Food In The Victorian Era
Victorian Era Foods Food! Food! Food! In the Victorian Era food was very different from
how it is now.
The food was not the same for everyone. The rich people had really good food but it was
a different story for the poor people. Poor people did not have good and sometimes it
was the left overs from the rich people. Food was fancy like their life. The rich and the
poor was really different in how they ate. The rich kids ate really good and they didn t
have problems getting foods. The poor kids ate what they could because it was
limited. Rich people had really big amounts of foods and had high quality food. The
poor had very low quality and they didn t have a bunch of food. The rich and the poor
had very different types of foods. Upper

Circuit City Failure
There are three major reasons why businesses fail: lack of money, lack of knowledge
and lack of support. It is not enough to have a great product. You also have to develop a
unique value proposition, without you will get lost among the competition. There is no
mystery as to why Circuit City filed bankruptcy on Nov. 10. Circuit City was very
successful in the 1980s and 1990s, but they never changed after that. Circuit City
became complacent. Their locations were out of the way for consumers and they never
secured prime real estate for their stores. It didn t move as aggressively into gaming as it
should have. And it missed out on big in store promotions with thriving companies like
Apple Computer. That created an opening for Best Buy, now the top electronics chain in
the U.S., to surge ahead. Finally, Circuit City neglected to improve its web presence, just
as online retailers like Amazon.com were hitting their stride. While all this was
happening, their customer service took a major... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

To make sure that we are all working in the same direction, each of us must live and
breathe Circuit City s values and use them as a guidepost for our actions and decisions.
There s no plan in here for success. This doesn t sound like a competitive plan, or even
one that will meet with any success. It s entirely elementary. Best Buy s mission
statement reads as follows, To offer customers a perspective they can trust in the midst of
techno stress and make technology live up to its promises for people everywhere. The
statement is customer oriented, which means that it is focused on satisfying customer
needs and solving their problems. They claim to learn what customers want and not
giving them what they think they need. This is absolutely a great mission

A Comparison Of Johann Sebastian Bach And George
Frideric...
Although numerous composers have shown their musicality from different musical
periods, only some of the remarkably talented ones are still remembered and honored.
Such composers compositions are performed all around the world even today. From
the Baroque period, Johann Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel are the two
most renowned composers. Even though both of their compositions are considered to
be well written, they have shown completely different musical styles. Bach composed
pieces that are extremely complicated and intense, whereas Handel emphasized
simplicity and clearness in his work. Since their approaches in composing music
completely differ, it is improper to deduce who is better as they both are successful in
their own unique ways. However, audiences in the Baroque period had a strong
opinion as to who is more successful. Many musical experts from the Baroque period
tend to indicate that Bach should have adopted Handel s musical styles in order for him
to be even more acknowledged as a composer. According to the John Hawkins s A
General History of the Science and Practice of Music, Johann Sebastian Bachwas born
into a musical family. He was the son of a formal musician, John Ambrose Bach and the
younger brother of an organist, John Christopher Bach. From a young age, Johann
Sebastian Bach has learned to play Harpsichord and Organ. With these instruments, he
started to pursue his career in music as an organist and a chamber musician at many
churches.
Norse Mythology Research Paper
What does every religion and culture around the world have in common? They all have
some form of divinity or gods. For the Scandinavian/ Germanic people or as they were
sometimes called the Vikings their particular brand of mythology is called Norse
Mythology. Today almost everyone has either seen or heard of the Thor movies.
Although those are great movies they do not even touch the surface of how deep and
intricate Norse mythologytruly is. This entire culture of myth was spread through words
and stories of the Scandinavian Vikings to explain what and why things happened in
their world. This mythology spanned through many other cultures. Our days of the week
are even from the Scandinavian or Norse gods such as Thursday being Thor s day ....

Hel herself resides in Helheim (McCoy). The most notable monsters of mythology
happen to be Loki s own children. Fenrir is depicted as a giant wolf. He was raised by
the gods in order to keep him under control. The Midgard serpent is depicted as a giant
snake wrapped around the Earth with its tail in its mouth. Hel is a giantess and
goddess and rules over Helheim, the realm of the dead (Norse Mythology for Smart
People). These three bring about Ragnarok. Ragnarok itself is known as the Doom of
the Gods (McCoy). The end starts with the death of Baldr by Loki. After this the
realms fall into chaos. Fenrir and Loki break free of their chains and giants descend on
Asgard. Thor faces a tragic end going up against Jormungand, the Midgard serpent, each
slaying the other. Fenrir goes on to swallow and destroy everything in his path before
Odin stepped in to stop him. Odin himself though he fought valiantly was killed by

of Odin the end came and silence of Ginnunggagap or the anti cosmic void was once

