History Of The Republican Party
In 1792, the Democratic Party was formed. Thomas Jefferson s supporters started using
the name Republicans of Jeffersonian Republicans. In the 1830s, during the Presidency
of Andrew Jackson, the party assumed its current name. Shortly after, in the 1840s and
1850s, the party was conflicted over whether or not to extend slavery to the Western
territories. The Southern and Northern Democrats were in disagreement. In 1860, the
party split over the conflict. From there, the Northern Democrats had nominated Stephen
Douglas as their Presidential candidate. The Southern Democrats nominated John C.
Breckinridge, adopting a pro slavery platform. The election campaign was won by
Abraham Lincolnwith the newly formed Republican Party. The Democratic Partysoon

They began redeeming states. Sometimes, this affair went peacefully. However, there
were also times in which it involved fraud and violence. By 1877, the Democratic Party
controlled every southern state. Until the civil rights movement in the 1960 s, the south
remained a one party region. Due to the Democratic victories in the south, many
Southern Congressmen and Senators were re elected over and over. The dependence and
importance of seniority in Congress let Southerners control most of the committees in
both houses of congress. Every piece of civil rights legislation was shot down. F.D.R., a
Democratic president, rarely challenged the southern majority. In the 1930 s, the House
passed a federal anti lynching bill. However, the Southern senators repeatedly

The reforms only deepened the social prejudices by kicking out the Jesuits (depriving
education to the creoles), raising taxes only on the Indians then including the creoles,
not allowing Mexicans to dress like Spanish, and finally taking away from the poor
entertainment (bullfighting) and cheap alcohol (pulque). The Bourbon reforms ended
up most importantly lowering the creoles to minority status. Then Charles IV, who
became hated by Spain and her colonies, only enforced the Bourbon reforms; he raised
the taxes on the Mexican aristocracy because he would not tax the Spanish. He then
decreed the Law of Consolidation of 1804, which ordered the Mexican church to sell
its land and give its earnings to the crown also call in most loans it had with creoles and
Indians. Napoleon made Charles IV abdicate, and instated Charles son Ferdinand VII,
and then quickly replaced Ferdinand VII with his brother Joseph. All of Spain and
Mexico was in agreement that Ferdinand VII was their rightful King and that they would
reject any decree or representative from the French usurper . Which shows the loyalty
Spain and its colonies had to their king. With the social injustices occurring and their
constant change in governmental authorities, the people showed they disapproval.
Rallies of rebels (mostly creoles) would cry, Long live the King! Death to bad
government! Which represents the support for the king but they were disgusted
Pathology Of The Autonomic Nervous System
Introduction
In this report, the symptoms of this patient will be diagnosed, and the causes of them
discussed with reference to the physiology and pharmacology of the autonomic nervous
system.
The Autonomic Nervous System
The autonomic nervous system (ANS) is the part of the motor division of the peripheral
nervous system (PNS) that controls involuntary processes in the body (Wieczorek, 2014).
Such functions include control of heart rate, gland activity, smooth muscle contraction
and constriction of blood vessels (Biology online.org, 2014). The ANS is divided into
two branches, the sympathetic nervous system (SN) and the parasympathetic nervous
system (PN). The SN is responsible for the fight or flight response, which results in
increased preparedness for vigorous activity in response to exercise or emergency. The
PN acts antagonistically to the SN, in that it produces the opposite effects to those of the
SN. Under normal circumstances, the PN is dominant, and allows processes such as
digestion and defecation to occur, while also conserving energy (Elmhurst.edu, 2014).
Most of the visceral organs of the body are innervated by both sympathetic and
parasympathetic neurones, with the exceptions being sweat glands and the smooth
muscle of blood vessels they are only innervated by sympathetic nerve fibres
(Wieczorek, 2014).
In the ANS, a number of different neurotransmitters and receptors are present. In both the
PN and SN, the neurotransmitter at the ganglia is

The evolutionary history of cotton played an important role in the heritage of the British
Empire, the United States(U.S.), and India. Cotton continues to be an important crop and
commodity throughout society. The history of Cotton is one of the most important factors
to our society currently. Cotton cultivation dates back over 7,000 years, seeds of cotton
are found all over the world. Cotton is hugely important throughout the world, making
cotton useful to make a number of textile products. Since cotton is used and produced on
such a widespread industry, cotton s largest producers are China and India. However; the
largest exporters of raw cotton are the United States and Africa. The advancement in
cotton textile industries, and the worldwide vast cultivation of the crop is the product of
human demand towards the farming, production, and export of cotton.
The global cotton industry is distinguished by its abundant industrial uses of cotton
plume, which is the fiber within the cotton used to create products, along with the high
production costs that come along with it. Extreme vegetative growth can hinder
destructively with productivity of the cotton plant. Why it makes applying growth
regulators an essential for healthy develop6ment in the cotton culture (Vitor 2015).

Twin Cancer Studies
Cancer has been around for longer than people expect, with the first documented case
dating back to 1500 bc. Because of the complexity of tumors, the origin of the disease
was unknown until the late 19th century and the search for treatment or a cure came
even later. The 20th century saw the greatest progression of cancerresearch, with twins
being crucial to such studies. Twinstudies were used as an important method in the field
of cancer study.
Scientists and researchers did not pay particular attention to twins and zygosity before
the 20th century. One of the earliest and the simplest of assessments was based on the
question, Were you as children as alike as two peas in a pod? When both twins answered
affirmatively, they were defined... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By comparing multiple types of cancer, not just lung cancer, results of over 14 studies
indicated that zygosity of twins play a minimal role in the causation of most types of
cancer (3). This further indicates that if zygosity, that is, the percentage of DNA shared
between two people does not affect the development of cancer, than the genetic makeup
of humans does not affect the development of
The Voice And Perception Of Women Essay
The voice and perception of women have been every changing since the moment that
God breathed life into Eve s lungs while still in the Garden of Eden. Though she is not
the first woman to ever be written about, there are many that consider her to be the first
woman to walk on earth. She was made from Adam s rib and designed to be an
extension of him. Eve was to be his companion as he was to be her lord. She is the
example that women are supposed to model themselves after, her mistake of eating the
forbidden fruit notwithstanding. For centuries, in most literature women have either a
limited or nonexistence voice. An idea that the modern womancould not fathom, since
her voice now strong, loud, and demanding. It would be easy to take for granted the
mountains and valleys her voice had to travel in order to be what it is now. Part of this
journey is found in the way women were viewed in Mary Wollstonecraft s A Vindication
of the Rights of Woman, John Ruskin s Of Queen s Garden, and Virginia Woolf s A
Room of One s Own.
Like Eve, other women found on the pages with some exception were only meant to aid
and support her male counterparts within the story, just as women were meant to do in
real life. Much was not expected of women, other than to be the dutiful daughter and then
wife. This was a fact that Romantic female writer, Mary Wollstonecraft took issue with in
her essay A Vindication of the Rights of Woman:
Contending for the rights of woman, my main argument is built on
Comparison of a Play within a Play in Hamlet Essay
Even though they are performing the same scene, the two movies are very different in
style. First, the shots and lighting are displayed differently to catch the different
moods of the movies. In the first movie, the camera stays close to everybody s face. It
seems to zoom in on characters that are speaking and does not try to capture the
listeners reactions to those who are speaking. Also, the lighting is very dark and the
scene is closed in. The background scenery of a castle room is very small and closed in.
This makes the room not actually seem like a real castle room because castle rooms
are always shown as big, lavish, well kept rooms. In the second movie, the camera,
instead of being on one person s face, usually stays on two... Show more content on

