Tim O Brien brings the Vietnam War back to life in The Things They Carried (1990) and
elucidates the wounds suffered by soldiers during and after the war. The three main characters in
this novel that exemplify the physical, social, and emotional wounds are Tim O Brien, Norman
Bowker, and Mark Fossie. These men go through immense pain both during and after the war,

The consumer electronics magnate Apple Inc. has been accused of labor abuse in its Asian supply
chain. The acquiescence of underage labor, excessive working hours and illegitimate low wage in
China based Foxconn factories is clear evidence of corporate social responsibility (CSR) omission.
In fact, such acquiescence is the result of an exploitation chain, with Apple at the top, Chinese
workers at the bottom and Foxconn in between.

The inelasticity of labor supply curtails the bargaining power of workers and places them at a
disadvantage against their employer. Most of Foxconn employees are underprivileged and
consequently undereducated. The first feature deprives them of alternatives other than working to
