Langston Hughes Analysis
Racial inequality through the eyes of Langston Hughes
According to Biography, James Mercer Langston Hughes is considered to be an African American
poet who is college educated and comes from a middle class family (Langston Hughes Biography). He
attended college in New York City and became influential during the Harlem Renaissance (Langston
Hughes Biography). Although Hughes was a talented writer, he faced some challenges early on and it
was stated that his early work was roundly criticized by many black intellectuals for portraying what
they thought to be an unattractive view of black life (Langston Hughes. American Poet). They
believed that his work helps the spread the stereotypes of African Americans. Hughes, more than any
other black poet or writer, recorded faithfully the nuances of black life and its frustrations (Langston
Hughes. American Poet). Langston Hughes s poems The Negro Mother , Let America be America
Again and The Weary Blues were influenced by his life during the Harlem Renaissance and the racial
inequality experienced in the late 1920s through the 1960s.
The speaker in the The Negro Mother is an African American woman who makes a promise to her
children that she will be with them always in spirit as they fight for the same rights as whites. She
says, For I will be with you till no white brother / Dares keep down the children of the Negro Mother
(49 50). She wanted her children to fight for equal rights regardless of the barriers and

Inequality In Australia
Distribution of Income Economic journalist Chelsea Gwynne investigates Australia s distribution of
income and its impact on the overall standard of living. Income distribution sits at the top of the
political agenda as Inequality between those with the most and those with the least wealth in Australia
is on the rise. Despite consistent public support for reducing inequality in the distribution of income,
the government is seeking to reduce income support. In fact, in recent months the Liberal government
has begun to argue that inequality is not just unavoidable, but also beneficial. Rather than use the
welfare system to redistribute income, the government is seeking to ensure that welfare payments
grow at a significantly slower rate than wages ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus inequality may have a generally slowing effect on economic growth (Holmes, 2014). A number
of economists have argued that inequality leads to economic instability. One mechanism by which this
happens is that the rich consume a smaller proportion of their income than the poor. They save money,
which people on lower incomes would spend. This leads to a reduction in aggregate demand, which in
turn leads to unemployment (Holmes, 2014). In response, governments take measures to stimulate
demand, such as lowering interest rates. This feeds into asset bubbles for example, unsustainably high
housing prices (OANDA,

Alchemy as the Precursor to Modern Medicine Practices
Chemical medicine originates from medical alchemy of the medieval period. Its nature was
controversial and the acceptance and practice of chemical medicine caused problems with those who
had strong ties with Scholasticism that rooted them in the Galenic tradition and made them wary of
new practices and innovations. The fact that chemical medicine became quite popular thanks to the
sixteenth century Swiss doctor Paracelsus only increased the controversial nature. Paracelsus was well
known for his miraculous cures as well as for rejecting the European medical organization (De Vos,
2007).
Paula De Vos (2007) wrote an article about the introduction of chemical medicine into Mexican
medical practices during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. She shares a case of a Doña
Michaela de Sierra, whose legs had been paralysed for over 25 years but had been cured with a series
of medications that were a combination of traditional Galenic treatments and chemical medicines. This
shift of treatments, from the purely Galenic preparations to the inclusion of chemical medicines, is
validated by the appearance of contemporary pharmaceutical texts in the late seventeenth and early
eighteenth centuries. The change occurred at the same time to a similar alteration in Spain. The
inauguration of Charles II to the throne started an era of acceptance to changes in medical practices.
This medical development happened later in Spain and Mexico compared to other European countries

Analysis Of Mark Twain s A Connecticut Yankee
How to train your human In 1889 Mark Twain s publishes A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur s
Court, which is consider the first science fiction novel. Like most science fiction stories, there is time
travel and futuristic technology messing with the past. Hank Morgan is sent into the past after getting
knocked unconscious by a man named Hercules with a crowbar. After realizing that he is in the past,
he uses his knowledge of an impending solar eclipse to trick the masses into making him the second
most powerful man in society. Being an educated 19th century American gentleman, Hank believes it
is up to him to make Arthurian England more like 19th century American. He tries to change the
beliefs of the people and introduces 19th century technology. In the end, Hank fails in his quest to
completely change everything about Arthurian England. Mark Twain s usage of humor combined with
Hank s attempts to change Arthurian technology, religious beliefs and social structure, exemplifies that
human s beliefs are trained into them, which ultimately demonstrates that society can not change
without the training of a new generation.
Humor is used in order to conceal the weakness in superstitious beliefs. Like many satires, A
Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur s Court does not blatantly announce its theme. Twain uses humor
[to] disarm the reader, but if the reader is careful they can see the darker sides of the humor (Berkove
243). The main catalyst for humors is the famous magician