Living in a Fallen Societies
Would you like to live in a world where your leader is murdering millions of people,
well this was Nazi Germany. Thankfully we don t have to live through that anymore.
Why? Because faults in the society lead to its failure. All societies fail, but why?
Corrupt leaders, lack of resources, and failure in security can all lead to the downfall of a
society. Now not all societies fail for these reasons, but Nazi Germany, ancient India,
Rome, and the Glade, a fiction society in The Maze Runner book by James Dashner,
have. The are usually many faults in our governmentand every government whatever
type of government it is. Leaders are very important in a society because everyone looks
up to the leader, but what happens when the leader is corrupted? Bad things happen when
a leader is corrupted, It happened in Germanyand in The Maze Runner. In the Glade they
have a council of Keepers who run the government. The Keepers are like the CEO of
one of the many jobs at the Glade. The Keepers make the laws and vote on issues.
Gally is one of the Keepers on the council. Gally is a bully. He threatened to kill Tomas
more than once and has hurt other citizens in the Glade. Gally also does not respect
their government system. He wants to be the only leader. All of the leaders need to be
on the same page, so everything can work right. In this case it wasn t, which is why the
Glade fell.
During the Nazi Germany era, Hitler started out nice but abused his political power and

Why Summer is my Favorite Season of the Year Essay
My favorite season of the year is summer because of the warm weather, the school
vacation, and the endless fun. I really enjoy the warm weather because it s the perfect
atmosphere to do outdoor activities. My favorite part about summer has to be the fact
that school is closed for two months. During summer, you re free to do whatever you
want, not worrying about curfew or waking up early for school. Summer time is a
great time to relax with friends and family by soaking up the sun at a beach or simply
having dinner together. I love the hot and humid days that makes you want to dive into a
fresh and cold pool. When summer time starts, you can wear lighter clothes, which are
much more comfortable. The weather allows people to go outdoors to... Show more

The break calls for staying up late and waking up whenever you want to. Everyone
works so hard during the school year, so they deserve that free time. Summer times are
stress free, relaxing, and basically fun. You don t have to worry about homework,
projects, and studying for a test. One of my favorite summer pastimes is staying up
late watching movies and eating junk food, and then waking up late and having
brunch. Summer season is the best time for festivals and activities. You can never get
bored on a summer day or night. During the day, there are fun activities such as:
swimming, sports, picnics, and barbeques. Friends and family spend a lot of time
together during the summer time. There is a lot of good food, drinks, and fun music.
Everyone is laughing and having a good time. Summer evenings are the best time for
concerts, movies, parties, and relaxing with friends. The summer evenings are beautiful
because of the sparkly and glittery city lights. One of the best events of the year, July
Fourth, happens during summer. The celebration of July fourth is very extravagant and
glamorous. People gather around to celebrate and watch the display of fireworks. The
vibrant colors and the loud sound of the fireworks are amazing. Overall, summer is just
a wonderful season with so much to offer. The best thing about this time of the year is
that everyone is so happy, whereas, compared to the winter, everyone is
Culture Clash In House Of Sand And Fog By Amy Tan
The world has a variety of cultures and religions, and in this generation these different
cultures mix. It is not easy for some people to accept these different faiths and morals,
however
they learn to day by day. In books such as House of Sand and Fog by Andre Dubus III
and The Joy
Luck Club by Amy Tan, the authors convey the theme of the clash of cultures. Writing
books
about different cultures and the struggle of their acceptance, is crucial for modern society
because
it gives the world a realistic view on what is actually happening. Perhaps the message the
authors
are trying to send with the theme of culture clash, is that because of all the different
cultures,
people should learn to accept the variety.

A Million Little Pieces Put Back Together The world is full of people striving to be the
best they can be. When one finds themselves far from the social idea of perfect there is
a strong need to improve. While self improvement is hard, it is also a necessary part of
life, setting goals for how one wants their life to turn out. Addiction is a huge obstacle in
the way of perfection it can destroy lives when the person with the addiction does not
want to change. In the memoir A Million Little Pieces the writer and main character,
James Frey, leads a drug addicted life that he turns around in a Minnesota rehab center,

All of these things show his self improvement, his strength for working on his
problems alone and trying to get salvation in ways he can be proud of after, being able
to say he made himself a better person. Meanwhile, as he is taking responsibility for
getting better he also has to deal with pain, both physically and mentally to complete
his journey to sobriety. Withdrawal can be described as one of the most excruciating
experiences, causing hallucinations, sweating, convulsions and more as the body
tries to purify itself. The body s dependency on drugs becomes so strong after a while
it does not know how to survive without them; it keeps waiting to have a need filled,
like hunger. At treatment centers, there are detoxifying drugs that help to ease the
transition between the addictions from street drugs without causing the body to shut
down, slowly easing the body back into its normal state. When James first arrives in
rehab, he is put on these detoxifying drugs, as they start to wear off he starts to feel the
effects of the damage he has done to himself. As he is waiting for a refill, he describes,
As the line moves forward I start to feel anxious and nervous and angry. With each step

