Performance Enhancing Drugs Affects on Athletes Essay
The topic for my stakeholder research paper is performance enhancing drugs. My research is the
affects of performance enhancing drugs on athletes and how it affects society. The stakeholders for
the research paper are the professional athlete, the college athlete, governing bodies and the fan.
The effects of drug use on the professional athlete can cost them their career and also their lives.
The college athlete wants to become the fastest or the biggest and nevertheless don t view
performance enhancing drugs as dangerous. Sports governing bodies in the United States have
taken action towards controlling the use of performance enhancing drugs. However there is the fan
that will still idolize the top athletes even though they use... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

I found the research on EBSCO host. He reflects on how performance enhancing drugs affected
him and a lot of people in his life. In addition to his use of performance enhancing drugs, he
blames his deadly disease of cancer on the drugs. Stakeholder #2 is the college athlete and my
research came from Sport Illustrated article The Nightmare of Steroids written by Tommy Chaikin
and Rick Telander. The research was found on EBSCO host. The article is about how performance
enhancing drugs told over a college athlete s life by driving him to violence and almost too
committing suicide. The governing body of college football The National Collegiate Athletic
Association is stakeholder #3. The article I used is N.C.A.A Stiffens Drug Penalties and
Expands Testing in Football written by William C. Rhoden from the New York Times. This
research was found on EBSCO host. The article deals with why drug penalties and expanding
testing had to be made in football. The year round testing is being tried in football first then will
process to other college sports. Football was chosen first for the year round drug testing because
of the prominent coverage of performance enhancing drugs being used in football. Finally
something needed to be done because of the threat to the athlete and fair play in sports from the
use of performance enhancing drugs. The fan is stakeholder #4 and I got research from two
articles one is Steroid Suspicions

Lender Liability and the Duty of Good Faith
Lender Liability and the Duty of Good Faith I.Introduction From time to time, lenders and their
attorneys announce that lender liability is no longer an issue with which the lending community
needs to be concerned. What usually prompts this proclamation of the death of lender liability is
a recent case in which a court has summarily rejected a borrower s claim that the lender violated
the duty of good faith and fair dealing. Many courts have rejected borrowers lawsuits which are
based on allegations of the violation of the lender s duty of good faith. Nevertheless, lender
liability should continue to be an area of concern to lenders. Although courts often dismiss cases
based on a borrower s claims of lender bad faith, in other... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Then a discussion of the objective and subjective test of good faith will take place before finally
concluding that the good faith obligation should not be imposed in debtor creditor situations to
override express terms of a contract. II.The U.C.C. A.The Good Faith Performance Obligation
and the U.C.C. The central provision of the U.C.C. s good faith requirement is found in В§ 1
203, which provides that every contract or duty within this Act imposes an obligation of good
faith in its performance or enforcement. With regard to debtor creditor relationships in particular,
this obligation of good faith performance imposes on a lender a duty to deal in good faith with its
borrower in all situations, not only in situations where, because of the circumstances of the loan,
the lender has assumed actual control over and a fiduciary responsibility for the borrower. One
troublesome but important aspect of the good faith performance obligation is its application to
contracts, which provide that one party to the contract may, in its sole discretion, take certain
actions pursuant to the contract. In such cases, the actions of the party who can exercise its
discretion may affect all parties to the contract, and dependent parties must rely on the good faith
of the party given the right to exercise its discretion. Often, the discretion exercised by the party in
control will adversely affect the dependent party. However, it does not necessarily follow that

HEY GUYS! GUYS! WE GOT TO TALK ABOUT 284! I just read it and I got a lot to talk about!
Because seriously, this is quite possibly one of the most hilarious and incompetent stories I ve
ever seen. Yes, Archie fans, I mean that. I knew this comic was going to be a mess after reading
the summary for this, but this is ridiculous and we got to talk about everything in this, because
train wrecks like this don t happen often. This issues fails in some of the most basic ways
possible that if I didn t know better, I would swear this is a parody. Now I usually do analysis
posts where I talk about overall problems, but this is something that needs to be experienced so
we are going to talk about this scene by scene to we can enjoy this massive 5 car pileup. But
before we can do that we need to talk about the first car to start this mess for a second, 283. Now
I do plan to talk about 283 in more detail as it shows a lot of the problems of this comic when it
comes to pacing and structure, but it s relevant to 284 as it is a massive setup for it. Not just that
it is prepping for the following for issues, it s also an issue that sets up the punchline. The entire
issue is dedicated to Sally, Sonic and Chip detailing what their plan is. A common clichГ©... Show

Now it completely misses the point of doing this that instead of it trying to show the weaknesses
of the characters or to show how they weren t up to the task, this has things bad things happen
because Flynn wanted bad things to happen. But that could at least be ok, it is was willing to
commit to the tragedy and kept the drama intact. This comic, on the other hand, keep doing the
dumbest things to undermine its own drama. Not only in scenes like Germal getting dragged off
like a looney tune character and then dogged piled on to hold him down or the over the top
tempting fate in the beginning, but in scenes like this where it is 3 frames over from being a

laboratories. Due to facilities focusing on solving violent crimes, lab sections such as DNA,

that were mass disasters by linking reference samples. Due to DNA being introduced to

Risks And Hazards Of Walmart
Introduction
The safety audit will be performed at a Walmart location in Orangeville, Ontario. It is the biggest
retail store worldwide with $482.1 billion in revenue and has 2.3 million associates. As I have
worked there for the summer holding an instock position in the back room unloading trucks, I have
gained knowledge and understanding on the safety issues and standards that exist within the
company.
Risks and Hazards Identified by Walmart
Walmart identifies many different risks and hazards that an employee may face during work and
believe that employees need to be aware of them. These hazards can be identified in various forms
such as: physical, ergonomic, chemical, psychological, and safety/security
Physical Hazards: can result when performing various activities around the workplace. They can
occur from the equipment that we use, such as the pumps trucks, electric pump trucks or from the
trash compactor. Employees need to be trained on how to properly use the different equipment to
ensure that they have sufficient knowledge on how to operate them safely. The training allows for
individuals to understand what to do when there is a malfunction with the equipment and how they
need to be properly reported and documented, as well as locked away so that others do not use the
broken equipment.
Other physical harms can be from slipping, which can be prevented from non slip safety shoes

Froyo Earth Job Analysis
I am applying for a position of employment at Froyo Earth. I grew up here in Chelan and was sad

The Storming Stage Of Tuckman s Stages Of Group Development
Hynes Posted Date: September 24, 2017 7:12 PMStatus:Published
First and foremost, thank you for your service. Additionally, your discussion board post was very
educational. I would like to further examine the storming stage of Tuckman s Stages of Group
Development. Our textbook states the following about the storming phase of Tuckman s Stages of
Group Development, Individuals test the leader s policies and assumptions as they determine how
they fit into the power structure (Kinicki Fugate, 2016, p. 265). At this stage, it is imperative for
group leaders to maintain control of the group.
Group Leadership
During the storming phase is where the group members will experience conflict over process or
progress. It is the responsibility of group leaders to maintain a positive climate for the group to
flourish. When confrontation arises leadership should not shy away, and maintain a positive
environment, There is confrontation from the team leader and team members isolate themselves
from the activities of the team (Ryan, 2014, p. 52). Additionally, group leadership should be fair
and impartial as the team develops. Leaders, should weigh facts versus opinions. You may find
within a group dynamics that group leadership often sides with extraverts more than introverts.
Leaders should weigh argument over progress or process based on efficiency and not individual
linkings or relationships of group members. When there is and bias within group dynamics there is a

complainant stated he was fighting with one suspect when the other one ran over, stabbed him
multiple times and fled the scene.
Detectives viewed video footage which showed suspect #2 punched the complainant and a fight

The Life Of Jesus Christ And Paul The Apostle
The Life of Jesus Christ and Paul the Apostle The Survey of the New Testament course covered a
vast amount of material. A person with no knowledge of the Bible could absorb a wealth of sacred
information. Jesus Christ and Paul the Apostle covered a great amount of material in the New
Testament. Throughout this paper, I discuss the life of JesusChrist and the life of Paul the Apostle
and their extraordinary missions they accomplished that led to faith in Christianity.
The Life of Jesus Christ Jesus Christ had a remarkable life with a mission to spread the good word
of God. A few of Jesus apostles wrote historical gospels of Jesus life; some of this information
includes His beginning, His teaching, His sacrifice, and His resurrection.
In the Beginning
The Bible contains scripture and prophecy of Jesus before and after His birth. In the beginning,
some of historical topics included His genealogy, His learning, His baptism, His test, and His
declaration as the Messiah. Jesus birth
Virgin Mary conceived the Son of God by the Holy Spirit while engaged to Joseph the son of
David. An angle came to Joseph and explained Mary s conception through the Holy Spirit; and
told him to take Mary as his wife, and he must name the baby boy Jesus. The prophecy of Jesus
virgin birth was in the New International Version, Isaiah 7:14, the virgin will conceive and give
birth to a son and in Luke 4:21 this prophesy fulfilled. Prophecy was foretold in Micah 5:2, of Jesus

St. Augustine Body
In his Confessions, St. Augustine describes his intellectual progression from loving the beauty of
worldly creations to aspiring to the true beauty of God. His account of his anagogical ascent
parallels a similar intellectual ascent by Socrates in Plato s Symposium. The two ascents are
comparable in that the protagonists both seek to glimpse and experience the ultimate beauty of the
universe, but differ because St. Augustine defines Godas the source of all beauty, whereas Plato
distinguishes between the gods and the ideal form of Beauty. Furthermore, St. Augustine proposes
that the books of the Platonists are ultimately deficient in providing spiritual fulfillment because
they do not acknowledge the importance of Jesus Christ, the incarnation... Show more content on

7.23). St. Augustine is only able to understand the true beauty of God for a brief second because he
is weighed down by his body. His main limitation of the body is his sexual desires, which also
represents the weakening of the will, derived from his mortality. St. Augustine is aware that he
must transcend beyond his sexual desires in order to sustain the true vision of God, but cannot do
so for an uninterrupted period of time. St. Augustine s anagogical ascent as described in his
Confessions, begins with him questioning his previous assumptions about the physical beauty of
bodies. He questions the truth in these beliefs, and describes that the unchangeable and authentic
eternity of truth transcends my mutable mind (Conf. 7.23). St. Augustine claims his judgements
about the beauty of bodies are transient and are subject to change as his ideas develop. He states
that he cannot possibly claim beauty to be one thing, because his idea of beauty and what is
beautiful itself changes. There is only one inalterable definition of true beauty, which is God, and
St. Augustine cannot label that beauty with his mind which is so prone to change and the
deterioration of mortality. This leads him to view not the beauty of