Also, when talking to Polonius, Hamlet tries to hide the fact that he is making fun of
him, instead of openly insulting him. In this movie, Hamlet is shown to try and flirt
with Ophelia, who just acts disgusted with his words. She seems to be trying to play
hard to get with him, which does not go with her supposed belief that he is crazy. Hamlet
also throws in lines throughout this scene of the go thee to a nunnery speech whenever
Ophelia throws a comeback that is too harsh for him.
In the actual play, the two directors did not think alike at all. First of all, the second
movie totally left out the dumb play. This seems more realistic to what the king does
because the king leaves during the death of Gonzolago in the speaking play of both
movies, but if the king saw what was going to happen by watching the silent play, then I
think he would have gotten nervous as well as guilty right then and would have left the
room. Also, the lines that Hamlet says during the middle of the speaking play are yelled
out loud in the first movie, going along with the thought that he is crazy. In the second
movie, he whispered them to either Ophelia, or the king and queen. Hamlet seems more
focused on making the king feel guilty about murdering King Hamlet and showing it on
his face to prove the ghost right in the second movie. He seems to say things that would
get the king
Great Expectations By Charles Dickens
Commonly, a novel is either a plot driven novel, a character driven novel, or a mix of the
two. In order for a novel to be character driven, it must revolve more around the characters
individual thoughts, feelings, and inner struggles, rather than around the quest of the
story. Great Expectations, by Charles Dickens, is a characterdriven novel. While the story
does have a plot, it is not contingent upon that plot, but rather is reliant upon its
characters and their natures. This is evident from the beginning of the novel. From the
opening of the novel, it is clear that it is character driven. It opens with an introduction
to the main protagonist, Pip, who is a complex character that faces much internal
conflict during his development. The reader learns of Pip s past and present conditions
as well as his internal struggle. Pip best describes it later as, Scattered wits take a long
time picking up, and often, before I had got them well together, they would be dispersed
in all directions by one stray thought,... (Dickens 103). It is common for character driven
novels to open in such a way where character description comes before plot description.
This implies to the reader that the characters are foundational ideas behind the story.
Dickens created many characters, and the fact that they are all highly developed indicates
character drive. The lives of the different individuals are very intertwined, so that their
interactions impact their character development. As Pip

Figure 3. Convolution architecture for handwriting recognition There are 5 and 50
nodes in the first and second conventional layers, respectively, where each node uses

change over them into more mind complicated characteristics at a coarser

A Research Study On Health Care
Evidenced based research is defined as continually using current best evidence based
research when decisions have to be made about the patients care or health care
(Melnyk, Fineout Overholt, 2005). There is a clinical/medical question that needs to be
looked into. The question is researched by searching for information on that question
paying close attention to the important reviews and evaluations of the information
given (Melnyk, Fineout Overholt, 2005). This requires that you review more than one
study in order to get reliable and more dependable results which can lead to a better
understanding of the research question (Melnyk, Fineout Overholt, 2005). One example
of evidenced based research: A health care professional suggests that a patient who has
recently had stomach bleeding take acetaminophen to treat his arthritis pain. The health
care professional has done research on this and research has shown that acetaminophen
has less risk for stomach bleeds than most of the other regular pain relievers (Ahrq.gov,
n. d.). The health professional has performed evidenced based research. All health care
providers who utilize evidence based practice uses research evidence, clinical expertise
and patient preferences which make up the components of evidenced based research. It
may also be beneficial to use the systematic reviews which are the summary of the
research results that will give information helps with the evidence based practice process

Descriptive Essay On Nantucketu
I am fortunate enough to live on the beautiful island of Nantucket. Growing up here in
such a close knit community, has put me aside from your average high schooler in the
best way possible. Nantucket is full of incredible wildlife and conservation land that is
so unique it looks untouched. Wintertime, when all the summer people leave, you know
everybody on the island. It s literally impossible to drive through town without seeing a
familiar face. But by the time summer comes the island explodes with electricity that s
unlike anywhere else. Massive yachts pack our tiny harbor and enormous private jets fill
the airport on the weekends. Having such a drastic change is something that makes
Nantucketso unique. Personally, I don t have a favorite season, Nantucket is perfect
year round and that s why I feel so blessed to call it home. When the days are shorter
and the water is colder the tourists are driven away, leaving a small community, one of
the greatest communities on the planet. So close that when someone dies it can affect
the whole island. The best feature Nantucket has to offer is how the locals come
together and help others in need. When something happens, news travels fast and
everyone knows. Having a small community also makes our sports teams closer, we
have no choice but to play together. We spend a lot more time together than other teams,
every away game we have to take a boat then a school bus to the game. Doing that gets
us more comfortable with each other
Pilate Benefits
This article discusses about Pilates for the older people to keep body proper and
balance, which it is necessary. Since it says that for Pilates for elder in so many forms
of exercise may cause stress or frustration on themselves. So, while staying in shape
while reducing the risk of injury that weight bearing exercises may cause, they are more
focus on the controlled breathing and quality of movements of the body instead of the
boundaries (arms and legs), where the potential for injury is greater. In difference with
other forms of exercise, Pilates develops the midrange and gradually works toward the
endurance, while maintaining complete control around the joints. To the benefit of older
adults, Pilates teaches control and stability in a small range of motion, graduating to a
larger range of motion as they gain control and confidence. Pilates also help with a
variety of age related weaknesses. Arthritis sufferers benefit because the gentle mid range
movements decrease the chance of joints compressing while maintaining the range of
motion around them. For sufferers of osteoporosis or stenosis, Pilates can also help. For
osteoporosis the simple and standing Pilates leg exercises may increase bone density in
both the spine and the hip.

Howard Robard Hughes was a very inventive, attention getting man. He was an out

pictures and the aviation industry. His inherited fortune gave him the opportunity to
start building on his dreams at an early age. Although Howard remained in the news
his entire life he was not always looked on favorably in the public s eye. In later years
his paranoia left him a recluse and in twenty years he had not been seen or