Implementing A New Software Or Equipment Or Launching

You ll also need to research the current competitive landscape in order to understand
whether the proposed idea or action is viable. Whether you are implementing a new
software or equipment or launching your own new product, you need to compare the
proposed product or service with other similar items on the market.
This might mean you need to compare the feasibility of your chosen software (for
example, accounting platform) with other products on the market. What are the benefits
of your proposed choice and what are the weaknesses? Are the risks associated with your
chosen software smaller or bigger than those of competitive products?
The same analysis applies when launching a new product. Part of your feasibility study
must then focus on understanding what the customers are looking for and whether your
proposed idea answers these needs. You should also compare the proposed product with
the existing products or services and focus on the advantages, as well as disadvantages,
you might have.
Step 4: Examining the market conditions
You also need to examine the market conditions. There are four specific points of
analysis when it comes to the market in terms of feasibility. These are:
Defining the target market.
Studying the buying habits of the target market.
Understanding the sale and market share outlook of the proposal.
Outlining the product awareness that is required for the use of your product or service.
The main goal of this part of the feasibility study is
The Environmental Impact Assessment On The Environment
NON TECHNICAL SUMMARY
The Environmental Impact Assessment is an ongoing process in terms of environmental
and social considerations that places in a high priority the conservation and the
enhancement of the natural environment. EIA is defined as the study of the effect
prediction of a proposed projct on the environment. In addion, it may be described as a
tool which helps to make an important decision comparing many alternative plans for a
project and seeks to find the best solution combining all the financial and environmental
costs and benefits. The EIA is based on integrity, utility and sustainability.

A Toy Breed Dogs
Introduction
The kennel club states that 30 60% of canis familiaris (Dogs) in the United Kingdom
are overweight (The Kennel Club, 2017). Nutrient requirements vary dependent on the
species, the breed of the species makes a huge impact on the requirements (Thomason,
2013). Many Toy breed dogs have a different requirement to what working dogs would
have, as they are biologically diverse (Sanderson, 2016). Furthermore, they will vary on
age, sex, life stage, illness/disease, pregnant or lactating animal and their physiological
state (Frost, 2015).

Water
There is an approximate 33 66ml that is required in a dog per kg of their body weight
(Hand et al, 2000). So, the 3kg Japanese chin would need approximately 198ml of
water per day. There will be water accessible for the dog at all times, as it is there most
important nutrient for their body (Agar, 2001).
Energy Requirements
Metabolizable energy requirement has been calculated using the Waltham daily energy
requirement calculation (My Cocker Spaniel, 2002).
MER = 110 x (body weight in kilograms 3KG)0.75 = 285 for active Japanese chin weight
3kg (My cocker spaniel, 2002).
Other requirements
Calcium
Using the European Pet Food Industry Federation Guidelines, the calculation is to know
the amount of calcium needed;
1.25/1000x 285 (MER) = 0.002225grams of calcium per day (The European pet food
industry federation, 2013).
For calcium, there is only a miniscule amount needed which will be found in the food
that is given to the dog. Which is there is too much given to the dog it can cause skeletal
problems such as decreased bone density (Lee, 2017).
Phosphorous
Calcium and phosphorous levels need to have a suitable ratio to fulfil their duties within
the body. Furthermore, calcium and phosphorous ratios or often 2:1 but can vary
depending on the animal and situation (International plant nutrition institute, 1999).

Essay On Joint Stock Company
The company form of business ownership has become very popular in modern business
on account of its several advantages.
Following are the advantages of Joint Stock Company
1. Large capital resources
A company can secure large capital compared to a sole trader or partnership. A joint stock
company has widespread appeal to the investors of all the types. Its capital is divided
into shares of small value so that the people with limited means can also buy them.
There is no limit on the number of shareholders in a public company. In addition, a
company can borrow from banks to a large extent due to its high credit standing and also
issue debentures to public
2. Limited Liability
The liability of members in a company form of organization is limited to the unpaid
amount on the face value of shares held
In company limited by shares, the liability of members is limited to the unpaid value
of the shares. For example, if the face value of a share in a company is Rs. 100 and a
member has already paid Rs. 70per share, he can be called upon to pay not more than
Rs. 30 per share during the lifetime of the company.
The limited liability encourages many persons to invest in shares of joint stock
companies. In the case of a company limited by guarantee, his liability is restricted to the
amount that he has guaranteed to contribute in the event of winding up of the company.
3. Perpetual succession
When a company is incorporated, it becomes a separate legal entity. A company has

Ritz Carlton Case Study
Introduction to the Company
The Ritz Carlton Hotel Company is one of the premier hotel management companies in
the world today. Their goal of providing world class service to its guests is rooted in
tradition.
History
The Ritz Carlton tradition begins in the early 1900s in Europe. Caesar Ritz a well known
hotelier transformed the Ritz Paris and the Carlton in London into the redefined standard
of luxury hotels in the early 1900s. Caesar Ritz died in 1918 but his wife continued the
expansion of hotels bearing his name (http://corporate.ritzcarlton.com/en/About

communications manager, as well as a General Manager for each location (http:/
/corporate.ritzcarlton.com/en/Press/Default.htm).
There are over 28 different service areas within the hotel chain ranging from things like
Food and Beverage and Housekeeping to Brand Management and Healthcare Services.
One of the most amazing things about the Ritz Carlton s organizational structure is how
involved each and every employee is with the guest s experience. In every functional area
of the hotel there is a lineup each morning. In this lineup the department meets and the
associates who are going off duty explains the guest situations and requests to the
employees who are coming onto a shift. The front line employees are required to fill out
guest preference cards for guests who make comments about things that they like or
dislike while staying at a hotel. These notes are then given to the Guest Recognition
Coordinator who would then enter them into the Encore software system.
Strategic Goals
The strategic goal of the Ritz Carlton is to build seamless customer driven service
systems that would anticipate a guest s needs and preferences, and at the same time
Women s Health Media Analysis
The media industry has such a strong voice and power when it comes to what us the
people get to see. When a certain type of media is released, whether it be
advertisements, magazines, commercials, etc.. the industry does have something to tell
us and wants us to interpret that message. Now depending on if the viewers actually
decode what the industry is saying or not saying is completely on them, it doesn t affect
the industry because at the end of the day the media can also be whatever you want it to
be. The Women s Health is a great example of the construction of manipulation by the
media through the use of text and images. One can conclude that in order to fully grasp

