A Essay About Education
1. A Essay About Education
Crafting an essay on the broad and extensive subject of education can be both a challenging and
rewarding endeavor. The difficulty lies not in the scarcity of information, but rather in the
vastness and multifaceted nature of the topic. Education encompasses a myriad of aspects,
including its historical evolution, diverse philosophies, the role of technology, sociocultural
influences, and the ever-evolving pedagogical approaches.
To navigate through this expansive landscape, one must carefully select a focus or thesis, honing
in on a specific aspect or perspective of education. The challenge arises in striking a balance
between depth and breadth, as delving too deeply into one aspect may lead to overlooking the
broader context.
Research becomes a crucial component, requiring the exploration of academic journals, historical
documents, educational theories, and contemporary perspectives. This task demands not only
time but also a discerning eye to filter through the vast amount of information available. The
synthesis of diverse ideas into a cohesive narrative adds another layer of complexity, requiring a
thoughtful and analytical approach to draw meaningful connections.
Moreover, the writer must consider the target audience and purpose of the essay. Is it meant to
inform, persuade, or provoke thought? Tailoring the language and tone accordingly adds another
layer of intricacy.
In the writing process, maintaining coherence and logical flow is essential, ensuring that each
section seamlessly connects to the next. The challenge here is to avoid tangential discussions or
losing sight of the central thesis amidst the wealth of information.
Revision becomes a vital step in refining the essay. The writer must critically evaluate the
structure, clarity, and coherence of their arguments. Ensuring that each paragraph contributes to
the overarching theme while maintaining a captivating and engaging style is no small feat.
In conclusion, composing an essay on education demands a delicate balance between depth and
breadth, rigorous research, thoughtful synthesis, and careful consideration of audience and
purpose. While challenging, the process allows for a profound exploration of a crucial and
dynamic subject that shapes societies and individuals alike.

2. The Realm Of Organizational Change And Development
Essay
In the realm of organizational change and development there is a standard model
that is considered among most organizational development professionals to be the
basic format for planned changed known as the General Model of planned Change.
Essentially what organizational development professionals are dealing with is almost
exclusively centered around planned change. That same type of planned change was
present within the Sunflower Incorporated Company which started their planned
change initiative in early 1989. The technology that the company was looking to
change was the financial reporting system in order to have a new system that is
able to compare sales, cost, and profit margins on a regional basis. The company
decided to open a new position that was specifically targeted at maximizing the
performance of the companies financial goals and they hired a new pricing manager
by the name of Agnes Albanese who was in charge of conducting the internal price
managementinitiative. While her ideas were perceived positively among the internal
executive groups as a whole there was some pushback on the new pricing format. In
Mrs. Albanese attempt to make the financial department more efficient and decided
that all pricing and purchasing decisions should be made on standardized across all
regions of the organization. Secondly, she mandated that all local price increases
higher than 3 percent must also be approved through her and any contracts of local
purchases that were higher
3. Gatsby and Hamlet Essays
Examining Hamlet and The Great Gatsby
1/9/13
According to Roger Lewis, The acquisition of money and love are both part of the
same dream, the will to return to the quintessential unity that exists only at birth and
at death (41). In both William Shakespeare s play, Hamlet, and F. Scott Fitzgeralds
novel, The Great Gatsby, the protagonists are willing to sacrifice all that they have in
order to achieve their unrealistic objectives and ambitions, resulting in their tragic
demises. While there are many themes and concepts relevant to both Hamlet and The
Great Gatsby, their parallels regarding their aspirations stand out for further
evaluation. The concept of sacrificing all that a person has, not limiting to their own
life, is ever ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jay Gatsby spends years of his life involved in illegal activity in order to accumulate
enough wealth to be able to throw many parties, all for a possible chance to see his
love once lost, Daisy. In this, both Jay Gatsby and Prince Hamlet are willing to
sacrifice all that they have, not limited to themselves, in order to achieve their
unrealistic goals. In comparison, Hamlet is content with altering his life and his
current relationships, all for the sake of being closer to his ultimate goal, vengeance
for his father.
Hamlet lacks faith in G d and himself. Consequently he must define his existence in
terms of others... He would like to become what the Greek Tragic hero is, a creature
of situation. Hence his inability to act, for he can only act , i.e., play at possibilities
(Auden, W.H)
Hamlet is willing to act mad, ruining all of his relationships, not limited to his
romantic life, for a futile opportunity to get close enough to Claudius to kill him.
Although both Jay Gatsby and Prince Hamlet are willing to sacrifice all for their
aspirations, Gatsby puts on a false front, while Hamlet covers his; Gatsby pulls a
facade as though he had been wealthy throughout his entire life, while Hamlet feigns
insanity. Gatsby has attempted to pull a facade of him having always been wealthy,
thus allowing him to be part of Daisy s circle. Gatsby claims to have inherited his
vast sum, hiding that he had actually self accumulated it over the years. By
4. The Sane Hamlet Essays
The Sane Hamlet
Hamlet contains the classic argument between whether or not Hamlet is mad, or a
sane man under difficult circumstances. Hamlet assumes antic disposition at times to
uncover the truth of his father s death. From my perspective I believe that Hamlet s
actions and thoughts are a logical response to the situation in which he finds himself.
In the first act, Hamlet appears to be very straightforward in his actions and thoughts.
When questioned by Gertrude about his melancholy appearance, Hamlet says,
Seems, madam? Nay it is know not seems (I, ii, 76). This is to say, I am what I
appear to be. Later he makes a clear statement about his thoughts when he commits
himself to revenge. Hamlet says, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This shows a man who feels justified in his action, and as an outsider we can
sympathize with this view.
There is little confusion and certainly no sign of madness in Hamlet s character. In
the Chapel Scene, when Claudius is praying alone for his guilt, Hamlet accidentally
sees him. He realizes that this is the perfect opportunity to perform the act of revenge.
Seeing the opportunity, Hamlet states;
Now might I do it pat, now a is a praying; And now I ll do it, and so he goes to
heaven, And so am I reveng d. That would be scann d; A villain kills my father, for
that, I, his sole son, do this same villain send To heaven. O, this is hire and salary,
not revenge (III, iii, 73 79).
We can witness this ability to reason showing the way in which Hamlet has a sound
mind and is far from the position of being mad.
When Hamlet appears again in Act Two, it seems that he has lost his conviction and
shows a puzzling duplicitous nature. He has yet to take up the part assigned to him
by the ghost. He spends much of the act walking around, reading and talking with
Polonius, Rosencrantz, Guildenstern, and the players. It is not until the very end of
the act that he even mentions vengeance. If he had any of the conviction shown
earlier, he would be presently working on his vengeance. So instead of playing the
part of vengeful son, or dropping the

Jackie Robinson: The Man who Broke the Color Barrier Since the beginning of
baseball in the mid 18th century, the segregation that existed everywhere in the U.S.
also was an understood agreement between teams until the Dodgers brought up Jackie
Robinson with much criticism and resentment. Major League Baseballwas a white
man s game before Robinson s achievement and it has slowly changed ever since
(Goldman). Because of Robinson, for the first time, America s past time represented
most all Americans regardless of race and ethnicity. Robinson s achievement brought
a prosperous time for many minorities both in baseball and outside of it. With the