Marine sergeant pulled Hughes out of the plane, and he was rushed to Beverly Hills
Emergency Hospital. He was given a fifty percent chance to live. As he suffered with
serious head and back injuries, he became addicted to painkillers. Hughes was
constantly self injecting morphine into his body. As the years passed he became
irrationally paranoid. He surrounded himself with aides that he trusted; a group of
seven Mormons which never left Howard s side, and insisted that any item handed to
him be covered by a Kleenex. Hughes had many projects he worked on such as the
Spruce Goose. It was the biggest plane ever built. With a wing span as long as a
football field and room for six hundred plus passengers it was very famous. The Spruce
Goose had eight seventeen foot propellers and the interior looked like the set of the old
Time Tunnel, TV series. On November 2, 1945 in San Pedro Harbor the Spruce Goose
flew but for only seventy yards. Hughes also built the world s first communications
satellite. His dream was that anyone on or about the earth could communicate with
someone else. Arthur C. Clark first had this idea but never
Personal Values Centered On The Right Person For The Job
Sarah perceived her personal values centered on the candidate being the right type of
person for the job. She felt that it was important to her that the candidate has values
and characteristics which in her opinion make them the right person for the job. Sarah
posted that a nurse can have a lot of experience and have all of the technical skills, but
if they have no bedside manner or respect for their co workers the she does not want to
hire them. She believes that it is healthy to have a positive social intelligence in the
workplace and in order to help with this she would want to hire someone that she believe
can work with people and has not just professional but personal values.
Sarah felt that it is very easy to be biased and a nurse manager needs to be thinking
during the interview does this candidate meet the qualifications for the job? Sarah
posted that the manager should focus most on qualifications instead of personal
opinions. She thinks that interviewers can make mistakes, it is very hard not to. She
responded that you may only see the good in people, which isn t realistic. Or you may
only see the bad. Also a mistake can be does the manager think about would the
candidate be good for the job in the future ( a year later). Because if the new hire is
going to quickly leave the job they are probably not the best candidate. It is easy to have
bias or make mistakes, the manager needs to just do the best they can.
The Internal Production Spaces Of Large Cities
This same logic leads not just towards generalized urban agglomeration but to the
emergence of multiple dense industrial districts within the metropolis. The internal
production spaces of large cities are composed of mosaics of particular kinds of industrial
land use focused on localized nodal clusters comprising activities that range from
manufacturing to office and service functions. For example, gun and jewellery
manufacturing in Birmingham, England; footwear industry of East London; clothing
production of New York City; motor vehicle industry of Tokyo; and office functions in
modern metropolis illustrate different aspects of the theory of industrial organization and
location. They represent especially clear cases of the internal specialization of parts of
the production space of the large metropolis. As such, they illustrate both, the generality
of the problem of agglomeration and the wide diversity of concrete forms that it can
assume under different conjectural circumstances.
The metropolis and the neighbourhood can be linked to the Chicago school of urban
sociology, which has developed ethnographic studies based on various ethnic
neighbourhoods over several decades. This kind of work focuses on interaction and its
density within the city, generating an ecological stereotype of the urban process
depending on the conflict and competition between various groups and their growth in
terms of spatial and social movement. The city is an area of dense mobility and

Summary of objectives.
Data from Latin America have shown that women who have access to the Internet are
increasingly getting information about medication abortion online and that women who
have access to accurate information and reliable medication abortion drugs can safely
terminate their own pregnancies.
Safe abortion hotlines have become central to women s access to information about safe
medication abortion in restrictive legal contexts around the globe.3,10 Given the
stigmatized and often criminalized nature of abortion in many countries where women s
self management of abortion using medications is common, it is not surprising that
evidence is scarce regarding who accesses medications for abortion outside of formal
settings, how they access them, what information they have, and what their experiences

Mohammed Reza Pahlavi And The Iranian Revolution
The Iranian Revolution was the first of many popular civil insurrections that resulted in
the overthrow of an autocratic monarchy which lasted from 1977 to 1979. It consisted of
non violent demonstrations by the revolutionaries until late 1978, due to the shah s
decision to violently silence demonstrators. The shah, during the time period, was
Mohammed Reza Pahlavi. He was viewed by many to be a western puppet who
implemented a variety of systems and programs that suggested westernization. Iranwas
being transformed under his rule, and there were efforts to separate from Islamic culture
and religious values. However, because of Pahlavi s anti traditional changes, he saw a

Workers compensation fraud is often difficult to prove. Even when a claim is denied, it
can be challenged by an attorney, and an insurance company can find themselves paying
out compensation to someone they suspect of fraud. In some cases, there may be no
suspicion of fraud, but the discovery of fraudoccurs accidentally because the fraudster
has made a mistake. The following are four mistakes that are made by those who are
defrauding insurance companies because of fake injuries and how our services can help
in documenting them.
They get another job
While collecting workers compensation, an individual may find other work. Getting a
check for sitting at home is not enough for some people. Without any physical injury, a
person may want to earn ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is a classic mistake that a fraudster makes. After their claim is approved and they
begin to receive money, they let their guard down. They can be seen doing things that
are supposed to be impossible. An example would be a person with a back injury, not
capable of lifting more than a pound of weight, seen lifting heavy items from their car
after returning from the store. In some cases, people claim limited mobility, but can be
seen walking around or even running. These types of mistakes can be caught on video,
and the fraudster will have been caught.
They post pictures of their activities on social media
People enjoy social media, but they fail to understand how wide spread their postings
can circulate. One of the biggest mistakes a fraudster will make is posting pictures of a
vacation they took or other fun activity they recently engaged in that is impossible for
them given their claim of injury. It is true that there is security for some these sites, so
the information is private and limited to a small circle of people, but fraudsters often
make the mistake of not taking security precautions.

Exact Optimization And Optimization Algorithm
Exact optimisation method is the optimisation method that can guarantee to find all
optimal solutions. In principle, the optimality of generated solution can be proofed
mathematically. Therefore, exact optimisation is also termed as mathematical
optimisation. However, exact optimisation approach is impractical usually. The effort of
solving an optimisation problem by exact optimisation grows polynomially with the
problem size. For example, to solve a problem by brute force approach, the execution
time increases exponentially respect to the dimensions of the problem.
The idea of applying exact optimisation approach on requirements selection and
optimisation is similar with search based requirements optimisation. The only difference
is that, instead of using search based optimisation algorithm, the search based
requirements selection and optimisation problem is tracked with exact optimisation
algorithm. There are three main categories exact optimisations found in the literature.
They are Integer linear programming [25], dynamic programming [26], and exhaustive
search [27].
Uncertainty is ubiquitous and accompanies all events in the real world. It covers all
fields of scientific studies, and is inevitable in many aspects of decision making [28].
The essence of uncertainty is the lack of complete knowledge at the time a decision
must be made [7]. Uncertainty arises from different sources in various forms, and
complicates and affects decision making [28]. Even worse, it may
Polyphenylene Vinylene Lab Report
PPV, otherwise known as polyphenylene vinylene are electric conductors that processed
into tiny films which emit a bright fluorescent yellow light which could potentially be a
replacement for LEDS in electronics. PPV is prepared from p xylene bis and the
addition of acetonitrile tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate and from there, the product
is treated with heat to eliminate diethyl sulfide, HCL, and ethyl sulfide to form the final
product, PPV. Similarly, another method, called direct chemical polymerization, formed
PPV but it was only in the form of powder which could not be turned into tiny films for
commercial use. In lab, we learned that PPV precursor can be synthesized in a one step
reaction from p xylene using NBs. In the reaction with... Show more content on