Type and imagery play a very important role in captivating the viewers attention, as
well as altering how you interpret things. The Women s Health magazine uses this
strategy to draw viewers in by connecting health and being sexy. This particular
magazine used sexually revealing photographs as well as making the word sexy
dominant enough to allow one to assume that the magazine is trying to say that if you
want to look and feel sexy like this model, then you must read our information. Which is
altering the women s minds to maybe purchase the magazine due to low self esteem or
other reasons, whether the viewer knows that s the message or not. Before purchasing or

better understanding of the message as a
The Star Wars Franchise Can Best Be Described As Mixed
At this stage, my relationship status with the Star Wars franchise can best be described as
mixed.
There have been bumps in the road, but overall, I have had a lifelong appreciation,
some might say obsession, with Star Wars episodes 4 6 especially; so much so that as a
youth:
I read the novelization of Star Warsan innumerable amount of times (don t ask me to
recall anything); as well taking multiple trips to the library to read articles and
companion books about the Star Wars universe. Big deal you might say, but I will
admit, even now, to not being the most voracious of readers so this was in fact quite a
feat of accomplishment for me. Founded my own Star Wars fan club at my elementary

But I digress.
All of this to say Star Wars was a major part of my life. And in many ways, I can credit
these three films being one part of what got me so passionate about movies. In fact, I
give them a lot of credit.
Even as I got older and my cinematic tastes broadened and came to include multiple
genres, there were still moments of fond recollection as I recalled these films. During
my college years, I paid service to this mindset going to the re release of at least one
film (I think it was The Empire Strikes Back). If my roommate is reading this, I hope she
will confirm which one(s) me might have seen in Charlottesville.
So, you can imagine my excitement at the very mention of prequels (Episodes 1 3) ...

Needless to say, it did feel like a part of my childhood had been decimated by a world
weary, adult level of cynicism. It followed that seeing these films felt more like an
obligation than an event one meets great anticipation. I feared, maybe the magic was
gone forever.
Years of dormancy followed, filled with the continued excitement of simply going to the
movies, attending film festivals and just the business of getting on with one s adult life.

is safeguarding children and the roles and responsibilities of the local authorities.
The Every Child Matters Guidelines led to the Children Act of 2004, a revision of The
Children Act 1989, as a direct result of the death of Victoria Climbe`, and the manner in
which this was handled.
108 recommendations for change to the piece of legislation were made in order to
improve child protection and safeguarding within the United Kingdom. The 5 main
recommendations were, a closer working relationship between all agencies working
with children and young people, a central database of all children and to which agencies
they are known, an independent children s commissioner to protect the rights of
children and young people, a child and families board chaired by a government minister,
and finally OFSTED will set up a framework, which will monitor all children centric
services.
The United Nation Convention on the Rights of the Child essentially states that children
and young people have the same rights as every other human being, be that civil, cultural,
The Leadership Styles In The Book Of Esther
The Book of Esther: Leadership Styles Leadership is a position held by someone who
takes control and directs a group in order to accomplish the goals within an organization.
Adapting to the demands of each situation to meet the requirements and challenges of the
people within the organization can have positive or negative results for a leader. The
book of Esther reveals a few different people who demonstrate leadership. Throughout
the story King Ahasuerus, Haman, Mordecai, and Esther show their leadership styles
and how it affects the people. The book of Esther is a story of a young, beautiful,
Jewish girl who ultimately became queen. At the time, King Ahasuerus reigned over
the Persian Empire. He threw lavish banquets for his officials as well as all the people
in Susa. The night of the seventh banquet, he called for Queen Vashti so he can flaunt
her in front of the people but she refused to come. He sought council on how to handle
the queen s actions, he gave a decree and then ordered her to leave the kings presence

Mordecai, Esther s cousin and also the man who raised her, subsequently learned of a
plot to assassin the king. He told Esther of the plot and she sequentially told the king.
Mordecai was recognized for his act of kindness by the king. Meanwhile Haman, the
king s highest official, was angry with Mordecai and wanted him and all the Jews
killed. Once more, Mordecai learned of this plot and told Esther. After fasting, she
approached the king and delivered the news and also let him know her true identity. The
king was enraged with Haman and ordered Haman s death. As a result, Mordecai was
granted Haman s high position and all the Jews in the land were

