Anorexia And Bulimia Essay
INTRODUCTION
The rise in eating disorders has captured the attention of both medical and dental professionals. A
dental hygienist may be the first professional to detect an eating disorder due to the oral
complications that are associated with the condition (Foster, 2017). Eating disorders are described
as a persistent disturbance of eating behavior or behavior intended to control weight, which
significantly impairs physical health or psychosocial functioning (Fairburn Walsh, 2003). There are
several types of eating disorders and sufferers may have a combination of disorders. Among eating
disorders, anorexia and bulimia nervosa are the most common (The British Psychological Society,
2004). This review will discuss the psychological and behavioral traits associated with anorexia and
bulimia nervosa, as well as the systemic and dental consequences.
Research has shown, most cases of anorexia and bulimia nervosa begin during adolescence, with
the growth of social media being linked to one of the causal factors (The British Psychological
Society, 2004). There is some evidence suggesting roles of genetic, neurobiological and
sociocultural factors as well (The British Psychological Society, 2004). Morbidity and mortality
rates may be higher because individuals with eating disorders often deny the extent of their fasting,
binge eating and purging behaviors (Steinberg, 2012).
Anorexia nervosa is a mental disorder in which a person maintains a low weight as a result of a

How Did Robber Barons Affect The Economy
Money makes the world go around so that people could either become rich or poor. The whole
issue with businesses came up in the 18th 19th century and was created by two factions in US
history, the Robber Barons and the Captains of Industry. These two are what made the way
America s economy it is today. The Robber Baronsand the Captains of industry were both very
similar but completely different with how they operated in the economic world. Robber Barons
made wealth in a variety of ways but still maintained the sense of thieves from the way they
attained their wealth and treated their people hence forth their name. The Robber Barons were
considered a unlikable form of business because of the effect they had a negative effect on the...

Another Businessman who was partial to Robber Barons may have been John D. Rockefeller for his
method of attaining a large share of the oil industry many believed that Rockefeller gained his
power in the Oil Industry by somehow building a monopoly. However through careful of study
Rockefeller simply used horizontal consolidation to bring different firms with the same business
together. It could not be called a monopoly because they did not merge into one company. John
D. Rockefeller did establish trusts or Board of Trusties, which controlled the entire process of
making and controlling a product which was extremely similar to that of a monopoly. Because of
Rockefeller s Horizontal Consolidation, he did not violate any laws. When he was also near the
end of his life Rockefeller also like Carnegie engaged in philanthropy and gave back to the
community. On more than one occasion businessmen have resorted to violence of their own by
hiring the Pinker tons to handle any upstart or union. Those who have been ordered to carry out a
task are not the ones stained by it, but those who have given the orders are. Robber Barons were
also excessively competitive and would attempt to either take control of a competitor or drive the
business into the ground together. When they perform this, they start to develop monopolies to take
total control of a product, which is not legal. Their competitive streak made them more prone to
pollution and to the draining the

Duke Students And Workers In Solidarity Summary
Summary
This past Friday nine students, members of Duke Students Workers in Solidarity have been
protesting a sit in on Duke University campus in the Allen Administration building, while
supporters camped outside on campus grounds. The students have been researching the history of
workers rights and political organization, while looking into the treatment of Duke s lowest paid
employees, which has become the central theme of the protest. The protest started out about an
incident relating to a parking lot incident involving a senior administrator, Mr. Trask two years
ago, who hit a parking attendant, made a racial slur and drove away. He never admitted to any of
the charges, however apologized to the attendant for his conduct. This week ... Show more content

I decided to write about this article instead, which I found extremely interesting. I thought about
how refreshing it was to read about students taking on issues of economic inequalities for campus
workers, who some may feel don t really affect them or concern them. As stated in the summary,
Duke is no stranger to sit ins as a similar protest in 1999n was organized to ensure the university
was not using sweatshops to manufacture Duke clothing. What is this saying about Duke
University? Is Duke a promoter of cheap labor and paying low wages to their employees? From a
public relations position it is concerning for the reputation of the university, the community who
depends on Duke for employment and students who attend the university. The learning that comes
from this is that students are realizing their legal rights to politically organize protests, and they
are winning. The concerns and needs of college workers have seemed to have been overlooked by
Duke University. The college operates in a bureaucratic sense. Much in the same way the
government is more concerned with process and procedures at the expense of efficiency or common