Philosophical Optimism In Voltaire s Candide
The novella, Candide, by Voltaire, was published in 1759 during the enlightenment period. Voltaire
wrote this book to satirize the concept of philosophical optimism, or the belief that everything is
always for the best. Throughout the book, the main character, Candide, and various other
characters with differing views on life, travel around the world overcoming many obstacles for the
sole purpose of Candidefinding the woman he loved, Cunegonde. Voltaires characterization of
several main figures in the book demonstrates a new concept: the idea that philosophical optimism
leads to a lack of compassion. In the novella, Candide, Voltaire introduces the idea that philosophical
optimism leads to a lack of compassion through the characterization... Show more content on

Pangloss possesses a certain amount of optimism that blinds him from all realistic thought.
Pangloss believes that everything is for the best; this ideal leads to other unrealistic concepts,
such as the idea that certain situations in this world were predetermined, and the only reason
anything exists is for another specific, pre planned thing to occur; whatever horrible thing
happens was meant to happen all along, and is, of course, for the best. For example, when
Pangloss and Candide travel to Lisbon, they are hit with a terrible storm. After one of the sailors
on the ship is thrown out and killed, Pangloss appears largely unfazed, Voltaire describes the
situation, He tried to throw himself after him into the sea; he was prevented by the philosopher
Pangloss, who proved to him that the Lisbon roads had been expressly created for the Anabaptist
to be drowned in them (14). This way of thinking presents itself as incompassion because
Pangloss was showing little regard for people facing great trouble, due to his belief that their
problems are essential to other predestined events to occur. Pangloss s absurd set of values appear
again when he and Candide do reach Lisbon. There happens to be an earthquake around the time of
their arrival and many people are killed. When Candide is

Traditional Gender Roles
Gender roles are the roles that men and women are expected to occupy based on their sex.
Traditionally, many believed that women are more nurturing than men. Therefore, the traditional
view of the feminine gender role prescribes that women should behave in ways that are nurturing.
One way that a woman might engage in the traditional feminine genderrole would be to nurture her
family by working full time within the home rather than employment. Men, on the other hand, are
presumed by traditional views of gender roles to be leaders. The traditional view of the masculine
gender role, therefore, suggests that men should be the heads of their households by providing
financial support for the family and making important family decisions. While these views remain
dominant throughout society, perspectives on traditional beliefs about gender roles have improved
throughout the twenty first century. Gender roles are sometimes created on the basis of stereotypes
about gender. Gender stereotypes are oversimplified understandings of males and females and the...

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Fitness Test
Task 1
Within this report I will recommend the stages I believe that should be carried out to allow the
fitness test happened safely, and the policies I believe should be put into place while a volunteer
carries out these tests. Prior to doing a lab based fitness test there are many stages you are
supposed to carry out to ensure all participants are safe and all risks are reduced or eliminated.
P1
The first test I urge you to carry out would be to do a risk assessment, this will include finding all
the hazards that would be a risk to participants. For example; One of the hazards while carrying
out the test you will be doing could be if a participant was to wear the wrong type of shoes while
doing the beep test this could lead to them injuring themselves by falling over. After collecting all
the hazards write down how these risks can be controlled and the extent of the risk. For the
example I gave for a hazard that could happen in the test being taken it could be controlled by all
participants wearing trainers with good grip, it also is a high risk due to the amount of times
the risk is possible to happen. If the risk is a high risk and cannot be reduced I recommend that
you do not carry out the test till the risk can be reduced for the safety of participants. The second
thing I recommend you should do before doing the test would to be for you to have a PAR Q test
for all participants to fill out before the test so that you as the testy are informed on everything you
need to

Abstract Behavioral Development Is A Crucial Part Of Human
Abstract Behavioral development is a crucial part of human development. It influences how people
interact with the atmosphere and others around them. Behavioral development is reliant on on
many environmental factors which include one s parents, siblings, peers, schooling and culture.
According to Jacqueline J. Goodnow, these parental factors are often dependent on the culture in
which the person was raised. The two parental factors that have a negative effect on a child s
behavioral and psychological development are the parents use of control and rejection. These
parenting styles can lead to a child internalizing and externalizing their problems. When a child
internalizes their problems, they become withdrawn, anxious and display... Show more content on

Another similarity these cultures share is the value in masking their feelings. For both cultures, the
masking of their feelings creates a non threatening, peaceful environment, but certain parenting
styles, found popular to these cultures, can lead to the internalization and externalization of
negative emotions for young children. Relations Between Parenting Styles and Temperament of a
Child Behavioral Coping Mechanisms Internalizing and externalizing behaviors have been related
to both parenting styles and child temperament (Zhou, et all, 2008). Externalizing behavior can be
displayed in forms of aggression, hyperactivity and rebellion. Internalizing behavior can be
displayed in the forms of anxiousness and depressive behavior (Liu, 2004). Both behavioral
problems manifest in the child s inward and outward behavior. There are negative life long
outcomes such as violence, depression, anxiety, etc. that are associated with children who practice
these behavioral coping mechanisms. Parenting Styles Psychologist Diana Braumrind theorized
that there are four patterns of parenting styles (Uninvolved, Permissive, Authoritarian and
Authoritative Parenting) based off of two concepts: control and warmth (Kopko, 2007). Unlike
Western cultures, who generally follow an Authoritative parenting style, most Japanese and Chinese
parents follow a more Authoritarian parenting

Oacy Rearden Research Paper
Oacy Rearden, the youngest surviving son of the late Jasper and Anne Robinson Rearden, along
with other descendants of Jasper and Anne, had a dream. This dream was that one day the
Rearden Family Tree would be traced back to its very beginnings in Africa as Alex Haley had done

Unfortunately, Oacy never lived to see this dream materialize but his youngest daughter, Sara Belle
Rearden Haynes, never forgot his dream. After much discussion with other family members, Sara
decided that she would try and organize a family reunion.
On August 25, 1980, members of the Rearden Family were summoned to the home of the late Oacy

The duration rule is a good approximation for small changes in bond yields. The duration

Convexity (Continued)
Convexity is the rate of change of the slope of the price yield curve, expressed as a fraction of the

Higher convexity refers to higher curvature in the price yield relationship. The convexity of

We can improve the duration approximation for bond price changes by taking into account for

Descriptive Essay About Rodeo

Ms.Marton
Language Arts 7 1
9 November 2017
The Rodeo Horses running, bulls bucking, and flame throwing are all things that you could see
at a rodeo. When I was in the fifth grade I went to a rodeo with my girl scout troup . We saved up
for almost a whole year. We sold cookies, earned money, and waited for the exciting weekend trip
to A.J Ranch.
A.j Ranch is a beautiful place it has horses, stables, a rodeo arena, campsite and much more. We
stayed in a little cabin, in the woods on their property. It was really small, there were four bunk
beds, and a loft. Our troop leader Tabitha Amelia s mom, and Emma s mom and Bella s moms
stayed up in the loft, there was three cots. Back on the main floor my troup (a total of 8 girls)
slept in bunks. Hailee and I shared a bunk. I slept on the bottom bunk , and Hailee on the top.
On the second night of our stay at A.j Ranch we went to the rodeo. A.j Ranch has a lot of
property, we had to ride a wagon from our cabin in the woods to the ranch where the rodeo was
being held.
On the other side of the ranch people were preparing for the rodeo, but first there was a big
BBQ. They roasted a gigantic pig over the fire. It looked delicious, and the scent smelled so good
that you wanted to eat it all. They had everything there, there was a long line of tables full of food,
just talking about this is making my mouth water.
Once we had food in our tummies, we headed over to take our seats. We sat at the top of the
bleachers you

The Decision Of Roe V. Wade
The decision of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court case that legalized abortion in the United
States, had a very evident and profound impact on the social and political climates of the United
States. Before the case, it had seemed that abortion was a settled issue in America: a majority of
people opposed the practice, and a majority of states had abortion bans. However, by the 1960 s,
political factions and campaigns were rising up and stirring the waters of reproductive rights.
Abortion had changed during the courses of the Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries, morphing
from a private practice of the people into a great political divide. Abortion was actually easily
accessible during the Nineteenth Century, but the rise of religious fundamentalism compelled
citizens to become involved in either the protection of the fetus or the defense of reproductive
rights. Roe v. Wade had been either labeled as the legal settling of the abortion issue or the igniter
of change in regards to abortion. The decision not only affected the minds of the people, but the
decision had also set a legal precedent that affected more than thirty Supreme Court cases that later
dealt with abortion (Planned Parenthood). As previously stated, abortion was quite accessible
during the Nineteenth Century simply because it was classified as a private matter between a
woman and her doctor. Although medical practices were drastically different during that period,
doctors performed very effective techniques to

Skellig Symbolism
In David Almond s magic realist novel Skellig, the story follows the protagonist Michael, a young
boy who is facing many difficulties and challenges in his young life, the author uses a number of
language devices to tell his story, including puns, metaphors and similes. However one of the most
powerful devices are symbols. The author strongly uses symbols to reinforce charactertraits and to
show the connections between characters throughout the novel. The author constantly refers to the
symbols of evolution, death, birds and wings.
Evolution in the novel Skellig has a strong connection to bones and skeletons these are constantly
referred to when describing arthritis and Skellig. Evolution is also constantly associated with
change and new beginnings. Bones play a significant role in the novel as they are a symbolism of

Black is often connected with death and despair, white is often connected to life, freedom and
innocence. As Doctor Death is looking over Michael for sickness, Michael describes doctor
death as, He was cold, dry, pale as death. Wings would never grow at his back this suggests that
wings are connected to freedom and life, Doctor Death has no sign of living or happiness he
wears black which is a symbolism of death and despair it is also a symbol of being trapped or
restricted. In contrast, in the final pages of the novel, Skellig leaves behind 3 white feathers. The
feathers are a symbolism of hope, life and new beginnings, these are also a symbolism of how
skellig has changed, earlier on he was often associated with the colour black however now he is
connected with the colour white, and he is no longer a symbolism of death, but now

IN WHAT WAY DOES CHILDHOOD HISTORY, SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND POVERTY
AFFECT INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE? Intimate Partner Violence has affects individuals
from all Backgrounds, Genders, and Socio economic statuses (Women Against Abuse, 2012).
Therefore, Intimate Partner violence may and can overlaps with poverty, homelessness, and job
instability that suggestively limits victim s abilities to escape abuse (Women Against Abuse,
2012). There is lack of housing which has widely spread poverty and high rates of community
violence (Women Against Abuse, 2012). This; of course, has resulted in impossible difficulties for
adults seeking long time and sustainable safe living situations. These individuals who have
experience Intimate Partner Violence are likely to experience under or unemployment due to the
cycle of power and control implicated in Intimate Partner Violence dynamics (Women Against
Abuse, 2012). Unemployment rates climbed to their highest levels since the early 1980s, the
average lengths of unemployment reached its highest level since the federal government began
tracking these data in 1948 (Andrews Goodman, 2009). Intimate Partner Violence agencies began
reporting increases in the number of calls they were receiving for help from battered women (e.g.