Analysis of The House of Spirits by Isabel Allende Essay
After being accused of being possessed by the devil and visited by her Uncle Marco s
dead body, Clare del Valle began to keep a diary. Fifty years later, her journal was used to
solve the puzzle of a family history. In The House of Spirits, Isabel Allende tells the
story of many generations of a family in Latin America. There are three prominent themes
in The House of Spirits by Isabel Allende. First, the social divide between those who are
civilized and those who are supposed barbarians. Second, the influence of women and
their role in society. Third, the clash between social classes.
The first major theme in The House of Spirits is the division between civilization and
savagery. The country in which the story takes place remains... Show more content on

Every woman in The House of Spirits is a protagonist, who each work in different ways
to protect their rights. Alba, Clara, and Blanca remain the focus of the story, while the
men enter through means of love and marriage. The major events that dominate the story
are experiences central to these women, including childbirth, sexual and physical
violence, and abortion. Besides Nivea s devotion to female suffrage, the women rarely
condemn gender inequality for their struggles. Each woman s life is, however, scarred
by this. The women in The House of the Spirits are strong women who do not submit to
mistreatment. The women affect more permanent and extreme changes than any of the
men implement. For example, the men lead revolutions that temporarily collapsed the
government, and soon after those revolutions failed. The women have more exquisite
methods. By teaching people to read and to write and to practice health care, by setting
curses, and by refusing to speak aloud increases productivity in implementing long
lasting change in society. For example, when Clara s husband, Esteban, abuses her, she
stops speaking to him. She then restores her maiden name, and moves out of Tres
MarГas and back to the city, with her daughter Blanca. However, she preserves a civil
relationship with him until her demise. Acting out violently against Esteban may have
been effective temporarily, but not speaking to him enforced a permanent change in their
The Importance Of Mass Communication
In today s society, worldwide communication is at the palm one s hands. In just
seconds, someone can send a message to someone halfway across the world with very
little effort. The mass use of this fast as light communication can cause one to become so
accustomed to it that they see it as the norm. Due to this exponential increase in
technology, it is easy to forget about how message were communicated before there was
any technology available to communicate with. Mass communication traces back all the
way to a time before even written languages had been created. The root of all
communication was storytelling. For people like the Ancient Greeks, though, storytelling
was much more than just a form of communication. It was a form of art and
entertainment. Some people s job was solely to tell stories. Bards and minstrel were
tasked with entertaining people, especially royalty and the elite, with stories from the
past. However, entertainment does not express the true value of storytelling in Ancient
Greece. The real reason storytelling was so prominent is those time was because it was
a form of survival. Storytelling as a mode of survival is prominently seen in Homer s
work, The Odyssey. The main character, Odysseus, uses storytelling as a tactic to stay
alive during his hero quest. In many situations throughout the work, his skill at telling
stories prevents him from being killed and helps him get closer to returning to his home
in Ithaca. Storytelling was crucial to
Buffy The Vampire Slayer Language
After getting a chance to watch the episode Hush of Buffy the Vampire Slayer it is
clear understand why this show was a hit amongst viewers. The episode made headlines
because of how it used no dialogue throughout to create a storyline that actually worked.
It needed no background information to understand the characters and their relationships
with each other. The episode was praised because of this. It was known as one of the best
episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayerconsidering it was nominated for an Emmy for
Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series and Outstanding Cinematography for a Single
Camera Series. Even though the cast were unable to speak using language, they still
found ways to communicate with each other. This illustrates the... Show more content on

The cast uses gestures and writing implements to communicate with each other to
come up with solutions to destroy the monsters. This can come as a struggle for the
cast or very beneficial to the characters. For example, how Giles comforts Buffy and
Willow but touching buffy shoulder and giving willow a reassuring look. Shows how
impact of small, kind gestures can still be beneficial. However, it can also be
misleading. When Buffy makes a gesture about staking the monster gets misinterpreted,
until she pulls a staking and repeats the gesture. This prove most beneficial when Buffy
and Riley work together to defeat the gentlemen . Riley and Buffy use their great
fighting skills to fight off the monsters. Although there was a misunderstanding the first
time. Buffy is able to get Riley to break the box of voices by just looking at it. This
allowed for them to regain their voices. Their body language and gestures proves to show
how impactful they can be to communicate with one
Socialization Victor And Genie Summary
Nancy, I do agree with you that socialization is very important to learn speak and
function normally in society. After watching the video again, I can t help thinking
about the question posed to us. Are Genie s socialization problems due to isolation or
biological problems? In both in Victor and Genie s case, these individuals were
isolated from social contact for many years of their life. They missed out on
socialization during the crucial early developmental years. In our reading, it discusses
some typical stages that that happen in our lives. Genie was in isolation for 12 years
and missed out on such as things as social interaction, since her contact with other
people was limited she did not develop how to interact and respond to others. Her
isolation did not allow her to establish rules that would guide her on in how to behave
and be treated in social settings. Hence, when Genie would erupt in silent storms of rage,
tugging and tearing her body.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the time that she was studied, they monitored a test on her brain waves done
over the course of four nights. The results showed that she had abnormal brain waves
it was determined that Genie s brain was damaged. The evaluators were unsure if this
was a birth defect or if it was caused by abuse. This conclusion was often argued during
the course of the study and afterwards as well. Could other factors contribute to the
results? What was the mental health of other family members such as a history of
brain damage in the family? Could she be brain damaged due to physical abuse? What
was the social environment that her parents grew up in? Were they somehow
influenced by society to keep Genie locked away because she was brain damaged and
didn t fit in? Could she have had Autism? It is hard to determine if Genie did not
advance in language acquisition because of her age or if there were other unknown
factors limiting her
What Is Tap Water Healthier Than Bottled Water
People should do more to avoid drinking bottled water because tap water is safe and
healthier than bottled water, then second reason is tap water take less consumption to
make, and it is cheaper than bottled water and third reason is tap water does not affect
environment as bottled water. Tap water is safe and healthier than bottled waterbecause it
is tasted everyday by municipal water supply while bottled water plant are inspected
just once every three years. According to msn news, water bottling plants are required to
test coliform bacteria just once a week but municipal water system does it several times
in a day. A research done by Dr. William shotyk found that PET bottles leach a dangerous
toxin called antimony into water they contain.