The process can be done with NBs, FeCl3, and Cl2. NBs would add the Br to the
benzylic carbons while FeCl3 and Cl2 is a friedel crafts alkylation and the Cls are
added to the compound ortho directing since it can not attack para because there is
already a molecule there. PPV can emit light because of its molecular diagram. To
illustrate, the cathode and anode, 1,3 butadiene and 1,3,5 hexatriene s molecular orbital
diagram are shown below. These diagrams show that the gap between the homo and
lumo for 1,3,5 hexatriene is small which means the energy that is emitted would be
lower than 1,3 butadiene but the wavelength for 1,3,5 hexatriene is higher. At higher
wavelengths, there is less energy which is directly related to if PPV has electron
withdrawing or donating groups. For example, BEH PPV, which emits orange red light,
has two OR groups (which is an electron donating group) attached to it thus creating
lower energy and higher wavelength values. On the other hand, BuEH PPV , a
compound that emits a yellow green light, has two carbon chains attached to it, which
although is still an electron donating group, is much weaker than OR so the wavelength
value is less than BEH PPV, so the energy must be higher. To further increase energy, it is
necessary to give PPV more electron withdrawing groups, such as a halogen. Halogens
are useful in this reaction because although they are electron withdrawing groups, they
still attack ortho/para which allows the electron withdrawing groups to enter in a spot
with the least
Relapse Prevention Proposal
NURSING MANAGEMENT
Earlier studies have stated that continuous monitoring of early signs of relapse and early
pharmacological treatment; especially the early detection of symptoms, showed desired
clinical outcomes in relation to relapse minimization (Spaniel, Novak, Bankovska et al,
2015). A vital element in daily activities that relies in preventing episode of relapse is
medication adherence. Patients with schizophrenia have shown that they have a poor
compliance in taking their medication (Kurtz et al, 2007). Improving relapse prevention
plan is an important element to achieve an effective long term intervention of
schizophrenia (Kurtz et al, 2007). Moreover, the early detection or prevention and
effective treatment plan are key elements in avoiding episodes of relapse in
schizophrenic patient (The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists,

Learned Helplessness Study
If you do not feel like you are in command of your destiny, then chances are you will
give up and come into acceptance of whatever situation you may be in (McRaney,

because the past has taught them that they are not in control. The study of learned
helplessness was first experimented on dogs, and later it was realized that it had the
same effects and impacts on humans. Past research suggests that learned helpless
subjects are likely to make internal, stable, and global causal explanations for
unfavorable outcomes, and external, unstable, and specific ones for favorable outcomes

The People Believe About Rastafarians
Despite what many people believe about Rastafarians, there are many
misunderstandings. Many are set on calling any person that has dreadlocks, or anyone
who lives away from the Rasta society. Reggae musicians, weed smokers and Jamaican
lingo talkers are in the make beliefs of the Rastafarians. Clearly those exterior references
only create a more confusing understanding of Rastafarians. For anyone to call
themselves Rasta, one must know everything about their culture. Unlike other religions
where all one has to do is accept whatever that religion says without study, one must
study the doctrine, the diet, the laws and the strict codes that obey to the Rasta faith. It is
seen as a way of life rather than just another religion. Since each... Show more content on

Garvey s dream of a return to Africa became the Rastafarian dream as well, and some
Rastafarians have indeed settled in Ethiopia, Ghana, and Zaire. One of the early
impacts who paved the way for the rise of this cult was Marcus Garvey. Garvey lived
in New York City, and believed that the black man would never receive fair treatment
in a white man s world. He then organized a back to Africa movement that attracted
thousands. Which were followers among the poor blacks of certain large city urban
areas. Garvey was convicted of mail fraud, and spent time in prison. When he finally
returned to his native Jamaica in 1927, Garvey allegedly prophesied that a black king
would be crowned in Africa. He also stated through that monarch freedom for dark
skin people would be realized eventually. Garvey himself never joined the succeeding
religious movement that became known as Rastafarianism. Garvey was even critical
of Haile Selassie for leaving Ethiopia during the time of the Italian Fascist occupation.

HOW CLAY BRICKS ARE MADE
INTRODUCTION
Clay bricks are used in a wide range of buildings from housing to factories, and in the
construction of tunnels, waterways, bridges etc. Their properties vary according to the
purpose for which they are intended, but clays have provided the basic material of
construction for centuries. Brick is the oldest manufactured building material, and much
of its history is lost in antiquity. The oldest burnt or fired bricks have been found on the
sites of the ancient cities of Babylonia, some of which are estimated to be about 6000
years old. Brick is, after all, virtually indestructible. The industry developed on traditional
lines, using hand making processes for the most part. ... Show more content on

Water can be added here or if it is a dry pan the clay is reduced to dust and water added
later. Further crushing takes place through conveyor rollers reducing the clay particles to
about 1 2mm.
FORMING THE BRICK SHAPE
Most bricks are formed by one of two basic processes.
Extrusion
The clay body is mixed to a fairly stiff texture and is then loaded into an extruder where
a worm screw pushes it along a barrel into a vacuum chamber which compresses it
through a taper and out through a die. The die is machined to a precise size and shape
larger than the finished size of the brick, calculating how much the clay will shrink
during the drying and firing process. The clay emerges as a continuous brick shaped
column. Initially this is smooth but it can be modified by removing a thin sliver from
the top and sides using a taught wire to produce a wiredrag effect or by placing
textured rollers over the column to create a rusticated effect or even by blasting the
column with sand. The clay column is then cut into single bricks and palletised ready
for the dryers or in some factories, are loaded directly onto kiln cars. Extruded bricks are
generally perforated and can be solid but cannot be frogged.

Science Denial Endangers Progress
Throughout the history of scientific research, deniers of science have been one of the
biggest obstacles for progress to overcome. Case after case, we have seen religion,
misinformation, and ignorance stifle the efforts of those who wish to progress the human
race forward. For instance, Galileo was found vehemently suspect of heresy by the
Catholic Church for his ideas about the earth s position in the universe and was thusly
imprisoned, halting his research. This sort of sciencedenial still occurs today. The denial
of scientific evidence is measurably, dangerous, irresponsible, and will have a lasting
impact on our future should it continue. I wish to present my case to all walks of life.
Whether you are liberal, moderate, or conservative, christian, hindu, or muslim, my
message is universal, for everyone, and transcends the boundaries of religious and
political ideologies.
First I would like to explain what scientific denial is. To do this we must first understand
what science is. So what is science? Science, as defined by The Oxford Dictionary, is a
noun and means, The intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic
study of the structure and behavior of the physical and natural world through observation
and experiment. The scientific community, however, wishes that people see science as a
verb. Science is information that can be tested and improved upon until the information
itself accurately depicts and defines something. Take the Big Bang
How to Make Lemonade Essay
How to Make Lemonade
Water is the most refreshing drink in the world, and probably the cheapest. People
drink water because it s easy to achieve and cost barely anything. Lemon is one of the
worse kinds of grapefruit people eat or doesn t eat at all. It taste extremely sour and
even bitter if you eat the skin. But if you add these two ingredients together, you get one
of the most prolific drinks ever. There are hundreds of ways of making lemonade. From
whiskey lemonade to chocolate lemonade, there is a very wide range of making
lemonade. But the simplest of all these kinds is the water base lemon drink, where water
and lemon is the two crucial flavors in the drink. It s refreshing, healthy, and helps reduce