Total Quality Management
Introduction
The last decade of the twentieth century brought great development to the world and especially it
has introduced new techniques and ideas to improve the business world. Subsequently, in the decade
of 1990s the business world was revolutionized with the quality management technique in business.
It was the time when the businesses started to embrace the concept of quality and so they started to
use it as a competitive advantage (Abusa, 2013).
In the past business practices as most of the business was working on the base of supply and
demand and consumer behavior were also making their decision on the base of the availability of
the product. However with the development the consumer behavior also changed as the
technological development changed the rules and patterns of business

TREATING INFORMATION PRIVACY DEFICIENCIES IN CYBERSPACE
Introduction
Scholars are divided on the fundamental question of the Federal Trade Commission s (FTC)
adjudicative capacity under the FTC Act. The FTC uses a reasonableness standard and considers
each company s data security practices on a case by case basis. For more than a decade, the FTC
s enforcement of data security actions invoked under В§5 of the Federal Trade Commission Act
(FTC Act) resulted in consent decrees and settlements, subsequently scrutinized by practitioners as
carrying as much precedential value as judicial opinions.
In 2015, the Third Circuit Court Appeals decision in Wyndham reinforced the FTC s authority to
pursue enforcement actions against companies that do not have reasonable data security practices.
Notwithstanding a motion to dismiss arguing that, inter alia, (1) the FTC lacks authority to
regulate under В§5 of the FTC Act and (2) the FTC failed to provide fair notice and of what
constitutes reasonable data security standards and (3) В§5 does not govern the security of payment
card data; Wyndham marked the first time federal courts held that the FTC has authority under В§5
of the FTC Act to enforce data security practices.
Equipped with Wyndham, the FTC s guidelines in providing information about what acts
constitutes unfair or deceptive practices carry more precedential force than ever before. Essentially,
the Circuit Court of Appeals holding in Wyndham affirms the FTC s discretion to

Ethical Issues Of Marketing Ethics
Introduction
According to Thomas Donaldson and Patricia Werhane, Ethics can be defined as the study of
whatever is right and good for humans. Ethics are defined as rules of behavior, code of conduct,
ability to distinguish between the good and the bad. In general, ethical marketing is a process
through which an organization or a company sells its products and services by using the fair means
of ethical principles there by creating a strong customer relationship resulting in an increased value
of stakeholders. Therefore, marketing principles includes a fair and true level in marketing
communications, respecting the privacy of its customers, obeying and following the government
regulations in addition to the standards set by the marketers. The U.S.Constitution (Kennedy s
Consumer Bill of Rights 1962) provides protection for basic consumer rights as long as they meet
five basic conditions:
пѓ Right to Safety
пѓ Right to be Informed
пѓ Right to Selection
пѓ Right to Confidentiality
пѓ Right to Privacy
Marketing ethics has been receiving increased research attention, particularly from the past 10
years. Alen J. Dubinsky Barbara Loken. Ethical issues can be defined as a situation or problem in
which a company or an individual has to decide what the right thing as per ethics is or what is
wrong unethically. These issues can occur in any organization and are very common. The most
debated one these days are the ethical issues of marketing. We will be discussing some of the

Germany as a Victim
Germany as a Victim
On the 16th June the German government, lead by Count Brockdorff Rantzau, were presented
with the Treaty of Versailles. They were originally given 14, and then 21 days, to agree to it. The
treaty, which included some 440 Articles, was not as vindictive as Clemenceau had wanted nor as
moderate as Lloyd George would have wished. It certainly fell far short of the conciliatory features
of Wilson s fourteen point proposals. (Evans and Jenkins) However, in order to decipher whether
the end results were destructive to Germany or not, it is necessary to asses not only the main points
of the treaty (including military provisions, territory, financial provisions, war guilt and the ... Show

The most obvious term was the return of Alsace Lorraine to France. Schleswig was also returned
to Denmark after it had been annexed by Bismark. Also Eupen and Malmedy were to go to
Belgium. This act is thought to be justified by the fact that much of Belgiums industry was
destroyed during to war, whilst Germany remained relatively untouched. The Saar Basin was also
to be overseen by the League of Nations, the Saar coalfield by France, for fifteen years. This
amounted to 13% of German territory and 12% of the population half of which were ethnic
Germans. Lloyd George claimed that I cannot conceive any greater cause of future war than that
the German people should be surrounded by small states . . . each of them containing large masses
of Germans clamouring for reunion with their homeland It also took away much of their industry
including 48% iron ore, 16% coal, and15% agricultural production. J.M Keynes believes that these

Miriam, who is Paul s first love , is sweet and gentle and kind and it is for these reasons that Paul
is attracted to her at first. Mrs Morel tries to discourage Paul from developing his relationship with
Miriam because to her Miriam poses a huge threat to her relationship with Paul. This is apparent
when Mrs Morel tells Paul,
... she exults so in taking you from me she s not like ordinary girls.
Clearly Miriam is an ordinary girl and it is in fact Paul s mother and her relationship with him
which is not normal . Paul s relationship with Miriam is more mental than physical and it is this
that Mrs Morel cannot accept. She cannot come to terms withthe fact that someone else might
know, love and be as close to her son as she is. His mother is such a dominant force in his life that
eventually he ends his relationship with Miriam. His mother s domination has a suffocating effect
on Paul which prevents him from being able to develop both as a person and an artist. This is
reflected in the setting of this novel which is a dark and suffocating coal mining community. We
are made aware of this from the very beginning of the book where the opening line reads,

This means that from the moment the story begins it is clear that the main character, Paul Morel,
will face not only the ordinary problems and difficulties which are linked with growing up, but also

Essay on The Positive Relationship Between Science and...
The Positive Relationship Between Science and Religion Introduction: Throughout history we can
find many instances where religion was strongly opposed to scientific research. For example, the
Catholic Church s objection to Galileo s defense of Copernicus heliocentric model where he offered
his observations that he felt furthered the theory that the planets revolved around the Sun. At that
time, the belief that the Holy Scriptures were perhaps inaccurate was one thing, but attempting to
confirm it as Galileo tried to do was a completely different issue and resulted in Galileo being
forbidden by the Church to write or teach his findings. Another example is the opposition to Darwin
s theory of evolution by the majority of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When reading specific verses of the Qur an it appears that in fact these scientific studies in
astronomy would serve to confirm God s greatness and the validity of the Qur an. For example;
Qur an (10:101)2 states: Behold all that is In the heavens and on earth ; But neither Signs nor
Warners Profit those who believe not. Ibn al Haytham s research into astronomy was celebrated
as a way to follow the Qur an s directive concerning prayer and religious observance of Ramadan
(Gingerich 1986) which was dependent on the correct interpretation of the phases of the moon
to correctly determine when the holy month was to occur. The study of the skies allowed
Muslims to create a calendar that would reflect in more detail how observant Muslims should
practice the Qur an commands including the direction prayer should be toward, what time of
year should Muslims participate in the Haji, and where to position the entrance for a mosque.
The Christian and Hebrew calendars did not correlate the new moon with the beginning of the
month as the Muslims did and therefore did not allow adherence to the Qur an when it stated
They ask thee concerning the New Moons. Say: They are but signs to mark fixed periods of time
in (the affairs of) men, and for Pilgrimage. It is no virtue if ye enter your houses from the back: It
is virtue if ye fear Allah. Enter houses through the proper doors: And

Merchant Of Venice Theme Analysis
The Merchant of Venice
Question:
The Merchant of Venice was a play about a Jewish moneylender who plots to cut off a pound of
flesh from a Merchant whom he has a history with. Revenge was the central theme of Shakespeare s
play The Merchant of Venice . However, there are other themes throughout the text, namely
friendship and prejudice, that help to emphasise revenge as the central theme of the play.
Revenge is an integral part of the play and characters in the play. Revenge is what drives Shylock,
seeking to obtain revenge on Antonio. In a way, Jessica seeks revenge for the hell that her father
made at home. In Venice, during the time of Shakespeare, Jews were not seen as humans. They
were alienated for their beliefs and due to the belief that Jews were responsible for the death of
Christ. As a result of this alienation, Jews were forced to wear red hats whenever going out,
which made them ripe for the picking for abuse and discrimination. Such discrimination has
been laid down on Shylock, with Antonio spitting on him and calling him a cut throat dog . As
seen in Scene Act 1, Scene 3, Antonio, even after receiving a loan, I am as like to call thee so
again, To spit on thee again, to spurn thee too. This shows how unthankful Antonio is towards
Shylock, simply because he is a Jew. It is no wonder why Shylock seeks revenge on Antonio. When
asked by Salanio what good a pound of flesh will do, Shylock simply states To bait fish withal: if it
will feed nothing else, it

Symbolism in The Things They Carried Essay
A. Park
The Things They Carried
The symbols in Tim O Brien s The Things They Carried are essential to understanding the soldiers
and their lives during the Vietnam War. At the opening of the story, Lieutenant Jimmy Cross would
dig into his foxhole and read the letters while imagining romance with Martha; however, at the end
of the story after the death of Ted Lavender, he crouched at the bottom of his foxhole and burned
Martha s letters (402). The inner feelings of Cross would be mistakenly ignored without the help of
symbols throughout his travel through Vietnam. O Brien uses the emotional and physical weight
carried by the soldiers as a representation of their personalities and how they prefer to cope with the
war. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He had touched these items day by day, wondering who had been beside her while she had
retrieved the pebble from the beach, or who placed the shadow in the photo of her. His mind
would race day and night, making it difficult for him to provide adequate attention on the war.
Cross would yell at his men to spread out the column, to keep their eyes open, but then he would
slip away into daydreams, just pretending, walking barefoot along the Jersey shore; with Martha,
carrying nothing (396). Cross would hope for nothing more than to be carrying nothing. These
physical objects weighed him down terribly after the death of Ted Lavender. He had loved Martha
much more than his men, and due to his overpowering love he had lost one of them. The pebble
was not only a symbol of importance to Cross as he dealt with the trauma of war, but as the
physical weight he carried due to the death of his man. These physical symbols helped to identify
a shift in the story when Cross decides to open up and make a change to the way he is coping
with the war after Lavender s death. This wouldn t help Lavender, he knew that, but from this point
on he would comport himself as an officer (403).
Another symbol O Brien used in the story was the superstitious items carried by the soldiers which
helped them to cope with the trauma of the war. Dave Jensen carried a rabbit s foot for good luck