Balancing School With Work And Life Essay
Balancing School with Work and LifeBalancing work, school and life is a juggle that
many of us find ourselves dealing with. It can be very challenging unless you find a way
to make it work for you and your family. It s not easy but in the end it will pay off and
you will be very happy that you have completed your degree. I have tried many times to
go back to schoolto get my degree. But I couldn t settle on any particular major. First it
was accounting and then criminal justice with a minor in astronomy. Then I took a
break, went back to school, and started a new area of study as a paralegal. But then I had
a lot of things go wrong in my life and just too much happening so I took time off again.

Right know I barely have any days off because they are split and I work two nights
overnight. And the days I do have off are when I get off work at 6am. On the days I
work overnight I find myself coming home, letting my dogs out, getting the horses
feed, and then going in and studying for an hour or so. I only get a few hours of sleep
before I have to get back up to get some of my household chores done and going to
karate class. On the other days, I try and get an hour of study time in and then relax.
On weekends I usually work in the mornings and then come home to let my animals
out, spend some time with them and then get some study time in. After studying for a
bit, I try and get some household stuff done, helping my parents out with stuff around
their place, working outside. My horse likes to cause trouble and escape so I am
forever fixing fence line and dealing with him. Trying to balance school, work, and life
in general is hard, but it is rewarding. I have to commit myself to getting things done
and not put them off. I know I have a lot on my plate but I know that if I work hard
and continue to pace myself I can do it. I just have to make the time to do it and decide

William Shakespeare s Julius Caesar
Antony s Funeral Oration in Julius Caesar, and Why It Wouldn t Stand in Court
Circumstantial evidence is a very tricky thing. It may seem to point very straight to one
thing, but if you shift your own point of view a little, you may find it pointing in an
equally uncompromising manner to something entirely different. Sir Arthur Conan
Doyle. What does circumstantial evidencehave to do with a speech, you may ask? In a
manner of speaking, everything, for the evidence maketh the speech. In William
Shakespeare s Julius Caesar, a long winded Marc Antony had the wiles to manipulate a
large plebian crowd to mutiny during Caesar s funeral, using only simple words that
were cleverly twisted to prove his point. Before humans learned the concept of
applying reasonable doubt to each and every scenario, Antony had a surefire way of
winning over the citizens. But as we evolved and have become more knowledgeable, a
speech like that would evoke demanding yells of, Where s the proof? As the gaping
holes of logic are made clear in Antony s funeral oration, we begin to see what sorts of
artifices made his speech so cunning; its use of circumstantial evidence applied in the
correct context, its largely emotional pleas, and its desperate engagement of the citizens
by telling them what they want to hear. In this way, Marc Antony is nothing more than a
demagogue, and his respective speech is nothing more than a series of words that subject
the plebian crowd to sheer demagoguery.
Dream Interpretation For Shoes
Shoe Dream Meanings I cried because I had no shoes till I met a man who had no feet

from stepping on anything that could harm them; therefore, shoes are symbolic for
protection. Most likely, protecting your body or an Earthly possession. If you re

If a man was wearing high heels in a dream, most likely he would feel uncomfortable

who had been suppressing his desire of dressing up as a woman. A woman who is has
a shoe addiction may feel thrill of wearing a new pair of shoes. Or another meaning is
she needs to wear a pair of heels she already owns. The following dream is a personal

me not to bother watching the second half that it was not worth it. I was upset and
angry because I really wanted to watch it. I looked over to where the service manager

Chipotle Incident Summary
This report was commissioned to examine the Chipotle E.Coli outbreak that took place in
the last quarter of 2015 and the internal crisis that ensued causing stocks to plummet and
customers slow to regain trust. This research draws attention to the managerial strategies
attempted after the outbreak to bounce back from the Foodwith Integrity broken promise.
Chipotle started off strong in 1993 with its creative new take on a fast foodrestaurant by
using fresh ingredients, which was sustainably grown, and showed respect for the
animals, land, and farmers. This aspect of Chipotle is what helped it stand out amongst
its competitors. The diligence put into preparing and catering the food to the guests is
the epitome of exceptional customer service; thus leading to an exponential rise in sales
and stock value for the company. Debatably, the root of Chipotle s issues has been
leadership challenges and teamwork mismatches. This report re counts the events that