Designing A Surrogate Server And Its Numerical Ip Address
In this approach, the DNS performs the mapping between a surrogate server s symbolic name and
its numerical IP address.
It is used for full site content selection and delivery.
In DNS based request routing, a domain name has multiple IP addresses associated to it. When
an end user s content request comes, the DNS server of the service provider returns the IP
addresses of servers holding the replica of the requested object. The client s DNS resolver
chooses a server among these. To decide, the resolver may issue probes to the servers and choose
based on response times to these probes. It may also collect historical information from the clients
based on previous access to these servers.
Advantage:
пЃ¬DNS based approach is extremely popular ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
URL rewriting
Though most CDN systems use a DNS based routing scheme, some systems use the URL
rewriting. It is mainly used for partial site content selection and delivery where embedded objects
are sent as a response to client requests.
In this approach, the origin server redirects the clients to different surrogate servers by rewriting
the dynamically generated pages URL links. For example, with a Web pagecontaining an HTML
file and some embedded objects, the Web serverwould modify references to embedded objects so
that the client could fetch them from the best surrogate server.
To automate this process, CDNs provide special scripts that transparently parse Web page content
and replace embedded URLs
URL rewriting can be pro active or reactive.
пЃ¬In the pro active URL rewriting, the URLs for embedded objects of the main HTML page are
formulated before the content is loaded in the origin server.
пЃ¬In reactive approach involves rewriting the embedded URLs of a HTML page when the client
request reaches the origin server.
Advantage:
The main advantage of URL rewriting is that the clients are not bound to a single surrogate server,
because the rewritten URLs contain DNS names that point to a group of surrogate servers. Also
finer level of granularity can be achieved through this approach since embedded objects can be
considered

Annotated Lolita Analysis
A Postcolonial view of The Annotated Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov
The infamous story of Lolita by author Vladimir Nabokov has been a controversial one since its
first release in America in November 1958. The publishing world and the average readers were
not prepared or interested in reading a story about a middle aged pedophile and his twelve year
old stepdaughter. People were outraged by the book and were repulsed by it, but as the moth is
drawn to the flame, so are curious minds and within one week, Lolita became a best selling book.
Author Vladimir Nabokov was born in Russia on April 22, 1899 during a time when socially
acceptable rules were very different than what we practice in today s society. During the 19th
century in Europe, it was common for a man to marry a young girl of only 10 years of age. We
can only speculate, that Nabokov writes about the sexual relationship between father and daughter
as acceptable through the eyes of Humbert, since this may have been behavior that was familiar to
him through friends and family in Russia and his travels throughout Europe. In this story, we can
apply the postcolonial theory to the Western born Humbert to the colonization of Dolores Haze.
The Europeans invaded America and wanted them to convert to their culture. They also help power

such a young age and without family and no alternative, she felt as if she had nowhere else to go.

Waking Up Teens Analysis
In these two texts, both authors informed their readers on how and why technology impacted
society as well as introduced claims that these impacts were a main factors in human evolution.
Schools should provide blue light for students because, according to the passages, it improves
learning by making them more alert, allowing them to rest well enough to be prepared for school
and giving them and help alleviate sleeping disorders among the students.
If students were to be more awake in the morning, they would have no problem retaining the
information that they learn throughout the day. In Selection 2, Waking Up Teens, when at the
beginning of the passage, it says, Teenagers morning drowsiness is often caused by out of tune
body clocks... Scientists now say that timing exposure to blue light avoiding it during the first
two hours of being awake, then getting a good dose of it can help restore the sleep cycle... (Wake
Up Teens, Paragraph 1) If schools were to install blue lights, this could make students wake up
early and balance their hormones or clocks . This could benefit not only the students but the schools
because test scores and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Selection 2, Waking Up Teens, after explaining how Erin s sleeping problems were alleviated,
Figueiro says, If you apply the light after your minimum core body temperature, you re going to
advance the clock so your re going to go to bed earlier and wake up earlier the next cycle...
Essentially, teens will be able to wake up fully rested if they were to have blue light at the right
time of day. This would benefit schools tremendously because they would have less tardy students
and a higher attendance rate. This, along with sleeping disorders could be managed if schools
would just make the small transition to blue

Case #1, page 60: The Gray Whale versus the Makah Tribe, their decision to hunt the whale to instill
pride in the traditions of its culture to younger generations, and the environmental impact of this
action upon the sustainability of the gray whale population.
The parties involved in this matter are the members of the tribe, both for and against the decision,
the whales, the environmentalists, the courts that will settle the lawsuits and future generations that
might be affected by any decision in regards to the impact on the whales sustainability. The
decision at stake here is whether it is moral to revoke the ban and recent tradition, ... Show more

In terms of the utility of this decision to hunt the gray whale, the tribal leaders are attempting to
instill a pride and happiness in the tribe s traditions to bolster their youth. They are not concerned in
the possible consequences of the actions this hunt may environmentally cause later down the road
to the whale population. In Kant s Theory we learned that Kant objected to the idea that morality
could depend on consequences (Burnor and Raley 156), thus the tribe utilizing Kant s theory by
primarily being concerned with instilling pride in its cultural traditions at whatever the possible
cost. The Makah tribal leaders are motivated by their perceived cultural, moral duty to the younger
generations and what they ought to do (Burnor and Raley 217). The Makah tribe is attempting to
exercise its right of property concerning the whales, and its long historical, cultural tradition of
hunting them for rites of passage to manhood and pride. According to Locke this right of property
involves everything over which one should be able to control within their domain of autonomy
(Burnor and Raley 193). The Makah tribe feels it has autonomy over its traditions and religious
beliefs. The tribal leaders feel that they have the moral privilege under natural rights to utilize, or
exercise control over the gray whale