When using metaphors, Dance Boys are usually braggers or show offs, which they describe as
ukudragona boasting. Stich explains the word ukudragona is about a fire breathing dragon. For Dance
Boys, dragon fire is the ability to boast about oneself, especially one s socioeconomic status. The first
example shows this type of boasting when Themba, Pano and Sibusiso use skinny jeans to talk about
physical differences within the group. The example here draws to attention the interrelated role of
space (the township setting), language practice (tsotsitaal) and objects (skinny jeans), that is to say the

Women In Arthurian Mythology
Arthurian legends may seem to only depict knights in shining armor saving damsels in distress or
powerful kings with queens sitting idly by their sides, but upon closer inspection, those women were
not as delicate as initially portrayed. In fact, there were many influential women who played critical
roles in the men s decisions. Significant ones included the Lady of the Lake, the moon goddess,
Morgan Le Fay, the all powerful fairy, and Guinevere, the mere mortal that everybody envied because
of her beauty. All three were beautiful enchantresses characterized by being shrouded in mystery,
refusing to reveal the true intentions behind their deliberate actions. Yet behind each, there were
complex backgrounds of where they came from and how they came to be.
The Lady of the Lake was a hooded figure so shrouded by mystery, her name is not even known to
this day. Some speculated names were Nimue, Vivien, or even Morgan Le Fay. She was said to be a

In Cunneware, it meant female wisdom and in Welsh it meant white enchantress. Guinevere was the
daughter of King Leodegrance but was sent off to get married to King Arthur. Her love for Arthur was
said to have everything but passion which was why she took up a lover who was also Arthur s best
friend and best knight, Lancelot. This affair lasted for many years, but not without suspicion from
others, until Arthur stopped turning a blind and reluctantly sentenced her to being burned at the stake.
In the nick of time, Lancelot saved her from a horrible death and leaves her to lock herself in the
Tower of London where she wore the nun s veil and where she was supposedly buried. Guinevere was
a symbol of sovereignty. All who wanted to take power had abducted her before their reign and had
become rulers while all that lost her lost their power. For example, this happened to Arthur, Lancelot,
and Mordred. This is one of the reasons why many people blamed Arthur s downfall on

The Lymphatic System
The health of our lymphatic system is vital to the health of our whole body. This system is critical to

This edema would causes tissue destruction or death, the problem is avoided by the presence of
lymphatic vessels that act as drains to collect the excess fluid and return it to the venous blood just
before it reaches the heart.
Manual lymphatic drainage is a massage focused on the moving and draining of the lymph from the
extremities into the nodes for processing and ultimately elimination. The natural movements of the
body, such as walking, standing, deep breathing and rigorous exercise all aid the lymphatic process
but correct massage more fully augments the finer workings of the lymph system. As there is not a
pump in the system (like the heart in the circulatory system) the lymph is moved through the vessels
when the surrounding skeletal muscle contracts, (physical activity). If there is a reduction of activity
or if the system is overloaded through diet or pollutants, the lymph system becomes stagnated and the
body is more prone to infection.
Manual lymphatic drainage massage can be performed in a variety of ways. There is lymphatic pump
manipulation done with a machine. There is superficial lymphatic drainage focusing on the vessels
and the lymph lying just below the surface of the skin, and there is deep tissue lymphatic drainage. In
a deep tissue massage, the movements are applied from the extremities toward the heart stimulating
the lymphatic circulation. While the blood is being returned to the heart

Buyers in telecom industry can be classified in two categories depending on the type of consumers,
Individual and Enterprise Customers. Enterprise customers are organizations like banks, IT
companies. There are multiple players in the telecom industry like Airtel with variable product
offerings and prices which gives buyers many options to select operators and thus increase the
bargaining leverage.
Different aspects of bargaining powers of buyers which affect the profitability of Airtel are:
i. Switching Costs: The cost of a new connection is very low and sometimes subscribers obtain new
connections for free. The introduction of Mobile Number portability (MNP) has increased the buyer
power of switching to other service providers very easily. Airtel faces a higher bargaining power of
buyer due to low switching costs.
ii. Buyer Competition: Majority of the revenues for Airtel is generated by enterprise customers who

Heating For Heating Building Or House
Many technologies are available for heating building or house. Boilers are pressure vessels intended to
heat water or deliver steam which can then be used to give space heating and additionally benefit
water heating to a building. In most business building heating applications, the heating source in the
boiler is a natural gas fired burner. Oil fired burners and electric resistance radiators can be used too.
Steam is favored over heated water in a few applications, counting absorption cooling, kitchens,
laundries, sterilizers, and steam driven hardware. Boilers have a few qualities that have made them a
typical component of buildings. They have a long life, can accomplish efficiencies up to 95% or more,
give a powerful strategy for heating a building and on account of steam systems, require little or no
pumping energy. Otherwise, fuel costs can be significant, regular maintenance is required, and if
support is deferred, repair can be exorbitant. Boilers are regularly one of the biggest energy users in a
building. For consistently a boiler system goes unattended, boiler expenses can increase around 10%.
Boiler operation and maintenance are in this way a decent place to begin when searching for
approaches to reduce energy use and save money.
1.1 How boilers work Both gas and oil fired boilers use controlled burning of the fuel to heat water.