coli outbreak can be seen as exacerbating the problem, even though they were trying to
find ways to resolve the problem. As, as the crisis began, leadership coming from CEO
Steve Ells and Co CEO Monty Moran portrayed repudiation. One of the first decisions
made in reaction to the E. coli outbreak was to purchase full paid advertisements. This
marketing tactic was a ploy to mask the severity of the epidemic, soothe investors, and
retain loyal customers. In addition to paper ads, Chipotle decided to advertise using
direct mail and television advertisements (Wahba, 2016). This practice did not correlate
with traditional chipotle advertising; before the outbreak, their last paid advertisement
took place in 2012. Chipotle has always operated in a fashion that let their brand, and
high quality products speak for themselves. However, both Ells and Moran felt that the
time to promote their brand was needed more than
King Henry Viii Of England
Henry VIII of England[1509 1547] By Kent McMahon King Henry VIII of England is
the most infamous and notorious of all the Monarchs of England. He was a vile and
heartless man who beheaded over 72,000 people in his 38 year reign and called for
public celebration when his first wife, Catherine of Aragorn died on the 7th of
January,1536. King Henry VIII was born on the 28th of June,1491 in Greenwich
Palace. He was the 3rd of seven children of King Henry VII, the first Tudor king, and
Elizabeth of York. Out of the seven children, only 4 survived infancy Prince Arthur,
Princess Margaret, Prince Henry and Princess Mary. Henry s father, King Henry VII,
unified the divided country when he killed the last Plantagenet King, Richard III. The
country had been divided in a civil war known as The War of the Roses with two sides
of the Plantagenet dynasty, the House of Lancaster and the House of York, fighting
over the throne. Both houses were descendants of two of the sons of Edward III. The
House of Lancaster, descended from John of Gaunt, was represented by a Red Rose.
The House of York, descended from Edmund of Langley, was represented by the white
rose. By 1461, the Yorkists had succeeded in becoming the royal house in England. With
the Yorkist King Richard III becoming increasingly unpopular, Henry Tudor ,a
descendant of John of Gaunt, gained the support of the country and decided to put

  • 4. Circuit City Failure There are three major reasons why businesses fail: lack of money, lack of knowledge and lack of support. It is not enough to have a great product. You also have to develop a unique value proposition, without you will get lost among the competition. There is no mystery as to why Circuit City filed bankruptcy on Nov. 10. Circuit City was very successful in the 1980s and 1990s, but they never changed after that. Circuit City became complacent. Their locations were out of the way for consumers and they never secured prime real estate for their stores. It didn t move as aggressively into gaming as it should have. And it missed out on big in store promotions with thriving companies like Apple Computer. That created an opening for Best Buy, now the top electronics chain in the U.S., to surge ahead. Finally, Circuit City neglected to improve its web presence, just as online retailers like Amazon.com were hitting their stride. While all this was happening, their customer service took a major... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To make sure that we are all working in the same direction, each of us must live and breathe Circuit City s values and use them as a guidepost for our actions and decisions. There s no plan in here for success. This doesn t sound like a competitive plan, or even one that will meet with any success. It s entirely elementary. Best Buy s mission statement reads as follows, To offer customers a perspective they can trust in the midst of techno stress and make technology live up to its promises for people everywhere. The statement is customer oriented, which means that it is focused on satisfying customer needs and solving their problems. They claim to learn what customers want and not giving them what they think they need. This is absolutely a great mission

  • 7. A Comparison Of Johann Sebastian Bach And George Frideric... Although numerous composers have shown their musicality from different musical periods, only some of the remarkably talented ones are still remembered and honored. Such composers compositions are performed all around the world even today. From the Baroque period, Johann Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel are the two most renowned composers. Even though both of their compositions are considered to be well written, they have shown completely different musical styles. Bach composed pieces that are extremely complicated and intense, whereas Handel emphasized simplicity and clearness in his work. Since their approaches in composing music completely differ, it is improper to deduce who is better as they both are successful in their own unique ways. However, audiences in the Baroque period had a strong opinion as to who is more successful. Many musical experts from the Baroque period tend to indicate that Bach should have adopted Handel s musical styles in order for him to be even more acknowledged as a composer. According to the John Hawkins s A General History of the Science and Practice of Music, Johann Sebastian Bachwas born into a musical family. He was the son of a formal musician, John Ambrose Bach and the younger brother of an organist, John Christopher Bach. From a young age, Johann Sebastian Bach has learned to play Harpsichord and Organ. With these instruments, he started to pursue his career in music as an organist and a chamber musician at many churches.