Some teams welcomed integration for a variety of reasons such as morality,
increase in revenue, and public pressure, but some teams completely resisted the
movement (Goldman). Teams rented their stadiums out to Negro League teams
while they were playing away games, so if baseball became integrated, the owners
would lose out on a substantial amount of money due to the fact that the Negro
Leagues would fall apart with its best players leaving the league to play in the
professional league ( Breaking the Color Line ). By 1959, all teams had allowed at
least one black player to play with them due to growing public and fan base pressure
6. Pros And Cons Of The Ka-Bar Lake Effect Ice Scraper
Introduction
There s nothing like driving through the city with the top down on a summer s day.
In winter, however, driving becomes a lot less fun. Nobody likes standing in the cold
at seven in the morning, trying to pry the ice from their windshield. To shorten the ice
removal process, you should get your snow gloved hands on a car scraper.
What Is A Car Scraper?
During the colder months, ice collects on idle cars overnight, covering windshields,
bonnets, and pretty much every inch of a vehicle s exterior. While a little bit of ice on
your car door or bumper isn t such a big deal, the ice gathered on your windows is
cause for concern. When your windshield is covered by a blanket of frost, it becomes
impossible to see through, so you ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Lake Effect Ice Scraper features a hard plastic blade which will glide smoothly
across your windshield, removing snow and ice in practically no time at all.
Pros
American Made
If you want to purchase an American made car scraper, the Ka Bar Lake Effect is
one of only a few available. There are a number of reasons one might chose an
American made car scraper over one manufactured elsewhere. For a start, doing so
will stimulate the American economy. Furthermore, employees in Chinese factories
where many other car scrapers are manufactured are often underpaid and poorly
treated.
Doubles as a Weapon
I guess you could say all car scrapers double as a weapon, but the Ka Bar Lake Effect
Ice Scraper was specifically designed to be used as a self defense tool when not
ridding windshields of ice.
Cons
Funds Production of Hunting Tools
If you are a fan of hunting, this probably won t be too much of an issue for you.
However, car owners who are against hunting for sport should note that Ka Bar also
7. manufacturers hunting equipment, meaning a portion of the money spent on this car
scraper will likely go into funding the production of further hunting
8. Confessions By Saint Augustine And Teresa Of Avil The
Book...
Both autobiographies, Confessions by Saint Augustine and Teresa of Avila: The
Book of my Life by Teresa Avila, reveal the stories of how God can take a sinner
and redirect them on a journey to salvation. Both autobiographies show God s ability
to take a sinner from misdirection to glory by drawing them, slowly but surely, closer
in a connection with him.
Confessions is a autobiography of St. Augustine, but shouldn t be taken in the
literal sense. The book is more of a framework for a theological and philosophical
dynamic. The book focuses on the story of Augustine s life from his birth, all the
way up to his conversion to Catholicism and the events that happened between. St.
Augustine chose to recount certain events in his life because they present a view of
larger issues. Augustine was born and raised in Thagaste, in eastern Algeria. He is in
a world that he eventually sees as sinful.
Augustine devotes the first book to his childhood, which leads him to brood on
human origin, memory, will and desire. He begins every book with a prayer and in
the first book the prayer is particularly extensive. His concerns include how one can
seek God without knowing what and who he is. How can one look for something
if we don t really know exactly what we are looking for? This idea serves as a
foreshadowing for what is to come at the end of the book; the idea that if one seeks
and then has faith in God, he will eventually reveal himself to us. Augustine discusses
God s attributes of asking

INTRODUCTION Lipids are organic compounds found in living organisms that are
insoluble or slightly soluble in water but soluble in non polar organic solvents.
Lipids can be classified into four groups which are fats, oils, and waxes, compound
lipids, steroids, and derived lipids.
Various experiments are done on lipids. Some tests are for saturation, presence of
certain compounds, or for the different chemical reactions that lipids undergo.

It is predominantly composed of the elements carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. Many
classes of lipids also contain nitrogen and phosphorus. The relative amounts of these
elements, as well as their structural positions, determine the degree of solubility of the
lipid in various solvents. Lipids with high hydrocarbon content are relatively
nonpolar in nature and insoluble in water. The ionic character of a lipid can be
altered by changes in solvent pH. For example, if the solvent contains a strong acid
or a strong base, hydrolysis of some of the ester bonds will occur. When this
happens, the products of hydrolysis may have solubility properties very different
from those of the original lipid molecule.
Structures of the different Samples and Solvents
Sample 1: Vegetable Oil (Oleic acid)
Oleic acid has the chemical formula C17H33COOH
Due to its large nonpolar portion, oleic acid is insoluble in water and, being less
dense than water, it floats on the water surface. The polar COOH end, however, is
attracted to water molecules. So, a thin coating of oleic acid on the surface of water

10. Rubinstein-Taybi Syndrome
There are over 5,000 genetic disorders passed down through the generations. These
disorders are caused by abnormalities within the chromosomes of an individual.
Rubinstein Taybi syndrome, or RSTS, is a rare genetic disorder that occurs in 1
child out of anywhere between 100,000 to 125,000 children. It was identified by Dr.
Hooshang Taybi, a pediatric radiologist, and Dr. Jack Rubinstein, a pediatrics
professor, in 1963.
RSTS is mainly caused by a deletion within the arm of chromosome 16. However, not
all patients have a mutation on the chromosome. According to the Genetic and Rare
Diseases Information Center, the disorder can be caused by a mutation in the
CREBBP or EP300 gene... or other genes that have not yet been identified (GARD

Most children with the disorder have extreme developmental and intellectual delays.
According to an article from the National Organization of Rare Disorders, as children
age, they experience poor growth and exhibit short stature (NORD 1). The
organization also states that most children experience developmental milestones, like
crawling and expressive speech, later than normal. Children also experience
behavioral issues, including the inability to pay attention, sensitivity to varying
sounds, and spontaneous moods. Congenital heart defects, abnormal lungs, spinal
deformities, and various malignancies are common among individuals diagnosed
with RSTS. Many physical features are also affected. The American Association for
Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus describes the ocular symptoms of RSTS
as downward slanting... eyes, widely spaced eyes, strabismus (eye misalignment),
ptosis (droopy eyelid),... frequent eye infections... [and] congenital glaucoma
(AAPOS 1). Diagnosed individuals may also have a beak like nose, small head, small
mouth or jaw, overly broad fingers (mainly thumbs) and toes, or warped or duplicated