I Chose University Meadows Elementary School
I chose University Meadows Elementary School K 12 education center not because it was the
closes school in my neighborhood but because of the title that the Elementary school had. I
actually had three other schools that were in my neighborhood or close to it. I at first assumed
that the Elementary school was a private school because of the word University at the beginning of
the schools title. Also because of the title of the school I thought that the school I would be visiting
would be large, well funded, and have a verity of different students that attended the school. The
school turned out to be quite small from other Elementary schools that I had visited in my

So I had to settle with just being able to take pictures of the school and the diversities that the
students see every day. One sociological theme is illustrated throughout these photos. It is the
diversities that can be seen in a public school, in Mecklenburg County. The sociological
literature on the diversities in schooling includes several chapters we ve read, including Chapter
1 and chapter 7 readings. These chapters demonstrate diversities that can be seen in schools,
such as gender, race, and sexism. Together these readings support the patterns that the photos
reveal. This picture was taken in the main office where all visitors, students, and faculty can see.
They were self portraits drawn by students at the school, representing the diversity of students at
the school. Sadly it did not completely represent the diversity I saw in the students at the school,
while I was visiting. One of the most interesting things I saw and related back to class was the
traditional American Mercator maps that are seen in classrooms everywhere in America. They
do not represent the diversities seen in the other Mercator maps seen in class or Peters Projection
Maps. The picture on the left can be seen in the front of the main building. The picture on the
right can be seen on one of the playground areas outside of the class room. We grow up with the
idea, from an early age, that these are the only maps and views of the world when it comes to North
America. This picture

The Pet Food Industry
Over the period within which the pet food poisoning struck the pet owners limited communication
came from the Menu Pet Food Company. The silence of the company was likely as a result of
uncertainty of the firm about the presence of toxic components on the pet food products. The
silence was also elicited by the need of the company to lean on the shadows of the several other pet
foodmanufacturing firms in the market. The messages that the company offered to the public
were mostly directives on the types of products that were to be avoided by the customers. The
company s website only bore a picture of a dog crunching delicacy from even in the wake of anger
and fear that the pet owners had. (Pallak Babej,2007) The communications were majorly on the
recalls of the purchased products. The first recall was made on 16th March 2007.In the
announcement the company demanded that the pet owners desist from using products obtained
from two of the company s plants. However, the cases of deaths of the pets continued to be
reported from customers who obtained their products from Kansas and Emporia plants whose
products had initially been restricted. As a result, the company expanded its recall to encompass
particular products and specific dates of manufacture of the products (fda.gov).
On May 2nd the company continued its recall of the products and included products that were from
the plants that had used Chemo Nitra in its manufacturing process. The company claimed the

Freud Vs Frankl And Freud
Running Head: COMPARITIVE PERSONALITY THEORIES OF SIGMUND FREUD AND
VIKTOR FRANKL
Comparative Personality Theories of Sigmund Freud and Viktor Frankl
Luke McGeeney
William James College
For my comparison, I ll be looking at the theories of Sigmund Freud and Viktor Frankl, the creators
of both the first and third Viennese Schools of Psychotherapy, respectively. To begin with, I ll
examine Frankl s theory of existential analysis known as logotherapy. Logotherapy states that we as
human beings are conscious creatures, responsible for our choices and decisions in life. Frankl
proposed a dualistic view of human nature, which claimed that the unconscious is home to both
sides of humanity, with instinctual, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We are meant to become our truest selves by finding meaning in our lives, which, according to
Frankl, can come from three places: work, love, and our attitude in the face of horrific suffering
or difficulty. And at the center of this meaning is our responsibility and human right to choose. In
Frankl s theory, we all strive to fulfill a self chosen goal, from which meaning has the potential to
be found. And if no meaning is found, there is meaning yet to be found, or meaning to be drawn
from the apparent lack of meaning. Whatever the case, Frankl viewed man s lack of meaning as
the greatest existential crisis, the stress of this meaninglessness giving life and shape to all of our
neuroses.
This will to meaning is the culmination of our developmental process. To cultivate an individual
s capacity to find meaning in their life is the greatest goal, and the source of mankind s anxiety
and neuroses. We all wish to find the meaning within our life, and are unfulfilled when we miss
the mark. But according to Frankl, there is always meaning in life, in every single moment, from
one to the next we all are capable of making a choice about ourselves, and beyond that, have a
responsibility to do so. Even with the transitory nature of our existence and hopelessness in the face
of certain death, there is still meaning to be found, there is still freedom to be earned.
Unlike Freud s theory that mankind s

Feminist Judgments
Feminism: the advocacy of women s rights on the ground of equality of the sexes. The laws claims
to neutrality and objectivity have been challenged by the Feminist Judgements Project using
immanent critique to expose gender bias, reflecting the widely held belief that society will remain
underrepresented whilst the legal system is male dominated. The dynamic and innovative project
involves the creation of alternative feminist judgements to significant English cases. Within this
essay I will use the landmark judgement of R v A (No 2) to consider how a court without female
voices unconsciously favours male defendants before defending the feminist judgement.
R v A (No 2) was decided in 2001 within the House of Lords and involved a challenge under the
Human Rights Act to the rape shield section 41 of the Youth Justice and Criminal Evidence Act.
The complainant met the defendant on 26th May 2000 after forming a sexual relationship with the
defendant s housemate. On 13th June 2000 the three friends went out drinking on the bank of the