It cost around 65 cents for one pound of lemon, and cost 25 cents for 5 gallons of water.
Without these three ingredients, the drink will no longer be called lemonade. It is
essential that a knife be there to cut the lemon, a cup or a pot for the drink, and a stove
pan to heat the drink. Later on, it is necessary to have a blender for the ice. And the last
important detail of the juice is the juice squeezer.
First off, wash the lemons clean so there won t be any dirt or bacteria on the lemon.
Use the knife and cut the lemon in half so the juice can be easily squeezed out of. If
you desire more juice from the lemon, it is a good way to put the lemon in the
microwave first for around 10 to 15 seconds. After cutting the lemon and squeezing
about 2 cups of juice into the cup or pot, add around 6 cups of water. After adding
water to the cup, add 1 and a half cup of sugar to the juice and water. The most
important thing to remember is that the ratio of juice, sugar and water makes lemonade
great not too sweet, not too tart. I like 6 cups of water to 2 cups juice and 2 cups sugar.
Adjust it to suit yourself. Also, don t forget how great hot lemonade tastes in the winter
when you have a sore throat. You can freeze the lemon/sugar syrup for later use.
After all said and done with the first process, add the juice in the pan and heat it on the
stove. Let it heat up till vapor appears. This causes the heat to reduce
Gertrude Stein Analysis
Stein s life and the impact on her art The author of this poem, Gertrude Stein, was born
in Allegheny, Pennsylvania, and she is the youngest of five children. This prestigious
modernist writer came from a family of wealthy German Jewish immigrants, who
unfortunately passed away. Her mother died of cancer in 1888, and her father, a
wealthy and known merchant, passed in 1891. When Gertrude was still a young
child, her family moved from Pennsylvania and went back to Europe. Stein spent her
first years in Vienna and later in Paris. In the year of 1879, she went back to America,
and settled in Oakland, California. Her brother Leo is one of her greatest influences.
Since, of all brothers, they are the closest, when he decided to leave Baltimore to
enroll at Harvard, Stein decide to come along with no sign of hesitation. Because of
Harvard s policy to not allow women, Stein enrolled at the Harvard Annex, the
precursor to Radcliffe College, where she studied psychology for four years. Because
of her interest in the subject, Stein decided to pursue the field and went to medical
school, where she began to study at Johns Hopkins in the fall of 1897. With time her
eagerness declined, and her grades dropped. She had a history of depression, as you can
see in her writing from the time, alongside with the disappointment in her studies. She
couldn t see herself in the traditional roles as wife and mother, and there are even some
people who can assure you that she was having homosexual

Uncle Tom s Cabin Inhumane
Harriett Beecher Stowe s 1852 novel Uncle Tom s Cabin revolves around the lives of
several Negro slaves and the struggles they face. The novel, told in a third person point
of view is an incredibly well composed novel with a well rounded; sympathetical feel.
Stowe amazingly starts the novel with an abrupt scene where two slave owners are in
the process of making a transaction; later in the novel you realize that that very
moment was the beginning of what would bring Eliza much misery. In that very
scene, Mr. Shelby makes a deal with Mr. Haley to sell Harry (Eliza s son) and Uncle
Tom. Although Mr. Shelby loves and respects his slaves he is forced into an inhumane
deal because of his financial debt to Mr. Haley. The novel runs through the lives of
several slaves a little boy Harry, his mother, Eliza, his father, George Harris, and Uncle

Using the recurring motifs of Christ figures and the supernatural, the novel goes in a
circuitous loop around the themes of Christian values and the evils of slavery. The
author expresses these moments through Eliza s miraculous leap to freedom across
the Ohio River, George Harris battle of being a slave to finding his family as a free
man, and Uncle Tom s struggle to keep his faith strong through so much mental and
physical anguish. Stowe controls the tone and diction of the story so impeccably; to
the point of tears. Jesus can make a dying bed feel soft as down pillows are, (pg 237)
not only does Stowe include many Bible verses and biblical allusions to show how the
slaves foundation was faith, but she does it so effortlessly that her writing is genuinely

Radical Individualism In America
1) The ideal individualism in America has, in my opinion, mostly come as a result of two
things: the founding ideals of the nation, and the classification of our country as a
melting pot. With our combination of emphasis on natural rights philosophy, that
individual rights should be protected, combined with such ideals in the Declaration of
Independence as the pursuit of happiness, Americans place heavy emphasis in the role of
the individual in ruling, both ruling through governmentand ruling oneself. Additionally,
the ideal of democracythat we are founded on emphasizes government by the people,
which naturally is perceived by many people to mean that the people, through their
diverse interests, can govern while thinking of both themselves... Show more content on

Fundamental rights, such as those found in the Fourth Amendment, are much less likely
to be violated when rights receive the amount of deference that they do in Libertarian
philosophy. However, Libertarianism may actually prove harmful to other rights, such as
many found in the First Amendment, that require the assistance of other people to be
effectively exercised. The strengths and weaknesses of communitarianism are more or
less opposite in some ways to those of libertarianism. Its strength comes in the assurance
of the support of the common good, which helps in the exercise of the rights made
difficult by libertarianism. However, rights which come into conflict with responsibilities
may be more likely to be relinquished in communitarianism. For instance, many people
are highly opposed to participating in war, but some communitarians, such as Hudson,
would support mandatory military service. For these reasons, I would lean slightly more
towards the communitarian side, but not nearly as far as Hudson. I believe that we
definitely need institutional support and more civic engagement, I don t agree with him
that we need civic virtue to the extent of mandatory community or military work, as that
would lean too far and begin to infringe upon the freedom from part of his spectrum,
even if it is supportive of the freedom to

Bitcoin And Its Impact On The Economy
Introduction Vast and rapid improvements to the digital world allow intellectual property
to form the basis for the economy today. (Harris, 1998) Entrepreneurs enter into the
industry exploiting this new source of demand, driven by its large consumer base.
Discovered after E gold, Bitcoin emerged as the new age of digital currency. Its
practicality and benefits led it to catch on quickly as an alternative manner of payment.
(Mullan, 2014) Though not recognized as an official currency, the fact that it is immune
to manipulation of any third party, including central government, attracts potential many
investers and opportunists. On one hand, Bitcoin has made an impact on the productivity
and efficiency of business as it increases mobility and speed of transactions. Conversely,
critics question the validity and sustainability of this innovation, as it rests purely on
consumer confidence and mutual agreement. This essay will examine the Bitcoin and its
impact on the economy; thereafter use theories of economists Schumpeter and Kirzner to
evaluate the entrepreneurship nature of Bitcoin and its sustainability. Bitcoin and Its
Context Bitcoins first emerged in 2009, when Satoshi Nakamoto published its