provoke Americans from purchasing them. Obesity could be stopped if citizens
chose better drinks in fact , obesity rates could be reduced by 1 to 4 percentage
points if sugary beverages are taxed moderately (Sahadi). By putting a tax on these
beverages Americans will be less likely to buy them. Although the percentage
change is not that high it will prevent many citizens in choosing this unhealthy
lifestyle. A risk that could result from being obese is diabetes. Diabetes is a
common disease in the U.S. today, for the average child born today, there is a 50
/50 chance, if lifestyles do not change, that they will develop Type 2 diabetes or
other physical diseases and conditions that are associated with being overweight (
11 pros ). Give a child the best opportunity they could have. Kids deserve to be fed
the right food and beverage choices, so they will be prevented from the high risk of
diabetes. Everyone should be cautious on the amount of soda they consume, one
study, for example, found for every can of soda a person drinks per day, he or she
is 30 percent more likely to become obese increasing the risk of heart disease,
diabetes, and other diseases (Blanding). Soda is a huge leading cause to health
effects. Anytime a human decides to put soda into their bodies they are putting
themselves at risk. Soda contains way too many sugars that are not beneficial to the
human body, these drinks have very little, if any, healthy ingredients in them and now
there is a strong
12. The Crisis Of Identity By William Faulkner
The Crisis of Identity Arguably one of the greatest writers of the twentieth century,
William Faulkner was plagued with a crisis of identity from a young age.
Inadequate in nearly every aspect of his life, Faulkner projected his personal
shortcomings onto many of his characters, such as with Miss Emily Grierson in A
Rose for Emilyand Wash Jones in Wash. However, instead of victimizing these
characters within his works, Faulkner chooses to rely almost exclusively on the
lowborn or outcasts, such as Wash and Miss Emily, as examples of heroism.
Unconventional characters like Wash Jones and Emily Grierson pose a test for
Faulkner s readers. If the reader judges these characters with a conventional eye,
seeing one other as a murderous... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This isolation prevented Miss Emily from marrying at a suitable age, therefore
leaving her ineligible after her father s death. In Wash, Faulkner depicts Wash
Jones as being the very bottom of society, an image that is strengthened by the foil
of Thomas Sutpen. Unlike Sutpen, a self made man who has risen to the top of
society, Wash Jones is the lowest of the low. Wash s exceptionally degraded status
at the bottom of the social heap makes it so that even a Negro woman can block his
entrance to Sutpen s kitchen: Stop right dar, white man. Stop right whar you is. You
ain t never crossed dese steps whilst Cunnel (Sutpen) here, and you ain t ghy do hit
now (131). Wash Jones s monumental identity issues are further exemplified through
his cowardliness. When Colonel Sutpen goes off to fight for the Confederacy, Wash
does not go; he instead tells anyone he can that he is looking after Sutpen s
plantation and slaves. However, this was a lie, as most of them... to whom he told it,
knew, though there were some who believed that [Wash] really believed it, though
even these believed that he had better sense than to put it to the test with Mrs. Sutpen
or the Sutpen slaves (130). Like Faulkner, both Miss Emily and Wash Jones suffer
from significant identity issues; however it is these issues that give them the potential
to be the atypical heroes that Faulkner crafts. Similar to

Algorithms for selecting useful texture features were developed by using stepwise
discriminant analysis. They developed four models i.e. HSI_39, HSI_15, HS_10
and I_11. Classification was done by minimum distance classifier. The model using
15 selected HSI texture features got the best classification accuracy (95.6%), which
recommended that it would be best to use a reduced hue, saturation and intensity
texture feature set to differentiate orange diseases. The HSI_15 model, I_11 and
HSI_39 models achieved classification accuracy 95.6%, 81.11% and 95.6%
respectively.
Bauer et al. [10] developed algorithms for the automatic classification of leaf
diseases based on stereo and high resolution multispectral images. Leaves of sugar
beet were used in this method. Sugar beet leaves might be infected by several
diseases. In controlled light laboratory environment, They collected stereo images
of single sugar beet leaves by RGB and multispectral cameras. The leaves were
either healthy or infected from diseases such as rusts, powdery mildew and
Cercospora leaf spot. They generated 3 D models of the leaves to fuse information
from the two cameras. Classification is done by k nearest neighbour and an
adaptive Bayes method. The classification accuracy achieved were 91% for
Cercospora leaf spots and 86% for rust disease.

14. Biomimicry is a New Science to Solve Human s...
Biomimicry
What is biomimicry?
From bios, meaning life, and mimesis, meaning to imitate Biomimicry is a new
science where entrepreneurs imitate nature s time tested processes, systems and
designs to solve human s sustainability problems.
Sustainability Problem
The sustainability problem referred to in this research project is the high energy
consumption of air conditioners in industrial facilities but also in households and its
global and personal health problems (National Geographic online).
There is too much money and electricity spent on air conditioning all around the
world, and percentages are rising. Air conditioners have a negative impact on the
environment as they can release refrigerants into the atmosphere, which deplete the
ozone layer.
Health hazards can also occur if air conditioners are not maintained properly, as dirty
filters allow allergens and pesticides to enter house and buildings.
Nature s solution
Termites build some of the most impressive structures in the animal world, consisting
of materials such as soil, dung and termite saliva and can be 8m high. The extremely
porous walls allow ventilation and cooling systems, due to outside air being able to
permeate the entire structure.
Hypothesis: Modeling houses, offices, malls and other large buildings according to
the principles of termite mounds would serve as a sustainable solution, as it would
save money and decrease the amount of energy consumption.

Cults have become a phenomenon in our world today. Each year quot;hundreds of
Canadians join some of the 3,000 unorthodox religions of one type or another quot;
(Fernell, Branswell, 189) all across North America. Like every organization, club
or even in the common work place there is usually a person who is a figure of
authority or other wise know as a quot;leader quot; and with every leader there are
always rules and objectives that each and every member has to do and follow. The
common psychological profileand objective of a cult leader is usually based upon
power, control, domination and subjugation. Many cult leaders use forms of mind

and its members have targeted a person or group of people the targets are
disempowered such that they often become dependent on the leader to allow them
to get through each day without their life being made hell (Hassen, 02). Once
someone has been recruited into a cult the leader often begins to deteriorate the way
the person thinks and acts. Leaders often end up controlling the way the members
think and control their emotions and feelings. The leaders achieve this by
manipulating and narrowing the range of a persons feelings . . . by the use of
excessive guilt, social guilt, and excessive use of fear . . . (Hassen, 02). After this
kind of treatment is embedded into someone s mind the person whom is under mind
control can not visualize a positive fulfilled future without being in the group or cult.
Members become sensitive to the tactic that illegitimate leader use by turning their
questions and comments around and use them to blame members into obedience.
Some cult leaders become so obsessed with their ideas and thoughts that they can end
up controlling things like what members should eat, wear for clothing and whom
members can and can not associate with. When leaders are called to account for the
way they have chosen to behave the cult leader instinctively denies everything and
anything that may have brought up the question in the first place. Quickly follows

16. TV Rating Research
The main purpose of doing this research on the relationship between fantasy
football participation and TV rating is if playing fantasy football helps influences
people to watch televised games of the National Football League (NFL). The main
reason of me doing this research is because I truly believe in this study and I have
past experience of being part of the human beings that have helped the NFL on their
TV ratings.
With this research topic I will be answering three research question. My primary
research question: Does having a high percent of NFL players that are in starting
lineups spark an increase in TV ratings in those games? Second research question:
Having NFL players that are on high winning teams increase TV ratings? Third
research question: A gamewith a small margin of victory increase TV ratings.
Research Question One
Does having a high percent of NFL players that are in starting lineups spark an
increase in TV ratings in those games? To find results you have to look at players
that were starting in fifty percent to ninety percent of leagues. Also need to look at
results from Sunday night football, Monday night football, NFL on CBS, and NFL
on ESPN. I found some great tables to help picture the results.