The Morality Of Genetically Modified Animals For The...
There are two sides to the morality of genetically modifying animals for the purpose of pharming
and xenotransplantation: the potential benefits and the reality. Although genetic modification of
mammals carries promises of being able to use said modified mammals as a source of materials
used in pharmaceuticals or creating mammalian species with organs that can be transplanted in
humans, the reality is that reproductive cloningin mammals has a low success rate. Because of the
high demand for organs including hearts, livers, and kidneys, scientists have since turned to
genetically modifying mammals such as pigs as a source of potential organs for transplant. This has
involved disruption of genes in pigs that cause tissue rejection in humans or knocking out genes that
allow transmission of retroviruses. Similarly, some sheep have been genetically modified to secrete
through their milk, the humanfactor IX needed by hemophiliacs. Despite these promising
advances, mammalian reproductive cloning still has a low success rate and a high probability of
developmental abnormalities. Even if a cloned animal does survive gestation and is not
spontaneously aborted, there is a likely chance that it will not survive long after birth. Other
abnormalities are frequently seen, such as liver and brain defects, cardiovascular problems, and
potential premature aging. This can be seen in Dolly, who had premature arthritis despite only
being six years old. Many consider reproductive cloning

Satire Analysis
The Power from Jokes
According to the psychologist, Daniel Goleman, People should be emotional intelligent. Goleman
is the author of Emotional Intelligence Why it can Matter More Than IQ formulates a different
definition of smart. The elements that create what it means to be emotionally intelligent are
incorporated to the figurative language, satire. Many comedians are using satire to expose flaws
and criticize the political system. Trevor Noah, a satirist, is a good example of how satire works
in comedy and how the audience reacts to it. The use of satire is so effective when it is
incorporated in comedy since it has the ability to challenge authority and have political influence.
First of all, the only difference between satire and criticism is that satire is implied and not
overtly stated. Satire is a form of being able to indicate human behavior disobedience and social
resistance. It derives from the Latin word satura meaning the involvement of basic principles of
stage show to the introduction of formal Latin comedy. Which is why satire is used mainly from
comedians. It also communicated in literature, internet, comics and cartoons. Comedians expose
most of work through the form of satire because it is a way to alert people by grabbing their
attention to something that they can laugh about instead of getting serious about it. It is not meant
to provoke any real change. Satire consists of a few characteristics like humor, irony, sarcasm,
critic, and implication. Satire

grew firmer as he progressed from line to line, and his voice went out across the desert, into the
whiteness, and around the three sitting women there in the great hot emptiness (Bradbury 99). This

these paradoxical assertions to represent the Electric Eyed Snake belly pump and, later, the

devoutly dead. The animal and nature imagery provides another important point in the tale. Nature

Uber, which started their business in Hong Kong in the middle of 2014, has aroused an intense

expansion has made all taxi drivers affected places envious (Entrepreneurhk, n.d.). Because of their
similarity in providing driving service, there is one after another protest by the local taxi drivers in
those countries. Meanwhile, Uber is still not legalized in Hong Kong. Then, should it be legalized
by the government? Based on its benefits, I strongly believe that it should be legalized in Hong

Many licensed drivers would choose to drive it as their part time occupation to earn extra
income. For example, some senior drivers would choose to drive it to earn part time income; it
provides chance for them to work again freely based on their schedule. Also, Uber drivers enjoy
higher flexibility in adjusting the fare that they can either offer a lower price by giving a
discount or a higher price on public holidays and weekends (Rott, 2013). However, taxi drivers
can only charge a fixed price; otherwise, they will receive complaints for overcharging. They can
only earn more by driving more. Besides, Uber drivers enjoy high autonomy as they are not
working as shift taxi drivers; instead, they can pick up passengers based on their free schedule.
In other words, it is much less stressful to drive an Uber rather than a taxi (UberPeople, n.d.).
Moreover, if Uber is legalized in Hong Kong, then its drivers are regarded as the employee, but
not self employed. In light of this, Uber needs to pay its drivers compensation for overtime and
holiday working, which allows Uber drivers to earn more, then their income are secured and they
are safeguarded by the law. Therefore, legalizing Uber should be advantageous to drivers in Hong

Essay on Celiac Disease
Nature of the disease Celiac disease is a fairly common disease but is not very well known.
Celiac disease, or celiac sprue, is a digestive condition triggered by consumption of the protein
gluten (Hill, Clinical manifestations and diagnosis of celiac disease in children, 2011). Gluten is a
protein found in wheat, barley, rye, and oats. People with celiac disease who eat foods containing
gluten experience an immune reaction in their small intestines, causing damage to the inner surface
of the small intestine and an inability to absorb certain nutrients (Hill, Clinical manifestations and
diagnosis of celiac disease in children, 2011). The small intestine is responsible for absorbing food
and nutrients. Thus, damage to the lining of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The symptoms adults experience are much the same as the children experience without the
stunning of growth and affect on puberty. Some adults having a mild form of the disease exhibit
almost no symptoms. Others may experience a loss or gain in appetite, abdominal pain, bloating,
gas or indigestion. In addition, other people have bothersome symptoms including diarrhea, weight
loss, abdominal discomfort, and excessive gas caused by vitamin and nutrient deficiencies (The
Mayo Clinic staff, 2011). If a person is not absorbing nutrients adequately, a blood test will detect
this lack of nutrient absorption resulting in the decreased of iron absorption. Also, this inability to
absorb certain nutrients may cause vitamin deficiencies. These deficiencies deprive the brain,
peripheral nervous system, bones, liver and other organs of vital nourishment (Dugdale III,
Longstreth, Zieve, 2010). Causes The exact cause of celiac disease is not known, but scientists