Elements Of Roman And Greek Architecture
Roman and Greek architecture are very prominent examples of early historic architectural
advancements. These cultures left imprints on society, founding future forms of art and architecture
through their inspirational elements are artists. These long lasting cultural elements have created
echoes as deep into the future as now, the 21st century. Looking at the Southern Methodist Church
in downtown Austin, we see a variety of Greek and Roman architectural elements. The Southern
Methodist Church has a variety of classical elements that attribute it to past temples and structures
created by the Roman and Greek cultures, appropriated to fit into the religion of the church by the
manipulation of certain parts, such as the frieze. To begin, the first and foremost part of the
discussion is the elements of Greek and Roman architecture that have been incorporated and
appropriated for the building of this church. The first and foremost noticeable feature would be the
columns, architrave, and pediment. The columns are classic ionic columns, starting from the ornate
base and leading up to the capital, all the elements of the classical ionic columns are present,
creating an almost life like appearance to the columns as they grow and support the architrave, a
characteristic that can be traced back to Egyptian columns in temples and funerary buildings.
Further, the shaft of the column follows the Greek style of creation. The divides are evidence that
each piece of the columns were

Introduction Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder ( ADHD ) is a common childhood
disorder that represents developmentally inappropriate levels of inattention, impulsivity and
overactivity. It occurs in 3% to 5% of the school age population as stated by (Craighead,
Craighead, Kazdin Mahoney, 1994). Another author (Barkley, 1981) stated that ADHD occurs in
at least one child in every classroom. As a result of these statistics, ADHD has become one of the
most commonly referred and heavily studied psychological disorders of childhood. Studies show

Some major causal variables that have been identified are categorised as neurological factors, toxic
reactions, genetic linkages and environmental factors. However, most of the available evidence
found, points to neurological factors, which are imbalances of neurotransmitters in the brain, and
genetic variables as the primary causes of ADHD. The environmental factors and toxic reactions
(such as lead exposure and food additives) are considered very minimal causes of ADHD. The
search for causes of ADHD continues. There are many variables which are biological or thought to
have an affect on biological functioning. Assessment of ADHD An evaluation of a child with
ADHD includes multiple assessment techniques. The main goals of the assessment are: 1. to gather
information about the developmental deviance of ADHD symptoms or other behavioural problems.
2. to rule out other psychiatric, learning or emotional problems that may be causing inattention,
impulsivity, and/or overactivity. 3. to determine the degree of consistency between the sources and
across situations with respect to reports of behaviours associated with ADHD. 4. to identify and
prioritise targets for intervention. Conducting interviews with parents, teachers and the child. To
determine the four factors just mentioned, the following methods are used: 1. Interviews to be
conducted with parents, teachers and the child 2. Rating Scales to compare the child s

Hormogonia Research Paper
Cyanobacteria are an ancient class of aquatic and photosynthetic bacteria. There are various types of
Cyanobacteria such as Nostoc punctiforme, a filamentous cyanobacteria. N. punctiforme has
different cell types such as vegetative cells, akinetes, heterocysts and hormogonia. Vegetative cells
are where photosynthesis occurs. In N. punctiforme, vegetative cells have a third developmental
alternative in which they differentiate into akinetes (dormant spore like cells). Akinetes are
evolutionary precursors of heterocysts (Meeks and Elhai 2002). Heterocysts supply a microaerobic
environment to produce essential proteins for nitrogen fixation. Hormogonia are short filaments
that come from parental filaments and are important for short distance spread of filamentous
cyanobacteria such as Nostoc punctiforme.

The first is the type IV pili theory and the second is the junctional pore theory. Type IV pili are
filaments on bacteria that are involved in motility and adhesion (Craig and Li, 2008). According to
some recent studies there is evidence that hormogonia have pilus like structures. In these studies
they inactivated the pilT like (pilus retraction gene) and pilD like (prepilin peptidase) components,
which changed the surface piliation levels and lowered the symbiotic competency (Duggan et al,
2007). Junctional pores are structures that form around filaments on both sides of each cross wall
or septum. These pores make channels that radiate out and it was found that they may be involved
in gliding movements. The pores are sites where mucilage is secreted and thus leads to the gliding
motility of Nostoc punctiforme (Hoiczyk and Baumeister, 1998). Neither of these theories have
enough evidence to outcompete the other, but some researchers believe that the actual motility
mechanism is a hybrid of

The proliferation of marketing and advertising, coupled with the onslaught of millions of media
channels in today s world, has given cause for consumers to tune out and effectively avoid a great
deal of traditional supplier driven messaging. The creation of technologies such as PVRs, satellite
radio and Internet ad blocking software are driving a fundamental shift in the way the public
consumes media and the advertising often tied to it. Television ads, radio spots, online ads and
even emails are facing increasing competition for effectively capturing the viewer s attention and

The Crucible Allegory Analysis
Rough Draft The Crucible is similar to the Red Scare, but is The Crucible an allegory for the
Red Scare? Here is why I think The Crucible is an allegory for the Red Scare. The Crucible by
Arthur Miller is an allegory for the Red Scare on the McCarthy era because in The Crucible
multiple people were incorrectly blamed for being witches just like in the Red Scare where
people were incorrectly blamed for being communists, in both The Crucible and the Red Scare
approximately everyone believed the outrageous accusations to avoid being killed, The Crucible
is an allegory is an allegory for a Red Scare because is exposed another example of a time period
in which fake accusations led to forced confessions. In The Crucible multiple people were
incorrectly blamed for being witches just like in the Red Scare where people were incorrectly
blamed for being communists. In both The Crucible and the Red Scare people were being
falsely blamed for things that were not true. In The Crucible people were being incorrectly
accused of being witches and communicating to the devil. You most certainly do, and you will
free her from it now! When do you compact with the devil? This quote from The Crucible is
basically saying that Hale was accusing Tituba of being a witch and speaking to the devil. In both
The Crucible and the Red Scare there were people being accused of something that they were not.

Compare And Contrast World War Two Experiments
Prisoners of War have been tortured in many ways. Like, how the Japanese used to experiment
on Chinese and Koreans. During World War II, prisoners of war have been tortured, and
experimented on. Back then, people even have a place to design and test out experiments, they
call it Unit 731 . During World War II, Prisoners of War were tortured by many different ways,
just like how the boys in Lord of the Flies were tortured by their own captivity while on the
island. Prisoners of war (POW) were experimented in many different ways. One way they have
been experimented was when the Japanese tested out biological weapons on multiple prisoners
of war. Most of the individual used for the experiments were Chinese and Korean. (histclo,1).
This shows that prisoners of war were being experimented on and how they were being
experimented during World Ward II. This connects to Lord of the Flies because the boys were
tortured and experimented on by the beast . On page 207, the beast says, I m warning you. I m
going to get angry.... So don t try it on, my poor misguided boy, or else (Golding,207). This shows
that the beast was experimenting on Simon, and threatening him to do stuff or else he would get
hurt. This also shows that the beast has power over Simon, since Simon obviously doesn t want to

Romantic Love Essay
Romantic Love Inflicts Harm
Love is an interesting concept. Wikipedia describes love as a variety of different emotional and
mental states, typically strongly experienced (Dictionary.com). Romeo and Juliet, written by
Shakespeare, portrays the illogical choices that may be made when in love. Another source
explains how love is addicting in the poem The Raven written by Edgar Allen Poe. The Gift of
the Magi depicts people who mistake love for lust. The force of romantic love inflicts harm on
many because it persuades lovers to make irrational decisions, it is negatively addictive, and many
cannot differentiate love versus lust.
Irrational decisions are made daily; however, specific and dramatic examples are shown in the play

In the poem The Raven , addiction is a prominent theme. It is shown in lines 82 and 83 when the
widower is asking for Respite respite and nepenthe from thy memories of Lenore; / Quaff oh
quaff this nepenthe and forget this lost Lenore... (Poe). If one is asking for a fictional medicine
that would dissolve their depression, then they are enamored with something harmful.
Specifically in this poem, the widow is drunk on memories of Lenore and wishes to be free;
however, he is devoted to his lost love and therefore will never become independent. Another
example of co dependence is portrayed later in the poem. Poe writes, By heaven that bends
above us by that God we both adore / Tell this soul with sorrow laden if, within the distant
Aidenn, / It shall clasp a sainted maiden whom the angels name Lenore ... (92 94). The man is so
obsessed with his partner, that he asks if he will see her in Aidenn, which is heaven. . When
someone is in love with another, then spending time together is normal; however, when the
romantic relationship is over, the people have to get over their loss. This man is addicted to
Lenore because he is unable to move on from her and the memories made together. On the topic of
differences, lust and love are opposites. And although it may seem simple to differentiate the two,

matters of skewed appearances and reality. Though both texts have themes of hidden truths, both
have different outcomes when characters of their respective texts have their veil lifted: Goodman
Brown is forever changed by his new perspective whereas Delano remains unperturbed by what he
learns. In addition to this theme of appearance versus reality, both texts explore the consequences
of this unveiling and, in connection, explore ideas of good versus eviland innocence turned into
corruption.
In Melville s Benito Cereno, Captain Delano s perspective of the happenings on the San Dominick
ship is skewed through the deceptive actions of Babo and his captive Don Benito. Delano s belief
that every human being is inherently innocent and honest causes him to misread the situation and
leaves him unaware of the impending danger that he and Don Benito are in. Filled ...with a
qualmish sort of emotion, rather than investigating or confronting Don Benito when faced with
compromising, unsettling facts, Delano chooses to continue his stay on the ship ...as one feeling
incipient sea sickness, he [strives], by ignoring the symptoms... (Melville 64). It is this quality of
Delano s, choosing to ignore what is a blatant issue and opting to believe that everyone is a decent
person at heart, which ultimately causes this veil to cloud the reality of the situation to him.
Though his suspicions that