Finding these results they looked at NFL players that were in between fifty percent
to ninety percent of fantasy football leagues. They also tested it on the most popular
football channels such as NBC and ESPN. People already believe that having those
NFL players that are on high winning teams increase TV rating but really it all
depends what channel it s shown on. For NBC, studies show that there were notable
conclusion between the winning percentage and NFL players but this was only
shown with NFL players starting greater than ninety percent of leagues. ESPN was
the opposite. They had notable results with players starting in greater than fifty
percent of

19. Summary Of The Charge Of The Light Brigade At
Balaklava
The Charge of the Light Brigade at Balaklava by Lord Alfred Tennyson is a poem
about the historical battle that took place between British and Russia during the
Crimean War. Tennyson wrote the poem as a remembrance of the heroism and
bravery the British soldiers showed during the battle. The poem is well known for its
repetitive rhythm that is used to portray the sound of the charge. The repetition used
in the poem widely affects the rhythm, emotion, and story being told. Without it, the
poem could not have nearly portrayed the strength of the battle as well as it did.
This poem uses a technique known as falling rhythm. Falling rhythm is when the
stress is on the first beat of the line, and then falls off for the remaining words. This
can be deemed important because of the way it is a symbol for the fall of the British
troops. Although the rhyme scheme changes throughout the poem, Tennyson uses
very similar strategies within each stanza. He often rhymes the last word, and
sometimes even uses the same final word for many line. For example, When can
their glory fade! / Oh the wild charge they made! / All the world wondered. / Honor
the charge they made! / Honor the Light Brigade, / Noble six hundred! Even though
the stress is on the first beat, the last words of most of the lines rhyme, making the
whole line seem strong and complete each time we read it. Notice how he uses the
word made twice, and rhymes with that word 4 times. This helps the reader
20. The Blitz In Graham Greene s The Destructors

Major Paper
Graham Greene wrote The Destructors which is about a group of boys who destroys
Mr. Thomas s house. The story takes place after WWII and explains that Germany
demolished London. There are two things that the story connects to the history of
London; one is when Germany attacks London. The attack was known as The Blitz
and shows how much damage Germany has caused London. Another connection is
the movement of the Teddy Boys. The story took place after nine years when the
war ended, and the Teddy Boys movement began around the 1950s. They were
known as rebels and had a reputation for violence. Thus the society blamed the
Teddy Boys for many of society s ill in the 1950s. The history of the Blitz shows
how the boys are affected and this is connected to them because they tend to be rebels
and what their response to the world around them. Graham Greene s The Destructors
explained that young people have no hope and promises and challenges the traditional
expectations of them, by showing them to be incapable of finding something practical
in the world around them and within themselves.
The Blitz began in England in September 1940; Germans required avoiding a long
war. The Blitz, also known as the Blitzkrieg is a German word for lightning. The
British press applied this word because of the frequent bomb raids that were carried
out over Britain in 1940 1941. The intense bombing on buildings and citizens started
21. Assumptions In The Film Atonement By Joe Wright
Assumptions are necessary for us to function as humans, if we did not make
assumptions we would have died out as a species long ago. In the film Atonement ,
director Joe Wright tells the story of a young Briony who has chosen to tell a
terrible lie, one that will forever disconnect her from her sister, her happiness, and
herself. This text begs the question of assumptions; why we need to understand them,
why we need to know when to admit they are wrong, and why we need to be able to
acceptthe consequences of them. The topic and overall meaning that this idea holds
conveys a message that resonates with the idea that assumptions are sometimes a
major factor in how individuals go about taking responsibilityfor themselves. Until an
individual can take responsibility for the actions resulting from their own assumed
reality, their attempts to take responsibility for themselves will ultimately fail.
If an individual s assumption is forced to fit into reality, that may give them the
obligation and personal responsibility to reshape reality to fit their assumptions. As a
thirteen year old Briony was a very curious girl, but she was interested more
specifically in the nature of adults. There is a scene that Briony observes, where
Cecilia and Robbie are arguing next to a fountain, and then Cecilia jumps into the
fountain as Robbie watches. Although Briony watches the events out of curiosity, she
does not grasp the understanding of why the adults act the way they do,
22. Essay On Service Quality
2.Chapter 2 Theoretical Background
2.1.Introduction
This chapter covers the theory for the concepts of service quality and service
excellence and lays a foundation for Chapter 3 Literature Review. The chapter
begins by reviewing the concept of service quality and the related concepts such as
service quality expectation, service performance and service outcomes. Then the
concept of customer satisfaction as an outcome of service delivery is discussed.
2.2.Service Quality Concepts
The concept of quality have defined in terms of goods or products by the older
literature. Because goods are tangible, their quality can be viewed in terms of the,
functionality which is dependent on their manufacturing processes. Parasuraman et al
(1985) argues that the knowledge about goods is not enough to fully understand the
concept of service quality (Parasuraman et al., 1985). Services on the other hand are
intangible, hence firms finds it challenging to measure and evaluate their quality as
perceived by customers. Service are performance base rather than objects they cannot
be counted, measured, inventoried, tested and verified before sales in order to assure
quality. This leads to challenges in understanding customers perceived service quality.
Secondly services are is heterogeneity. This means that service ... Show more content

More focus has been on driving service quality outcome from the mere customer
satisfaction to customer delight and archiving service excellence as the competition
in service industries is rapidly growing. The initial study on customer delight suggest
that high levels of customer satisfaction will eventually lead to customer delight in
the following sequence; arousal в‡’ pleasure (positive affect) в‡’ delight sequence
(Oliver et al., 1997). This study revealed that customer delight and customer
satisfaction have different effects on customer repurchase
23. Cosmological Argument Research Paper
To what extent does The Cosmological Argument prove the existence of God?
There are many different arguments which attempt to help us understand more about
the universe. One of these arguments is the Cosmological Argument which is
essentially an argument which consists of 8 main arguments; things exist because of
a cause, these things do not have to exist but they do, the chain of causes goes back
to the beginning of time, time began when the universe was created, there must have
been a first cause which is responsible for everything else including the universe, the
first cause must have a necessary existence, only God has necessary existence,
therefore God is the first cause of the universe s existence. The argument basically