Growing Up Congo Character Analysis
Growing Up Congo Growing Up Congo would be a docu series that would Congolese families
living in various parts of Southern California. Much of the content would stem from immigrant,
Congolese parents trying to instill those traditional customs and cultural pride in their children
who born and raised in America would much rather focus on fitting in with the average American
students at their schools rather than learn how to smoke fish from the balconies of their
apartments. This character driven show would follow three well acquainted families as they
navigate through daily life. These families were discovered by hungry producers looking for an
interesting group of people to be in a new show when a friend of Mary Nkiese referred her to them.

The father, Paul, is the Congolese community s go to pastor. His family has been in the U.S.

wife, their four adult children and their 7 grandchildren live in 4 houses, all next door to each

22 year old still lives with her parents and fears becoming like her siblings and never moving

constant dilemma. As the pastor of the community, Paul often has to deal with accusations of
Kindoki (or witchcraft) as the cause of his congregation s problems rather their own actions. He
provides counseling and acts as the wise, elder of the community. This position is very important
because it helps keep this small community together. The wisdom he imparts on the community, is a
very traditional role in many African societies. Adults and youth in the community look towards
him for advice. However, his own adult children, especially Mali, struggle with wanting to live
independent lives while taking care of and remaining close to their aging

Comparing Emerson And Ralph Waldo Emerson
Ralph Waldo Emerson says There is a time in every man s education when he arrives at the
conviction that envy is ignorance; that imitation is suicide. This quote is immensely true you
should always be true to yourself and you shouldn t envy people you don t really know that
much about. You should stay true to yourself because if you want to imitate someone who are
killing yourself figuratively. How is your inner self alive if you don t display it no one knows
who you really are so your soul is dead to others. They would just see that you are like everyone
else or like someone else in particular and then you will be compared to the other person which
isn t what people usually want. If someone were to compare you to someone and you are just off
there in the corner hearing this and they are saying blah blah he s/she s exactly like so and so
and you are just like no I m me , but you have no proof because what they are saying is true. Your
inner self would never be known to people if you like to hide away and just do what it is popular

Illegal Immigration Problem Solution
Immigration Problem Solution Essay
Illegal immigration is becoming overwhelming in the United States. Many people are getting
across the border illegally so they can either find a better life for themselves or their children.
When these people immigrate it is normally due to the process of becoming a citizen taking too
long and causing them to become impatient or they re just not allowed at all. The United States has
a problem with illegal immigration and since this is a problem a couple solutions should be planned
and worked on.
Today in the United States there seems to be a problem with getting a visa for those who want
to migrate to the U.S. legally and easily. If it were to be made effortless to enter then less people
would risk their lives trying to enter illegally. The border is easy enough to bypass that it
encourages dangerous crossings for people who just want in for an easy life for themselves or
their children (Walker and Zuckerman 1). The simplicity of getting a visa and immigrating with
it should be improving over time like technology does all over the world. If the border were to
be improved it can prevent many crossings and force them to find legal ways on immigrating
into the country (Walker and Zuckerman 2). The easier it is to cross the border, the more that
will do attempt it for an easier life. This can be a problem on monitoring who is immigrating into
the U.S. and if they re peaceful beings or terrorists. If they are terrorists and they pass

Buca Di Beppo
Buca Di Beppo on the corner of Rush and Grand is a must go restaurant for Italian food cravers.
Buca di Beppo is a collection of neighborhood restaurants with an authentic Italian menu for

when it was brought to our table. I loved how they made some crispy and some tender. The

spice into the sauce giving a little kick but I loved it.
When our entrees came out I was shocked. I didn t believe how much they give you every time.
Buca is very generous with their portions and does great job of making their famous pastas. The
chicken Parmigianino was absolutely fabulous. The chicken had a nice texture to it especially
when you cut it up. The chicken was just so tender and juicy and even crunchy due to the crunchy
outside. The marinara sauce on top of it was different from what they gave with the calamari and it
was amazing. You can tell the freshness of the tomatoes and the basil they use for their sauce. The
pasta went really well with the chicken. On the other hand the chicken alfredo was not what I
had anticipated. I love cheese, but the amount of cheese they had on this pasta was just
overwhelming. The thickness of the sauce was just way too much for my taste buds. The
chicken in the alfredo was just as tender and delicious as the Parmigianino, but the sauce of the
alfredo really disappointed me. The first few bites were incredible but it got very difficult to eat
because it wasn t as creamy as I wanted it to be. The cheese got cold really