People have different opinions and ideas regarding the issue on death penalty. In fact, this death

people may say that they are not in favor of this penalty for it is cruel. People may say that death

With the setting of the sun
In F. Scott Fitzgerald s novel, The Great Gatsby, there is a constant feeling of movement and the desire
to get away. Nick, Gatsby, Wilson,
Tom and Daisy all move, or have the intention of moving. Not only does this movement seem to
foreshadow events in the book, but it also seems to lead to the conclusion that society as a whole in
the 1920 s was rather unstable and was undergoing constant change. Not all the characters move in the
same way, and this shows how different their backgrounds and lifestyles are. The main movement
seems to be from west to east. Throughout the decades man is said to be progressing through the steps

Nick says, [h]e talked a lot about the past and
I gathered that he wanted to recover something, some idea of himself perhaps, that had gone into
loving Daisy. (117) This shows how time could never change his dream, and that Gatsby feels that if
he talks about the past then he will be able to change the future for the better. The sun also stands for
power and greatness, which made Jay Gatsby shine right through Jimmie Gatz. He starts of engulfed
in darkness, as his dream does not exist. From there he seems to be obsessed with this reverie, and
effectively kills off Jimmie Gatz and creates Jay Gatsby.
This new personality is formed when the sun rises, bathing him in light. Jay Gatsby sprang from his
Platonic conception of himself (104), and even with this change he still believed that the rock of the
world was founded securely on a fairy s wing. (105) This new light blinds the people that look at him,
and covers up his old self. Although it covers him, some people like Mr. Sloane see him as
Jimmie Gatz, and are disgusted by it. The first time Tom meets Gatsby is when he, Mr. Sloane and a
young woman stop by his house while out riding. Gatsby tells Tom that he knows Daisy, to which
Tom states later, I may be old fashioned in my ideas but women run around too much these days to
suit me. They meet all kinds of crazy fish. (110)

Community Revitalization As A Research Problem Essay
Research Problem
Community revitalization as a research problem can be an inspiring endeavor. Community
revitalization itself and the change management approaches used can bring about significant change
that can yield extraordinary results to areas for many years to come. The current community change
effort, Impact Lufkin, in Lufkin, TX is an example of this type of work in action. Beames (2016)
states that the Impact Lufkin group was started by the T.L.L. Temple Foundation and is made up of
several other community leaders. Beames (2016) continues that the goal is to help develop the area
that has been neglected by many and help bring services in that many residents have trouble accessing.
Appreciative inquiry (Ai) has emerged as a method for change management and is a technique that has
garnered much buzz over time. It appears that appreciative inquiry in action, focusing and analyzing
on what is working well in a situation and then multiplying that, as a concept can work well in
community revitalization efforts. Impact Lufkin is an excellent example of this concept in progress at
the moment. Beames (2016) states that the group is being assisted by interns with the Stephen F.
Austin State University School of Social Work. Beames (2016) continues in that the interns are
listening to citizens and are trying to make their vision a reality.
But how exactly does Appreciative inquiry work as a research approach for social work? Bellinger and

Majoritarian And Effective American Voting System
Voting systems are the set of procedures that determine who will run our local, state, and federal
governments. These procedures include how the ballot is structured, how the vote is casted, how the
votes are counted, and how the winners are selected. Although there are a variety of ways a voting
system can be structured to enable citizen authorization of authority there are two dominant voting
systems in Western democracies: plurality system and proportional representation. Douglas J. Amy in
(2000) and G. Bingham Powell in (2000) present a list of criteria that can be used to determine which
voting system is preferential. In this paper I will consider Accountability, High Quality Campaigns,
and Stable and Effective Government as the criteria for evaluating voting systems, and evaluate the
degree to which majoritarian and proportional representation systems fulfill these criteria. In the
majoritarian vision of citizen control, concentrated power is necessary. Majoritarian elections act as ...