Scottish philosopher David Hume stated that we have no experience of universes
being made. This shows that one of the biggest flaws with the Cosmological
Argument is that we are not Gods and have never created anything as large or as
complex as an entire universe. Hume also maintained that just because we know
that everything has a cause does not mean that we can assume that the universe in
its entirety is a result of something else. This continues his idea of humans being
incapable of understanding issues of such a large scale and that we are wasting our
time trying to do so therefore we should just assume that the universe simply exists
because it exists. This theory is very well thought out, as there is no tangible
evidence that there is a single entity which created the universe. A wise man
proportions his belief to the evidence David Hume. The quote shows that Hume
would be not at all convinced with the Cosmological Argument unless solid evidence
of a creator were to be placed before him. This believe it when I see it attitude

24. 24 Hour Creation Days
I believe without a doubt the Bible states that these are 24 hour days of creation.
This has been backed up with my research and other research that I found in and
out of the Bible. Though not a popular opinion or one accepted by almost all of
academic circles I believe the Bible shines the light on the literal 24 hour creation
days. Therefore, I will set out in the preceding paper to lay out my case for the
literal interpretation of scripture when talking about the creation of the world. There
is many smart and historical evidence that will support this position and I believe
will carry the light of truth. Last semester I had the privilege to be in Jonathon Henry
s EarthScience class. This classed pushed me to look and interpret data through a
much different lens. I had previously taken an earth science course at a community
college in California previously, therefore I had knowledge of the secular view. The
professor I had at the secular college opened with a statement of how many of you in

God s revelation maybe revealed in science but as long as it lines up with His
word. Therefore, I think it is plain and I have proven that the creation days were
meant to be interested as literal 24 hour periods. This is not a popular view in
today s world and people will rebel and call you all sorts of names. Thus, we must
remember that both sides hold to religious ideas, but only one side has the truth.
Therefore, I will close with what the Bible says about the word and leave it at that.
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was
God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made;
without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life
was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has

Sometimes life can go in different directions. The childerens antecipation makes them

what they are living through. In the story, there are kids that don t remember what the

one of the kids, named Margot, used to live on Earth. She remembers what the sun

26. Masculinity in Fraternities Essay
All over the world Masculinity has many different cultural definitions. Depending
where someone is from, and what they were brought up to believe, defines what the
term masculinity entails. Different Social institutions all over the United States, such
as the military, sports, clubs, and fraternities, have been constructing their
interpretation of masculinity. One major social institutionthat is active in thousands of
Universities across the United States is campus fraternities. Campus fraternities
create their own sense of masculinity by generating certain requirements and
characteristics a manmust hold in order to represent them as a part of their fraternity.
So what allows a campus fraternity to fall under the category of a... Show more

Most fraternities have a house where usually about 20 30 from the fraternity live,
depending on the size of the house. They hold weekly meetings that everybody is
expected to attend and many of the fraternities have traditions that they have been
following for decades. From listing all these traditions it is already easy to
acknowledge how fraternities definitely fall under the category of a social institution.
So the question is how masculinity defined culturally in a fraternity and how does
it create its own sense of masculinity? In order for someone to join a fraternity they
must go through a process of meetings, parties, interviews, before they are given a
bid for the fraternity. Even after that they are not officially a part of the
organization. They have to go through a semester of pledging , which can
sometimes be a grueling process, until they are formally part of the fraternity.
Fraternities need to time to figure out who really fits in best with their image and
helps give the frat a good name. The process of entering a fraternities begins, usually
happens with in the first couple of weeks at school. All different fraternities set up
tents, wearing t shirts or tanks with their Greek letters and try to sell their fraternity
to the public. If interested then a guy will attend a couple of rush parties thrown by
the fraternities, to try and get to know them. Throughout this process many of the

Homeless Women in America
Today in the U.S. there is a large percentage of people that are homeless. There are
so many questions when one sees a homeless person, for example why doesn t he
or she get a job and get out of the streets? People that make comments like the one
just made probably doesn t really know anyone that is homeless so they do no
understand what they go through. In the book Tell Me Who I Am, Elliot Liebow
tries to explain what the cost and gains are for women living in a homeless shelter.
In 1984 Elliot Liebow decided to study homeless women in Washington D.C.

along with themselves that they were mentally ill. These women would start to feel
sorry
for themselves and feel like it s them against the world.
Another cost that the women experienced from living at the shelter was their
inability to get a job. The reason for this was because the women would not be able to
put a phone number and address on the application. Some of the women may get hired
for a job but the employer was not able to get in touch with them to in form the

The women could put down the address to the shelter but most wouldn t because they
believed that employers would be scared off. The women tried to get the head of the

Another cost from living at the shelter was the fact that the will always be racism.

29. Argumentative Essay On School Start Time
Every morning students in the United States feel the effects the early start time many
schools have implemented. These students are lethargic and inattentive, due to the
lack of sleep they are getting every night. Typically, adults see these characteristics as
the result of teenagers staying up late watching Netflix or using their cell phones.
Many reputable organizations, such as the Centers for Disease Control and the
American Academy of Pediatrics, have researched this problem and found that
teenagers are lacking in sleep due to biological and physiological changes that are
occurring within their brains. These shifts cause students to be more inattentive and
reckless, resulting in lower grades, tardiness, and higher rates of car... Show more

By requiring teenagers to wake up early, school officials are basically neglecting
the health of their student bodies in favor of making their lives simpler. Despite the
overwhelming evidence given by current research, many people refuse to change
school start times because of the lack of noticeable impact some schools had or the
impact it had on some people s schedules. Pannoni cites a statement by the Iowa City
Community School District which found that the later start time . . . [did] not reduce
the number of tardy students by any appreciable amount. The principal of Ballard
High School agreed by saying that he would be surprised to see large improvements
in either attendance or grade data compared with past years (Pannoni). Many schools
refused to change because of how the later start and dismissal times would affect
extracurricular activities and students with jobs. This change would also interfere
with bus schedules and childcare habits. However, these seem like small problems
that can be overcome when the results are that later school start times were associated
with students sleeping longer at night, less tardiness, having higher test scores, being
less depressed, using less caffeine and other drugs, . . . and experiencing fewer
morning car crashes (Fenwick). The most compelling evidence that shows changing

When the song was finally done, the quintet stopped for a bit to discuss which

Sherwood did say at the beginning of the concert that the entire concert would be
improvised. Once they concluded together, Sherwood came back to the mic and
explained that they will be doing a B Bop version of Charlie Parker Ornithology.
He then gave a bit of history of B Bop, explaining that it is a song or songs written
over older songs, to give them a new and refreshing sound to them. The song started

only the drum was the only instrument to be heard by the audience. Clarke slowed

musicians started to join in along with the song, regaining speed matching the
harmony that they had created at the beginning of the song.