Communism In Albania Research Paper
According to the Dictionary.com, communism is defined as a system of social organization in
which all economic and social activity is controlled by a totalitarian state dominated by a single and
self perpetuating political party. Communism was the form of the government in Albania until
1992. As Albania transitioned from communism to democracy, communism has caused the poverty,
which is one of the biggest struggle Albania has ever faced. Although the governmentchanged its
form to democracy, the influences of Communism still remain causing the nation to suffer from its
unstable economy and poverty.
Ever since Communism ended after the election in 1992, Albania has been struggling to recover
its economic status. Unlike the past years, where all the jobs were provided for citizens by the
government, now people have to look for their own jobs. Teaching people to be independent from
the government and to find out what they are going to do for the rest of their life was a struggle
which still continues today. As reported in the Trading Economics, the... Show more content on

It is also the country many people do not pay attention to. However, Albanians were the ones
who were determined to change the government to the right form where more voices can be
heard, even if their way to do it risked their life. Even though at this point, transitioning the form
of government can be seen as a bad idea, it was the choice for citizens to gain more rights. Today
in Albania, people became more free to express their own feelings and opinions. According to
Freedom House, Albania gained three (one being best, seven being the worst) in civil liberties in
this year. It is the result of great improvements compared to the year of 1998, when Albania scored
five in the same category. As they gained more freedom as a citizen, it seems like that the country
is also recovering from the debris of the communism with a significant

Student Loan Crisis Is A Crisis
Seventy percent of college graduates left school with almost thirty thousand dollars in student
loans. (Johnson, Student Loans ) There is currently a debate about whether or not student loans are
a crisis or if this crisis is just a myth. In the article, Here s Your Crisis:
Student Loan Debt Isn t A Myth, it describes how student loans are a huge crisis, and the article,
The Myth of the Student Loan Crisis is about how college students loans do not amount to a crisis.
The student loan crisis is a legitimate problem, not a myth. College students do not realize the risks
they take when they acquire student loans. Student loans can and do have negative effects on the
economy and there are also hardships the students will face in the future.
One reason that supports the issue of student loans being a crisis is the negative effects on the
economy. For example, students who are in debt cannot spend money on expensive items.
People who want nice cars, jacked up trucks, enormous boats, and other items will not be able to
afford these items. Also, student loans are responsible for the second highest form of consumer
debt. (Denhart, College Crisis Is Crippling ) Higher national debt means fewer jobs and increased
interest rates. Lastly, is the inability to start new businesses, which would benefit the economy, due
to income debt ratio. These three examples show the negative effects on the economy from student
loans.
In addition, students will take on these loans without

Pros And Cons Of Independence Movements
Independence movements have occurred across the globe as long as countries have existed.
Stronger and more developed countries frequently attempt to grow their empires through means of
colonization or imperialism which leave long lasting effects on nations and generations to come.
The two nations that I have chosen to compare and contrast with regards to independence
movements are Moroccoand Brazil. Each country experienced pros and cons during the time they
were under the control of different nations and each was able to establish independence after
growing pains and frustrations occurred.
Analysis
Although both countries, Morocco and Brazil, were products of European imperialism, they each
encountered very different experiences. Morocco was a French protectorate between the years of
1912 and 1955. When nearby countries experienced economic weakness and crises, they
succumbed to rule by the British, Turkish or French. Morocco was able to avoid exterior control
until rivalries between European nations started increasing until inevitably, France stepped in.
Morocco had previously been independent for over 1,000 years and had openly accepted
influences from Muslin Iberia as well as the Ottoman Empire. France had expressed interest in
Morocco as early as 1830 as the country was deemed advantageous geographically, and Portugal
was gaining protectorates and control of the Atlantic coast of Africa.
Morocco opposed French rule and frustrations stemmed from the start even though

Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare Essay
Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare
First impressions of Twelfth Night can be deceiving as on a simplistic level it can be portrayed as a
typical Shakespearean comedy.
However, Twelfth Night is a mixture of both romantic comedy and tragedy. The romantic comedy
elements can be found throughout the play as its structure is based on a typical Elizabethan style, it
has escapism with magical settings and happy endings, as is Midsummer s Night Dream . Also
Twelfth night has unusual names such as Sir Toby Belch and Sir Andrew Aguecheek, this type of
humour is also used in Midsummer s Night Dream in the form of Bottom.
This comedy s main theme being one of a love and all the trials and ... Show more content on

she thought was Cesario. Sebastian then appears when it seems hopeless and Viola and Sebastian
question each other while the other people are stunned.
There is a lot of use made of practical jokes with the sending of the love letter to Malvolio.
Malvolio thinks that it is from Olivia when in fact it is a joke being played on him by Sir
Andrew, Sir Toby and Maria. Malvolio falls for the trick and tries to figure out the contents of

An Analysis Of Lies In Arthur Miller s Death Of A Salesman
Living in Lies
Everyone can relate to the desire to embellish their own life. Whether it be from the hopes of a
better income or to a higher social status, most all people have felt they fell short in one way or
another and would love to pretend to have the success they ve hoped for. In Arthur Miller s a play,
The Death of a Salesman, Miller eloquently depicts the struggle of living up to one s expectations
through his ability to construct dynamic characters. Willy Lohman, the protagonist in Miller s
play, is struggling with dementia as he is aging. He is also grappling with the realization that
nothing in his life has been what he expected it to be. He lived his life as a salesman, married ...

Disadvantages Of Plastic Recycling
Another approach to plastic recycling is to actively collect plastic from a large region, and to
either recycle or resell the scrap. Vikoz Enterprises Inc. sends collection and transport vehicles to
plants and areas across the U.S. and Canada. Because of their active effort to collect plastic, Vikoz
is the largest plasticrecycler in the U.S. and Canada (12)
Biggest types of recycled plastic
There are 7 standard recycling codes for plastic, shown with a triangular chasing arrow symbol
with a number inside as pictured in figure 2, in the appendix. The first plastic is PET/PETE,
Polyethylene Terephthalate. PET is used in most water and soda bottles and also in some
packaging. PET is susceptible to leaching and bacterial growth, so it should not be reused, but it is
easily be recycled.
High Density Polyethylene, HDPE, is a stiff plastic that is often used to make products such as
milk jugs, oil bottles, toys, and plastic bags. HDPE is also very durable, and often used for
outdoor furniture and other products that require weather resistance and durability. HDPE is a
very safe plastic, and is easily recycled for secondary uses or reused.
PVC or Polyvinyl Chloride is a soft flexible plastic that is used for pipes, computer cable sheaths,
children and pet toys and packaging. PVC is also resistant to outdoor exposer and is used to make
numerous outdoor products. Only about 1% of PVC is recycled. PVC leaches numerous toxins
during its lifetime, and therefore should not be reused. Additionally, burning PVC releases many
hazardous chemicals including chlorine, which is deadly.
Low Density Polyethylene, LDPE, is commonly used to make packaging, bottles and grocery bags.
LDPE is generally safe to reuse, but it is not commonly recycled. Few places recycle LDPE, and
recycled LDPE is used for secondary uses, such as plastic lumber, landscaping boards, and floor
tiles.
Polypropylene, PP, is a lightweight plastic that is both tough and heat resistant. PP is used for
food packaging, disposable diapers, bottle caps, and packing tape. PP is safe to reuse, and is
recycled in some areas. Currently, only 3% of PP is recycled, but more programs are beginning to
accept PP products.
Polystyrene, PS, is a lightweight material

The Road To Independence By Joe Hagmann Analysis
From the perspective of a parent, whose primary concern is the wellbeing of their child, some of the
author s points seem valid. However, I find the author, Joe Hagmann, has his tin foil hat on, and the
thought that the entertainment industry is conducting an elaborate scheme to brainwash children,
is a tad further than ridiculous.
To eliminate independence from the equation doesn t seem like a sound idea in my opinion. Yes,
for the most part parents are an excellent force of guidance that can steer a child in the correct
direction, but limited exposure to the media and the un Godly world we live in won t be as useful
when they re old enough to leave the nest. I don t believe that a parent s word will be enough to
prepare oneself for reality. For instance, you can describe to someone how to make a movie with
an infinite amount of detail, but it s trumped by the much simpler option of showing them a movie
and learning by example. Would a 9 year old, like Hagmann s be too young for complete autonomy
and control in their life. Yes. I, however, believe that the road to independence should be gradual,
and that parents should have full authority, and then throw them into the deep end when they re still
highly dependent on them.
I view a bad TV show, like the one described by the author, as an excellent opportunity to draw a
line in the sand between right and wrong. Besides, plenty of TV shows exemplify good morals and
virtues, and often when the characters make an horrendous

Speech On Maya Angelou
Maya Angelou Imagine this: it s the early 1990 s, the day of Bill Clinton s inauguration speech.
A poet was invited to write and read the first inaugural poem. It went like this: Here, on the pulse
of this new day, / You may have the grace to look up and out / And into your sister s eyes, and
into / Your brother s face, your country /And say simply / Very simply / With hope Good morning.
This is Maya Angelous poem titled On the Pulse of Morning , just one of many of her works that
were influenced by her life. At this moment it was influenced by the loss of one of her greatest
friends, Martin Luther King Jr. Throughout her life, she faced many things, ranging from her early
life to her adult years with her travels and friendships. Maya... Show more content on

Well before I read this book, I actually did think about...
Well before I read this book, I actually did think about what the title could mean and why the
author wrote it so. Before I read this book I thought the book was about astronauts or something
ridiculous. During the book I had some ideas that The Fault In Our Stars meant a mistake or
something that predestined one s fate. I was kind of close. The title meant that the Fault is not
always in the others, but in ourselves. For instance, Hazel Grace has cancer and a chronic illness
not because she did something to cause it; It was just fate. I believe the title was just giving us a
hint of the main idea of the book. Category 1, #5 As he read, I fell in love the way you fall asleep:

Category 2, #3 If this book were to be found in the distant future, 3052 to be exact, I would think
that it was written for a more fantasy driven culture. If some random historians and sociologists
just randomly came by this book, first they d probably think what is a book, why was society so
messed up back then, and why were their books so amazing. One could conclude that their era
was one of literary prosperity. Most likely because of influences from previous eras of literature
and innovation increasing throughout time. Category 3, #1 I think that one of the characters that I
notices the most was Peter. He was the author of the book Imperial Affliction, which Hazel Grace
and Augustus Waters both read and found something in common. They both loved this story so
much that they went to Amsterdam where Peter lived and confronted him in order to find out the
untold ending. When they realize a few things about Peter (he is a total jerk, drunkard, and that he
didn t even write the end of his book) and his book, they just decide to forget him. But later on, at
the ending of the book when the tide turns and Augustus Waters washes away, Peter Van Houten
shows up and reveals his characters flaws happened because of his children s deaths. This made me
sit up and appreciate the making of this character, and the authors creativeness throughout the book.
I think the irony in this character is that many older people are like this but