In the 1830s, during the Presidency of Andrew Jackson, the party assumed its current name. In 1860, the party split over the conflict. From there, the Northern Democrats had nominated Stephen Douglas as their Presidential candidate. The Southern Democrats nominated John C. By 1877, the Democratic Party controlled every southern state. Until the civil rights movement in the 1960 s, the south remained a one party region. Due to the Democratic victories in the south, many Southern Congressmen and Senators were re elected over and over. The dependence and importance of seniority in Congress let Southerners control most of the committees in both houses of congress. Every piece of civil rights legislation was shot down. F.D.R., a Democratic president, rarely challenged the southern majority. In the 1930 s, the House passed a federal anti lynching bill. Even the president emerges from the royal palace, decorated with a sash to represent Mexico, rings a bell three times just as Miguel Hidalgo did on that same day in 1810 to commemorate the beginning of the revolution and to unite Mexico behind the ideals of equality and freedom that Miguel Hidalgo fought for. The reforms only deepened the social prejudices by kicking out the Jesuits (depriving education to the creoles), raising taxes only on the Indians then including the creoles, not allowing Mexicans to dress like Spanish, and finally taking away from the poor entertainment (bullfighting) and cheap alcohol (pulque). The Bourbon reforms ended up most importantly lowering the creoles to minority status. Then Charles IV, who became hated by Spain and her colonies, only enforced the Bourbon reforms; he raised the taxes on the Mexican aristocracy because he would not tax the Spanish. He then decreed the Law of Consolidation of 1804, which ordered the Mexican church to sell its land and give its earnings to the crown also call in most loans it had with creoles and Indians. Napoleon made Charles IV abdicate, and instated Charles son Ferdinand VII, and then quickly replaced Ferdinand VII with his brother Joseph. All of Spain and Mexico was in agreement that Ferdinand VII was their rightful King and that they would reject any decree or representative from the French usurper . Which shows the loyalty Spain and its colonies had to their king. With the social injustices occurring and their constant change in governmental authorities, the people showed they disapproval. Pathology Of The Autonomic Nervous System Introduction In this report, the symptoms of this patient will be diagnosed, and the causes of them discussed with reference to the physiology and pharmacology of the autonomic nervous system. The Autonomic Nervous System The autonomic nervous system (ANS) is the part of the motor division of the peripheral nervous system (PNS) that controls involuntary processes in the body (Wieczorek, 2014). Such functions include control of heart rate, gland activity, smooth muscle contraction and constriction of blood vessels (Biology online.org, 2014). The ANS is divided into two branches, the sympathetic nervous system (SN) and the parasympathetic nervous system (PN). The SN is responsible for the fight or flight response, which results in increased preparedness for vigorous activity in response to exercise or emergency. The PN acts antagonistically to the SN, in that it produces the opposite effects to those of the SN. Under normal circumstances, the PN is dominant, and allows processes such as digestion and defecation to occur, while also conserving energy (Elmhurst.edu, 2014). Most of the visceral organs of the body are innervated by both sympathetic and parasympathetic neurones, with the exceptions being sweat glands and the smooth muscle of blood vessels they are only innervated by sympathetic nerve fibres (Wieczorek, 2014). In the ANS, a number of different neurotransmitters and receptors are present. In both the PN and SN, the neurotransmitter at the ganglia is

The 20th century saw the greatest progression of cancerresearch, with twins being crucial to such studies. Twinstudies were used as an important method in the field of cancer study. • 8. The Voice And Perception Of Women Essay The voice and perception of women have been every changing since the moment that God breathed life into Eve s lungs while still in the Garden of Eden. Though she is not the first woman to ever be written about, there are many that consider her to be the first woman to walk on earth. She was made from Adam s rib and designed to be an extension of him. Eve was to be his companion as he was to be her lord. She is the example that women are supposed to model themselves after, her mistake of eating the forbidden fruit notwithstanding. For centuries, in most literature women have either a limited or nonexistence voice. An idea that the modern womancould not fathom, since her voice now strong, loud, and demanding. It would be easy to take for granted the mountains and valleys her voice had to travel in order to be what it is now. Part of this journey is found in the way women were viewed in Mary Wollstonecraft s A Vindication of the Rights of Woman, John Ruskin s Of Queen s Garden, and Virginia Woolf s A Room of One s Own. Like Eve, other women found on the pages with some exception were only meant to aid and support her male counterparts within the story, just as women were meant to do in real life. Much was not expected of women, other than to be the dutiful daughter and then wife. This was a fact that Romantic female writer, Mary Wollstonecraft took issue with in her essay A Vindication of the Rights of Woman: Contending for the rights of woman, my main argument is built on
  • 9. Comparison of a Play within a Play in Hamlet Essay Even though they are performing the same scene, the two movies are very different in style. First, the shots and lighting are displayed differently to catch the different moods of the movies. In the first movie, the camera stays close to everybody s face. It seems to zoom in on characters that are speaking and does not try to capture the listeners reactions to those who are speaking. Also, the lighting is very dark and the scene is closed in. The background scenery of a castle room is very small and closed in. This makes the room not actually seem like a real castle room because castle rooms are always shown as big, lavish, well kept rooms. Also, when talking to Polonius, Hamlet tries to hide the fact that he is making fun of him, instead of openly insulting him. In this movie, Hamlet is shown to try and flirt with Ophelia, who just acts disgusted with his words. She seems to be trying to play hard to get with him, which does not go with her supposed belief that he is crazy. Hamlet also throws in lines throughout this scene of the go thee to a nunnery speech whenever Ophelia throws a comeback that is too harsh for him. In the actual play, the two directors did not think alike at all. First of all, the second movie totally left out the dumb play. This seems more realistic to what the king does because the king leaves during the death of Gonzolago in the speaking play of both movies, but if the king saw what was going to happen by watching the silent play, then I think he would have gotten nervous as well as guilty right then and would have left the room. Also, the lines that Hamlet says during the middle of the speaking play are yelled out loud in the first movie, going along with the thought that he is crazy. In the second movie, he whispered them to either Ophelia, or the king and queen. Hamlet seems more focused on making the king feel guilty about murdering King Hamlet and showing it on his face to prove the ghost right in the second movie. He seems to say things that would get the king
  • 10. Great Expectations By Charles Dickens Commonly, a novel is either a plot driven novel, a character driven novel, or a mix of the two. In order for a novel to be character driven, it must revolve more around the characters individual thoughts, feelings, and inner struggles, rather than around the quest of the story. Great Expectations, by Charles Dickens, is a characterdriven novel. While the story does have a plot, it is not contingent upon that plot, but rather is reliant upon its characters and their natures. This is evident from the beginning of the novel. From the opening of the novel, it is clear that it is character driven. It opens with an introduction to the main protagonist, Pip, who is a complex character that faces much internal conflict during his development. The reader learns of Pip s past and present conditions as well as his internal struggle. Pip best describes it later as, Scattered wits take a long time picking up, and often, before I had got them well together, they would be dispersed in all directions by one stray thought,... (Dickens 103). It is common for character driven novels to open in such a way where character description comes before plot description. This implies to the reader that the characters are foundational ideas behind the story. Dickens created many characters, and the fact that they are all highly developed indicates character drive. The lives of the different individuals are very intertwined, so that their interactions impact their character development. As Pip