By the beginning of the 1980s, double digit rates of inflation had become so
pervasive among industrialized economies that they were viewed as a major deterrent
to global economic growth. Since then, an explicit policy goal of low inflation has
become a mantra for policymakers, and many countries, such as the U.K., New
Zealand, Australia, Japan, Sweden, and the eleven countries under the European
Central Bank (ECB), have enacted fundamental reforms to achieve that goal.
Specifically, they have made their central banks more independent and thus insulated
them from the temptations of inflationary finance; furthermore, in most of these
cases, as well as in the U.S., central banks have practiced a greater degree of

averaged 3.0% since the end of the last recession in 1991.Q2. This Economic Letter
addresses the question: How well is a 2% solution to the inflation problem supported
by the voluminous academic studies that have been conducted recently on the
optimal rate of inflation?
The Friedman Rule and the benefits of 0% inflation
Milton Friedman (1969) described the optimal inflation rate as one that would not
penalize households for holding monetary assets that bear no interest. This would
require a zero nominal interest rate, such that the real return on money, which is the
negative of the inflation rate, would exactly equal the real return on real assets. This
so called Friedman Rule has resurfaced in recent theoretical models. These models
examine in an internally consistent manner how inflation leads to the inefficient use
of the economy #56544;resources, and they quantify the significance of these
inefficiencies by taking the models to the data.
Using the Friedman Rule as a benchmark, the standard measure of welfare losses
associated with inflation is computed to be the percent change in the household
#56544;consumption (or income) flow that the household would require to be
indifferent between two inflation rates. The majority of the large number of

is to say that just as each artists painting of the same thing would vary, and that the
same concept applies to history. The past is often presented to us as mere facts, and
it is this class that has given me the opportunity to assume the job of a historian and

process about history. I tend to attempt to see things from more than just my

history, my belief is that it is important to look at and understand the mindsets that

understand the subject. One major example of how different perceptions of facts can
lead to different narratives are the causes of the American Revolution. There are two
main viewpoints that are typically seen on these series of events: The Colonist s
perspective and the English perspective. Though there are many different lenses to
view this topic through, these two are most commonly analyzed due to the

Law of Independent Assortment
The Law of Independent Assortment states that alleles for separate traits are passed
from parents to offspring independently from each other. Proof of this principle was
achieved through dihybrid and monohybrid cross experiments. Independent
assortment occurs in eukaryotic organisms during meiotic metaphase I, and produces
a gamete with a mixture of the organism s chromosomes. The physical basis of the
independent assortment of chromosomes is the random orientation of each bivalent
chromosome along the metaphase plate with respect to the other bivalent
chromosomes. Along with crossing over, independent assortment increases genetic
diversity by producing many genetic combinations.
Law of Dominance
Mendel s Law of Dominance states that recessive alleles will always be masked by
dominant alleles. This means a cross between a homozygous dominant and a
homozygous recessive will always express the dominant phenotype whilst still
having a heterozygous genotype. Proof of this principle was achieved using a mono
hybrid cross experiment: In a cross between two organisms of contrasting traits the
trait that is expressed is called dominant and the trait that is suppressed is called
recessive.
Dominance and Co dominance
Dominance and co dominance was discovered by Gregor Mendel when he found that
if two parents with different variations of a similar trait were cross bred, the
offspring would only display one of these
40. LOWP Is More Inhumane Than Death Sentence
In this article the author, a lawyer representing those on death row, makes the claim
that LOWP is more inhumane than the death sentence. He claims there is more
attention and protection given to those on death row than LOWP inmates as more
laws and special procedures must be done regarding the death sentence and the
execution. This is seen by a survey done on 50 death rowinmates in which forty
seven opposed the measure (Dow). The reason they oppose the measure is when the
death penalty is eliminated, the prisoners automatically [lose] their right to state
appointed lawyers to peruse their habeas corpus appeals. Likewise, more media
attention is given and those who are on death row. If death row is eliminated, this
attention is differed
41. Marlowe’s Dr. Faustus For Dummys
This story is not like any other story; Dr. Faustus was a man who basically got
bored with the way things were being taken care of such as law, religion and logic.
He decides he wants to learn how to do magic but he needs help doing so, he has
friends teach him black magic, when he is finally skilled enough he summoned a
demonnamed Mephistopheles. This demon explains to Dr. Faustus about the
treacherous things about hell but Dr. Faustus ignores them and goes and tells
Mephistopheles to ask Lucifer to accept his deal. Mephistopheles returns with the
news and Dr. Faustus signs the deal in blood. Many would say Marlowe s play is
about sinand knowledge, but its more just about Faustus being a jokester and that
there is nothing intelligent about him.
The author described Dr. Faustus as a man who was bored with his work who did
every sin there such as gluttony to sloth. After he committed the sins he gets into
magic, using his magic abilities he summons a demon named Mephistopheles,
Faustus tells the demon to return to Lucifer and tell him that he will exchange
twenty four years of service from the demon in exchange for his soul.
Mephistopheles returns to Faustus saying that Lucifer has accepted the offer. As all
of this is happening the Dr s assistant is practicing his dark magic skills, and
summons up a clown named robin to help assist them. Dr. Faustus thinks about
asking for forgiveness from God but the temptation is too great and signs the deal in
blood. A Latin saying
42. Darwin Natural Selection
Biologist Charles Darwin, branded evolution as descent with modification via natural
selection. Each generation of animals that reproduces sexually, have a mixed DNA of
their parents, generating differences in the descendants DNAs and physical forms.
DNA is one of the numerous genetic developments that change populations of
animals over time, and that s what descent with modifications is. When it comes to
natural selection, it overlays modification, but the two theories are not accurately the
same. Natural selection was mainly much the explanation for how species changed
over time. For instance, animals in a hot environment with thin fur were most likely
to survive. Animals with the genefor thin fur would have a greater advantage on
staying... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The estrous cycle starts after puberty in sexually mature females, and are interrupted
by anestrous phases. Naturally, estrous cycles will continue until death. Some animals
may display bloody vaginal discharge, and many individuals mistake this for a human
menstruation. On the other hand, humans and great apes undergo the menstrual cycle
instead of the estrous cycle. Another difference is that the animals that undergo the
estrous cycles reabsorb the endometrium if conception does not occur during that
cycle and don t feel pain during the cycle. On the other hand, the animals that undergo
menstrual cycles, shed the endometrium through menstruation. Another difference is
the sexual activity of the animal when it s undergoing the cycle. Animals with
estrous cycles are mostly sexually active during the estrous phase of the cycle, and
this is where the familiar term in heat is used. On the other hand, animals with
menstrual cycles have the choice to be sexually active at any time in their cycle,
either if they are about to ovulate or

The point of occupy movements are to get back from the one percent and give to

44. Analyzing Hermanson s Classified Income Statement
Greetings,
This week I selected to answer the 1st question: describe the classified income
statement and identify the statement s four sections and the important financial
relationships found with in the statement. First, it is important to identify what is a
classified income statement. According to Hermanson, a classified income statement,
also referred as a multiple step income statement, divides both revenues and expenses
into operating and non operating items, separates operating expenses into selling and
administrative expenses (1998). Furthermore, the classified income statement is
broken up into four sections: operating revenues, cost of goods sold, operating
expenses and non operating revenues and expenses.