In a majoritarian system, voters are able to easily identify which representative they should be holding
accountable when unacceptable actions are being taken. This is possible because the majoritarian
system uses single member districts in which members of the legislature are elected one at a time in
small districts (Amy 29). It also important to note that candidates are elected based on who receives
the most votes. This means that it is easy for constituents to not only identify which representative was
elected to serve them but to hold them accountable as well. The same can be said about political
parties, because of the two party system it is very likely that one party will win the majority of the
seats in the legislature, which means that voters will know who to blame for unacceptable actions

Analysis Paper 2
The Price One Must Pay
According to Samuel Johnson, Revenge is an act of passion; vengeance of justice. Injuries are
revenged; crimes are avenged. Medea is an ancient Greek tragedy written by Euripides. It was first
produced in 431 BC and it is based on the myth of Jason and Medea. The themes prevalent throughout
the play is revenge and loss of innocence. It symbolizes how the act of revenge can cause you to
betray your loved ones because of your pride and selfishness. Your actions whether it s premeditated
or not, carry consequences that must be recognized. Even though in the play Medea, the characters
lack any self conscious recognition for their own ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If their husband decides to divorce them they can be easily discarded without a home. But while
together they must endure the pains of childbirth, and they are kept from participating in any sort of
public life. Unlike men, who can engage in business, sport, and war. That why Medea believes that
Jason should suffer for the suffering he has inflicted upon her as a woman. Especially since Jason
banish her and her children from Corinth.
How can you claim that you love someone but banish them to become homeless and helpless? Your
own flesh and blood. That shows how children nor wife were important in ancient Greek society.
Children were born just so that the can take over the fathers place and take care of them when they get
old. Even though the parents don t raise the child, the nurse does.
The most controversial character is Medea, she chose to murder her own two children just to cause
pain to Jason. The children represent innocence and purity. Children are represented as free of any sins
or impurities because their minds do not have the capacity to fully comprehend evil as adults do. The
nurse is fearful for the boy s life, so she tries her best to keep them out of cite from their mother. The
nurse wishes Medea would leave the kids out of her and Jason problem they are not the ones to blame.
But the nurse also states that she was brought up willful and powerful in a great house with no rules.

The Decline Of Civility Within The Workplace
The question was asked, Do manners matter? The Golden Rule states: do to others what you would
want them to do to you. The decline of civility in the workplace has been on the rise. Morals are still
at the conclusion that this isn t at any value of importance (Martin). Society assumes that one is born
with etiquettes and not taught. Judith Martin states that the Original Innocence is the idea that people
are born naturally good but corrupted by civilization (Martin). According to the Merriam Webster
dictionary, the definition of civility is polite, reasonable, and respectful behavior. Incivility is an issue
for many. Researcher Jeannie Trudel of Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion says that Seventy five
percent to eighty percent of people have experienced incivility (Mattice). Employees, bosses, and even
family members are affected by one s reaction to incivility. The lack of discipline and the absences of
manners is slowly creating a problem in today s work society due to need of communication (Martin).
Today s work society has targeted hate for one another. It is typically causing many to regret their
choice of profession; constantly, dreading the idea to perform to the expected. If we are going to
eliminate the cause of rude behavior and the effect of rude behavior in the workplace, each company
should evaluate their policy s, discuss proper expectations, and provide trainings. The cause of uncivil
actions can take a dramatic toll on any workplace.

The Failure Of Power In George Orwell s Animal Farm
No one knows for sure how many people were murdered during Stalin s Great Purge, but estimates
put the figure at more than 1 million. Over the course of his reign, Joseph Stalin has executed and
imprisoned perceived threats to his power. During the three public trails of former prominent
Communist Party leaders, and plenty of other private trails held, the defendants have been charged
under pretenses fabricated by the NKVD, the Soviet Secret Police. The defendants have fully
confessed to their crimes in court after facing intense beatings, sleep deprivation, and threats to arrest
and execute their families. However, the West has continued to see Stalin and the Soviet Union
favorably. This has urged George Orwell to write Animal Farm so he can expose the truth about the
Soviet regime. In Animal Farm, the author George Orwell uses the manipulation, and fear of the
leaders and the naivety, and loyalty of the followers to contribute to the theme of loss of freedom and
equality in order to show how power can lead to corruption. Orwell uses the manipulation of the
leaders to contribute to the theme of loss of freedom and equality in order to show how power can lead
to corruption. As stated in the text, The windmill however, had not after all been used for generating
electrical power. It was used for milling corn, and brought in a handsome money profit (Orwell 129).
This is a prime example of how the pigs capitalized on how miserable the animals were. If Napoleon

Power In Robert Bolt s Play A Man For All Seasons
People in positions of power are always under scrutiny by those they rule. Despite their moves being
watched closely, rulers often have a deep seated inability to compromise their beliefs, thus corrupting
the government. In this day and age, it is far easier for the public to combat this ignorant worldview,
but in the time of King Henry VIII, this was nearly impossible. It took men in other positions of power
to stand against the king s will, but even this fared poorly for the dissenters. In Robert Bolt s play A
Man for All Seasons, Sir Thomas More was beheaded for his decision to remain silent on the matter of
the King s marriage. The leaders of England value More and view him as a man for all seasons, but
only while his morals match their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Opposing kings believe More supports their individual cause, yet neither is correct. The English
government brings More to trial because of his vague answers in response to the matter of Henry VII s
divorce. More s failure to speak his mind on the subject forces everyone around him to draw
conclusions based on their knowledge of his faith and loyalty to the crown. It is within human nature
to judge others, and the less information provided, the wilder the inferences become. In this way, both
Henry VII and the king of Spain believed More to be a man for all seasons, but in reality, his morals
prevented him from ever being a man for all seasons. It takes a rare man to embody all the necessary
traits to be prepared for any situation, good or