A Research Study On Health Care Evidenced based research is defined as continually using current best evidence based research when decisions have to be made about the patients care or health care (Melnyk, Fineout Overholt, 2005). There is a clinical/medical question that needs to be looked into. The question is researched by searching for information on that question paying close attention to the important reviews and evaluations of the information given (Melnyk, Fineout Overholt, 2005). This requires that you review more than one study in order to get reliable and more dependable results which can lead to a better understanding of the research question (Melnyk, Fineout Overholt, 2005). One example of evidenced based research: A health care professional suggests that a patient who has recently had stomach bleeding take acetaminophen to treat his arthritis pain. The health care professional has done research on this and research has shown that acetaminophen has less risk for stomach bleeds than most of the other regular pain relievers (Ahrq.gov, n. d.). The health professional has performed evidenced based research. All health care providers who utilize evidence based practice uses research evidence, clinical expertise and patient preferences which make up the components of evidenced based research. It may also be beneficial to use the systematic reviews which are the summary of the research results that will give information helps with the evidence based practice process (Ahrq.gov, n. d.). The

Growing up here in such a close knit community, has put me aside from your average high schooler in the best way possible. Nantucket is full of incredible wildlife and conservation land that is so unique it looks untouched. Wintertime, when all the summer people leave, you know everybody on the island. It s literally impossible to drive through town without seeing a familiar face. But by the time summer comes the island explodes with electricity that s unlike anywhere else. Massive yachts pack our tiny harbor and enormous private jets fill the airport on the weekends. Having such a drastic change is something that makes Nantucketso unique. Personally, I don t have a favorite season, Nantucket is perfect year round and that s why I feel so blessed to call it home. When the days are shorter and the water is colder the tourists are driven away, leaving a small community, one of the greatest communities on the planet. So close that when someone dies it can affect the whole island. The best feature Nantucket has to offer is how the locals come together and help others in need. When something happens, news travels fast and everyone knows. Having a small community also makes our sports teams closer, we have no choice but to play together. We spend a lot more time together than other teams, every away game we have to take a boat then a school bus to the game. Doing that gets us more comfortable with each other

Since it says that for Pilates for elder in so many forms of exercise may cause stress or frustration on themselves. So, while staying in shape while reducing the risk of injury that weight bearing exercises may cause, they are more focus on the controlled breathing and quality of movements of the body instead of the boundaries (arms and legs), where the potential for injury is greater. In difference with other forms of exercise, Pilates develops the midrange and gradually works toward the endurance, while maintaining complete control around the joints. To the benefit of older adults, Pilates teaches control and stability in a small range of motion, graduating to a larger range of motion as they gain control and confidence. Pilates also help with a variety of age related weaknesses. Arthritis sufferers benefit because the gentle mid range movements decrease the chance of joints compressing while maintaining the range of motion around them. For sufferers of osteoporosis or stenosis, Pilates can also help. For osteoporosis the simple and standing Pilates leg exercises may increase bone density in both the spine and the hip.

The Internal Production Spaces Of Large Cities This same logic leads not just towards generalized urban agglomeration but to the emergence of multiple dense industrial districts within the metropolis. The internal production spaces of large cities are composed of mosaics of particular kinds of industrial land use focused on localized nodal clusters comprising activities that range from manufacturing to office and service functions. For example, gun and jewellery manufacturing in Birmingham, England; footwear industry of East London; clothing production of New York City; motor vehicle industry of Tokyo; and office functions in modern metropolis illustrate different aspects of the theory of industrial organization and location. They represent especially clear cases of the internal specialization of parts of the production space of the large metropolis. As such, they illustrate both, the generality of the problem of agglomeration and the wide diversity of concrete forms that it can assume under different conjectural circumstances. The metropolis and the neighbourhood can be linked to the Chicago school of urban sociology, which has developed ethnographic studies based on various ethnic neighbourhoods over several decades. • 24. Exact Optimization And Optimization Algorithm Exact optimisation method is the optimisation method that can guarantee to find all optimal solutions. In principle, the optimality of generated solution can be proofed mathematically. Therefore, exact optimisation is also termed as mathematical optimisation. However, exact optimisation approach is impractical usually. The effort of solving an optimisation problem by exact optimisation grows polynomially with the problem size. For example, to solve a problem by brute force approach, the execution time increases exponentially respect to the dimensions of the problem. The idea of applying exact optimisation approach on requirements selection and optimisation is similar with search based requirements optimisation. The only difference is that, instead of using search based optimisation algorithm, the search based requirements selection and optimisation problem is tracked with exact optimisation algorithm. There are three main categories exact optimisations found in the literature. They are Integer linear programming [25], dynamic programming [26], and exhaustive search [27]. Uncertainty is ubiquitous and accompanies all events in the real world. It covers all fields of scientific studies, and is inevitable in many aspects of decision making [28]. The essence of uncertainty is the lack of complete knowledge at the time a decision must be made [7]. Uncertainty arises from different sources in various forms, and complicates and affects decision making [28]. Even worse, it may

NBs would add the Br to the benzylic carbons while FeCl3 and Cl2 is a friedel crafts alkylation and the Cls are added to the compound ortho directing since it can not attack para because there is already a molecule there. PPV can emit light because of its molecular diagram. To illustrate, the cathode and anode, 1,3 butadiene and 1,3,5 hexatriene s molecular orbital diagram are shown below. These diagrams show that the gap between the homo and lumo for 1,3,5 hexatriene is small which means the energy that is emitted would be lower than 1,3 butadiene but the wavelength for 1,3,5 hexatriene is higher. At higher wavelengths, there is less energy which is directly related to if PPV has electron withdrawing or donating groups. For example, BEH PPV, which emits orange red light, has two OR groups (which is an electron donating group) attached to it thus creating lower energy and higher wavelength values. On the other hand, BuEH PPV , a compound that emits a yellow green light, has two carbon chains attached to it, which although is still an electron donating group, is much weaker than OR so the wavelength value is less than BEH PPV, so the energy must be higher. To further increase energy, it is necessary to give PPV more electron withdrawing groups, such as a halogen. Halogens are useful in this reaction because although they are electron withdrawing groups, they still attack ortho/para which allows the electron withdrawing groups to enter in a spot with the least