45. Plant Species Observation Paper
To gather a comprehensive collection of the plant species found on the SCICON
property. Observations will be made of plant associations, slope and soil conditions.
The results will aid us in determining vegetation composition and create vegetation
profiles of the area.
Tulare County, with the exception of the National Parks, has one of the least known
floras in California. Since much of the valley floor has been converted to
agricultural purposes and the foothills dedicated to ranching, there have been few
botanical surveys performed. Evidence of gaps in collections are glaring when one
references the site localities of collections in the Cal Flora website. The Sierra
Nevada foothills are known for their high plant diversity (Barbour, 1990) and serve as
an important ecotone between ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Distinctive patterns of plant distribution are evident at the SCICON facility.
Riparian habitats associated with Bear Creek show high diversity and are well
represented by plants requiring high moisture soils such as alders, sycamores, and
willows. South and west facing slopes receive the greatest amount of solar exposure
and thus support only plant species well adapted to drought and heat stress. Quercus
douglassii (Blue Oak) appears to be the dominant species in this strongly xeric
environment. North and east facing slopes have a very diverse representation of trees
that include Umbellularia californica (California bay), Quercus wislizeni (live oak)
and Aesculus hippocastanum (horse chestnut). Within these varied environments are
found an array of vegetation types listed above that are named after their dominant
species. At SCICON Quercus douglasii (Blue Oak) Woodlands are the most
dominant. Several species collected over the last few months had not been previously
collected by UC Jepson affiliated
46. The Vapors And E Cigs
The Vapors and E Cigs are an electronic cigarette, meant to be a substitute for
cigarette smokers. E cigs maybe the best alternative to cigarettes, although vaping
presents just as many health issues as smoking.
In general the side effects for vaping are as fallow: Dry skin, dry mouth, Rash
/burning sensation on face, itchiness, puffy/dry eyes, caffeine sensitivity and minor
bloody nose issues. The E cigs produce vapor, not smoke, to allow smokers to
consume their nicotine without affecting the people around them. Some consumers
believe that the vapor they exhale is water vapor. E Juice is the liquid used to
produce the vapor, but E Juice is an oil based product. Even a fourth grader would
question how the vapor contains water if it was an oil used to produce the vapor.
The chemicals found inside the oils are not addictive but are still harmful to the
human body. The main ingredients in E juice are propylene glycol, glycerin, nicotine,
and artificial flavorings. Nicotine free E juice, somewhat of a good thing, contains
95% propylene glycol and glycerin.
For those who don t know what propylene glycol is, propylene glycol is the chemical
used for anti freeze ice pack. It is labeled as a safe toxin, but none the less still a
toxin. Propylene glycol when ejected can affects the skin, kidneys and respiratory
system (breathing). Propylene Glycol is also referred to as PG and one of PG s
attributes is that it is a hygroscopic liquid, in other words, it attracts and holds water
47. Pope Urban 2 Persuasive Essay
There are many reasons Pope Urban II has decided to partake in this necessary
crusade against the Muslims. Some of his reasoning stems from Christianity s
current teachings. For example, the New Testament reveals Jesus had said to bring
not peace, but the sword (Matt 10:34). Apart from God s input, the Pope must
follow the Just War Theory for a crusade to become valid. In order to consider a
crusade as righteous, it must have a high probability of success, the right intention, a
just cause, exhausted all peaceful alternatives, an assessment of proportionality and
an official declaration of war from Pope Urban II. In general, this crusade has a high
probability of success because God is on Christianitys side and there is a large
response from fellow Christians. According to Roman... Show more content on

For instance, the Muslims are occupying Christian territory and threatening New
Christian settlements in the Baltic region including the Byzantine empire (Riley Smith
2005). In order to avoid further damage to Christianity, the Pope has to partake in a
defensive war. If he does not, Muslims could continue to claim Christain regions
resulting in the extinction of Christianity. In general, these heretics do not have a
deep rooted religious or historical connection with the Jerusalem. For example, most
of the stories in the Christian Bible take place in Jerusalem. Even Christianity s lord
and savior is said to have lived and died in Jerusalem. Therefore, Muslims are not
entitled to that piece of land. At the same time, heretics in Languedoc are rebelling
against the church and are consistently denying their responsibilities to teach others
about Christ (Riley Smith 2005). If people are not taught about Jesus, they will not
have a place in heaven. The crusade s purpose is not only to unite Christians with
Jerusalem but to influence non believers to become
48. My Experience At A Children s Camp
The past few days of observation are based upon my final week as a coordinator for
a children s camp. Including my interactions with people as our programs are
winding down and the unexpected realities of what was going on outside of the
camp. In this week I experienced; upward social comparison, availability heuristic,
mortality salience and social cognition.
Upward social comparison I participated in a panel discussing the benefits of
advanced placement classes. In my discussion of my personal experiences, I
talked about comparing myself to my more intelligent classmates. In high school I
felt like I was not as mart as my classmates. I discussed how it made me work
harder, I wanted to be at what I perceived was a higher level. The example in the
book mentioned studies of people using upward social comparison to motivate
themselves to success (pg. 86). As mentioned by the text upwards social
comparison can be a positive tool for motivation. The textbook also spoke about
the dangers of comparing yourself with others if a person does not believe they
can reach what they are aspiring to be. I recognize what the danger in upward
social comparison could be, it would be hard to process failure if you lived your
entire life comparing yourself to others. I do not know if I thought I could reach what
I was comparing myself to, but I believe I benefited from the push. Eventually, I no
longer relied the comparison.
Availability Heuristic In my closing duties, I evaluated
49. Political Polarization Vs American Politics
Unless you live under a rock far beneath the earth where absolutely no radio
frequencies can be detected, then American politics has likely come up in personal
conversations or in a piece of media that you ve since consumed. In the wake of the
raucous 2016 presidential election, political phrases and news has been plastered on
every television set and every car bumper. Personally, I have a very deep interest and
fascination with politics, and I tend to have some pretty strong opinions on a lot of
controversial topics, although I keep these opinions to myself most of the time. Since
this presidential election was the first one I have witnessed as a relatively mature
individual, I have been able to think critically about the 2016 race, much unlike...

Mary Mimi Carstens, a good friend of mine with a deep knowledge and
understanding of politics which reach far beyond her years, initially confirmed my
main theories, as well as confirming the Pew Reasearch Center s statistics in her
assertion that The Republicans could be seen with a handful of liberals and the
Democrats had many conservatives in their midst. However, the parties seem to
have essentially purified their ideologies and there is much less diversity in that
sense, causing a great divide between the two parties the Republicans moving
farther right and the Democrats moving farther left. However both Mimi and Mr.
Lindley conflicted with my ideas about the dual party system. Mr. Lindley viewed
the dual party system as being a beneficial institution, as fractured governing
bodies can make way for totalitarianism to rear its head, an example he used in
particular being the overly diverse Reichstag which allowed the Nazi Party to take
hold over Germany. He also argued that within the two parties there is enough
ideological diversity to have six or more parties currently in congress, each main
party being divisible into major factions, such as Democratic socialists (Bernie
Sanders),
50. The Center Stage-Personal Narrative
It was a dusky, cold evening in early December. The sky looked almost as if it
might snow that night because the sky was a charcoal gray, not a dark black. The
lights and buildings sprinkled the sky, like tiny little stars. The Center Stage s sign
shone a bright green light that created a cast over everyone who was waiting to get
into the venue. Despite it being extremely cold outside, everyone was just chatting
away and laughter was heard from everywhere; it sounded like a nest of honey bees.
The air was sharp and chilly, but was filled with the scents of alcohol and cigarette
smoke. The group of people were waiting to see the band, Catfish and the Bottle