The Indian Constitution
INTRODUCTION The undeniable fundamental rights were preserved in Part III of the Indian
Constitution. Directive Principles were enumerated in Part IV of the Constitution. The terms
fundamental rights have not been defined in the Constitution. Article 12 imposes duty on the state
to protect citizens for enjoying the Fundamental Rights. Each article has a distinct, important an
valuable fundamental right empowering the citizens. These rights primarily aimed at assuring
political freedom to the citizens by protecting them against excessive State action. They are given a
pride of place in the Constitution by the Drafting Committee. Despite being part of the same
constitution, a contrast is often made between part III and part IV i.e. between fundamental rights
and directive principles. The main reasons are the judicial enforceability of FR and its nature
being negative obligation of the state. The Fundamental Rights are enforceable. The directives are
non В¬justifiable and are more in the nature of positive affirmations of the state. However in recent
time, some of the directives have been made a part of chapter on Fundamental Rights to be in tune
with the requirements of changing polity. ARTICLE 31 C In 25th Amendment, 1971 Art 31 C was
added by the Constitution. The importance of the directive principles are enhanced by this
amendment. As stated in the object clause of the Bill, the object of the amendment was enacted to
get over the difficulties placed in the way of

Bedouins In The Arabian Peninsula
Between 200 to 800 CE, the Arabian Peninsula went through drastic changes over time in a time
period of 6 centuries. People from the Arabian Peninsula started to convert to Islam from Animist
Polytheist. The main focus of these 2 time periods were based heavily on religion and the status of
women increasing then suddenly deteriorating following Prophet Muhammads death in 632.
In 200 CE, The majority of the Arabian Peninsula was Animist Polytheist, people who believed in
nature spirits. The social structure of the Bedouins in the Arabian peninsula were tribal clans.
Their structure is based upon a kinship and the leader of family is part of a bigger social
structure consisting of councils and elders. Women also had a high status in comparison to the
other empires, as their advice was also considered valuable. Many of the Bedouins who lived in
Arabian Peninsula carved and worshipped idols whom they believed to be intermediary to the
almighty Gods. Arab polytheism, the dominant form in pre Islamic Arabia was based on
veneration of deities and other rituals. The Gods and Goddesses were worshipped in local shrines
such as the Ka Ba in Mecca. Many of the pre Islamic figures gods were traced to Idols, especially

Literary Analysis Of A Farewell To Arms
Haunting yet passionate, A Farewell to Arms allows readers to perceive the story from a soldier
s point of view. Hemingway depicts the harsh war with sensory but blunt details. His expression
of words has an emotional appeal on the reader, allowing his or her to put themselves in the shoes
of any character. For example, on page 73 Hemingway writes, There was sunlight coming through
the shutters. I saw the big armoire, the bare walls, and two chairs. My legs in dirty bandages, stuck
straight out of the bed. Hemingway fully describes what is seen and this permits his audience to
have a full picture in their mind.
Hemingway includes important quotes throughout the novel. On page 26, Miss Barkley starts,
You did say you loved me, didn t you? and Henry replies, Yes, I lied, I loveyou. I had not said it
before. Later, she brings up the rotten game they play as their affection isn t completely real.
The men at the mess begin to talk about protesting war on page 61, You are a foreigner. You are a
patriot. And the ones who would not make war? Can they stop it? I don t know. They speak of this
earlier in the book (page 43) as well but they can never fully understand how war starts or ends. On
page 99, Henry and Barkley speak of their love, I only wanted it for you. There isn t a me. I m you.
Don t make up a separate me. Another quote on page 200, Henry explains that he is over his
obligation of being a part of the army by saying, Anger was washed away in

Social media makes the community part of the actual crisis communication response. For
example...Twitter was used to quickly share initial information and updates during the 2007 and

reinforces the idea of how social media communication is highly beneficial and furthers an
individual s ability to remain informed on current events. C. Subpoint Social media platforms
can be a strong tool to encourage major changes in the world. 1.During the 2011 Egypt uprising
protesters gained support through social media sites like Facebook and Twitter to help end
poverty and unemployment in which they were experiencing at the time. This major flow of
support from across the world helped strengthen the protesters cause and led to an eventual
victory in Egypt (Brym 2014). 2.In Kenya, 200, after a controversial election violence broke out
where over 1,000 people were killed. During this crisis there was a broadcast ban, which
prevented news from being spread about the violence in Kenya. The Kenyan citizens turned to
social media sites like Facebook to express their opinions and share with others the violence in
Kenya. More and more citizens used social media to express their grievances in a safer way online
instead of on the streets where people were being killed (Makinen