A Reflection On Multicultural Learning Experience
Multicultural Learning Experience All people are unique and come from diverse backgrounds.
Throughout, this paper I will be examining some of my key identities as well as how these have
impacted how I view the world and how this defines who I am today. I will do this by using the
RESPECTFUL model which identifies the factors which define a person; consequently, all the
ideas brought up will not only be mine but based on a more concrete understanding of humanity
(Ivey, Ivey, Zalaquett, 2014, pp. 18 19). Moreover, the purpose of this examination is to expand

The only way I can change in a way that benefits my calling is if I know what areas in myself
need to be changed. Therefore, this examination will be conducted by comparing myself to the
key social work values and how I have or need to learn from them. Identity Religion and
Spirituality The first letter in the RESPECTFUL model is R and it represents religion and
spirituality (Ivey et al., 2014, p. 26). Although I do not consider myself religious, my faith and
beliefs can be attributed to Christianity, a common religion throughout much of the world. These
beliefs have had a profound impact on how I grew up and have shaped the person I am today as
well as the person I am becoming. Consequently, my personal values and ideas are shaped by the
teachings of Christianity. This is where I garnished my desire to help others and be a proponent
for social wellbeing of all. Moreover, in the teachings I hold dear to my heart, I observe the
value placed on each individual person and believe they are loved by the creator who desires the
betterment of all, especially those who are marginalized or facing social injustice. It is also
imperative for his followers to work towards this end. Nonetheless, there have been controversies
throughout my life corresponding to my personal faith and my desire to help others and how I
believe these two ideas relate to each other. Notably, when I was younger, I

the closest player on the bottom of the zone near the rim that does not already have a player in

player at the top of the zone should slide down a little bit to help defend the high post. If the ball

Judaism, Christianity And Judaism And Interfaith

Many religions share some of the same values, yet many religions differ greatly from one another.
For example Christianity and Judaism share similar beliefs as one another, where as a religion
such as Islam doesn t correlate with other religions as often. Religions have set beliefs and in many
cases a sacred place or temple, Christianity, Judaism, and Islam are all aligned in this way; due to
the fact that Israel is know as the biblical holy land to Jews, christians, and muslims. Christianity s
holy land is Israel Jerusalem, which is also the holy land in Judaism. Islam has a number of sacred
places, one very well known and considered to be Islam s most sacred land is the holy city of
Mecca.
Christianity is connected with Israel for numerous reasons. Jerusalem (founded in 3000 BC) is
presumed to be the whereabouts of some of Jesus s teaching, the institution of the Holy
Eucharist (Holy Communion/the Lord s Supper), and the Last Supper. Jesus was crucified in
Golgotha which is right outside of Jerusalem according the the New Testament near the city

A Woman s Name Of The Kopp Chronicles
Chapter One February 23, 1843, 10 years before the events of An Immigrant American, Volume 1 of
the Kopp Chronicles.
Suddenly, the door of the carriage flung open, as it pulled up to the doors of the Mannheim Palace
on an early and cold February morning in 1843.
Karolina, I am so glad you are here! A young woman with brown disheveled hair said frantically as
she burst into tears.
I thought you would never get here. I don t know what to do with my hair, and my mother needs
help with the wedding, and they will be here any moment! Please hurry and come with me! She
sobbed and ran toward the doors of the palace.
Karolina Sorg, a pretty seventeen year old girl, and her mother Theresia surprised at the sudden
stop of the carriage and the loud outburst quickly recovered. They stepped out of the carriage and
followed her, breaking with all proper decorum as they entered the palace.
The woman s name was Princess Marie Amelie Elisabeth Karoline of Baden and that evening she
was marrying the Marquess of Hamilton, son of the Duke of Hamilton.
The previous day, her mother had sent an urgent message to Theresia to come to the palace and help
with last minute wedding preparations. She also suggested Theresia bring her daughter with her to

Book Review Of Woman At Point Zero
Discuss the work of fiction you have read which has helped you most to understand the complexity
of the world. (100 300 words)
In my junior year of high school, I had read the book Woman at Point Zero by Nawal El Saadawi,
an Egyptian author. The book depicts an Egyptian woman who grew up in a poor home and
experiences difficulties with a obtaining a higher education before she results to other methods to
obtain power. Prior to reading this, I was largely ignorant of the lasting impacts of gender on
education in foreign cultures. I had known the lessons of the American Dream , which states that
everyone has equal opportunity for success. However, based on the novel, my global understanding
had grown to realize that the circumstances are quite different around the world. The book had
shown me the links between gender and education, and that the cultural treatment of women is
sometimes brutal. In the United States, I had seen that men and women have equal opportunity for
education, however the cultural context of Woman at Point Zero displays that traditional gender
roles largely impact an individual s education. The novel showed me that some cultures value men
above women and, thus, their educations are prioritized. The protagonist of the novel is,
consequently, left with a limited education as a result of her gender, while a predominantly male
college is referenced in the novel. Overall, the novel contributed to my global understanding of the
treatment of women, and showed