lights were now turned off in the majority of the office buildings and other
business. The group that I came to the concert with was all meeting up outside of
the venue, but I arrived before everyone else at meeting place, which was under the
tree. To occupy the time, I got on my phone and replied to the text messages that I
missed. Suddenly, there was a light tap on my left shoulder and I heard the familiar
deep, Scottish voice. Hi, I was wondering if you would like to come with my
friends and I to get some pizza at the restaurant across the street? I stood there,

friends and I have to ride back home with them. An expression of disappointment
spread across his bearded, pale face. He took my social media information and
proceeded to go with his friends. I could still smell his cologne and camel cigarette
smoke while I was riding through the bright, shiny city that
51. Why School By Mike Rose Analysis
Beyond the Classroom Many are quick to disregard education s role outside of the
classroom. According to Mike Rose, a good education helps us make sense of the
world and find our way in it (Rose 33). Rose emphasizes the value in the experience
of education beyond the value of education for the purpose of custom or intelligence;
he explores the purposeof going to school in terms of how he defines himself and his
personal growth in the stages of his academic career. By reflecting on his personal
experiences and how those gave him the tools applicable to his daily life, he
emphasizes why education should never be overlooked. Rose s use of referencing
relatable experiences in a logical manner makes his argument persuasive to the
readers and he succeeds in making the readers reconsider why education matters to
them. Mike Rose s Why School?: Reclaiming Education for All of Us effectively
persuades his audience of the importance of education beyond the classroom, which
proves true in our everyday lives because the essential aspect of education is what
we do with it and how it helps develop one s personal growth. Rose elaborates on the
significance of education by reflecting on his own perspectiveon how that shaped his
identity. His childhood gave him the opportunity to experiencethe contrast between a
positive learning environment and a negative one. This also shaped him to have an
evident positive outlook on education. It can be assumed that the right learning

Name: Ngan Thu Bui
Frame Of Reference
Analysis Paper #1
1.My learning styles are kinesthetic and visual. When I learn to do something, I
always skip the instruction, tending to jump right in and try it. In terms of Mutual
Intelligence, I scored 3.57 in Nature, 3.43 in Self, and 3.14 Musical. The MI score
nearly mirrors who I am, except the language and kinesthetic scores. It s true that I m
not good at math and logical problems, but I do enjoy new languages. I m bilingual
now and I want to be a trilingual in the future. Therefore, I believe that my score in
linguistic and kinesthetic should be higher. There are some statements in the
Assessment results which I find accurate about me. For instance, Take photographs
of what you find on your hike , You like working on projects on your own , and
You enjoy humming or singing along with music. My Keirsey Score is INFP
which means my learning score is NF. I m not the type of person who logically
plans to do everything. I prefer to be led by feelings. It s also true that I m an
introvert when I m around people who I don t feel comfortable with. Actually, I
change into another person when I m with my family and friends. It s interesting
that my boyfriend shares totally different traits in his Keirsey Score; he s an ISTJ.
While I focus on creativity and don t follow the plan, he tends to plan everything in
advance. Sometimes, the differences in our personalities create arguments. However,
I believe those differences have more
53. Springfield General Hospital Case
1. What went wrong? How can you explain how the technology actually led to more
rather than fewer mistakes?
The staff was made complacent by technology and leaned on the technology to hold
and reproduce information. They never checked on the validity of the information
they were receiving from the system. They also received information from the system
in a form that was not easily usable.
2. What theories of change implementation would have helped the administrators at
the Springfield General Hospital solve the problem of medication mistakes?
Springfield General Hospital should have gathered all of their essential personnel
together to analyze their issue. Once they had correctly identified the problem, they
should have come up with a solution together and properly training their personnel in
the areas of change that are being changed. Technology should not have been the

educational assistance companies and district personnel. Therefore as the educational
leaders make decisions they have to consistently check the source of the data. The

They should also ensure that each department knows what the other departments are

54. The Effects Of Transportation In The Rocky Horror
Picture...
Have you ever been so engrossed in a movie that you felt like you were one of the
characters? Star Wars fans are a prime example of this phenomenon. Many fans flock
to the theater wearing costumes. Another example that may help identify
transportation is the audience participation in the movie, The Rocky Horror Picture
Show. Fans would not only dress as one of the characters, but they would interact
with props while the moving was being played. Being so engaged in a movie makes
one feel as if they have been transported into the place they are watching. According
to the article, Transportation Across Media: Repeated Exposure to Print and Film,
Transportation has three main components: cognitive engagement, emotional
engagement, and mental imagery. The self report transportation scale includes items
tapping each of these dimensions, but prior research with the scale suggests that all
three aspects combine to produce transportation effects (Green Brock, 2000). (Media
Psychology, 2008) The idea of one being able to feel as if they are transported into
another world may seem absurd to some, but the reality is we all enjoy movies
because it somehow sends our minds to another world for a short time. It helps us
temporarily forget our daily stressors. Need for cognition is the tendency to enjoy
and engage in effortful cognitive activity (Cacioppo Petty, 1982). (Media Psychology,
2008) The effect of transportation is apparent in watching someone play video games.

55. Essay on 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People
Stephen R. Covey s self help book is an influential communication for personal
change. He advises building from the inside out and offers a plan for moving from
dependence to independence and then to interdependence. The inside out approach
starts first with one self, which includes paradigms, characters, and motivations. To
improve relationships with others, we have to first improve ourselves by putting
character ahead of personality. Covey prefaces the book by explaining paradigms and
principles. Paradigms are maps that guide us and affect the way we interact with
people. He states, We see the world not as it is, but as we are or as we are
conditioned to see it (page 28). Paradigms have a greater impact over effectiveness
than any... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Covey states that effectiveness is based on a principle he called the P/PC balance.
This P/PC balance principle lies in the balance of production of desired results to
the production capabilities. The PC principle is to always treat your employees
exactly as you want them to treat your best customers (page 58). Covey states that
the P/PC balance is the essence of effectiveness: It s the definition and paradigm of
effectiveness upon which the seven habits in this book are based (page 58).Covey
calls those things that we have no control over the circle of concern. Those that we
can control fall into the circle of influence. He describes three areas that problems
fall into. They are direct control, indirect control and no control. Direct control
problems involve our own behavior. There are addressed in the three habits.
Covey explains that private victories precede public victories. Private victories are
solving problems by working on our own habits. Indirect control problems are
solved by changing our methods. Public victories are discussed in Habits 4, 5 6 and
involve learning new methods of influence. No control problems are those that we
can do nothing about but accept them so that we do not empower these problems to
control us (page 86). It is how we change our habits, methods and