  • 2. Performance Enhancing Drugs Affects on Athletes Essay The topic for my stakeholder research paper is performance enhancing drugs. My research is the affects of performance enhancing drugs on athletes and how it affects society. The stakeholders for the research paper are the professional athlete, the college athlete, governing bodies and the fan. The effects of drug use on the professional athlete can cost them their career and also their lives. The college athlete wants to become the fastest or the biggest and nevertheless don t view performance enhancing drugs as dangerous. Sports governing bodies in the United States have taken action towards controlling the use of performance enhancing drugs. However there is the fan that will still idolize the top athletes even though they use... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I found the research on EBSCO host. He reflects on how performance enhancing drugs affected him and a lot of people in his life. In addition to his use of performance enhancing drugs, he blames his deadly disease of cancer on the drugs. Stakeholder #2 is the college athlete and my research came from Sport Illustrated article The Nightmare of Steroids written by Tommy Chaikin and Rick Telander. The research was found on EBSCO host. The article is about how performance enhancing drugs told over a college athlete s life by driving him to violence and almost too committing suicide. The governing body of college football The National Collegiate Athletic Association is stakeholder #3. The article I used is N.C.A.A Stiffens Drug Penalties and Expands Testing in Football written by William C. Rhoden from the New York Times. This research was found on EBSCO host. The article deals with why drug penalties and expanding testing had to be made in football. The year round testing is being tried in football first then will process to other college sports. Football was chosen first for the year round drug testing because of the prominent coverage of performance enhancing drugs being used in football. Finally something needed to be done because of the threat to the athlete and fair play in sports from the use of performance enhancing drugs. The fan is stakeholder #4 and I got research from two articles one is Steroid Suspicions ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Lender Liability and the Duty of Good Faith Lender Liability and the Duty of Good Faith I.Introduction From time to time, lenders and their attorneys announce that lender liability is no longer an issue with which the lending community needs to be concerned. What usually prompts this proclamation of the death of lender liability is a recent case in which a court has summarily rejected a borrower s claim that the lender violated the duty of good faith and fair dealing. Many courts have rejected borrowers lawsuits which are based on allegations of the violation of the lender s duty of good faith. Nevertheless, lender liability should continue to be an area of concern to lenders. Although courts often dismiss cases based on a borrower s claims of lender bad faith, in other... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Then a discussion of the objective and subjective test of good faith will take place before finally concluding that the good faith obligation should not be imposed in debtor creditor situations to override express terms of a contract. II.The U.C.C. A.The Good Faith Performance Obligation and the U.C.C. The central provision of the U.C.C. s good faith requirement is found in В§ 1 203, which provides that every contract or duty within this Act imposes an obligation of good faith in its performance or enforcement. With regard to debtor creditor relationships in particular, this obligation of good faith performance imposes on a lender a duty to deal in good faith with its borrower in all situations, not only in situations where, because of the circumstances of the loan, the lender has assumed actual control over and a fiduciary responsibility for the borrower. One troublesome but important aspect of the good faith performance obligation is its application to contracts, which provide that one party to the contract may, in its sole discretion, take certain actions pursuant to the contract. In such cases, the actions of the party who can exercise its discretion may affect all parties to the contract, and dependent parties must rely on the good faith of the party given the right to exercise its discretion. Often, the discretion exercised by the party in control will adversely affect the dependent party. However, it does not necessarily follow that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. 283 HEY GUYS! GUYS! WE GOT TO TALK ABOUT 284! I just read it and I got a lot to talk about! Because seriously, this is quite possibly one of the most hilarious and incompetent stories I ve ever seen. Yes, Archie fans, I mean that. I knew this comic was going to be a mess after reading the summary for this, but this is ridiculous and we got to talk about everything in this, because train wrecks like this don t happen often. This issues fails in some of the most basic ways possible that if I didn t know better, I would swear this is a parody. Now I usually do analysis posts where I talk about overall problems, but this is something that needs to be experienced so we are going to talk about this scene by scene to we can enjoy this massive 5 car pileup. But before we can do that we need to talk about the first car to start this mess for a second, 283. Now I do plan to talk about 283 in more detail as it shows a lot of the problems of this comic when it comes to pacing and structure, but it s relevant to 284 as it is a massive setup for it. Not just that it is prepping for the following for issues, it s also an issue that sets up the punchline. The entire issue is dedicated to Sally, Sonic and Chip detailing what their plan is. A common clichГ©... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Now it completely misses the point of doing this that instead of it trying to show the weaknesses of the characters or to show how they weren t up to the task, this has things bad things happen because Flynn wanted bad things to happen. But that could at least be ok, it is was willing to commit to the tragedy and kept the drama intact. This comic, on the other hand, keep doing the dumbest things to undermine its own drama. Not only in scenes like Germal getting dragged off like a looney tune character and then dogged piled on to hold him down or the over the top tempting fate in the beginning, but in scenes like this where it is 3 frames over from being a ... Due to facilities focusing on solving violent crimes, lab sections such as DNA, digital forensics, and drug analysis will continue to increase. The forensics DNA Portocals can be expected to become more rapid and sensitive and provide stronger investigative potential (Butler 2015). Forensic DNAplays a vital role with the crimical justice community around the world, by conviction of the guilty and exoneration of the innocent. • 6. Risks And Hazards Of Walmart Introduction The safety audit will be performed at a Walmart location in Orangeville, Ontario. It is the biggest retail store worldwide with $482.1 billion in revenue and has 2.3 million associates. As I have worked there for the summer holding an instock position in the back room unloading trucks, I have gained knowledge and understanding on the safety issues and standards that exist within the company. Risks and Hazards Identified by Walmart Walmart identifies many different risks and hazards that an employee may face during work and believe that employees need to be aware of them. These hazards can be identified in various forms such as: physical, ergonomic, chemical, psychological, and safety/security Physical Hazards: can result when performing various activities around the workplace. They can occur from the equipment that we use, such as the pumps trucks, electric pump trucks or from the trash compactor. Employees need to be trained on how to properly use the different equipment to ensure that they have sufficient knowledge on how to operate them safely. The training allows for individuals to understand what to do when there is a malfunction with the equipment and how they need to be properly reported and documented, as well as locked away so that others do not use the broken equipment. Other physical harms can be from slipping, which can be prevented from non slip safety shoes that Walmart can sell to you for 50% off. Falling from various heights can also be a ... When I went in, the employers were always so nice and made my stay there fun. The employers have never made me feel uncomfortable. If I got hired at Froyo, I would do my best to give people a comfortable environment and let them have a fun, positive experience, like I have witnessed. • 8. The Storming Stage Of Tuckman s Stages Of Group Development Hynes Posted Date: September 24, 2017 7:12 PMStatus:Published First and foremost, thank you for your service. Additionally, your discussion board post was very educational. I would like to further examine the storming stage of Tuckman s Stages of Group Development. Our textbook states the following about the storming phase of Tuckman s Stages of Group Development, Individuals test the leader s policies and assumptions as they determine how they fit into the power structure (Kinicki Fugate, 2016, p. 265). At this stage, it is imperative for group leaders to maintain control of the group. Group Leadership During the storming phase is where the group members will experience conflict over process or progress. It is the responsibility of group leaders to maintain a positive climate for the group to flourish. When confrontation arises leadership should not shy away, and maintain a positive environment, There is confrontation from the team leader and team members isolate themselves from the activities of the team (Ryan, 2014, p. 52). Additionally, group leadership should be fair and impartial as the team develops. Leaders, should weigh facts versus opinions. You may find within a group dynamics that group leadership often sides with extraverts more than introverts. Leaders should weigh argument over progress or process based on efficiency and not individual linkings or relationships of group members. When there is and bias within group dynamics there is a ... Throughout this paper, I discuss the life of JesusChrist and the life of Paul the Apostle and their extraordinary missions they accomplished that led to faith in Christianity. The Life of Jesus Christ Jesus Christ had a remarkable life with a mission to spread the good word of God. A few of Jesus apostles wrote historical gospels of Jesus life; some of this information includes His beginning, His teaching, His sacrifice, and His resurrection. In the Beginning The Bible contains scripture and prophecy of Jesus before and after His birth. In the beginning, some of historical topics included His genealogy, His learning, His baptism, His test, and His declaration as the Messiah. Jesus birth Virgin Mary conceived the Son of God by the Holy Spirit while engaged to Joseph the son of David. An angle came to Joseph and explained Mary s conception through the Holy Spirit; and told him to take Mary as his wife, and he must name the baby boy Jesus. The prophecy of Jesus virgin birth was in the New International Version, Isaiah 7:14, the virgin will conceive and give birth to a son and in Luke 4:21 this prophesy fulfilled. His account of his anagogical ascent parallels a similar intellectual ascent by Socrates in Plato s Symposium. The two ascents are comparable in that the protagonists both seek to glimpse and experience the ultimate beauty of the universe, but differ because St. Augustine defines Godas the source of all beauty, whereas Plato distinguishes between the gods and the ideal form of Beauty. Furthermore, St. Augustine proposes that the books of the Platonists are ultimately deficient in providing spiritual fulfillment because they do not acknowledge the importance of Jesus Christ, the incarnation... His main limitation of the body is his sexual desires, which also represents the weakening of the will, derived from his mortality. St. Augustine is aware that he must transcend beyond his sexual desires in order to sustain the true vision of God, but cannot do so for an uninterrupted period of time. St. Augustine s anagogical ascent as described in his Confessions, begins with him questioning his previous assumptions about the physical beauty of bodies. He questions the truth in these beliefs, and describes that the unchangeable and authentic eternity of truth transcends my mutable mind (Conf. 7.23). St. Augustine claims his judgements about the beauty of bodies are transient and are subject to change as his ideas develop. He states that he cannot possibly claim beauty to be one thing, because his idea of beauty and what is beautiful itself changes. There is only one inalterable definition of true beauty, which is God, and St. Augustine cannot label that beauty with his mind which is so prone to change and the deterioration of mortality. This leads him to view not the beauty of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Throughout the book, the main character, Candide, and various other characters with differing views on life, travel around the world overcoming many obstacles for the sole purpose of Candidefinding the woman he loved, Cunegonde. Pangloss possesses a certain amount of optimism that blinds him from all realistic thought. Pangloss believes that everything is for the best; this ideal leads to other unrealistic concepts, such as the idea that certain situations in this world were predetermined, and the only reason anything exists is for another specific, pre planned thing to occur; whatever horrible thing happens was meant to happen all along, and is, of course, for the best. For example, when Pangloss and Candide travel to Lisbon, they are hit with a terrible storm. After one of the sailors on the ship is thrown out and killed, Pangloss appears largely unfazed, Voltaire describes the situation, He tried to throw himself after him into the sea; he was prevented by the philosopher Pangloss, who proved to him that the Lisbon roads had been expressly created for the Anabaptist to be drowned in them (14). This way of thinking presents itself as incompassion because Pangloss was showing little regard for people facing great trouble, due to his belief that their problems are essential to other predestined events to occur. Pangloss s absurd set of values appear again when he and Candide do reach Lisbon. There happens to be an earthquake around the time of their arrival and many people are killed. When Candide is ... Therefore, the traditional view of the feminine gender role prescribes that women should behave in ways that are nurturing. One way that a woman might engage in the traditional feminine genderrole would be to nurture her family by working full time within the home rather than employment. Men, on the other hand, are presumed by traditional views of gender roles to be leaders. The traditional view of the masculine gender role, therefore, suggests that men should be the heads of their households by providing financial support for the family and making important family decisions. While these views remain dominant throughout society, perspectives on traditional beliefs about gender roles have improved throughout the twenty first century. