In all honesty, I don t know which emotion takes precedence. I have a certain soft
spot for Dystopian novels, and on that factor this book did not disappoint but there
were also some big issues I had with the plot. Usually, I wouldn t mind if there was
no explanation as to why the world has become such a wasteland but throughout The
First Twenty, there is no explanation of anything. It is simply actions, consequences
(more often poorly executed ones), and more description of the two main characters
than anything else. There is no background. We are thrust into this decaying world,
and not even those from the Before say anything about what happened. Was it a
nuclear war? Did the government collapse? There were too many open ends that

As described previously, Daddy combines specific details of Plath s life and her
father s, making comparisons as brutal as to the Holocaust in their own home, and
comparing him to the devil. In Daddy she wrote that he, Bit my pretty red heart in