Stereotypes and Stereotyping
A Stereotypical Female in I m Your Horse in the Night
Luisa Valenzuela s short story titled I m Your Horse in the Night is a thought provoking piece of
literature. The story is written in such a way that the reader must interpret what is meant by what is
being said. Although it is easy to go into depth when describing the elements of this piece, the
storyline is rather simple. The story contains an assortment of characters; with those characters being
Chiquita, Beto, Andres, and several policemen.
The time and location are unknown. The telephone tells us that the time period is of somewhat modern
times, and the Spanish ethnicity would most likely relate to the setting being that of a Spanish
colonization. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The man in which Chiquita calls Beto would also be considered a major character. Even though the
man is never actually present in the story physically, we hear about him extensively through the
thoughts and words of Chiquita. The minor character roles would fall upon Andres, and the police
officers. Andres might not even qualify as being a valid character, considering that Chiquita was not
even sure whether it was him or not on the telephone that morning. The police men are a somewhat
important factor to this story, but they are not described as round characters and therefore show no
verisimilitude.
The title of the story, I m Your Horse in the Night, is relating to a line on the record which Beto
brought with him in Chiquita s dream. She tells Beto that she will be his horse in the night, meaning
that she will always be there for him.
While reading this story, it helps to apply the elements of new criticism.
One opposition that was quite distinct, was the fact that Chiquita is in love with this man who is never
there for her. She fantasizes about him, making it seem as though he would be an ideal mate, when he
obviously is not. Chiquita appears to be living off on her own. It seems as though she is almost
isolating herself from the rest of the world. The fact that she sees this wretched man as the one she
loves, would be a symbol of low self esteem. Perhaps he is the first

How Did The Treaty Of Versailles Treaty Affect Germany
On June 28, 1919, Germany and the Allies signed The Treaty of Versailles. The treaty established
strict punitive damages in Germany. However, Germany was greatly affected by three significant
cases.
The first case was the physical result of the Treaty. Germany suffered a major territorial loss, for
example, the provinces of Alsace and Lorraine were returned to France and it was not only their
territories but Germany itself. Therefore Germany lost over one million square miles of land.
The second case is about the economic impact of the Treaty. The Treaty of Versailles criticized
Germany for begging the war. This makes Germany responsible for the cost of the war. Reparations
would be paid monthly and would total some £6,600 million. In addition,

Music s Influence On The Anti Apartheid Movement
Music s Influence on the Anti Apartheid Movement
In 1948, the white government of South Africa began creating one of the most brutal systems of racial
segregation the world has ever known. Under the minority rule of Afrikaners a Southern African
ethnic group descending from Dutch settlers in the 17th century a unique system of racial separation
and white supremacy called apartheid was created and legislated against the majority black
inhabitants. Apartheid is an Afrikaans word which translates to the state of being apart. Lasting from
1948 until the early 1990s, an exploitative and unjust political system was imposed on the black native
people of Africa. Dutch and British colonists dispossessed them of their homes, families, and ... Show

According to the Anti Apartheid Movement Archives, The system was kept in place by a battery of
repressive laws, under which people could be detained indefinitely without trial. Despite this injustice,
the people of South Africa continually fought back against their oppressors. Many forms of resistance
were utilized mass protests, armed resistance, strikes and boycotts in order to dethrone the National
Party. The resistance began as community wide gatherings to protest the National Party, however as
the tactics of the tyrannical white government developed through violent means, the Africans peaceful
protests escalated to bloody rioting. The apartheid government is responsible for over 7,000 black
deaths during the 46 years it was in power. What many people do not know, however, is that
throughout all of apartheid, a single factor continually gave Africans the strength and courage to keep
fighting for freedom: music. Music has historically been a large part of black culture, and from
freedom songs to funeral processions, the people of Africa used music to come together and unite
against the despotic government. This music could be found in different cultural avenues such as
chants at protests, funeral processions, freedom songs, and airtime on local radio stations. After
decades of pain and