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Fitness Test Task 1 Within this report I will recommend the stages I believe that should be carried out to allow the fitness test happened safely, and the policies I believe should be put into place while a volunteer carries out these tests. Prior to doing a lab based fitness test there are many stages you are supposed to carry out to ensure all participants are safe and all risks are reduced or eliminated. P1 The first test I urge you to carry out would be to do a risk assessment, this will include finding all the hazards that would be a risk to participants. For example; One of the hazards while carrying out the test you will be doing could be if a participant was to wear the wrong type of shoes while doing the beep test this could lead to them injuring themselves by falling over. After collecting all the hazards write down how these risks can be controlled and the extent of the risk. For the example I gave for a hazard that could happen in the test being taken it could be controlled by all participants wearing trainers with good grip, it also is a high risk due to the amount of times the risk is possible to happen. If the risk is a high risk and cannot be reduced I recommend that you do not carry out the test till the risk can be reduced for the safety of participants. The second thing I recommend you should do before doing the test would to be for you to have a PAR Q test for all participants to fill out before the test so that you as the testy are informed on everything you need to ... It influences how people interact with the atmosphere and others around them. Behavioral development is reliant on on many environmental factors which include one s parents, siblings, peers, schooling and culture. According to Jacqueline J. Goodnow, these parental factors are often dependent on the culture in which the person was raised. The two parental factors that have a negative effect on a child s behavioral and psychological development are the parents use of control and rejection. Relations Between Parenting Styles and Temperament of a Child Behavioral Coping Mechanisms Internalizing and externalizing behaviors have been related to both parenting styles and child temperament (Zhou, et all, 2008). Externalizing behavior can be displayed in forms of aggression, hyperactivity and rebellion. Internalizing behavior can be displayed in the forms of anxiousness and depressive behavior (Liu, 2004). Both behavioral problems manifest in the child s inward and outward behavior. There are negative life long outcomes such as violence, depression, anxiety, etc. that are associated with children who practice these behavioral coping mechanisms. Parenting Styles Psychologist Diana Braumrind theorized that there are four patterns of parenting styles (Uninvolved, Permissive, Authoritarian and Authoritative Parenting) based off of two concepts: control and warmth (Kopko, 2007). Wade, the Supreme Court case that legalized abortion in the United States, had a very evident and profound impact on the social and political climates of the United States. Before the case, it had seemed that abortion was a settled issue in America: a majority of people opposed the practice, and a majority of states had abortion bans. However, by the 1960 s, political factions and campaigns were rising up and stirring the waters of reproductive rights. Abortion had changed during the courses of the Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries, morphing from a private practice of the people into a great political divide. Abortion was actually easily accessible during the Nineteenth Century, but the rise of religious fundamentalism compelled citizens to become involved in either the protection of the fetus or the defense of reproductive rights. Roe v. Wade had been either labeled as the legal settling of the abortion issue or the igniter of change in regards to abortion. The decision not only affected the minds of the people, but the decision had also set a legal precedent that affected more than thirty Supreme Court cases that later dealt with abortion (Planned Parenthood). As previously stated, abortion was quite accessible during the Nineteenth Century simply because it was classified as a private matter between a woman and her doctor. For more than a decade, the FTC s enforcement of data security actions invoked under В§5 of the Federal Trade Commission Act (FTC Act) resulted in consent decrees and settlements, subsequently scrutinized by practitioners as carrying as much precedential value as judicial opinions. In 2015, the Third Circuit Court Appeals decision in Wyndham reinforced the FTC s authority to pursue enforcement actions against companies that do not have reasonable data security practices. Notwithstanding a motion to dismiss arguing that, inter alia, (1) the FTC lacks authority to regulate under В§5 of the FTC Act and (2) the FTC failed to provide fair notice and of what constitutes reasonable data security standards and (3) В§5 does not govern the security of payment card data; Wyndham marked the first time federal courts held that the FTC has authority under В§5 of the FTC Act to enforce data security practices. Merchant Of Venice Theme Analysis The Merchant of Venice Question: The Merchant of Venice was a play about a Jewish moneylender who plots to cut off a pound of flesh from a Merchant whom he has a history with. Revenge was the central theme of Shakespeare s play The Merchant of Venice . However, there are other themes throughout the text, namely friendship and prejudice, that help to emphasise revenge as the central theme of the play. Revenge is an integral part of the play and characters in the play. Revenge is what drives Shylock, seeking to obtain revenge on Antonio. In a way, Jessica seeks revenge for the hell that her father made at home. In Venice, during the time of Shakespeare, Jews were not seen as humans. They were alienated for their beliefs and due to the belief that Jews were responsible for the death of Christ. As a result of this alienation, Jews were forced to wear red hats whenever going out, which made them ripe for the picking for abuse and discrimination. Such discrimination has been laid down on Shylock, with Antonio spitting on him and calling him a cut throat dog . As seen in Scene Act 1, Scene 3, Antonio, even after receiving a loan, I am as like to call thee so again, To spit on thee again, to spurn thee too. This shows how unthankful Antonio is towards Shylock, simply because he is a Jew. It is no wonder why Shylock seeks revenge on Antonio. The inner feelings of Cross would be mistakenly ignored without the help of symbols throughout his travel through Vietnam. Cross would yell at his men to spread out the column, to keep their eyes open, but then he would slip away into daydreams, just pretending, walking barefoot along the Jersey shore; with Martha, carrying nothing (396). Cross would hope for nothing more than to be carrying nothing. These physical objects weighed him down terribly after the death of Ted Lavender. He had loved Martha much more than his men, and due to his overpowering love he had lost one of them. The pebble was not only a symbol of importance to Cross as he dealt with the trauma of war, but as the physical weight he carried due to the death of his man. These physical symbols helped to identify a shift in the story when Cross decides to open up and make a change to the way he is coping with the war after Lavender s death. This wouldn t help Lavender, he knew that, but from this point on he would comport himself as an officer (403). These cultures left imprints on society, founding future forms of art and architecture through their inspirational elements are artists. These long lasting cultural elements have created echoes as deep into the future as now, the 21st century. Looking at the Southern Methodist Church in downtown Austin, we see a variety of Greek and Roman architectural elements. The Southern Methodist Church has a variety of classical elements that attribute it to past temples and structures created by the Roman and Greek cultures, appropriated to fit into the religion of the church by the manipulation of certain parts, such as the frieze. To begin, the first and foremost part of the discussion is the elements of Greek and Roman architecture that have been incorporated and appropriated for the building of this church. The first and foremost noticeable feature would be the columns, architrave, and pediment. The columns are classic ionic columns, starting from the ornate base and leading up to the capital, all the elements of the classical ionic columns are present, creating an almost life like appearance to the columns as they grow and support the architrave, a characteristic that can be traced back to Egyptian columns in temples and funerary buildings. Further, the shaft of the column follows the Greek style of creation. The divides are evidence that each piece of the columns were ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Adhd Research Paper 1 TERM RESEARCH PAPER ON ATTENTION DEFICIT/HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER Introduction Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder ( ADHD ) is a common childhood disorder that represents developmentally inappropriate levels of inattention, impulsivity and overactivity. It occurs in 3% to 5% of the school age population as stated by (Craighead, Craighead, Kazdin Mahoney, 1994). Another author (Barkley, 1981) stated that ADHD occurs in at least one child in every classroom. However, most of the available evidence found, points to neurological factors, which are imbalances of neurotransmitters in the brain, and genetic variables as the primary causes of ADHD. The environmental factors and toxic reactions (such as lead exposure and food additives) are considered very minimal causes of ADHD. The search for causes of ADHD continues. There are many variables which are biological or thought to have an affect on biological functioning. Assessment of ADHD An evaluation of a child with ADHD includes multiple assessment techniques. The main goals of the assessment are: 1. to gather information about the developmental deviance of ADHD symptoms or other behavioural problems. 2. to rule out other psychiatric, learning or emotional problems that may be causing inattention, impulsivity, and/or overactivity. 3. to determine the degree of consistency between the sources and across situations with respect to reports of behaviours associated with ADHD. 4. to identify and prioritise targets for intervention. There are various types of Cyanobacteria such as Nostoc punctiforme, a filamentous cyanobacteria. N. punctiforme has different cell types such as vegetative cells, akinetes, heterocysts and hormogonia. Vegetative cells are where photosynthesis occurs. In N. punctiforme, vegetative cells have a third developmental alternative in which they differentiate into akinetes (dormant spore like cells). Akinetes are evolutionary precursors of heterocysts (Meeks and Elhai 2002). Heterocysts supply a microaerobic environment to produce essential proteins for nitrogen fixation. According to some recent studies there is evidence that hormogonia have pilus like structures. In these studies they inactivated the pilT like (pilus retraction gene) and pilD like (prepilin peptidase) components, which changed the surface piliation levels and lowered the symbiotic competency (Duggan et al, 2007). Junctional pores are structures that form around filaments on both sides of each cross wall or septum. These pores make channels that radiate out and it was found that they may be involved in gliding movements. The pores are sites where mucilage is secreted and thus leads to the gliding motility of Nostoc punctiforme (Hoiczyk and Baumeister, 1998). During World War II, Prisoners of War were tortured by many different ways, just like how the boys in Lord of the Flies were tortured by their own captivity while on the island. The student loan crisis is a legitimate problem, not a myth. College students do not realize the risks they take when they acquire student loans. Student loans can and do have negative effects on the economy and there are also hardships the students will face in the future. However, I find the author, Joe Hagmann, has his tin foil hat on, and the thought that the entertainment industry is conducting an elaborate scheme to brainwash children, is a tad further than ridiculous. To eliminate independence from the equation doesn t seem like a sound idea in my opinion. Yes, for the most part parents are an excellent force of guidance that can steer a child in the correct direction, but limited exposure to the media and the un Godly world we live in won t be as useful when they re old enough to leave the nest. I don t believe that a parent s word will be enough to prepare oneself for reality. Would a 9 year old, like Hagmann s be too young for complete autonomy and control in their life. Yes. I, however, believe that the road to independence should be gradual, and that parents should have full authority, and then throw them into the deep end when they re still highly dependent on them. Before I read this book I thought the book was about astronauts or something ridiculous. During the book I had some ideas that The Fault In Our Stars meant a mistake or something that predestined one s fate. I was kind of close. The title meant that the Fault is not always in the others, but in ourselves. For instance, Hazel Grace has cancer and a chronic illness not because she did something to cause it; It was just fate. I believe the title was just giving us a hint of the main idea of the book. Category 1, #5 As he read, I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once. Even before she admits it... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Category 2, #3 If this book were to be found in the distant future, 3052 to be exact, I would think that it was written for a more fantasy driven culture. If some random historians and sociologists just randomly came by this book, first they d probably think what is a book, why was society so messed up back then, and why were their books so amazing. One could conclude that their era was one of literary prosperity. Most likely because of influences from previous eras of literature and innovation increasing throughout time. Category 3, #1 I think that one of the characters that I notices the most was Peter. He was the author of the book Imperial Affliction, which Hazel Grace and Augustus Waters both read and found something in common. They both loved this story so much that they went to Amsterdam where Peter lived and confronted him in order to find out the untold ending. When they realize a few things about Peter (he is a total jerk, drunkard, and that he didn t even write the end of his book) and his book, they just decide to forget him. But later on, at the ending of the book when the tide turns and Augustus Waters washes away, Peter Van Houten shows up and reveals his characters flaws happened because of his children s deaths. This made me sit up and appreciate the making of this character, and the authors creativeness throughout the book. I think the irony in this character is that many older people are like this but ... • 54. The Indian Constitution INTRODUCTION The undeniable fundamental rights were preserved in Part III of the Indian Constitution. Directive Principles were enumerated in Part IV of the Constitution. The terms fundamental rights have not been defined in the Constitution. Article 12 imposes duty on the state to protect citizens for enjoying the Fundamental Rights. Each article has a distinct, important an valuable fundamental right empowering the citizens. These rights primarily aimed at assuring political freedom to the citizens by protecting them against excessive State action. They are given a pride of place in the Constitution by the Drafting Committee. Despite being part of the same constitution, a contrast is often made between part III and part IV i.e. between fundamental rights and directive principles. The main reasons are the judicial enforceability of FR and its nature being negative obligation of the state. The Fundamental Rights are enforceable. The directives are non В¬justifiable and are more in the nature of positive affirmations of the state. However in recent time, some of the directives have been made a part of chapter on Fundamental Rights to be in tune with the requirements of changing polity. ARTICLE 31 C In 25th Amendment, 1971 Art 31 C was added by the Constitution. The importance of the directive principles are enhanced by this amendment. As stated in the object clause of the Bill, the object of the amendment was enacted to get over the difficulties placed in the way of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 56. Literary Analysis Of A Farewell To Arms Haunting yet passionate, A Farewell to Arms allows readers to perceive the story from a soldier s point of view. Hemingway depicts the harsh war with sensory but blunt details. His expression of words has an emotional appeal on the reader, allowing his or her to put themselves in the shoes of any character. For example, on page 73 Hemingway writes, There was sunlight coming through the shutters. I saw the big armoire, the bare walls, and two chairs. My legs in dirty bandages, stuck straight out of the bed. Hemingway fully describes what is seen and this permits his audience to have a full picture in their mind. Hemingway includes important quotes throughout the novel. On page 26, Miss Barkley starts, You did say you loved me, didn t you? and Henry replies, Yes, I lied, I loveyou. I had not said it before. Later, she brings up the rotten game they play as their affection isn t completely real. The men at the mess begin to talk about protesting war on page 61, You are a foreigner. You are a patriot. And the ones who would not make war? Can they stop it? I don t know. They speak of this earlier in the book (page 43) as well but they can never fully understand how war starts or ends. On page 99, Henry and Barkley speak of their love, I only wanted it for you. There isn t a me. I m you. Don t make up a separate me. Another quote on page 200, Henry explains that he is over his obligation of being a part of the army by saying, Anger was washed away in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Subpoint Social media platforms create misinformed individuals 1.Denis Marie Ordway in a 2017 article, Fake News and the Spread of Misinformation, attempts to give readers some sense as to how much misinformation is spread. She states that, A December 2016 survey by the Pew Research Center suggests that 23 percent of U.S. adults have shared fake news, knowingly or unknowingly, with friends and others TRANSITION: News is constantly available to read, however what individuals see and share becomes things that are not completely accurate. Then judgments are made based on that false information, and misinformed individuals. 2.Users appear to be less capable of distinguishing true from false rumors... in fact, we show that the prevalent... Subpoint Social media platforms can be a strong tool to encourage major changes in the world. 1.During the 2011 Egypt uprising protesters gained support through social media sites like Facebook and Twitter to help end poverty and unemployment in which they were experiencing at the time. This major flow of support from across the world helped strengthen the protesters cause and led to an eventual victory in Egypt (Brym 2014). 2.In Kenya, 200, after a controversial election violence broke out where over 1,000 people were killed.