Odds Against Tomorrow Character Analysis
As each day passes, the events that we encounter enters through each and everyone of our minds
and becomes an assimilation of experiences. Over a long period of time one s past experiences
come to affect how they see newer ones. As each and every experience fills our minds, it creates
an expectation or order in which our judgment causes us to assume or create reason for the future
to become a certain way. This process can be viewed as perspective, perspective influences your
actions, emotions, it can be a complete rulebook for the way a person becomes and acts. In the
book OddsAgainst Tomorrow, by Nathaniel Rich as we explore the world through the eyes of one
character, Mitchelle, we began to notice a possibly very eccentric perspective on life and chance.
Throughout the book we notice other characters and their views on the same events. This then
relays back to previous experiences or life events that these characters have undergone. Overall
through the reading we can notice a theme of multiple or different perspectives, that fact of which
perspectives are right or where these perspectives come from is determined by the reader. One can
simply conclude that because of the past experiences or events that an individual has encountered
throughout their life this then becomes a major deciding factor in their new perceptive. This
perspective can change, as the events that we experiencecome to change as well. For example an
overflow of optimism may be encountered after one

(II.2.54 56). His fears unveil his madness and frailty, which endanger his manhood.
Since his need for Lady Macbeth diminished his sense of manliness, he forces himself to separate
from her in order to prove his own identity as a manly king. While leaving his wife in sorrowful

is a worthy man according to society. He is willing to compromise his conscience for the second
time so that his mortal self can be seen as heroic. This idea of man contrived by society has forced
a man full o th milk of human kindness to murder men for the sake of honor