The main difference between the federal budget and the state and local budgets is the issue of a
monetary deficit, in which expenditures in the budget exceeds revenues that were estimated. State and
local governments are required to balance their budgets. The federal government is allowed to borrow
money to meet its obligations and have a deficit. The federal government collects the most tax
revenue, but state and local governments have a greater range of revenue options for funding their
budgets. The federal government relies mainly on income taxes, capital gains and Social Security
taxes. State and local governments collect sales taxes, taxes on fuel, property taxes and fees from
special licenses and permits. Also, many state and local ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The next largest portion at almost 10% of the budget is allotted to Criminal Justice. In the state of
Georgia we have 159 state funded prisons that house over 57,000 inmates (Ga Prison Fact Sheet). This
also includes over 13,000 state employees that run these facilities (AJC Prison). Each inmate takes
approximately $51 a day. This includes housing, meals and general day to day activities (Ga Prison
Fact Sheet). Forth largest in the Georgia budget is for Debt Services. Debt services include the
payments of the principal and interest of any general or long term obligation that the state has accrued.
This amount is over $64 million in 2012. Lastly, the fifth largest budget allocation is for
transportation. Transportation encompasses road repair, improving the efficiency of the movement of
goods, construction of new roads and Highways and reducing congestion within the state. Along with
these services, the salaries and benefits of their employees are figured into this section of the budget
(Georgia Budget site). Figure 3: Local Budget (Cobb County Budget). This budget shows the

exciting places to visit and beautiful sites to see. Pigeon Forge is famous for the Dollywood

soaring eagle or they can brave the rapids on a water raft. If death defying rides are too much to
handle, then visit one of the many comedy shows the town has to offer. The comedy shows are full of
side splitting jokes, hilarious skits, and small animals dancing around in funny costumes. At these

A Worker Undertaking Call Centre Training
it might be said: I SUMMARY Paul, a worker undertaking call centre training with Telecall at the
company s 10 storey building was injured on the 1st of September 2015 in an attempted murder
accident and you have sought my advice on this matter. I advise that there is a serious risk that the
company will be held liable on account of owing a duty of care to Paul and other employees. II
BACKGROUND, FACTS AND EVIDENCE A personnel hire company engaged Paul for call centre
training with host employer TeleCall. David, another worker who was undertaking the same training
course, absented himself from the training room and was found wandering around the rooftop balcony
by Suzie. Suzie is an employee of TeleCall and she noted that David ... Show more content on

Furthermore, in novel situations they will utilize the salient features approach (which includes the
foreseeability of harm to persons and proximity) to make a determination on the matter. Other key
salient features that need to be assessed are: vulnerability of the plaintiff to harm, the defendant s
control over the risk of harm, the indeterminacy of liability and the need for coherence. B Nature of
the Relationship Between the Parties Paul was originally engaged by a personnel hire company to
undertake training provided by TeleCall for work in the TeleCall call centre. This means that Paul is
not an employee of TeleCall and as such his relationship with the firm does not fall within an
established category of duty. Therefore, a duty of care can only be established on the basis of the
salient features approach identified in Sullivan v Moody. C Reasonable Foreseeability A duty of care
cannot be established solely on the basis of reasonable foreseeability, but it is an important
consideration. At the duty stage, the test of reasonable foreseeability does not to ask if the injury itself
is foreseeable. Rather, the focus at this stage is whether careless conduct of any kind by the defendant,
might result in the plaintiff or class of

It was amid a midyear break when the inverter at my place required an overhauling which was
expected by organization s arrangement. In any case, the organization lost a track of its past records
that demonstrated the third due administration. After a great deal of bothers and protests the issue was
settled. Notwithstanding, this occurrence made me end with that organization and joining another. A
large number of companies are unable to keep up the track of their administrations which causes them
a big time loss.
Each business plans to build its deal breaking its past records. Furthermore, the best way to do it is to
draw in new clients as well as to keep up them after deals. An organization that prioritizes its
customers will always be referred. The primary purpose behind the decrease of offers in an
organization is its absence of duty to give appropriate administrations to its clients. An enlisted
grumbling is here and there which is sometimes not attended by the organization which prompts
expanded grievances among the shoppers prompting decrease in the sales. Sometimes the organization
is not ready to keep up the record of the administrations of a client which prompts a more prominent
perplexity in the association. Another issue related to less customer satisfaction is the inability to solve
the problem on time.
One solution to this problem is to