  • 28. The People Believe About Rastafarians Despite what many people believe about Rastafarians, there are many misunderstandings. Many are set on calling any person that has dreadlocks, or anyone who lives away from the Rasta society. Reggae musicians, weed smokers and Jamaican lingo talkers are in the make beliefs of the Rastafarians. Clearly those exterior references only create a more confusing understanding of Rastafarians. For anyone to call themselves Rasta, one must know everything about their culture. Unlike other religions where all one has to do is accept whatever that religion says without study, one must study the doctrine, the diet, the laws and the strict codes that obey to the Rasta faith. It is seen as a way of life rather than just another religion. Since each... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Garvey s dream of a return to Africa became the Rastafarian dream as well, and some Rastafarians have indeed settled in Ethiopia, Ghana, and Zaire. One of the early impacts who paved the way for the rise of this cult was Marcus Garvey. Garvey lived in New York City, and believed that the black man would never receive fair treatment in a white man s world. He then organized a back to Africa movement that attracted thousands. Which were followers among the poor blacks of certain large city urban areas. Garvey was convicted of mail fraud, and spent time in prison. When he finally returned to his native Jamaica in 1927, Garvey allegedly prophesied that a black king would be crowned in Africa. He also stated through that monarch freedom for dark skin people would be realized eventually. Garvey himself never joined the succeeding religious movement that became known as Rastafarianism. Garvey was even critical of Haile Selassie for leaving Ethiopia during the time of the Italian Fascist occupation. Entirely too many people are caught up on the concept of whether Tafari Makonnen, also known as His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I, was Christ, and whether he was or was not the returning Messiah in the flesh. TECHNICAL INFORMATION SHEET 16 HOW CLAY BRICKS ARE MADE INTRODUCTION Clay bricks are used in a wide range of buildings from housing to factories, and in the construction of tunnels, waterways, bridges etc. Their properties vary according to the purpose for which they are intended, but clays have provided the basic material of construction for centuries. Brick is the oldest manufactured building material, and much of its history is lost in antiquity. The oldest burnt or fired bricks have been found on the sites of the ancient cities of Babylonia, some of which are estimated to be about 6000 years old. Brick is, after all, virtually indestructible. The industry developed on traditional lines, using hand making processes for the most part. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Water can be added here or if it is a dry pan the clay is reduced to dust and water added later. Further crushing takes place through conveyor rollers reducing the clay particles to about 1 2mm. FORMING THE BRICK SHAPE Most bricks are formed by one of two basic processes. Extrusion The clay body is mixed to a fairly stiff texture and is then loaded into an extruder where a worm screw pushes it along a barrel into a vacuum chamber which compresses it through a taper and out through a die. The die is machined to a precise size and shape larger than the finished size of the brick, calculating how much the clay will shrink during the drying and firing process. The clay emerges as a continuous brick shaped column. Initially this is smooth but it can be modified by removing a thin sliver from the top and sides using a taught wire to produce a wiredrag effect or by placing textured rollers over the column to create a rusticated effect or even by blasting the column with sand. The clay column is then cut into single bricks and palletised ready for the dryers or in some factories, are loaded directly onto kiln cars. Extruded bricks are generally perforated and can be solid but cannot be frogged. Soft mud moulding. This covers a number of processes where

Case after case, we have seen religion, misinformation, and ignorance stifle the efforts of those who wish to progress the human race forward. For instance, Galileo was found vehemently suspect of heresy by the Catholic Church for his ideas about the earth s position in the universe and was thusly imprisoned, halting his research. This sort of sciencedenial still occurs today. The denial of scientific evidence is measurably, dangerous, irresponsible, and will have a lasting impact on our future should it continue. I wish to present my case to all walks of life. Whether you are liberal, moderate, or conservative, christian, hindu, or muslim, my message is universal, for everyone, and transcends the boundaries of religious and political ideologies. First I would like to explain what scientific denial is. To do this we must first understand what science is. So what is science? Science, as defined by The Oxford Dictionary, is a noun and means, The intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behavior of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment. The scientific community, however, wishes that people see science as a verb. Science is information that can be tested and improved upon until the information itself accurately depicts and defines something. Take the Big Bang

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It cost around 65 cents for one pound of lemon, and cost 25 cents for 5 gallons of water. Without these three ingredients, the drink will no longer be called lemonade. It is essential that a knife be there to cut the lemon, a cup or a pot for the drink, and a stove pan to heat the drink. Later on, it is necessary to have a blender for the ice. And the last important detail of the juice is the juice squeezer. First off, wash the lemons clean so there won t be any dirt or bacteria on the lemon. Use the knife and cut the lemon in half so the juice can be easily squeezed out of. If you desire more juice from the lemon, it is a good way to put the lemon in the microwave first for around 10 to 15 seconds. After cutting the lemon and squeezing about 2 cups of juice into the cup or pot, add around 6 cups of water. After adding water to the cup, add 1 and a half cup of sugar to the juice and water. The most important thing to remember is that the ratio of juice, sugar and water makes lemonade great not too sweet, not too tart. I like 6 cups of water to 2 cups juice and 2 cups sugar. Adjust it to suit yourself. Also, don t forget how great hot lemonade tastes in the winter when you have a sore throat. You can freeze the lemon/sugar syrup for later use. After all said and done with the first process, add the juice in the pan and heat it on the stove. Let it heat up till vapor appears. This causes the heat to reduce

The novel, told in a third person point of view is an incredibly well composed novel with a well rounded; sympathetical feel. Stowe amazingly starts the novel with an abrupt scene where two slave owners are in the process of making a transaction; later in the novel you realize that that very moment was the beginning of what would bring Eliza much misery. In that very scene, Mr. Shelby makes a deal with Mr. Haley to sell Harry (Eliza s son) and Uncle Tom. The author expresses these moments through Eliza s miraculous leap to freedom across the Ohio River, George Harris battle of being a slave to finding his family as a free man, and Uncle Tom s struggle to keep his faith strong through so much mental and physical anguish. Radical Individualism In America 1) The ideal individualism in America has, in my opinion, mostly come as a result of two things: the founding ideals of the nation, and the classification of our country as a melting pot. With our combination of emphasis on natural rights philosophy, that individual rights should be protected, combined with such ideals in the Declaration of Independence as the pursuit of happiness, Americans place heavy emphasis in the role of the individual in ruling, both ruling through governmentand ruling oneself. Additionally, the ideal of democracythat we are founded on emphasizes government by the people, which naturally is perceived by many people to mean that the people, through their diverse interests, can govern while thinking of both themselves... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Fundamental rights, such as those found in the Fourth Amendment, are much less likely to be violated when rights receive the amount of deference that they do in Libertarian philosophy. However, Libertarianism may actually prove harmful to other rights, such as many found in the First Amendment, that require the assistance of other people to be effectively exercised. The strengths and weaknesses of communitarianism are more or less opposite in some ways to those of libertarianism. Its strength comes in the assurance of the support of the common good, which helps in the exercise of the rights made difficult by libertarianism. However, rights which come into conflict with responsibilities may be more likely to be relinquished in communitarianism. For instance, many people are highly opposed to participating in war, but some communitarians, such as Hudson, would support mandatory military service. For these reasons, I would lean slightly more towards the communitarian side, but not nearly as far as Hudson. I believe that we definitely need institutional support and more civic engagement, I don t agree with him that we need civic virtue to the extent of mandatory community or military work, as that would lean too far and begin to infringe upon the freedom from part of his spectrum, even if it is supportive of the freedom to

(Harris, 1998) Entrepreneurs enter into the industry exploiting this new source of demand, driven by its large consumer base. Discovered after E gold, Bitcoin emerged as the new age of digital currency. Its practicality and benefits led it to catch on quickly as an alternative manner of payment. (Mullan, 2014) Though not recognized as an official currency, the fact that it is immune to manipulation of any third party, including central government, attracts potential many investers and opportunists. On one hand, Bitcoin has made an impact on the productivity and efficiency of business as it increases mobility and speed of transactions. Conversely, critics question the validity and sustainability of this innovation, as it rests purely on consumer confidence and mutual agreement. This essay will examine the Bitcoin and its impact on the economy; thereafter use theories of economists Schumpeter and Kirzner to evaluate the entrepreneurship nature of Bitcoin and its sustainability. Bitcoin and Its Context Bitcoins first emerged in 2009, when Satoshi Nakamoto published its specification, in a cryptography mailing list. (Bitcoin.org, 2014) Bitcoins are seen as digital tokens used as electronic versions of cash.