Eating disorders are described as a persistent disturbance of eating behavior or behavior intended to control weight, which significantly impairs physical health or psychosocial functioning (Fairburn Walsh, 2003). There are several types of eating disorders and sufferers may have a combination of disorders. Among eating disorders, anorexia and bulimia nervosa are the most common (The British Psychological Society, 2004). This review will discuss the psychological and behavioral traits associated with anorexia and bulimia nervosa, as well as the systemic and dental consequences. Research has shown, most cases of anorexia and bulimia nervosa begin during adolescence, with the growth of social media being linked to one of the causal factors (The British Psychological Society, 2004). There is some evidence suggesting roles of genetic, neurobiological and sociocultural factors as well (The British Psychological Society, 2004). Morbidity and mortality rates may be higher because individuals with eating disorders often deny the extent of their fasting, binge eating and purging behaviors (Steinberg, 2012). What is this saying about Duke University? Is Duke a promoter of cheap labor and paying low wages to their employees? From a public relations position it is concerning for the reputation of the university, the community who depends on Duke for employment and students who attend the university. The learning that comes from this is that students are realizing their legal rights to politically organize protests, and they are winning. • 5. Designing A Surrogate Server And Its Numerical Ip Address In this approach, the DNS performs the mapping between a surrogate server s symbolic name and its numerical IP address. It is used for full site content selection and delivery. In DNS based request routing, a domain name has multiple IP addresses associated to it. When an end user s content request comes, the DNS server of the service provider returns the IP addresses of servers holding the replica of the requested object. The client s DNS resolver chooses a server among these. To decide, the resolver may issue probes to the servers and choose based on response times to these probes. For example, with a Web pagecontaining an HTML file and some embedded objects, the Web serverwould modify references to embedded objects so that the client could fetch them from the best surrogate server. To automate this process, CDNs provide special scripts that transparently parse Web page content and replace embedded URLs URL rewriting can be pro active or reactive. пЃ¬In the pro active URL rewriting, the URLs for embedded objects of the main HTML page are formulated before the content is loaded in the origin server. пЃ¬In reactive approach involves rewriting the embedded URLs of a HTML page when the client request reaches the origin server. Advantage: The main advantage of URL rewriting is that the clients are not bound to a single surrogate server, because the rewritten URLs contain DNS names that point to a group of surrogate servers. Annotated Lolita Analysis A Postcolonial view of The Annotated Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov The infamous story of Lolita by author Vladimir Nabokov has been a controversial one since its first release in America in November 1958. The publishing world and the average readers were not prepared or interested in reading a story about a middle aged pedophile and his twelve year old stepdaughter. People were outraged by the book and were repulsed by it, but as the moth is drawn to the flame, so are curious minds and within one week, Lolita became a best selling book. Author Vladimir Nabokov was born in Russia on April 22, 1899 during a time when socially acceptable rules were very different than what we practice in today s society. During the 19th century in Europe, it was common for a man to marry a young girl of only 10 years of age. We can only speculate, that Nabokov writes about the sexual relationship between father and daughter as acceptable through the eyes of Humbert, since this may have been behavior that was familiar to him through friends and family in Russia and his travels throughout Europe. To begin with, I ll examine Frankl s theory of existential analysis known as logotherapy. We are meant to become our truest selves by finding meaning in our lives, which, according to Frankl, can come from three places: work, love, and our attitude in the face of horrific suffering or difficulty. And at the center of this meaning is our responsibility and human right to choose. In Frankl s theory, we all strive to fulfill a self chosen goal, from which meaning has the potential to be found. And if no meaning is found, there is meaning yet to be found, or meaning to be drawn from the apparent lack of meaning. Whatever the case, Frankl viewed man s lack of meaning as the greatest existential crisis, the stress of this meaninglessness giving life and shape to all of our neuroses. This will to meaning is the culmination of our developmental process. To cultivate an individual s capacity to find meaning in their life is the greatest goal, and the source of mankind s anxiety and neuroses. We all wish to find the meaning within our life, and are unfulfilled when we miss the mark. But according to Frankl, there is always meaning in life, in every single moment, from one to the next we all are capable of making a choice about ourselves, and beyond that, have a responsibility to do so. Even with the transitory nature of our existence and hopelessness in the face of certain death, there is still meaning to be found, there is still freedom to be earned. The laws claims to neutrality and objectivity have been challenged by the Feminist Judgements Project using immanent critique to expose gender bias, reflecting the widely held belief that society will remain underrepresented whilst the legal system is male dominated. The dynamic and innovative project involves the creation of alternative feminist judgements to significant English cases. • 14. The Morality Of Genetically Modified Animals For The... There are two sides to the morality of genetically modifying animals for the purpose of pharming and xenotransplantation: the potential benefits and the reality. Although genetic modification of mammals carries promises of being able to use said modified mammals as a source of materials used in pharmaceuticals or creating mammalian species with organs that can be transplanted in humans, the reality is that reproductive cloningin mammals has a low success rate. Because of the high demand for organs including hearts, livers, and kidneys, scientists have since turned to genetically modifying mammals such as pigs as a source of potential organs for transplant. This has involved disruption of genes in pigs that cause tissue rejection in humans or knocking out genes that allow transmission of retroviruses. Similarly, some sheep have been genetically modified to secrete through their milk, the humanfactor IX needed by hemophiliacs. Despite these promising advances, mammalian reproductive cloning still has a low success rate and a high probability of developmental abnormalities. Even if a cloned animal does survive gestation and is not spontaneously aborted, there is a likely chance that it will not survive long after birth. Other abnormalities are frequently seen, such as liver and brain defects, cardiovascular problems, and potential premature aging. This can be seen in Dolly, who had premature arthritis despite only being six years old. Many consider reproductive cloning ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The elements that create what it means to be emotionally intelligent are incorporated to the figurative language, satire. Many comedians are using satire to expose flaws and criticize the political system. Trevor Noah, a satirist, is a good example of how satire works in comedy and how the audience reacts to it. The use of satire is so effective when it is incorporated in comedy since it has the ability to challenge authority and have political influence. First of all, the only difference between satire and criticism is that satire is implied and not overtly stated. Satire is a form of being able to indicate human behavior disobedience and social resistance. It derives from the Latin word satura meaning the involvement of basic principles of stage show to the introduction of formal Latin comedy. Which is why satire is used mainly from comedians. It also communicated in literature, internet, comics and cartoons. Comedians expose most of work through the form of satire because it is a way to alert people by grabbing their attention to something that they can laugh about instead of getting serious about it. • 23. Illegal Immigration Problem Solution Immigration Problem Solution Essay Illegal immigration is becoming overwhelming in the United States. Many people are getting across the border illegally so they can either find a better life for themselves or their children. When these people immigrate it is normally due to the process of becoming a citizen taking too long and causing them to become impatient or they re just not allowed at all. The United States has a problem with illegal immigration and since this is a problem a couple solutions should be planned and worked on. Today in the United States there seems to be a problem with getting a visa for those who want to migrate to the U.S. legally and easily. If it were to be made effortless to enter then less people would risk their lives trying to enter illegally. The border is easy enough to bypass that it encourages dangerous crossings for people who just want in for an easy life for themselves or their children (Walker and Zuckerman 1). The simplicity of getting a visa and immigrating with it should be improving over time like technology does all over the world. If the border were to be improved it can prevent many crossings and force them to find legal ways on immigrating into the country (Walker and Zuckerman 2). The easier it is to cross the border, the more that will do attempt it for an easier life. This can be a problem on monitoring who is immigrating into the U.S. and if they re peaceful beings or terrorists. If they are terrorists and they pass ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The marinara sauce on top of it was different from what they gave with the calamari and it was amazing. You can tell the freshness of the tomatoes and the basil they use for their sauce. The pasta went really well with the chicken. On the other hand the chicken alfredo was not what I had anticipated. I love cheese, but the amount of cheese they had on this pasta was just overwhelming. The thickness of the sauce was just way too much for my taste buds. (100 300 words) In my junior year of high school, I had read the book Woman at Point Zero by Nawal El Saadawi, an Egyptian author. The book depicts an Egyptian woman who grew up in a poor home and experiences difficulties with a obtaining a higher education before she results to other methods to obtain power. Prior to reading this, I was largely ignorant of the lasting impacts of gender on education in foreign cultures. I had known the lessons of the American Dream , which states that everyone has equal opportunity for success. However, based on the novel, my global understanding had grown to realize that the circumstances are quite different around the world. The book had shown me the links between gender and education, and that the cultural treatment of women is sometimes brutal. In the United States, I had seen that men and women have equal opportunity for education, however the cultural context of Woman at Point Zero displays that traditional gender roles largely impact an individual s education. The novel showed me that some cultures value men above women and, thus, their educations are prioritized. The protagonist of the novel is, consequently, left with a limited education as a result of her gender, while a predominantly male college is referenced in the novel. Overall, the novel contributed to my global understanding of the treatment of women, and showed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