  • 2. Langston Hughes Analysis Racial inequality through the eyes of Langston Hughes According to Biography, James Mercer Langston Hughes is considered to be an African American poet who is college educated and comes from a middle class family (Langston Hughes Biography). He attended college in New York City and became influential during the Harlem Renaissance (Langston Hughes Biography). Although Hughes was a talented writer, he faced some challenges early on and it was stated that his early work was roundly criticized by many black intellectuals for portraying what they thought to be an unattractive view of black life (Langston Hughes. American Poet). They believed that his work helps the spread the stereotypes of African Americans. Hughes, more than any other black poet or writer, recorded faithfully the nuances of black life and its frustrations (Langston Hughes. American Poet). Langston Hughes s poems The Negro Mother , Let America be America Again and The Weary Blues were influenced by his life during the Harlem Renaissance and the racial inequality experienced in the late 1920s through the 1960s. The speaker in the The Negro Mother is an African American woman who makes a promise to her children that she will be with them always in spirit as they fight for the same rights as whites. She says, For I will be with you till no white brother / Dares keep down the children of the Negro Mother (49 50). She wanted her children to fight for equal rights regardless of the barriers and ... • 3. Inequality In Australia Distribution of Income Economic journalist Chelsea Gwynne investigates Australia s distribution of income and its impact on the overall standard of living. Income distribution sits at the top of the political agenda as Inequality between those with the most and those with the least wealth in Australia is on the rise. Despite consistent public support for reducing inequality in the distribution of income, the government is seeking to reduce income support. In fact, in recent months the Liberal government has begun to argue that inequality is not just unavoidable, but also beneficial. Rather than use the welfare system to redistribute income, the government is seeking to ensure that welfare payments grow at a significantly slower rate than wages ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thus inequality may have a generally slowing effect on economic growth (Holmes, 2014). A number of economists have argued that inequality leads to economic instability. One mechanism by which this happens is that the rich consume a smaller proportion of their income than the poor. They save money, which people on lower incomes would spend. This leads to a reduction in aggregate demand, which in turn leads to unemployment (Holmes, 2014). In response, governments take measures to stimulate demand, such as lowering interest rates. This feeds into asset bubbles for example, unsustainably high housing prices (OANDA, ... • 4. Alchemy as the Precursor to Modern Medicine Practices Chemical medicine originates from medical alchemy of the medieval period. Its nature was controversial and the acceptance and practice of chemical medicine caused problems with those who had strong ties with Scholasticism that rooted them in the Galenic tradition and made them wary of new practices and innovations. The fact that chemical medicine became quite popular thanks to the sixteenth century Swiss doctor Paracelsus only increased the controversial nature. Paracelsus was well known for his miraculous cures as well as for rejecting the European medical organization (De Vos, 2007). Paula De Vos (2007) wrote an article about the introduction of chemical medicine into Mexican medical practices during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. She shares a case of a Doña Michaela de Sierra, whose legs had been paralysed for over 25 years but had been cured with a series of medications that were a combination of traditional Galenic treatments and chemical medicines. This shift of treatments, from the purely Galenic preparations to the inclusion of chemical medicines, is validated by the appearance of contemporary pharmaceutical texts in the late seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries. The change occurred at the same time to a similar alteration in Spain. The inauguration of Charles II to the throne started an era of acceptance to changes in medical practices. This medical development happened later in Spain and Mexico compared to other European countries ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Analysis Of Mark Twain s A Connecticut Yankee How to train your human In 1889 Mark Twain s publishes A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur s Court, which is consider the first science fiction novel. Like most science fiction stories, there is time travel and futuristic technology messing with the past. Hank Morgan is sent into the past after getting knocked unconscious by a man named Hercules with a crowbar. After realizing that he is in the past, he uses his knowledge of an impending solar eclipse to trick the masses into making him the second most powerful man in society. Being an educated 19th century American gentleman, Hank believes it is up to him to make Arthurian England more like 19th century American. He tries to change the beliefs of the people and introduces 19th century technology. In the end, Hank fails in his quest to completely change everything about Arthurian England. Mark Twain s usage of humor combined with Hank s attempts to change Arthurian technology, religious beliefs and social structure, exemplifies that human s beliefs are trained into them, which ultimately demonstrates that society can not change without the training of a new generation. Humor is used in order to conceal the weakness in superstitious beliefs. Like many satires, A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur s Court does not blatantly announce its theme. Twain uses humor [to] disarm the reader, but if the reader is careful they can see the darker sides of the humor (Berkove 243). The main catalyst for humors is the famous magician ... • 10. Women In Arthurian Mythology Arthurian legends may seem to only depict knights in shining armor saving damsels in distress or powerful kings with queens sitting idly by their sides, but upon closer inspection, those women were not as delicate as initially portrayed. In fact, there were many influential women who played critical roles in the men s decisions. Significant ones included the Lady of the Lake, the moon goddess, Morgan Le Fay, the all powerful fairy, and Guinevere, the mere mortal that everybody envied because of her beauty. All three were beautiful enchantresses characterized by being shrouded in mystery, refusing to reveal