The giants hail from Jotunheim, the fire giants from Muspelheim, the elves from Alfheim, dwarves reside in Svartalfheim, the Midgard serpent resides in Midgard, and Hel herself resides in Helheim (McCoy). The most notable monsters of mythology happen to be Loki s own children. Fenrir is depicted as a giant wolf. He was raised by the gods in order to keep him under control. The Midgard serpent is depicted as a giant snake wrapped around the Earth with its tail in its mouth. Hel is a giantess and goddess and rules over Helheim, the realm of the dead (Norse Mythology for Smart People). These three bring about Ragnarok. Ragnarok itself is known as the Doom of the Gods (McCoy). The end starts with the death of Baldr by Loki. After this the realms fall into chaos. Fenrir and Loki break free of their chains and giants descend on Asgard. Thor faces a tragic end going up against Jormungand, the Midgard serpent, each slaying the other. Fenrir goes on to swallow and destroy everything in his path before Odin stepped in to stop him. Odin himself though he fought valiantly was killed by Fenrir. Fenrir was then destroyed by a lesser known son of Odin s Vidar. After the death of Odin the end came and silence of Ginnunggagap or the anti cosmic void was once again

Thankfully we don t have to live through that anymore. Why? Because faults in the society lead to its failure. All societies fail, but why? Corrupt leaders, lack of resources, and failure in security can all lead to the downfall of a society. Now not all societies fail for these reasons, but Nazi Germany, ancient India, Rome, and the Glade, a fiction society in The Maze Runner book by James Dashner, have. The are usually many faults in our governmentand every government whatever type of government it is. Leaders are very important in a society because everyone looks up to the leader, but what happens when the leader is corrupted? Bad things happen when a leader is corrupted, It happened in Germanyand in The Maze Runner. In the Glade they have a council of Keepers who run the government. The Keepers are like the CEO of one of the many jobs at the Glade. The Keepers make the laws and vote on issues. Gally is one of the Keepers on the council. Gally is a bully. He threatened to kill Tomas more than once and has hurt other citizens in the Glade. Gally also does not respect their government system. He wants to be the only leader. I really enjoy the warm weather because it s the perfect atmosphere to do outdoor activities. My favorite part about summer has to be the fact that school is closed for two months. Summer time is a great time to relax with friends and family by soaking up the sun at a beach or simply having dinner together. One of my favorite summer pastimes is staying up late watching movies and eating junk food, and then waking up late and having brunch. Summer season is the best time for festivals and activities. You can never get bored on a summer day or night. During the day, there are fun activities such as: swimming, sports, picnics, and barbeques. Friends and family spend a lot of time together during the summer time. There is a lot of good food, drinks, and fun music. Everyone is laughing and having a good time. Summer evenings are the best time for concerts, movies, parties, and relaxing with friends. The summer evenings are beautiful because of the sparkly and glittery city lights. One of the best events of the year, July Fourth, happens during summer. The celebration of July fourth is very extravagant and glamorous. People gather around to celebrate and watch the display of fireworks. The vibrant colors and the loud sound of the fireworks are amazing. Overall, summer is just a wonderful season with so much to offer. The best thing about this time of the year is that everyone is so happy, whereas, compared to the winter, everyone is
  • 11. Culture Clash In House Of Sand And Fog By Amy Tan The world has a variety of cultures and religions, and in this generation these different cultures mix. It is not easy for some people to accept these different faiths and morals, however they learn to day by day. In books such as House of Sand and Fog by Andre Dubus III and The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan, the authors convey the theme of the clash of cultures. Writing books about different cultures and the struggle of their acceptance, is crucial for modern society because it gives the world a realistic view on what is actually happening. Perhaps the message the authors are trying to send with the theme of culture clash, is that because of all the different cultures, people should learn to accept the variety. When one finds themselves far from the social idea of perfect there is a strong need to improve. While self improvement is hard, it is also a necessary part of life, setting goals for how one wants their life to turn out. Addiction is a huge obstacle in the way of perfection it can destroy lives when the person with the addiction does not want to change. The body s dependency on drugs becomes so strong after a while it does not know how to survive without them; it keeps waiting to have a need filled, like hunger. At treatment centers, there are detoxifying drugs that help to ease the transition between the addictions from street drugs without causing the body to shut down, slowly easing the body back into its normal state. When James first arrives in rehab, he is put on these detoxifying drugs, as they start to wear off he starts to feel the effects of the damage he has done to himself. As he is waiting for a refill, he describes, As the line moves forward I start to feel anxious and nervous and angry. With each step closer to the drugs, the feelings become stronger. • 14. Implementing A New Software Or Equipment Or Launching Your... You ll also need to research the current competitive landscape in order to understand whether the proposed idea or action is viable. Whether you are implementing a new software or equipment or launching your own new product, you need to compare the proposed product or service with other similar items on the market. This might mean you need to compare the feasibility of your chosen software (for example, accounting platform) with other products on the market. What are the benefits of your proposed choice and what are the weaknesses? Are the risks associated with your chosen software smaller or bigger than those of competitive products? The same analysis applies when launching a new product. Part of your feasibility study must then focus on understanding what the customers are looking for and whether your proposed idea answers these needs. You should also compare the proposed product with the existing products or services and focus on the advantages, as well as disadvantages, you might have. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. What does circumstantial evidencehave to do with a speech, you may ask? In a manner of speaking, everything, for the evidence maketh the speech. In William Shakespeare s Julius Caesar, a long winded Marc Antony had the wiles to manipulate a large plebian crowd to mutiny during Caesar s funeral, using only simple words that were cleverly twisted to prove his point. In this way, Marc Antony is nothing more than a demagogue, and his respective speech is nothing more than a series of words that subject the plebian crowd to sheer demagoguery.