the true intentions behind their deliberate actions. Yet behind each, there were complex backgrounds of where they came from and how they came to be. Guinevere was the daughter of King Leodegrance but was sent off to get married to King Arthur. This affair lasted for many years, but not without suspicion from others, until Arthur stopped turning a blind and reluctantly sentenced her to being burned at the stake. In the nick of time, Lancelot saved her from a horrible death and leaves her to lock herself in the Tower of London where she wore the nun s veil and where she was supposedly buried. Guinevere was a symbol of sovereignty. All who wanted to take power had abducted her before their reign and had become rulers while all that lost her lost their power. The natural movements of the body, such as walking, standing, deep breathing and rigorous exercise all aid the lymphatic process but correct massage more fully augments the finer workings of the lymph system. As there is not a pump in the system (like the heart in the circulatory system) the lymph is moved through the vessels when the surrounding skeletal muscle contracts, (physical activity). These questions mainly emerged due to his writing being different from anyone else during that time. Hemmingway s writing was simple and direct unlike other fellow writers. • 14. Heating For Heating Building Or House Many technologies are available for heating building or house. Boilers are pressure vessels intended to heat water or deliver steam which can then be used to give space heating and additionally benefit water heating to a building. In most business building heating applications, the heating source in the boiler is a natural gas fired burner. Oil fired burners and electric resistance radiators can be used too. Steam is favored over heated water in a few applications, counting absorption cooling, kitchens, laundries, sterilizers, and steam driven hardware. Boilers have a few qualities that have made them a typical component of buildings. They have a long life, can accomplish efficiencies up to 95% or more, give a powerful strategy for heating a building and on account of steam systems, require little or no pumping energy. Otherwise, fuel costs can be significant, regular maintenance is required, and if support is deferred, repair can be exorbitant. Boilers are regularly one of the biggest energy users in a building. For consistently a boiler system goes unattended, boiler expenses can increase around 10%. Nick, Gatsby, Wilson, Tom and Daisy all move, or have the intention of moving. Not only does this movement seem to foreshadow events in the book, but it also seems to lead to the conclusion that society as a whole in the 1920 s was rather unstable and was undergoing constant change. Community revitalization itself and the change management approaches used can bring about significant change that can yield extraordinary results to areas for many years to come. The current community change effort, Impact Lufkin, in Lufkin, TX is an example of this type of work in action. Beames (2016) states that the Impact Lufkin group was started by the T.L.L. Beames (2016) continues that the goal is to help develop the area that has been neglected by many and help bring services in that many residents have trouble accessing. Appreciative inquiry (Ai) has emerged as a method for change management and is a technique that has garnered much buzz over time. It appears that appreciative inquiry in action, focusing and analyzing on what is working well in a situation and then multiplying that, as a concept can work well in community revitalization efforts. Impact Lufkin is an excellent example of this concept in progress at the moment. Beames (2016) states that the group is being assisted by interns with the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Social Work. Beames (2016) continues in that the interns are listening to citizens and are trying to make their vision a reality. This is possible because the majoritarian system uses single member districts in which members of the legislature are elected one at a time in small districts (Amy 29). It also important to note that candidates are elected based on who receives the most votes. This means that it is easy for constituents to not only identify which representative was elected to serve them but to hold them accountable as well. The same can be said about political parties, because of the two party system it is very likely that one party will win the majority of the seats in the legislature, which means that voters will know who to blame for unacceptable actions (Amy ... Over the course of his reign, Joseph Stalin has executed and imprisoned perceived threats to his power. During the three public trails of former prominent Communist Party leaders, and plenty of other private trails held, the defendants have been charged under pretenses fabricated by the NKVD, the Soviet Secret Police. The defendants have fully confessed to their crimes in court after facing intense beatings, sleep deprivation, and threats to arrest and execute their families. However, the West has continued to see Stalin and the Soviet Union favorably. This has urged George Orwell to write Animal Farm so he can expose the truth about the Soviet regime. In Animal Farm, the author George Orwell uses the manipulation, and fear of the leaders and the naivety, and loyalty of the followers to contribute to the theme of loss of freedom and equality in order to show how power can lead to corruption. The story contains an assortment of characters; with those characters being Chiquita, Beto, Andres, and several policemen. The time and location are unknown. Even though the man is never actually present in the story physically, we hear about him extensively through the thoughts and words of Chiquita. The minor character roles would fall upon Andres, and the police officers. Andres might not even qualify as being a valid character, considering that Chiquita was not even sure whether it was him or not on the telephone that morning. The police men are a somewhat important factor to this story, but they are not described as round characters and therefore show no verisimilitude. The title of the story, I m Your Horse in the Night, is relating to a line on the record which Beto brought with him in Chiquita s dream. She tells Beto that she will be his horse in the night, meaning that she will always be there for him. While reading this story, it helps to apply the elements of new criticism. One opposition that was quite distinct, was the fact that Chiquita is in love with this man who is never there for her. She fantasizes about him, making it seem as though he would be an ideal mate, when he obviously is not. Chiquita appears to be living off on her own.
